- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: Of three hours per carry, they just reviewed.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: The Miami Dolphins lost up against the Minnesota Vikings.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Alph 15 to 10, the Dolphins defense gave up a whole lot of fuel goals.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the film was not really what I expected because they did extend a lot of drives and extending those drives led to the what was a 37 snaps that Miami had on offense or was a
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I expected to see some breakdowns on first down that led to shorter second down that led to third down conversions.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't really what I saw.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a different style was pretty well connected.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: I thought they played really well in this game.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: I thought they played as designed to be honest with you and I understand PFF for whatever reason decided to
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what they saw, but they saw that Zaxi that wasn't very good.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: What I saw, let me tell you something about peanut butter.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I will say this as someone from on the analytics side of things, okay?
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: Don't pay attention to the grades, please, for the love of God.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Don't pay attention to the grade.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: Pay attention to what was charted in terms of pressure, where the runs went, what coverage a person was in as well.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: Because I can guarantee you, those are most likely, right?
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: In terms of the grades,
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: mostly opinion based on what they see as the scheme, with the play should have been, what the coverage should have been, what the assignment should have been, but each play is completely different.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll leave it at that.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: If someone from PFF wants to slam me for it, go ahead.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: I've done my research.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I do my own charting in analytics.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll leave it at that.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: What I saw was, Zach Sealer, I was best, his best game of the season.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I saw a guy that pretty much dominated from start to finish, pretty much.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was just awesome.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: Very close second, of course, you know, Jacob Rodriguez was really good.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: But I thought the play of the cornerbacks, both of them, Jason Marshall, and even Chris Johnson as a nickel.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: Edison and John Jennings, like, that's a pretty decent group, and when they get just in Jefferson back, there really should be no excuses for that offense to be
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: at least middle of the pack and not worse than the NFL, right?
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: So, I thought that they did a really, really nice job and then I could just hear listeners thinking, yeah, but what about Hopkins and we're like, well buddy, you can't stop everything, okay?
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like you can.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: You have to devote coverage somewhere and they just don't have right now the personnel to devote to a tie-in by himself.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: They got, they just don't have that.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: They got to held up big time in man coverage, so they let.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think what Jeff Haffley saw throughout the game period was that both Jordan Brooks and Jordan and Jacob Rodriguez were doing pretty fun.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, okay, let me see if I can leave them on an island towards the end and see if they can make plays.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: They got hold in that one, right?
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: On those TJ Hawkins in place, what I saw was that there were two cover six reps, two man-covered reps, and one cover two reps.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, especially on those third downs that he converted,
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: which were all five for five.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: He kind of mixed it up and he kind of knew that the pressure was getting there.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: And he wanted that pressure to be on Kylie Murray, right?
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: Okay?
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: The past pressure was showing up 18 pressure drop-backs that I saw.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: Other companies in analytics companies say it was 20 pressures, 19 pressures.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: PFF shows 20, I had it at 18 of those pressures, okay.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: When Calamari was pressured, he averaged a negative 0.41 EPA with 2.6 yards of plate.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: Somehow, Kevin O'Connor, I just had Kyler Murray played his game.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, TJ Hawkins in plays like Trauma Gride.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: Let me just do what I'm familiar with, and he did it, right?
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, nothing was working in the passing game throughout the game, and somehow the flip switched for Minnesota, and for Kyler Murray, TJ Hawkins in.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: The dolphins at the end could not necessarily do something.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: Cover six, you know, TD Hawkins in one, four for 30.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it's cover one, three catches for four yards as well.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: Cover four, two for 25.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it's cover three, two for 14.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Again, it's cover two, it was one for two.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, he had big catches of 22 yards, five yards, eight yards, and it came in the final three minutes.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that was pretty much the icing on the cake.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: right then there there is nothing else that they could do because they were not trying to give up anything deep.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: So Jordan, Madison, or Joann Jennings pretty much Jeff Hathley and the defense accepted.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: It will be death by paper now.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and, you know, they relied, like, look, that's fine if you rely on time of possession on the offensive side that Dolphin just couldn't sustain drives, they couldn't stay on the field.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: And that was probably, you know, they're probably, but even then, you know, like if you step away and you get the 30,000, you know, feet view of the entire game.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: like there were essentially a total of what two and a quarter inches away from winning this game.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, all the Gordon was the office, right?
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: Nine carries under yards.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: The wasn't for the finger nail.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about almost a 200-year date for all of you, right?
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: I mean,
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: Just to take away for him, right, is like just those big place, sprung things and then talk about the Chris spell, right, getting out of balance.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's a rookie.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't really have a lot of training camp practice.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's still trying to find the group of things.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, it's kind of excruciating the painful now.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: At least the last three weeks, some mistakes he's made has taken off.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: A big play or a touchdown.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like he needs to be locked the F, right?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like he needs to be locked in.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: The other caveat is, and, of course, Kaufman talked about it, I saw it in my data polls, Malik Willis, and Bobby Slick were cooking on third-down.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: Then they came into Brian Flores where they were two for nine on third-down.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: First down actually work this game.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: I guess the Minnesota Vikings compared to the last three games both in the run game and the passing game.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Second down third down just problems everywhere this game the last three games second down and third down not problem.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: Okay second down was man the last three games third down and not a problem for money.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Flores countered it with a lot of man pressures, zero looks, cover one man.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: He had double mug pressures coming up as well.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Dallas, he put Dallas Turner on Austin Jackson multiple times.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: He knew who Austin Jackson was.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: He knew he could beat him one on one very, very easily.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: And I was kind of shocked.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Bobby Slookes said that he needed to put help with awesome jacks and after the 49ers game he did that up against, you know, the chiefs to help him out didn't do that in this blanking scheme, that much.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like, where was the disconnect hue?
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: No, what kind of past pressures you have?
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: Should give some type of help.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then just the last third down play that we also have in Coleman Jr. result, right?
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I analyzed that play.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: Kyle Krabs analyzed that play.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: I saw it immediately, yes Kevin Coleman was open.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: But he got to take a look at the blood structure, right?
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: Hot wise, yes, Kevin Coleman was there.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: But in terms of Malik Willis, where he was trying to throw the ball, I get why he threw it to Chris Bell, just his footwork was shot.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: The pocket death.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he needs to get a little bit vertical in the pocket man.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's scrambling, he's running around like he's back.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: at Liberty and Tennessee.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: You've been in the league for four years.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: Matt LaFlor has already coached you.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: Green Bay has coached you.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: Tennessee has coached you multiple times.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: So has Bobby slowly cured in Miami.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta get vertical a little bit.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: If your pocket death is eight nine ten yards, you're straining Austin Jackson and Patrick Paul already.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's not helping you.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then you're throwing left or back foot.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is a recipe for disaster.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: If this continues
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'll say something about that play that 38, where Kevin Coleman was open, okay, if the, if the primary structure, if you're reading, remember, he's on the left hash, okay, if you're reading the, the, the shape and the structure of the Viking secondary, that something you can always count on with Brian Flores, mostly on third down when he can give you those zero looks because sometimes he's not really going to send zero.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: like everybody's like oh he's he's a madman throwing blitz that yeah that was in zero that was not zero that was not zero they had a short zone defender okay
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: Now, but when you see that structure, the structure is always the same when you're two by two.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: When you're three by one, it's a little bit different.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: When you're three by one, you force one of their cornerbacks to roll up into the flat.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: Especially field side.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: If you have your three on the field side, against that look, right?
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't the case in this case.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: In this case, they had that same look.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: for zero so they wanted to make it look like zero.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: Ideally if you want and I've seen a lot of Vikings, I've seen a lot of Vikings defensive tape because that's one thing I do admire about Bryan Flores.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you've ever seen his Cauchy.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: His Cauchy is the size of this I'll show this big.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's literally this big.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's something like this.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know I mean and if you want to say like this is him, like this is him calling plays.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's like a little, it's like a little breakfast menu.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's like an extended post didn't know that's pretty much part of this is like a post didn't know.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's one thing I love about his system.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: But watching his system, there's rules and the rules are dictated by formation, okay?
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: Especially on third down, he wants to send five, like that's his idea.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: His pressure, like everybody, it looks at him like, oh my god, he's, you know, he's the mad bomber here.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: No, he runs a very simple pressure, five defense.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: There is no difference between what he runs and what differential ran here, except the big fanger wouldn't send the five, right?
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to send four.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: But he wants to always make it look like five are on the way, okay?
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: So, here's the thing on that Kevin Coleman play.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: If Willis is reading the shape, he can throw it, and I understand that Chris Coffman disagrees with me, and some people disagree with me as well.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think you could throw a blind to that flat.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: You can't.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I understand that the corner on that side could be reading both guys.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: He could be reading the flat and could be carrying.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but if the bulk gets there right on time, right?
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like he might just be like, yeah, then it's hard.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's common.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of common versus a corner back one on one.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: If you shake him, you have a first down.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: You're on me.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: But you don't shut your cap, that's pretty much it.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you don't shake them, it's probably a six-yard game, you know, and now you have fourth and two.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: And you go for it.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I think you go for it in that instance.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, man, it's a rough one, but it's only rough made by by Bobby Slower's decision.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: to call the play that he did, okay, and the formation that he did, because for years now, there was a guy and look, Floor's got him in a Super Bowl, okay, but there was a guy who just kept getting his brains beat in consistently by Bryan Floors.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now, Sean McPhay, and one of those games was actually here in Miami, and it was Bryan Floors' dolphins in two of his first start,
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: against stomach phase rams and you know that was a good rams team they were coming off of a Super Bowl okay and dolphin defensive beat their brains in because stomach day didn't know how to handle that.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: Schummig va something happened like a year after that where he decided I got to go to school on this.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: because this is going to be something that everybody's just going to beat my brain thing with.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: And he started when he got madstaffed, he decided, look, this is what we're going to do.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: Anytime that they give us these looks, especially Minnesota, we're going to run the same shit at them.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to run flood concepts.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have a flat, we're going to go 3 by 1 and we're going to have the 3 go to the flat, the 2 run the corner and the 1 run a dick.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: and we're going to do that over and over.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: We're just going to spam it.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: And Matt Staffer could just depending on where leverage is.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm throwing the flat.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm throwing the dig.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm throwing the corner.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: And it's the same read over and over and over again.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: So one field read.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: And in zero, that's what it has to be.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: I was shocked that Bobby slow it had an entire week to get ready for for Brian Flores.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: And he didn't have a plan.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I don't think he had a plan.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he had it in the run game.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: He had it in the run game.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: It was working in the run game, but not the passing game.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I was I was pretty disappointed in that.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_01]: I was pretty disappointed in that.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't have a plan for for Brian Flores as zero looks, especially on third down.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm third down.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: Come to a plan.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: There are certain teams and I think Detroit was one that they talked about a couple of years ago.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: What's the common denominator?
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's Shamic Van.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's Ben Johnson.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably the two best offensive minds in football.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: And it almost looked like Detroit was trying to get into 35 and 38.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: so they could run all their concepts against Brian Forrest's defense to the point where and I remember this was a game like two years ago and I remember to the point where Brian Forrest was like, I'm not for this shit.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not doing this anymore.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to send five on a plate coverage against Detroit and he backed off.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: You made him back off based on your play call and it was about being aggressive.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: Then again, you know, you're talking about staff
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: But I would have thought that slow-wake were the weak to prepare, would have come up with something more interesting than what he did.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: And he did it.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: So, in the long list of things I was disappointed with on the offense, he's right there.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: Bobby Slug was right there for this game.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're going to talk about what the dolphins can do to be the Cincinnati Bengals.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: But first, it were from our sponsors.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're back.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_00]: If you were watching this on YouTube, very quick, a little break.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: If you were listening to this, the Red Circle Apple Spotify.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: You had a little bit of a break and a nice message from our sponsor.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: So look, the bangles come into and to having lost two straight, Joe Burrow putting up big numbers in a loss, Jamar Chase banged up, T-higgins banged up.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I have T-higgins and Devon Hane, both in my fantasy.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: So I hope T-higgins plays, but for the Dolphin's sake, we'll see.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Andre Yoshibas and Dante Myers.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Those statuses, they should be playing already for that.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what the bingles do, well guys, okay, they throw it and they throw it a little lot.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, Joe Burrell, fifth most passing yards in the league, seventh passing touchdown, lives on Burrell, lives on Chase, Myers, and Mike Giseki, with fire receiving touchdowns over the last games.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: Dolphin script tonight, receiving tight hands, rockbowers, TDHockens, and Mike Giseki, right there.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: And on defense,
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: their past rush as well.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_00]: I remember Ethan Skolnik, beginning of the scene and said, oh, the bangles, there are differences, not that golden.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: I had to stop and write in his tracks.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: I said, no.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: got Dexter Lawrence like it's going to be it's going to be a good battle for Cainer Proctor and Jonas Savaya not to go up against Dexter Lawrence in that one.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, seventh and quarterback pressure rate through three games.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, Muffie has 18 pressure, seventh in the league.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: Brian and Phil's next gen stats.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: Cashish Howell.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: He had 11 pressures.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: Dexter Lawrence 12 through three games and they had three
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: So guys, this is a revamped defense.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: I like the way they play and, you know, they're a bit different, like they're a bit different than what they have been under lieu and a rumo, they play a lot of man and they send a lot of blitzes, timely blitzes, especially on third to him, they would disguise a lot of their rushes and they did a lot with a lot less, you know, they did more with both less,
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: And this is a little bit different.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm interested in is, without Higgins without Jamar Chase.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: And Higgins is the one that I'm monitoring.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see how there's any chance whatsoever for Jamar Chase to play.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I just can't run it either dude.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: They've got 300 rushing bars, the second few is in the... Yeah, I kind of expected Chase Brown to be good this year and he hasn't been.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: So what kind of team will they be then?
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: Not only that.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have those safety outlets, so it's, you know, he took two zacks up against Jacksonville.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: Nine other hits on 54 attempts.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: The line improved in pass protection, but the hits are still showing up, right?
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: And...
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: Look guys, sacks are a quarterback stack.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, Joel Burrow does take a lot of sacks.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: And at least 40% of the sacks are on him.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I talked about this on on our discord.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: Only fence, Joe Burrow is an elite quarterback.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's really, really good, but he has two in the age or major for us.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: Number one, he's injury prone, which he's always been injury prone.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's coming into the year, he had as many misgames as to what's on gobalo.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, I think he had missed two more games than to what's on gobalo.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: But he's an elite quarterback.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's a, you know, that's just built in.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: That comes with the factory setting.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's injury prone, right?
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: his other problem is I don't think there's a quarterback in this league that takes more bad sex than Joe Borough and it was evident in last week's game as well like I don't know why he would take as many bad sex but he seems like maybe he gets clutter or he sees color and he's afraid of turning it over so he'll just eat it and including the the week before when he lost the game on a on a
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: like you can almost see like he feels a little bit uncomfortable and he starts leaving the pocket when he can hold the football and wait for people to uncover so this is gonna be if there's ever a game for them to replicate what they just did in Minnesota this is the game they got a rush with four right the pressure has worked in all season if they can get pressure
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: with 4, right?
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: A negative 0.046 EPA versus a plus 0.5 through when clean rushing 4.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: Okay?
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: Blitz say hasn't worked out either.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: Even when they blitz, they still can't get home.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: They can't get that pressure and it's not a good look, especially when they blitz.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: Chop Robinson is back.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: Zack Sealer looks much better compared to the beginning of the season.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Huche is coming on to it.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: They got home four times against Minnesota without a blitz.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, now they're going to have to force them to pass and pass hard.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like their run defense.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: My misrun defense is really good, but if the run game is non-existent, they're going to continue to pass it.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, and the coverage data is clear.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: It shows you got to play four.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: You got to play QQH.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: You got to play quarter quarter half.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: I got to show, bro.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, cover three maybe you're back up, but that's risking it a little bit too, because then you have micoseckey in the flats.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to leave a guy like Willie Gay or even Jacob Rodriguez, you know, in that vicinity with micoseckey.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: So you're going to have to play two high safety for this.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you got to understand how Cincinnati plays, especially on offense, above all else.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like, a lot of teams have a progression system, progression system, where, you know, you're going, you know, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, and that's it, ball has to be gone.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: Joe Burrow, you know, breaks the huddle knowing where everybody's going to be, and he kind of predetermined where he's going based on the coverage.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: you know, and it's not really a guessing game.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: I imagine if it's a guessing game, magic playing blackjack in the casino, but you could see the whole card from the from the the casino from the dealer.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: You're already starting off with a pretty huge advantage.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's how he plays chord record.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: So he's playing with a huge advantage because he understands the coverages and where they're going.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not that he's really good at reading coverages.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_01]: He's good at understanding coverages is what he's good at.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: So he knows where his guys are at.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: Now, what gives me a little bit of hope is if tomorrow chaste and tea higgins are not on the field.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: Then, he don't longer has those security blankets, where when all else fails, I know where Jamart Chase is going to be, and that's where I'm going with the football, right?
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: Or, if all else fails, if I'm reading pre-snap, and I like, man, these guys are, they're devoting like three guys on Jamart Chase, then, fuck it, if things look a little hairy, I'm going to see Higgins here.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so that's the way he plays without those two guys.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see how he'll play in that regard.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: And if he just gets into his shell and starts checking down or looking for Gosecchi off the play action.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_01]: And now that's the case, the game could actually be tight in the fourth quarter.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: And it'll be a similar one against Minnesota, right?
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: And this is what needs to happen.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think Bobby Sloughick needs to continue to roll the ball with all the Gordon-like his run concepts.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: We're actually pretty good.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: Had it not been for a couple of miscues by Gordon.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: It would have been a career day for it.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, first down was really really good and they're gonna have to be really good up against Cincinnati because they're past rate rush to the strength So they need to stay out of second and long and third and long and have all the Gordon carry the load I also think they need mleekless needs to feed mleek wash and then have design passplice
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that second option has to be a guy like Greg dosage because in Los Lundbackers also can't color tie that so you have Titan leaks with dosage and cast merit That's three four five yards automatically If you're in a second along situation Or even first and ten like if you want to catch them on guard Have you tied a leak go out to the flat get four five yards and you're fine right there
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: And again, they've had a control of the time and possession here.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: They have to control the time and possession in this game.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: In your home, the home crowd is going to feed you into this as well.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: And they play decently up against the cheaps at home.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think they can do it again.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_00]: But again, it's dependent.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: If he has cheaps, if he has higgins, it's a completely different game.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: All right, yeah.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_00]: and we're talking about college ball.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're here at Whosom's Hot Shorts.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I want to ask you, have you heard of Lance Hurd, out of Kentucky?
- 25:37[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard the name, yes.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_00]: Six, six, three hundred twenty five pound senior at Kentucky.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: He was a five star in a twenty twenty three class, right?
- 25:48[SPEAKER_00]: He was one of the top two tackles in it as they see all freshmen.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: How else you had?
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: How else you?
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, try and spread a tendency in twenty twenty four.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: It was a highest rate of tackle in the portal and started every game at left tackle there and then Kentucky this year.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I think was it might have been lens or lean or something like that, but someone called him the most.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: The offensive tackle with the most powerful and violent hands in this class, okay?
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't need a clean bow and pass protection.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of like Patrick Point doesn't need a clean blow.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_00]: He has those long arms.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_00]: He has the frame.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: He's a bulldozer in the run, man.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: And if you can switch him over to the right side,
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's your Austin Jackson replacement, right?
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: He played left tackle in college.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: He has that starting upside at tackle record.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, you could potentially make that switch for him.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think that it's a priority, right, in the off season.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: Because now we are soon for a very long time.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, Kate and Proctor will be the right tackle, and then
- 26:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we're just organically growing a left guard out of somewhere.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's DJ Campbell, maybe spend a few free agent dollars, maybe they use a day-to-draft pick on a left guard.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, after the season he's had, and we're in, we're a quarter of the way in, okay?
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: So, a quarter of the games are gone.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: A quarter of the way in, I think we're working on it.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to get too ahead of myself because,
- 27:23[SPEAKER_01]: I got almost guaranteed.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: We have a star in Jacob Rodriguez.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's happening.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very optimistic on Chris Johnson after two weeks.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: Candle Douglas, Chris Bell, wait and see.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like the Candle Douglas has been out these weeks, right?
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: But Caden Proctor, has that look of a guy?
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: who could be upper echelon as a guard in this leak.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: And who knows, you know, maybe that's something that's gonna happen, like maybe they're just gonna say, well, we can't move them.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we can't move him because we already have something here.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like, create a hole and then maybe have them, either try to change their position, relearn, and stuff like that.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: That's where Lance heard comes in, right?
- 28:11[SPEAKER_00]: Variety knows how to play tackle.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_00]: The only concern is, he doesn't have that big of a range of past protection and can get a little bit hit.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_00]: He kind of like how Patrick Paul was, right?
- 28:19[SPEAKER_00]: Well, his range is anyway between the first round and the third round.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: And it depends on how they rest of the league.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_00]: evaluates him.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_00]: And the second guy, it also depends on how the rest of the league evaluation training at Chambers, okay?
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of concerns with his size and his age.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_00]: He's six foot and he's going to be 25 as a rookie.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: The dolphins pretty much have a 27 year old rookie quarterback, right?
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: His touch and finesse needs work, but this season man, he's been playing really
- 28:49[SPEAKER_00]: really good.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_00]: Compact, quick release, his arm for his size is explosive.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's had that processing and kiffin system he has a year again at Ole Miss under Pete Golding as well.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: And he's had that poison those clutch moments as well.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_00]: You talk about that game of against LSU man, very emotional game.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: He was ready for it.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, it's a priority and look, their first round pick, I don't think there's going to be a tackle.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: I've gone over this every way, okay?
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: There's the possibility of a, of a, of a love tackle, making the top five.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think Goldsby's could be in the top 12, the 15.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't foresee them using that pick on a tackle, but I think they got to be looking to replace Austin Jackson.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_01]: Especially if this is going to be their style of play.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I've already seen the free agent list.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: There's nothing out there in free agency.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think a free agency, what there is, is there's going to be secondary help?
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be edge help.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: There's not going to be a right tackle.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's going to be the priority just the offensive line and even quarterback if they decide to do that in the second or third round with guys like Lance Hurt and Trader at Champions.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: All right, that's it here for scouting the Finns stick with us here on the Thur edge prepared podcast feed also part of the five recent sports network as always, Finns up.
