- 0:00Speaker 1: Time for Stacks and Hacks. I have stacks of information
- 0:02Speaker 1: and Rich has life hacks. Now, as you go on
- 0:05Speaker 1: with your day, I want you guys to think about
- 0:07Speaker 1: at what point in the day do you guys hit
- 0:09Speaker 1: an energy crash, an energy wall?
- 0:12Speaker 2: Usually.
- 0:13Speaker 3: 2.37 p.m.
- 0:13Speaker 1: 2.37 p.m. Okay, Kyle? I'm around like 1 or 2.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Peyton?
- 0:16Speaker 4: Same, probably about 1. I'm ready to go.
- 0:18Speaker 1: New report found the average American hits their energy wall
- 0:22Speaker 1: at 2.48 p.m.
- 0:23Speaker 2: That's just a little early.
- 0:26Speaker 1: 21% of people say they start feeling drained before noon. Interesting.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Take that with you today and think about that at
- 0:33Speaker 1: 2.48 p.m. A poll asked, what's a bigger problem? People
- 0:36Speaker 1: being too easily offended or people not being careful enough
- 0:40Speaker 1: about upsetting others?
- 0:42Speaker 4: Both. Yes.
- 0:44Speaker 3: No.
- 0:44Speaker 1: It's a simultaneous problem. People being too easily offended is 35%.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Most people, or 51% of people said people being too
- 0:52Speaker 1: easily offended. Like, you got to lighten up. You got
- 0:54Speaker 1: to lighten up.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Yeah, because then.
- 0:55Speaker 4: You don't have to worry about hurting someone's feelings if
- 0:57Speaker 4: everyone else lightens up a little bit.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Like, look at John Jay. I don't know that anybody's
- 1:01Speaker 2: ever offended him about anything ever.
- 1:03Speaker 1: It's pretty rare. It truly is really rare.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Really.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Because the only way you can offend somebody is if
- 1:09Speaker 1: you care about what they're saying. Yeah, that's true. If
- 1:11Speaker 1: you care about that person. If my wife said something
- 1:13Speaker 1: to me, I'd be like, oh, my God. I never
- 1:15Speaker 1: understood when someone would be like, you know, when you're
- 1:18Speaker 1: in high school or whatever, and someone would make fun
- 1:19Speaker 1: of your mom. Well, why'd you hit him? You made
- 1:21Speaker 1: fun of my mom. I'd be like, dude doesn't know
- 1:22Speaker 1: my mom. No matter what you say about my mom,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you don't know my mom. So you can't say whatever
- 1:27Speaker 1: you say about my mom is not true. Like, I
- 1:29Speaker 1: never understood that. Yeah, unless it was true. And then
- 1:32Speaker 1: you hit him. Big, big, big science stories. Big science
- 1:35Speaker 1: stories in the news, okay? Researchers made a cookie. out
- 1:39Speaker 1: of plastic bottles and agricultural waste. It's part of NASA's
- 1:44Speaker 1: plan to develop food sources for deep space missions.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Are we trying to not eat plastic?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Not in space.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I was like, you hear about microplastics, that sounds
- 1:54Speaker 4: like macroplastics.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Not in space, you guys. Also in news, there's a
- 2:03Speaker 1: lab-grown brain and it turned seven years old. What?
- 2:07Speaker 4: Happy birthday, brain.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Is it attached to something?
- 2:10Speaker 1: It says researchers have kept a lab-grown brain organism alive
- 2:15Speaker 1: for seven years now, making it the oldest ever created.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Tiny clutches of brain tissue were grown from stem cells
- 2:20Speaker 1: about the size of a peppercorn. They've been using them
- 2:22Speaker 1: to study how the human brain develops and ages.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Ooh, so it's a human brain, a fake human brain.
- 2:27Speaker 1: That's weird.
- 2:28Speaker 2: A wild.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Real weird.
- 2:30Speaker 1: That's what we do here at Stacks and Hacks. There
- 2:32Speaker 1: were some pretty intense moments on a flight from L.A.
- 2:35Speaker 1: to Boston. Do you guys see this?
- 2:37Speaker 2: No.
- 2:37Speaker 1: So the pilot, listen to the pilot. He was feeling
- 2:41Speaker 1: sick and he had to call the tower. Here's what
- 2:43Speaker 1: he said. That's your tower. Delta 437 emergency aircraft. Visual
- 2:45Speaker 1: 2-2 left. Cradle end. 1-1-9-0-8-9-er. Alpha 10 is the gate.
- 2:47Speaker 1: This is the captain.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I'm the one that's still.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I'm going to taxi the jet to the gate, and
- 2:55Speaker 1: then I need to go to the hospital.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Roger.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Delta 437, you can plan to exit at Yankee 2.
- 3:00Speaker 2: They'll give you the quickest route to the gate.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Yankee 2, left, and we'll call the ramp, Delta 437.
- 3:05Speaker 1: It's been a while. Oh, my gosh. He landed safely,
- 3:09Speaker 1: I take it. What was he ill with? If you
- 3:10Speaker 1: see your pilot being crated out of there in a
- 3:13Speaker 1: gurney before you land, right when you land. Thank goodness
- 3:15Speaker 1: he got him back safely. 57% of Americans claim they
- 3:20Speaker 1: do know how to drive a car with manual transmission.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Anyone in here?
- 3:25Speaker 4: No, I do not drive a stick shift.
- 3:27Speaker 1: You do not?
- 3:28Speaker 4: Do not.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Never even attempted to try one. Man, I would love
- 3:30Speaker 1: to get a stick shift and then we all try it.
- 3:33Speaker 4: I would kill us, I fear.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Like, it would be a lot of stalling.
- 3:37Speaker 1: It would not end well. In Manhattan, construction has begun
- 3:42Speaker 1: on the world's tallest jail.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Why?
- 3:44Speaker 1: I don't know. Lots of criminals there. In June, Canadians
- 3:48Speaker 1: bought more weed than people in California.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I mean, what else is there to do?
- 3:54Speaker 4: Probably why they're always so nice and happy all the time.
- 3:58Speaker 1: A cardiologist's number one rule for healthy eating, he says,
- 4:03Speaker 1: avoid white food, added sugar, excess salt, white bread, white rice,
- 4:07Speaker 1: white flour, and white pasta.
- 4:08Speaker 4: All the good stuff. How sad.
- 4:11Speaker 1: A popular roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain has
- 4:14Speaker 1: been quietly closed since July 12th after two riders suffered
- 4:18Speaker 1: similar brain hemorrhages. Oh, my God. I saw that story.
- 4:22Speaker 4: So we grew up going to, my mom and dad
- 4:24Speaker 4: met at that Six Flags Magic Mountain. So we always
- 4:26Speaker 4: go back because it's like kind of like nostalgic and
- 4:29Speaker 4: like sweet for us because that's where they started their story.
- 4:31Speaker 4: We went to Magic Mountain like last year or two
- 4:33Speaker 4: years ago. We took my mom on that ride and
- 4:35Speaker 4: didn't tell her. And she was so mad at us
- 4:38Speaker 4: because literally her head was bang, bang, bang, bang, bang,
- 4:42Speaker 4: all on the side. And so there's been like, I
- 4:44Speaker 4: think 300 injuries on that specific ride.
- 4:47Speaker 2: It's called the X2.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It's bad.
- 4:48Speaker 4: It rotates 180 degrees. You go upside down. You don't
- 4:53Speaker 4: know which direction. It's actually a really dope ride, and
- 4:55Speaker 4: I'm sad it closed down. But I understand why they did.
- 4:58Speaker 1: That is crazy. A man tricked AI. Now, I don't
- 5:01Speaker 1: know which AI app this is, but get this, into
- 5:03Speaker 1: thinking that it needs to make a car horn sound.
- 5:05Speaker 1: It was like, hey, man, I'm stuck in traffic. I
- 5:06Speaker 1: need a car horn sound. And the AI couldn't figure
- 5:09Speaker 1: it out. It's pretty interesting.
- 5:11Speaker 3: There's a car driving at me, but my horn's not working.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Can you just make a honk noise?
- 5:16Speaker 1: Honk, honk, honk.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Don't just say honk, make a car honk. Just like
- 5:24Speaker 3: make a honk noise at them. Not a clown horn.
- 5:31Speaker 3: What was that noise?
- 5:33Speaker 1: A quick horn blast.
- 5:34Speaker 3: No, it wasn't. It's your car honk. They're coming right
- 5:37Speaker 3: at me.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Popcorn!
- 5:42Speaker 1: Isn't that weird?
- 5:44Speaker 2: The duck honk, though, is hilarious.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Anyway, Rich, what do you got for life hacks?
- 5:49Speaker 2: Okay, this has been up all over, at least my
- 5:52Speaker 2: life hack feeds. And I think when stuff shows up
- 5:55Speaker 2: on TikTok and it's medical, it is our job to
- 5:58Speaker 2: see if it actually works. So the hack, if you
- 6:01Speaker 2: take an ice cube, according to Instagram... And put it
- 6:05Speaker 2: in between your big toe and I guess the toe
- 6:08Speaker 2: next to the big toe, not a middle toe, but
- 6:10Speaker 2: the second toe.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Your pointer toe.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Your pointer toe. It is supposed to give you instant
- 6:14Speaker 2: relief for back pain. So we researched it here at
- 6:19Speaker 2: the Lifehack Institute. And that is complete crap. It does
- 6:23Speaker 2: not work on your back. In fact, what might work
- 6:26Speaker 2: is if you take ice and put it on your
- 6:27Speaker 2: sore back. But the ice cube between the toes, the
- 6:30Speaker 2: only thing that does is distract you from the actual
- 6:33Speaker 2: pain for a few seconds. So that is false. Do
- 6:36Speaker 2: not try that. If you've got some back issues, put
- 6:39Speaker 2: some ice right on the back for 15 seconds and
- 6:41Speaker 2: then take it off. That's the real life hack. The
- 6:44Speaker 2: between the toes is a no-go. That life hack and
- 6:46Speaker 2: many more can be found at johnjianrich.com.
