- 0:00Welcome to the Revolution of Purpose Podcast. I'm your host,
- 0:03John Streit, and each week we bring you conversations with thought leaders,
- 0:07entrepreneurs, and individuals who have aligned their life with
- 0:11purpose and created extraordinary results. So I'm going to live
- 0:14through it and accept it radically with grace and hope and love.
- 0:18I mean, I would be proud to be in this household. It was an honor.
- 0:21I had so much fun. Tune in every Monday for the Revolution of Purpose
- 0:25solo show and every Thursday for Revolution of Purpose Conversations.
- 0:29Hello and welcome to Revolution of Purpose. I'm your host,
- 0:33John Street. I am so happy that you're here with me today.
- 0:37So today I am so excited to introduce you to my friend
- 0:41and mentee and co-author of the book Revolution
- 0:45of Purpose, Zunaira Rafay. Zunaira is an
- 0:49alignment coach, a hypnotherapist, an NLP practitioner,
- 0:53and she specializes in helping individuals and leaders reconnect
- 0:57with their highest potential. Her work goes far
- 1:00beyond surface level level change. She focuses on deep subconscious
- 1:05transformation through modalities like NLP, which is neuro-linguistic
- 1:10programming, a timeline therapy. She allows her
- 1:14clients to shift identity patterns and release those emotional
- 1:18blocks. She creates lasting internal alignment.
- 1:22She works with both individuals and organizations, guiding high
- 1:26performers and leaders through identity evolution,
- 1:29emotional mastery, and clarity of purpose so they
- 1:33can operate at their highest level, not just in what they do, but who they
- 1:37are. And what makes this conversation so powerful today
- 1:42is that we're not just talking about mindset. We are
- 1:46talking about these subconscious patterns that shape our identity,
- 1:50those internal rewirings that are required for real
- 1:54transformation and what it truly means to become the
- 1:58version of yourself that your purpose is calling you to.
- 2:02So, Naira, welcome to Revolution of Purpose Podcast.
- 2:06Thank you so much. It's such an honor. I am so
- 2:11happy to be here. I haven't been introduced like that, so it feels so good.
- 2:14Thank you so much for doing that. I love that. How are you doing today?
- 2:17You'll get used to it. It's the first of many, and I'm,
- 2:21I'm doing really well. I've been so looking forward to this conversation. I know
- 2:24we have been talking about this for about a year.
- 2:28Oh my gosh. And it's, it's really exciting to me to,
- 2:32to do this because your work, it really sits at the intersection of
- 2:36identity and mindset and transformation.
- 2:40So before we get into, into everything I want to talk
- 2:44about today, I want to start here. I want to ask you this question,
- 2:47Z. Who are you today that the younger version
- 2:52of yourself would be proud of? Oh my God, so many
- 2:56things. For, for starters, I think I'm someone
- 2:59who's very liberated and comfortable in her skin,
- 3:03someone who doesn't overthink or like, you know, has— is spiraling
- 3:07around decision-making and stuff, someone who stepped into her
- 3:11higher self who makes decisions that are aligned, you know,
- 3:14not from a place of survival, survival or people pleasing.
- 3:18But yeah, like to begin with that I feel like
- 3:22she would be really proud of me today. That's outstanding, and I'm sure she is.
- 3:26I'm sure she is. I know in the Revolution of Purpose
- 3:30coaching program where we, we wrote a letter from
- 3:33our goal-achieved life to our current self— yes, it would be a good idea to
- 3:37write a letter to that younger self and just let her know what
- 3:41you're doing now and, and how amazingly independent
- 3:45and brilliant and strong you are and how bright your light
- 3:48is shining around the world. Thank you so much. It wouldn't
- 3:52have happened without you. You know that you played such an important
- 3:55role in my life, especially for this. Uh, it makes me emotional
- 3:59every time, but like, I am so blessed to have you, so honored
- 4:03to be a part of this. Thank you so much, Z. It is, it is,
- 4:07um, an honor for me to be a mentor and
- 4:11coach in your life. And I'm so thrilled, just so thrilled the
- 4:15way the universe connected us, how everything just has come together, and the
- 4:19way that we're growing together is really amazing. I mean,
- 4:23there's no doubt you found me on Instagram and it just started
- 4:27there, and we had the book, the coaching program, and everything. And it's,
- 4:31it's been amazing to see your, your change in life,
- 4:34you know. Um, when we started working together, you were doing
- 4:38voiceover work and some ghostwriting and things like that, and during
- 4:42the coaching program, you really started to believe, hey,
- 4:46I want to do the same type of thing. What was that transformation like
- 4:49for you? Or, and even more, what was the catalyst that brought that decision
- 4:54on? Oh, you know where it's gonna go.
- 4:57So it was basically when we were doing the ikigai exercise,
- 5:01and I feel like— and I think it was when we were all
- 5:04doing it collectively that something lit up, and I was like Oh
- 5:08my God, what is this feeling? I've never felt like this before.
- 5:12I felt so alive. I felt so awakened. And I was like, oh my
- 5:16God. And then at the same time, I was really terrified. I was like,
- 5:19what is that? I can't ignore this. This, this is really strong.
- 5:22I gotta listen to this. And then it just like everything
- 5:26started to fall into place, even though at the time,
- 5:30you know how things were, it felt like it was falling apart, but it was
- 5:33all basically aligning and falling into place.
- 5:36Absolutely. And it was, I mean, it was like
- 5:40watching a, uh, an eagle learn to fly during
- 5:44the coaching program. Yeah, you were like, why didn't you think of this before?
- 5:47You'll be great at this. And I was like, what?
- 5:51I think a part of me wanted you to not validate that or like think
- 5:55a little bit, because then I would be like, okay, because I'd want to stay
- 5:57in my comfort zone. Because becoming a guide was, has been completely
- 6:02getting out of my comfort zone. And honestly, nothing has grown me more than this.
- 6:06And you were like, yeah, you would be so good at it. Why aren't you
- 6:09doing this? I was like, oh my God, now this is another sign I have
- 6:12to do this. And then you took it to like a whole nother level.
- 6:16You know, so much of what I do at mindset work, we go
- 6:20deep, but you go to like this deeper
- 6:24NLP hypnotic subconscious level.
- 6:27All the way in, all the way in.
- 6:30It's crazy. And you know, I'm really excited about exploring that
- 6:34side of it with you today, for sure. So if someone is hearing
- 6:38this for the first time, how much of our identity is
- 6:42actually being driven by the subconscious versus our
- 6:46conscious thought? So honestly, John, I feel like it's everything because
- 6:50our decision-making, our conditioning, it's all in the subconscious
- 6:54mind, right? Everything has been wired from our
- 6:58subconscious mind because we've been conditioned a certain way. And unfortunately,
- 7:02a lot of people don't even know that they've been conditioned a certain way and
- 7:06all of the opinions that they believe that are their beliefs are
- 7:10basically projections and others' opinions.
- 7:13So, um, yeah, like a big, big part of it.
- 7:16Because when I started my journey and I started shedding off a
- 7:20lot of layers and, you know, coming into my inner dialogue and my purpose
- 7:24as well, and it wasn't very long ago, to be honest, and it
- 7:28was like, oh my God, what have I been doing with my life? Where have
- 7:32I been? I feel like I've only lived 3 years even though I'm 33.
- 7:36So that's how it feels. And it's scary, but I feel like it's the most
- 7:40beautiful thing. If you're out to understand your own truth,
- 7:44you have to dig into the subconscious mind and know who
- 7:47you really are at the core. That's huge.
- 7:51What do you think are like some really common subconscious patterns
- 7:55that people use to hold themselves back? You know,
- 7:58in the coaching program, I love to call these our limiting beliefs,
- 8:01you know, because they really are. They're these limiting beliefs that are
- 8:05like prison cells to us,
- 8:08but they're actually of our own making that we can just
- 8:11walk right through anytime. What do you see, like, when you're
- 8:16working with people? What do you feel like so many are getting stuck in?
- 8:20Honestly, John, you couldn't have put it better because they are basically
- 8:24prison cells, right? And I feel like we've lived that
- 8:28life as well, so we understand what that feels like. And then breaking from those
- 8:31as well, we know that feeling as well. People do have a lot of
- 8:36limitations. I feel like it's not really about just the limiting beliefs.
- 8:39I feel like they're more scared to become a version of themselves
- 8:43that requires them to be their highest self,
- 8:47you know, because you, you've taught us this as well. It's all about be,
- 8:50do, have, right? So it all comes down to who you're supposed to be at
- 8:56the subconscious level, and rewiring that identity is really important.
- 8:59So some people would be really good to like tune
- 9:04in, they'd be really comfortable with the shifts, and some would be like, okay,
- 9:07you know, like, uh, okay, like, am I ready for this? Am I not ready
- 9:11for this? Do you want to take this path? But what I've learned as a
- 9:14guide, the kind of energy and frequency I carry to a session,
- 9:18that makes a huge difference.
- 9:21They automatically pick up. So now I understand
- 9:25how much of, how much of others' projections and how much of others' frequencies,
- 9:29like, I was also trapped in. So if I could, like, you know, if my
- 9:33frequency and my high vibration could have a domino effect for the
- 9:37other, then they can, you know, like, this is really good. So it's like
- 9:40we all can really heal collectively. It's great.
- 9:44You know, it goes deeper and deeper and deeper. I can't stop talking about
- 9:48it. No, I love it though. And would you say when
- 9:52you're seeing people identifying their own limiting beliefs,
- 9:55when you're working with a client, Doesn't that do the same for you?
- 9:59Like, doesn't that trigger in your mind, you're like, oh my gosh, I've been doing
- 10:02that same thing? And so many times our clients are really kind
- 10:06of teaching us and showing us as we're guiding them. I didn't know every
- 10:11other guide felt that way. Thank you so much for telling me that.
- 10:14I thought I was the only one. And God works in these
- 10:17amazing ways, right? Like, he's going to send a person that
- 10:21is going to impact us as well as a guide. I feel like it's
- 10:26both ways. It's not just us impacting the other, it's like a two-way street.
- 10:28And they're good, they're going to bring a part of us out, they're going
- 10:32to help us grow into a version of ourselves that we were not tapping
- 10:35into. So I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 10:39It's like, you know, every time I help someone heal with something,
- 10:43I feel like that part of me is also healed. So it's the most beautiful
- 10:48feeling ever. That is so beautiful, and it is amazing
- 10:51how this happens even from around the world. So you
- 10:56guys watching this, um, Zunaira is in Pakistan,
- 10:59I'm in the southeastern part of the United States, and because of the
- 11:04miracles of modern technology, we can have an interview like this, we can have a
- 11:07podcast like this. And it is amazing how even from
- 11:11around the world, I can feel her energy,
- 11:14she can feel my energy, and she's so right. As we're working
- 11:19with people and they heal, there is a part of us that heals
- 11:23along with them. Even when you're watching this, it's not bound by time either.
- 11:27It's not space, it's not bound by time, it's not bound by anything. We love
- 11:31that concept. We're flowing in that energetic field. We love that concept. Oh yes,
- 11:35it's amazing. I have chills, but I love it. I, I feel like
- 11:39you look at time differently as well when you learn to really
- 11:43channel yourself, right? Like before, it would be like, like we were just talking about
- 11:47it a while ago, like, okay, we can do this when this happens, or we
- 11:49can do that when this happens. The breakthroughs are so fast.
- 11:54The shifts happen so fast when you're tapping into your higher self and you're like,
- 11:57okay, I'm gonna take the discomfort and I'm gonna step into my highest self.
- 12:01I'll make the decisions. And when you're aligned with those decisions,
- 12:05it's like your reality is going to be on another level. And it's
- 12:09crazy. I love watching that happen for my clients.
- 12:13Mm-hmm. I do too. And it's been life-changing.
- 12:17You know, I was using time as a limiting belief,
- 12:22and I truly was like, well, when I do this, then I can
- 12:25do this, and then I can do this, or I will have this success
- 12:29when I'm this age, you know, when I've done coaching for this
- 12:33long, or my book has been out this long, or my podcast has
- 12:37been out this long. And I'm basically telling the universe
- 12:40what I'm allowing when I do that, because we're creating our
- 12:44reality that we see around us every single day, every single thought,
- 12:48all of the energy that we're flowing in. And it wasn't until,
- 12:52you know, I was— and we talked about this before this call, but I was
- 12:56in Austin, Texas with, uh, our friend
- 13:00and mindset coach Adam Avenis, and he was talking about
- 13:04how the quantum physics part of time, where every different
- 13:08um, option of our life already exists,
- 13:12and how when we go on our frequency up that map of consciousness,
- 13:16we are actually aligning with that time where it exists.
- 13:19And it was just mind-blowing when I finally got it.
- 13:23And I'm just like, you know what, like,
- 13:26God, Source, our higher power, the universe is
- 13:31so big that I don't have to wait for
- 13:35some amazing groundbreaking idea, it can happen like that
- 13:39and change my entire life in an instant. I don't have to keep looking at
- 13:43one day. I can believe that it can all happen right now. And that
- 13:47has been a gigantic shift in my life just in the past couple of months
- 13:51even. I love that. There's this friend of mine who recently said
- 13:55something really beautiful. If, if you know your why strongly,
- 13:59your how becomes really easy. And I do remember the
- 14:03same friend you were talking about, Adam, right? And the time I spoke to him,
- 14:06he was like, listen, talk about what you, you know, like what your timeline should
- 14:11look like. Don't talk about the how, you don't have to worry about it.
- 14:12And I was like, hey wait, he's so right. That's not for me to worry
- 14:16about. People usually get stuck in the how. And this is something
- 14:19I also face with my clients as well. And I have to constantly tell them,
- 14:22listen, it's not up to you. You just have to put in the effort.
- 14:26You just have to align with your highest self. Yourself. You gotta be that person,
- 14:30and the how will automatically happen.
- 14:33We can't— we don't know the how, right? God has
- 14:36the best plans for us. He has the best ways things are designed for us.
- 14:41He is the best creator, right? We can't be that creative,
- 14:45you know? So we gotta let the how be,
- 14:48and we just have to like tap into what we're supposed to do.
- 14:52And believing that if we're tapped into that highest
- 14:56consciousness if we are tapped into God, that that same
- 15:00creative passion, that same creative fervor
- 15:05is flowing through us. Like when we realize, like you
- 15:09said, it's not up to us. When we try to put limitations on
- 15:13ourselves, we're actually putting limitations on God. We're saying, well,
- 15:16the same God that we see working around us in the
- 15:20universe at all times is not big enough to do this for me.
- 15:23You know, but that's just not it. It's just not the way it is.
- 15:26We've learned too many times that God is absolutely massive
- 15:31and can absolutely create through us in an instant anything
- 15:35that we desire, anything that would change our lives. Absolutely.
- 15:39I think it's something we also accomplished in one of our mastermind calls
- 15:42as well, that, you know, if you're doubting yourself, you're doubting God. Please pardon
- 15:46me while I interrupt your podcast episode with a quick message.

- 17:43or reach out to me on any of the social media platforms I mentioned.
- 17:47And now let's get you back to today's episode.
- 17:51Mention be, do, have. You know, that is the crux
- 17:55of the teaching. I know watching Bob
- 17:58Proctor talk about that, um, was just so powerful
- 18:02to me. And like, before I even knew about this mindset,
- 18:06like just seeing the whole, you have to become your goal achieved
- 18:10person. And then when you do, you will do the things that
- 18:14person does, and then you'll have the things that person has. And I love
- 18:18that because it, on one hand, it puts the responsibility on us.
- 18:22On the other hand, it takes the responsibility off of us because it's
- 18:26really saying that if we just become that person, we'll naturally flow
- 18:31instead of hustle. We mentioned earlier about how we get into
- 18:35hustle culture and how hustle culture can absolutely
- 18:39drive you nuts trying to be a success, and it's not the way it's
- 18:43meant to be. We're meant to have success through our flow and,
- 18:47and not through our, our pushing, you know? Yeah.
- 18:51If you've seen that podcast of Alex Hormozi and Tony Robbins, that was
- 18:55such a good example. That was such a good example of it.
- 18:59Yeah. Expand on that a little more.
- 19:02So for me, like, I honestly believe that
- 19:06I was also a big part of it, right? Because I didn't really understand
- 19:10what be, do, have really means. So it was all about chasing
- 19:14from a lack mindset, from a scarcity mindset, and just like more
- 19:18and do more and do more and do more and do more, when it's really
- 19:22about being more, right? And when it's about being
- 19:25more, it's more about being in tuned, allowing yourself to pause,
- 19:29understanding your own truth. And you know what people
- 19:34really need to understand, that when you're elevating as your highest
- 19:38yourself, anything that is meant for you will not cross you.
- 19:41You know, we need to have that faith in God. We need to have that
- 19:44faith in ourselves. Because when we're in that hustle
- 19:48culture and we're constantly just like performing from survival, right, our subconscious
- 19:52mind is on a— in a low vibration, is activated in a
- 19:56low vibration. And we're telling ourselves all these, you know, limiting beliefs.
- 20:00And time is very different, like time is not enough, this is not enough,
- 20:03or constantly anxious and our nervous system is constantly dysregulated,
- 20:07right? So the work I do around the subconscious mind and nervous system regulation
- 20:12really allows you to come out of that dysregulated
- 20:16state, heal your past traumas, childhood wounds,
- 20:19your anxieties, and whatever, you know, that's been holding you back,
- 20:22even the limiting beliefs. And then you become at a level that
- 20:26you're elevated as your highest self. And when I say highest self, That's someone who's
- 20:30aligned with your decision-making, right? It has to be true to who you
- 20:34are. You know, it doesn't matter what anybody says. It doesn't matter
- 20:38what anybody believes about money, success, as long as it's true to you.
- 20:42That's your highest self. That is so powerful.
- 20:46That really is because no one else is going to see your alignment.
- 20:51You know, it's your alignment. Like that's so many people.
- 20:55Are always asking opinions of things they know the answer to,
- 20:59but they just want that validation. They just want somebody to tell them.
- 21:02Just like I wanted yours. I was like, should I be doing this or not?
- 21:06Well, and you almost wanted me to say no because you're like, that's overwhelming
- 21:10to me. And I'm like, no, yeah, that's exactly what you should do. And you're
- 21:13like, man, yeah, you know. But even recently,
- 21:18yeah, even recently with all the decisions, I feel like now that I'm practicing
- 21:21this muscle more. It is uncomfortable. There is discomfort,
- 21:25right? When you're— when you have to be your highest self, I feel like you
- 21:28become more stronger in taking more high-risk,
- 21:32you know, high-risk decisions. You know, you're taking more risk.
- 21:35Go on, you have something to say. Well, I know that just made me think
- 21:39of the best question for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And how
- 21:42would you say— let's say someone's watching this and they want
- 21:46to know the difference between feeling uncomfortable
- 21:51and being misaligned? Because sometimes you have
- 21:55to challenge your discomfort and that's the aligned decision,
- 21:59you know? So how do you tell the difference between those 2 things?
- 22:02So what I've realized is that when you're feeling misaligned,
- 22:06right, your body is going to tell you a different story. It's going to say
- 22:10no, like this is not for you. This doesn't align with your
- 22:14values because when you're stepping into alignment, you would know your values,
- 22:18right? You've, you must have done enough work on yourself to know at least
- 22:21what are your core values. And when you're taking that decision
- 22:25and, you know, stepping into that discomfort, you're gonna feel
- 22:29the peace. You'll still feel a little uneasy, but there is
- 22:32going to be peace. Okay, I've made the right decision. You're gonna feel like,
- 22:35oh, I've shed another layer off. I'm one more step closer.
- 22:40You know, it's always about that feeling of being one one more step closer.
- 22:43And I think be— having that feeling is really validating
- 22:47because then that's like proof of, okay, you've become closer to who you're supposed to
- 22:51be. I think that's huge because you're gonna have that terror
- 22:55barrier. You're gonna have that barrier, yeah, moment of fear
- 22:59that you have to bust through, but you're still aligned,
- 23:03you know. And there is that— I think it's just a deep knowing, you know.
- 23:07There is something deep down inside of you that says,
- 23:10this is right, even if it's scaring me to death, this is
- 23:14right. And I have to bust through the fear and flow in that.
- 23:18And I think you're 100% right. Because you can, you can tell,
- 23:23you may have to get quiet and really listen, but you can tell. Yeah,
- 23:26your body is far more intelligent than your brain, by the way. And your body
- 23:30knows, your body knows, oh my God, and intuition,
- 23:34it can do wonders if you can tap into that. Yesterday I
- 23:38was just speaking to this guide friend of mine, and I was like, you know,
- 23:40like, I need to have a particular conversation with a particular someone. You know who
- 23:44I'm talking about. And like, what do I do about this and all? He was
- 23:47like, listen, just go inside yourself and be
- 23:51in your core. You'll know what to say, because if it's coming from your truth,
- 23:55the conversation is coming from your truth. If it's really real to
- 23:59you, it's honest to you, it's gonna create more alignment for you. And if
- 24:03the other person is in receptive enough, then that will show
- 24:06you you were never supposed to align to begin with. And I was
- 24:10like, wait, that's so powerful. Because like, when you're
- 24:14supposed to be in alignment, right, like it shows. You get, you get
- 24:17that validation from God, basically, you know. It's like,
- 24:20it's like even the— even your reality, your current reality,
- 24:23and people around you might not agree, they might not understand,
- 24:27they're, you know, at different levels in their life. And that's kind completely fine,
- 24:30you know, everybody has their own journey. But I feel
- 24:33like God validates you in ways, the universe validates
- 24:38you in ways when you're in alignment. And you can tell the people
- 24:42that don't align with you, like their energy just doesn't match your energy.
- 24:46And that's okay. I think we did a lot of work around that back
- 24:50in our OP. Definitely. And I remember coming to you about,
- 24:54you know, a few people and you were And you know what I, what I
- 24:56really loved about you as well, John, you, you weren't that kind of a person
- 25:00who would be like, okay, just impulsively make the decision. This was something I liked
- 25:04about you too. You were like, give it some time, understand where it's coming from,
- 25:07how you're making that decision, and just like step into your highest self
- 25:10and how would she act? And then that would make things a lot
- 25:14easier. That is really important too.
- 25:18When we make sure we're in alignment, then we can make decisions that
- 25:22are aligned a lot easier. So that is,
- 25:25that is true. So kind of shifting gears a little bit,
- 25:28I do want to delve into more of the NLP
- 25:32and timeline therapy that you do and kind of share
- 25:35with people exactly what is happening during that process.
- 25:40Both of these questions. So with NLP, you know,
- 25:44it's just simply helping a person create new neural pathways
- 25:48in our brain, right? New ways of thinking. Simply that you have certain
- 25:52interventions, you have certain exercises, you have certain questions,
- 25:56you have certain breathwork— because I'm really into breathwork. I feel like breathwork
- 26:00is phenomenal. If you can add those to your interventions,
- 26:03they do wonders. So through that, you're opening the portal
- 26:07to the subconscious mind as well, right? And when you're doing that, you're also welcoming
- 26:10and inviting God, because I feel like my work is really rooted around
- 26:13that, right? So when you're tapping into that self
- 26:17and you're allowing yourself to, you know, when have new ways of
- 26:21thinking, questioning your own self, questioning your own conditioning,
- 26:25and then you have that like breakthrough, a client would have a particular breakthrough.
- 26:29Oh, okay, maybe this is not mine. Maybe someone told
- 26:32me that when I was a child, right? Or maybe this was
- 26:36some, some insecurity my parents had as well, you know, because they're
- 26:40human beings as well at the end of the day, and they pick up from
- 26:42their parents as well. So they learn to separate
- 26:47the two, right? And with that being said,
- 26:50timeline therapy work is also something rooted in that, right?
- 26:54Like, because it is a huge part of NLP, right, when you're
- 26:58recreating your reality as well. So in timeline therapy, you go
- 27:02back to a person's timeline, you explore the root cause of where
- 27:06that particular trauma, anxiety,
- 27:09negative emotion basically started and stemmed from. And it
- 27:14does wonders, John. Sometimes it'll take you into a very
- 27:17imaginative timeline where, you know, I don't know if
- 27:21you believe in this, but I do believe in generational trauma. And a lot of
- 27:24people have been able to heal their generational trauma as well through
- 27:28timeline therapy. That is so huge.
- 27:32Well, so many people carry around that emotional weight from past
- 27:36experiences and their traumas, and then Yep. When you look at this
- 27:41family cycles that are passed down one after another after
- 27:44another, someone has to be the one to break that cycle,
- 27:48you know. So I guess when you're talking about timeline therapy,
- 27:52when it comes to breaking those, those cycles of trauma,
- 27:56how, how does that happen? How do you help someone do that?
- 28:00Okay, so I would love to do a live example with you,
- 28:04but some other time whenever you're comfortable. Yeah,
- 28:07I love it. Maybe another episode. Oh my,
- 28:11this is triggering hypnotherapy time. No, no, no. So basically
- 28:15you just relax the person enough in a particular state of mind where
- 28:18they're comfortable enough to go into their timeline,
- 28:22right? And the timeline is basically the past,
- 28:25present, and the future— every person's timeline. And you
- 28:30never know where you're going to pick up. We sometimes feel like we know
- 28:34where a particular trauma or a negative emotion has stemmed
- 28:37from. But when you're doing timeline therapy work, the answers
- 28:41come out very differently and very uniquely. Sometimes it
- 28:44could be when I was 3 years old, it could be when a person was
- 28:487 years old, it could be something they picked up from a parent, or it
- 28:51could be something their grandmother had, you know. Like, it'll, it'll do like really
- 28:55crazy stuff. Or it could be something recent as well,
- 28:58because you're getting them that— you're getting them into a particular
- 29:02state of being where they're able to channel their subconscious mind, because the subconscious
- 29:06mind stores all the memories in your timeline, right?
- 29:11So your subconscious mind has access to it. So when you're tapping into
- 29:15that, you're also accessing your subconscious mind and
- 29:18accessing that particular memory that was, you know,
- 29:22which was like a root cause for that emotion, for that negative emotion,
- 29:25basically. So when you understand the root cause, you understand
- 29:31the learning, you understand your own positive learning from it, you preserve
- 29:35the wisdom and you release the heaviness. And I feel
- 29:39like that grows you on another level. That sounds like
- 29:43instead of managing their trauma,
- 29:47it's releasing it. It's actually bringing about healing through that
- 29:50release. Would that be fair, you think? Yes, but you're also
- 29:54carrying learning. Right? You access learnings, you access
- 29:58anchors, because our body and our mind and everything is really
- 30:02connected. And if you could really learn to create a coordination while we're
- 30:06working on ourselves or while we're healing, our body
- 30:09will support it too. That's,
- 30:13that's huge. Yeah, I, I love the, um, the thought
- 30:18of timeline therapy. I love, you know, we talked about earlier writing
- 30:21a letter to your younger self. I mean, So many traumas
- 30:25that we deal with right now are things that we felt
- 30:29in childhood, that we felt when we were younger. Absolutely. And it's huge to
- 30:32go back and heal that. And that's another way of looking at the timeline,
- 30:37because we can in the present go back and heal something that happened
- 30:41in the past. And I think that's another way that we can look at a
- 30:44timeline as not being linear, because, you know, if we believe
- 30:48that, that God and spirit is not controlled bilinear
- 30:52time, then why are we? So we can go back in the
- 30:56moment and heal that that happened many years ago.
- 30:59I have goosebumps. This conversation is great. I love it. I love
- 31:03everything. Isn't that awesome? Yeah. Oh my God.
- 31:06So when you're working with people and
- 31:10they go back in their timeline, um, and they get,
- 31:14uh, they get that release, like, what changes
- 31:18does that have? Like, what have you seen change in their life
- 31:21after they've done that inner work that deeply?
- 31:25Okay, I'll give you my own personal example, and I'll give you
- 31:29clients' examples as well. So basically, when they're able to do that,
- 31:32initially it is a little uncomfortable, you know, accessing the memory. But you have to
- 31:37keep them in a particular state which is separate and dissociated
- 31:41so they can really take the learnings and not really relive the trauma.
- 31:45Right? So for me personally, I feel like, uh, you know this,
- 31:48I used to struggle a lot with panic disorder and anxiety and stuff like that,
- 31:52right? And I used to have constant panic attacks. And when
- 31:55I did timeline therapy for myself as well, and when I got enrolled
- 32:00into timeline therapy, I started practicing it. And honestly,
- 32:04now I feel like my body doesn't even know what anxiety feels like, thank God.
- 32:09But like That's how deep it is, you know. That's how
- 32:13transformative it is. I see clients within 2 sessions,
- 32:17they're like doing some— I mean, they're like
- 32:21literally blowing my mind. And I was like, whoa, like you're blowing my
- 32:24mind with like results. You can teach me something new. So it's crazy
- 32:28because all that conditioning and all that baggage we're holding out,
- 32:32you know, like onto, it's a barrier between us and our highest self.
- 32:36And when that barrier is removed, you automatically tap into your higher self
- 32:40and you grow on another level. Just like you said, time is not linear when
- 32:44you're working on yourself like that. So you can like really tap
- 32:49into like years of growth with just like having the right breakthroughs.
- 32:54So when they break through like that, I guess it's, it's not
- 32:58just an awareness, it is like a literal identity shift. Am I right?
- 33:01Like, it sounds like you're saying that they decide
- 33:06who they are instead of deciding that they need to keep trying to fix who
- 33:10they've been. It's almost like getting them into the present,
- 33:13realizing their potential, realizing that in this
- 33:17moment there is no limit on who they can be,
- 33:20and, and the past no longer keeps them back.
- 33:24Absolutely. That's so true, because when they go through
- 33:28the discomfort of going in their timeline and accessing that heavy
- 33:31emotion or heavy trauma and working on that,
- 33:34automatic— automatically your brain knows that you can do this.
- 33:38And if you could do this, you could do anything. So you have more confidence
- 33:43once you're out of it, right? You're more relaxed, you're more released. Like, because we
- 33:48carry this in our body as well, right? We often don't know why something feels
- 33:52heavy. Why do we feel anxious? Why do we
- 33:55feel sad a lot? Why do we get depressed a lot? Why do, like,
- 33:58you know, our anger trigger right away? But when we do timeline
- 34:02therapy work, you get to the root cause. You understand and
- 34:06you know that you're not your behavior. You're actually someone way
- 34:10beyond that. What would you say is
- 34:14the hardest part of doing that type of inner work? Okay, so the
- 34:18hardest part of that inner work is that the the
- 34:22start, and it's only the start because you have to go into that
- 34:25timeline, right? And we work in this way that
- 34:29we don't even have to like push the client to talk about what happened
- 34:33unless and until they really want to. The guidance is enough, the framework is
- 34:37enough. So if they don't want us to probe into that memory, they get their
- 34:40own confidentiality, their personal space to not talk about
- 34:44it as long as they're going through the process. That's the beauty of it.
- 34:47Of it. Why do you think some people resist
- 34:50change even though they really say they want change?
- 34:54Is it just a fear of going into that trauma? Is,
- 34:58is that what it is? Like, I thought of, you know, pulling a brick out
- 35:02of a wall, that the whole wall might collapse. Yeah. No, this reminds me of
- 35:05my favorite quote. It was also in a movie, Coach Carter.
- 35:09I think I read it to you too. I don't remember. I don't remember if
- 35:12I did, but it goes something like this, that deepest fear is
- 35:15not that we're inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we're powerful beyond
- 35:19measure. When we liberate our fears,
- 35:22we liberate others. Oh my gosh. You know, my favorite
- 35:26quote from Rumi, we are not a drop in the ocean. We are the entire
- 35:30ocean in one drop. I remember the entire mastermind.
- 35:33I remember the entire mastermind when we spoke about this.
- 35:36So basically it's that self that they would have to
- 35:41become because our nervous system is bound to keep us in the familiar,
- 35:44right? Like when we get those terror barriers, they're also like trying
- 35:48to protect us. Every negative emotion is also a signal.
- 35:51Mm-hmm. You know, it's a signal. It's trying to protect us from,
- 35:54from something. So that terror barrier is trying to keep us in the same place.
- 35:58It's trying to keep us in the familiar zone. So that familiar
- 36:02zone is so comfortable for most of us, and I used to be that person
- 36:05as well. It's basically who you need to become beyond that terror
- 36:09barrier. Is what, you know, scares people because they're like,
- 36:12I don't know what I'm gonna be. Like, I had no idea I was gonna
- 36:16be this person. Like, hypnotherapy, are you serious? It hasn't
- 36:21even been a year. Yeah, so like, of course it's scary, but it's
- 36:25the most beautiful and the most liberating thing you can do for yourself.
- 36:29It really is. And seeing how far you've come in the
- 36:33last year or so is, is amazing. Even still
- 36:37today, where do you find yourself being challenged in your
- 36:41own growth? Love that question. So, uh,
- 36:45I still struggle with saying no. It's a muscle I'm practicing. You know that
- 36:49really well. I always come to you with it. And I feel like Revolution of
- 36:52Purpose was something that really taught me how to
- 36:55say no. And I think this was the, this was what I picked
- 36:59up on, like, you know, how to say no from you. And what
- 37:04I realized, that when you learn to say no more, you become more aligned,
- 37:08you know? And I'm not saying you're saying no out of fear, out of like,
- 37:11you know, uh, some sort of like malice, or you're
- 37:15trying to be evil or anything like that. It takes courage to say no.
- 37:18It takes a lot of courage for someone like me because
- 37:22I used to be this major people pleaser who wanted everyone to be happy,
- 37:26everything to stay the same, and everybody should like— but now I'm
- 37:30stepping into this identity who's like a little bit of a disruptor, you know,
- 37:33like, yeah, shaking things up a lot.
- 37:36And stepping into that person hasn't been easy, to be honest.
- 37:40There are a lot of nos, there are a lot of like being straight,
- 37:44you know, remaining to be kind as well at the same time, but saying
- 37:48no, being uncomfortable, taking more risk,
- 37:52and taking aligned action. So that's new for me,
- 37:55you know, like I have to be okay with being disliked for a
- 37:59lot of things. I have to be okay with saying no people. I have to
- 38:03be okay if someone does not understand. And this
- 38:08has taken a lot for me, to be very honest, because I
- 38:13was just like, okay, everybody should be happy. I don't want to say no to
- 38:16anyone. But now I started to do that more and more
- 38:19and more, and I say no more. And I feel like when I say no
- 38:23to the bigger things that don't align with me, I feel so much more closer
- 38:27to the things that do? Yeah, so I'm like, okay, I'm gonna
- 38:31do this more now. I think that's huge, and it just shows your independence.
- 38:35I remember when you took, um, your trip, you know, about a
- 38:39year ago. Oh my God, that was like a pivotal point for me.
- 38:43The trip was like, yeah, and, and, you know, it's crazy how
- 38:47everything falls into place. And it was like, I remember my
- 38:51partner at the time was like, I can't come with you. And I was like,
- 38:54like, can I just go by myself? He's like,
- 38:57yeah, okay, sure. Probably must have expecting me to say no, but I was
- 39:01like, you know what, I'm just gonna take it because I felt so called.
- 39:04And the mountains there, here, John, they do something to
- 39:08you. Like, I honestly felt so uncertain for a while. I was like, what the
- 39:12hell am I doing in my life? This was right before Ikigai. I was like,
- 39:15what the hell am I doing in my life? Do I really want to be
- 39:18a book writer? And it felt nice when someone like ask me, what are you
- 39:22doing? And I'm like, yeah, I have a book writing business. I write books for
- 39:24people. And they would be like, yeah, that's so cool, that's so amazing. I'm like,
- 39:27yeah, that is pretty cool, I do like it. But then I'm still like,
- 39:31there's this discomfort, you know? Like, it's like the furniture
- 39:35inside me had been replaced or like changed up
- 39:39when I went there. But that trip was so important because I all— it
- 39:43was also me challenging myself to take risk and try new things. And do things
- 39:47that I've never done before, you know, completely going with like unknown people and
- 39:52getting to know them, their culture, and then the culture there.
- 39:56It was just beautiful. Everything was amazing, you know.
- 39:59And I never thought— I literally had told one of my friends that was going
- 40:03there that, hey, I'm just gonna go in the room and I'm just gonna chill
- 40:06and I'm just gonna write, you know, like don't tell me to go anywhere.
- 40:09And he was like, yeah, yeah, sure. And I went every single— I
- 40:13went to every single place, John. I did not miss a single place because I
- 40:17was like, it was so recharging. And I was like, you know what, like,
- 40:19if I've come here, I'm not going to stay back and be comfortable. I'm— I
- 40:23want to challenge myself. I want to see what I could do, and I want
- 40:26to see how— where that leads me. I think this has been the one
- 40:29thing that has really like helped me because I remember when I started taking therapy,
- 40:34I was just like, I want to know my truth and I
- 40:38would allow myself to let it take me wherever it does.
- 40:41And I think this was the most courageous decision I made back in 2022.
- 40:46And since then, it has led me to where I am.
- 40:51I think that's huge. And I love it when you can look back
- 40:54and connect the dots. You know, there's that famous Steve Jobs quote
- 40:58that we don't connect the dots looking forward, but we can look back
- 41:01and connect the dots and see how how God and the universe was guiding
- 41:05us, you know, point after point after point to get us to where we
- 41:09are in our, our most highest self, you know. It's so
- 41:14beautiful. I feel like you, you get to have so much grace for yourself
- 41:17like that, right? And it's so much of the training you taught us as well
- 41:21with the magic word and rewiring every single day, like, you know,
- 41:24listening to Earl Nightingale and all that stuff. And I was like, okay,
- 41:29Oh yeah, like now it— now see, that's also subconscious
- 41:33work that we're doing. We're creating new neural pathways by listening to
- 41:37such audios and such things that really like allow us or challenge
- 41:41us or question us, basically. I feel like it's the questioning that we really need
- 41:45to do that really like, you know, shakes up our subconscious a little bit,
- 41:48and then something new comes out and you're like, oh, okay,
- 41:52this is what it is. So what is something
- 41:56about Zunaira Rafay that people
- 42:00would be surprised to know about your own journey? Hmm.
- 42:04Uh, my own journey. I think,
- 42:10oh, that's such a difficult one because I feel like I'm a very transparent person,
- 42:14but I've struggled a lot with saying
- 42:18no. I think this would be one thing. That people don't know about me.
- 42:22And I feel like the fact that I'm stepping
- 42:26into this person who's not a very bubbly person—
- 42:30not that I, I'm funny, but not a very, very bubbly
- 42:34person like I used to be— I think that's also a little surprising for people
- 42:37now. It's different. I say no more. I keep myself
- 42:41to myself when I need to. I recharge when I need to. I go
- 42:45out when I need to. I take priorities based on myself.
- 42:48I prioritize myself, and that is something very new
- 42:52for people around me. And now I feel like, I feel like my family is
- 42:55really proud. I'm really, really blessed. Like, they've— you know
- 42:58what, John? I feel like if you're really honest to yourself
- 43:02and you're really aligning with who you're supposed to be, realities do bend in your
- 43:05favor. God is great like that because he sees the
- 43:09discomfort you're going through to be your higher self, and he
- 43:13blesses you accordingly. God is great. God is the kindest,
- 43:16honestly, because it's not easy.
- 43:20I used to feel like, you know, like it's so easy for the person to
- 43:23go like, be, do, have. Yeah, like, what is that? That's so easy
- 43:27to say. But when I started to step into it, what it takes to be
- 43:31so delusional, be so faithful, be so courageous,
- 43:34be so kind, be so humble, be such a risk-taker,
- 43:39I was like, oh my God. This is why God really
- 43:43blesses the people who are elevating on a higher level or who are
- 43:47elevating on a higher vibration, because they're going all in. They're like,
- 43:51I don't care what my reality looks like, I'm gonna have
- 43:54delusional faith in myself and have delusional faith in God that it's
- 43:58gonna happen. I love that. I love,
- 44:02I love that you said delusional because it does seem like that on the
- 44:05outside looking in. But you know, it's really when
- 44:09we get to the point that we realize that we are spiritual beings having
- 44:13a human existence. Yes, you are. What we are— I love
- 44:17it— what we are creating in our mind is the fact,
- 44:21it's the reality. And then anything that we're actually
- 44:25seeing in the physical is just catching up with that.
- 44:28And I think that's really powerful, just like this conversation.
- 44:32We We literally like spoke about this a year ago
- 44:36and we did not know how it's going to happen. It happened
- 44:40like in, in, unfolded in its own unique way, right?
- 44:43Like who knew we'll be sitting here? And I'm so proud of you
- 44:46as well for taking the risk you're taking the way you've taken.
- 44:50Oh my God, your transformation, John, it's insane. Like,
- 44:53oh my, I love it. I am so proud. I am so, so, so proud
- 44:57of you. Thank you, thank you so much. I appreciate that. It's,
- 45:01it's all, uh, it's all God just flowing through me and me just
- 45:05surrendering, you know. I'm just have to constantly become
- 45:09that person, um, that God is using,
- 45:12you know. We are all vessels, and I truly believe that the more we
- 45:17learn our purpose, flow in our purpose,
- 45:20that we change our community, you know. I love how Deepak Chopra Deepak
- 45:24Chopra talks about dharma and how dharma is so important,
- 45:28not just because it's our own light, but how we are literally changing
- 45:32the world around us as we're living our dharma. And I
- 45:36think that's— that is huge. It's just like that.
- 45:40Oh, which— oh yeah, absolutely. Yeah, delivery. Yeah, we have— go on, go on,
- 45:44complete your thought. Well, I was just gonna say, well,
- 45:47what do you think is one truth about transformation
- 45:52or alignment that most people are missing? And tell
- 45:56me the quote you're about to say because I do want to hear it.
- 45:59So it's the same quote that I, uh, spoke about from my favorite
- 46:03movie, that like our deepest fear is not that we're inadequate, deepest fear is that
- 46:06we're powerful beyond measure. You know, when we liberate ourselves,
- 46:10we liberate others. It's literally that. And I've first
- 46:14like experienced it I feel like everyone's a mirror,
- 46:17right? Either they're going to expose something or they're going to trigger something or they're
- 46:21going to inspire something. All 3 things lead to us growing into
- 46:26our highest self, and that's a connection to God. That's a portal to God.
- 46:29So the truth with all of this transformation, I feel
- 46:33like anything is possible and everything
- 46:38is possible.
- 46:41This is just, this is just something like,
- 46:44it blows my mind because God's the miracle maker of the entire
- 46:48freaking universe and he created
- 46:52us. He created me. Oh my gosh, this feels like déjà vu.
- 46:57I love this, I love this. So yeah, like,
- 47:02he created us in such unique ways and we can create our own
- 47:05reality and and now we're tapping into ourselves and creating new
- 47:09realities, becoming, you know, who we're supposed
- 47:12to be, our most aligned self. You can have anything and every
- 47:16single thing. It's all possible for you. Like, people need
- 47:21to stop holding themselves back. Just like you said, the prison cells,
- 47:24the cage— try breaking it for once and see what
- 47:28lies on the other side. It's so much worth
- 47:33it. It's so worth it. It's— and it gets easy
- 47:37because I feel like— I don't think we would ever want to go back now,
- 47:39would you? No, 100% not. Never. Like,
- 47:42yes, it wasn't easy. Really grateful for how far we've
- 47:47come, but I would never want to go back to being that person, you know?
- 47:50I, I love being regulated. I love being able to create an
- 47:54impact through being who I am.
- 47:58Right? I wouldn't wanna have it another way. And thank God
- 48:02for this. Like, you know, so like I would just tell people,
- 48:05try take 3 months, take 6 months,
- 48:09just like 6 months of, you know, like you're like, oh, okay, that would be
- 48:12too less. Even though you and I know a lot can happen in 6 months.
- 48:16So much can happen in 6 months. That's a lifetime. Exactly. But that's
- 48:20because we're operating on that level, so we understand that. Right? But so can
- 48:24anyone else. Right? Anyone else can— and anyone and
- 48:27everyone can do the work we're doing. It's the risk and the decisions
- 48:31they have to make, the choices they have to make. That's it.
- 48:34That's it. Absolutely. I think
- 48:37the, the quote of the entire podcast today is,
- 48:42anything is possible. Everything is possible. I love that.
- 48:46I think that is absolutely huge. I, I think that's
- 48:49amazing. Zunaira, how can people get in touch with you?
- 48:53What are your socials? How can they find you? Yay!
- 48:57So Instagram, I'm posting all the time. I love being a content creator.
- 49:00I post a lot of cringe stuff, but like, that's also a muscle
- 49:05I'm practicing, so bear with me. Uh, they can reach out to me on
- 49:08Instagram, and then through there we can like chat. I'm on LinkedIn as well.
- 49:12I've started TikTok, still coming around that,
- 49:16like not really greatly to it. But yeah,
- 49:19those are the places. Your, uh, your, uh, contacts in
- 49:23the show notes as well. Um, that would be so kind of you.
- 49:26Yeah, absolutely, absolutely. Um, you know what stands
- 49:30out to me from this conversation is just how deep
- 49:35that subconscious identity shift really goes and how
- 49:39when we allow ourselves to go back to that
- 49:43childhood trauma, we get that emotional release in the moment.
- 49:47And, you know, we always talk about how things don't happen to us,
- 49:50they happen for us. And by going back to those traumas,
- 49:54we're taking ownership of that. Like, we get to decide that it
- 49:58happened for us, no matter what it was. And I think that that is the
- 50:02core to what real transformation looks like. It's not just thinking
- 50:06differently, but it's becoming different. Different at that core
- 50:10level. Thank you so much for being here today,
- 50:13Zunaira. I appreciate it. And keep doing the
- 50:17work that you are doing and helping people step into
- 50:20who they are truly meant to be. You are such a bright
