- 0:00Speaker 1: And Mark on demand by setting up pre Sad for
- 0:04Speaker 1: his podcast on the iHeartRadio app.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Now back to Mark Simon on woor.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 0:15Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:16Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark. I'm doing very well. Thank you Mark.
- 0:19Speaker 4: I recently had dinner at Morton's and it got me
- 0:22Speaker 4: to thinking about restaurant reviewers. If I may, I have
- 0:26Speaker 4: two fast questions, if you please, Oh god, I'm sorry, sir,
- 0:32Speaker 4: go ahead, Oh thank you. In this era of social media,
- 0:36Speaker 4: is it more difficult to maintain anonymity? And lastly, have
- 0:41Speaker 4: you yourself ever participated in a restaurant review?
- 0:44Speaker 3: Oh?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Many times. Yes. I used to go on restaurant reviews
- 0:46Speaker 1: with critics from the Times from a Yeah, a review
- 0:51Speaker 1: is usually the reviewer has to take three other people.
- 0:54Speaker 1: It's always a table of four. One guy's always the
- 0:57Speaker 1: wine expert, one guy's to this expert. That way, you see,
- 1:01Speaker 1: they need to order a lot of dishes for each review.
- 1:04Speaker 1: They usually go three or four times, and you got
- 1:06Speaker 1: to order like four or five of every entree, four
- 1:09Speaker 1: or five of every appetizer each time. So that's why
- 1:11Speaker 1: they need a bunch of people and the restaurant can
- 1:14Speaker 1: usually spot it's a review because everybody's passing everything to
- 1:17Speaker 1: each other. Everybody's taking a bite and passing around. But
- 1:21Speaker 1: now you went to Morton's. Why din'd you go to Gibson's.
- 1:23Speaker 1: You got the one of the best steakhouses in the
- 1:25Speaker 1: world in Chicago, Gibsons.
- 1:28Speaker 4: That's something that's on my to do list.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Well do it. It's a great place.
- 1:34Speaker 4: All right, Dave Well, I will take your recommendation.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Thank you, Mark, thanks for calling. That's in what they
- 1:39Speaker 1: call the Viagra Triangle. It's in Chicago, in the Gold Coast.
- 1:44Speaker 1: There's three big streets that form like a triangle, and
- 1:47Speaker 1: there's all these great restaurants in there, Gibson's, Hugo's, and
- 1:51Speaker 1: the bar is like a lot of older, very wealthy
- 1:54Speaker 1: guys and a lot of young bimbo types looking to
- 1:57Speaker 1: land these wealthy gethers. So that's why they call it
- 1:59Speaker 1: the Via Triangle. Seriously, just if you're in Chicago and
- 2:03Speaker 1: you're getting a cab and you say take me the
- 2:05Speaker 1: Viagra Triangle, he'll take you right. It's a common term there.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Let's go to Rich and Myrtle Beach.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Rich, how you doing, Hey, Thanks, Mark, Good morning David,
- 2:14Speaker 3: and good morning Vincent, and happy birthday. Ringo start eighty
- 2:17Speaker 3: six years old. I feel old.
- 2:19Speaker 1: He's eighty six.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I know, eighty six eighty unbelievable.
- 2:24Speaker 1: He was the oldest Beatle. He was a couple of
- 2:25Speaker 1: years older than that guy.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Yeah, Paul just turned what eighty four? John would have
- 2:30Speaker 3: been eighty five year Oh my god, it seemed like
- 2:34Speaker 3: yesterday when he had Sullivan Show, an Abbey Road came out,
- 2:37Speaker 3: and now Ringo's going to be eighty six years old.
- 2:39Speaker 3: My dad, who will be ninety nine in November, said
- 2:42Speaker 3: he felt old when his idol started to die, like
- 2:46Speaker 3: when Joe Demaggio died. Luke Garrett, he started to feel
- 2:49Speaker 3: old when those kind of people started to die. And
- 2:52Speaker 3: you know, looking at our age, you know another five
- 2:55Speaker 3: years that's going to start happening fast. You know. My
- 2:57Speaker 3: point this morning, Mark was, I was watching Fox New
- 3:00Speaker 3: was and there's Meka from CNB whatever the station is
- 3:04Speaker 3: trying to defend with the Politico reporter Grand Platina from Maine,
- 3:10Speaker 3: like grilling this guy, what proof do you have? What
- 3:12Speaker 3: these people are all in on this guy up in Man,
- 3:14Speaker 3: It's really unvulieable it's funny platiner the ex girlfriend, ex
- 3:21Speaker 3: girlfriend who dated him for a long time.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Uh said rape And yeah, Mika was grilling the reporter,
- 3:27Speaker 1: well did she have any evidence? What evidence did she
- 3:29Speaker 1: what actual evidence did she have? Now, when it comes
- 3:33Speaker 1: to that wacko nut job Ejen Carroll, nobody had this.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Meka never wanted any evidence this. You know, this whack
- 3:39Speaker 1: job E Gene Carol couldn't tell you what year, couldn't
- 3:42Speaker 1: tell you anything about it, couldn't give you any details.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Mika believes there instantly, just like that. But this platinum
- 3:49Speaker 1: truly unbelievable, hard evidence. Thanks for calling. Let's go to
- 3:54Speaker 1: uh Alice in Rockland County. Alice, how you doing?
- 3:58Speaker 5: I'm good Mark. What do you think about this weekend
- 4:01Speaker 5: at Bernie's and his wife goes to China or maybe
- 4:04Speaker 5: the movie Dave where they hide him in the basement.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Mitch McConnell, we're not hearing anything.
- 4:08Speaker 3: About it now.
- 4:09Speaker 1: From what I hear, he's been officially declared brain dead.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Mitch McConnell, I mean medically.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Seriously, are they waiting till the elections or something like?
- 4:17Speaker 5: Why won't they the office say anything? They keep saying
- 4:20Speaker 5: he's in recovery. He's in recovery.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I hear it's pretty bad, but has you're right,
- 4:24Speaker 1: it hasn't been confirmed. His wife is in China. She's
- 4:28Speaker 1: from China. Her family's in China. The whole family's there.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 5: Yeah. Her daddy owned a big companies. They got a
- 4:36Speaker 5: big Chinese company as a wedding gift.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 3: No. No.
- 4:38Speaker 1: The a big part of the Chinese economy and a
- 4:41Speaker 1: big part of probably the Chinese country. Not the best.
- 4:43Speaker 1: She's a nice woman, a Lane Chow, and I don't
- 4:48Speaker 1: know why she's over there, but apparently he's very bad
- 4:50Speaker 1: and not going to recover. But thanks for calling. Let's
- 4:53Speaker 1: go to Jay in New Jersey. Jay, how you doing?
- 4:57Speaker 3: Yeah? Mark?
- 4:59Speaker 6: You know Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas when she said that Graham
- 5:03Speaker 6: Plattner is her kind of guy. Was she lying then
- 5:07Speaker 6: or is she lying now? I think we know the
- 5:09Speaker 6: answer to that. These people don't care about the women.
- 5:11Speaker 6: They never do. It's all about political expedients, isn't it.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all well, it's all about getting Trump and
- 5:16Speaker 1: any whoever they think can slay Trump. That's who they're for.
- 5:19Speaker 1: They don't care if he's got an enormous Nazi tattoo
- 5:22Speaker 1: right on his chest. They don't care about any of that.
- 5:25Speaker 1: He's gotta be I mean you talking about a candidate
- 5:28Speaker 1: with baggage. This guy is like Paris Hilton with the baggage.
- 5:32Speaker 1: I mean, this guy had more back. They couldn't care less.
- 5:34Speaker 1: They'll look the other way on anything if Trump is involved. Hey,
- 5:38Speaker 1: Howie Carr's coming up in a few minutes. I think
- 5:40Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure he's the guy that first called their Pocahontas.
- 5:44Speaker 1: They first gave her that nickname. Let's go to John
- 5:47Speaker 1: and West Islip. John, how you doing, I.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Mark you, good morning. Quick question, But I hear that
- 5:57Speaker 2: Congresswoman Luna from Florida is proposing to put Trump on
- 6:02Speaker 2: Mount Rushmore. Yeah, what do you think would it be
- 6:05Speaker 2: on the right side with Lincoln or on the left
- 6:08Speaker 2: side where Washington is.
- 6:10Speaker 1: From what I hear, you can't actually put anybody on
- 6:12Speaker 1: Mount Rushmore. Some geological the stone the rock format that
- 6:16Speaker 1: you can't carve into it anymore. That's what I hear.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I heard that it can be carved in.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Geologists has said that they can do it on either side.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Yeah, well, maybe they found a way to listen. Obviously,
- 6:28Speaker 1: obviously the Democrats will go completely insane. It's one reason
- 6:32Speaker 1: to propose it. Also, I think, don't you have to
- 6:35Speaker 1: be dead a long time to be considered for Mount Rushmore?
- 6:38Speaker 2: I don't know. That's why I'm calling the master. I'm
- 6:40Speaker 2: calling you.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll look into it. I'll look into it, and
- 6:43Speaker 1: I think you got to be dead for a long time.
- 6:45Speaker 1: You can't. No, you just the left would go too crazy.
- 6:51Speaker 1: They would go completely insane. Also, it would cost a
- 6:55Speaker 1: fortune to have to protect Mount Rushmore. You'd have every
- 6:59Speaker 1: left wing coock mountain climbing equipment trying to go up
- 7:04Speaker 1: there with spray paint, with hammers to They would spend
- 7:08Speaker 1: every second trying to destroy and deface the thing, like
- 7:11Speaker 1: the reflecting pool. Hey again, Howie Carr, he was the
- 7:14Speaker 1: first one on Elizabeth Warren. I think he gave it
- 7:16Speaker 1: a name Pocahontas. But he's been all over. Graham Platner,
- 7:20Speaker 1: he's the best on the subject. We'll talk to him
- 7:22Speaker 1: next on seven to ten. Wor
