- 0:13Speaker 1: Hey everybody welcome to pink shade it's thursday it's poppin
- 0:16Speaker 1: bravo day we're going to talk about maybe a little
- 0:19Speaker 1: pop culture a lot of bravo and i've got my
- 0:22Speaker 1: flint my flint and my friend melissa reich of yabish
- 0:27Speaker 1: therapist hey girl Hi.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Mary Payne. How are you, my friend? My flend, my friend.
- 0:32Speaker 1: My flend.
- 0:33Speaker 2: All the things.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I've done that so much this week. Gotten tongue-tied and
- 0:38Speaker 1: said the wrong thing. And I was like, what? I
- 0:42Speaker 1: need a nap? I don't know what's happening.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I mean, you're a traveling woman. You're just doing so
- 0:46Speaker 2: many things. And I feel sometimes when our brains, even
- 0:49Speaker 2: when we're doing fun things, it takes brain space. And
- 0:52Speaker 2: I don't know. I think that's pretty normal, especially as
- 0:55Speaker 2: we age. I find myself reaching for words, grabbing for words,
- 0:58Speaker 2: if I'm even like good stress or whatever. So it's,
- 1:02Speaker 2: it's okay.
- 1:04Speaker 1: The menopause brain of not being able to remember words
- 1:07Speaker 1: is really rough.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Really rough. Also like going into a room and being like,
- 1:12Speaker 2: why am I in here? But like constantly, it's just,
- 1:17Speaker 2: you know, aging is a gift, but it's also, it's
- 1:20Speaker 2: hard ladies. It's hard.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I wanted to tell you that yesterday and today I
- 1:24Speaker 1: sent a text to, And then, you know, maybe like
- 1:27Speaker 1: hours later, I thought, huh, I never got a reply
- 1:29Speaker 1: and looked. It's because I never sent it. I typed it.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:34Speaker 1: But I was like, I wonder if they didn't reply
- 1:35Speaker 1: because I didn't hit send.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah, they weren't psychic. Oh, God.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I was going to tell you this. Speaking of like beforehand,
- 1:42Speaker 1: so I was confirming because I always feel like your name,
- 1:46Speaker 1: which is spelled R-E-I-C-H, I always want to say Reich,
- 1:49Speaker 1: but it's Reich. So beforehand, I was confirming with you.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Now, okay. Okay.
- 1:55Speaker 1: On Tuesday's episode that I put out regarding about 90
- 1:58Speaker 1: Day Fiance, there was a girl who packed sauce in
- 2:02Speaker 1: her bag to go to another country. And this is
- 2:05Speaker 1: the sauce she packed. I'm going to spell it and
- 2:07Speaker 1: then you tell me how you say it.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Okay? Okay.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Okay. E-N-C-H-I-L-A-D-A.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Oh, enchilada?
- 2:17Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. So I said enchilada.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And so Kimberly said, did you say enchilada?
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And I said, enchilada sauce. Yeah, she's putting enchilada sauce.
- 2:28Speaker 1: We went on for a solid five minutes. And not
- 2:32Speaker 1: only am I wrong, I've been told by at least
- 2:35Speaker 1: 30 people on the internet that I'm wrong. I understand
- 2:38Speaker 1: that I'm wrong. You guys, I know that I'm wrong.
- 2:40Speaker 1: But I sent it to my family group chat, like
- 2:44Speaker 1: with my parents, and said, how do you say this word?
- 2:47Speaker 1: You use A-H-N, enchilada, or like E-N, like end. And
- 2:53Speaker 1: my mom wrote back, well, it's enchilada. A-H-E-N, enchilada. I
- 2:58Speaker 1: was like, well, that's where I got it from.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Well, could that be like a little bit of a
- 3:02Speaker 2: Southern thing too?
- 3:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess so. I looked it up. I looked
- 3:08Speaker 1: it up. How would a Southern person say it? And
- 3:12Speaker 1: they literally gave me enchilada. That's what they gave me.
- 3:17Speaker 2: That sounds like how Sutton would say it. Yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Angel out. Angel out.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Either way, I know that I'm wrong. I blame my
- 3:25Speaker 1: mother as, speaking of I have a therapist on, will
- 3:29Speaker 1: just blame the mother.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Blame the parent. Blame the mother. It's all their fault.
- 3:33Speaker 1: And I'm sorry. I'm going to probably continue to... I
- 3:35Speaker 1: don't have a lot of occasion to say that word.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Sure. Sure.
- 3:39Speaker 1: But now if I go to a restaurant, I'll make
- 3:41Speaker 1: sure that I.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I mean, here's the thing. It's not so wild that
- 3:47Speaker 2: someone wouldn't get your meaning. It's not like you're saying
- 3:52Speaker 2: something ridiculous. But I do find it so interesting based
- 3:56Speaker 2: on where we grew up, who, like, you know, because
- 3:58Speaker 2: I grew up in the Midwest. So sometimes I'll have
- 4:00Speaker 2: like a Midwestern accent. But now I live on the
- 4:02Speaker 2: East Coast. And then I'll find myself saying some words differently.
- 4:06Speaker 2: We are a product of our environment. And, you know,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I think the world is challenging enough. Don't beat yourself
- 4:14Speaker 2: up on how you say enchilada, enchilada. It's, you know,
- 4:18Speaker 2: we're just doing the best we can over here.
- 4:19Speaker 1: My mom also says buffet instead of buffet. Buffet. And
- 4:26Speaker 1: so now we give her a hard time about that
- 4:29Speaker 1: one where I was like, oh, we're going to get
- 4:30Speaker 1: all the buffet. But then I looked it up and
- 4:32Speaker 1: that is can be a way that you say it.
- 4:35Speaker 1: So she's correct on that one.
- 4:36Speaker 2: There you go.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Incorrect with enchilada.
- 4:39Speaker 2: For example, some people will say aunt and some people
- 4:43Speaker 2: will say aunt. Right. Aunt. Right. But aunt is the
- 4:47Speaker 2: proper way to say that word. So, you know, it's really,
- 4:51Speaker 2: it's so funny though. Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I thought you'd like that. And as we were, I
- 4:56Speaker 1: was like, now I'm going to check every pronunciation before
- 4:59Speaker 1: I log on to this to make sure.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Oh, that's why you're shaken.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I knew it was right, but then I questioned myself
- 5:07Speaker 1: because I was like, maybe I've been saying it wrong
- 5:09Speaker 1: the whole time.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Well, you were traumatized by the enchilada enchilada situation, you know, so.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Apologies to the enchilada community.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I don't know. Potato, I say potato, you know.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Nobody says potato.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I know. That's actually a great point. Who the hell
- 5:26Speaker 2: does say potato?
- 5:27Speaker 1: And who says tomato?
- 5:29Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe Fancy Pants. Heather, maybe Fancy Pants
- 5:34Speaker 2: says that.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I do have a friend that did say tomato. Really?
- 5:37Speaker 1: And she was fancy. She grew up in England.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Like, I feel like that's something that maybe
- 5:41Speaker 2: Jessel or Tia might say from Tomic. Yeah.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Tomato.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Tomato. Tomato.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Well, let's get into our shows here. Now, neither one
- 5:51Speaker 1: of us are watching OC. Now, I tried. The last
- 5:54Speaker 1: episode that was on, it was on my television. And
- 5:58Speaker 1: so I did see some things, but I could not
- 6:00Speaker 1: tell you what it was.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Because you were so checked out.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like, let me just try to get
- 6:06Speaker 1: in on this show. I was like, I don't care.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Well, can I tell you something interesting that I feel
- 6:11Speaker 2: like I realized? Did you watch Ultimate Girls Trip?
- 6:13Speaker 1: Of course.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Okay. So I just caught up because... Um, for those
- 6:19Speaker 2: who don't know, I went on vacation and then I
- 6:21Speaker 2: came back and I had a million medical issues and
- 6:25Speaker 2: I was like in a depressive episode and I just
- 6:27Speaker 2: couldn't do Bravo. I was just like, la, la, la, la, la.
- 6:31Speaker 2: So I'm just catching up and I watched all of
- 6:33Speaker 2: ultimate girls trip, which number one, it was amazing.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:36Speaker 2: But number two, something that really resonated with.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Me is how much.
- 6:42Speaker 2: OCD I think the reason that we're all struggling with
- 6:47Speaker 2: it as fans is like, I'll give you an example.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Potomac and Atlanta are great examples of women who show up,
- 6:55Speaker 2: they do their job, but there is a real sisterhood there, right?
- 6:58Speaker 2: They can be shady, they can be mean, they can
- 7:01Speaker 2: be funny, whatever. But at the end of the day,
- 7:04Speaker 2: there's that love and there's that sisterhood. But what I
- 7:07Speaker 2: realized watching Vicky on OC, do you know Ultimate Girls Trip,
- 7:13Speaker 2: it made me like Vicky because I felt like I
- 7:15Speaker 2: understood her more in terms of sometimes all you need
- 7:20Speaker 2: is someone to hear you to listen and to validate.
- 7:23Speaker 2: And the ladies on OC seem incapable of doing that.
- 7:27Speaker 1: They're over her.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah, they're over her, but they're over each other. And
- 7:32Speaker 2: I feel like the OC ladies just have a real
- 7:34Speaker 2: lack of sisterhood. That's what I'm going to call it.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I feel like Salt Lake is bordering on that same
- 7:42Speaker 2: path where it's like. We want the shade. We want
- 7:46Speaker 2: the drama. But at the end of the day, it
- 7:48Speaker 2: feels mean if there's not love there and real sisterhood.
- 7:52Speaker 2: So for me, the long roundabout point is that I
- 7:56Speaker 2: feel OC is falling victim to everyone is acting. Everyone
- 8:01Speaker 2: is out for themselves. Everyone is just trying to be
- 8:04Speaker 2: a cultural icon. And that's, I think, why it's falling
- 8:07Speaker 2: flat for viewers. But I don't know. That's just my theory.
- 8:11Speaker 2: And I would love to hear what other people think
- 8:13Speaker 2: about that.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It's interesting that you're pointing out because I think Ultimate
- 8:17Speaker 1: Girls Trip being on at the same time as OC
- 8:20Speaker 1: sort of pointed out a lot of things. Like Lisa Barlow,
- 8:24Speaker 1: everybody loved her. And then they go to the white
- 8:27Speaker 1: party and they hear like, oh, a lot of her
- 8:29Speaker 1: cast members don't like her. And they're like, oh, should
- 8:31Speaker 1: we question that we like her? But she was feeling
- 8:35Speaker 1: so like, seen and loved and she was having this
- 8:38Speaker 1: sisterhood with this these other housewives because she was like
- 8:41Speaker 1: my whole cast is so mean everybody hates me so
- 8:44Speaker 1: it was it was very interesting that these all these
- 8:48Speaker 1: housewives from different places coming together felt that they could
- 8:51Speaker 1: under and for them to have the balls to tell
- 8:54Speaker 1: the way i'm like shut up we don't want to
- 8:57Speaker 1: hear about your cabaret you're taking and for her to
- 8:59Speaker 1: hear it.
- 9:01Speaker 2: That, if I was teaching a class, that scene would
- 9:05Speaker 2: have been a part of my curriculum. And I'm going
- 9:08Speaker 2: to tell you why. And again, this is the thing
- 9:11Speaker 2: I love about Potomac and about Atlanta franchises. They will
- 9:15Speaker 2: gather you. They will collect you when your behavior is
- 9:20Speaker 2: not acceptable. And it's so funny because you see, it's
- 9:24Speaker 2: a good example of how the housewives' dynamic's like their
- 9:28Speaker 2: personalities shift when they're in different group dynamics. Yes. It's
- 9:32Speaker 2: almost like a sociological experiment, you know, like how Lisa
- 9:36Speaker 2: Barlow and Luann, who, you know, they're pretty selfish, self-focused,
- 9:40Speaker 2: but when you see them in this group, when they
- 9:44Speaker 2: confronted Luann and it was like, The best example of
- 9:48Speaker 2: how if you stay calm and you stay centered and
- 9:52Speaker 2: you stay gentle with someone, you can break through any
- 9:56Speaker 2: sort of denial, deflecting, defensiveness. because at first Luann tried
- 10:01Speaker 2: to get out of it right this was so wild
- 10:03Speaker 2: to watch and then of course Lisa like goes to
- 10:06Speaker 2: hug her because Lisa is an enabler like she that's
- 10:09Speaker 2: just that's who she is like queen enabler and And
- 10:12Speaker 2: but when you saw Portia, who I believe was MVP
- 10:16Speaker 2: of Ultimate Girls Trip, and this is one of the
- 10:19Speaker 2: moments that I think solidified that. And she's like, do
- 10:23Speaker 2: not coddle her ass. Like, do not enable her.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 2: You know what we're saying is true.
- 10:28Speaker 1: She's like, you're the problem.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Stop. Yes, yes, yes. And then it was like a
- 10:33Speaker 2: switch flipped and you could just see Luann. Like her manipulative,
- 10:37Speaker 2: selfish piece being like, wait a second, I'm not getting
- 10:40Speaker 2: out of this. But they're right. And I can hear
- 10:44Speaker 2: it because Portia almost really said it with like a love,
- 10:47Speaker 2: with like a big sister. Hey, I like you, but
- 10:51Speaker 2: you're acting like a jerk. And I, to me, that
- 10:54Speaker 2: scene was absolute chef's kiss. Yeah.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And she heard it and she was like, I didn't
- 10:58Speaker 1: know you all felt that way.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Right.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm going to change. Also, I've been up all night,
- 11:03Speaker 1: so I'm exhausted.
- 11:06Speaker 2: And she's been very trunk and very horse and very,
- 11:11Speaker 2: you know, but to me, that is what being a
- 11:15Speaker 2: true friend means. Sometimes we have to collect and gather
- 11:17Speaker 2: our people. Sometimes we do have to say, Hey, you're
- 11:21Speaker 2: not a bad person. Um, but these traits and tendencies
- 11:25Speaker 2: are really driving us all wild. And I think you
- 11:27Speaker 2: need to look at that. It was just literal perfection. Yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Were all just pretending like Luann didn't go through that
- 11:34Speaker 1: whole journey of going to AA and saying she was
- 11:37Speaker 1: sober and creating a non-alcoholic wine and Her daughter also
- 11:41Speaker 1: got sober and they were doing it together. We're pretending
- 11:44Speaker 1: none of that happened, I guess.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Mary Payne, I could not wait to talk to you
- 11:47Speaker 2: about this because I know how you feel on this topic.
- 11:50Speaker 2: And I was like, we are going to rage on
- 11:52Speaker 2: this for a while because I completely agree. So it's like, okay,
- 11:56Speaker 2: so Luann was sober, all those things you just said,
- 12:00Speaker 2: and now she's just drunk and drunk. Through what I
- 12:06Speaker 2: would call, you know how I talk about king babies
- 12:09Speaker 2: and the king baby tantrum? Well, Luann, that was a
- 12:13Speaker 2: great example of a queen baby tantrum. Someone who is
- 12:17Speaker 2: engaging in excessive alcohol use, who knows that it's an
- 12:20Speaker 2: issue for them, but they're doing it anyway. And the
- 12:24Speaker 2: reason why all these terrible behaviors are coming out is
- 12:28Speaker 2: because alcohol is not good for her. And she just
- 12:30Speaker 2: wants us all to pretend like we don't know that.
- 12:34Speaker 1: How could we pretend we don't know that? Like we
- 12:36Speaker 1: saw her get arrested. We saw her go to, I've
- 12:39Speaker 1: been to jail. I've been to rehab. You know, she's
- 12:41Speaker 1: done all the things. And then she was like, I've
- 12:43Speaker 1: decided I can drink a little. And then she came
- 12:44Speaker 1: back around again and said, I decided that no, I
- 12:47Speaker 1: had to remember she had that incident with Bethany.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 1: And she stopped drinking after that. But now she's like,
- 12:54Speaker 1: don't look over here. Look over here. Look at the
- 12:56Speaker 1: shiny thing. I could sing.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Which she sounded horror. She sounded like crap because she's drinking.
- 13:02Speaker 2: You can tell she's got some reflux going on. She's
- 13:05Speaker 2: partying too much. She's not sleeping enough. You can hear
- 13:07Speaker 2: it in her voice.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 13:10Speaker 2: That one of the most wild things about this is
- 13:14Speaker 2: just how no one called that out. I mean, Luann
- 13:17Speaker 2: wore for the finale party, her own mugshot for Christ's sake.
- 13:22Speaker 2: And now we're just going to, completely ignore the fact
- 13:25Speaker 2: of what got you in that situation it's so it
- 13:30Speaker 2: got her in trouble with the law it got her
- 13:32Speaker 2: in trouble like she had to do all these things
- 13:34Speaker 2: and now you're acting like a jerk and your friends
- 13:37Speaker 2: don't want to be around you because when you drink
- 13:39Speaker 2: you act like she has the most inflated ego i
- 13:43Speaker 2: have ever seen and you know how i know it
- 13:47Speaker 2: was a queen baby tantrum and i could not wait
- 13:50Speaker 2: to mention this to you because you'll know exactly what
- 13:52Speaker 2: i mean you know, when people who are drunk or
- 13:55Speaker 2: like they're maybe like the next day they're still hung over,
- 13:59Speaker 2: but they're not in their wives mind and they repetitively
- 14:03Speaker 2: focus and repeat the same thing over and over and
- 14:07Speaker 2: over and over Luann. If I heard that Portia was
- 14:10Speaker 2: two hours late, one more time, two hours late. Can
- 14:13Speaker 2: you believe it? She wasn't talking to people. She was
- 14:16Speaker 2: just like, It was almost like the lights were on
- 14:20Speaker 2: in nobody's home and she's just saying the same things
- 14:23Speaker 2: to anyone who will listen. And because, of course, at
- 14:26Speaker 2: the end of the day, it wasn't about Portia being late.
- 14:28Speaker 2: It was about Luann feeling like she needs to be
- 14:31Speaker 2: the center of attention. And if she's not, she's going
- 14:34Speaker 2: to throw that queen baby tantrum. And that's what alcohol
- 14:36Speaker 2: will do to you, folks. I levitated.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I levitated. She'd missed it. She was two hours late.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I levitated. She missed it. I was levitating. Y'all know
- 14:45Speaker 1: how you see the social media posts like, what's in
- 14:47Speaker 1: your bag? Where's this girl going? What are you doing? Well,
- 14:50Speaker 1: let me tell you what's in my bag, okay? It's
- 14:51Speaker 1: very exciting. It's breath mints, my reading glasses, my wallet,
- 14:55Speaker 1: my keys, and my Thrive Cosmetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara,
- 15:00Speaker 1: my lip stain, and their Focus Eyeshadow Palette has a
- 15:03Speaker 1: mirror so you can check yourself before you wreck yourself. Like,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I can't tell you how many times I used that
- 15:08Speaker 1: mirror while we were in New York. And lately, I'm
- 15:10Speaker 1: just super into Thrive's Lasting Mark Lip Defining Stain. That's
- 15:15Speaker 1: also a great thing to have in your bag because
- 15:16Speaker 1: you can use it all day. I'm like lining my
- 15:19Speaker 1: lips with that stuff as much as Lisa Barlow is, okay?
- 15:21Speaker 1: But sometimes really a lip stain will dry your lips out.
- 15:24Speaker 1: But this one is hydrating and kind of feels like
- 15:26Speaker 1: your bare lips instead of being, ew, like a dry lip.
- 15:30Speaker 1: So for me, I can throw on Thrive's mascara and
- 15:33Speaker 1: this lip stain and be ready to go out into
- 15:35Speaker 1: the world for the entire day. That's all I need.
- 15:37Speaker 1: And did you know, I'm sure you did, for every
- 15:40Speaker 1: product purchased, Thrive Cosmetics donates products and funds to help
- 15:43Speaker 1: communities thrive. Over $ 185 million in product and cash donations

- 16:35Speaker 1: and she came in, she goes, I'm not even in
- 16:37Speaker 1: the room and I've heard her say it six times.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I go, she said it 20 times. She was like,
- 16:42Speaker 1: this woman is an icon. I go, or not. Okay.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I want to talk about Salt Lake City. Okay.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:51Speaker 1: How, what were your thoughts on how they handled Mary's
- 16:55Speaker 1: son's death? I thought it was fascinating that they gave
- 16:59Speaker 1: us her and cousin Joe, who I guess now is
- 17:01Speaker 1: just a cast member, cousin Joe in the kitchen. And
- 17:05Speaker 1: then Robert Jr. just got out of jail.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:08Speaker 1: We're so happy he's back, dah, dah, dah, dah. And
- 17:10Speaker 1: then two weeks later, you know, he had passed. What
- 17:15Speaker 1: did you think about that? Because they were obviously started
- 17:17Speaker 1: to film the show and he had just gotten out.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:20Speaker 1: And then obviously they took cameras down from her because
- 17:22Speaker 1: he passed away.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:23Speaker 1: So that's how they handled it.
- 17:26Speaker 2: So for me as a viewer, it was so surreal.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Because to see him get home from jail and then
- 17:35Speaker 2: to hear Mary say, He's sober. May it stay that way.
- 17:39Speaker 2: It just, um, so for, and personally, when I talked
- 17:44Speaker 2: about it on my own podcast, I literally had to
- 17:46Speaker 2: stop because I just could not stop sobbing. I was like, Brady,
- 17:50Speaker 2: edit this out. I just can't stop. It's not funny,
- 17:53Speaker 2: but it was just like watching these children who have
- 17:58Speaker 2: been put on TV and which again, this was talked
- 18:03Speaker 2: about on Ultimate Girls Trip 2, right? People made decisions
- 18:06Speaker 2: that impacted their children. And so on the one hand,
- 18:11Speaker 2: I felt that it was handled well, as well as
- 18:15Speaker 2: anyone could handle something like this. Between production and the cast,
- 18:19Speaker 2: I think they really gave They did a great job
- 18:22Speaker 2: of giving us the information, but also keeping those certain
- 18:25Speaker 2: things private, like his service. I'm glad that was not televised.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I feel like that. I was very worried about that.
- 18:33Speaker 2: So I feel that Mary and the network there, they
- 18:36Speaker 2: navigated it really well. But what bothered me is that
- 18:41Speaker 2: we're starting off the season this way. And you would
- 18:46Speaker 2: think that the death of this woman's only child would
- 18:51Speaker 2: serve as some sort of check for the other women
- 18:55Speaker 2: to understand that life is more than just stupid arguments.
- 19:00Speaker 2: So for me, it was like, watching this primed the
- 19:05Speaker 2: season really well, but then the ladies just completely took
- 19:09Speaker 2: all of that and just were like, well, let's just
- 19:13Speaker 2: go on and argue about the same dumb stuff. And
- 19:16Speaker 2: for me, that felt really icky. I'm going to be honest.
- 19:21Speaker 2: It felt icky because it's like, y'all were coming together
- 19:25Speaker 2: for her and for each other. And now you're arguing
- 19:28Speaker 2: about things that don't matter. Like what happened to that perspective,
- 19:32Speaker 2: to that awareness, to that, you know what I mean?
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yeah. But then again, we are still doing a housewife show, right?
- 19:40Speaker 1: So we can only talk about it for half of
- 19:42Speaker 1: one episode and then we got to move on. Hopefully when,
- 19:45Speaker 1: Mary is around everybody together, at the very least, maybe
- 19:50Speaker 1: they can be respectful. I liked how they tried to
- 19:53Speaker 1: gather at Angie's and say, today's not about our differences,
- 19:56Speaker 1: we're gathering. But it lasted, again, one hour or 20 minutes,
- 20:01Speaker 1: however long it was actually in real time. But Whitney's like,
- 20:05Speaker 1: we have to talk about my healing journey because I'm
- 20:07Speaker 1: healing because I was using alcohol as a crutch and
- 20:10Speaker 1: I was saying terrible things. And so now I'm healing.
- 20:12Speaker 1: And they're like, a girl, we do not want to
- 20:15Speaker 1: hear about your healing journey anymore. Right.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Her healing journey.
- 20:19Speaker 1: We're done with your healing.
- 20:21Speaker 2: She's healing her fillings.
- 20:22Speaker 1: She's healing and she's filling.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. You know, it's just, again, I think Salt
- 20:30Speaker 2: Lake has this dynamic that it's like okay you argue
- 20:35Speaker 2: you fight yes it's housewives but where is the sisterhood
- 20:37Speaker 2: where is the loyalty um where is the sense of
- 20:41Speaker 2: perspective i suppose but i did appreciate that they all
- 20:46Speaker 2: tried to get together i really have been i'm gonna
- 20:49Speaker 2: say you know mary wasn't always i wasn't always her
- 20:52Speaker 2: biggest fan as you know but seeing her try to
- 20:57Speaker 2: share her experience, strength and hope with the world. I
- 21:00Speaker 2: feel that was really special. She didn't have to do that.
- 21:03Speaker 2: And she is. And I think that'll help people. But yeah,
- 21:07Speaker 2: it just frames the rest of the drama. This season
- 21:09Speaker 2: is like, who gives a shit about, you know, this
- 21:13Speaker 2: dress or who's wearing what? Like Robert died. Yeah. I've
- 21:18Speaker 2: also been in the grief weeds myself. So that also
- 21:21Speaker 2: may be a personal thing. thing because we do we
- 21:23Speaker 2: still have to have housewives being fun and kooky and
- 21:26Speaker 2: it's if it were healthy it wouldn't be housewives.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Yeah well amen um so all right we've got Angie's
- 21:34Speaker 1: uh marriage is falling apart um I don't like to
- 21:39Speaker 1: see this because I you know just like we don't
- 21:44Speaker 1: know a lot about their marriage or whatever just that
- 21:46Speaker 1: they've been together for a very long time they run
- 21:48Speaker 1: successful businesses they have this one daughter that they're very
- 21:50Speaker 1: focused on And I can't do anything about it. It's
- 21:55Speaker 1: none of my business. But I don't like it. I
- 21:57Speaker 1: kind of thought they seemed pretty solid. And maybe that's
- 22:00Speaker 1: because I feel like Angie seems to be kind of
- 22:02Speaker 1: a solid person. Maybe that's why I assumed it. But
- 22:06Speaker 1: she's just like, we haven't been living as a married
- 22:08Speaker 1: couple for a long time.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, my take on that, when I heard
- 22:13Speaker 2: her explain, I think I got a lot of context
- 22:16Speaker 2: when she said her and Sean got married when she
- 22:19Speaker 2: was young. I forget the exact age. I want to
- 22:22Speaker 2: say 22, maybe.
- 22:23Speaker 1: That is young.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Now, she's Greek Orthodox, right? She is not a member
- 22:30Speaker 2: of the Mormon community. However, a lot of organized religions
- 22:34Speaker 2: have patriarchal values where the man is the head of
- 22:37Speaker 2: the household, the woman is to keep the home, very
- 22:41Speaker 2: patriarchal roles. And Greek Orthodox, depending on how you practice,
- 22:45Speaker 2: can hold those values. So I wonder if a part
- 22:49Speaker 2: of Angie, she was young and she was taught that
- 22:52Speaker 2: the man is the head of the household. She said,
- 22:54Speaker 2: I would go along to get along. And I think
- 22:57Speaker 2: a lot of women, middle-aged women resonated with this because,
- 23:01Speaker 2: you know, as someone who I'm, uh, about to be 46,
- 23:05Speaker 2: I think women, when we're young, we will do a
- 23:08Speaker 2: lot to get love, right. To feel a sense of, um,
- 23:14Speaker 2: importance or to feel like we're being purposeful and around
- 23:18Speaker 2: middle age, I think women are look around and they're
- 23:21Speaker 2: taking care of everyone but themselves and they're thinking, well,
- 23:23Speaker 2: what about me?
- 23:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:24Speaker 2: And so I think for Angie, they had a solid
- 23:27Speaker 2: relationship as long as she did what he wanted to do.
- 23:30Speaker 2: And as long as she went along to get along
- 23:33Speaker 2: and the second that she stopped doing that, that caused problems.
- 23:37Speaker 2: And so I think while it's sad, I really do
- 23:42Speaker 2: always tell people on my podcast that I think it's
- 23:45Speaker 2: important if a relationship no longer serves you and you're
- 23:49Speaker 2: kind of selling your soul or abandoning yourself to stay
- 23:53Speaker 2: in it, that's not good either. So divorce, it's always
- 23:57Speaker 2: hard initially, but at the end of the day, kids
- 23:59Speaker 2: will fare better in separate but happier households. And I
- 24:03Speaker 2: hope that Angie is really able to find out who
- 24:06Speaker 2: is Angie because I don't think she knows.
- 24:09Speaker 1: All these are great points that I had not thought about,
- 24:11Speaker 1: I guess.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Cause they've been doing all these things together, but she's
- 24:15Speaker 1: never really been off on her own. Right. She, you know,
- 24:19Speaker 1: she started all these businesses and everything with Sean. That's
- 24:24Speaker 1: very interesting. And I feel like she may have also said,
- 24:27Speaker 1: and I could have made this up and conflated it
- 24:29Speaker 1: with my Plathville storyline, but I feel like she also
- 24:32Speaker 1: said something about they had differences of values.
- 24:35Speaker 2: And, Yes, she did. And I posted about this on
- 24:39Speaker 2: Instagram and I got a lot of hate for it.
- 24:41Speaker 1: What does it mean?
- 24:43Speaker 2: My interpretation is that Sean maybe was a part of MAGA. Oh.
- 24:53Speaker 2: So my interpretation is that... And again, I did a
- 24:57Speaker 2: little research. So during... A couple of years ago, Angie
- 25:00Speaker 2: had to defend Sean because he was found to be
- 25:02Speaker 2: following MAGA influencers on social media.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:06Speaker 2: And, um, and again, this is not about politics. MAGA
- 25:10Speaker 2: is a political cult. And so this is not, this
- 25:12Speaker 2: is not Democrat versus Republican.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I hear you.
- 25:15Speaker 2: This is a real problem. Okay. And so when she
- 25:18Speaker 2: said that they have different views and ideologies, I took
- 25:21Speaker 2: it to mean Angie, we know as an ally, fierce,
- 25:24Speaker 2: fierce ally. And I took it to mean that her
- 25:27Speaker 2: husband has some of these ideologies that are problematic for
- 25:32Speaker 2: her and a lot of other folks. And this is
- 25:36Speaker 2: not the only marriage. I think that's one of the
- 25:39Speaker 2: very interesting things that this administration has created for folks
- 25:43Speaker 2: is that for the first time, married couples are like, well,
- 25:47Speaker 2: if you don't believe in basic human rights, I don't
- 25:50Speaker 2: know that I can, like, who did I marry?
- 25:53Speaker 1: I have a friend that literally threatened her husband with
- 25:55Speaker 1: divorce if he did not sit down with their children
- 25:59Speaker 1: to explain that he was wrong for his vote and why.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:03Speaker 1: Because she found out who he voted for and was like,
- 26:06Speaker 1: this is not what we're teaching our children. And she
- 26:09Speaker 1: made him sit down and have a conversation. I mean,
- 26:12Speaker 1: it's funny the way she told the story. Probably not
- 26:15Speaker 1: funny for him. But she was like, we've been married
- 26:18Speaker 1: 25 years and this is the end of the road.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Right. And so I imagine... if she's like a fierce
- 26:24Speaker 2: ally and Sean is not, that's going to create a
- 26:28Speaker 2: huge divide in addition to the other things that I.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Which is weird because they work in the beauty industry, right?
- 26:37Speaker 2: Okay, here's what I'm going to say.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 26:38Speaker 2: A lot of, boy, a lot of men have internalized homophobia.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yes.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I think due to societal... All these things in society,
- 26:51Speaker 2: especially like when we were growing up, the worst thing,
- 26:54Speaker 2: the worst insult could be that you were gay, which
- 26:56Speaker 2: is absolutely horrifying. And so I think that unfortunately, if
- 27:00Speaker 2: men were just taught, A, you can feel your feelings
- 27:03Speaker 2: because men have feelings too. Their mental health matters. And
- 27:07Speaker 2: it's okay to be who you are. I think a
- 27:09Speaker 2: lot of what we see in society wouldn't be as
- 27:12Speaker 2: bad as it is if we just encourage men to
- 27:16Speaker 2: be humans. Yeah. who love who they are and are
- 27:20Speaker 2: free to be who they are. But that's, that's my
- 27:23Speaker 2: thought on that.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Okay. Do you have thoughts on Lisa Barlow and her
- 27:27Speaker 1: lip liner? You want to hear my thought?
- 27:31Speaker 2: Yes, I do.
- 27:32Speaker 1: My thought is she's coming out as a, as a, uh,
- 27:37Speaker 1: that's a hashtag ad. She's coming out where this is
- 27:39Speaker 1: going to be some sort of brand deal. Like she
- 27:42Speaker 1: got with the Cara sauce, you know, I think it's
- 27:45Speaker 1: going to be like, everybody loves my hair. Cause I
- 27:46Speaker 1: use the Cara sauce. I think it's going to be
- 27:49Speaker 1: because my lips are iconic. So that's why I had
- 27:51Speaker 1: my Mac lip liner. I love my Mac lip liner.
- 27:55Speaker 2: You know, Mary Payne, I do tend to agree with
- 27:58Speaker 2: that because I think that everything Lisa does is for
- 28:02Speaker 2: to get her something.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yes.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Get her aligned to get her self-promotion. But I also
- 28:10Speaker 2: do think a little bit of it might be someone
- 28:13Speaker 2: said it on the show, like not a real tick
- 28:16Speaker 2: in terms of You know, like with with it was
- 28:20Speaker 2: in psychology, people do have little ticks and things. But
- 28:24Speaker 2: to me, this is like I call it her emotional
- 28:28Speaker 2: support lip liner.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Yes.
- 28:30Speaker 2: So I think it's a little bit of maybe a
- 28:33Speaker 2: couple of different things. Emotional support lip liner. Plus, if
- 28:37Speaker 2: she can get herself a little deal, that'd be great, too.
- 28:40Speaker 2: And I also think it serves as a great distraction
- 28:44Speaker 2: because she knows her cast. And she knows that at
- 28:49Speaker 2: that dinner, she was doing it for so long that
- 28:51Speaker 2: someone was going to flip and be like, Lisa, what
- 28:54Speaker 2: are you doing?
- 28:54Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 28:55Speaker 2: I think she did it for all those reasons. So attention,
- 29:00Speaker 2: emotional support, and to try to bolster her street cred.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I think that she's like, well, they're going to fight.
- 29:07Speaker 1: So this scene will definitely be in the show.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Right.
- 29:11Speaker 1: So I'm just going to line my lips the whole
- 29:13Speaker 1: time because eventually they'll have to cut to me. And
- 29:16Speaker 1: then I'll get a deal. I thought it was the
- 29:18Speaker 1: craziest thing. Now, I didn't really understand the thing at
- 29:21Speaker 1: that dinner. Like, Whitney's friends with Kwai, but then Kwai's
- 29:24Speaker 1: mind at her because she told the story about the toothbrush.
- 29:26Speaker 1: But then Kwai said she does like Meredith, but then
- 29:30Speaker 1: she's like, you talk so much shit about Meredith all
- 29:33Speaker 1: the time. I didn't understand any of that because I
- 29:36Speaker 1: think I just don't know quite enough to know what's
- 29:40Speaker 1: what with her yet. New people always just really take
- 29:43Speaker 1: me a long time.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Well, and it does. And here's why in your defense,
- 29:47Speaker 2: because when you have a brand new housewife to a
- 29:51Speaker 2: show that is established, it changes the entire dynamic of
- 29:55Speaker 2: the group. And so sometimes it is really hard to
- 29:59Speaker 2: get a finger on that. But what's interesting is Whitney,
- 30:03Speaker 2: I saw on social media regarding that scene that you're
- 30:06Speaker 2: talking about, she made some sort of a statement that
- 30:10Speaker 2: I thought I was protecting people, but now trust me,
- 30:14Speaker 2: I am no longer going to do that, which who
- 30:17Speaker 2: knows if that's authentic or real in any way. But
- 30:23Speaker 2: I think that Whitney, it's like, In real life, this
- 30:28Speaker 2: is supposed to be your best friend, but she has
- 30:30Speaker 2: such an allegiance to this cast that it really shows
- 30:35Speaker 2: you how cutthroat housewives can be. And there's no room
- 30:38Speaker 2: for like real friendships, if I'm being honest. I mean,
- 30:42Speaker 2: some franchises do it better than others. But like, I
- 30:46Speaker 2: think Whitney has to choose. Like, do you want to
- 30:48Speaker 2: be friends with Kwai or are you going to be
- 30:50Speaker 2: loyal to Heather and doing dirty work to make your
- 30:54Speaker 2: quote unquote season good? Like, which is it? You can't
- 30:57Speaker 2: have both.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to have to see more of Kwai
- 31:00Speaker 1: because the jury's out. I didn't like how she was
- 31:04Speaker 1: so proud that Lisa Barlow let her taste be the
- 31:07Speaker 1: tequila first. I was like, I don't think it's a flex.
- 31:12Speaker 1: I do hope we eventually get to see that finished house.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Yes. We love to see a finished house on the house. Yeah.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Like Heather, you built that house. We got to see
- 31:22Speaker 1: it all the way through.
- 31:23Speaker 2: That's exactly right. But you know, here's the thing I'll
- 31:25Speaker 2: say about Kwai. And full disclosure, I love, I'm a
- 31:28Speaker 2: very outspoken woman. I'm very direct. So I tend to
- 31:31Speaker 2: like women like that. I think what I love about
- 31:35Speaker 2: her is that When Angie did the toothbrush prank, which
- 31:39Speaker 2: was just mean, and I think that.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yeah, stupid.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Angie's going through stuff in her personal life, and
- 31:47Speaker 2: I think she's kind of projecting that and putting that
- 31:50Speaker 2: on other people. You know, misery loves company, that sort
- 31:53Speaker 2: of saying. But I like how Kwai handled it. Now,
- 31:57Speaker 2: do I love that she told Bronwyn and someone else
- 32:01Speaker 2: to shut up? I mean... A little. I don't know.
- 32:07Speaker 2: There's just something about her that I may be totally like,
- 32:12Speaker 2: I may eat my words. And next time I'm back
- 32:14Speaker 2: and we're talking about this, I could be like, okay,
- 32:16Speaker 2: so yeah, we don't love Kwai. But for now, I
- 32:19Speaker 2: just love that she owned it. She didn't lie. She
- 32:21Speaker 2: was like, yes, this happened. I talked to my husband
- 32:23Speaker 2: about it. We joke about it all the time. And
- 32:26Speaker 2: you're not going to embarrass me. I love that she
- 32:28Speaker 2: did that.
- 32:29Speaker 1: She's like, here's my crazy. I'm going to put it
- 32:31Speaker 1: on the table.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:33Speaker 2: I feel like that's refreshing, especially in the world of
- 32:36Speaker 2: housewives where it's about jockeying for position and all this
- 32:40Speaker 2: other stuff. She just seems like, all right, this is
- 32:42Speaker 2: what we're going to get with her.
- 32:44Speaker 1: I didn't think it was the worst story I'd ever
- 32:45Speaker 1: heard in my life either. I was like, okay. But
- 32:48Speaker 1: I did love how Angie was like, you know, Mary,
- 32:50Speaker 1: when you go to a hotel, the ladies will stick
- 32:54Speaker 1: a toothbrush up their butt if you don't leave them
- 32:55Speaker 1: a good tip. I was like, wait, what? I don't
- 32:59Speaker 1: think the cleaning staff at a hotel is walking around
- 33:01Speaker 1: sticking toothbrushes up their asses.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Do we think they have time to do that, by
- 33:06Speaker 2: the way?
- 33:06Speaker 1: Do they want your dirty toothbrush up their butt? I
- 33:10Speaker 1: don't think so. Yeah.
- 33:10Speaker 2: What? Angie really talks about things like she knows them
- 33:16Speaker 2: to be true. When I think it comes from paranoia
- 33:20Speaker 2: and just her being drama- So I noticed that about Angie.
- 33:25Speaker 2: You don't get the 100% fact because like, sure. Have
- 33:29Speaker 2: you heard about maybe you don't leave someone in a
- 33:31Speaker 2: tip or trash or, you know, something happening? Fine. Yeah.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Maybe the 1%, 0.5%. This is not like a rampant
- 33:39Speaker 2: problem at hotels.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Now, Mary Cosby, every time she goes to a hotel,
- 33:46Speaker 1: she's going to have like a stack of like one
- 33:47Speaker 1: time use toothbrushes and she's never going to have her. No,
- 33:50Speaker 1: that's that's you see Mary's like, please, Cousin Joe, order
- 33:55Speaker 1: me 400 disposable toothbrushes.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Yes.
- 33:57Speaker 1: I'm only going to use them once.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:01Speaker 1: All right, ladies, let's talk and be honest here. A
- 34:03Speaker 1: lot of us are ladies of a certain age, and
- 34:07Speaker 1: we are so busy. I was just talking to a
- 34:10Speaker 1: good friend of mine this weekend about this. We're so busy.
- 34:13Speaker 1: We have no time to think about anything, and we're
- 34:16Speaker 1: all stressed for some reason or another. My stress is
- 34:18Speaker 1: not your stress. Your stress is not my stress. Everybody's
- 34:21Speaker 1: got something going on. And that's the idea behind Dame's
- 34:24Speaker 1: Desire Gummies. Low desire usually isn't a you problem. It's
- 34:30Speaker 1: a stress problem. So let's talk about it, okay? Desire
- 34:33Speaker 1: isn't just physical. It's in your head. It's tangled up
- 34:36Speaker 1: with stress, mood, and how much you're carrying in your
- 34:38Speaker 1: daily life. And Dame gets it. They get it. Their
- 34:41Speaker 1: Desire Gummies are a daily supplement that works on the
- 34:44Speaker 1: stress and the mood side of the equation. And that's
- 34:47Speaker 1: what I love. The gummies were developed with an OBGYN
- 34:50Speaker 1: and clinically studied as a complete formula. Most women in
- 34:54Speaker 1: the study noticed a difference within two weeks and 85%
- 34:58Speaker 1: reported increased desire by week four. Because it's a daily thing,
- 35:01Speaker 1: you have to take it daily. Dame makes it easy.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Subscribe and save 15% on every order. They're delivered every
- 35:07Speaker 1: 20 days. You don't miss out. And your code stacks
- 35:11Speaker 1: on top of that 15% off your subscribe and save.
- 35:15Speaker 1: You need to subscribe because it's a daily thing, like
- 35:17Speaker 1: I said, and you don't want to run out. But
- 35:18Speaker 1: here's the science-y thing. Dame didn't just cite ingredient research.
- 35:22Speaker 1: They studied the actual gummy on real women and 85%
- 35:27Speaker 1: reported increased desire in four weeks. So they did this
- 35:30Speaker 1: four-week observational study run by a third-party lab with 53
- 35:34Speaker 1: women aged 24 to 52 who reported low desire and
- 35:38Speaker 1: stressful lifestyles. So the participants reported improvement, and they said
- 35:42Speaker 1: they had increased sexual desire by 85%, guys, reduced stress
- 35:47Speaker 1: and anxiety by 87%, and improved mood by 93%. My God,
- 35:50Speaker 1: if I could improve my mood by 93%, I mean,
- 35:52Speaker 1: everybody wins, right? So if you want to see for
- 35:59Speaker 1: yourself and get 15% off these gummies, you're going to
- 36:02Speaker 1: go to dame.com and use code PINKSHADE. But remember, you
- 36:06Speaker 1: can also subscribe with code PINKSHADE and the discount stacks.
- 36:10Speaker 1: 15% off with the code plus 15% off every subscription order.
- 36:15Speaker 1: That is dame.com, code PINKSHADE for 15% off the desire gummies. Okay,
- 36:25Speaker 1: let's talk about Roni before we go into Potomac. So guys,
- 36:31Speaker 1: as you guys know, we record this on Wednesdays. So
- 36:34Speaker 1: I know when you hear this, there may be a
- 36:37Speaker 1: new episode of Salt Lake we haven't seen it yet.
- 36:39Speaker 1: But Roni, I love Carole Rideswell and nobody can tell
- 36:44Speaker 1: me any different. I loved her before and I love
- 36:46Speaker 1: her now. I loved her book. I love her.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Can I tell you, Mary Payne, I totally agree. I
- 36:51Speaker 2: love Carole. I love same thing. I loved her when
- 36:55Speaker 2: she was on initially. I love her on this time.
- 36:58Speaker 2: I understand this recent episode of Roni. It was a
- 37:01Speaker 2: little darker because we got into, you know, the Ghislaine
- 37:04Speaker 2: Maxwell and the Epstein files. But I appreciate Carol's directness.
- 37:11Speaker 2: You know, she explained herself. She didn't get defensive. And I,
- 37:16Speaker 2: you know, I know a lot of people feel different
- 37:18Speaker 2: things about Carol, but I just think she's just pretty
- 37:20Speaker 2: bad ass. her life has been tragedy that is for
- 37:24Speaker 2: pop culture lovers to feast on. And she still came
- 37:28Speaker 2: back and she's still talking about things and not getting defensive.
- 37:32Speaker 2: I mean, she did get a little bit defensive when
- 37:34Speaker 2: she said this, I didn't like, she said in a
- 37:37Speaker 2: confessional that Psy has like a colorful past and it's like, Carol, girl,
- 37:42Speaker 2: now we're not going to do that because I don't
- 37:44Speaker 2: know what's more colorful than being friends with Ghislaine Maxwell.
- 37:49Speaker 2: She reached a little there and I didn't love it.
- 37:52Speaker 2: But otherwise, yeah, I'm a Carol fan.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Well, she was clapping back because I kind of wouldn't
- 37:56Speaker 1: let her talk, you know?
- 37:57Speaker 2: Yeah. So I came in real hot.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Yeah, she came in real hot. And I can understand.
- 38:02Speaker 1: I mean, we all have, you know, trigger buttons around
- 38:06Speaker 1: this whole Epstein file situation. And yet we would like
- 38:09Speaker 1: for all those people to be arrested and everything we
- 38:12Speaker 1: could talk about till we're blue in the face. So
- 38:14Speaker 1: I like how Carol was like, so you think I
- 38:17Speaker 1: was part of an international sex trafficking ring? I think
- 38:20Speaker 1: she's trying to be like, so that's what you're trying
- 38:22Speaker 1: to say. And if not, why don't you listen to
- 38:24Speaker 1: my feelings on it? And that I knew this woman tangentially, socially. Yes,
- 38:30Speaker 1: I would. We would email back and forth. That was
- 38:32Speaker 1: the day, you know, and sure, you can release it all.
- 38:34Speaker 1: She's like, I mean, yeah, I knew her. But like
- 38:37Speaker 1: anything with somebody that you're not good friends with, we
- 38:40Speaker 1: sort of drifted apart. And she goes, if you lined
- 38:42Speaker 1: up 100 socialites, she would never be the one that
- 38:45Speaker 1: I would pick out that I thought was a part
- 38:47Speaker 1: of something like this, which is interesting, I thought. It is.
- 38:51Speaker 2: And it speaks to what I posted about on Instagram
- 38:54Speaker 2: is that, you know, we see a lot of this
- 38:58Speaker 2: on reality TV people. And I'll give Jax as an example, right?
- 39:02Speaker 2: People who we see who have real, like some people
- 39:06Speaker 2: are good at hiding their pathology and some people are not,
- 39:10Speaker 2: but the predators, we're talking about people who have real psychopathology.
- 39:15Speaker 2: So what I'm talking about is lack of empathy, some
- 39:18Speaker 2: antisocial personality traits, things like that, their mask and they,
- 39:24Speaker 2: it's called psychological camouflage. So predators are so good at
- 39:28Speaker 2: psychological camouflage. by behaving, uh, cosplaying humans that they can fool.
- 39:36Speaker 2: You can be smart. You can be well-read. You can
- 39:38Speaker 2: be intelligent, educated, have a good sense of people and
- 39:42Speaker 2: still be fooled because predators are better at being predators
- 39:46Speaker 2: than then we are at A, sussing it out, and B,
- 39:50Speaker 2: sometimes protecting ourselves. That is their literal psychological skill. So
- 39:56Speaker 2: I think that is where people need to understand from
- 39:59Speaker 2: Carol's perspective. I mean, how many of us have been
- 40:04Speaker 2: duped in some way, shape, or form by someone who
- 40:06Speaker 2: we thought we knew, who we thought, you know? And
- 40:10Speaker 2: so I think I understand Sai's energy, but I think
- 40:15Speaker 2: to your point, you're right, that she was elevated because
- 40:18Speaker 2: this is a trigger point for so many women, for
- 40:21Speaker 2: all the Jane Does, for all the survivors, for the
- 40:24Speaker 2: women who are realizing that dehumanization and abuse of women
- 40:29Speaker 2: is woven into the fabric of this country. And that's
- 40:32Speaker 2: a very hard thing to realize. So I understand the
- 40:37Speaker 2: elevation around it, but to say to someone, you knew
- 40:42Speaker 2: more than I think you're saying you do when Carol's
- 40:45Speaker 2: feeling bad about, wow, how didn't I see this? Or gosh,
- 40:50Speaker 2: now I'm tied to this person. You know, think about
- 40:53Speaker 2: how Carol feels about that. So I see all sides
- 40:56Speaker 2: of it, but I definitely think Cy's energy is hot
- 41:00Speaker 2: because she's on the heels of this public separation and
- 41:05Speaker 2: divorce and it's coming out sideways, as we would say.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, I can agree with all that. I think
- 41:13Speaker 1: it's misplaced anger, but I think Carol really handles herself well.
- 41:20Speaker 1: She's very well spoken.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yes.
- 41:22Speaker 1: But I got to say, the episode where they were
- 41:25Speaker 1: sitting around, where the news comes out that they tell
- 41:28Speaker 1: Erin that they joked around about her burnt house being
- 41:33Speaker 1: insurance fraud, and then them talking about Erica's island home
- 41:39Speaker 1: being a dump. I was like, this, this show is back.
- 41:44Speaker 1: This is so good. When they were like, when Aaron's like,
- 41:49Speaker 1: so what you're telling me is my friends were sitting
- 41:51Speaker 1: around joking that I committed insurance fraud on television. When
- 41:56Speaker 1: we know like Wendy and her husband are possibly allegedly
- 42:01Speaker 1: going to jail for it. Like you're not going to
- 42:03Speaker 1: get on television and joke about me burning my home
- 42:07Speaker 1: down for the insurance money.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Well, it was a flood.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Oh, a flood.
- 42:12Speaker 2: A flood of blood. Flooded. Yes. Yes. But your point
- 42:15Speaker 2: still stands. And I agree. That's a dangerous allegation to
- 42:19Speaker 2: make on national television for sure. And I understand why
- 42:24Speaker 2: Erin was hurt about that. But otherwise, what Psy said
- 42:29Speaker 2: to Erin this most recent episode.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Well, first of all, she definitely had to have planned that.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Oh, my God. If she didn't.
- 42:39Speaker 1: She definitely had to have planned that line because I
- 42:41Speaker 1: was like, that doesn't just come to the top of
- 42:43Speaker 1: your head.
- 42:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 42:46Speaker 1: I will not repeat it. It was disgusting.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah, it was. I actually died. I was like,
- 42:54Speaker 2: I laughed so hard I pulled something in my side.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Then Erin's stepping out of the pool and she steps
- 43:02Speaker 1: on a piece of glass, which is like the main
- 43:04Speaker 1: thing in the world you cannot have around a pool
- 43:06Speaker 1: is glass.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Sincerely, yeah.
- 43:08Speaker 1: And then she's like, and then your fucking shitty island,
- 43:11Speaker 1: your shitty house on your shitty island. I sipped on
- 43:14Speaker 1: a piece of glass. I mean, oh, I was glad
- 43:17Speaker 1: it was okay because it looked really bad at first.
- 43:19Speaker 2: Right.
- 43:19Speaker 1: But on Watch What Happens Live, Daisy was on. And
- 43:25Speaker 1: she said a good thing about the island was she
- 43:28Speaker 1: got skinny while she was there because all the food
- 43:30Speaker 1: was in Costco.
- 43:32Speaker 2: I saw that. And I'm like... This, here's the thing, Daisy,
- 43:37Speaker 2: you have one celebrity that you are in, you know,
- 43:43Speaker 2: in their world and, and this is how you act.
- 43:46Speaker 2: You think you're so special because you are Martha Stewart's
- 43:51Speaker 2: makeup person and you can call her and have her
- 43:53Speaker 2: on speed dial. So you think that you're just like
- 43:57Speaker 2: God's gift. And I'm like, girl, I, uh, Daisy is
- 44:02Speaker 2: not for me. I don't get it.
- 44:05Speaker 1: I mean, Daisy did joke on Watch What Happens Live
- 44:09Speaker 1: when she goes, I don't have an island. I don't
- 44:11Speaker 1: even have a kitchen island. I'm like, exactly.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Right. Who cares if.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Seven people own it or one person owns it? I
- 44:20Speaker 1: don't know anybody else that has an island that they
- 44:23Speaker 1: own with less than 600 people. I mean, what are
- 44:27Speaker 1: you talking about? What are you talking about?
- 44:29Speaker 2: You're right. That is the greatest thing about housewives. It's like,
- 44:33Speaker 2: we're back when we're arguing about who owns what part
- 44:37Speaker 2: of this island. Like they wanted the breakdown, like one seventh, one.
- 44:42Speaker 2: It's just so crazy. And, but did you also see
- 44:46Speaker 2: that Daisy said, oh, well, I didn't know I was
- 44:49Speaker 2: mic'd or it was like a hot mic moment because
- 44:52Speaker 2: I would have never said that to her face. But
- 44:54Speaker 2: here's the thing. And this is what I feel like
- 44:56Speaker 2: Daisy and Aaron are those two girls that they get
- 44:59Speaker 2: together and they're just mean. They're just mean and they're
- 45:02Speaker 2: gossipy because the way that they said that with their
- 45:06Speaker 2: whole chest, that like it was ugly Pier 1 furniture.
- 45:09Speaker 2: And I'm like, hey, how entitled and rude of a
- 45:13Speaker 2: person do you have to be to shit on an
- 45:17Speaker 2: island which none of us have? A, that's gorgeous. And B,
- 45:21Speaker 2: a house that is clearly amazing. Like I don't... I
- 45:24Speaker 2: don't like women who need to put down other women
- 45:27Speaker 2: to make themselves shine brighter. That bothers me. And that
- 45:30Speaker 2: is what I get from Daisy. But when Aaron stepped
- 45:33Speaker 2: on the glass, I was like, is Mosquito Island cursed?
- 45:37Speaker 2: It might be cursed.
- 45:38Speaker 1: She's like, I gotta go. Like I am done. I
- 45:40Speaker 1: am done. Meanwhile, I'm like, how do all these women
- 45:44Speaker 1: that are in their like late forties and fifties look
- 45:46Speaker 1: like this in bathing suits? But That's a sidebar.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:49Speaker 1: I just like, I can't. I'm like.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Same. I'm like, that's, they're all gorgeous. Erica's, all their bodies.
- 45:57Speaker 2: And I'm just like, you know what, Mazel? But how? Yeah. How? How?
- 46:02Speaker 1: How? Now, speaking of bodies. Okay. I did not think
- 46:06Speaker 1: it was cool. So, Sai was all mad. And she
- 46:08Speaker 1: was saying to Jessel, you don't even want to know
- 46:10Speaker 1: what she said about your husband. So, Jessel says, what
- 46:13Speaker 1: did she say about my husband? Like, what did she say?
- 46:16Speaker 1: And then Sai says, who is on the tear and
- 46:19Speaker 1: not letting it go, calls her makeup artist, who's like,
- 46:23Speaker 1: blur me. Do not put my face on the camera.
- 46:28Speaker 1: So he gets blurred and confirms that Aaron said to
- 46:33Speaker 1: Cy and Chris, the makeup artist, that they had seen
- 46:37Speaker 1: Povett hooking up with men at Equinox. And Jessel goes,
- 46:41Speaker 1: he doesn't work out. He has a dad bod. And
- 46:44Speaker 1: then she goes, and he doesn't belong to Equinox. I
- 46:49Speaker 1: think she thought he does belong to a gym, but
- 46:51Speaker 1: he doesn't belong to Equinox. But it did not need
- 46:55Speaker 1: to be said on camera.
- 46:57Speaker 2: No.
- 46:58Speaker 1: The very specific allegation she could have said, Erin said
- 47:03Speaker 1: to me and my makeup artist, and I'll call him
- 47:04Speaker 1: if you want to, she alleged that she had information
- 47:08Speaker 1: about Povitt sneaking around. She didn't have to say gay
- 47:11Speaker 1: sex in an Equinox bathroom.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Right. I totally agree. I think that while I understand
- 47:20Speaker 2: what's why Psy did, like Psy was so focused on
- 47:24Speaker 2: being right that I think she didn't completely understand or
- 47:30Speaker 2: just didn't care at how this would impact Jessel. Right.
- 47:34Speaker 2: And poor Pavit. I'm going to be honest. This man,
- 47:37Speaker 2: the stuff these women have been saying about this man
- 47:40Speaker 2: since the inception of the new Roni. Yeah. It's like
- 47:43Speaker 2: leave Pavit be. They have children together. And your size
- 47:50Speaker 2: desire to be right overrode Jessel's being deserving of privacy.
- 47:57Speaker 2: So I do. And when I posted on my Instagram
- 47:59Speaker 2: about that, a lot of people commented in my comments
- 48:02Speaker 2: the same thing. It was like, okay, so you're trying
- 48:05Speaker 2: to prove yourself right, but look what you just did.
- 48:08Speaker 2: And you just made this worse now for her, which
- 48:11Speaker 2: is not what a friend would do. Yeah.
- 48:14Speaker 1: She easily could just could have said, Erin said it
- 48:16Speaker 1: to Chris as well, and I can get Chris on
- 48:18Speaker 1: the phone, but, you know, Erin alleged that she has
- 48:21Speaker 1: information about Povitt cheating, and that's all she needed to say.
- 48:24Speaker 1: She didn't need to go the three extra steps. And,
- 48:27Speaker 1: you know, it seems to me that Jenna Lyons did
- 48:31Speaker 1: not say, Erin told me. It seems like Jenna Lyons said,
- 48:35Speaker 1: I heard it from somebody who may have heard it
- 48:36Speaker 1: from Erin, but I'm not totally sure. And then for
- 48:39Speaker 1: them all to go, we'd all been hearing that they
- 48:41Speaker 1: had problems.
- 48:42Speaker 2: Right.
- 48:43Speaker 1: You know, so I think Psy is just, in a
- 48:46Speaker 1: bad head space because of what she's going through and
- 48:49Speaker 1: sort of taking it out with that whole Jessel thing.
- 48:52Speaker 1: And I'm not a Jessel fan at all, but I
- 48:54Speaker 1: was like, that wasn't fair to Jessel.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Jessel to me is snobby. I'm not a fan of hers,
- 49:00Speaker 2: but she did deserve better than that. And I, I
- 49:04Speaker 2: think you're exactly right. She could have done that very differently.
- 49:08Speaker 2: And also I'm so sick of this being a storyline that,
- 49:12Speaker 2: of husbands being gay. Because remember what I said before
- 49:15Speaker 2: about like this toxic culture of like toxic masculinity. and,
- 49:21Speaker 2: you know, Haley, she's in like a lavender marriage. Everyone,
- 49:26Speaker 2: let everyone just do what they, their thing. And let's
- 49:30Speaker 2: stop weaponizing like gayness as number one, if that's a
- 49:35Speaker 2: terrible thing, or be trying to make this a constant
- 49:38Speaker 2: storyline of like, We're going to embarrass you because your
- 49:42Speaker 2: husband might be gay. It's just the whole thing feels
- 49:44Speaker 2: very icky, feels like there's some homophobia there. And yeah,
- 49:49Speaker 2: just don't like it.
- 49:50Speaker 1: I don't like it either. Well, okay. Speaking of husbands,
- 49:56Speaker 1: let's talk about the new season of Potomac. So Potomac,
- 50:00Speaker 1: I did not watch the full last season of Potomac.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I got kind of lost in the sauce with some
- 50:05Speaker 1: of the new people. And cause I was like, I
- 50:06Speaker 1: don't know her. I don't know her. But now that
- 50:09Speaker 1: Karen is back, not that I'm a giant Karen fan either,
- 50:12Speaker 1: but look at really cause Robin is back.
- 50:14Speaker 2: I love me some Robin.
- 50:16Speaker 1: I love Robin. So I'm like, all right, we get,
- 50:18Speaker 1: we're getting some of this main cast back. But first
- 50:21Speaker 1: we really open with Karen's marriage being on the rocks, which,
- 50:26Speaker 1: you know, we figured, you know, and this happens a lot.
- 50:28Speaker 1: People change. Um, When they get sober and sometimes the
- 50:33Speaker 1: marriage is not the same. And it could be from
- 50:36Speaker 1: the person who's sober is like, wow, what have I
- 50:38Speaker 1: been doing?
- 50:38Speaker 2: Yep.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Or it could be the spouse is like, I don't
- 50:41Speaker 1: like this new person.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Yep. And both happen all the time.
- 50:45Speaker 1: All the time. All the time. So Karen's marriage is
- 50:49Speaker 1: on the rocks. We don't see Ray. Now, okay.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 50:53Speaker 1: How do you feel about Karen being so specific? And
- 50:57Speaker 1: I believe you and I've talked about this before. So
- 51:00Speaker 1: specific that she wants you to understand she does not
- 51:04Speaker 1: have a problem with alcohol. When the reports and reports
- 51:09Speaker 1: and reports and reports are, she sits at the bar
- 51:12Speaker 1: and drinks all day. She calls us when she's drunk.
- 51:14Speaker 1: She got a DUI, her fourth one, fifth one, whatever.
- 51:19Speaker 1: These were all DUIs. all blew over the legal limit
- 51:23Speaker 1: for drinking, but she wants you really to hone in
- 51:26Speaker 1: on the fact that she has problem with prescription medication,
- 51:29Speaker 1: not alcohol.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Yeah. I couldn't wait to talk about this with you. Okay.
- 51:34Speaker 2: And I could talk about this for 17 hours. Okay.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Because it makes me so angry.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Why? Why is it so important that she makes sure
- 51:43Speaker 1: that we know that, which is not necessarily the truth?
- 51:46Speaker 2: Because she's in denial. She is in denial and she
- 51:51Speaker 2: is not ready to be rigorously honest with herself or others.
- 51:57Speaker 2: And so, um, which is insane because that denial can
- 52:04Speaker 2: and will be deadly at some point. I was really,
- 52:08Speaker 2: really hoping beyond all hope, because you know, we talked
- 52:11Speaker 2: a lot about this last year. I did a lot
- 52:13Speaker 2: of podcasts about Karen and why this is dangerous, but
- 52:16Speaker 2: she is, shows up, right, with her crystal and her
- 52:22Speaker 2: sage and her tea. She wears healing like a suit
- 52:28Speaker 2: of armor where it's just for looks on the outside,
- 52:31Speaker 2: but what's inside? What are you doing on the inside?
- 52:34Speaker 2: And I promise you, as someone who has worked with
- 52:37Speaker 2: addictions very closely for a lot of my career, Karen
- 52:42Speaker 2: cannot heal until she is willing to admit that verbalize
- 52:48Speaker 2: and recognize that alcohol is a problem. I'm not saying,
- 52:53Speaker 2: I don't know, Karen, I'm not saying it's her only
- 52:55Speaker 2: problem or that she has to say it's her only problem,
- 52:58Speaker 2: but it is ridiculous at this point for Karen to
- 53:03Speaker 2: continue to try to say that this was antidepressants. It
- 53:07Speaker 2: is ridiculous. It is stigmatizing. It is misinformation and it
- 53:12Speaker 2: is denial with capital letters. And I just love, I'm
- 53:16Speaker 2: not having it. I'm not having it.
- 53:18Speaker 1: I really was very surprised this week when they said,
- 53:22Speaker 1: you know, you're not drinking. How do you feel about
- 53:25Speaker 1: other people drinking? She's like, oh, it doesn't bother me
- 53:27Speaker 1: because drinking is not my problem. I mean, that would
- 53:29Speaker 1: be like my husband, who is a recovering alcoholic, to say,
- 53:32Speaker 1: I did cocaine in college, and so cocaine is my problem,
- 53:39Speaker 1: not drinking.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Right. No. What?
- 53:42Speaker 1: And by the way, yeah, Karen should not be mixing
- 53:45Speaker 1: prescription medications and even have one drink if it says
- 53:48Speaker 1: so on the bottle.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Correct.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Sounds like maybe she had prescription medications and then 14 drinks.
- 53:54Speaker 1: And we would see her on the show pounding drinks.
- 53:57Speaker 1: And the fact that she had, I really do think
- 53:59Speaker 1: it's five DUIs.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Yes. You don't get five DUIs unless alcohol is a
- 54:08Speaker 2: problem for you. And the fact that it's like Judge
- 54:11Speaker 2: Judy has this saying, don't pee on my leg and
- 54:14Speaker 2: tell me it's raining. That's what Karen does to all
- 54:17Speaker 2: of us. And I think that my hope is that
- 54:22Speaker 2: the women are able to confront it because I cannot
- 54:26Speaker 2: emphasize enough, if Karen maintains this, she will relapse. And
- 54:32Speaker 2: because of the five DUIs, if she relapses, there is
- 54:37Speaker 2: a great chance that she or somebody else could die
- 54:40Speaker 2: or get severely hurt.
- 54:41Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 54:42Speaker 2: And that, you know, when you understand addiction and you
- 54:45Speaker 2: understand recovery, this is a very, very intensely problematic statement
- 54:51Speaker 2: that I will be writing in a lot of questions
- 54:54Speaker 2: to Andy for the reunion because I want to know
- 54:58Speaker 2: some things about Karen's continued denial and minimization.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. But I think, you know, they even said when
- 55:06Speaker 1: she said that, and I can't, I think it was
- 55:08Speaker 1: Ashley that was sitting there and they kind of do the,
- 55:11Speaker 1: they do that sound. And then they focus it on
- 55:13Speaker 1: the other person's face.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Like, they did that. Really?
- 55:16Speaker 1: They did that. And then another time they said something
- 55:19Speaker 1: about Karen. They said, she's not doing AA. She calls
- 55:22Speaker 1: it something else. Because she had said on one of
- 55:25Speaker 1: those interviews that she goes to NA because she feels
- 55:29Speaker 1: that her issue is more with narcotics, with pills.
- 55:34Speaker 2: Right. And anyone in recovery will tell you a drug
- 55:38Speaker 2: is a drug is a drug is a drug. Right.
- 55:41Speaker 2: Anyone will tell you that.
- 55:42Speaker 1: So what do you have to like say, you just say,
- 55:43Speaker 1: why do you have to be so specific about it?
- 55:46Speaker 2: That's right. Well, again, because she's in denial. So that
- 55:49Speaker 2: is a firm in denial. I still know, I still
- 55:53Speaker 2: want people to know that I am sticking- to my
- 55:57Speaker 2: denial and, and until like, while she, you cannot be
- 56:02Speaker 2: actively in recovery and still maintaining that denial. You can't, it's,
- 56:06Speaker 2: it's an, it's antithetical to the entire process. Step one,
- 56:11Speaker 2: and they put it on the screen. I forget who
- 56:13Speaker 2: it was, Giselle or someone was like, wait, what's the
- 56:15Speaker 2: first step? First step is identifying that there's a problem.
- 56:18Speaker 2: And the reason for that is we can't fix what
- 56:21Speaker 2: we don't know is right. We can't fix what we're
- 56:24Speaker 2: not aware of, what we're not able to acknowledge. And
- 56:28Speaker 2: so she can't, she can hold the biggest crystal in
- 56:31Speaker 2: the world and drink her damn tea and claim that
- 56:35Speaker 2: she's mothering these people in NA. Karen is doing what
- 56:40Speaker 2: the grand Dom does best. She is leading. She's being
- 56:44Speaker 2: led by her, her alter ego and, inflating her sense
- 56:47Speaker 2: of self-importance which as you know goes against everything when
- 56:51Speaker 2: it comes to being in the program humility accountability right
- 56:55Speaker 2: and it's like she's displaying none of that it's just
- 56:58Speaker 2: very upsetting and she still she said um she was
- 57:03Speaker 2: on watch what happens live and andy brought up the
- 57:06Speaker 2: grand dom title and then she claimed basically now this
- 57:09Speaker 2: wasn't exactly what she said but like that fans will
- 57:12Speaker 2: riot if she doesn't use it so okay so there
- 57:15Speaker 2: she is and it's like.
- 57:18Speaker 1: She said, even though I said I never said that
- 57:22Speaker 1: about myself, the fans are still saying it. So what
- 57:24Speaker 1: are you going to do? What can I do? They're
- 57:26Speaker 1: still calling me the Grand Dame, Andy. And Andy's like, okay.
- 57:31Speaker 2: Um, and by the way, when asked about ultimate girls trip,
- 57:35Speaker 2: she shaded Giselle and said that Giselle was asked by, um, uh,
- 57:40Speaker 2: what's the word I'm looking for? Because basically because Karen
- 57:42Speaker 2: wasn't there. Yeah. So it was like a process of
- 57:45Speaker 2: a default. Thank you. That's the word I was looking for.
- 57:48Speaker 1: Um, Giselle was asked by default.
- 57:49Speaker 2: Mary Payne, you know, people in recovery, right? Your husband's
- 57:53Speaker 2: worked very hard. Does that sound like somebody who is sober,
- 57:56Speaker 2: taking a personal inventory, having humility? Does that sound like
- 58:00Speaker 2: that to you?
- 58:01Speaker 1: It's like, oh, Giselle did great on that show. Yeah,
- 58:03Speaker 1: we started the show together. And, you know, that was amazing.
- 58:06Speaker 1: She represented us well. That's what she should have said.
- 58:09Speaker 2: Correct. Yeah. Correct. Because she's lucky to even be back
- 58:13Speaker 2: after this DUI, after the spectacle that she displayed herself.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Y'all, as we get older, we start to notice things
- 58:23Speaker 1: changing about our skin. I look at an old photo
- 58:25Speaker 1: and I see brighter skin, but now I have more
- 58:28Speaker 1: dark spots and my skin is just not as even
- 58:30Speaker 1: as it used to be. So that's exactly why I
- 58:32Speaker 1: started using GU Skincare. It's spelled J-I-Y-U. It's a Korean
- 58:38Speaker 1: skincare brand that's taken over the internet because of the
- 58:41Speaker 1: before and after results that people are seeing. It helps
- 58:44Speaker 1: your skin look healthier, smoother, brighter, firmer, and more youthful
- 58:48Speaker 1: without requiring this complicated routine. So they have these rejuvenation
- 58:53Speaker 1: toner pads. It's like the entire Korean skincare routine packed
- 58:56Speaker 1: into a single swipe. Every pad is saturated with eight
- 59:00Speaker 1: clinically-backed Korean skincare actives. It's your shortcut to that radiant,
- 59:05Speaker 1: glassy skin. It's designed for the brightening, the hydrating, the soothing,
- 59:09Speaker 1: and the anti-aging. all in one. It helps combat those
- 59:12Speaker 1: dark spots, melasma, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, which I have, discoloration,
- 59:18Speaker 1: fine lines, which I have a million of, and wrinkles.
- 59:20Speaker 1: I mean, we know I've got those, okay? And the
- 59:22Speaker 1: best part is they leave your skin feeling so hydrated,
- 59:26Speaker 1: like nourished, refreshed, not stripped down or irritated like other
- 59:29Speaker 1: toner pads. Korean skincare has become like the gold standard
- 59:33Speaker 1: for healthy glowing skin, right? We see it everywhere. And
- 59:36Speaker 1: this is the best one because again, it's all in one.
- 59:39Speaker 1: But if you're trying it for the first time, I'd
- 59:41Speaker 1: recommend getting the Glow Up Bundle. It includes GU's best-selling toning,
- 59:46Speaker 1: polish pads, and their moisturizer with the NAD +. You
- 59:49Speaker 1: guys know I'm very into the NAD +. It's the
- 59:52Speaker 1: easiest way to experience the full GU routine while getting
- 59:55Speaker 1: the best overall value. And we need values. Their dermatologist tested.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: They have over 650,000 happy customers.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: Hello.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: And there's a 90 day money back guarantee. So for
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: a limited time, GU is having a crazy deal for
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: our listeners. Their glow up bundle is already up to
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: 45% off right now, but our listeners can get it
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: for an additional 20% off plus free shipping. Insert our
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: code pink shade at J I Y U skin.com. That's
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: J I Y U skin.com and use code pink shade
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: for an additional 20% off. And after you purchase, they'll
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: ask where you heard about them. Please support our show
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: and tell them we sent you. Well, another thing I
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: wanted to talk about Tia's husband being on the dating apps. I, I,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: she found out literally on the show in real time,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: sitting in front of the botanical gardens in DC. And
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: I was like, from Stacy of.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: All people, Stacy of all people.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: And then we find out at the end of the episode,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: they ask her, like, did you ask your husband about it?
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: He said, yeah, it's true.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: I was like, Shook, shook. But what what Stacy said was,
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: you know, something like you had to tell me about
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: my husband. And now I'm unfortunately having to tell you
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: about yours and talk about a practice to read. Right.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: And I agree with other women's assessment that Stacey clocked in, right?
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: They started filming. She was like, cha-ching, clocking in for duty.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: And it was like she was creating a moment for herself.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: And that was embarrassing for Tia. And that I feel
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: bad about. Because, again, I understand we're filming shows. But
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: if you're friends, where's the loyalty of telling someone something
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: very impactful, again, to her and her children... it's like
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: the first scene that we see. And I don't know.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: I just think Tia deserve better than that, but kudos
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: to Tia or as Ramona would say, kudos to Tia
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: for just like owning it and being like, yeah, I
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: asked him it's true. And I just feel that's why
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: I love Tia. Cause I feel like she's honest. She's authentic.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: She's not going to lie or be subversive. She's just
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: going to say, yeah, this is what's going on. And
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: I'm very interested to know more because Tia and her
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: kids deserve better than that.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Hmm. But what are you thinking about Potomac in general? Like,
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: I'm loving it.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Well, I jumped back in because, like I said, last
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: season I was a little bit.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: I get it.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: I'm back in now. It's back on the DVR. Especially
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: because this thing with, like, Wendy and Eddie. And we're
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: getting kind of a side here that, you know, like,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I love to listen to the Bravo docket to get
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: all the legal stuff. And it's a podcast, everybody. You
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: should listen. And it's interesting that Wendy and her husband
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: have two legal teams and they asked somebody who's a lawyer.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: Yes. Who was it?
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Somebody's a lawyer.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Yeah. I forgot who.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: It's not Karen. It's not Robin. It's not Giselle. It's
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: not Stacey.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: Was it the new girl?
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: It must be the new girl as a lawyer.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: I forget what her name is, too.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: She's a new girl, and she's a minister, and her
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: husband is a coach for the Wizards.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: That's right. That's right.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: Yes. I think they asked her and said, as a lawyer,
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: what do you think? She goes, that's never good because
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: it means you're going to get the best legal representation
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: for your client, and you don't care about this person
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: over here. If two people rob a bank together, which
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: is basically what happened here.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. You're trying to get what's best for
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: your client. You don't care about the co-conspirator bank robber.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: So that's very interesting that they got two legal teams
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: because it seems she is going to be doing a
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: run and throw Eddie under the bus.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Oh, she started, honey, because what I'm seeing in Potomac
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: is two things that I've observed is that number one,
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: having those separate legal defenses, I was thinking from a
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: psychological standpoint, You can tell that Wendy and Eddie are
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: not on the same page. And I wonder how much
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: that strategy has to do with it. Because in a
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: court of law, legally, if it's you, if it's Eddie
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: against Wendy, how do you think that's going to impact
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: their dynamic at home? Number one. Number two, it feels
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: to me that Wendy is trying to set Eddie up.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: to be thrown under the bus to take the fall.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: She's doing this whole, you know, they're filming scenes where
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: he's just showing up smiling and just taking it. And
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: she's like, I'm mad at you. And it's like, you're
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: mad at him. Well, you allegedly participated in this, but
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: I think it is. They're trying to use the show,
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: my opinion, trying to use show to sway public perception
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: so that Wendy can get off. And then maybe Eddie
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: takes the fall.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: But do you think Woody and Eddie planned that? If
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: it comes down to it, he says, baby, I'll take
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: the fall if it comes down to it. So you've
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: got to keep that show. You've got to keep that going.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: That could be our only source of income.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: That's a great question. I want to say that it
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: does feel like a strategy. How planned and how in-depth
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: they went in, I'm not sure. But it does feel
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: like a strategy to me. And again, I get it.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: They have kids. You know, we don't want a Teresa
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: and Joe situation. When both parents go to jail, the
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: kids lose, right?
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: Nobody wins, but especially those children. And I am always
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: team Bravo children, first and foremost. They do not deserve
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: all this insanity that they get from decisions they didn't make. Yes.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: So I think that was maybe their way to protect
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: the family and protect their kids and protect maybe what
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: they still have, if anything, which sounds like not much.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: And I'm going to be honest, when she showed up
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: in that car, I thought to myself, read a room, honey.
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: Because if this happened to me, I'd be showing up
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: in a Hyundai. A used one.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I would just be in whatever car I had last
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: season and keep the lease going. But somebody said, maybe
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: it was you, but somebody said she's doing that. She's
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: trying to tell herself, I'm not guilty. And if I
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: have this car, then I'm not guilty.
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: Right. Or I think it's clear to me that she
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: sold her soul a little bit for nice things. And
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: she hasn't learned her lesson because she's continuing to do it.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: I think a lot of these, I read something about
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: how Portia was talking about. her first season, she got
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: like 60 grand and she spent it all on the
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: one party that we saw that she hosted on Atlanta
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: that season. Wow. She spent all of it. And so,
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: but what she went on to say is how housewives
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: tend to like your housewife, you're on the show and
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: there's these expectations. And so I think what happens is
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: we see a lot of these people who are trying
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: to flex and they don't really have it like that.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: And they're like, well, I'm on TV, but I got
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: to flex and roll up with my car that she
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: named after a Psalm. It's like, you know what? You
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: should name that after the jail detention center that you're
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: going to be attending. If you're not careful, maybe that
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: would be a more helpful reminder for you. Yeah.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: It's wild that she did that. And people are like,
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: oh my gosh. So it's not looking great. I don't
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: even know when their next court date is, actually.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: I don't either. But when I do talk about Potomac,
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: I'm going to work on gathering some more of that
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: information because I don't know specifics. But it gives me
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: the sinking feeling in my stomach like I had with
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Jersey because I watched Jersey throughout the whole season. thing
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: with tree and Joe, and it feels very reminiscent of that.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: And it makes me feel sad because at the end
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: of the day, these housewives, they're all human, right? Everyone
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: has their flaw, which is why I do what I do.
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: Everyone is human. Nobody's perfect. We all have our flaws,
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: but if you're gonna prioritize stuff and money, That is
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: never going to end well. And people are either going
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: to figure it out or they won't. And I hate
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: to see these beautiful women make these mistakes.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: January. Their trial is set for January in Carroll County, Maryland.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: So at least it's not in the federal court of
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: New York because when they get you there, they get
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: you every time.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: Oh, amen, sister.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: They get you in federal court every time.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: Every time. Yeah. Yeah. because you know what I always
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: joke about and this is not really funny but it's
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: like I would probably the one crime I would absolutely
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: never commit is anything financial because it's like you could
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: kill someone and get away with stuff, but you commit
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: financial fraud or take money from the powers that be,
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: and they're going to stalk your life. Like they're going
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: to hunt you down like a dog, you know? And it's,
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: it's not funny, but I do, I always say that
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: I'm like paying my taxes, doing everything by the letter
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: of the law. Cause those people, they, they're tough. And
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: they'll get you.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: They'll get you.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: They'll get you.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Wrapping up, are you watching The Traitors?
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: I am not.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: It's the new season with the normal people. It's just normies.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Can I tell you, I've never watched it because here's,
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: here's my problem. I get, I can only have so
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: much brain space for shows and the traders, because it's
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: a game. I never, I was like, I don't know
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: how useful I would be talking about this.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: Cause it's like a game, but just watch it for fun.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: I should, I should just for fun. Whenever we podcast,
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: I come up with a list of things. I know
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: I need to watch. Wait, what was the show you
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: kept telling me to watch?
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: Welcome to Plathville.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Plathville, which my Patreon community is begging me always to
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: do Plathville.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: You just can't even imagine the- Too many episodes. Well,
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: I know, but I mean, I'm doing a rewatch right
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: now with Keisha. We're on season five, but we just
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: started from the beginning and started watching it again. The
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: psychological study that you could do on Kim Plath, you
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: could probably actually write a book.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: I probably could. I probably could. And between, again, all
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: these shows, the 90 Day Fiance and Love After Lockup
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: and all this stuff, it's like, it's all, if I
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: ever get to a place where I'm healthier and I'm
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: doing more shows, like for me, that is a goal.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: But sometimes it is overwhelming. It's like a lot of info.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: And I think with the traders and the new season
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: that's on right now, because it is just normal people,
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: you could watch it just for fun. And then when
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: the next season comes out with the celebrity edition, you'll
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: already kind of know how the game is played and
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: you learned it with the normal people. That's true. So
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: you're not distracted by, because what you find on the
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: traders when they have housewives on there, big brother people,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: survivor people on there, it gets, in your mind, you're like, well,
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: I know the housewives think, but the survivor people are
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: thinking another way. And then like the big brother people
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: think another way.
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: So that adds a layer to it. But this new
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: season that's all the normal people, it's just like, this
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: guy's a funeral director. This guy's a teacher. This one's
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: a personal trainer. This lady's a nurse. And they're just
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: like regular people with regular jobs, but they're entertaining because
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: they know the game because they've been watching it.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: Right, right. It's really good. Well, you may have convinced me.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: Just for fun.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: You may have convinced me. You don't have to talk
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: about it. You don't have to talk about all the
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: shows you watch. Just watch it. Take it in. Let
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: it wash over you and enjoy it.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: And I do love Casey Rose Wilson, of course. So
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: that's next season. Well, then maybe I have to watch
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: now so that I can watch my girl next season.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: That's right.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: TBD. Okay. All right.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: TBD.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: You've planted a seed. Thank you.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: All right. Are you watching anything else for fun?
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: Well, let's see. I just finished watching Ultimate Girls Trip,
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: which I absolutely loved. I thought it was really well done. Really,
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: really great.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: Me too.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of what I watch a lot
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: of like true crime when I'm not watching Bravo. So
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: I've kind of been taking in a lot of different stuff.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: Did you watch a killer story? A killer story.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: Was it on Netflix?
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: I think so. It's about the, like the New York
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: times writer who went to the little town and it's
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: the couple that's been trying to help this woman for
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: years and years and years on her case. And they
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: don't know her.
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Wasn't that fascinating?
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: That was fascinating. Oh, my God. And so, yes, I
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: watched that. And you know what else? Did you watch
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: The Widower? Mm-hmm. Oh, my gosh. That was fascinating, too.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: That guy.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: Ew. Oh, my. He came on screen because, you know,
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: I always try to reserve judgment, right? It's like between
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: the way that things are edited and I don't know
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: these people. Mary Payne, that guy talked for literally five seconds,
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: and I was like, he did it. Oh, yeah.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: He killed everybody.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: Yeah. I was like, he did all of it.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Anybody that chooses that hair.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: Some people.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: And just like that. He was so histrionic and drum.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: It just, the whole thing. I was like, and then
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: of course, well, I know this is a little bit older,
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: but maternal instinct. I did a podcast on that. That was,
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: I mean, these true crime stories. And actually I'm excited.
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: Cause I have, it's a podcast called. Crime cocktails and BS. Yes.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: So they like true crime, but they also like Bravo
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: and they like reality TV. So we're going to do
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: a little episode swap and we're going to talk about
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: some true crime stuff. We're going to talk about some
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: Bravo stuff. So I'm very excited for that collab because
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: it's like in our world of all of this stuff.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: I am always fascinated by the crossover of so many
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: people that like reality TV and also like true crime stuff.
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: And I think at the end of the day, it
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: comes down to storytelling. I think we just like to
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: study people and storytelling the people that kind of like
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: the crossover of both. Because most people that like true
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: crime definitely dip into the reality TV and vice versa.
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: Totally. And my perception of it is that a lot
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: of folks, we just want to know why do people
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: do the things they do, period, whether they're committing crimes
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: or on reality TV. And that's what led me to
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: want to be a therapist. I'm like, I need to
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: understand the psychology of all of this. And I think
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: average people, even when you're not a therapist, it's still
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: a super interesting thing. thing that has taken over our culture.
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: And so I totally get it. And listen, that's why
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: I'm glad I'm here to mention it all, as Bethany
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: would say.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: Mention it all.
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: Mention it all.
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Tell everybody where they can find your podcast and your amazing, popular,
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: killing it Instagram as well.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: Oh, geez. Thank you. Doesn't feel like it, but. You're
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: killing it. So you can find my podcast at Your
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: Bish Therapist, anywhere podcasts are found. I just came back
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: from my season seven premiere this week. Amy Phillips and I,
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: we covered Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, season five. Great. Which,
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: do you watch that, Mary? Of course. Yeah.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: See, I watch it for fun. I don't talk about it,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: but I watch it.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. Well, I didn't watch. So after season one,
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: I was like, this is too much. But for season five,
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: it was so much about Dakota and Taylor's, like their
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: kind of love addiction. And I was like, we've got
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: to do an episode on this. So I did. We
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: talked a lot about Darvo and narcissistic abuse and things
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: like that. So you can tune into that. Um, also
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: find me on Patreon on Patreon. We have like a
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: great community of, you know, we do zooms and chats
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: and all these different things. And I tend to be
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: a little bit more personal to on my Patreon, like, um,
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: you know, maybe talk a little bit more about my
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: personal life and things like that. And then of course
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: on Instagram, you can find me at your Bush therapist
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: and here's my plea to people. Please follow me because
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: I have been a hair away from 30 K for
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: a while and And the algorithm is punishing me for
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: being in a depressive episode. I was off of Instagram
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: for a month because I was in a depressive episode
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: and I am being punished for that, which like that's
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: just how the algo is. But, you know, so if
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: you could follow me, that would be great. I would
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: appreciate it. Yeah. Thank you always for having me on
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: the show. I love your peeps are so supportive. I
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: adore you and I just love coming on. So thank you.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: I always love talking to you and I just hit 16,000
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: on Instagram and I felt like I'd won the lottery.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: If I was a scooch below 30, I would also
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: be begging people for my life. Like, please just let
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: me get there.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: Just get me to 30.
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: So, but listen, don't, don't diminish yourself because that's, you
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: have a huge following. You have a lot of people
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: that listen, a wonderful community and yeah, I'd rather grow
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: slow than like blow up and have people on my
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: page who like don't know me, don't care about me,
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: don't understand the community. You know what I mean?
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: So I don't know. That's kind of how I look
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: at it all. We're doing great.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: I'm happy. I'm happy.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: Everybody, please go follow your fish therapist. And while you're there,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: make sure you're following me too. Pink Shade Pod.
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: I'll talk to you soon.
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: Bye.
