- 0:11Welcome back to Jabba and the Mouth.
- 0:16We got a few more segments left tonight.
- 0:18We've had some really great segments, some good guests
- 0:21coming on. We got a couple of Floridians on
- 0:24the screen right now, a part time Floridian and a full time
- 0:27one, at least a vacationing New Yorker in Florida with Errol
- 0:31Marx joining us for the last hour of the show.
- 0:33And we've got Nick Goody in this in the studio.
- 0:36How we doing Goody? What up?
- 0:38Very good dude. See you.
- 0:39It's pretty crazy baseball going on.
- 0:43We saw come down to the wire with the Dodgers and the
- 0:46Phillies earlier tonight. They got a 2, nothing lead.
- 0:48Looks like Rokie Sasaki just firing it up there.
- 0:51But before we get into some baseball, and we're going to get
- 0:54to your segment a little bit goody, we got to hear about some
- 0:58Jabba rules. Rules, rules.
- 1:07Rules. All right, Jabba, here we go.
- 1:10What rules tonight? Well, we're going to go on.
- 1:16This is going to be what rules not to break on Jabba rules
- 1:20tonight. Jared Shaw is an Indonesian
- 1:24basketball player that is facing life in prison and possible
- 1:29execution for bringing $400.00 worth of gummies in Indonesia,
- 1:35in Indonesia. And he said he uses them as
- 1:38medicine. And the Indonesian Basketball
- 1:41League says that there is no place in this league for drug
- 1:45users and so he is up for possible execution.
- 1:49They have executed that last time was in 2016, but could be
- 1:54life in prison for $400.00 worth of gummies if we haven't learned
- 1:59now. Stop bringing drugs into other
- 2:01countries. Follow the rules.
- 2:04Don't break the rules, because that's Java rules.
- 2:09That kind of reminds me of that Brittany Griner story years ago.
- 2:12Where? Yeah, that's why that's it.
- 2:13It I was like, what are we like, what are we doing here?
- 2:17Like, come on. My God, Lee, that's really not
- 2:20that much. What it's not.
- 2:23And that's a quick they they search like there was a tip,
- 2:26they searched it and like I was like, this is they might execute
- 2:31him as in kill him. Yeah, So Southeast Asia is like
- 2:35that with drug offenses. I remember when I was a kid,
- 2:39there was a story, and I don't know if you remember this job,
- 2:41that in Singapore, in the region, there was a kid who went
- 2:44like an American that went there to like he was like spray
- 2:47painting a car. I'm pretty sure they gave him 10
- 2:49lashes. Like publicly I.
- 2:52Remember hearing that story? I know exactly.
- 2:53And then there was story like if you stole something there, cut
- 2:56off your hand, you know, like like this is like eye for an eye
- 3:00like coat of Hammurabi type stuff going on over there.
- 3:03Yeah, it's not. I saw that and I was like, what
- 3:05are like, what are we doing, people?
- 3:08North Korea, I don't know if anybody knows this story.
- 3:11A couple of years ago, there was a kid that went to North Korea
- 3:15to check out the city and, and all that.
- 3:17He was staying at a hotel and he went up to a hotel area that he
- 3:21wasn't supposed to and he stole something from that area.
- 3:24They found out, they sentenced him, they made him apologize to
- 3:28his family and all the United States and all this other stuff.
- 3:31He was pretty thrown away. The key they beat, they beat
- 3:35him. They did all this stuff to him.
- 3:36They didn't feed him. They finally got him back to
- 3:39America. He was practically in a
- 3:41wheelchair getting a feeding tube down his throat.
- 3:43And what happens to him? He dies a couple months later
- 3:46and nobody, nobody knows the story behind what happened to
- 3:51him and what how they treated him when he was in jail.
- 3:53All because I remember. That but I I they definitely
- 3:59abused him for sure. 100%. He was like in a coma when they
- 4:03send him back or something. Yep, Yep.
- 4:07All right guys, we have just a couple more things to do.
- 4:10One of them is the big reveal for Savior Tears.
- 4:15Mom, what's one thing that you can't talk to me about?
- 4:19My sexual fantasies? No.
- 4:23No, say your sorry. It is not ideal, but if it's
- 4:25what means it is not ideal, but if it is not ideal, but if it is
- 4:28what means you can't trouble double stamp.
- 4:31You can't treble stamp with double stamp Lord, you can't
- 4:33dribble stamp with double stamps.
- 4:35But but you guys. Now it's time for save your
- 4:41tear. All right, guys, we're going to
- 4:44do this quickly. This is the results, the
- 4:48compliment chorus again. The winner of Save Your Tears
- 4:52Every week gets long winded genuine compliments that have to
- 4:56be at least 51% genuine from all of the losers.
- 5:01Well, for week 5 we have quite an interesting result and we're
- 5:06going to have. So if you take a look at it, we
- 5:07had some. Interesting to back-to-back
- 5:09champion. Whoever took Bucky Irving, he
- 5:13didn't play. He got an injury designation
- 5:16after we. Did this Bucky I think?
- 5:18As far as tight ends, nobody took AJ Barner who was for
- 5:21$2.00, who was the leading scorer at the tight end position
- 5:24in all of football this week. But you know, a lot of guys did
- 5:27well. Mecca Buka was a big name this
- 5:29week. Let's see who ends up winning.
- 5:32Save your tears for Week 5. And Oh my God, it's the South
- 5:37African legend himself. Second time in three weeks.
- 5:42Nithya Mania with another win, 88 points, 2nd place.
- 5:49Speedy PD Arrow Marks keeping up his FedEx Cup standings in 3rd
- 5:55with 81 .98. Didn't I pick Bucky Irving?
- 5:59Did I pick Bucky Irving? I.
- 6:00Did if you didn't take them you would have won?
- 6:02Yeah, I would have won. Yeah, you would have won if you.
- 6:05Just took Kenneth Walker for a dollar, it would have been
- 6:08enough. To win.
- 6:10Other big performers. DAC had the big game for
- 6:13quarterbacks. Baker was right behind them.
- 6:16Mecca Buca was the leading wide receiver at tight end.
- 6:20Ferguson for Dallas had a big game as well.
- 6:24So Nathans, not here. We're going to do these like
- 6:27we're writing to a pen pal. We're just going to give them a
- 6:29little love real quick. And we'll start off with our
- 6:32last place finisher for this week, which is Tommy.
- 6:35Then I'll go, then Jarrett and then Jabba.
- 6:38Then our medalists started off Tommy Scoops.
- 6:41All right, Mr. He was short. Mr. Nitin, Yeah, Mr. Nitin, if
- 6:46you're watching this, just no, man, you did it, man.
- 6:48You did it back-to-back weeks. You know, like you said, it's
- 6:51hard to get one week. You did it back-to-back week.
- 6:53So I hope you're having a very safe trip over there in Africa,
- 6:56Hope making sure you know you're very victorious over there.
- 6:59So yeah, man, have a safe trip and you were the champ.
- 7:01Now back-to-back weeks. All right now.
- 7:05I'm going to give you mine Nitin in in a language that that can
- 7:10be understood where you are currently in the globe.
- 7:13Here's my answer. No, that's just the beginning of
- 7:25The Lion King. The Lion King, when he holds
- 7:28Simba up, he may as well Rafiki have been holding up baby Nathan
- 7:33because baby Nathan became the king of the jungle, the king of
- 7:39the Pride Lands, the King of Savior Tears.
- 7:44That was actually really good. I thought you were going to go
- 7:47with Ebonics. So everything that the light
- 7:49touches belongs to Nathan. Literally everything unless Scar
- 7:53shows up. Oh.
- 7:54Yeah, Scott, that'll be a big problem if scar shows.
- 7:58Up. All right.
- 7:58Who's up next? Jared, I heard.
- 8:00I heard somebody doing something.
- 8:02Congratulations, hope you're enjoying South Africa.
- 8:06Congratulations, the big win. It always hurts when the person
- 8:08who wins have three of the five same picks as you.
- 8:11Also shout out for showing up in the stream for all three whole
- 8:14seconds. Just enough to make me look
- 8:16crazy for saying what's up Nathan in the chat.
- 8:19That is true. I did see him pop in for a
- 8:21second. I didn't see a pop.
- 8:23It's like it's like 4 in the morning over there for Nathan
- 8:25too. All right, who we got next we
- 8:27got Mr. Jabba Chamberlain. Yeah, Nathan, hope you're having
- 8:32fun. I'm glad you could stop in to
- 8:35see us for 14 seconds as you probably woke up to pee in the
- 8:37middle of the night. Hopefully you didn't shake it
- 8:41too many times or you got a crazy bug up in your pee hole.
- 8:47Hope you're staying safe, having fun and come back in one piece.
- 8:50We miss you, buddy. All right, let's go on to our
- 8:54bronze medal finisher, Errol. Marx.
- 8:59Well, Nathan, you know what I feel about me.
- 9:00Oh, I think you're sensational. Everything that you do is is
- 9:03great. You could be a pain in the ass
- 9:05sometimes, but I love you. I hope you're not flying in
- 9:08helicopters too often because it's dangerous.
- 9:11You're putting yourself at risk. I I don't find it to be very
- 9:14safe when you're up on that helicopter.
- 9:16But besides that, congratulations for feeding us
- 9:19once again. And by the way, after that, I'm
- 9:22going to go good luck to goody and goodies.
- 9:24Bag of balls, Jabba. I'm going to watch Monster on
- 9:28Netflix. I'm I'm up to the third episode.
- 9:32I'm actually enjoying it. It's so weird.
- 9:34It's crazy, it's freaky. I'm enjoying it.
- 9:37I've. Been meaning.
- 9:39To watch. That's that's with your boy the
- 9:42Leatherface, right? Leatherface baby.
- 9:44Yes, it dropped yesterday. I believe.
- 9:46Right. Oh, you didn't want to talk
- 9:48about NFL rigging the games? No, I'm not going to talk about
- 9:52that until I get back on Thursday.
- 9:53Don't you worry. I got that all, all set up
- 9:55because I've been saying that for the last 10 years and now
- 9:59everybody's saying it. I don't get any credit for any
- 10:02of my take, by the way. Nobody gives me credit, Speedy.
- 10:05How long I've been, How long have I been saying that?
- 10:07How long as? Long as I knew.
- 10:09You as long. As long as I know you as well,
- 10:12That is a true statement. Errol has been.
- 10:14Saying Rodney Dangerfield, I get no respect.
- 10:19I get no respect. I finally get some respect.
- 10:23I don't have the eyes. I don't have the googly eyes.
- 10:25But love you guys. I'll see you guys when I get
- 10:27back booty. I'll see you all Wednesday.
- 10:32All right, So what is our civil medalist?
- 10:34I believe it's Speedy. Yeah, so also, I also took Bucky
- 10:37Irving, which I would have been backfired.
- 10:39Like I was thinking either Errol and I could win because we had a
- 10:41lot of the similar picks. We both had DAC, we both had one
- 10:43cowboy each, but we both took Bucky Irving, which backfired.
- 10:46But for you, Nathan, I hope you have a great trip over there in
- 10:49South Africa. You reign supreme as the leader
- 10:53of the jungle. And now all those animals will
- 10:56be wearing your blue Blazers and sipping gin and gins and tonics
- 10:59to celebrate your back-to-back. Probably the first time in
- 11:03Savior Cheers champ history. Back-to-back champion.
- 11:07So are they wearing his blue Blazers and he's like holding
- 11:10them on a leash as animals over? There as as.
- 11:13Well, the leash is a theory that has to be determined because the
- 11:17they are quite big predatory creatures out there with the
- 11:22African wilderness. But since he is now the king,
- 11:24his leash has now been upgraded. So I hear vocabulary is amazing,
- 11:29those big predatorial creatures. The leash has now.
- 11:32Got to me, Tommy. You need to cut predatorial
- 11:35creatures in the African wilderness for us, please.
- 11:37Thank you, The leash has now. Gotten a super level of upgrade
- 11:41and now it can do that. I I will definitely get AI right
- 11:46on trying to make that picture that you just described for
- 11:49next. Week.
- 11:50For the show on Thursday, I will have to look back.
- 11:52At it Creatures in the African wilderness.
- 11:56Yeah, that, that's one way to put it.
- 11:58We've got a lot of, we got one segment left, fellas, and that's
- 12:02one of our favorites. He's here, he's ready.
- 12:06It's time for goodies. Bag of balls my.
- 12:08Mom is going to wire a car battery with my testicles.
- 12:11Trying to put Tiger Bomb on this jungle's nuts.
- 12:14Goodies Bag of balls. That's how you become great man.
- 12:17Hang your balls out there. Goodness.
- 12:21All right, all right, Goody. Welcome back.
- 12:24Good to see you my friend. OK I'm just watching the game
- 12:29right now. George TS got called strike two
- 12:31on a ball like 3 inches off the plate and gets an infield
- 12:34single. Baseball has a way for itself.
- 12:38Going to be a lot of this next year they've been.
- 12:41Bad tonight, umpires. Yeah, there's going to be some
- 12:44challenges, but I'm not going to talk challenges.
- 12:47I'm here to talk about Mark. Mark Sanchez, your boy Jabba
- 12:50getting stabbed. Do you hear about this?
- 12:54Yeah, I haven't heard about it. Where?
- 12:56Have you been? Yeah, it's been crazy.
- 12:58I've been at the baseball field, so I've just heard about it.
- 13:02Former NFL quarterback and current Fox analyst Mark Sanchez
- 13:06was involved in a violent altercation in Indianapolis in
- 13:08the early morning hours of a Saturday.
- 13:11Dispute reportedly began over a parking issue relating to a
- 13:15truck driver who was 69 years old working at a hotel loading
- 13:18dock. Sanchez allegedly confronted the
- 13:21man, attempted to enter or interfere with his vehicle, and
- 13:25a physical confrontation ensued. The driver claimed self-defense.
- 13:30He used pepper spray and subsequently stabbed Sanchez.
- 13:34Sanchez suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper torso and
- 13:38was hospitalized. I don't know if you saw the
- 13:41video of Mark Sanchez walking, but what a monster.
- 13:47And I don't know if you saw the picture of the guy that he
- 13:49absolutely demolished but damn I don't even know where to begin
- 13:57with this story aside from the fact like dude got stabbed,
- 14:01looked like a couple times in the in the abdomen area, and
- 14:04still was freaking hammered enough to walk to wherever he
- 14:07needed to go. Pretty impressive.
- 14:11I mean, I can't really comment on what happened that night
- 14:16specifically to lead to that situation.
- 14:20The after effects were pretty obvious that a former
- 14:24professional athlete beat up an old man and the old man.
- 14:29Pepper spray, dude, he got pepper sprayed and the old man.
- 14:32Fought back with whatever he had, which included pepper spray
- 14:36and I guess a pocket knife or a switch, you know, some kind of
- 14:39switchblade that he had protecting his truck or
- 14:42something. And Sanchez was so belligerently
- 14:45drunk that he either, you know, it was something like that.
- 14:48He was backing into a loading dock and Sanchez didn't want him
- 14:52at that loading dock for some reason.
- 14:55I which I I don't know. What the hell was he doing at
- 14:57the loading I. I, I don't know, I, you know,
- 14:59maybe he was waiting for a limo with a couple of, you know,
- 15:03couple of friends to go out back there, you know, to leave
- 15:06without anyone seeing them or paparazzi.
- 15:08I don't know what you famous people do.
- 15:10All I know is this story sucks for Mark Sanchez.
- 15:14It sucks for the guy involved. Obviously he was supposed to
- 15:17call a game the next day, I believe for Fox Sports, for
- 15:21football and Brady. Quinn filled in for him.
- 15:24Brady Quinn filled in for him. Mark Sanchez has been pretty
- 15:27good on the air. I look some guys, some guys,
- 15:31they just party all the time. I just watched that Charlie
- 15:33Sheen documentary. I'm like how?
- 15:36Good. That's such a good documentary.
- 15:38That dude didn't stop partying until he literally had HIV.
- 15:42And then I think he's partied for another two years before he
- 15:44stopped. And like, I'm serious.
- 15:48Some guys just like some guys just that's how they are.
- 15:51They're just going to rock out like that.
- 15:52They're going to party all the time.
- 15:54They're going to drink until they're 80 years old and that's
- 15:56fine. Like John Daly, you know, he's
- 15:58like I, I get it. But some guys there's a time
- 16:02where you got to stop and you got to change up how you're
- 16:04doing it, how you're partying. I have a feeling Mark Sanchez
- 16:08may need to change up a little bit.
- 16:10And I think if there's a wake up call, I would imagine this is
- 16:13probably it. Yeah, no, I, I don't know.
- 16:20I don't I don't know how it goes to blows like that, but
- 16:23apparently the guy was like unloading his truck or
- 16:26something. So it was like somebody who
- 16:28worked there, I think, and he just got up in his face.
- 16:30But here's the thing, like we can make all these allegations,
- 16:33but we will never know the absolute truth to we can kind of
- 16:36tie this into the Kyron Lacy thing with LSU.
- 16:38And now that it's coming out that he was actually innocent
- 16:41and you know, social media crushed him until ultimately he
- 16:47couldn't take it anymore. So, you know, who knows what's
- 16:50going to happen with that, but we'll wait and see the.
- 16:54After effects with that are a lot, a lot harder to believe
- 16:57with what happened with Kyra Lacey as well.
- 16:59And I don't know how much it lingered in terms of the overall
- 17:02effects, but you definitely believe it has to have do some
- 17:04with it. And now that coming out later is
- 17:07just such unfortunate timing. Now this is a different case
- 17:10where you use like pepper spray, there's a stabbing like all of a
- 17:13sudden over like a truck and loading dock.
- 17:17Video evidence. They have video evidence.
- 17:18No, I know. He's screwed.
- 17:21It's video evidence of both of them actually.
- 17:22But the Chiron Lace thing, they have real crazy video evidence
- 17:26that his lawyer found out that the Louisiana police were trying
- 17:30to. I don't know what their
- 17:32collusion with the. Timing of it makes you believe
- 17:35there has to be something with it and it's just unfortunate for
- 17:37somebody. So you don't want to believe
- 17:39it's a racial thing down in the Bayou like that.
- 17:43It's that's a really crappy story and back.
- 17:46Oh yeah, I mean, we don't know. I don't know what I don't even I
- 17:49didn't watch the Bert video first say the the police Cam
- 17:53footage. But you're talking about Kyle
- 17:55and Lacey as a potential first round draft pick.
- 17:57So it's like. Yeah, Malik neighbors, you know,
- 18:00was had some comments online. He was that was his guy that
- 18:03they played together. And you know, it's, it's got to
- 18:06be real tough, you know, to even swallow that if you were friends
- 18:10with him, let alone family members with him.
- 18:12That's that's terrible. As far as the Mark Sanchez, Mark
- 18:15Sanchez is I I think Tyron Lacy was the victim there.
- 18:18And Mark Sanchez apparently is not the victim in this.
- 18:20He's the aggressor. He's the aggressor in this.
- 18:24I mean, look, we we don't know, but you know, I, I just hope
- 18:27that everybody involved in that story kind of writes their
- 18:30writes the ship some possible way.
- 18:32Jabba, you know Mark Sanchez a little bit from your time
- 18:34together in New York around the same time.
- 18:37Yeah, you send a well wish. Yeah, it was, it was.
- 18:43It's, it's such a weird story. Like This is why it's tough to
- 18:47do sometimes what we do, right? Like, because you want to talk
- 18:51about something because obviously it's news and
- 18:54everybody's touching on it, but it's hard to create.
- 18:56And then then you kind of put your foot in your mouth because
- 18:59you don't really get the whole story until sometimes maybe it's
- 19:02too late because you know, this all comes out and some people
- 19:04covered it when they first heard.
- 19:06And obviously you want, you want him to be safe, but you don't
- 19:09know the whole story. Then this comes out and it's
- 19:11like, damn, do you, do you really hope he's OK?
- 19:13Like it's, it's just, it's hard to do sometimes, man.
- 19:16Obviously you hope everybody's OK in the situation.
- 19:19And, and like I said, there's, there's three people that that's
- 19:22going to know him, Mark and the good man upstairs.
- 19:25And that's, that's going to be about it.
- 19:28And it's, it's going to be whatever, but just hope, hope
- 19:31everybody's OK and it turns out all right, man.
- 19:33It's a, it's a shitty situation to be honest.
- 19:36And there's, there's a no win really.
- 19:38Anyways. So yeah, it just, it stinks all
- 19:42around. I mean, you can't even make
- 19:44jokes about like it's like you can make jokes, but what's the
- 19:47even the point? Like the whole situation such
- 19:49like a crappy joke in the 1st place.
- 19:51It's just like man, that's that just sucks.
- 19:54Like I, I don't know man, that that's just.
- 19:56It sucks for every. Story.
- 19:57It sucks. Literally.
- 19:59It's not a good story for a single person involved, you
- 20:02know? Crazy.
- 20:04What do you got goody? What's ball 2?
- 20:08NFL conspiracy NFL rigging NFLESPN financial entanglement
- 20:15conspiracy theory gaining traction as Errol would say,
- 20:17he's been saying it for the past 35 years.
- 20:20Because the NFL owns a 10% stake in ESPN, and ESPN is deeply
- 20:26involved in sports broadcasting and betting media, some believe
- 20:29that the league might influence outcomes.
- 20:31Officiating our narratives to boost ratings, gambling
- 20:35engagement or profits close financial connections between
- 20:42the media betting and the sport race conflicts of interest.
- 20:45That's clearly we're seeing it in every single category where
- 20:49now you're seeing even it crossover into MLB with guys
- 20:51betting on certain pitches prior to the game.
- 20:55So the NFL, the NFL can do it, but individuals can't Like I, I,
- 21:00I don't know dude. My my biggest thing is then you
- 21:03have a ton of players come out and say the NFL is scripted.
- 21:07I don't know what'll be. Are they becoming like the extra
- 21:10glorified WWE right now? Like you said, not the
- 21:14direction. I'm not there.
- 21:16But to me it seems like it's a possibility.
- 21:18This is why it's a conspiracy theory that we got to cover on
- 21:23the show. Well.
- 21:24Yeah, Arian Foster was the one that brought up two years ago,
- 21:27right? Yeah, he said, hey, in like week
- 21:2917, you're going to blow your knee out.
- 21:30He's like, damn. And.
- 21:31He like he tried to post a picture with the document of the
- 21:35script and obviously Errol and I made it a segment at that time
- 21:38to magnify for Errol is right. He he said it a lot earlier than
- 21:42that. He the first time I remember him
- 21:43saying it was in 2018, the year after the the Patriots Falcons
- 21:48Super Bowl. He was saying like some
- 21:49commercials and stuff like that were making it look rigged,
- 21:51which I guess fits the theory with the money and especially
- 21:55now with the betting deal that the ESP or the the NFL deal,
- 21:59the. ESPN What's the deal?
- 22:00He lost the Chiefs game. With the, well with the.
- 22:02Chiefs. Yeah, I guess there's which one
- 22:04enough of them with. The any of them.
- 22:06Nothing with the Chiefs is definitely possible, but again,
- 22:09possibly with the Patriots too, with with that whole
- 22:11circumstance. So I remember I was doing a
- 22:13project in college at that time that had to do with like the
- 22:16NFL, like the Super Bowl going to overtime that year benefited
- 22:20some commercials or some companies to get extra
- 22:23commercials too, which is kind of interesting.
- 22:25So maybe now with belt betting accelerated too, it definitely
- 22:29could accelerate it. I was mentioning even when I was
- 22:31doing the picks last week, how many like 8 to 9/13/15 point
- 22:35spreads were so many crazy ones that I was saying that would
- 22:38make no sense. So maybe that has to go into it.
- 22:40It's definitely interesting. I'm probably more accelerated
- 22:43with the conspiracy because of the betting, but.
- 22:46Probably even more so with the commercials and the marketing
- 22:48already. So I'm going to push back.
- 22:52I don't think football's rigged. I think there's too many things
- 22:55going on in the game with just on every single play.
- 22:59There's 130 to plus plays every game.
- 23:03There's a lot that can go wrong. Now, do I think in the Super
- 23:06Bowl, maybe they're telling to officiate it a certain way.
- 23:09That's probably true. I I, you know, in certain games
- 23:12that they in the NFC championship game, maybe they
- 23:14want a specific team in the Super Bowl.
- 23:16I'm willing to believe in some of those conspiracies, but to
- 23:18say that everything's rigged, I think that's a little nuts.
- 23:21I think that. Maybe that maybe the bigger
- 23:23games, the bigger market games are rigged.
- 23:26That maybe. Kansas City Chiefs are rigged.
- 23:31Well, they lost again tonight to the Jags.
- 23:33My Night Football. I'm sure we'll talk about it on
- 23:35Thursday. The Chiefs only have one win,
- 23:37two wins this year. How much money?
- 23:39I wonder how much money was bet on them to lose and by who?
- 23:43I mean, you never know. I.
- 23:45Wonder. If it was baseball, we'd be
- 23:47betting on if the first six pitches go in the dirt for
- 23:50Emmanuel Class A and making a huge fortune.
- 23:54You know, the prop bet thing is something that's real in
- 23:57football. I think it's a little bit harder
- 23:58to accomplish those prop bets unless you're the one holding
- 24:02the football making those decisions.
- 24:03It's not like you can get rebounds for for your stats like
- 24:07you can in basketball. I think it's a lot harder as
- 24:10like from that way to rig a game.
- 24:12But can the league shape the the season the way they want it to?
- 24:16I think they've done it and I think they continue to do so.
- 24:19I I would say I'll agree with that.
- 24:21But the rest of it, I don't think so.
- 24:23The one thing it's. Actually easier for in football
- 24:25is because there's a shorter season.
- 24:26Like it's easier to say, all right, we one more game could
- 24:29help this team get in. Then all of a sudden you can get
- 24:32the desired outcome or desired matchup to get the money revenue
- 24:35to get the playoff matchup that you want to.
- 24:37That or maybe is more controllable compared to
- 24:40basketball where there's 82 games.
- 24:41It's hard to control. Basketball is probably easier
- 24:43for the player to manipulate than the if it were to be in
- 24:46football. But yeah, for a shorter season
- 24:49for football, it's easier. I'm I may be able to get on the
- 24:54show a former referee that was with Bevetta and knows Tim
- 25:00Donaghy and was actually in this.
- 25:03He was one of the guys that was an undercover cop that was like
- 25:07in the mob as an undercover cop before he was an NBA referee.
- 25:11So remind me, I think I can get that guy on to see if we can get
- 25:14some real rigging stories. He might not be.
- 25:18He might not be at Bay to say though, you know?
- 25:21I think he's retired. So I think this is a guy that
- 25:24may tell us. Guys like to tell you stories,
- 25:27you know, Jabba. What do you think, man?
- 25:32I, I think there's some of it in, in every sport to an extent
- 25:36it there, there's just so many things that we've seen where it
- 25:41just it, it's hard not to believe it to, to some degree,
- 25:45especially when like you're already in pocket with the
- 25:48betting and you're getting money like and when where there's
- 25:53smoke, there's fire, right? It's like an iceberg, what you
- 25:56just see on the surface, but there's so much more to to what,
- 26:01like you said, do you do you? I think all of it is, and I
- 26:03agree with you, fish. I don't think it all is, but are
- 26:06there are there some things like is it, is it scripted to?
- 26:10And I remember that Aaron Foster like they showed like the pieces
- 26:13of paper and it was highlighted or whatever.
- 26:15Like I there's, there's got to be something to it if we've if
- 26:22it keeps repeating itself, right?
- 26:24I, I just don't know what I, I would hope it's not crazy
- 26:28embedded in the game, but it's just like how I, I just, it's,
- 26:33it's very hypocritical to me that you can own 10% of it and
- 26:37affect affected that like affected that way, But you get a
- 26:42guy like Boo. What's to stop me from throwing
- 26:46this incomplete pass at the end of the third quarter?
- 26:48Because there's a lot, you know what I'm saying?
- 26:49Like not that they know that exact one, but it's like
- 26:53anything. It's like the, the dude singing
- 26:55the national anthem. I'm giving all my buddies 100
- 26:58grand because they said I'm going to go under a minute and
- 27:0042 seconds and I'm just going to make it longer.
- 27:04Like it's kind of the same thing, just on a different
- 27:07scale. But I think there's some
- 27:09validity to it. I don't think it's totally
- 27:12embedded in it. It's good.
- 27:15I mean, it's a good, it's a good topic.
- 27:17It's good, it's good. We need to have two like in
- 27:20goodies bag of balls when it comes up.
- 27:22Like there's got to be like a UFO sighting in like the top
- 27:24right corner or something, just because always.
- 27:26I got I got this one. Where is it?
- 27:31You got 1 crazier. A screwball.
- 27:36I mean, there's definitely a few out there.
- 27:38There's a guy who like picked up a meteor in Brazil or something
- 27:41and now it's turning to looking like a venom.
- 27:44You have to go down the rabbit hole in that one.
- 27:46I'm sure you see that on social media.
- 27:48That's that. Is a wild.
- 27:50One wait, you're telling me there are Venoms in Brazil?
- 27:52Is that what you just said? I think it's in Brazil, Yeah.
- 27:55I don't know. I mean, I'm like on the fence
- 27:57with that one. I'm not too sure.
- 27:59I haven't really looked into it too much.
- 28:00It's popped up on my feeds a couple times and I've kind of
- 28:03just dabbled in it, but I'm not like bullying it because I think
- 28:06that sounds kind of BS, but you know, it's, they're there,
- 28:11they're out there. Oh no, they're, they're for
- 28:13sure. And there's some you're just
- 28:15like, oh, that, that, that really, I can't argue with it.
- 28:20And then there's some are like, what, what is he smoking?
- 28:23Because that's the one from the Brazil one.
- 28:28Like like the, that's the one. I'm just like, I don't know,
- 28:31man. It looks like a potato, you
- 28:32know, And now, then and now he's like CGI and some Venom shit
- 28:37that's just like coming out everywhere and like wrapping
- 28:39around things. It's kind of wild looking.
- 28:41I mean, you get a wild hair. I would just go down it and take
- 28:45a look. But the last fall I got is MLB
- 28:49viewership is surging during the wild card round and on into the
- 28:55AL and NL divisional series. ESPN coverage of 2025 MLB wild
- 29:02card game Saul record viewership, especially among
- 29:05younger fans. I think everybody is doing this
- 29:086 seven thing, whatever that is, but.
- 29:12It this. Right here suggests that MLB is
- 29:15here and it's here to stay. We've got we've got a really
- 29:17good strong appeal for the younger fans and and all the
- 29:21games were high stake. I think they all came down to
- 29:24game three maybe -1 Series in LA and just being around youth
- 29:31baseball. You can tell the kids are fired
- 29:33up about it, super excited, like actually genuinely wanting to
- 29:36watch the game and watch their favorite players.
- 29:39And it's good to have a good mix of, you know, star power and
- 29:43then, you know, bigger market teams and then these smaller
- 29:46market teams that are planned. Like, listen, the Brewers are
- 29:49just unbelievable. Like, and you asked any of the
- 29:53kids now and they probably maybe know one or two guys on the
- 29:57Brewers maybe. And so well, what's crazy goody,
- 30:01what's crazy too? And why I think like it has, you
- 30:05know, surge and it is continues to go up is because they've
- 30:09they've kind of tried to they've, I guess, adhered to
- 30:14like the cultural standards of what things are like, you know,
- 30:17you got to have drips swag, like, and they're letting them
- 30:20have it. Like Naylor, look at look at his
- 30:23arm sleeve in his shoes. Like little kids love that
- 30:26stuff, you know what I'm saying? And like just the individualism
- 30:30that they let him do with their gloves, their spikes where it
- 30:33used to be. You could never do it.
- 30:35Then it was players weekend right now it's kind of it's kind
- 30:40of just grown into like now let's let them be there.
- 30:44You know, to to a degree, like you're not going to be Mr. T and
- 30:48like have 38 chains on. You can wear one or two.
- 30:51Used to be just one. Now some people get away with
- 30:53two. But you can have custom cleats
- 30:55all the time and like kids see that and it's like, oh, it's
- 30:59cool to play baseball. Like I can design my cleats or,
- 31:02you know, now bats have dope logos instead of just the plain
- 31:05just east in Louisville, just whatever.
- 31:08So I think and then now, you know, you got pencil bats,
- 31:11you've got all these kind of super cool lollipop bats or ice
- 31:14cream nuts. Well, and that's like, you see
- 31:18it, you see it obviously from the youth level with your kids.
- 31:20And like, you know, they're, oh, I got the trouts or I've got,
- 31:24you know, whoever's cleats. Like where that really wasn't a
- 31:27thing in baseball. It was always basketball
- 31:29related. And so I think they've done a
- 31:31really good job that's brought in for younger.
- 31:35Yeah, the younger, the younger generation, because the baseball
- 31:39old ads are going to be baseball dads.
- 31:41They're going to be the ones that are fighting with the young
- 31:43kids that create dialogue. Be like if you would have known
- 31:46back in the day when they could have slid into second, knock
- 31:48each other out, fought and then got back up and stayed in the
- 31:51in, like you're going to be brought back.
- 31:54Just my opinion. I think if we could have
- 31:57baseball blend a little bit of hockey rules into it where like
- 32:02if both players agree and they throw their gloves down, it's on
- 32:07UNC viewership 100X. Well, I mean, you just there.
- 32:13I remember stories back in the day and you probably heard him
- 32:15too. It was like one of my favorite
- 32:17ones was literally Hark, who obviously, you know as well, the
- 32:21bullpen coach, which was crazy. He was in the Ken Griffey
- 32:24Junior. He was supposed to be the number
- 32:26one pick. They they ended up taking a dude
- 32:28named Ken Griffey Junior instead of my car.
- 32:30Love Hark to death. That is my dude.
- 32:32Like to this day, we still talk, but I think they made the right
- 32:35pick in old Griffey. But they literally Sean Dunstan
- 32:39and Ryan Sandberg. They're literally like I think I
- 32:42don't remember who was throwing, but Dustin took off his chain
- 32:45was like, hold this, I'm going to get him.
- 32:46They hit our guy, they fought, they both dust each other off.
- 32:49They got back in the box and it was over.
- 32:51Like I love seeing that stuff. If you, if you could get, but
- 32:56how do you balance that? And then, you know, everybody's
- 32:59like, oh, there's no place for retaliation.
- 33:00Well, sticking up for your team mates in the right way.
- 33:03There's something to be said about it.
- 33:06If you could balance it out, it'd be sweet.
- 33:08I, I mean, you know, like what you maybe you, I mean, listen,
- 33:13they're changing the game how it is.
- 33:14Just let the boys fight a little bit.
- 33:16You know, that's kind of my point.
- 33:18And I was thinking about Goody is I think it's, you know,
- 33:21Errol, you know, pushes back on some of the changes.
- 33:24Theo Epstein, who's been working with baseball after he's, you
- 33:29know, left managing historic franchises with historic wins,
- 33:33starting with Boston, moving on now, this guy is now responsible
- 33:39for a lot of this, you know, ABS stuff that we're going to see
- 33:41next year. These the bigger bases, the
- 33:45faster games, the pitch clock. Apparently it's working.
- 33:50That's what that's my take from this.
- 33:53The stuff they're doing is working.
- 33:54They're getting a young audience.
- 33:56They're trying to. This is what they've been trying
- 33:59to do. Maybe they didn't tell us all
- 34:01the things they were trying to do as far as attracting the
- 34:03youth, but obviously making the game quicker, having there be
- 34:07less downtime, have it be, I guess, more exciting for kids
- 34:11who are just stuck looking at phones all day for the most
- 34:14part. In New York, they actually
- 34:16banned phones in school. So it's kind of wild to see kids
- 34:19operate without phones from 7:30 to 2:00 every day.
- 34:23You know, like they just like fiend for it, like crackheads at
- 34:25times, you know, like they just need to go run to their locker
- 34:29and get on their phone. Or like they try to find a way
- 34:31around it with a Chromebook or something like that and still
- 34:34talk to their friends and do that with their same stuff.
- 34:36It's it's wild. And I think you have to, it's a
- 34:38different generation. And the fact that they're making
- 34:41some games with a very difficult generation to reach, in my
- 34:45opinion, I think that's that's a pretty big deal for baseball
- 34:48going forwards. And I think Theo Epstein
- 34:50deserves a bunch of credit. It's also one of those things I
- 34:54think you look at like strategy game in baseball, like the the
- 34:58aspect of it being an untimed thing.
- 35:00And now you're incorporating new strategies and whether it would
- 35:03work or not to try to accommodate for the speed and
- 35:05accommodate for the pace of some of these younger fans that are
- 35:08just going to want to watch the game for the excitement, not as
- 35:11much for the strategy. Like you see a lot of the people
- 35:14even my age or even older than that, or players of your era and
- 35:17even before that, that appreciate the game's nuances.
- 35:20You're not getting that as much as city was.
- 35:22Some of these younger fans, unfortunately, like you would in
- 35:25basketball or you wouldn't football as the highlight reel
- 35:27things too. And it's just harder with also
- 35:29the local TV networks with everything that happened at them
- 35:31to them trying to get back on track.
- 35:33We've had a lot of different guests that have mentioned
- 35:34that's been the biggest downfall with baseball.
- 35:36But now that that's getting getting picked up again, now
- 35:38you're going to see the results. No, definitely.
- 35:42I, I mean, I think it would just think the changes will, you
- 35:46know, everything heals with time and you know, it's always a
- 35:49culture shock when they make the changes right off the rib.
- 35:52But I mean things are still being implemented.
- 35:57The ABS will be coming here like you mentioned last year, you
- 36:02know, put the new playoff rules every or the new playoff format
- 36:05and everything, which I think has been pretty good.
- 36:07The the pitch clock and the the only you can, you know, each
- 36:11pitcher has to face 3 hitters and then you can only pick off X
- 36:15amount of times. Like at some point it'll just be
- 36:19like, oh, wait, you played in the 90s.
- 36:22Like, Oh, my gosh, that was barbaric, you know, But if we're
- 36:26getting younger kids and the game is safer, you know, as long
- 36:30as as long as the youth is still watching it and baseball is
- 36:32still a thing, which I think, you know, it is.
- 36:35And it's here to stay and it always has been here to stay.
- 36:37It's America's pastime. I think we're in a good spot.
- 36:40And if you think Theo Epstein deserves the credit, then, yeah,
- 36:43give credit where credit's due. I mean, there's always going to
- 36:46be people who want to push back. But at the end of the day, like,
- 36:49hey, viewership is surging. You know what that means?
- 36:52Bigger TV deals, bigger TV deals.
- 36:54We have more money in these guys pockets so.
- 36:58Amen. How can you argue with that?
- 37:00You're saying a good thing baseball's in a good place right
- 37:03now, or at least a better place than it was, and we're in a
- 37:06better place right now because we just finished the show.
- 37:08That's been a great show tonight, guys.
- 37:10I thought it was a real good show.
- 37:12Special thanks to Thomas Caranante fan side is content
- 37:16director, Co host of the Yanks Go Yard podcast.
- 37:19Follow him at X at Tommy's under score takes and find his channel
- 37:24on YouTube. He was fantastic.
- 37:26Really good stuff on the Yankees earlier tonight.
- 37:29We had a lot of fun. Thanks.
- 37:30Special thanks to Jake and Armando Horda coming on talking
- 37:34about their beloved Penn State Nittany Lions and the struggles
- 37:38they're dealing with over here. And a real special thanks to our
- 37:42intern Jared, who did all the work backstage as a producer for
- 37:45the first time while I'm here in the in the host chair.
- 37:48That's a great job by you, Jared.
- 37:49Thank you for all the work that you put in tonight, was.
- 37:52Jared was rocking a jersey too. What jersey was he rocking?
- 37:54Yeah, Jared, come on into the the screen.
- 37:56You deserve to be in here for a little bit at the end of the
- 37:59show. You got some kind of Basketball
- 38:01Jersey going where we got you. I'll, I'll do it Speedy.
- 38:07Here, here, I'll bounce out. No.
- 38:09No, you're fine. It's just me and Speedy are
- 38:10having a war of who's going to add us, add Jarrett right now
- 38:13with our clicker fingers. Jarrett, I think you might be
- 38:16frozen. So we're not going to see it
- 38:18right now, unfortunately. But Jarrett's done a great job
- 38:22for us. Errol will be back.
- 38:25We're not having the show on Wednesday because he's not going
- 38:27to be back. So we're going to have it on
- 38:28Thursday. So pay attention.
- 38:30The show will be on Thursday. By then, we'll know if the
- 38:33Yankees are going to Game 5 or we're doing a post mortem on the
- 38:36season. Also Thursday, speedy, the
- 38:38Giants face the Eagles. We're going to have to do the
- 38:41show live while that's going on. I don't know if I can handle
- 38:45that. That's going to be tough.
- 38:46One. I think they're going to get
- 38:47absolutely murdered. It's it's not good.
- 38:50It's not a good look for the Giants.
- 38:52But maybe the Eagles are a little, you know, struggling a
- 38:55little bit. Maybe Brian Dabel and Shane
- 38:57Bowen will cook something up for him.
- 38:59Speedy to only. Lose by 14.
- 39:04Honestly, if they lose, I guess losing is losing at this point,
- 39:07but I do hope it's a little bit competitive.
- 39:10Well, it should be good on Thursday.
- 39:11Who do you who do we have coming on Thursday?
- 39:13Alright, well, thanks to the the new King of the Jungle for
