- 0:21Speaker 1: Oh How I Love to Love The nineteen ninety four
- 0:25Speaker 1: ABC mini series The Stand, written by Stephen King, directed
- 0:29Speaker 1: by Mick Garris. Originally, this was supposed to be a
- 0:32Speaker 1: feature length movie in the eighties, directed by George Ramiro,
- 0:36Speaker 1: but that would never come to fruition. The Stand is
- 0:39Speaker 1: about a man made plague that's let loose on accident
- 0:42Speaker 1: by the United States military, and it kills a little
- 0:45Speaker 1: over ninety nine percent of the population. Everybody gets wiped out,
- 0:49Speaker 1: they get sick, they start choking on their own vomit.
- 0:52Speaker 1: The government's line to everybody, and as that progresses, we
- 0:55Speaker 1: follow along our surviving characters. The surviving characters are met
- 1:00Speaker 1: with dreams and visions of an old black lady playing
- 1:04Speaker 1: guitar that makes her own bread. She's one hundred and
- 1:07Speaker 1: eight years old in the book, and I think in
- 1:09Speaker 1: the series she's one hundred and six, Mother Abigail Or.
- 1:14Speaker 1: They're also visited by Randall Flagg, who's an evil guy
- 1:18Speaker 1: who he's not really the devil, but he seems to
- 1:23Speaker 1: be well acquainted with the devil or evil shit, if
- 1:27Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Randall flag he's an evil guy.
- 1:31Speaker 1: He visits them in their dreams too, and he scares them.
- 1:34Speaker 1: And as the survivors decide whether or not they're going
- 1:37Speaker 1: to go to Nebraska or Boulder, Colorado with Mother Abigail
- 1:41Speaker 1: or Randall Flagg over in Las Vegas, Party Town, USA,
- 1:46Speaker 1: we kind of see how these characters develop, how their
- 1:50Speaker 1: relationships change, their personal grievances start to affect their living situations,
- 1:56Speaker 1: and they basically try to rebuild the population. Civilization fuck this,
- 2:01Speaker 1: and they slowly start to rebuild civilization, whether it's the
- 2:06Speaker 1: authoritarian civilization in Las Vegas under Randall flags them or
- 2:10Speaker 1: under Mother Abigail's guide in Boulder, Colorado at the Free Zone.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And one of the things that surprised me about the
- 2:18Speaker 1: stand I just read it for the first time or
- 2:20Speaker 1: listened to the audiobook for the first time fairly recently,
- 2:24Speaker 1: is how biblical this story is and how religious the
- 2:27Speaker 1: whole thing feels. And because it's a Stephen King story,
- 2:31Speaker 1: I assumed when there were religious themes that it would
- 2:33Speaker 1: almost be sort of like poking at those religious themes
- 2:36Speaker 1: and maybe like looking at them in a negative light.
- 2:38Speaker 1: But really it lifts up the idea of religion and
- 2:42Speaker 1: kind of you know, having a moral compass and whatnot,
- 2:46Speaker 1: which I thought was really interesting. And there is a
- 2:48Speaker 1: lot of nuances there between the characters that are considered
- 2:51Speaker 1: good and the characters that are considered bad in the
- 2:54Speaker 1: book anyway, and the mini series, from what I'm seeing
- 2:57Speaker 1: so far, not so much. But we'll get into that
- 3:00Speaker 1: a little more as we go through this. I don't
- 3:02Speaker 1: want to go back to the book all the time
- 3:04Speaker 1: because I think I'm going to have to do a
- 3:06Speaker 1: separate video comparing the mini series to the book altogether.
- 3:09Speaker 1: But I think I think it's going to be unavoidable
- 3:12Speaker 1: to talk about the book while we're going into the
- 3:14Speaker 1: mini series. So so that's a really simple, summed up
- 3:22Speaker 1: way of explaining what the stand is about, what the
- 3:24Speaker 1: story's about. I felt like that kind of touches on
- 3:26Speaker 1: a lot of the little themes in in the bigger picture.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I did watch the mini series before reading the book.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I remember watching the mini series when I was a
- 3:35Speaker 1: little kid. It came out in nineteen ninety four. I
- 3:37Speaker 1: was four years old when it came out, so I'm
- 3:39Speaker 1: assuming it was probably after that. I'm assuming I was
- 3:42Speaker 1: at least seven or eight or something like that. I
- 3:44Speaker 1: can't really remember for sure, but this is one of
- 3:47Speaker 1: the Stephen King mini series that didn't really stick with me.
- 3:51Speaker 1: There's really only like a couple of things about this
- 3:54Speaker 1: that I remembered, and I never really went back to
- 3:57Speaker 1: it and rewatched it. I haven't watched it as an
- 3:59Speaker 1: adult or anything like that, and I've never read the
- 4:01Speaker 1: book before up until this last year, so the whole
- 4:05Speaker 1: thing was pretty new to me, to be honest. There's
- 4:07Speaker 1: a couple of scenes that, like I said, that stood
- 4:09Speaker 1: out to me that we'll get into. Most of them
- 4:11Speaker 1: are just like the creepy evil hospital scenes. If you've
- 4:15Speaker 1: seen it, you know what I'm talking about. But for
- 4:17Speaker 1: some reason, those always stuck with me. I couldn't even
- 4:20Speaker 1: really remember. I knew it was about like a plague
- 4:23Speaker 1: or a sickness or something like that, but I couldn't
- 4:25Speaker 1: remember exactly what it's about. I kind of remember Randall
- 4:28Speaker 1: Flagg too, like the evil guy, and I remember Gary Sinise,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and that's about it, just because Gary Sinise always stands out,
- 4:34Speaker 1: and we're just going to be talking about part one
- 4:37Speaker 1: and part two. I believe this is the Plague and
- 4:40Speaker 1: Dreams are these two chapters of the mini series from
- 4:43Speaker 1: what I've seen to them so far. Comparatively, I would say,
- 4:47Speaker 1: I mean, obviously the book is better, you know what
- 4:50Speaker 1: I mean, it's just going to I feel like there's
- 4:52Speaker 1: not too many cases where the book's not going to
- 4:54Speaker 1: be better because really the biggest thing about this story
- 4:58Speaker 1: are the characters in the book just get so much
- 5:01Speaker 1: character development, and that's really what it spends most of
- 5:04Speaker 1: its time on. I would say, is just getting to
- 5:07Speaker 1: know this big cast of characters. After watching these parts
- 5:12Speaker 1: in the mini series, I almost feel like it's best
- 5:15Speaker 1: if you would have read the book first before getting
- 5:18Speaker 1: into this, because they kind of skim over a lot
- 5:20Speaker 1: of the interesting things about these characters. I mean, there's
- 5:23Speaker 1: still I feel like they still do them justice. They
- 5:25Speaker 1: do a really good job of like certain characters anyway,
- 5:29Speaker 1: Like I think Stu's really well done, but some of
- 5:34Speaker 1: the other ones are kind of lacking, Like honestly, like
- 5:37Speaker 1: even some of the other main characters like Larry, Harold, Franny. Well,
- 5:43Speaker 1: I'm going to kind of go through each character and
- 5:45Speaker 1: how their story develops in these two parts, and that's
- 5:48Speaker 1: kind of I think, how we're gonna break this down,
- 5:50Speaker 1: because I don't know how else to do it other
- 5:52Speaker 1: than to go beat by beat but the story really
- 5:55Speaker 1: cuts around so much that it's it would feel a
- 5:57Speaker 1: little jumbled. I think to kind of go beat by
- 6:00Speaker 1: b throughout the whole movie for six hours. It's a
- 6:03Speaker 1: six hour long movie, by the way. That's probably why
- 6:06Speaker 1: I never watched it again. To be honest, I lost
- 6:08Speaker 1: a lot of faith in these mini series after the
- 6:11Speaker 1: Shining mini series. I remember watching that one in Rose Red. Obviously,
- 6:15Speaker 1: I love the It mini series. That one was one
- 6:18Speaker 1: of my favorite movies as a kid. But I think
- 6:21Speaker 1: after the Shining mini series, I was just like, maybe
- 6:24Speaker 1: we don't need to watch any of these anymore. Maybe
- 6:26Speaker 1: there's better things out there to do with our time.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So let's start this thing off. The first character we're
- 6:31Speaker 1: going to see here is a guy named Campion. Basically,
- 6:34Speaker 1: we see that the plague is accidentally released in this
- 6:36Speaker 1: military facility. This guy fucking realizes what's going on, and
- 6:40Speaker 1: he grabs his family and he books at the fuck
- 6:42Speaker 1: out of here. He grabs his wife and his daughter, hits
- 6:44Speaker 1: the car, just barely beats the gate before it closes,
- 6:47Speaker 1: and he drives all the way to East Texas, where
- 6:50Speaker 1: he runs into Stu Redman, who's going to be one
- 6:53Speaker 1: of our main characters in this book, the Big Dog,
- 6:55Speaker 1: I would say overall. So this guy Campion, he's sick
- 6:59Speaker 1: as fuck. He's driving towards the gas station where Stu
- 7:01Speaker 1: and his friends are hanging out. He's getting ready to
- 7:03Speaker 1: crash into the damn gas pumps, and Stu's like, hey,
- 7:06Speaker 1: turn off the gas pumps, you know. And this is
- 7:08Speaker 1: just the first example we get of Stu being calm,
- 7:11Speaker 1: cool and collected and kind of always knowing what to do,
- 7:14Speaker 1: you know, when most people would panic in that situation.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Everyone else is like, well, what the fuck's that guy doing.
- 7:19Speaker 1: He's gonna run into the gas pumps and kill us
- 7:21Speaker 1: all stud just like, hit the pumps, Hit the pumps,
- 7:23Speaker 1: and he fucking flicks the switch, saves the day, just
- 7:26Speaker 1: like the Big Dig hero that he's going to be
- 7:28Speaker 1: throughout the whole story. So they run out there, they
- 7:30Speaker 1: find this guy. He's sick as fuck and he's fucking
- 7:32Speaker 1: he's oozing, his neck's all swollen up, and his family's
- 7:36Speaker 1: in the car and they're dead, and he's still like,
- 7:38Speaker 1: you gotta save my family. You gotta save them, you
- 7:40Speaker 1: know what I mean. And I don't think he even
- 7:42Speaker 1: realizes that they're toast. But then the thing that caught
- 7:45Speaker 1: me in this in the mini series is he immediately
- 7:47Speaker 1: starts talking about the dark Man to Stu. He's just like, yeah,
- 7:50Speaker 1: when we were driving here, there was a guy in
- 7:52Speaker 1: the back seat. We weren't alone the whole time. He
- 7:54Speaker 1: was a dark man, you know what I'm saying. And
- 7:56Speaker 1: if I had my soundboard right now, I'd do like
- 7:58Speaker 1: a sting there really emphasize like, this dark Man's gonna
- 8:02Speaker 1: be important, Stu. You're gonna want to remember this dark man. Okay,
- 8:06Speaker 1: he's evil. He's gonna be a big deal in the
- 8:08Speaker 1: rest of the book or the movie. The mini series,
- 8:11Speaker 1: the ABC mini series from nineteen ninety four. So then
- 8:18Speaker 1: we see the next day, I believe, we see Stu
- 8:22Speaker 1: and all of his friends. They get rounded up by
- 8:24Speaker 1: the military. They're like, hey, you motherfuckers were exposed to
- 8:28Speaker 1: some sick shit. You're gonna need to come with us.
- 8:31Speaker 1: And so they take them to do tests on him
- 8:33Speaker 1: and stuff like that, and basically, slowly but surely, all
- 8:36Speaker 1: of Stu's friends die in this military testing facility. It's
- 8:41Speaker 1: like a center for disease control type of situation. Between
- 8:45Speaker 1: all that, we do have a minor character pop in,
- 8:48Speaker 1: but a major person in horror history, a fella named
- 8:54Speaker 1: Joe Bob Briggs. I'm familiar with the guy Joe Bob
- 8:58Speaker 1: Briggs is in this movie. And he goes there and
- 9:00Speaker 1: he kind of warns them like, hey, there's been some
- 9:02Speaker 1: military trucks in town. You know what I'm saying. And
- 9:05Speaker 1: the whole time the guys that are talking to him
- 9:07Speaker 1: are sneezing and confident, and shit, I'm not gonna even
- 9:09Speaker 1: talk about this bullsh right now. I'm gonna cut all
- 9:11Speaker 1: this out and we'll skip righthead. So, Stu, he's in
- 9:13Speaker 1: the sick facility. They're testing him and for whatever reason,
- 9:17Speaker 1: he ain't getting sick. Sue ain't sick. So they're like, Stu,
- 9:21Speaker 1: what's going on, Bud? How are you not sick? All
- 9:23Speaker 1: your friends are fucking dying. There's some really great scenes
- 9:25Speaker 1: where like you just see the doctors taking notes as
- 9:28Speaker 1: his friends are dying, and it just kind of shows
- 9:31Speaker 1: how like cold and cut and dry this whole situation is,
- 9:34Speaker 1: like they realize that shit is getting out of hand
- 9:37Speaker 1: incredibly fast, and like there's no time for anything besides
- 9:42Speaker 1: just what's going to stop this? And why is this
- 9:44Speaker 1: affecting everyone in such a lethal way, and they kind
- 9:49Speaker 1: of mentioned how like the disease is going to mutate
- 9:51Speaker 1: and people are going to think that they're getting better
- 9:54Speaker 1: and then they'll basically take a turn for the worse
- 9:56Speaker 1: and die pretty quickly after that. So it's very scary,
- 10:01Speaker 1: very intense plague. It's also known as Captain trips, is
- 10:05Speaker 1: what they call the plague. I guess I should have
- 10:07Speaker 1: mentioned that in the synops that I did earlier. Synopsis,
- 10:11Speaker 1: So where do we go from there? So for sticking
- 10:14Speaker 1: with Stu, basically he stays at this facility until all
- 10:18Speaker 1: the doctors are dead. He doesn't realize this though, He's
- 10:21Speaker 1: just kind of like hanging out in this room the
- 10:23Speaker 1: whole time. There's a great moment where the doctors come
- 10:26Speaker 1: in to try to do more tests on stew but
- 10:28Speaker 1: he won't let him, and they're kind of like, come on,
- 10:31Speaker 1: stuw we need your blood and stuff like that. We
- 10:33Speaker 1: go look at your blood, but he threatens him by
- 10:35Speaker 1: like grabbing the edge of their suit and he's like,
- 10:38Speaker 1: I'm gonna rip your fucking suit open and coughing your
- 10:40Speaker 1: face and shit if you if you take any more
- 10:42Speaker 1: of my blood and they're like, oh no, you know,
- 10:45Speaker 1: let us out of here, and stuff like that. It
- 10:47Speaker 1: gets to the point where there's the there's only the
- 10:49Speaker 1: main doctor left alive. He goes in there with a
- 10:52Speaker 1: gun and he's gonna just kill Stu because he's like,
- 10:54Speaker 1: I don't honestly know why he's gonna kill him. I
- 10:56Speaker 1: guess he's just like he's all sick and shit now too,
- 10:59Speaker 1: and he's the can if I'm gonna die, you're gonna
- 11:01Speaker 1: die too, I guess, Bud. I don't like that you're
- 11:04Speaker 1: not sick. We can't figure out why you're not sick.
- 11:06Speaker 1: They even like, I can't remember if they tell him
- 11:08Speaker 1: in the miniseries, but in the book, I remember they
- 11:10Speaker 1: tell him that they inject him with Captain trips, like
- 11:13Speaker 1: straight up into his bloodstream and he still doesn't get sick.
- 11:16Speaker 1: So it's just an immunity that really is only explained
- 11:20Speaker 1: by the hand of God, which is something else that
- 11:22Speaker 1: we'll get into much later on, I'm sure in part
- 11:25Speaker 1: three and four, or definitely in part four. But the
- 11:28Speaker 1: hand of God has a lot to do with this
- 11:29Speaker 1: and God in general and the Bible and religion, Like
- 11:32Speaker 1: I said, very religious story. So Stu fucks this guy up.
- 11:36Speaker 1: He pulls the GAT on him, but Stu's too quick
- 11:38Speaker 1: and he fucking he flicks the TV on behind the
- 11:40Speaker 1: guy to like distract him, and then he beats the
- 11:42Speaker 1: shit out of him and takes the gun from him,
- 11:45Speaker 1: leaves and shit like that, and Stu shoots him because
- 11:48Speaker 1: the guy comes back and attacks him again. And as
- 11:50Speaker 1: he's leaving the facility, this is one of the scenes
- 11:52Speaker 1: that always stuck with me as a kid, because he's
- 11:54Speaker 1: running through this hospital. At this point, he doesn't realize
- 11:57Speaker 1: how bad things have gotten. I mean, he probably has
- 11:59Speaker 1: an idea if they're keeping him basically prisoner in this
- 12:02Speaker 1: medical facility. But he's running through the halls and there's
- 12:05Speaker 1: literally people just fucking dead as hell everywhere, just like
- 12:08Speaker 1: leaning up against the walls with their tongues hanging out
- 12:10Speaker 1: and shit and fucking blood's coming out of their eyes
- 12:12Speaker 1: and ears and stuff like that. It's a nightmare scene,
- 12:14Speaker 1: and so that always stuck with me. The part when
- 12:17Speaker 1: he's running down the stairs, this guy just jumps up
- 12:20Speaker 1: and he's like, Hey, come down here and eat chicken
- 12:22Speaker 1: with me, beautiful, and Stull, like fucking Sparta kicks his ass.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Off the stairs or something that always stuck out with me,
- 12:28Speaker 1: just because it was such a weird scene. And the
- 12:30Speaker 1: guy's like bleeding out of his eyes while he's saying it,
- 12:32Speaker 1: and he's got like crust all over his mouth, and
- 12:34Speaker 1: it's just like, Yeah, you don't want that guy touching
- 12:36Speaker 1: you for sure, like whether he's sick or not. Just
- 12:38Speaker 1: kick that fucking guy down the stairs. And I think
- 12:42Speaker 1: that more or less sums up Stew's part for episode one.
- 12:46Speaker 1: He might have a Mother Abigail dream in there somewhere,
- 12:49Speaker 1: I believe, or maybe even like a dark Man dream.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I feel like they're usually like a combination of Mother
- 12:54Speaker 1: Abigail and dark Man dreams happening at the same time.
- 12:57Speaker 1: But we'll get into that. There's plenty of that shit
- 13:00Speaker 1: to talk about, trust me. And then we get Molly
- 13:02Speaker 1: Ringwald as Frannie Goldsmith's, who is another one of the
- 13:05Speaker 1: big dog main characters we got here, and there's a
- 13:08Speaker 1: handful of them, two handfuls of them, to be exact,
- 13:12Speaker 1: damn it. So Molly Ringwald, she's hanging out with her
- 13:14Speaker 1: old ass dad. This is right as the plague's getting bad,
- 13:18Speaker 1: right as Captain Trips is really busting that on Everybody,
- 13:21Speaker 1: Harold Lotter comes up, and Harold Lotter is another main guy.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I don't think I said it anymore. Harold Lotter comes up,
- 13:28Speaker 1: Harold Lotter is just like, hey, Franny, I want to
- 13:31Speaker 1: take it a fucking date. I want to take you
- 13:33Speaker 1: to mar Bergman Movie Fest. And she's like, nah, no, thanks,
- 13:37Speaker 1: you a little fucking dork. I'm gonna go see Arim.
- 13:40Speaker 1: And in the book, I think Harold's supposed to be sixteen.
- 13:43Speaker 1: He seems pretty young here, although I think he's probably
- 13:46Speaker 1: a little older than sixteen. But he's kind of like
- 13:48Speaker 1: a he's a very egotistical writer, and he's just kind
- 13:52Speaker 1: of like, oh yeah, Harold Lotter's an incel, like to
- 13:56Speaker 1: a t is the best way to describe him. Just
- 13:58Speaker 1: very stereotypical. Only the big difference in the book and
- 14:02Speaker 1: movie that I've seen so far in his character is
- 14:04Speaker 1: that in the book he starts out as like a
- 14:06Speaker 1: big fucking fat guy or a big fat kid, I guess,
- 14:09Speaker 1: and he's just like, you know, hates everybody and wishes
- 14:12Speaker 1: everybody was dead and stuff like that. Not really, I guess.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I guess in the book he kind of does like
- 14:17Speaker 1: he's he gets bullied a lot, but then after the
- 14:20Speaker 1: play hits and everybody dies, he shows he says out
- 14:23Speaker 1: loud that he wishes they weren't actually gone. So I
- 14:26Speaker 1: thought that was interesting, really great development there in Harold's
- 14:30Speaker 1: character in the book, at least anyway, Molly Ringwald and
- 14:33Speaker 1: her dad. Her dad is the guy from Scrubs, doctor
- 14:36Speaker 1: Kelso I believe his name is. He's like the old
- 14:39Speaker 1: doctor that's in charge of everything, not the mean doctor
- 14:41Speaker 1: and from Scrubs, but he's the guy that always like
- 14:44Speaker 1: doesn't give a fuck, and he's really funny in Scrubs,
- 14:46Speaker 1: and he's really good in this too, actually, But quickly
- 14:49Speaker 1: we see that he's getting sick. Franny is taking care
- 14:52Speaker 1: of him, but he dies and she has to like
- 14:54Speaker 1: stitch him up in a sheet and drag him down
- 14:56Speaker 1: the stairs and she buries him in the garden and
- 14:58Speaker 1: basically as she's doing it, Harold comes over and it's like, Yo,
- 15:02Speaker 1: my parents are dead too, Bud, do you want to
- 15:04Speaker 1: hang out and be best friends and stuff like that?
- 15:06Speaker 1: And she's like, I guess, so, Harold, I guess we can.
- 15:09Speaker 1: But also he's kind of like, also, I like to
- 15:12Speaker 1: be your boyfriend and shit, and she's kind of like no.
- 15:16Speaker 1: She just says like, we'll always be friends, Harold friends, motherfucker,
- 15:19Speaker 1: not boyfriends and girlfriends, motherfucker. And he's kind of like, fuck,
- 15:24Speaker 1: even in the Apocalypse, I can't get any fucking pussy
- 15:28Speaker 1: and I'll leave it. I'll put a pen in it
- 15:30Speaker 1: there for Harold. And then we cut over to Nick Andros.
- 15:34Speaker 1: He's walking through this town I can't remember. It's like
- 15:36Speaker 1: Alabama or some shit, and he gets beat up by
- 15:39Speaker 1: these guys locals. They beat the shit out of them,
- 15:42Speaker 1: and it's one of the worst fight scenes I've ever
- 15:45Speaker 1: seen in my life. Before we get into it, though,
- 15:47Speaker 1: got to point out they chose Rob Lowe to play
- 15:51Speaker 1: Nick Andros, which Nick Andrews is deaf and dumb. He
- 15:54Speaker 1: can't hear, he can't talk, and we got Rob low
- 15:57Speaker 1: playing him, and right away I was kind of like,
- 15:59Speaker 1: what the fuck it? Just why Rob low It's one
- 16:02Speaker 1: of the oddest casting choices, I will say. In the
- 16:05Speaker 1: mini series. As this goes on, it didn't bother me
- 16:08Speaker 1: as much, like I feel like he does a better
- 16:10Speaker 1: job than I expected as the story goes on. But
- 16:13Speaker 1: the introduction to Nick in the mini series was not
- 16:16Speaker 1: great for me, And maybe it's the fight scene that
- 16:18Speaker 1: we see, but it kind of sucked because we see
- 16:21Speaker 1: Rob Low, he's walking around these guys. They come to
- 16:24Speaker 1: beat them up, and it's just like one of those
- 16:26Speaker 1: really slow fight scenes where the guys are throwing punches,
- 16:29Speaker 1: like where they're really rearing their handback and they're like,
- 16:31Speaker 1: here comes your deaf motherfucker. And then he like ducks
- 16:34Speaker 1: it and kicks them in the nuts. But he kicks
- 16:36Speaker 1: them in the nuts like he jumps both of his
- 16:38Speaker 1: feet off the ground when he does the kick, like
- 16:40Speaker 1: a little kid would, and it's like, have you ever
- 16:42Speaker 1: fucking kicked the ball before in your life? Dude? Yeah,
- 16:45Speaker 1: I'm sure you know how to kick somebody in the
- 16:46Speaker 1: nuts better than that. But you know, it's very very movie.
- 16:50Speaker 1: It feels like they could have done a few more
- 16:51Speaker 1: takes or maybe got like some stunt doubles in there
- 16:54Speaker 1: or something some stuntman to do this shit, because it
- 16:56Speaker 1: just looks like goofy as hell. But the casting with
- 16:59Speaker 1: Rob Low, My big problem with it is just like
- 17:01Speaker 1: in the book, you would never guess they would get
- 17:03Speaker 1: Robblo to play this guy, like you would think it
- 17:05Speaker 1: would be somebody that's a little less traditionally handsome, like
- 17:09Speaker 1: Rob Woll is almost like distracting because of the way
- 17:14Speaker 1: he looks, and it's like, I don't think that's that
- 17:16Speaker 1: doesn't sound like Nick Andros at all if you're reading
- 17:19Speaker 1: the book and assuming like who would play this guy?
- 17:22Speaker 1: Gary Sonisee is great. Molly Ringwald's doable as far as
- 17:25Speaker 1: Frannie goes. Like some of Molly Ringwald's performance, like early
- 17:28Speaker 1: on too, was a little bit tough to get into,
- 17:32Speaker 1: And I don't know if it's always her. Sometimes I
- 17:35Speaker 1: feel like it's her performance, like they could have maybe
- 17:37Speaker 1: done a few more takes with her. But sometimes I
- 17:39Speaker 1: think it's like the way she's written in the mini series,
- 17:42Speaker 1: because Frannie is another character that's like, really, you get
- 17:45Speaker 1: this whole backstory with her where she finds out she's
- 17:48Speaker 1: pregnant right away with her boyfriend Jesse, and she basically
- 17:51Speaker 1: tells him like I'm going to have this baby with
- 17:54Speaker 1: or without you, Bud, and he's kind of like, oh shit,
- 17:57Speaker 1: I don't really want to have a baby. So she's
- 17:59Speaker 1: just like fine him doing the shit by myself. See
- 18:01Speaker 1: you later, Jesse, see a never fuck face, and then
- 18:04Speaker 1: she never sees him again because he probably dies in
- 18:06Speaker 1: the plague. But she kind of like takes all that
- 18:08Speaker 1: in strides. Like the character Frannie's, she shows to be
- 18:12Speaker 1: a really strong character right away. The Frannie we get
- 18:15Speaker 1: in the miniseries is a little goof here, Like I
- 18:18Speaker 1: feel like she has goofy moments in the book too,
- 18:21Speaker 1: but they're rounded out nicely with those other qualities, whereas
- 18:24Speaker 1: in the mini series it's mostly just like, my fucking
- 18:27Speaker 1: butt's got cows is on it, I'll shoot and stuff
- 18:30Speaker 1: like that, and it's kind of like, Okay, that all
- 18:32Speaker 1: we're gonna get with her. Other than there are some
- 18:34Speaker 1: really touching moments with her. When her dad dies, there's
- 18:36Speaker 1: a moment where she sings amazing Grace while she's like
- 18:39Speaker 1: sewing up his funeral shroud, and it's a pretty touching moment, honestly.
- 18:44Speaker 1: So back to Nick Andrews. He gets beat up by
- 18:46Speaker 1: these guys. A doctor almost runs his head over and
- 18:49Speaker 1: they bring him to the prison where they're going to,
- 18:54Speaker 1: you know, just find out what the fuck happened to him.
- 18:56Speaker 1: So they take him to the sheriff. He explains who
- 18:58Speaker 1: beat him up. The sheriff realizes, look, it's my brother.
- 19:01Speaker 1: In law that beat his ass, so they go and
- 19:03Speaker 1: arrest him. Nick kind of helps the sheriff out. While
- 19:06Speaker 1: this is going on, the sickness is spreading, and then
- 19:09Speaker 1: everybody gets sick and dies. Basically all the prisoners get sick.
- 19:13Speaker 1: The doctor is still there and he's like, Hey, the
- 19:16Speaker 1: fucking sheriff died. I'm going to go to my cabin
- 19:19Speaker 1: and the mountains or some shit. Do you want to
- 19:21Speaker 1: come with me? And he's kind of like, well, I
- 19:22Speaker 1: got to take care of these prisoners, you know. And
- 19:25Speaker 1: they're like, oh, I see you later, Nick, motherfucker. It's
- 19:28Speaker 1: a stupid idea, but here you go. And so Nick
- 19:30Speaker 1: lets the guys out of prison, the ones that aren't.
- 19:33Speaker 1: There's one guy that's stuck in prison because he's basically
- 19:35Speaker 1: dead already, but he lets the other two guys out
- 19:38Speaker 1: and they leave. And as Nick's leaving, he brings a
- 19:40Speaker 1: gun with him and stuff like that. He grabs a
- 19:42Speaker 1: sheriff gun. He sees that the doc has been killed,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and I thought the doc just got sick and died,
- 19:48Speaker 1: but he's like dead in his car, and we kind
- 19:50Speaker 1: of find out that one of the bullies that beat
- 19:52Speaker 1: up Nick, the main one I think his name is
- 19:54Speaker 1: Ray or something like that. He I think he kills
- 19:57Speaker 1: that he killed the doctor actually, which is pretty neat.
- 20:00Speaker 1: But then he attacks Nick. Nick shoots him and kills
- 20:02Speaker 1: him dead. And so from then on Nick starts to
- 20:05Speaker 1: head towards Nebraska. And the reason he's heading towards Nebraska
- 20:08Speaker 1: is because when the bullies whooped his ass and knocked
- 20:10Speaker 1: him out, he had his first little vision of Mother Abigail,
- 20:13Speaker 1: Like as he gets chaot and he's in Nebraska, he
- 20:16Speaker 1: sees her and she's just like, hey, Nick, Hey, Nick,
- 20:21Speaker 1: why don't you come on down Nebraska? Anyway? Nick comes
- 20:24Speaker 1: on down to Nebraska is what he decides he's gonna
- 20:27Speaker 1: do and visit Mother Abigail. He sees her in the dream.
- 20:29Speaker 1: The dream's hilarious because so Nick's step and dumb. Obviously,
- 20:33Speaker 1: as soon as he pops up in the dream, it's
- 20:35Speaker 1: just rob low and he's just like I can talk
- 20:38Speaker 1: and I can hear. It's like, all right, do we
- 20:41Speaker 1: need that? It almost felt like he was gonna be
- 20:43Speaker 1: like and I can see some really fucking lame shit
- 20:46Speaker 1: like that. If the Stand was going to be a musical,
- 20:48Speaker 1: that's where that part would kick off. It would just
- 20:51Speaker 1: be Rob Low breaking into a musical number in this
- 20:53Speaker 1: fake ass cornfield in Nebraska. So that's where we'll, uh,
- 20:57Speaker 1: we'll move on from Nick. Who the fuck is next? Okay?
- 21:01Speaker 1: So now we're up in here with Larry Underwood. We
- 21:04Speaker 1: got Larry Underwood, the rock star, the musician. Baby, can
- 21:08Speaker 1: you dig your man? He's into the picture. And so
- 21:10Speaker 1: Larry is in a bit of trouble. He got in
- 21:13Speaker 1: some trouble doing drugs, spending too much money, being a
- 21:16Speaker 1: damn rock star, doing the nickel back thing, and he decides,
- 21:20Speaker 1: I better go live with my mom for a while
- 21:23Speaker 1: until all this cools off and I can make some
- 21:25Speaker 1: more damn money. So Larry, he's greeted with his mother
- 21:30Speaker 1: out on the East Coast, I believe in New York.
- 21:32Speaker 1: There's a lot of scenes that are shot on location here,
- 21:36Speaker 1: and it looks great, It looks fantastic. I love. That's
- 21:39Speaker 1: one thing that I really loved about this mini series
- 21:42Speaker 1: is that a lot of pretty much everything except for
- 21:46Speaker 1: mother Abigail's dream sequences are shot on location. And I
- 21:49Speaker 1: think some of those whenever she's in RL, which we'll
- 21:53Speaker 1: get too soon enough, are shot in Nebraska, which I
- 21:56Speaker 1: thought was really cool. So anyway, Larry, he goes and
- 21:59Speaker 1: he meets his mom, and you can tell right away
- 22:01Speaker 1: that his mom kind of knows that he's a bit
- 22:03Speaker 1: of a shyste he's a bit of a scumbag. And
- 22:06Speaker 1: we get a lot more of that in the book.
- 22:08Speaker 1: You find out what happens when Larry's blowing up in
- 22:10Speaker 1: the music scene, and how he kind of mistreats people,
- 22:13Speaker 1: and you even get some backstory on how he like
- 22:16Speaker 1: kind of fucked over one of his friends in a
- 22:18Speaker 1: really just kind of shitty way where he like bitched
- 22:22Speaker 1: the friend out for like twenty bucks that he borrowed
- 22:25Speaker 1: from him, and he like was really hounding him about it,
- 22:28Speaker 1: you know, and the guy's like, hey, man, I fucking
- 22:30Speaker 1: lend you money all the time when you don't have
- 22:32Speaker 1: money for the movies or when we got to eat
- 22:35Speaker 1: and all this other shit, and now you need your
- 22:37Speaker 1: twenty bucks back, like it's into the fucking world or something. Well,
- 22:40Speaker 1: fuck you, motherfucker. We're not friends anymore, Larry. He's son
- 22:43Speaker 1: of a bitch. But that's in the book, and we're
- 22:45Speaker 1: talking about the miniseries, so you kind of gloss over
- 22:48Speaker 1: a lot of that stuff and That's kind of how
- 22:50Speaker 1: it is with several other characters where you're just kind
- 22:52Speaker 1: of like landing in this situation where it's like it's
- 22:55Speaker 1: into the world, this is what's going on. You kind
- 22:58Speaker 1: of get the gist of their who they are, and
- 23:01Speaker 1: you know who is their daddy and what do they
- 23:03Speaker 1: do kind of thing. So anyway, Larry goes. He starts
- 23:06Speaker 1: living with his mom again. He's going all over town
- 23:10Speaker 1: thinking he's some sort of big shit, hot star fucking rocker,
- 23:15Speaker 1: and he's over at the bar he runs into the
- 23:17Speaker 1: rat Man for just a brief interaction. The rat Man's
- 23:20Speaker 1: a side character that we'll get into that I believe
- 23:23Speaker 1: pops up later in the story as well. I know
- 23:27Speaker 1: in the book he does. I can't remember if he's
- 23:29Speaker 1: in the miniseries later on, but I'm assuming he probably has.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Why else what they have him here, Larry bumps into him,
- 23:35Speaker 1: and the rat Man forgives him this time a little
- 23:39Speaker 1: menacing I will say the rat Man's a little bit
- 23:42Speaker 1: of a menacing character. He looks like he would commit
- 23:44Speaker 1: a crime or two. But Larry he calls back in California.
- 23:48Speaker 1: He calls his girlfriend or whatever over there, and she's
- 23:51Speaker 1: like Hey, man, shit's popping off over here. I'm working
- 23:53Speaker 1: at the damn casino or something right now. There's not
- 23:56Speaker 1: a single guy inside. There's not a single living soul
- 23:59Speaker 1: in sight, which is super unusual. Captain Trips is fucking
- 24:02Speaker 1: bumping down here, and Larry's like, oh shit, that doesn't
- 24:05Speaker 1: sound very good. Anyway. I'm gonna take you out to
- 24:08Speaker 1: a hot breakfast when I get back there, and we're
- 24:10Speaker 1: gonna party hard. We're gonna party our nuts off. We're
- 24:14Speaker 1: gonna party till our cocks and balls fall off when
- 24:16Speaker 1: I get back to California as well, Larry's thinking, and
- 24:19Speaker 1: this is one of the moments. I feel like there's
- 24:22Speaker 1: some moments with some of Larry's line delivery much like
- 24:25Speaker 1: many of the other characters, all maybe except Stu. Except
- 24:29Speaker 1: for Gary Sonise. I feel like he's kind of kind
- 24:31Speaker 1: of hits a flawless victory as far as the line
- 24:34Speaker 1: deliveries go. But it's almost like everybody has a couple
- 24:38Speaker 1: like Mortal Kombat annihilation moments in this mini series and
- 24:43Speaker 1: this six hour long movie that we're going through here,
- 24:46Speaker 1: which you know, I don't mind it too much. It
- 24:48Speaker 1: is what it is. I can take a drip of
- 24:51Speaker 1: Mortal Kombat annihilation in my movie, a little drip of
- 24:54Speaker 1: some MKA acting in my movie. The problem with MKA
- 24:59Speaker 1: is that the whole movie as one hundred percent moral
- 25:01Speaker 1: combat annihilation. But if you got a movie like this,
- 25:04Speaker 1: where it's mostly good and it's got some little dog
- 25:06Speaker 1: shit scenes or some like shitty line deliveries, you just
- 25:10Speaker 1: got to kind of roll with him, you know, And
- 25:12Speaker 1: that's that happens a few times in this. Overall, though
- 25:15Speaker 1: I like the portrayal of Larry in this, there was
- 25:19Speaker 1: a couple of moments, like with some of the line
- 25:21Speaker 1: deliveries that I was unsure about, like is this gonna
- 25:24Speaker 1: work in the book? I mean, Larry's one of the
- 25:27Speaker 1: best characters in my opinion, Like he definitely hits the
- 25:30Speaker 1: top five, maybe even the top three, of all the
- 25:33Speaker 1: characters in the book. So I was curious. It's another
- 25:36Speaker 1: thing where I was just like, how are they gonna
- 25:38Speaker 1: pull this off? I think he does an okay job.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I think he like so far from what I've seen,
- 25:42Speaker 1: I think he does a pretty good job. There's also
- 25:44Speaker 1: I think this is where we get a really great
- 25:47Speaker 1: flu Buddy commercial. And this is something where like as
- 25:49Speaker 1: the movie was going on, like, I'm just gonna go
- 25:52Speaker 1: ahead and show you a little behind the scenes here.
- 25:54Speaker 1: So I've got the can you see that all right?
- 25:57Speaker 1: I've got the stand ninety four Stephen King series on
- 26:01Speaker 1: the VHS tape that my mom filmed off of cable
- 26:06Speaker 1: or whatever when I was a kid. So it's got
- 26:09Speaker 1: all the og commercials and everything. Pretty fantastic. But there's
- 26:13Speaker 1: a flu Buddy commercial which is basically just like, you know,
- 26:16Speaker 1: everyone's getting sick, get your fucking flu buddy in and stuff.
- 26:19Speaker 1: As this commercial kicks in, though it is, it feels
- 26:22Speaker 1: like a real commercial, like the way it's filmed and
- 26:25Speaker 1: everything in the way it's acted, it looks just like
- 26:27Speaker 1: a real commercial, And it threw me off for a
- 26:29Speaker 1: second where I was thinking, like, holy shit, is this
- 26:31Speaker 1: one of the commercials like in real life from that time.
- 26:35Speaker 1: It's fantastic. It's really well done. Just one of the
- 26:39Speaker 1: little touches in this movie that I really enjoyed. I
- 26:41Speaker 1: think Mick Garris did a great job with this. Mick
- 26:44Speaker 1: Garris also did Critters Too, also wrote the movie Hocus Pocus.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I'm a huge fan of Make Garris. I think he's
- 26:50Speaker 1: an underrated dude for sure. Underrated director just off critters
- 26:54Speaker 1: to alone. I mean, that's an all timer for me,
- 26:57Speaker 1: very pivotal movie when I was growing up. Let's see.
- 27:00Speaker 1: So then we see Larry. He's living with his mom.
- 27:03Speaker 1: His mom dies a similar fate to uh, I would
- 27:06Speaker 1: say most people in this movie. She just gets really sick.
- 27:09Speaker 1: The way they make those sick people look is extremely effective.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Like their skin looks all sore, like it looks like
- 27:17Speaker 1: it's covered in like rashes, and it's very like slimy looking.
- 27:21Speaker 1: They just look like they've been sweating their asses off,
- 27:23Speaker 1: you know, and just very drawn out. The effects in
- 27:27Speaker 1: this are actually really really good. I would say. I
- 27:29Speaker 1: think that's why some of those hospitals scenes really stuck
- 27:32Speaker 1: with me when I was a kid, because it just
- 27:34Speaker 1: the effects are very disturbing. They're very unsettling. And that's
- 27:38Speaker 1: kind of what happens with Larry's mom. She's fucking doing
- 27:40Speaker 1: that thing where she'll be like laying flat in bed,
- 27:42Speaker 1: just like Verry, Larry tell your dad, you know, she's
- 27:46Speaker 1: like hallucinating about his dad and stuff like that, still
- 27:48Speaker 1: being alive, like go get your dad and stuff, and
- 27:51Speaker 1: then she'll just sit up and be like, oh, fuck,
- 27:53Speaker 1: you know, I'm dying. And then she's dead, and so
- 27:56Speaker 1: his mom dies too, and he's kind of like, fuck,
- 27:58Speaker 1: what the hell do I do now? One thing? And uh.
- 28:01Speaker 1: There are some other scenes with Larry in the book
- 28:04Speaker 1: where he like kind of like hooks up with another
- 28:07Speaker 1: lady or something and she, you know, she's kind of
- 28:10Speaker 1: like wanting to make it serious and he's just like, no,
- 28:12Speaker 1: I'm out of here, and she throws a bunch of
- 28:14Speaker 1: shit at him. We don't need to talk about the book.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Why do I keep doing that. We'll get We'll do
- 28:18Speaker 1: a whole episode on the book once we're done with this.
- 28:20Speaker 1: We're doing the miniseries. I gotta stay focused. Fuck, I
- 28:23Speaker 1: gotta focus up on this shit lock in miniseries. Time
- 28:27Speaker 1: forget about the book right now? Just a book so good,
- 28:32Speaker 1: damn it. So anyway, Larry's mom dies, he's just like
- 28:35Speaker 1: he's having dreams about mother Abigail too, and he's just like, damn, bitch,
- 28:38Speaker 1: I gotta get to Nebraska and I gotta to meet
- 28:40Speaker 1: this fucking lady. He's probably wanted to do some harmonized
- 28:43Speaker 1: guitar looks with her, like Avenge sevenfold and go back
- 28:46Speaker 1: to back with her ass on the front porch. You
- 28:48Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, because she's shredding too all the time.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Any in any of her dreams, she's playing like Jesus
- 28:52Speaker 1: loves the little children, Jesus is my friend, and all
- 28:55Speaker 1: this stuff. Really get great stuff with Mother Abigail. And
- 28:57Speaker 1: since we're talking about her so much, might as well
- 29:00Speaker 1: just move right into some Mother Abigail. So we're, like
- 29:03Speaker 1: I said, we kind of see her in these dream sequences.
- 29:05Speaker 1: We see her in Nick's dream sequence, we see her,
- 29:07Speaker 1: and I think Larry's and Stew's as well. You know,
- 29:10Speaker 1: I can't remember if there's any more other than that,
- 29:13Speaker 1: but but we're seeing a lot of her. But then
- 29:16Speaker 1: we finally meet her in real life, which is great,
- 29:19Speaker 1: and the way they do it, I think is just
- 29:21Speaker 1: a big, you know, a salute to Stephen King, because
- 29:24Speaker 1: the first thing she's talking about is her fucking big
- 29:27Speaker 1: ass shits that she's been taken. She walks right out
- 29:29Speaker 1: of the outhouse and she says, Lord oh, then prunes,
- 29:32Speaker 1: thanks for the for the valuable BM that I just made,
- 29:36Speaker 1: And it's like, what else? What else do you expect
- 29:38Speaker 1: from a Stephen King story than some stinky BM talk
- 29:42Speaker 1: and this is the first time we're seeing like the
- 29:44Speaker 1: human version of Mother Abigail because everything else, these visions
- 29:47Speaker 1: and dreams that everyone's having, it's like she knows that
- 29:51Speaker 1: all these people are being drawn to her, and she
- 29:53Speaker 1: kind of knows that God is like speaking through her.
- 29:57Speaker 1: But at the same time, I don't think she like
- 29:59Speaker 1: really under stands how much this is happening or how
- 30:03Speaker 1: what's happened. Like, I don't think she's aware of the
- 30:05Speaker 1: people talking to her and the dreams, you know what
- 30:07Speaker 1: I mean, She's probably dreaming of them too, and maybe
- 30:10Speaker 1: that's how she knows.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Me.
- 30:11Speaker 1: It doesn't really go into it in great detail, but
- 30:13Speaker 1: I just kind of assume that, like maybe Mother Abigail's
- 30:15Speaker 1: having dreams about the people that are going to visit
- 30:18Speaker 1: her as well as the dark Man, because when we
- 30:21Speaker 1: see her, she sits down on the porch and this
- 30:23Speaker 1: is in real life, and she's like jamming out on
- 30:25Speaker 1: the guitar, playing you know, Jesus is my friend. And
- 30:27Speaker 1: then she sees the dark Man, which is a you know,
- 30:30Speaker 1: we'll get into the dark Man obviously. She sees the
- 30:33Speaker 1: dark Man Randall Flag and he's just kind of staring
- 30:36Speaker 1: at her in the corn and his face is all
- 30:38Speaker 1: shrouded and black, you know, like in shadows, and she's like,
- 30:41Speaker 1: holy fuck, you know, like what the fuck are you
- 30:44Speaker 1: doing here, bitch? And she's kind of you know, and
- 30:47Speaker 1: then he's just like, your blood is in my hands.
- 30:49Speaker 1: And he starts squeezing his fucking hands really tight, and
- 30:51Speaker 1: blood starts coming out of his hands, and she just
- 30:54Speaker 1: keeps like strumming even harder. She's like, Jesus is my friend,
- 30:57Speaker 1: and shit, and blood just starts shooting out of her
- 30:59Speaker 1: hands all over the guitar, and she looks down and
- 31:01Speaker 1: she's like fuck. She's like, what are you doing to me, bud?
- 31:05Speaker 1: Get out of my cornfield, you know. And then he disappears,
- 31:08Speaker 1: the blood disappears, and she's like, shit, this is getting
- 31:11Speaker 1: fucking serious. Like we're really getting into some damn devil
- 31:14Speaker 1: shit up in this bitch, Like the world's coming to
- 31:17Speaker 1: an end. These people are coming here on some sort
- 31:19Speaker 1: of like you know, religious war mission that we're going on,
- 31:24Speaker 1: and the devil's in the damn cornfield? So what are
- 31:26Speaker 1: we gonna do about it? Anyway, That's pretty much all
- 31:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna say about Mother Abigail for the for episode
- 31:31Speaker 1: number one. So now let's get into some of the
- 31:33Speaker 1: other characters. I would I kind of put these under
- 31:36Speaker 1: bad guys, and as far as you can tell in
- 31:38Speaker 1: the mini series, they're bad guys, I will say once again,
- 31:41Speaker 1: in the books, they're much more layered characters. But the
- 31:44Speaker 1: main bad guy, Randall flag will just go ahead and
- 31:47Speaker 1: get into him. He's played by Jamie Sheridan. Honestly, in
- 31:50Speaker 1: episode one, I will say that like he's more of
- 31:53Speaker 1: like a almost a background thing, like a background figure
- 31:57Speaker 1: where it's like I love that they don't really like
- 31:59Speaker 1: show him his face and clear view too much. For
- 32:02Speaker 1: the most part, you don't really see his face. It's
- 32:04Speaker 1: always like kind of shadowed. It's really effective, and that
- 32:07Speaker 1: was something that kind of surprised me because I kind
- 32:09Speaker 1: of remembered what this guy looked like from when I
- 32:12Speaker 1: was a kid and the first time I saw it.
- 32:14Speaker 1: But the way they show Randall Flagg at the beginning,
- 32:17Speaker 1: I think is really cool and you know that he's evil.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Now there's several scenes where he's got like glowing red
- 32:21Speaker 1: eyes and shit, and it's just kind of like this
- 32:24Speaker 1: motherfucker is about to do some Devil shit almost like
- 32:28Speaker 1: he could have been. If Danzig was taller, they could
- 32:30Speaker 1: have put Danzig in there to play Randall Flag. I
- 32:33Speaker 1: think that would have been pretty cool. Actually, they just
- 32:35Speaker 1: would have had to put his ass on stilts, because
- 32:37Speaker 1: if he's not taller than anyone else around him, including
- 32:41Speaker 1: maybe Mother Abigail, I don't know if I would have
- 32:43Speaker 1: been that, you know, I guess he's got magic and shit,
- 32:46Speaker 1: but still, it's just one of those things, you know,
- 32:48Speaker 1: like if he's that much shorter than everybody's kind of like,
- 32:51Speaker 1: who's his fucking pip squeak? I think the Devil would
- 32:53Speaker 1: have hired somebody a little taller. Anyway, we'll move right
- 32:56Speaker 1: on to Lloyd, so uh, because I think if you're
- 32:59Speaker 1: gonna talk about Randall Flag, you kind of got to
- 33:01Speaker 1: talk about Lloyd as far as episode one goes, So
- 33:05Speaker 1: we meet Lloyd Lloyd Henried I think is his last name.
- 33:09Speaker 1: This guy's played by Miguel fr Furr, and I recognize
- 33:13Speaker 1: this guy as one of the FBI agents from Twin Peaks.
- 33:17Speaker 1: He's the guy that he comes into town and he's like,
- 33:20Speaker 1: you know, very by the book, and fucking Harry gets
- 33:24Speaker 1: all pissed. Off at him and punches him and stuff
- 33:26Speaker 1: like that, that's this guy. And I was like, okay, yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 1: I recognize this guy from all sorts of shit very good,
- 33:32Speaker 1: very good as Lloyd. So that Lloyd and Poke they're
- 33:36Speaker 1: basically just these two criminals. And we see them on
- 33:38Speaker 1: this like criminal road trip, and I think this is
- 33:41Speaker 1: before Captain Trips has really like wiped everybody out, because
- 33:44Speaker 1: they just like roll up to this gas station and
- 33:47Speaker 1: start fucking blasting and they're like, you know, everybody, give
- 33:50Speaker 1: us your money or whatever, but like Lloyd just machine
- 33:52Speaker 1: guns this motherfucker to death like instantly, and then they
- 33:57Speaker 1: get into the shootout. There's already like a cop there.
- 34:00Speaker 1: It just happens to be there, and the cop fucking
- 34:02Speaker 1: shoots Poked to death. Lloyd takes off out of there,
- 34:05Speaker 1: but the cops they catch his ass right away and
- 34:07Speaker 1: they slam him into the ground. As they're arresting him,
- 34:10Speaker 1: he looks up and he sees Randall Flagg sitting on
- 34:12Speaker 1: a telephone pole and he's kind of like, what the fuck,
- 34:15Speaker 1: there's a guy up there, But then he turns into
- 34:17Speaker 1: a crow and the cops are like, shut up, bitch,
- 34:19Speaker 1: you're going to jail and shit. So Lloyd gets thrown
- 34:22Speaker 1: in jail, and it's one of the interesting character arcs.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Is just like Lloyd in general, some of the more
- 34:28Speaker 1: interesting character arcs in the story overall, I will say,
- 34:31Speaker 1: and I'm basing that off the book, Like I said,
- 34:33Speaker 1: God damn it, the bucks the book, goddamn can't stop
- 34:36Speaker 1: fucking talking about the book. Captain Tripps hasn't blown up
- 34:39Speaker 1: to the full extent that it has in the rest
- 34:42Speaker 1: of these characters stories. When we meet Lloyd, so he
- 34:45Speaker 1: gets thrown into prison, and when he's in prison, everybody
- 34:49Speaker 1: dies and he's immune, so he's just stuck in prison
- 34:51Speaker 1: with nobody to let his ass out. So he's just like,
- 34:54Speaker 1: you know, help me and shit, and he ends up
- 34:55Speaker 1: eating rats. In the book, he eats like his cellmates
- 34:59Speaker 1: are not his cellmate, but the guy next to him
- 35:01Speaker 1: he can like reach his arm or his leg or something,
- 35:04Speaker 1: so he eats that guy's leg and shit. And then
- 35:07Speaker 1: Randall Flag comes rolling up to him and he's just like, well, well,
- 35:10Speaker 1: well what do we have here? You know? And I
- 35:13Speaker 1: thought this whole interaction was great between Randall Flagg and
- 35:16Speaker 1: Lloyd because obviously Lloyd is confused as fuck about what's
- 35:20Speaker 1: going on. He hasn't seen a guard, another prisoner, he
- 35:23Speaker 1: hasn't heard anybody for who knows how long at this point,
- 35:26Speaker 1: long enough to where he's eating raw rats. So this
- 35:30Speaker 1: guy comes rolling up in a jean jacket and boots
- 35:32Speaker 1: and tight ass jean pants and stuff, and he's just like,
- 35:35Speaker 1: what's going on, Partner says. He says, looks like you're
- 35:39Speaker 1: in some deep kaka, which I love that line. I
- 35:42Speaker 1: thought that was fantastic, you know, cutting around saying the
- 35:46Speaker 1: big swear bombs for the made for TV type of shit,
- 35:49Speaker 1: which I always enjoy that, and he kind of like
- 35:51Speaker 1: edited for TV stuff. It's fantastic. Cracks me up. How
- 35:54Speaker 1: they're just like, well, we can't say shit, but he
- 35:57Speaker 1: might say kaka in the book. Actually, now I think
- 35:59Speaker 1: about I think that's like a Stephen King thing, Coca
- 36:02Speaker 1: excuse me. I think the first time I heard the
- 36:04Speaker 1: word kaka was by the Rock in WWF. I think
- 36:08Speaker 1: he used to say that. Sometimes. It's kind of like
- 36:10Speaker 1: when you find out that dookie means shit and you're
- 36:13Speaker 1: like a green Day you You guys are so clever
- 36:17Speaker 1: snucking a little cussword there on your CD. So anyway, basically,
- 36:21Speaker 1: Randall Flag he does this thing where he pulls out
- 36:24Speaker 1: a rock, like a black rock, and he puts it
- 36:27Speaker 1: on the top of his hand, like right here, and
- 36:30Speaker 1: then his hand bends backward all the way and folds
- 36:33Speaker 1: it up like he's doing this, but he's doing it
- 36:35Speaker 1: like this, and that was a really cool effect too. Actually,
- 36:38Speaker 1: I didn't remember that. I wasn't expecting it, and I
- 36:40Speaker 1: was kind of like, whoa fuck. Yeah, they fucking made
- 36:43Speaker 1: that shit look cool as hell. So he's like, hey, Bud,
- 36:46Speaker 1: you're gonna be higher high up in my ranks as
- 36:49Speaker 1: long as you come with me and you're loyal, and
- 36:52Speaker 1: Lloyd's like, say less, Bud, I don't want to eat
- 36:54Speaker 1: any more fucking rats. I don't want to do any
- 36:57Speaker 1: of this bullshit. I've been stuck in prison with no
- 36:59Speaker 1: food or anything for who knows how long now, just
- 37:02Speaker 1: drinking the fucking toilet water, probably an eating dead rash shit.
- 37:05Speaker 1: So Randall Flagg lets him out. I can't remember if
- 37:08Speaker 1: there's any other cool shit with that. I just thought
- 37:10Speaker 1: that whole interaction was cool, and it kind of gives
- 37:12Speaker 1: you an idea of like Randall Flag almost comes off
- 37:15Speaker 1: as very sinister, but also he's just kind of joking
- 37:18Speaker 1: around and fucking around with Lloyd the whole time. So
- 37:21Speaker 1: I like that. I thought Jamie Sheridan did a really
- 37:23Speaker 1: good job as Randall Flag. And so the other one,
- 37:27Speaker 1: the trash can Man that I mentioned, we run into
- 37:29Speaker 1: him and he's kind of receiving like messages in his
- 37:32Speaker 1: head from Randall Flag basically, just kind of like telling
- 37:35Speaker 1: him like, hey, motherfucker, come to Las Vegas and you're
- 37:39Speaker 1: you're also going to be higher up in my ranks
- 37:41Speaker 1: and stuff like that. But when we first run into
- 37:43Speaker 1: trash Camman, he's fucking in Indiana or something, and he
- 37:47Speaker 1: runs into this big old, uh, I don't know, like
- 37:50Speaker 1: a big fuel thing and he blows it up basically,
- 37:53Speaker 1: and you just kind of like get a summary of
- 37:55Speaker 1: the trash canman. Basically, he's this guy who was sent
- 37:59Speaker 1: to Tara Hote Correctional Facility or something like that mental
- 38:02Speaker 1: hospital or some shit where he was like really badly
- 38:05Speaker 1: abused and I think electro shock therapy his ass and
- 38:09Speaker 1: stuff like that, and so now he just likes blowing
- 38:11Speaker 1: shit up. He likes fire and he likes blowing it up.
- 38:14Speaker 1: I think he always kind of liked that, but now
- 38:15Speaker 1: it's like it's like they took that knob and they
- 38:18Speaker 1: just fucking cranked it all the way up. So he
- 38:20Speaker 1: blows this like refinery up or something like that by
- 38:23Speaker 1: shoving a fucking bomb into it and runs away. And
- 38:27Speaker 1: after that he just walks from wherever the fuck he is.
- 38:29Speaker 1: I can't remember if it's Indiana or not, but it's
- 38:32Speaker 1: it's something like that. He walks all the way from
- 38:34Speaker 1: there to Las Vegas so he can go join Randall
- 38:37Speaker 1: Flagg's army community. I guess, not really an army yet
- 38:40Speaker 1: or anything. I don't know if it ever becomes an army,
- 38:43Speaker 1: but it is different, and I would say that's basically
- 38:46Speaker 1: that's gonna kind of sum up part one, you know.
- 38:49Speaker 1: So we've introduced all the characters, we kind of get
- 38:51Speaker 1: a look at their backstory and how they're all coming
- 38:55Speaker 1: to be on this journey to the West. Let's see
- 38:59Speaker 1: some other on mentions. I talked about Joe Bob Briggs already,
- 39:03Speaker 1: but there's also Kareem Abdul Jabbar, the big ass basketball player.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I love seeing him in movies, him branching out. I
- 39:10Speaker 1: think he was in Enter the Dragon as well. So
- 39:13Speaker 1: it's always fun seeing him pop up. He is the
- 39:15Speaker 1: monster shouterer in New York. So he runs into Larry
- 39:19Speaker 1: in New York and he's basically just like the Devil's coming,
- 39:22Speaker 1: and he like gets in Larry's face and he's like,
- 39:24Speaker 1: the Devil's coming, bitch, Larry, and Larry's kind of like,
- 39:27Speaker 1: what the fuck, how do you know my name? And shit?
- 39:28Speaker 1: And when we first see Randall Flag, Randall Flag makes
- 39:32Speaker 1: him have a heart attack for some reason. He's just like, man,
- 39:34Speaker 1: fuck that guy. Wish he would shut the fuck up.
- 39:37Speaker 1: So he like does a thing to his nipples. He's like,
- 39:40Speaker 1: I really like tweaks him. And that makes Kareem have
- 39:43Speaker 1: a heart attack and die. Also Kathy Bates, so when
- 39:47Speaker 1: we're with Franny, Franny and her dad are listening to
- 39:50Speaker 1: the radio and we hear, you know, all these news
- 39:53Speaker 1: reports about people basically trying to get the word out
- 39:56Speaker 1: that like this Captain Trip, shit's not good. It's real
- 39:59Speaker 1: bad and everyone dying. You need to stay inside, you
- 40:01Speaker 1: need to you know, take care of yourself and don't
- 40:04Speaker 1: trust the government right now because they're being fucking they're
- 40:06Speaker 1: killing people and stuff like that. And so she's reporting
- 40:09Speaker 1: on that shit and basically the military bust in. It's
- 40:12Speaker 1: Kathy Bates is Ray Flowers, a radio announcer, and at
- 40:15Speaker 1: this point, you know they've seen some headlines about captain
- 40:18Speaker 1: trips Frannie and her dad have, but they're kind of like,
- 40:21Speaker 1: what the fuck's going on? And Frannie's really like in
- 40:23Speaker 1: denial about it. She's like, this isn't real, is it?
- 40:26Speaker 1: And the Dad's like, I think it is. And then
- 40:28Speaker 1: they just start fucking blasting Ray Flowers with machine guns,
- 40:32Speaker 1: and that really like hits them as like, this shit's
- 40:35Speaker 1: fucking serious. Show. So I think that covers all the
- 40:37Speaker 1: bases for part one. A lot of my thoughts and
- 40:40Speaker 1: feelings will run go ahead and just run down part two.
- 40:44Speaker 1: In part two, we start seeing more of these characters' dreams,
- 40:47Speaker 1: more of their journey. They start meeting up with some
- 40:50Speaker 1: other characters. Like I said earlier, Lloyd joins Flag. That's
- 40:53Speaker 1: a big one. Stu, he runs into Glenn Bateman. So
- 40:58Speaker 1: Glenn Bateman's this old guy, and this is a really
- 41:01Speaker 1: interesting choice for how they have Stu and Glenn meet
- 41:05Speaker 1: each other. So he just basically walks up behind Glenn
- 41:08Speaker 1: and he has a fucking assault rifle, and Glenn's outside
- 41:12Speaker 1: of his house that he's at and he's painting his
- 41:14Speaker 1: picture with his dog. I think it's Kojak. I have
- 41:17Speaker 1: to look that up to be sure, but he's basically
- 41:19Speaker 1: just like rolls up on him with a rifle and
- 41:21Speaker 1: Glenn's just kind of like, hey, what's going on there, Bud?
- 41:24Speaker 1: And Stu's like not much. How you doing an old guy?
- 41:28Speaker 1: Old timer? Because Glenn's like eighty years old and shit
- 41:31Speaker 1: in this I think he's more like fifty in the book.
- 41:33Speaker 1: And then they're just kind of like, sweet, let's hang out.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Let's be fucking buds, and they do that. They just
- 41:38Speaker 1: kind of hang out at Glenn's house. Glenn's like, uh,
- 41:42Speaker 1: you know, I've been having dreams about the old Black
- 41:45Speaker 1: Lady too, and Stu's like, damn, are you serious? And
- 41:48Speaker 1: he's like and also the fucking evil guy. And Stu's like,
- 41:51Speaker 1: holy shit, brother, this is crazy. And so they're like,
- 41:54Speaker 1: we need to team up and you need to come
- 41:56Speaker 1: with me, and then Glenn's like, fuck yeah, let's do it.
- 41:59Speaker 1: But right before they leave, they're getting ready to go
- 42:01Speaker 1: on this little trip out to Boulder, Colorado, Harold and
- 42:05Speaker 1: Frannie just drive up on motorcycles, and so we haven't
- 42:08Speaker 1: seen anything from Harold and Frannie really other than their one.
- 42:12Speaker 1: They're wanting to go to the disease control center that
- 42:14Speaker 1: Stu was at when they were fucking doing all the
- 42:16Speaker 1: tests on the place that Stu escaped from. So they're
- 42:19Speaker 1: headed out west too, and they just happened to drive
- 42:22Speaker 1: up on Stu and Glen, which is kind of an
- 42:26Speaker 1: odd choice because it just is it just feels like, okay,
- 42:32Speaker 1: So they just drove by this guy's house. I guess, like,
- 42:34Speaker 1: you know, it must be a pretty inviting house if
- 42:37Speaker 1: Stu just walked up there from where the fuck he's
- 42:39Speaker 1: coming from. Because Stu's on foot at this point and
- 42:42Speaker 1: Franny and Harold are on hogs. They got big hogs.
- 42:45Speaker 1: This is where Frannie gets off the hog and she's
- 42:47Speaker 1: just like, ooh, my butt's got fucking callouses on it
- 42:50Speaker 1: now or something. She's like, I'm always gonna have a
- 42:52Speaker 1: callousy ass after this, and it's just kind of like nice,
- 42:56Speaker 1: very cool and Harold. Harold went from wearing like a
- 43:00Speaker 1: jogger suit that has like comstains all over it to
- 43:03Speaker 1: wearing as list chaps with jeans underneath. Him and like
- 43:06Speaker 1: a studded leather jacket, which is you know, there's no
- 43:10Speaker 1: transition into it. He just decides, well, it's the end
- 43:12Speaker 1: of the world. I might as well try to look
- 43:14Speaker 1: as fucking cool as possible. I'm just gonna go full
- 43:16Speaker 1: mad Max Thunderdome on this shit. He's probably got a
- 43:19Speaker 1: metal cock piece underneath those leather pants or whatever that
- 43:23Speaker 1: he's wearing. He's probably probably rated the cock pump factory,
- 43:26Speaker 1: and he's just been juicing up his hog for Franny.
- 43:29Speaker 1: He's trying to fuck Franny. Everyone knows that, right, We
- 43:32Speaker 1: learned about that in part one. So anyway, they team
- 43:34Speaker 1: up and Harold is suspicious of stew. He doesn't think
- 43:38Speaker 1: that Glenn is going to steal Franny from him because
- 43:41Speaker 1: Glenn's eighty years old, although he should be worried about
- 43:44Speaker 1: Glenn too, because as fucking goofball shit as Harold is,
- 43:48Speaker 1: Glenn would probably steal fran from him as well. I
- 43:50Speaker 1: don't think he has much of a chance, but he
- 43:53Speaker 1: knows right away. He's like, here's this, here's fucking young
- 43:55Speaker 1: Gary Sonise up in here. He's gonna steal fucking Franny
- 43:58Speaker 1: from my ass. I have no chance and so he's
- 44:00Speaker 1: kind of like, I don't know if we should go
- 44:02Speaker 1: with him, and we probably shouldn't trust these guys, especially
- 44:05Speaker 1: this one. And he like points at Stu, and Stu's
- 44:07Speaker 1: kind of like he catches it right away. He pulls
- 44:10Speaker 1: him to the side. He's like, listen, Bud, I'm not
- 44:11Speaker 1: trying to cut in or anything like that. And Harold's
- 44:14Speaker 1: kind of like, relly, I thought you would, and you know,
- 44:17Speaker 1: I thought you'd fucking give me a wedgie and stuff
- 44:19Speaker 1: my head in the toilet, swirling my ass and take
- 44:22Speaker 1: my batch. But Stu's like, trust me, brother, I'm not
- 44:25Speaker 1: gonna do that. It's just hilarious because it's exactly what
- 44:28Speaker 1: he does. But it is like it's more natural, you know,
- 44:31Speaker 1: it's not like Franny has to you know. Harold thinks
- 44:35Speaker 1: that like Franny has to be with him for basically
- 44:37Speaker 1: just because it's the end of the world and their
- 44:40Speaker 1: friends or you know, they knew each other before, and
- 44:42Speaker 1: so he's just kind of like she's mine, you know.
- 44:45Speaker 1: And it's even it's even worse than the book as
- 44:47Speaker 1: far as that stuff goes. This whole interaction where they
- 44:50Speaker 1: first meet is even more intense. But anyway, Harold believes them.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Stu hands out beers, Franny doesn't take a beer, and
- 44:58Speaker 1: I think this is like foreshadow going into something that
- 45:00Speaker 1: we learned about later that we know instantly in the book,
- 45:04Speaker 1: and that is that Franny is pregnant. And I think
- 45:06Speaker 1: this is a little more confusing in the miniseries from
- 45:09Speaker 1: what I remember, because when I was reading the book,
- 45:12Speaker 1: I do remember thinking like, Okay, yeah, I remember thinking
- 45:16Speaker 1: that she was pregnant with Stu's baby. But in the book,
- 45:18Speaker 1: right away when she talks to her old boyfriend Jesse
- 45:22Speaker 1: from the beginning part, she's like, I'm pregnant with your
- 45:25Speaker 1: baby and shit. And so in the book the whole time,
- 45:27Speaker 1: you know she's pregnant and you know that it's with
- 45:29Speaker 1: Jesse's baby, but in this one, they haven't talked about
- 45:32Speaker 1: it yet. But the fact that she turns down the beer,
- 45:35Speaker 1: and I think she turns down like any kind of
- 45:37Speaker 1: like prescription medication or something like that as well, I
- 45:40Speaker 1: think it's kind of hinting that she is pregnant, but
- 45:43Speaker 1: they've not talked about it at all, and she didn't
- 45:45Speaker 1: talk about it with her dad either. It's a bigger
- 45:47Speaker 1: deal in the book because her mom and Dad are
- 45:49Speaker 1: both alive in the book, and she kind of gets
- 45:51Speaker 1: into it with both of them about the pregnancy, you know,
- 45:54Speaker 1: obviously causes a lot of tension. So they decide, you
- 45:58Speaker 1: know what, fuck it, we're teaming up. We're all going
- 46:00Speaker 1: to Boulder Cuto together because you know, strength and numbers.
- 46:04Speaker 1: We're all pretty cool here, We're all pretty trustworthy, except
- 46:07Speaker 1: for Harold because look at his fucking ass. But Harold's like, no,
- 46:10Speaker 1: I need to go to the sickness center and Stuve's like,
- 46:12Speaker 1: you don't want to go there, bitch. I was just
- 46:14Speaker 1: there and they try to fucking kill me and shit,
- 46:17Speaker 1: and there's just a bunch of dead guys like rotting
- 46:19Speaker 1: everywhere and shit, and and you know, he's kind of like, no,
- 46:24Speaker 1: I want to go anyway because I don't trust your
- 46:26Speaker 1: ass East Texas. And so they go and Harold walks
- 46:30Speaker 1: out of there puke in his little ass off. He's
- 46:32Speaker 1: like that was disgusting, and Stuve's like, I told you, motherfucker.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Now let's go to Boulder, Colorado and meet up with
- 46:37Speaker 1: this fucking old bitch. And they're like, fair enough. One
- 46:40Speaker 1: thing that I think I need to touch back on
- 46:42Speaker 1: from the first part, and we've jumped around from part
- 46:44Speaker 1: one to part two almost as if they're one one
- 46:47Speaker 1: episode in itself. But I think that's all right. One
- 46:50Speaker 1: thing I didn't really touch on is while Captain Tripps
- 46:52Speaker 1: is going on, you're constantly getting these little shots with
- 46:56Speaker 1: Ed Harris, who's one of the military guys, basically just
- 46:59Speaker 1: talking about how out of control this thing's getting. And
- 47:01Speaker 1: it gets to the point where him and his next
- 47:04Speaker 1: in command, you know, they're getting really worried, and Ed
- 47:08Speaker 1: Harris just blasts himself. He shoots himself, and I think
- 47:11Speaker 1: it's just worth noting because I think it's at Harris anyway.
- 47:14Speaker 1: I might be wrong about that, but I'm pretty sure
- 47:16Speaker 1: it's who it is. It's the guy from the Truman
- 47:18Speaker 1: Show who's like calling all the shots on Truman, but
- 47:22Speaker 1: he does a great job in it. I just realized
- 47:24Speaker 1: that I totally skipped over that whole thing, and it
- 47:26Speaker 1: is like a really interesting spot to see, like where
- 47:29Speaker 1: the people behind the scenes are at with Captain Trips
- 47:32Speaker 1: and how they're kind of dealing with the situation. They're
- 47:36Speaker 1: not handling it well, I'll say that, but it does
- 47:39Speaker 1: make you wonder because like those characters, the Ray Flowers character,
- 47:43Speaker 1: and even like poke in some of those people, like
- 47:46Speaker 1: you kind of wonder what those people have ended up
- 47:48Speaker 1: being immune because at the time that we see them,
- 47:51Speaker 1: they're not showing any symptoms, like before they get killed
- 47:55Speaker 1: in all these different ways, before they kill themselves, before
- 47:58Speaker 1: they get shot. It does kind of make you wonder,
- 48:00Speaker 1: like how many of these people are being gunned down
- 48:03Speaker 1: before they've even had a chance to find out if
- 48:05Speaker 1: they're immune or not. So just had to touch on that.
- 48:07Speaker 1: I don't think it would be right to talk about
- 48:10Speaker 1: this story without going into some of the other military
- 48:13Speaker 1: stuff that goes on early well in it. Next we'll
- 48:15Speaker 1: catch up with Nick Andros or deaf Mute that we
- 48:19Speaker 1: got going on here, and this is where Nick Andros
- 48:22Speaker 1: meets his partner in crime. And his partner in crime
- 48:26Speaker 1: his name is Tom Colin, and this is going to
- 48:29Speaker 1: be one of the uh, well, it's gonna be an
- 48:32Speaker 1: interesting character to talk about if you know what I'm saying.
- 48:36Speaker 1: If you know about Tom Colin, you know the way
- 48:39Speaker 1: they describe him in the mini series is that he's
- 48:42Speaker 1: slightly retarded. And I'll just go ahead and leave it
- 48:45Speaker 1: at that, because I would say, that's probably right. He
- 48:48Speaker 1: can't read, he can't write, so when he meets up
- 48:52Speaker 1: with Nick, he doesn't know what the fuck Nick's writing
- 48:55Speaker 1: down on the paper. He's trying to tell him his
- 48:56Speaker 1: name and shit, and he's like, sorry, Bud, I don't
- 48:58Speaker 1: know how to fucking read. And you know, it takes
- 49:02Speaker 1: him forever to figure out that Nick can't hear or talk,
- 49:05Speaker 1: but when he does, he's super excited. And Tom Collin's
- 49:08Speaker 1: an amazing character. It's hard to say. I keep I
- 49:10Speaker 1: feel like every character I talk about him just like
- 49:12Speaker 1: one of my favorite characters in the book, because they're
- 49:14Speaker 1: all so well done, they're all so well written, and
- 49:18Speaker 1: Tom Collins no exception. I feel like the book wouldn't
- 49:20Speaker 1: be the same without him. It's it's the reason why
- 49:23Speaker 1: this book is so great, and why this story is
- 49:25Speaker 1: so great because of all these characters. So anyway they
- 49:29Speaker 1: get together, they quickly kind of talk about what's going
- 49:32Speaker 1: on as best as they can. Nick's like, Hey, Tom,
- 49:35Speaker 1: I'm riding my bike to Boulder, Colorado because I've been
- 49:38Speaker 1: having the dreams. And Tom's like, I've been having the
- 49:41Speaker 1: dreams too. The old lady, the scary guy. He's like
- 49:44Speaker 1: get on your bike and ride, motherfucker. We're gonna go
- 49:47Speaker 1: to Boulder, Colorado. So they start riding. Tom Colin apparently
- 49:51Speaker 1: gets into an apple trough of some sort, or he
- 49:53Speaker 1: like raids an apple tree or something eats so many
- 49:56Speaker 1: apples that he gets diarrhea or I'm assuming he's getting
- 49:59Speaker 1: diary because he's just because it's Stephen King. I don't
- 50:02Speaker 1: think Stephen King would write like a constipated character unless
- 50:05Speaker 1: it was like once the constipation breaks and they're just
- 50:08Speaker 1: having the biggest, grossest shit of their lives, or they're
- 50:11Speaker 1: like clogging up the toilet or something. You know what
- 50:13Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's a Stephen King story, so it's gonna
- 50:17Speaker 1: be descriptive shit in there, descriptive shits. Tom Colin has
- 50:22Speaker 1: a BM is what this chapter is called. So he's
- 50:24Speaker 1: just like, oh my fucking tummy and stuff. And Nick's like,
- 50:27Speaker 1: hang here a second, I'm gonna go get you some peptos.
- 50:30Speaker 1: So he runs in and this is where we run
- 50:32Speaker 1: into what I would consider like maybe another either like
- 50:36Speaker 1: somewhat bad character. This is Julie Lowry, and Julie Lowry
- 50:41Speaker 1: is played by Shannie Smith, who I think is most
- 50:44Speaker 1: notable for being the lady in the Saw movie that
- 50:47Speaker 1: has the reverse bear trap on her head. I don't
- 50:49Speaker 1: remember if they ever talked about how old Julie Lowry
- 50:52Speaker 1: is in the movie, but in the books she's sixteen also,
- 50:54Speaker 1: So like Nick meets her, he's like, hey, I got
- 50:57Speaker 1: a friend out there. I'm you know, I'm nice and
- 50:59Speaker 1: stuff deaf and I can't talk and shit like that,
- 51:02Speaker 1: and she's like, oh cool, and she's she does a
- 51:04Speaker 1: fantastic job in this uh. In this movie, Shannie Smith
- 51:08Speaker 1: does a great job as Julie Lowry. It made me
- 51:11Speaker 1: like the character a lot more than I did in
- 51:13Speaker 1: the book. Like right away, I was kind of like this,
- 51:15Speaker 1: like like Julie Lowry sucks, you know, but it does
- 51:18Speaker 1: throw an interesting curve into the story and stuff like that.
- 51:21Speaker 1: But Shannie Smith does a great job. She's like all
- 51:23Speaker 1: like super excited to see somebody, and she instantly starts
- 51:27Speaker 1: trying to fuck Nick, and Nick's just kind of like whoa, whoa.
- 51:30Speaker 1: She's like, you know, she's like damn, you know, you
- 51:32Speaker 1: got a big cock and stuff like that, and he's
- 51:34Speaker 1: just kind of like cool, you know, but he's like, nah,
- 51:38Speaker 1: we can't be fucking you know what I'm saying, We
- 51:40Speaker 1: can't fucking the drug store right now when my when
- 51:43Speaker 1: my special friends out there with a tummy ache, I
- 51:45Speaker 1: gotta go get him the peptoe. And she's kind of
- 51:47Speaker 1: like really put off by this. She's like, are you
- 51:49Speaker 1: fucking joking me? Here's the thing though, in the book,
- 51:52Speaker 1: Nick straight up bones her ass. In the book, Nick
- 51:55Speaker 1: Fuck's Julie Lowry, even though he knows that she's sixteen
- 51:58Speaker 1: years old. He's just like, what whatever sin of the world,
- 52:04Speaker 1: you know? But Rob low was probably like, I'm not
- 52:07Speaker 1: doing that. I don't I can't remember what it was,
- 52:09Speaker 1: but Rob wo had some sort of scandal going on
- 52:11Speaker 1: around this time. I didn't look into it, but it's
- 52:14Speaker 1: something about him fucking somebody, probably somebody that maybe shouldn't
- 52:18Speaker 1: have been fucking you know what I'm saying. I don't
- 52:20Speaker 1: know anyway, So he says, no, no, no, I gotta
- 52:23Speaker 1: take care of Tom Colin. He's got the shits, he's
- 52:26Speaker 1: got the Diary of shits, and he's about to ship
- 52:28Speaker 1: his bib overalls off of his body if I don't
- 52:30Speaker 1: give him this fucking pepto bismol anytime. Though, so she's
- 52:33Speaker 1: like whatever. He goes out there and she's she like
- 52:35Speaker 1: comes out after him, and she's kind of like pissy,
- 52:38Speaker 1: you know. She's like, he want to fuck me, so
- 52:40Speaker 1: I'm mad. So she over she's over Nick Andros's shoulder
- 52:45Speaker 1: and she's just like she's telling Tom Colin. She's like,
- 52:48Speaker 1: don't drink it, Tom, it's poison, you know. And Tom's like, oh,
- 52:52Speaker 1: fuck poison. My papa told me not to have a
- 52:55Speaker 1: drink poison. You know. They do the thing with Tom
- 52:57Speaker 1: Colin where it's like the you know, don't go full
- 53:01Speaker 1: retard kind of thing. Like like I said, they describe
- 53:04Speaker 1: him as slightly retarded, and uh yeah, it's the Tropics
- 53:07Speaker 1: under magic of it all, the Robert Downey Junior's suggestion
- 53:10Speaker 1: in that movie. So they pull that off pretty well.
- 53:13Speaker 1: He does have an insane bowl haircut. It's it rivals
- 53:17Speaker 1: Harry from Dumb and Dumber or Lloyd, right, yeah, rivals
- 53:22Speaker 1: Lloyd's bowl cut from Dumb and Dumber. It's very straight
- 53:25Speaker 1: and very shiny and almost looks like a little crooked,
- 53:28Speaker 1: like he's been doing it himself, if you know what
- 53:30Speaker 1: I'm saying. So anyway, Nick, you know, he calms him down.
- 53:33Speaker 1: He's like, Hey, this shit's not poison. It's gonna help
- 53:35Speaker 1: out your belly hunt. You need to fucking drink this shit.
- 53:37Speaker 1: And he points the gun at Julie Lowry and he's
- 53:40Speaker 1: just like, get out of here, bitch. We do not
- 53:41Speaker 1: need dress and our fucking crew. We're going to Boulder, Colorado.
- 53:45Speaker 1: Get the fuck out of our face. And she's just like, oh, really, motherfuckers,
- 53:49Speaker 1: you're gonna be sorry, and she runs off crying and
- 53:51Speaker 1: they're kind of like, dumbass, bitch, fucking cla, you know,
- 53:54Speaker 1: hit the fucking road, bitch, and stuff like that. And
- 53:57Speaker 1: then a second later, she's out this out of a
- 54:00Speaker 1: windows shooting a rifle at him, and they're just like,
- 54:02Speaker 1: holy shit, we gotta get the fuck out of here.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Luckily she misses them, but she's like doing the Xenial
- 54:07Speaker 1: Warrior Princess call at them and stuff and blasting and
- 54:10Speaker 1: just like going nuts, and it's one of those things
- 54:12Speaker 1: where you're just like, I wonder if she was actually
- 54:14Speaker 1: trying to kill them or missing on purpose, because some
- 54:17Speaker 1: of those shots do come pretty close, and it's like,
- 54:19Speaker 1: was she really gonna blast him over that? Over that interaction?
- 54:23Speaker 1: She's evil, evil, ass beach. Cool. Damn Sorry, that was
- 54:27Speaker 1: a fucking Randall flagbird. So now let's jump over to Larry.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Larry meets this lady named Nadine, and Nadine has like
- 54:37Speaker 1: blackish gray hair. Larry's kind of like, hell yeah, this rules.
- 54:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna like this lady's gonna be my fucking girlfriend
- 54:44Speaker 1: and shit like that, I think. And he's like, why
- 54:46Speaker 1: don't we team up and go somewhere, go to fucking Boulder,
- 54:49Speaker 1: Colorado and shit. And she's kind of like, okay, And
- 54:52Speaker 1: Nadine's a little weird. You kind of get it right
- 54:54Speaker 1: off the bat. There's something a little off about Nadine
- 54:57Speaker 1: and she's popping pills all the time. But they end
- 55:00Speaker 1: up going, you know, going out west together. They start
- 55:03Speaker 1: their journey quickly. They run into the Lincoln Tunnel, which
- 55:07Speaker 1: is one of the one of the most suspenseful scenes
- 55:12Speaker 1: in the book, and they do a pretty good job
- 55:14Speaker 1: with it here, but at the same time, I feel
- 55:16Speaker 1: like they kind of rush it. I feel like they
- 55:17Speaker 1: could have like played up some of the horror and
- 55:20Speaker 1: some of the suspense in this scene. But Larry, basically
- 55:23Speaker 1: they get into a fight right before then because Nadine's like,
- 55:25Speaker 1: I cannot go in that dark ass tunnel, Larry, Let's
- 55:28Speaker 1: just go around, and he's like bullshit. He's like, I'm
- 55:31Speaker 1: going through there. If you didn't want to go through there,
- 55:33Speaker 1: you should told me that a long time ago. Fuck,
- 55:35Speaker 1: this is nuts. And so she's like all right, I'm
- 55:37Speaker 1: going the long way and he's like, have fun getting
- 55:40Speaker 1: raped and murdered on Seventh Street yet, idiot, and she's
- 55:43Speaker 1: just like fine, and so she goes. They split up.
- 55:46Speaker 1: He starts going through the Lincoln Tunnel by himself, and
- 55:49Speaker 1: there's just all these dead bodies and shit, you know,
- 55:51Speaker 1: and he won't stop looking at him. He keeps telling
- 55:53Speaker 1: himself like, look at the don't look at the damn bodies,
- 55:56Speaker 1: but he can't help himself. E Actually, one of the
- 55:59Speaker 1: bodies like looks out and it's like you're doing Larry
- 56:02Speaker 1: or some shit like that, and he's like hah. But
- 56:05Speaker 1: then it looks back and the body is not actually
- 56:07Speaker 1: alive or moving or anything or talking to him. He's
- 56:09Speaker 1: kind of like, ooh, I'm losing it. But then he
- 56:12Speaker 1: hears something. It's Nadine. She's back, and she's just like, hey, yeah,
- 56:16Speaker 1: I've made a mistake. I'm actually gonna team up with
- 56:18Speaker 1: you now and stuff again. He's like all right, So
- 56:21Speaker 1: they go on, they get through the tunnel, they get
- 56:24Speaker 1: through New Jersey. They're kind of camping around and shit,
- 56:27Speaker 1: and basically they're like almost about to bang a lot
- 56:31Speaker 1: of the time, like they're kind of like getting hot
- 56:33Speaker 1: and heavy. But she keeps being like, I can't bang you.
- 56:36Speaker 1: I can't bang you, Larry. This is gonna this isn't
- 56:39Speaker 1: gonna be good. But but they're about too. They're kind
- 56:42Speaker 1: of humping around with mesh shorts on and stuff like that,
- 56:45Speaker 1: rubbing on each other and then when they fall, but
- 56:47Speaker 1: she's like, Larry, I cannot do sex with you tonight orever,
- 56:51Speaker 1: so let's just forget about it. And he's like all right.
- 56:54Speaker 1: So they go to bed, and when she goes to bed,
- 56:56Speaker 1: she has a crazy dream. This whole chapter is called dream,
- 56:59Speaker 1: so everybody he's having crazy dreams and shit. And she
- 57:02Speaker 1: dreams that she's in the desert with Randall Flag and
- 57:05Speaker 1: he's just like, yeah, we're married now, bitch, and she's
- 57:08Speaker 1: just like cool, you know, okay, okay, that sounds good.
- 57:11Speaker 1: And he's just like, you need to leave him, and
- 57:13Speaker 1: this is a pretty cool scene because his eyes turned
- 57:15Speaker 1: into little black dots, like he's got them fucking limp
- 57:18Speaker 1: biscuit contacts in and he's just like, leave them, leave them.
- 57:22Speaker 1: And then she flashes back and she wakes up and
- 57:24Speaker 1: she's like, holy fucking So she leaves Larry a little
- 57:27Speaker 1: note and basically says like, Larry, I had to leave
- 57:30Speaker 1: or else we were gonna have sex and that would
- 57:32Speaker 1: not have been good. Anyway, see you later, alligator. I'll
- 57:35Speaker 1: see your ass in hell, because that's where we're going.
- 57:39Speaker 1: That's where this story's going. And so that was one
- 57:41Speaker 1: of the dreams that we see there. I can't remember
- 57:44Speaker 1: when this happens exactly. There's another dream that happens with
- 57:47Speaker 1: Stu that I feel like is worth mentioning because he
- 57:51Speaker 1: sees Mother Abigail. For some reason, he's not wearing a shirt.
- 57:53Speaker 1: He's just like walking through the cornfield without a shirt on.
- 57:56Speaker 1: And if you know about cornfields, them shits will slice
- 57:59Speaker 1: you up big time. So anyway, but it's a dream,
- 58:01Speaker 1: so he gives a fuck. He's walking through the cornfield
- 58:03Speaker 1: shirtless and he sees her and he's just like, hey,
- 58:06Speaker 1: mother Abigail, what's up? And she's just like, hey, Stewart,
- 58:09Speaker 1: how are you doing, honey, And he's like, oh, pretty good,
- 58:12Speaker 1: just fucking hanging out in the corn, you know. And
- 58:15Speaker 1: then he looks down. He's like, fuck shit, there's a
- 58:17Speaker 1: bunch of rats on my feet. And she's just like,
- 58:19Speaker 1: oh yeah, it's the dark Man here too, and so
- 58:22Speaker 1: he takes off running through the corn again, and then
- 58:25Speaker 1: he runs like when he turns around, he's like in
- 58:27Speaker 1: I think at the hospital. He's back in the hospital
- 58:30Speaker 1: and he sees this guy with like his eyes fucking
- 58:32Speaker 1: punched out and like blood spitting out of his mouth, and.
- 58:35Speaker 2: He's just like, get out of your stew or something.
- 58:37Speaker 2: He's like, turn around, motherfucker, don't go to fucking puld
- 58:40Speaker 2: the Colorado. And Stud's like, oh shit, and so he
- 58:43Speaker 2: runs away. And then Randall Flagg just like steps out
- 58:45Speaker 2: of the doorway, like right in his face. And this
- 58:48Speaker 2: is something I haven't been able to get the captions on,
- 58:51Speaker 2: you know, while I'm watching this, there's no captions available, unfortunately,
- 58:54Speaker 2: but I swear like Randall Flagg steps out in front
- 58:57Speaker 2: of him and just goes the plague And I was like, like,
- 59:00Speaker 2: what what the fuck does that mean?
- 59:02Speaker 1: Why would he say that? But the more I was
- 59:03Speaker 1: thinking about it was like maybe he said like like
- 59:06Speaker 1: stay away or something like that. He doesn't want him
- 59:09Speaker 1: to meet up with Mother Abigail. He doesn't want this
- 59:12Speaker 1: like powerful force of good to uh to combat his
- 59:17Speaker 1: evil mission that he's on, you know what I'm saying.
- 59:20Speaker 1: But if he just said the play, which I'm gonna
- 59:22Speaker 1: have to look that up. At some point, I was
- 59:23Speaker 1: maybe one of the goofiest. Fuck it, it made me
- 59:25Speaker 1: laugh because I was like, why would he just step
- 59:27Speaker 1: out It's like the plague his face like that, just
- 59:30Speaker 1: to spook him, just to scare him. You think that's
- 59:33Speaker 1: gonna scare Stu Redmond. He's got another thing coming. Randall
- 59:36Speaker 1: Flagg more like Randall. We got past Larry and Nadine.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Mother Abigail. They find her, Nick Andrews finds her with
- 59:42Speaker 1: Tom Collen and some other people, like another couple and
- 59:45Speaker 1: a little girl or something, and they're just like, here,
- 59:48Speaker 1: we are, time to go. But she's like, first, let's
- 59:52Speaker 1: have a meal. So they have a big feast and stuff.
- 59:54Speaker 1: They break bread together and they stay the night at
- 59:57Speaker 1: Mother Abigail's house. And this is probably one of the
- 59:59Speaker 1: only other moments where you kind of see Mother Abigail
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: as a human and not just like a supernatural religious
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: force or whatever to be to be dealt with. And
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: so she's really upset because she's like, I don't want
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: to leave my damn cabin. She's got this like really
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: like Amish style way of life that she's been doing
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: for one hundred and six years now, so she's sad
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: that she has to leave and moved to Boulder, Colorado,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: to this mysterious basically like mission that they're on. And
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: so they pack all their shit and they got I
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: think a few other people maybe show up with another
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: vehicle or or maybe not yet, but anyway, they've got
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: a couple of trucks there. And this is one of
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: the moments that just like fucking cracked me up because
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: as they're getting ready to leave, you know, she's like
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: I can't believe I'm leaving, and they're just kind of like, yeah,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Nick's like, you know, sorry, mother, A sorry, big time dog.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: And then they help her up in the truck and
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: you think, like, first of all, what are they doing
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: because they're like lifting her into the bed of the
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: truck like the back, and you see that her rocking
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: chair is just like ratchet strapped down and she just
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: sits in it. And they take off, driving with one
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: hundred and six year old woman in the back of
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: a truck sitting on a rocking chair that's held together
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: by ratchet straps. And it's just like, you couldn't have
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: given mother Abigail shotgun, You motherfuckers, you stupid bastards. What
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: if she goes flying out of the back of that thing.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: She's one hundred and six, she's extremely frail. There's no
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: way she's surviving that. So anyway, they take off the Boulder, Colorado.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: We kind of see them begin the free Zone. More
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: people start arriving, more people are having cool dreams and
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: bad dreams, and they're just like, yeah, we're doing it.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: We're doing the Free Zone. This is gonna be great.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: And we also cut over and we see the juxtaposition
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: of Randall flags Las Vegas and Randall flags Las Vegas
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: kind of looks like a Ramstem music video or even
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: like a Corn music video or something. There's just like
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: trash everywhere and like a fucking you know, a bunch
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: of goof shit going on, a bunch of like tank
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: abbot looking fellows running around doing shit, but we see
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: it for a second. We also see the trash Can
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: Man arrived to Las Vegas at this time, and he's
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: just like, hell yeah, I'm so happy to be here.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: He falls into the fountain. He crashes into a casino.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: We see Lloyd and a group of guys playing cards
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: at the casino and they're kind of like, should we
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: get rid of that motherfucker? He looks fucked up because
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: trash Canman is covered in sunburns, he's basically wearing like
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: diaper on the outside of his pants, just like full
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: of shit because he's just been walking through the desert
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: for like months now, who knows how long. But Lloyd's like, no,
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: we're not doing shit to him because Randall Flagg said
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: he's special. We got to make sure we take good
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: care of him or something like that. And then one
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: of the guys is kind of like where the hell
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: is flag anyway, and he's like, Oh, why do you
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: want to go talk to him? And he's just kind
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: of like, no, sorry, I asked. I don't want to
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: go talk to him because I don't want him to
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: turn me into a fucking frog or something. Because he's
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: like magic or whatever. So let me think that's pretty
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: much straps Up Part two. That's part one and part
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: two in a nutshell. I think I kind of covered
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: all the bases there. Yeah, yeah, I think so. I'm
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: sure there's probably some things that I'm missing, but those
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: are all the main things that kind of stood out
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: to me. Now basically, what this is, what we're leading
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: or what we're leading into at this point, is that
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: the Boulder Free Zone is going to be more of
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: a democracy and the Las Vegas area is going to
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: be more of like an authoritarian style of government run
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: by Randall Flagg and his cronies. I guess you would say,
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: his like members, his followers, and that is something that's
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: like way different, and I think we'll probably get into
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: that more as this goes on. Is that like from
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: what we're seeing in Las Vegas in the movie, it's
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: very like stereotypical evil. It feels like a wasteland almost,
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: you know what I mean, or just like this like
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: post apocalyptic like typical almost like Mad Max style of
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: living situation that we got going on here where it's
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: it feels a lot more like lawless in a way.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: Although I'm curious to see how they do that, because
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: in the book they're almost like very similar where when
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: you see Boulder, Colorado, you see see them grow in
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: the society based off of the one that we were
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: currently living in before the plague, and how it's functioning
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: and everyone's kind of getting along and you know, people
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: are being good to each other, and I think they're
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: just happy to have more people around and stuff like
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: that and like a return to normalcy, if you will.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: But in the Las Vegas in the book, it's fairly similar.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Other than Randall, Flagg is more harsh about punishment, I'll say,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: I'm curious to see how we go into that as
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: this goes on, because in the book, he's just like
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: if someone does drugs, he just fucking kills him. He
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: like crucify him. And basically if someone steps out of
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: line in any way, he's just gonna smoke him. But
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: other than that, there's like a lot of really nice,
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: smart people that end up in Las Vegas as well,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: and they're all more or less getting along. It's a
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: very civilized situation that you got going on in Las
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: Vegas as well. That doesn't seem that much different than Bolder.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Other than who you have leading it and how that
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: leadership is being presented. So that's it Part one and
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: two of The Stand, the miniseries We Got It, We
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Got It Done. Join me next week for part three
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: and four of The Stand. If you haven't read the
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: book yet, get started, because after that we're going to uh,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: we're going to start getting into the book. We'll start
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: talking about that too. Thanks, thanks for listening. Have a
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: good night.
