So ⁓ further ado, let's get into this amazing episode with Aubrey. the roadmap she never had so they can stop surviving and start thriving. Okay, Aubrey, girlfriend, tell us your story. sure it could take hours, but just ⁓ us your story. We gotta hear this. ⁓ Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yes. I will try to not make it hours long, because I know we are on limited time. ⁓ Okay. So my story started, as you heard in my bio, I was always very healthy. I was very active. I was a collegiate athlete. I then moved into personal training and owned a bootcamp company was very, very active, healthy individual. Bekah Yawn: Yeah. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: had my first child and moved into what my husband and I thought was our forever dream home. It was a brand new home ⁓ pregnant with my second son. And as soon as I had my second son, which was really just a few months into moving, I very ill. And so like most of us, I assumed that this was just an odd postpartum type experience. ⁓ And I went to just my regular doctor. ⁓ We ran some tests. It started out that I had Hashimoto's pretty much off the charts, Hashimoto's hypothyroidism Epstein-Barr, chronic Epstein-Barr virus. And so I started down that path first. And that started the beginning of a seven year journey and over doctors going all across the country. I collected more diagnoses that I have fingers and toes to count. ⁓ but ultimately what happened was I did not get better all of the diagnosis is, and I continued to get worse to the point where I had lost all of my eyebrows, most of my hair, a large portion of vision and hearing. could no longer drive. I was no longer able to walk without much assistance. I could not be outside. I had heat intolerance. I had rashes. I couldn't breathe. My heart became enlarged. I was even having seizure like activity and blackouts. It was very, very extreme. Towards the end, I also had endometriosis. I had all sorts of things. mean, across every system, you name it. And it really seemed to come out of nowhere. I mean, it started with just after postpartum, it just continued and it continued to rack up. ⁓ eventually, and this is ⁓ make this story much shorter, I had a miracle, really, from God. had a miracle from God where I was given my diagnosis ⁓ From there, I thought that was the end. Once you find out the reason behind something, you can start really tackling fixing it. But unfortunately, what happened is that was at year seven. It took me five years of knowing the diagnosis and doing everything wrong and getting worse in order to actually find what worked. And along with that came a second exposure in a different home my family and I really went downhill. And that's really what kind of pushed us into this actual road to recovery that we discovered. And I finally got well. And from there, I, of when you're in a space of chronic illness, you're looking for people that are like you that understand. And so I had lots of friends who were very similar to me and so, and family. And so I would reach out and tell them, hey, this is what I did. ⁓ And everyone... in that space, used the protocol I did and got well. And I decided from there, okay, this thing works and I want to help other people because I had a lot of grief about the missed motherhood that I had. I had three boys at the time and it took me 12 years to get well. And as you can imagine, I lost a lot of the young years with my kid. I mean, I was there, but I was mostly bedridden or fighting for my life quite literally. And there's a lot of grief that comes with that because I say it all time, but time is the only commodity that we can never get back. We can get more stuff. We can make more money, we can't get time back. And so it's gone. And I grieved for a while and still have bouts hardship about that. But overall, my goal now is to help prevent that in other families, to help other people get quick ⁓ results, their lives back, get their health and their recovery and their vitality back much quicker than I did. So that's the shortened version. ⁓ Bekah Yawn: Yeah. Oh my gosh. Man, I just connect on that in one way in regards to the motherhood thing. I recently had a pregnancy that I was out for over a year with the pregnancy and postpartum and all that stuff. It ended up being like an overdose of too many methylated B vitamins. Yeah, took me, anyways, much shorter journey. But yeah, I just. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: ⁓ my goodness. Bekah Yawn: It was so hard and I can't imagine what you've been through. Like I can't imagine it and that's why I'm like, oh my gosh, I just want to cry. That is so hard, so sad. And good job for concising that into a few minutes. It's amazing. Well done. Okay, so wow, where do we begin with this? Let's talk through, so in your story you said, Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Thank you. Bekah Yawn: It took you seven years to figure out, okay, it's mold. And then it took you five years to like, walk us through that. What the heck happened? Like who told you you had mold? How'd you figure it out? And then how did you not get help for that? And how did you finally figure ⁓ out? Like what kind of support did you get? Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah, I know it's crazy because you would think once I had that diagnosis that, and that's what I expected, once I finally know what this mystery illness is, I'll get well. And you can imagine my surprise and frustration when that isn't what happened. In fact, I did probably everything wrong under the sun saw a lot of practitioners that said that they could help me and specialized with this and in fact did not, unfortunately. But I'll walk you back to the moment where we got the diagnosis and it's a Bekah Yawn: Right. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: beautiful testament to God. So I love this story. And I'll try not to get emotional even though I've told it a million times at this point, I was, I'm an ugly crier. So I don't know if you want that, but I, at this point, I was seven years into this illness. And like I said, I was, I was very sick and I wasn't the only one. My kids were sick as well, but at this point I was very sick and I was no longer able to drive. Bekah Yawn: Get emotional, it's fine. You're not alone. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: I had such severe vertigo and I was in and out of specialists and all these other things. And so my husband was constantly taking off of work because I had so many specialists. And on this particular day, I was needing to get to my cardiologist because like I said, my heart had become enlarged. And so I've seen a cardiologist and I could not drive. And so he was, he had just hired someone brand new at his company and was explaining to him he was going to have takeoff to take his wife to the cardiologist. And the man, of course questioned why are you taking your young wife who looks healthy to a cardiologist? What's going on? And so my husband explained she's been suffering for over seven years. We have all these mystery symptoms. We can't get an answer, blah, blah, blah. And the guy immediately said she needs to call my sister-in-law out in a different state from where I was. She sounds just like her, and she had mold toxicity from her home. And my husband said, and it's true, we had actually already tested at the very beginning of this. road we had tested and it came back negative for mold toxicity. And so we had ruled it out and my house was brand new. Like I said, it didn't have a water damage event in it. didn't have previous owners. But I just felt in my heart, my husband came home with her number and said, I think you just need to call her. You I know we've already ruled it out, but just call her. And did. And from we talked probably three hours. Our stories were... almost identical. I mean, I had a list of over 100 symptoms at this point and none of them made sense. It affected every system in my body, every organ it seemed. didn't seem connected at the time. And it was the first time I had talked to someone that had a very similar story. she was a very strong Christian. And she said, I truly feel in my heart that this was ⁓ intervention from God. And I think you need to call this specialist that I saw out in Colorado. And so I did, and we ended up flying out there. I'm in Texas. So we flew out there. My husband and I got tested and sure enough came back that we had mold toxicity. And ⁓ there, I don't know, I know you want to keep this podcast so much shorter, so I'm going to try to make this really short. from there, we started seeing a doctor who specialized in mold toxicity. At the time, it wasn't as well known. This was ⁓ 2019, so Mold, unfortunately, is a no pun intended, but a growing issue. really booming right now ⁓ and we can go into why that is. But at the time, wasn't as knowledge. There weren't as many practitioners that were mold literate ⁓ and COVID was happening. And so was really hard to get support. But I started with this practitioner who practiced a certain way and I actually got sicker. And so after two years of working with this practitioner, I left and it was of course very expensive and then started going on lots of different paths. did natural paths and I did functional and I did integrative that all specialize in mold. And I continued to get sicker realized that they were treating me out of order really and treating me without evidence-based principles. And so it took for the next five years, it took me ⁓ going up and down, trying different things, thinking, this one has the answer. ⁓ this one is the right thing. took the second mold exposure in our new home that we had moved to in for me to really begin to dig down into ⁓ what I missing? And once discovered that and got on the protocol, I was well within months. And it had been, at that point, over a decade, 12 years. So a testament to ⁓ following the protocol. ⁓ But yeah, I don't know if I answered your question. ⁓ Bekah Yawn: What in the Sam Hill? Like, ⁓ my gosh, that's crazy. We just worked with like a naturopath and it worked. I don't know. Maybe we just got like the one who knew how to do it or something. It was not a huge, I mean, like it's a huge thing, but like what you went through, this is so, mean, ⁓ you must have such a background of like not trusting the medical system both ways. Like, my gosh, Aubrey. ⁓ Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Hahaha Bekah Yawn: Ugh. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yes, it was a journey, but ultimately God got me through, right? And ⁓ truly believe it was for my purpose in life, which is now to help others that are in that situation, because I got to experience so many different sides of mold toxicity. Of course, I would have rather been able to move and get better. Bekah Yawn: No kidding. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: That would have been great, but that didn't happen and there's a purpose behind that too. And so now I understand other people that are coming to me and I have some very complex cases that are coming to me and I understand exactly where they are. I know exactly what that feels like and I know exactly what they're missing and what they need. so although I wouldn't have chosen it, I'm thankful for it now. Bekah Yawn: Right. Okay, I'm gonna ask you question. So like, I love this conversation. So ⁓ not a licensed medical person, right? You are? ⁓ my gosh. Okay, okay. ⁓ What you licensed in? Okay. ⁓ Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: too. I am actually now. So yeah, I wasn't at the time. I wasn't at the time. But as I began to, as I said, just start helping friends and family at first, just telling people about it and trying things with them and then helping my own kids. I used myself as a guinea pig through this protocol, then use my own kids and then recognized how well it worked and all of the evidence and the research studies behind it. decided I better have some, you know, more Bekah Yawn: Yeah. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: letters to my name. And so now I'm board certified as a holistic health practitioner. So yeah. Bekah Yawn: Nice, okay. And so that's how, can you order lab work? I like briefly looked through your stuff and I'm like, ⁓ hey, cool. You like do testing and all of that. Okay. All right, okay. Sorry, I have to think about my listeners right now. I'm just so, so this is so interesting. So ⁓ sisters, everybody who's listening, you know, they're trying to get pregnant or they're recovering from miscarriage. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yes. Yeah, yeah. Bekah Yawn: I have an intuition. I had a few root issues that brought on my miscarriages. of them was my thyroid. And I do think one of them was mold. I think that was ⁓ probably of them. We had it in our bathroom with the remodel and all this stuff. ⁓ So really important. And so everyone here listening is like, you know. Let's kind of go through, you are the expert here. I'm like, man, even if you didn't have letters behind your name, I would trust you. Like I would go to you to help with this, or send clients to you if this was a suspicion. talk us through like the most common symptoms ⁓ being sick with mold that are often missed by doctors, which you can speak to so well. ⁓ Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: I'm sorry. Yeah, yeah mold is difficult because it can literally mimic and look like anything and it's linked to so many things the the World Health Organization actually labeled it as the great masquerader of the 21st century So if that tells you anything if they're identifying it as something that can basically be behind things like cancer I mean, it's it's huge, but I'll try to list, you know, some of the most common so Almost all of my clients have a large amount of fatigue. That's usually one of the first signs, but that kind of crosses over to so many other things, right? So it gets hard. So fatigue, hair loss, gut issues, hormonal dysregulation, and thyroid dysfunction that oftentimes medication or supplements or HRT doesn't really address. A huge one is depression and anxiety. Oftentimes again SSRIs or those types of things don't seem to help that so it's like someone that has tried You different medications not always sometimes sometimes they do but oftentimes with mold that people will try treatments the quote-unquote conventional treatments that normally work and they don't work and it's because they're not addressing the root but they don't know that so depression anxiety cognitive dysfunction I was tested in my early 30s for ⁓ early onset dementia So I would have word recall issues where I would be talking to you and I'm thinking about like, I'm to say the word apple, but I can see the picture, but I can't say it. And it's so frustrating. know what it is. I know I can even see the word, but there's some sort of disconnect in my brain because of all the inflammation where I can't actually get the word out. And also a hard time remembering short-term memory. ADHD, especially children, they'll have more of the behavioral side of things. So ADHD and autism are both linked to mold. Of course, asthma, respiratory stuff, that's kind of stuff we think about. Oftentimes, rashes are a big one in kiddos. So chronic eczema or hives or just an extreme reactivity to foods, chemicals, that sort of thing. Like the kid that's ultra, ultra sensitive, they just always have a quote unquote, they're always sensitive to something. That was my middle son who's allergic to life itself. He's just allergic to everything. I I said gut issues. Yeah, it really can affect anything. Like every single one of the people in my home, there's five of us, three boys, my husband and myself, we all had different symptoms. So mine were more neurological, like tingling, numbness. I felt like I had like a hair on my face or like a feather that was on my face all the time. And then like bugs crawling. And then my ⁓ muscles would twitch, you know, like when you get a like Charlie horse or something, how your muscles will kind of cramp. It wasn't always painful, but sometimes they would just twitch and you could see my muscles just rotating through and twitching. then I had a lot of neurological anxiety, depression, fatigue, brain fog, severe brain fog. But then my husband, he didn't have any of that. What he had was all joints. So he had a lot of pain, swelling in the joints, stiff back and neck that he would just wake up and it was there for no reason. And then he would take a step and his knee would start hurting and it would be swollen. And it was ⁓ of a joint related thing. In fact, it seemed like gout and we kept looking for gout, but he was never testing, which I always make fun of him because we're not that old, right? But feel like gout is something my grandparents had. And then each of my kids presented differently. So ⁓ I one that had more of attention issues, hyperactivity, texture type problems. I had one, like I said, that was chronically severely affected, ⁓ of mast activation. ⁓ type stuff. And then I have another one that was affected more his eyesight. We had some really odd things going on with eyesight. And actually I've had that too, where I lost my vision and my left side completely went blind. And it was because when we did the scans, there was fluid buildup on my optic nerve that was blocking that line of vision. It's not something that's eyesight related actually, but he had more eyesight issues, constant stuffy nose. ⁓ could never breathe, night terrors constantly, those types of things. So I don't know, did I answer that? ⁓ a lot of symptoms. ⁓ I don't either. ⁓ Bekah Yawn: Wow. Okay. I don't even know what I asked, but like, wow. ⁓ Okay, so, ⁓ my gosh. Okay, can you walk us through, like, why do some people present so differently? And then also, I know that some people can have mold, but be asymptomatic. So walk us through that. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah. Yeah. This is a question I get a lot and it's honestly something I dealt with in the beginning too, because I was thinking, well, like it's obviously not mold because I'm the only one that has these symptoms. I didn't even recognize because I didn't know that my kids were having symptoms that like I just said, were completely different. So I thought I was the only one dealing with it. Mold affects everyone differently, just like the flu ⁓ ⁓ little known virus that happened in 2020. affects everyone differently. Because of our genetic makeup, we're all affected and just the way our immune system functions, where we are stress-wise, all of those things are different person to person, DNA to DNA. so mold will look different on you than it will look on me, the same as if you got the flu and I got the flu, we might have completely different symptoms or severities. That's one thing. The second thing is hormone-wise children and women tend to have more overreactive immune systems. Part of that is based on hormones. Part of that is based on immature immune systems, right? Because children aren't finished developing. And oftentimes women and children, not always, but oftentimes they are in the home more. And so if you're in the home and there's mold in the home, you're going to be exposed to the toxin more than someone that's not in the home as much. And so you might see more severity and it also has to do with where the exposure is. So for instance, One of the times that we had mold, it was in our master bathroom. And so I was sleeping by that 12 hours. Well, I wasn't sleeping 12 hours, but yeah, I was in my bedroom at least probably around 12 hours, you know, and my head was very close to those toxins. I was much closer than the rest of my kids who were on the opposite side of the house. And so I was going to have more severity. The most recent time that we've had mold, the mold was actually in my son's bathroom. And so they actually had more severe and quicker symptoms than I did because I was farther away from it. So there's a lot of nuances as to why someone might not even have symptoms. And I can say that mold is a toxin. It is not good for you no matter what. Whether you have symptoms or whether you don't, eventually it is going to affect you in a way that you will notice. But sometimes people don't notice for a long time because like I said, they might think, oh, this is just, know, my stomach has digestive issues or, oh, it's allergy season and I have... this runny nose and they don't necessarily recognize that it's a symptom. Bekah Yawn: Right. OK, so talk to us about if we're, and I looked over your podcast. I'm like, wow, this looks so great. So you guys go check out her podcast. It's called, what is it, The Mold Free Mom? Yeah. So really, really great information over there. But just walk us through what would you suggest ⁓ someone suspects that they might have mold, a mold issue for themselves or their family? Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah, mold-free mom. Yeah, so if you're suspecting, I'm assuming that would be because you have some sort of symptoms. And usually I always tell people red flags for mold are going to be, know, if you have symptoms that pop up and like I said earlier, maybe whatever you're doing, a lot of people that are sick with mold do quote unquote, all the right things, right? They change their diet and they take out the toxins in their home and they're exercising and they're draining limbs and they're doing all the things and yet they're not seeing the needle move on their health, but they're doing everything right. That might be a good indication. Or if you have symptoms that pop up in different areas. Mine started with thyroid and then all of a I was having a heart issue and an eyesight issue. So if you're looking around and you're thinking something just doesn't add up and I have a concern that I have mold. A lot of times people panic. So I want to start off with saying, don't panic. I know it's overwhelming to think about the fact that your house might be poisoning you. That's scary. And of course, you think about, my gosh, what all does that entail? It's a lot. So start with not panicking. And I would say before you run out and you go get mold inspectors and tests and all this stuff, I always tell people start with, I actually have a free 87 question mold symptom assessment on my website. And so they can go there. They can... take this, it's very comprehensive, 87 questions. It covers a lot of different systems and symptoms and then the timeline of when you moved into your home, if you have any water damage signs in your home, because a lot of times we don't know until we are made aware of what to look for. we feel better when we leave the home, ⁓ we go on vacation and our symptoms are gone and then we come back and all of sudden we realize, wait, I was actually doing better. Now I'm starting to get that whatever it is, chronic or... nose issue or the rash is back, like that might be a good sign, but they can take that assessment and it will tell you, it'll put you into a bucket of how likely you are to possibly have toxic mold and maybe not even in the home, maybe it's in school or church or work or somewhere else that you spend a large amount of time. And then it will tell you personalized next steps of what I would recommend that you do. Oftentimes, if you are in the red bucket, which is going to be high likelihood, it will most likely have you do a blood serum test for mycotoxins. I always have my patients or my clients do testing of the blood serum. And that way we know the toxin load in the body. And the amazing thing about this test is it gives us an IgG and an IgE. And so the IgE is gonna tell us if you are in an actual exposure right now. So if you're currently being exposed because these IgE antibodies, they're made every 24 to 36 hours. it's going to be hard for you to be not exposed and not showing up, right? Like ⁓ the last day, if you've been in exposure, it should be pretty high. So we'll be able to know immediately if environment is at play or if that's low and you have high IgG that tells us more if your toxin burden on your body is long-term exposure. It could be even from childhood, could be from a previous home. And that was in my case, when I moved from my first home, into my second home and I didn't get well for five years, that was a big part of it. Practitioners were trying to treat me as if I was still in mold exposure and I wasn't, I was colonized. And so I needed help with the colonization. And essentially colonization means if your body, our bodies are created by God and they're smart, right? Like we're made to detox and to get this junky stuff out of our bodies. But eventually if we're in a home and we're breathing 22,000 breaths a day and it's got mold toxins, mycotoxins in the air. Can you imagine how many toxins you're just inhaling? Like there's nothing, there's no part of the body that can continuously keep up with that, especially when you've been there months or in my case, almost a decade. And so eventually the body in order to protect itself is gonna take some of these toxins that are moving through your bloodstream and they're gonna pull them deeper into protective layers of your organs and your fat, right? Because fat is really protective. We all know that because it's harder to get rid of. And so these binders that a lot of people do are doing nothing for that. You're colonized, it's deep in your organs. Those binders, they work through the stomach acid and through the bloodstream. They can't get into the organs that is colonized. And you're to be colonized in your gut, in your lungs, or in your nasal cavity. Those are the three areas that that happens. And so this test will tell us you're colonized. And from there, we know exactly what to do. We know it's not current exposure. It's from, I mean, maybe even childhood or previous exposure. But we need to address the colonization with a targeted protocol. So that was really nerdied out, but hopefully that helped. Bekah Yawn: Okay. I love the nerdy. I mean, I really do. I appreciate that. I know we have listeners who also like to kind of hear more of the sciency background behind. And obviously you guys can hear through Aubrey's language. She is a strong believer in Jesus, which I think is really important when we're, you know, working through all of this. So Aubrey, thank you so much. I know we could talk for hours, but everybody, if you have a suspicion, Like you need to go to Aubrey's podcast and connect with her. know, I have a whole program called Fertility Framework and it's really important. But like if you have mold, like you gotta get that taken care of first ⁓ and might resolve all your issues. And if you're still having issues, then come ⁓ and with me. But ⁓ Aubrey is, you know, dealing with this mold issue and that could be a huge root issue for what we're dealing with. So very important. ⁓ We talked about your podcast, Mold Free Mom. Is there anything else you would like to share with our listeners for how they can find you? Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Yeah, mean, my page is pretty easy to find. It's moldfreemom.com, but that has everything it has. I have a blog on there with a ton of free information. My podcast is linked there so you can go and find the episodes that are the most interesting to you. I have that free 87 question mold symptom assessment on there. I offer free discovery calls. So really can get a lot of free information to get started if you suspect mold. And then of course, you know, if you do have mold and you're interested in working with me, I have a program that you can find on the website. Bekah Yawn: Perfect. Thank you so much, Aubrey. ⁓ I'm just gonna pray over us really quick and we'll wrap up with that. Father God, we come up for you and we thank you for Aubrey coming on and sharing her testimony today. Lord, ⁓ I so sorry for all of the sorrows that she has walked through over these years and how frustrating that is. And God, ⁓ we just give you the glory for how you are redeeming that experience that she lived through to serve so many other families and people, Lord. So we praise you for that. pray you would bless her ministry and her work that she does ⁓ and just bringing lots of healing to that. And I just pray over my sisters in Christ and Holy Spirit, just give you. I ask you to give them a strong discernment for like, ⁓ man, is this mold? Yes or no, and just guide them in ⁓ part of their journey for if that's something they might be dealing with. So Lord, we just lift up all these things to you. We thank you and praise you for being the good creator and the good leader, Lord, in our journeys for giving us peace along the way. In Jesus' we pray, amen. Aubree Felderhoff | Mold Fr...: Amen.
