- 0:59Tiffany Woolley: So for today's iDesign Lab tidbit, it's kind of more not necessarily a design tidbit that we're answering or diving into, but more diving into how design is a huge role in our life, in many aspects of our existence.
- 1:18Tiffany Woolley: And it just reiterated why we call the podcast iDesign.
- 1:28Scott Woolley: The iDesignLab.
- 1:28Scott Woolley: The iDesign Lab why we actually started this podcast Right.
- 1:30Tiffany Woolley: So initially, obviously I'm an interior designer, so iDesign Lab came from.
- 1:36Tiffany Woolley: You know the philosophy that.
- 1:38Tiffany Woolley: You know a design studio is kind of a laboratory for an interior designer.
- 1:45Tiffany Woolley: It's where we have all of our items, all of our samples, all of the things that it takes to pull together and curate a perfect project.
- 1:53Tiffany Woolley: So it's our laboratory.
- 1:55Tiffany Woolley: And you know, initially we started this podcast with it just being design focused and design centered.
- 2:03Tiffany Woolley: And, being a podcast lover that I am and loving everybody's story and how they curate their own life and lifestyle, we found, between Scott's entrepreneurial background and the many businesses that he has been involved in through the years, that we could really take this podcast and grow it to many facets of our design life besides home interiors.
- 2:30Scott Woolley: Well, when you think about it, we're actually every morning, when we're getting up and getting dressed, we're designing how we're looking.
- 2:37Tiffany Woolley: Designing how we dress.
- 2:38Tiffany Woolley: So you're starting your day off Designing our breakfast.
- 2:41Tiffany Woolley: You know, what do we have in the refrigerator?
- 2:43Tiffany Woolley: What do we have in the pantry?
- 2:43Scott Woolley: Well, how we're putting our food on the plate, all of it.
- 2:46Scott Woolley: It's almost to a degree.
- 2:47Scott Woolley: Most people are designing because they like to have this here, the vegetables over here, so it's designing.
- 2:54Tiffany Woolley: Every facet of our existence is a design detail and a design element and has a curated evolution.
- 3:03Scott Woolley: Just your schedule, how you're going to take your day and what you're doing, our diet, how your calendar.
- 3:09Tiffany Woolley: Our philosophy, our attitude, everything is a conscious decision and wherever there's a conscious decision, you're designing.
- 3:17Tiffany Woolley: And so, as I just mentioned, I'm a podcast.
- 3:21Tiffany Woolley: I say junkie, I love it.
- 3:23Tiffany Woolley: And as we began a new year, I said I'm going to do Catechism in a Year podcast which is just a 15-minute tidbit every day.
- 3:35Tiffany Woolley: Everybody who does know me or gets to know me knows that my faith is extremely important to me and I thought I'm spending so much time listening and curating and creating podcasts.
- 3:46Tiffany Woolley: Let me do one that is meaningful.
- 3:48Tiffany Woolley: I design my schedule, let me design my morning to include this podcast.
- 3:55Scott Woolley: Well, most people think about design like interior design or designing a car, how the car is designed.
- 4:05Tiffany Woolley: Yeah, what package.
- 4:05Scott Woolley: How something is made and the packaging and so forth, or the design of a logo.
- 4:10Scott Woolley: You know graphic design, oh my goodness.
- 4:13Scott Woolley: But what people don't think about is all the other aspects of life and everything around them.
- 4:17Scott Woolley: You know design, who is put into it?
- 4:20Scott Woolley: How a podcast, little studio looks Came together.
- 4:23Scott Woolley: Was a design.
- 4:24Tiffany Woolley: So, as I started this podcast journey for this catechism in a year, shout out to Father Mike I.
- 4:31Tiffany Woolley: I heard them bring up the and I'm not going to explain it the way it was explained to me.
- 4:40Tiffany Woolley: I'm only going to be able to regurgitate it in the way I internalized it.
- 4:43Tiffany Woolley: But wherever there is something, a thing, an idea, there was a designer.
- 4:54Tiffany Woolley: So literally everything in our life.
- 4:58Tiffany Woolley: So there is a planet and the designer of the planet is our heavenly father.
- 5:03Tiffany Woolley: Like literally every, it's almost like an action and a reaction.
- 5:08Tiffany Woolley: So when you really think of where design can take you, when you think of that awe-expiring aspect of how vast this planet, this galaxy, this world we live in and everything has a designer, I was like aha, moment 2025, wow, we are on the right track.
- 5:36Scott Woolley: So you know what's going on in the news right now with our new President Trump Hooray, president Trump.
- 5:42Scott Woolley: But everything he's doing is redesigning how this country is going to run, operate and how it's going to operate.
- 5:48Scott Woolley: So the guests that we're you know, that we have scheduled over the next weeks and months come from all different walks of life and most people, really, when you think about what they do or what they did, you don't think of them as a designer.
- 6:03Tiffany Woolley: No.
- 6:04Scott Woolley: But when you look at what they've done and what they're doing, they've designed pretty much everything and what they've done in their life.
- 6:12Scott Woolley: And I would have to say the more— and there's great stories in every one of those.
- 6:16Tiffany Woolley: All of these stories are special and there's so many tidbits to take from all of them and they all are worth listening to because there's so much value in how people arrive at destinations throughout their life.
- 6:29Tiffany Woolley: You know the little places that we all journey through.
- 6:34Tiffany Woolley: It all has a design element.
- 6:38Scott Woolley: Right.
- 6:38Scott Woolley: So the conversation about design is not just educational.
- 6:42Scott Woolley: The journey that people have taken it's.
- 6:46Tiffany Woolley: It's by design.
- 6:47Scott Woolley: Correct.
