- 0:04Hey, let's get out of here. What are you doing?
- 0:08Are you crazy? You'll get caught.
- 0:11Come on. Come on.
- 0:12Let's get out of here now. I'm not going anywhere.
- 0:15I broke the window. It was an accident.
- 0:20Besides, nobody saw you except me, and I'm not going to tell.
- 0:25Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not
- 0:30do it to him, it is sin. James 417 I don't want to sin.
- 0:34What are you talking about? Weren't you listening in church?
- 0:39God wants His children to be trustworthy, to accept
- 0:43responsibility for their actions.
- 0:45Yeah, they told a story about a kid breaking a window with his
- 0:50baseball and then going up to the house to tell the lady he'll
- 0:53pay for it. Are you going up to the door?
- 0:56I don't have to. Here comes the lady now, no.
- 1:00Is this your ball, young man? Yes, ma'am.
- 1:08Quit saying that bad word. I throw the ball, ma'am.
- 1:12I'll pay for the window if you just tell me how much it is.
- 1:16Don't you stand there and lie to me.
- 1:19Now I know one of you did it, and you better just tell the
- 1:23What did you say I. Broke your window?
- 1:26It was an accident but I'll gladly pay for it.
- 1:29I have some money in my Piggy Bank, almo lawns and wash cars,
- 1:33whatever I have to do if it's not enough.
- 1:36That's very responsible. Love you young man, what's your
- 1:41name? Jeffy.
- 1:43Well, Jeffy, if you'll promise to play ball in the park next
- 1:47time instead of near my house, I'll just report this to the
- 1:52insurance company. That way neither one of us has
- 1:56to pay for it. Do we have a deal?
- 1:59Yes ma'am, but I'd at least like to clean up the leaves in your
- 2:03yard just as a sort of punishment.
- 2:06Well, it's no punishment, but I think it's a great idea.
- 2:10I'll go get my rake and I'll be right back.
- 2:13Wow, there's not many boys around like that anymore.
- 2:19No, ma'am, he's Jeffy. He's the only Jeffy I know.
- 2:23I suppose I'll help him with your yard since I was supposed
- 2:27to catch the ball. May I have my ball back?
- 2:32Please, I think I'll keep the ball.
- 2:35It will remind me that there are two trustworthy boys in the
- 2:40neighborhood. How about if we just come say hi
- 2:44to you once in a while? That way you could remember us
- 2:47and I could have my ball back. It's a deal here.
- 2:51Catch. Oops, good thing he didn't break
- 2:56anybody's window. Now we know why the windows
- 3:00broken that boy cannot catch. Where are you at heart?
- 3:11What's wrong? That's what I'd like to know.
- 3:13I just. Got arrested.
- 3:15For what? Shoplifting.
- 3:17I was at the store with a couple of my buddies checking out the
- 3:20candy when all of a sudden Frankie crams us, Snickers into
- 3:23his pocket and walks out without paying.
- 3:26That's stealing. Tell me about it.
- 3:28Next thing I know, Newman's out the door with a Nestle's Crunch
- 3:31and a pack of gum. I'm standing there by myself,
- 3:34breaking out into a cold sweat and I haven't even done
- 3:37anything. Did you make them return the
- 3:40stuff? They're my friends.
- 3:42Not very good ones if you ask me.
- 3:44Well, they're all I have. So what happened next?
- 3:48I decided to give it a try. Give what a try.
- 3:50You know, stealing. You didn't.
- 3:55Oh yeah, baby, I did. I should have never gone for the
- 3:59Butterfinger, but I couldn't help it.
- 4:01It's my favorite candy bar. What was wrong with the
- 4:04Butterfinger? Don't you get it?
- 4:06I dropped it. It's a Butterfinger.
- 4:08When I reached down to pick it up, that's when I attracted the
- 4:11attention of the cashier. She saw me, put it in my pocket
- 4:14and busted. Security was on me faster than
- 4:18you can shake a stick. I've never shaken a stick
- 4:21before. Next thing I I know I'm sitting
- 4:23in the back of a squad car. The police handcuffed me.
- 4:26Man, I've had a hard day. Well, I hope you learned your
- 4:30lesson. Oh yeah, I have.
- 4:32You can't trust your angels. What?
- 4:34Yeah, that whole bit about God giving his angels charge over
- 4:38you to keep you in all your ways.
- 4:40Well, it ain't all your ways, let me tell you.
- 4:43It's all your ways when you're doing the will of God.
- 4:45Stealing is a sin. You can't disobey God's Word
- 4:49like that and expect God to send His angels to guard and protect
- 4:53you from getting caught. Now you tell me.
- 4:56I shouldn't have to tell you that.
- 4:58Didn't your mommy teach you that when you were a kid?
- 5:00Leave my mother out of this. She had nothing to do with me
- 5:03stealing that Butterfinger. What am I saying?
- 5:05I didn't even steal it. I got caught.
- 5:09Then you go to church and learn the 10 commandments.
- 5:11Yeah, do you remember? Thou shalt not steal.
- 5:15I remember. So the lesson you should have
- 5:18learned is that you have to stand up for what is right.
- 5:20If you're going to be a doer of God's Word, you want to know
- 5:23what I think your friends need to get saved, or else you'll
- 5:27have to find some new friends. Yeah, maybe you're right.
- 5:31I am right. I'm always right.
- 5:34That's why I'm the hard and you're not.
- 5:36All right, all right, I'm going to go get Newman and Frankie
- 5:39saved. That's more like it.
- 5:50Oh hey pops, come quick. What's the matter, Bungie?
- 5:54I'm broken glass. Don't move.
- 5:56I'll get a broom. Playing baseball with your
- 5:59friends again, were you? Yeah, it was my turn at bat and
- 6:03I hit the ball good. How did you know?
- 6:07Here's your ball. Oh, there it is.
- 6:09Thanks. See ya.
- 6:12Where do you think you're going? The kids are waiting.
- 6:15We're in the middle of a good game.
- 6:16Bye. Isn't there something you want
- 6:18to say to me first? No, not really.
- 6:21You broke my window and you have nothing to say.
- 6:24I didn't break your window. Oh, I'm sorry, I I thought, but
- 6:28you said you hit the ball. I did hit the ball, but I didn't
- 6:31break the window, the ball did. You hit the ball through the
- 6:35window, that makes it your fault.
- 6:38It's not my fault, it was an accident.
- 6:40It was an accident, but it's your fault because you hit the
- 6:44ball and it went through my window.
- 6:46I wasn't trying to break the window.
- 6:48But you were trying to hit the ball.
- 6:50Well, yeah. And you hit it good, right?
- 6:53Yeah, you should have seen it pops.
- 6:56It went right over the pitcher's head and that's when I hit the
- 6:59window. I don't know, but the ball
- 7:01didn't listen. Bungie, the Bible says in
- 7:03Proverbs 2813 that a person who refuses to admit their mistakes
- 7:08can never do well. But if they admit it and stop
- 7:11doing it, they'll get another chance.
- 7:14But it wasn't a mistake, it was an accident.
- 7:17Sometimes our mistakes are on purpose and sometimes they are
- 7:20accidents, but either way, they are still mistakes and they
- 7:24still need to be admitted. The best way to admit a mistake
- 7:28is to say you're sorry, and if you really mean it, you'll stop
- 7:31doing it. So you want me to stop hitting
- 7:34the ball? No, just try not to hit it
- 7:37through a window. Maybe you need to go play at the
- 7:41park instead of the front yard. Can I ask you something pops?
- 7:47Of course you can. What if you do something wrong
- 7:50that you know you'll get in trouble for?
- 7:53Do you have to tell on yourself? Well, if you don't admit it,
- 7:57then you've done two things wrong and chances are you'll get
- 8:00in even more trouble. I'm really sorry for breaking
- 8:05the window pops. I forgive you, Bungie here.
- 8:10A broom? What's this for?
