  So it is just Evan and I trying to piece together the reins

  last handful of years and I haven't done this in a long

  He's a little under the weather. He's been on an all liquid diet.

  He's not dying or anything. For the record, this isn't like

  So yeah, he's been probably not too far from a bathroom for the

  last two days, I think is what it is.

  So I mean, even when when he was at work on Monday, he would he

  was kind of going in and out quite often.

  That's kind of a normal state for him really though, isn't it?

  Well, that's The thing is that it kind of isn't at our office

  because he always gets frustrated because there's

  usually someone else in there and it has to be empty.

  Oh yeah, of. Course, he's a very particular

  pooper. Yes, he is.

  So yes, it is just Evan and I. This week has not been

  exceptionally exciting as far as news goes.

  So we kind of figured we'd just do a little bit of an October
• 1:53
  roundup as this is a very busy month in video games for
• 1:58
  releases. And we just had a Steam Neck
• 2:00
  Fest and oh, my God, yeah, a lot of things to play.

  And I was going through my list of things that I have played and
• 2:07
  it was much, much longer than I expected it to be.
• 2:10
  And so, yeah, that's kind of going to be the episode today, a
• 2:14
  little bit a little bit different.

  And created Nick and I have kind of been doing this recently
• 2:18
  where we'll just do a roundup of the month because it is what it
• 2:22
  is. So, but one game that we have

  both been playing and we won't talk about it too incredibly
• 2:31
  long because it has already been kind of talked about quite a bit
• 2:34
  on here, but Battlefield 6. Yes.

  Holy shit. It's been something.

  Yeah, so it, it feels like Battlefield's back.

  I just just don't go to the Discord or not the discord the
• 2:52
  the subreddit, because it's not good over there.

  If if you just choose to enjoy the game and live your own life,

  not too bad. Yeah, they're they're all sorts
• 3:05
  of mad about the season pass that's coming out because there
• 3:07
  was a skin that had a lot of blue on it and they're like, we
• 3:09
  don't want this. It has like fangs or something
• 3:12
  on the mask too. It's like, but it's like, it's
• 3:14
  not that bad. It's like pretty.
• 3:17
  They're concerned. It's like a slippery slope type
• 3:19
  of thing, I guess, But I also think they're being a little bit
• 3:22
  dramatic, if I'm being perfectly honest.
• 3:25
  As far as the actual game, though, goes up, like I am
• 3:29
  really enjoying this. It feels like Battlefield's
• 3:31
  back. We have had eight people, at
• 3:33
  least eight people playing almost every night since it has
• 3:36
  come out. We have to do that awful thing
• 3:40
  because we still don't have platoons where you have to have
• 3:44
  one squad join in and then try to join in on that squad from
• 3:47
  there. And it's kind of sucks.
• 3:50
  Yeah, it it's certainly less than ideal.
• 3:53
  And I understand not letting you know, a full 32 man team join,
• 3:57
  but can we get 8? Can we get 8?
• 3:59
  Just two squads? That's all I'm asking for.

  Two squads is pretty, I think, like perfect because you just
• 4:05
  that's I mean, I would argue a platoon will probably be like
• 4:07
  maybe I don't know how big a platoon is going to be.

  I don't remember how it was in the old games, but if it just
• 4:13
  gives you the basic functionality of like getting to
• 4:16
  do that, where you get like a larger group of people together
• 4:18
  and then you can queue in, it'd be perfect.
• 4:20
  That's all it really needs. To like, give us a name all
• 4:23
  that. But 8 is fair. 12 is probably
• 4:27
  fair. Like you get more than twelve.
• 4:29
  Once you start approaching half of a team, yeah, it kind of
• 4:32
  becomes a shit show. But 8 is it.

  It's a fourth of the team like. Yeah, it's really nothing.

  Crazy. And we're doing it anyway.

  We just have to do it the hard way.

  I don't know, right? That's just, I think it'd be
• 4:47
  nice too, because you get the other I.

  I would hope if you do that, you could have a separate icon so

  you could do or the icon would be green for the other four
• 4:55
  people that aren't in your squad necessarily.

  So you could know, because that's kind of the other thing

  that's it's kind of frustrating to me is cuz I know we're like
• 5:03
  you and two other people are, but I have to specifically look
• 5:07
  at each other name to find the other guys.

  And there's so much going on, it's very hard to do.

  Yeah, that's not worth it, You know, in the grand scheme of
• 5:14
  things. You're getting shot at, things
• 5:15
  are falling on you, helicopters are bound to hit you at some
• 5:18
  point cuz this it's like a Michael Bay movie all the time.

  So yeah, I agree, though I think it'd be nice to have some
• 5:25
  platoons with at least 8, at least eight people would be
• 5:28
  almost at 8 squads. That's crazy.

  But like, yeah, I agree. I I think the only other thing I
• 5:35
  don't care for as much is the fact that most of the maps are
• 5:42
  almost exactly what we played in the beta.
• 5:45
  Yeah. I was hoping for maybe a couple
• 5:47
  more maps than what we have it it seems either that or I just
• 5:52
  keep getting the same maps I guess is also an option.
• 5:56
  And we do play a lot of the same game mode so we are probably on
• 5:59
  a pretty similar with map rotation all things said and
• 6:03
  done. But it I am already starting to
• 6:07
  get burnt out on the maps a little bit because I burnt
• 6:09
  myself out during the 2 beta weekends of playing non-stop.
• 6:14
  So I, I, I definitely do want to see some more maps there, which
• 6:18
  I'm sure we will be getting and I'm sure there might even be 1
• 6:20
  coming with this first season. I'm not in. 2 Perfect.

  One next Thursday, which is like an oil field set in California
• 6:29
  Badlands. And then sometime in November,
• 6:32
  there's another California map called Eastwood, which is more
• 6:34
  of like a Hollywood Hills type, you know?
• 6:36
  Really nice. Oh yeah, I remember you telling
• 6:39
  me about that now. Yeah, there's a you can I saw
• 6:41
  yesterday because I guess a bunch of content creators got to
• 6:43
  play it and they were like showing things off.
• 6:45
  You can drive golf carts because there's a golf course on the
• 6:47
  map. So I was like perfect, Yeah,
• 6:50
  great. Bringing it back.

  Yeah, no, I'm excited, especially for yeah, the the
• 6:54
  season 1 stuff is looks like it's going to be pretty
• 6:55
  exciting. I for one to just say real quick
• 6:58
  skin's like fine to me. I can't believe people are

  really complaining about it. And that subreddit is I I get
• 7:04
  because for whatever reason, I need to figure out how to turn
• 7:05
  it off. Reddit just likes to send me
• 7:06
  notifications of a subreddit you go to from time to time.

  And the Battlefield 1 is always like a caption, like the title

  is always like dice has ruined me or Dice has done it again or
• 7:15
  whatever. And I go, oh, dice has done it

  again. Maybe it's a good thing.

  Click on it and it's usually it's like they're already giving
• 7:21
  up on the game because of this. Yeah, this blue skin that, you
• 7:24
  know, has, like a lot of blue on it.

  And I'm like, Oh my God, it's a game.

  Like it's. It's.

  Not you could choose. Not to use that way.

  They have a ton of millsim like. There's a scale here though,

  right? Like you can have a skin that

  just has some different like brighter colors that isn't just
• 7:40
  inherently like cartoony in my opinion.

  And like, you know, who cares? It's a game, don't you?

  If you're seriously worried about that in the middle of
• 7:48
  getting shot at in that game, it's like you have other
• 7:51
  priorities. Right, Yeah, I I find it

  definitely over the top. It it, I understand some of the

  concern too, because it is like that.

  That's what Call of Duty did originally to where they like
• 8:04
  kind of dip their toe into it. And now you can play as, you

  know, fucking Rick and Morty or Beavis and Butt Head and the

  Ninja Turtles. And the Ninja Turtles I was.

  Going to say Nicki Minaj like I, I, I get some of the concern and

  I also do not want it to reach that point, but a little bit of

  color is not going to kill us. I I half of the skins the mill

  SIM skins, I personally can't even tell the the difference

  between half of them. Maybe that's because I am not
• 8:31
  well versed in the various fatigues of of the militaries,

  but. I couldn't tell you.

  Yeah, I mean. I, I'm cool with a little bit of

  flair, right? Like a little bit of flair is

  fine, that's cool, whatever. But yeah, I the the doom and

  gloom that's happening is pretty rough.

  Yeah, well, it's like at the end of somebody pointed out today

  too. I saw on the Twitter post where

  they were like at the end of the day, like, do you think people

  are going to spend $1520 on a battle pass to get the same

  Gray, tan, Forest Green, you know, desert camo?

  Like they're not going to want to do 60 levels of that.

  They're going to want to have something that feels like at
• 9:09
  least cool to get. And in my opinion, I was like,

  they all do look pretty cool. Like I, I think they all look

  pretty nice. There's a couple of which I

  think they just kind of look goofy in it.

  It's more just from a practical sense, like there's one that has

  like neon green, like highlights on it.

  And it's like, yeah, if I wanted to be a traffic cone and get.

  Shot at, sure, but like. I'm not gonna take hey.

  Right, yeah, but like the other ones, they looked fine.

  And even that blue 1, I actually didn't mind it 'cause it was

  like the blue is not like bright.

  It's not a crazy thing. But either way, it's like, yeah,

  they're, they're always doom and gloom on that sub, right?

  They're just freaking out. As I've I've brought up many a

  times on this show and on Diggity in the past and

  everything else, like the people who populate those subreddits
• 9:57
  are such a small portion of the player base and a huge portion
• 10:00
  of the player base are going to eat those fucking skins up and
• 10:03
  they're going to love them and they're going to buy the battle
• 10:04
  pass and make dice a bunch of money.

  That's why they do it. They don't they the the the
• 10:09
  people who want the middle SIM things.

  It's there already. You have it, you have access to

  it, you can use it. Now they're doing the now that

  they're trying to get additional money, they're going to make

  other skins that a large a large amount of people are obviously

  going to want to buy. Look at Call of Duty, right?

  And as long as they don't get too crazy with it, I think most
• 10:29
  of this will pass and people will calm down maybe a little
• 10:32
  bit. I hope so.

  I hope so, right. But yeah, I mean, a, a

  subreddit, even if it has a million people on there, that's

  maybe a 10th of of, of a player base, if even.

  I mean, you got to think it's maybe a couple 100 people in

  there complaining every day and the game was a Battlefield

  record. I think it was like 7 million

  copies in three days or whatever.

  So like, yeah, couple couple 100 people versus at least 7

  million, probably more. Now obviously it's been like 3

  weeks. So like I, I don't really take

  their opinions into account too much.

  Sometimes there will be one good post, but like that's about

  that's, you know, like needle in a haystack type thing.

  I don't ever specifically go to the subreddit, it just pops up

  on my front page and it's like fuck, keep scrolling, keep

  scrolling. Yeah, like I'll see something

  and I'll, I'll foolishly click on it and then it's just people

  like dude, like I don't even know what to call.

  It's like doom mongering. They're just like, yeah, trying

  to say like this is the end of it.

  Battlefield 1 and Battlefield 5. They just weren't I, I, I used

  to really like those, those like World War One, World War 2 type

  of shooters, but I really don't care for it much anymore.

  And then obviously 2042 was what 2042 was.

  So, but I think I think this is good return to form.

  I think it is definitely heading in the direction that we were

  really hoping for. And I, I really do hope this has

  staying power within our discord because I want to keep playing

  this. I wanted to be our multiplayer

  game for the foreseeable future. I mean, I I haven't even played

  Marvel Rivals since this new season started like a.

  Going to even attempt that one. Yeah, so I went, I did not play

  the first one. So a lot of the people

  complaining about it that were like, it is not as role play

  heavy as the first one. I didn't really have that

  concern because I never touched it.

  So it wasn't that big of a deal to me.

  My kind of hope was it was going to be like a vampire dishonored

  and and by and large I think that's what they tried.

  But like boy. That's always good.

  Like, like there's like, if anything, I will say there's

  some pretty good dialogue between like the two main
• 14:31
  characters and like, I like the sort of setup that that is where

  like you're an elder vampire and this person is in your head and,

  and like that is kind of a cool dynamic.

  However, all of the game plays surrounding it, kind of like the
• 14:49
  the combat. I'll just say real quick, it's

  what are we doing? Like you start, you start
• 14:55
  punching, you cannot use weapons.

  So you have your abilities, your fists and telekinesis.

  You cannot do like you can't pick up a bat and swing it.

  You don't have a gun. There's nothing like that.

  So that's kind of already just off.

  I wouldn't even need a gun. I'd just like give me a knife or
• 15:10
  some, you know, some sort of thing like that, I guess.

  But the worst part of it for me is that they when you start
• 15:18
  punching, the camera automatically goes to this awful
• 15:21
  fisheye lens and it has like a lot of motion blur to it and you
• 15:25
  can't turn it off. It's 2025.

  You need to let me turn that off.

  So so I got about an hour through it until I was like, OK,
• 15:34
  like there's definitely it it I said it when I played it.

  It feels like if this had a Cyberpunk 2 point O type of
• 15:40
  update, it would be it. It could be something pretty
• 15:43
  good, but like that's a long has.
• 15:44
  Been a development forever and it's it got pushed back how many
• 15:49
  times like too many. They had all of the time in the
• 15:52
  world to make this right and it just it seems like it came out
• 15:57
  half baked like it wild to me. It's very sad, however, to

  immediately pivot and talk about a game that is immediately shot
• 16:07
  to the top of my like list for the entire year dispatch.

  I am blown away. I I I would watch this as ATV
• 16:16
  show. I love that it's a video game
• 16:20
  and I as far as I understand it, I think this is all original,
• 16:23
  like all of the characters and and like wow, it this feels like
• 16:27
  something that's been around for a long time.

  Like it, it just it hits all the right notes.

  The voice acting obviously is great.

  The choices are great. I like that there's you have a

  cinematic option, which is cool. You just kind of watch
• 16:39
  everything and then you make your choices and all that.

  And then you have the actual dispatch game that you do.

  But then they also have like a QuickTime event option, which is
• 16:47
  kind of cool to use like with the mouse because you have to
• 16:50
  like click down and like drag left or right depending on
• 16:52
  what's going on and all that. And it just kind of keeps you in
• 16:54
  it. But no, it's just, it's great.

  The humor is really good. I'm I'm I really am vibing with

  that. I guess my only thing is like, I

  understand the, the 1st 2 episodes came out yesterday and

  it's episodic. I get that.

  But like, I want it all right now.

  Yes, and that is why I have not pulled the trigger on it.

  I am going to wait until all of the episodes are out because I

  know how I am. If I stop playing it, I will not

  go back to finish. It so.

  all of it and be done with it and not have to be like, oh

  right, it's the end of the year. We're going to be talking about

  It was one of those things where I I said after I finished the

  second episode last night, I was like, if there if the rest of

  them are out, I would keep playing it.

  I would not I would have finished it last night.

  I would have played it until like one in the morning.

  So yeah, love that game. So definitely can't wait for you

  to pick it up because I'm curious to see how you feel

  about it. But other than that, yeah.

  Like I was, I was reading a few comments about that on a on a

  post specifically about dispatch and a lot of people were in the

  same boat as me. They're like, I won't finish it

  if I don't play it through all of it.

  But a lot of people were saying similar things about like
• 18:18
  Telltale back in the day when they would release things
• 18:21
  episodically or there's been a handful of games that have done
• 18:26
  it. And I there's part of me that
• 18:28
  understands why they do it. But I also don't cause video
• 18:35
  games such a different medium than shows.
• 18:38
  I feel like I mean it, there's similarities to some extent, but
• 18:43
  people who play games typically play like a game pretty die hard
• 18:49
  for a time period, beat it, move on to the next thing or the, you
• 18:52
  know, there you do have some of the people that bounce around a
• 18:55
  lot. I know both of us bounce around
• 18:57
  quite a bit. But yeah, I just, I don't know,
• 19:01
  I don't know if the episodic type of release for a video game
• 19:06
  works exceptionally well. Personally, I think it's a.

  Weird thing. It is.

  I just want it all. Like that's, that's the thing I,

  I like, I get it. I, and I understood their reason
• 19:17
  for it because they explained why too.

  And, and I guess I am happy at the fact that it's a little

  different than I get 2 episodes and not just one and you're

  dragging it out for eight weeks or whatever, right?

  Like that is nice. However, it, it is one of those

  things where it's is, it is a different medium.

  And you could totally just do one of those like Amazon drops
• 19:35
  where hey, whole season's here, have fun.

  And I don't know, I think I think they would.

  I honestly think they probably would have had more sales if
• 19:46
  they had done that because you would have pulled the trigger on

  it at that point because you need to play all of it like.

  If they can keep their game on the front page of Steam for the

  next month until all of the episodes are out, because I
• 19:58
  believe they're all supposed to be out by November 14th or
• 20:01
  something like that. Yeah, because it would be two
• 20:04
  next week to the week after that and then two week after that and
• 20:07
  it's done. So that would be.

  If if they can keep their game on the front page of steam for

  for essentially a month right? I think they will get a huge

  increase in purchases come that final release date.

  I honestly think they do I, I maybe even on the third set of

  releases where like the that third week of it, I, I could see

  a, a pretty big increase 'cause people would be like, Oh well,

  I'll start playing through it and then it'll be easy to just

  finish it up here or whatever. Right.

  That also gives them time to build some I I I don't hate it

  but it doesn't work for me personally.

  Every everything I've seen about it has been nothing but good
