Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: It's media podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to Meat Eater Trivia, the only game show where
- 0:12Speaker 2: conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer Newhart, and today
- 0:16Speaker 2: we're joined by Randall, Hansi, Alex Roman and Chili. This
- 0:21Speaker 2: is a ten round quiz show with questions from meat
- 0:23Speaker 2: eaters four verticals which are hunting, fishing, conservation, and cooking.
- 0:27Speaker 2: And there is a prize. Mediater will donate five hundred
- 0:29Speaker 2: dollars to the conservation organization of the winners choosing. Now,
- 0:33Speaker 2: today it is Randall versus Jabbroni's. That means it'll be
- 0:37Speaker 2: the big bad Randall going up against the collective brains
- 0:41Speaker 2: of Hansi, Alex Roman and Chili. Now, Randall, we've done
- 0:45Speaker 2: this in the past. You once went up against six
- 0:48Speaker 2: Jabbronis and lost. You went up against three Jabbronis and one.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Today we're throwing four of our best Jabroni's at you.
- 0:56Speaker 2: How do you feel about your chances?
- 0:59Speaker 3: You know, I feel pretty good.
- 1:01Speaker 4: I I always feel pretty good coming in here. Uh,
- 1:05Speaker 4: it's less exciting when it's a Jibbroni game, just because
- 1:08Speaker 4: I feel like the deck the deck is stacked against me.
- 1:12Speaker 4: But less exciting then, yeah, I just you know, I'd
- 1:16Speaker 4: like to just play the old fashioned way.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Mano imano, imano, imano, imano. But uh, why don't we
- 1:23Speaker 3: get on with it?
- 1:26Speaker 2: How do you guys think you're gonna do? Can you
- 1:28Speaker 2: beat Randall?
- 1:30Speaker 3: I think we could do it.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think Ryandall's pretty easy.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Get under her skin a little bit.
- 1:35Speaker 3: You just have to get one question wrong that he
- 1:37Speaker 3: should have got right, and then it's all.
- 1:39Speaker 4: See Chili, the problem is if the questions are easy
- 1:42Speaker 4: enough for you to get right.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I'll get them right to Chili wanted to come out
- 1:55Speaker 3: swinging and get into my head, and I just got.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Turned to who is going to be your captain? To
- 2:02Speaker 2: Brownie's Alex, You've got the whiteboard in front of you.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Is it?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Is it you? I thinks.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I don't know about captain for sure.
- 2:10Speaker 2: How this game will work is when I ask question,
- 2:13Speaker 2: Randall will come up with his answer first. He will
- 2:15Speaker 2: then lock it in. He'll put his whiteboard down, it
- 2:17Speaker 2: will not change, and then you forge Brownie's will have
- 2:20Speaker 2: your chance to discuss allowed what you think it could be?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Got it all right? For the stat of the Week,
- 2:28Speaker 2: this week, we're looking at the number five that's how
- 2:30Speaker 2: many months it's been since I last forgot to do
- 2:33Speaker 2: a correct answer review. At the end of the show,
- 2:35Speaker 2: profession you don't recall, I implemented a fine back in
- 2:39Speaker 2: June where I join a conservation group for every time
- 2:42Speaker 2: I forgot to do the correct answer review going forward,
- 2:45Speaker 2: and ever since then, I've yet to miss one. This
- 2:48Speaker 2: development has been good for our listeners, but banned for conservation.
- 2:52Speaker 2: So it's working all right. No housekeeping today, so we
- 2:55Speaker 2: can get to the trivia now. The Shelby Index for
- 2:57Speaker 2: this episode is a five, so I'm putting as a
- 3:00Speaker 2: perfect score two and with that we're onto the game
- 3:03Speaker 2: of trivia. Play the drop fill. Look, I need to
- 3:09Speaker 2: know what I stand and win everything.
- 3:12Speaker 1: How's it just tend to win everything?
- 3:22Speaker 2: Game on Suckers. Randall also in an unfamiliar chair today,
- 3:27Speaker 2: we'll see how this affects his gameplay.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Phil Am I still in the shot here, just barely.
- 3:31Speaker 5: I'd say you're good.
- 3:32Speaker 3: I'm a visual learner.
- 3:33Speaker 4: I I'd like to see the monitor, but I also
- 3:36Speaker 4: can't show any of these jibbronis my answers, so I'm
- 3:39Speaker 4: very tricky.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Question one. The topic is conservation, and as always This
- 3:43Speaker 2: will be multiple choice. Doug Bergham, the current Secretary of
- 3:48Speaker 2: the Interior is the former governor of this state. Is
- 3:52Speaker 2: it New Mexico, Indiana, Georgia or North Dakota. Randall already
- 3:59Speaker 2: has his answer. Didn't even need the choices, So Jabebroni's,
- 4:03Speaker 2: you can now, Yeah, it's right you you talk aloud.
- 4:06Speaker 2: What you think could be? Doug Burgham, the current Secretary
- 4:09Speaker 2: of the Interior is the former governor of this New Mexico, Indiana, Georgia,
- 4:15Speaker 2: North Dakota. What do we think to Broni's.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Positive, I just wanted to Oh no, then that's great.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Positive. What do you think it is?
- 4:25Speaker 1: North Dakota?
- 4:25Speaker 2: Okay? And no one is putting up a fight.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Does anybody have any that?
- 4:31Speaker 6: That was my guess.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Three of the four Jabroni's are thinking North Dakota. Doug Burgham,
- 4:40Speaker 2: the current Secretary of the Interior, is the former governor
- 4:44Speaker 2: of this state. Is it New Mexico, Indiana, Georgia or
- 4:49Speaker 2: North Dakota.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Final answer, guys, final answer.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have the Jabroni's
- 4:55Speaker 2: and Randall saying North Dakota. They got it. The correct
- 4:58Speaker 2: answer is North Dakota Burgo North, Dakota's governor from twenty
- 5:03Speaker 2: sixteen to twenty twenty four. He launched a presidential campaign
- 5:07Speaker 2: in twenty twenty three, but withdrew a few months later
- 5:10Speaker 2: to become Donald Trump's advisor on energy policy. As the
- 5:14Speaker 2: fifty fifth Secretary of the Interior, he oversees the management
- 5:18Speaker 2: of four hundred and eighty million acres of public land
- 5:21Speaker 2: and seventy thousand federal employees. Question two, the topic is cooking.
- 5:25Speaker 2: This next great question is via Leland Hart. This seven
- 5:29Speaker 2: letter word is defined as quote, a Japanese delicacy consisting
- 5:34Speaker 2: of fresh raw fish or meat sliced into thin pieces
- 5:39Speaker 2: and often eaten with soy sauce. Randall already locked in
- 5:43Speaker 2: his answer again, so Jabroni's you can now discuss what
- 5:47Speaker 2: you THINKI sashimi. Yeah, this seven letter word, I am.
- 5:54Speaker 1: I I believe.
- 5:56Speaker 2: A Japanese delicacy consisting of fresh raw or meat sliced
- 6:01Speaker 2: into thin pieces, often eaten with soy sauce.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Roman, did you have something to add?
- 6:06Speaker 7: I was just gonna. I was just gonna say thank
- 6:08Speaker 7: you Spencer for picking this guy's question, because I see
- 6:11Speaker 7: them on radio lives so often.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Great contributor friend of the program Trivia and Radio. It's
- 6:18Speaker 2: everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. Randall says
- 6:22Speaker 2: sashimi Jabbroni's say sashimi. The correct answer is sashimi. Sashimi
- 6:28Speaker 2: is most commonly seafood, but is sometimes a type of
- 6:32Speaker 2: red meat. According to a Japanese food guide, it's the
- 6:35Speaker 2: diner's responsibility to fill their personal dish with soy sauce,
- 6:39Speaker 2: and its good manners to only pour as much as
- 6:41Speaker 2: you need. Sashimi is also occasionally served with wasabi or
- 6:45Speaker 2: ground ginger. Any strong takes on sashimi in here love sashimi?
- 6:50Speaker 2: Hmm as what?
- 6:51Speaker 6: But I don't think it should be dipped necessarily. I
- 6:54Speaker 6: think I've come to understanding that like a slight wipe
- 6:58Speaker 6: with soy sauce is do you accomplish it? It's a
- 7:01Speaker 6: nice way to go so you don't overdo the fish.
- 7:02Speaker 6: You want to taste the fish.
- 7:04Speaker 2: How do you do a wipe of soy sauce?
- 7:06Speaker 6: You could like just take your finger and dunk it in.
- 7:08Speaker 6: And that's what I see the almost the like sushi
- 7:12Speaker 6: counter guys to the chefs, So I figure out'll just
- 7:14Speaker 6: copy them.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I trust you, HANSI, I don't know.
- 7:16Speaker 6: That seems like just copy till I win right.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Has anyone done with Benison Bennison's sushimi? No?
- 7:23Speaker 3: No, we do tartur Mmm, we're doing raw?
- 7:30Speaker 2: Okay? Question three? The topic is wildlife Real estate agent
- 7:36Speaker 2: Kathy Peas on the hand of registered nurse John after
- 7:40Speaker 2: he gets stung by a sea urchin in a two
- 7:42Speaker 2: thousand and two episode of this show. HANSI, this is
- 7:49Speaker 2: question three. The topic is wildlife feel estate agent camp
- 7:54Speaker 2: Peas on the hand of registered nurse John after he
- 7:57Speaker 2: gets stung by a sea urchin in a two thousand
- 8:00Speaker 2: and two episodes of this show. Randall, is your answer?
- 8:03Speaker 2: Locked in?
- 8:05Speaker 3: Is my board on the table?
- 8:06Speaker 2: Okay? Jae Broni's what do you think it could be?
- 8:10Speaker 2: We have a confident randal over here?
- 8:12Speaker 3: Not really, I just have an answer.
- 8:14Speaker 5: The podcast audience doesn't know unless you slam it down
- 8:17Speaker 5: Brodie style.
- 8:18Speaker 8: The hand is a I just a guess, but it wasn't.
- 8:24Speaker 8: Bay watched out then I'm just connecting the dots. Sea
- 8:27Speaker 8: urchin pissing on somebody. I don't think it's they watch
- 8:31Speaker 8: still lifeguards.
- 8:33Speaker 3: The sea urchin isn't pissing. Can we use that?
- 8:38Speaker 1: I guess yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Real estate agent Kathy Peas on the hand of registered
- 8:44Speaker 2: nurse John after he gets stung by a sea urchin
- 8:47Speaker 2: in a two thousand and two episode of this show.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah, to use Peas in the question probably stick to that.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Is it a doctor show, no impact, no idea. I
- 9:00Speaker 1: can't believe Randall knowses.
- 9:02Speaker 6: I feel like it's a reality TV.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I'm going to be entertained to watch Randall's face As
- 9:06Speaker 2: you guys discussed maybe Survivor over here.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I think it might be Survivor, survivor Naked Afraid. I'm
- 9:16Speaker 1: gonna Survivors.
- 9:18Speaker 7: What is taking afraid? Survivor Survivor's older right, Yeah, that's
- 9:23Speaker 7: what I hear, second version of that later film.
- 9:27Speaker 5: No, I think it'll become problematic.
- 9:29Speaker 4: I think they always like yeah, they always like refer
- 9:31Speaker 4: to like the contestants as like real.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Estate agent or job. Yeah, sure, yeah, go survivor again.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Question three. Real estate agent Kathy Peas on the hange,
- 9:40Speaker 2: making nervous, Nurse John making nervous and get stung by
- 9:44Speaker 2: a sea urchin in a two thousand and two episode
- 9:46Speaker 2: of this show. Is everybody ready.
- 9:48Speaker 3: It doesn't make me nervous. It disappoints me.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Does go ahead and reveal your answers to you? Bronis,
- 9:54Speaker 2: say survivor. Randall says Survivor. The correct answer is survi.
- 10:01Speaker 2: You guys got it.
- 10:02Speaker 4: I was hoping you were gonna go down the medical
- 10:04Speaker 4: route and end up at House MD.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Uh.
- 10:10Speaker 2: The sea urchin sting happens in season four while John
- 10:13Speaker 2: is spearfishing in French Polynesia. He complains of intense pain
- 10:17Speaker 2: and begs his fellow survivors to pee on him. Pascal
- 10:20Speaker 2: tries first, but is unable to muster any urine. Then
- 10:23Speaker 2: Kathy splashes into action and squats over John's arm. John
- 10:27Speaker 2: feels immediate relief and declares the wound healed. However, Scientific
- 10:31Speaker 2: American Magazine says that urine's healing powers on animal stings
- 10:35Speaker 2: is just a myth. Here is that clip from Survival.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I need somebody who's cast a pee. I need somebody
- 10:44Speaker 2: who can.
- 10:48Speaker 7: I'm looking at that guy.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Pascal went out to try to pee.
- 10:54Speaker 3: He did that performance and anxiety thing I've heard, so
- 10:58Speaker 3: it just.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Was a good telling that I had after it was
- 11:00Speaker 2: as gross, But I don't care. Any can.
- 11:04Speaker 9: Okay, okay, I mean that could have been like peroxide.
- 11:11Speaker 9: As far as I'm concerned, I didn't even think of
- 11:13Speaker 9: its being weird that she was squatting down and I
- 11:15Speaker 9: had my hand between her legs.
- 11:16Speaker 1: You got to go to the bathroom.
- 11:19Speaker 2: I mean it was like, do what it takes to
- 11:21Speaker 2: make it feel good.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I don't care what you have to do.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Finally, when I think I was pulling up my pants,
- 11:26Speaker 2: I suddenly got very amused.
- 11:29Speaker 5: But it made me feel good.
- 11:30Speaker 2: At least I perform in the call of duty. Saved
- 11:34Speaker 2: his life. Huh you military boys, do you ever learn
- 11:36Speaker 2: anything about pie and on wounds? They say, do it,
- 11:39Speaker 2: don't do it, don't address it. Nothing for listeners. Okay.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Question for.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Anybody pulled the fakes urchin sting trick.
- 11:58Speaker 8: Did have somebody pissing my cantan early in my Contract's
- 12:06Speaker 8: just standard, that's just good fun.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Maybe we need to consider that registered nurse John was
- 12:14Speaker 2: just a pervert.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Question for the topic is hunting. Elpo began, Dental Life,
- 12:20Speaker 2: Busy Bone, and dog Chow are all owned by this company.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Randall with another quick answer. Elpo began Dental Life, Busy Bone,
- 12:32Speaker 2: and Dog chow are all owned by this company. Now
- 12:36Speaker 2: Randal still has the whiteboard in his hands, so don't
- 12:39Speaker 2: say anything quite yet. Jabroni's okay, he's he's locked in
- 12:46Speaker 2: his answer. Jabroni's what do we think it could be?
- 12:49Speaker 6: So well Began, It's like Began's like the Began strips
- 12:53Speaker 6: right with the old dog and the bacon.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it's pretty much the shittiest dog food on this list.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Say that, but Purina, I'm just thinking about Puria.
- 13:03Speaker 6: I just it doesn't seem like I can connect any
- 13:06Speaker 6: of these two.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Purina. Purina in my head and.
- 13:09Speaker 6: A dog milk bone. I mean, is that like a
- 13:12Speaker 6: that's a name brand or are they just treats.
- 13:15Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Elpo began dental life, busy bone, and.
- 13:20Speaker 6: Purina is just food and alco is food, and so
- 13:24Speaker 6: I don't know if they would they have competing.
- 13:27Speaker 8: I don't think a Purana is like top tiered dog food.
- 13:29Speaker 8: And that's what I think of when I look at
- 13:32Speaker 8: those worlds, like.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Anywhere, maybe milk bone, milk phone.
- 13:40Speaker 7: It's gott an average Joe sound to it, milk bone.
- 13:43Speaker 6: But then you got busy Bone too.
- 13:44Speaker 2: It's like, is that hansy owns a dog Chili, do
- 13:47Speaker 2: you own a dog? Negative? Alex owns a dog?
- 13:50Speaker 3: Roman?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Do you own a dog?
- 13:51Speaker 1: Okay?
- 13:51Speaker 2: Two out of the forge of bro This Busy.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Bone, one of the Bone Thugs a Harmony Yeah, Bone Harmony, Yeah,
- 14:01Speaker 3: Cleveland Musical.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Act, Helphold, Dental Life, Busy Bone, and dog Chow are
- 14:08Speaker 2: all owned by this company.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Jeez, pardon me?
- 14:14Speaker 8: Wants to go with Puran Purina. That's like my guess,
- 14:17Speaker 8: but because I think of Purina as owning a lot.
- 14:21Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a point.
- 14:22Speaker 1: But you're saying milk Bone.
- 14:25Speaker 6: Well, I just know that them as a like a
- 14:27Speaker 6: treat I guess, so that may.
- 14:30Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I'm want to go with the pone. Maybe do we
- 14:34Speaker 1: have what do you want to say? Roman? Either one
- 14:36Speaker 1: of those they're all treats.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Roman doesn't own a dog, Blue Diamond.
- 14:42Speaker 7: I think you made about point, Spencer, that this one
- 14:44Speaker 7: man owns as many dogs as the four of us do.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I didn't consider that. How many dogs do
- 14:49Speaker 2: you have now? Randall three?
- 14:51Speaker 3: To me, we're a Kirkland family.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Oh same here.
- 14:57Speaker 4: We used to feed them, I'd say we used to
- 14:59Speaker 4: feed the all with the same food and now weight
- 15:02Speaker 4: control food.
- 15:05Speaker 3: It's going well, no phone, no.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Phone, you Broni's We're gonna need you to lock in
- 15:11Speaker 2: an answer. Don't no Phonelex is looking at HANSI sure, Randy,
- 15:20Speaker 2: do you know this one?
- 15:22Speaker 1: No?
- 15:22Speaker 3: I don't.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Okay, Gie Browni's are you ready?
- 15:26Speaker 7: You having second thoughts? O?
- 15:28Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 15:29Speaker 2: Are you ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 15:32Speaker 2: have a Randall saying what's that saying? I'm I am.
- 15:36Speaker 3: That's always a good.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Say milk bone. The correct answer is Purina.
- 15:44Speaker 3: As soon as I said I know.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Because Purina owns those brands and Nestley owns Purina. Purina
- 15:53Speaker 2: was founded in eighteen ninety four in Saint Louis. The
- 15:56Speaker 2: conglomerate owns dozens of brands, some of which they created,
- 15:59Speaker 2: and there's that they acquired. Purina became one of Nesley's
- 16:03Speaker 2: fastest growing businesses in the last twenty years as pet
- 16:06Speaker 2: owners have shown more willingness to spend money on dogs
- 16:09Speaker 2: and cats. It's now Nesley's most profitable division after pharmaceuticals.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Question five the topic is woodsmanship. This word is defined
- 16:20Speaker 2: as the partly decayed organic matter on the forest floor
- 16:24Speaker 2: and also happens to be a famous fictional beer. This
- 16:30Speaker 2: word is defined as the partly decayed organic matter on
- 16:34Speaker 2: the forest floor and also happens to be a famous
- 16:38Speaker 2: fictional beer. Randall has his answer locked in Jabroni's what
- 16:41Speaker 2: do we think.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Julie, what do you guys think about this? Would you
- 16:43Speaker 3: pass me another marker?
- 16:44Speaker 1: What's called pretty confident? This is this is a competition.
- 16:47Speaker 6: Duff Yeah, as in like like duff beer from the Simpsons,
- 16:51Speaker 6: Simpsons and then pine needle duff. See my mind went
- 16:56Speaker 6: to Schlitz is off of Sheerfest, but actually think.
- 17:05Speaker 2: This word is defined as the partly decayed organic matter
- 17:08Speaker 2: on the forest floor and also happens.
- 17:10Speaker 3: To sounds like something.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm pretty confident on this one. Hans's got Hans,
- 17:18Speaker 1: He's got the feeling I trust for this.
- 17:22Speaker 2: King Jabroni, Alex go ahead and answers Jabroni's and Randall
- 17:30Speaker 2: say duff, they got it. The correct answer is doff.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Duff can consist of leaves, pine needles, branches, bark, and
- 17:38Speaker 2: rotting wood. A healthy layer of duff is good for soil,
- 17:42Speaker 2: bacteria and invertebrates, but too much of it can cause problems.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Occasional forest fires are the best way to ensure a
- 17:49Speaker 2: healthy duff layer. As for the Simpsons beer, they pick
- 17:52Speaker 2: the name duff because it's a synonym for but saying
- 17:55Speaker 2: quote duff is a beer for people who sit on
- 17:58Speaker 2: their fat ass all day. There we go, all right,
- 18:01Speaker 2: we're halfway through the game of trivia. Phil give us
- 18:03Speaker 2: a scoreboard update.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Geez yeah.
- 18:07Speaker 5: Unfortunately, the Purina answer they neglected to choose did not
- 18:12Speaker 5: separate the two teams. Randall and the Jabronis are tied
- 18:15Speaker 5: up with four points a piece in halftime.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Nail.
- 18:20Speaker 2: No perfect wording on that, really, really well.
- 18:23Speaker 5: I was kind of struggling with the wording in real time.
- 18:25Speaker 5: You could probably hear it, but I.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Think I got there. We did it up a little bit.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Madden Questions.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Question six. The topic is wildlife and this next great
- 18:41Speaker 2: question is via Julio Aldama. The Monterey Bay Aquarium, which
- 18:46Speaker 2: is located in this state, is the world's only aquarium
- 18:50Speaker 2: to successfully display a great white shark. Randall has his answer,
- 18:55Speaker 2: Jibbroni's what do we think it could be?
- 18:57Speaker 1: California, California.
- 18:58Speaker 2: The Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is located in this state,
- 19:02Speaker 2: is the world's only aquarium to successfully display a great
- 19:06Speaker 2: white shark.
- 19:07Speaker 3: You believe that, I know?
- 19:10Speaker 1: Do I believe?
- 19:11Speaker 5: Which part?
- 19:11Speaker 3: Do you believe?
- 19:12Speaker 1: That's a question.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I can't believe. That's questions being asked. No offense to Julio.
- 19:17Speaker 5: I'm an impartial participant over Randall.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Go ahead, and would you Randall and JABRONI say California.
- 19:27Speaker 2: They got at The correct answer is California. Great white
- 19:31Speaker 2: struggling captivity because of their need for vast open water.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Failed attempts usually result in the sharks bumping up against
- 19:39Speaker 2: the tank walls and refusing to eat. Monterey Bay Aquarium
- 19:43Speaker 2: got their first great white in two thousand and four,
- 19:45Speaker 2: which they housed and studied for six months before returning
- 19:48Speaker 2: to the ocean. They've successfully done the same to a
- 19:51Speaker 2: half dozen more great whites since then. Monterey Bay was
- 19:55Speaker 2: named America's best aquarium by Forbes earlier this year.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Spencer earlier when he met mention the sharks bumping into
- 20:01Speaker 4: the tanks, I laughed, and I don't want to give
- 20:03Speaker 4: people the wrong impression. I've just been thinking a lot
- 20:06Speaker 4: about the episode of Flight of the Concords where Jermaine
- 20:08Speaker 4: appears as David Bowie and he recommends that Britt wear
- 20:12Speaker 4: an eyepatch and he bumps into the doors. So I
- 20:16Speaker 4: didn't want anybody think that I was being the Flight
- 20:18Speaker 4: of Great Whites and captivity people. So the audience who's
- 20:21Speaker 4: watching would see me chuckle when you say that we.
- 20:23Speaker 6: Were going to you don't want to You don't want
- 20:25Speaker 6: to be an anti great light.
- 20:26Speaker 2: No, no, no, I'm fine with We were going to
- 20:29Speaker 2: lose some randomals because no, yeah, random loves.
- 20:32Speaker 3: But you know, Flight of the Concords fans, you can join,
- 20:35Speaker 3: join the movement.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Now Bowie's in Spie.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Oh no, Bowie's bumps into another door.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Question seven, the topic is fishing. This annual, which creates
- 20:47Speaker 2: a fishing calendar based on Moon Fase, and Zodiac Sign
- 20:50Speaker 2: announced that they'll publish their final issue in twenty twenty six.
- 20:57Speaker 2: This is the first one that has slowed down random yet.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Even on the Purina answer, he confidently wrote that down,
- 21:05Speaker 2: but he still has not come up with anything yet.
- 21:07Speaker 2: For this annual, which creates a phishing calendar based on
- 21:11Speaker 2: Moon phase, and Zodiac Sign announced that they'll publish their
- 21:15Speaker 2: final issue in twenty twenty six, Randall wrote something down,
- 21:19Speaker 2: but he's now reaching for his eraser. Broni's you're gonna
- 21:22Speaker 2: have to wait until he is locked in his guess.
- 21:28Speaker 2: This annual, which creates a phishing calendar based on moon
- 21:31Speaker 2: phase and Zodiac Sign, announced that they'll publish their final
- 21:35Speaker 2: issue in twenty twenty six. Randall, you gotta got some clarification,
- 21:43Speaker 2: all right, Jabroni's what are we looking for?
- 21:45Speaker 1: Annual? Is like a publication.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Everything you need to know is in this question.
- 21:51Speaker 6: So the only thing I can think of is the
- 21:53Speaker 6: Farmer's Almanac here as far as like being an annual
- 21:56Speaker 6: public publication and not like a monthly or quarterly.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Word for me, Yeah, I don't know.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Cool with that. I mean Sanuel, which creates a fishing
- 22:05Speaker 2: calendar based on moon phase and Zodiac Sign, announced that
- 22:08Speaker 2: they'll publish their final issue in twenty twenty six.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Farmers Almanac, send it. I like it. Like Randall's face, right,
- 22:18Speaker 1: I want to say it.
- 22:20Speaker 2: King Jibbroni was monitoring Randall as he said that.
- 22:24Speaker 4: I don't know if it's gonna I I kind of
- 22:28Speaker 4: toolieve that the Farmer's Almanac's gonna see some twenty twenty six.
- 22:31Speaker 6: I know that's right.
- 22:32Speaker 7: It's also an interesting tie in with fishing right.
- 22:38Speaker 10: Yeah, I it's the only thing I can think of
- 22:40Speaker 10: as an annual. I guess so TOI Broni's are you ready? Yeah, yeah,
- 22:46Speaker 10: go ahead and reveal your answers. Jabroni saying Farmer's Almanac.
- 22:51Speaker 10: Randall says Sportsman's Almanac. The correct answer is the Farmer's Almanac.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Suck it. Take advantage of random getting that one wrong
- 23:03Speaker 2: your sed.
- 23:03Speaker 6: So is the Spartsman's Almanac a real thing?
- 23:06Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I don't think that. I mean a hyper local thing.
- 23:10Speaker 3: That I thought outside of I didn't think widely enough.
- 23:13Speaker 2: The Farmers Almanac, not to be confused with the Old
- 23:16Speaker 2: Farmers Almanac, has been in publication since eighteen eighteen. They
- 23:21Speaker 2: announced on November sixth that their next issue will be
- 23:24Speaker 2: their final issue after a two hundred and eight year run.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Their fishing calendar rates each day as being poor, fair, good,
- 23:31Speaker 2: or best. According to them, there are only seven best
- 23:35Speaker 2: days left in twenty twenty five for fishing. Those are
- 23:38Speaker 2: November twenty excuse me, November twenty seventh and twenty eighth,
- 23:42Speaker 2: December fifth and sixth, and December twenty fourth through the
- 23:46Speaker 2: twenty sixth. So if you like the Farmer's almanac, not
- 23:49Speaker 2: only seven days left really good fishing.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Specify what you're fishing for on those days.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I mean you're asking too many questions at that point.
- 23:57Speaker 2: So no, it doesn't specify anything. Their zodiac calendar for
- 24:02Speaker 2: fishing does not concern whether it's a large mouth, a
- 24:06Speaker 2: cant in short Tarpin question eight, the topic is conservation, Randa.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Were you close on that one? Have you considered Farmer's amis?
- 24:14Speaker 3: No?
- 24:14Speaker 4: No, I just I thought of almanac, and I just
- 24:17Speaker 4: I was gonna either write Fishermen's Almanac or Sportsman's Almanac
- 24:21Speaker 4: and figured.
- 24:21Speaker 2: It was whatever Hansei saved you. Guys, Hansei, you seem
- 24:25Speaker 2: like someone who would respect the Farmer's Almanac and listen
- 24:28Speaker 2: to them about when you should plant your strawberries.
- 24:32Speaker 6: You know, I do occasionally just google up farmers Almanac
- 24:36Speaker 6: for the winter.
- 24:37Speaker 2: And good old people, I'm going to be plowing.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Has Hansey won before he won in all.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Jabbroni's tournaments in the past, Yeah, so Hanse's good.
- 24:48Speaker 4: I was just wondering if this was an actual is
- 24:53Speaker 4: playing a strong game, and if they've gotten pur enough
- 24:55Speaker 4: they just listen to Hansei. Oh no, you were milk,
- 25:00Speaker 4: You're defferentially steered. I'm trying to pick apart the dynamic here.
- 25:04Speaker 2: We've got three questions and trying to turn you.
- 25:08Speaker 6: We could start picking apart the dynamic over here as
- 25:12Speaker 6: an alternate.
- 25:12Speaker 3: No, how's that taste?
- 25:14Speaker 2: How does it taste?
- 25:14Speaker 3: All that food that Spencer's chewing up for you and
- 25:18Speaker 3: spinning in your mouth?
- 25:20Speaker 2: Anythink on baby? Burden them some questions. Question eight, the
- 25:23Speaker 2: topic is conservation. This next great question is via Jeff Shannon.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Name one of the three countries with the highest population
- 25:31Speaker 2: of African elephants. We have stopped Randall in his tracks
- 25:39Speaker 2: yet again. Name one of the three countries with the
- 25:42Speaker 2: highest population of African elephants. Randall has his answer locked
- 25:49Speaker 2: in Jabroni's what do we think it could be?
- 25:52Speaker 1: Key?
- 25:53Speaker 3: Did you see my board that crossed my mind? You're looking.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Eastern Africa? Yeah, yeah, can't Kenya.
- 26:02Speaker 8: It's a Namabia, Yeah, Namibia, Namibia, Kenya comes to my mind.
- 26:09Speaker 8: I think about elephants, I think about Kenya, Roman, Chile,
- 26:13Speaker 8: Jana sounds great.
- 26:15Speaker 7: I like Kenya. I'm trying to think of Spencer's brain
- 26:17Speaker 7: and with Steve being over there, if that would be
- 26:20Speaker 7: related to this question.
- 26:21Speaker 3: But it's not. Spencer's question was.
- 26:25Speaker 6: This question does Zimbabwe have is that a Zimbabwe could
- 26:29Speaker 6: be one elephant rich environment.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Named one of three countries with the highest population with African.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Yeah, and we've got three.
- 26:39Speaker 6: We had anywhere in the red the lead consensus, O
- 26:43Speaker 6: gut first answer, did you did you also feel that
- 26:48Speaker 6: it's it's speaking to me?
- 26:49Speaker 3: Sure?
- 26:49Speaker 2: Okay, did you feel that too? Kenya King Jabroni is
- 26:58Speaker 2: writing down his answer after accusing Randall accused them of
- 27:03Speaker 2: watching his answer. We go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 27:07Speaker 2: We have both players saying Kenya, nobody got it. Oh.
- 27:11Speaker 2: The three countries are Botswana, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Zanzi again,
- 27:18Speaker 2: God had one of them. According to the IUCN, Botswana
- 27:22Speaker 2: has one hundred and thirty thousand elephants, Zimbabwe has sixty
- 27:26Speaker 2: five thousand, and Tanzania has sixty thousand. Those three countries
- 27:30Speaker 2: have over half of the world's African elephant population. All right, Phil,
- 27:35Speaker 2: let's get a scoreboard Updatehoo, that's good.
- 27:40Speaker 5: M Gibronis have pulled ahead by one point since the
- 27:43Speaker 5: last scoreboard update. They have six points in Randall is
- 27:46Speaker 5: behind them with five.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Two questions to go. Question nine. The topic is hunting.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Some mature bucks are said to have this type of nose,
- 27:58Speaker 2: which Penn State describes as being hooked with a prominent bridge.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Randall has his answer locked in Jabroni's what do we think?
- 28:07Speaker 3: It's Romans.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Romans.
- 28:11Speaker 7: I agreed, that's what I was gonna say.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Some mature said to have this type of nose, which
- 28:16Speaker 2: Penn State describes as being hooked a prominent bridge. Go
- 28:24Speaker 2: ahead and reveal your answers. We have the Jabbronis and
- 28:28Speaker 2: Randall saying Roman, that is the correct answer. Roman knows.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I didn't even consider that Roman would be here playing
- 28:35Speaker 2: answer the question. I was not Roman. Congatulations for knowing
- 28:41Speaker 2: Roman knows on you. In general, it's said that deer
- 28:44Speaker 2: with a with a narrow, long nose or younger, while
- 28:48Speaker 2: deer with a short, broad nose or older. The science
- 28:51Speaker 2: behind this theory is shaky at best, though. If there
- 28:54Speaker 2: is truth to mature bucks having Roman noses, it's likely
- 28:58Speaker 2: from cartilage in the muzzle getting sent over time. Here's
- 29:01Speaker 2: a picture of a textbook Roman nose.
- 29:06Speaker 7: Is there other kinds of prominent noses.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Among deer, just not really among deer? No, No, it's
- 29:13Speaker 2: a Roman nose or not a Roman nose. And that's
- 29:16Speaker 2: it all right. Here's a correct answer review so far.
- 29:18Speaker 2: One was North Dakota to Sashimi. Three Survivor four, Purina
- 29:24Speaker 2: or Nestley, five Duff six California, seven Farmers Almonds, eight, Botswana,
- 29:32Speaker 2: Tanzania or Zimbabwe. Nine was a Roman nose. Going into
- 29:38Speaker 2: question ten, we have the Jabbronis leading Randall by one point.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Question ten, the topic is ecology. This is our listener
- 29:46Speaker 2: question of the week, which was won by John Geis
- 29:49Speaker 2: for sending this great question. John is going to get
- 29:51Speaker 2: a board game signed by the crew. If you want
- 29:53Speaker 2: a chance to win the listener Question of the Week,
- 29:55Speaker 2: then send your question to Trivia at the meat eater
- 29:57Speaker 2: dot com. This type of eight letter well, which brings
- 30:02Speaker 2: groundwater to the surface without pumping It is often used
- 30:06Speaker 2: by land managers to provide wildlife with water. If the
- 30:11Speaker 2: Jabbronis can get this right, they will win it because
- 30:15Speaker 2: they have a one point lead on Randal. This type
- 30:19Speaker 2: of eight letter well, which brings groundwater to the surface
- 30:23Speaker 2: without pumping. It is often used by land managers to
- 30:27Speaker 2: provide wildlife with water. I see some counting happening on
- 30:31Speaker 2: the DABBRONI fingers, Hansei, do you know it?
- 30:36Speaker 6: I think I think I might.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Okay mmmmm, Randall, still looking at his hangman, dashes.
- 30:45Speaker 3: No, I don't do that.
- 30:47Speaker 2: No he doesn't.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Okay, sorry's count in my head.
- 30:50Speaker 7: Like a grown up.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Which brings ground to the surface without pumping. It is
- 31:00Speaker 2: often used by land managers to provide wildlife with habitat,
- 31:04Speaker 2: and Hansi is eighty percent sure that he knows it.
- 31:09Speaker 2: You have an eight letter word, Hansi, I do not
- 31:11Speaker 2: be right, but it is.
- 31:13Speaker 1: It is close.
- 31:14Speaker 2: If it isn't right, Randall still thinking.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Oh.
- 31:22Speaker 2: The final question this type of eight letter well, which
- 31:25Speaker 2: brings groundwater to the surface without pumping. It is often
- 31:28Speaker 2: used by land managers to provide wildlife with water. You
- 31:32Speaker 2: other three jabbronis are you gonna have any resistance to
- 31:35Speaker 2: Hansei's answer?
- 31:36Speaker 3: Negative?
- 31:36Speaker 1: No, okay.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Do you guys know it? Could you three come up
- 31:40Speaker 2: with it?
- 31:42Speaker 3: Not ringing a bell?
- 31:42Speaker 2: No?
- 31:43Speaker 1: Okay Randall?
- 31:46Speaker 2: Do you have an eight letter word? His answer is
- 31:50Speaker 2: locked in, HANSI, what do you think it is?
- 31:53Speaker 1: Okay?
- 31:53Speaker 6: So I think it's. My aunt Ruthie was who was
- 31:56Speaker 6: like eighty seven years old, had one of these on
- 31:59Speaker 6: her proper and she was known as the walleye Queen
- 32:01Speaker 6: of Indian River.
- 32:02Speaker 1: In northern Michigan.
- 32:03Speaker 2: She was a badass, very good.
- 32:05Speaker 6: She had an artesian well on her property, which I
- 32:09Speaker 6: believe is what this is sounds right to me?
- 32:13Speaker 2: What was she known as?
- 32:14Speaker 6: I am? It was just a walleye queen, the walleye
- 32:17Speaker 6: when she fished for walleyes like every day, all season long,
- 32:22Speaker 6: every year almost until she died.
- 32:26Speaker 2: So good for her eye.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Queen.
- 32:28Speaker 2: All right, Gabbroni's ready go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 32:31Speaker 2: We have Randall and the jibbronis saying artesian well. That's
- 32:36Speaker 2: corrects the artesian wells, meaning the jabbronis beat Randall by
- 32:41Speaker 2: one point. Well done, Jibbroni's. Artesian wells are tapped into
- 32:46Speaker 2: confined aquifers that contain enough pressure to bring water to
- 32:50Speaker 2: the surface all on their own. These wells are usually
- 32:53Speaker 2: deeper than other wells and in a layer of rock
- 32:55Speaker 2: that's impermeable. Because of their consistent output, artesian wells often
- 33:00Speaker 2: used to water livestock, wildlife, and entire ponds. Was there
- 33:04Speaker 2: some more around the walleye Queen's artesian well. Was it
- 33:08Speaker 2: like the best drinking water?
- 33:10Speaker 6: It was delicious, it was it was always cold, always
- 33:13Speaker 6: cold clean.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Yep, yeah, beautiful, Randall, you knew that one. Well done? Yeah, thanks,
- 33:19Speaker 2: It took you to come up with our you got there.
- 33:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 33:23Speaker 4: No, I have a bad attitude today, so sorry I
- 33:26Speaker 4: from taking it out on you guys.
- 33:28Speaker 2: JIBRONI game, what are you for going to do with
- 33:31Speaker 2: five hundred dollars today? Okay?
- 33:37Speaker 3: Bh Finally Chilly answers a question. I answered questions.
- 33:43Speaker 6: I think b h A has a great idea. I
- 33:45Speaker 6: mean that's a yeah, they're doing a heck of a
- 33:48Speaker 6: lot of work right.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Now and that's hot season.
- 33:50Speaker 2: That is that your final answer?
- 33:52Speaker 3: Papa Cow will be happy.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Five hundred dollars going to BHA via the jibbronis for
- 33:59Speaker 2: Jae Brownis may be too much for you, Randall, you
- 34:01Speaker 2: can handle three bronis.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Give me some like technical hard questions and leave Hansei
- 34:10Speaker 3: out of it.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Okay, I mean I think you got three wrong today
- 34:13Speaker 2: or two wrong?
- 34:14Speaker 3: I know, And it's just dumb, you know, just dumb.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Purina Farmer's almond ad Kenya.
- 34:20Speaker 3: The funny thing is this always.
- 34:24Speaker 4: This ruins things for me, because now whenever I go
- 34:26Speaker 4: to the grocery store and I happen to find myself
- 34:28Speaker 4: in the pet food aisle, I'm gonna look at a
- 34:30Speaker 4: bag of purina and I'm gonna think about losing.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Today subsidiary of the Nesley Corporation. Yeah, every time I
- 34:36Speaker 3: look at a crunch.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Bar, thanks, love a crunch bar, but.
- 34:39Speaker 3: I am gonna have to look into their pharmaceutical offerings.
- 34:41Speaker 3: That was interesting.
- 34:43Speaker 2: All right, well done you Brownis love you guys. I
- 34:45Speaker 2: like next time, Randall. Join us next week for more
- 34:48Speaker 2: Meat Eater Trivia, the only game show where conservation always wins.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Spencer from South Dakota. He's the host, using those smooth,
- 34:56Speaker 3: mellow tones. He lays them questions down, and he likes
- 35:06Speaker 3: taking those two and three year old bucks. And it's
- 35:10Speaker 3: an avid amateur lockhow
