- 0:00Speaker 1: The following program is produced by the Tech Talk Radio Network.
- 0:03Speaker 1: This is Stephen Wright. You're listening to Tech Talk Radio. Yeah.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Something along that line. Yeah, I guess that was it.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Let's go with it. I love it.
- 0:16Speaker 2: No, I'll say it anyway.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Hi, this is Stephen Wright, and you're listening to Tech
- 0:20Speaker 1: Talk Radio. But, you know, I've already been saying this.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode of Tech Talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'm Sean DeWeerd. Welcome.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Good to have you here. Lots of great stuff tech-wise.
- 0:36Speaker 1: We've got a couple of questions. I've got something new.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I've been so excited to show this to Sean since
- 0:42Speaker 1: you are a true road warrior. So when you go
- 0:45Speaker 1: camping and you pull up in your RV and you
- 0:51Speaker 1: decide to set up a little campground outside, Do you
- 0:54Speaker 1: take along with you a giant flat screen TV?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 0:59Speaker 1: How do you watch content if you're sitting outside around
- 1:02Speaker 1: a campfire?
- 1:04Speaker 2: You don't.
- 1:05Speaker 1: You don't. Okay. That's the point. You don't do that
- 1:07Speaker 1: at all?
- 1:07Speaker 2: You don't. No.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I thought you did. I thought you had something to watch.
- 1:11Speaker 2: So my camper did come with like a 22-inch TV
- 1:15Speaker 2: mounted in the camper. The only time it's on is
- 1:19Speaker 2: around bedtime when we put a movie on for the boys.
- 1:22Speaker 2: I hook up my iPad. via a lightning to HDMI cable.
- 1:28Speaker 2: And I stream a myriad of YouTube videos that I've
- 1:30Speaker 2: put on my iPad or a handful of movies that
- 1:33Speaker 2: are on my iPad. That's it. It doesn't go outside.
- 1:36Speaker 2: It doesn't get disattached. Like if we're camping, we're either
- 1:40Speaker 2: outside doing something or we're inside getting ready for bed.
- 1:43Speaker 2: We don't, we're not in our camper that much. We're either,
- 1:46Speaker 2: we're not living in it. We're living out of it.
- 1:47Speaker 2: What you're referencing is called, is what I like to
- 1:50Speaker 2: call glamping, which is glorified camping.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Which is, and I've seen it, right? I've seen it all, right?
- 1:58Speaker 2: People roll up back in their rig and they just
- 2:01Speaker 2: get out everything. They put up their, they have this
- 2:03Speaker 2: big TV. They mount to the side of their camper.
- 2:05Speaker 2: They hook up a DirecTV dish. They point it south.
- 2:08Speaker 2: And all of a sudden they're watching Hallmark.
- 2:12Speaker 1: In the great outdoors. Right.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Wherever they may be. Right.
- 2:16Speaker 1: And I was thinking, though, that would be kind of
- 2:19Speaker 1: dangerous if you're carrying, you know, a flat panel somewhere.
- 2:23Speaker 1: because the idea of it falling or bumping against something,
- 2:26Speaker 1: I mean, the screens, they don't take that much anymore
- 2:29Speaker 1: to damage them. So I thought, I found something that
- 2:32Speaker 1: I thought Sean would like if you were sitting outside
- 2:36Speaker 1: around a campfire and you wanted to just enjoy maybe
- 2:40Speaker 1: a movie or what local television is, or it even
- 2:45Speaker 1: has the purpose of in case of an emergency and
- 2:48Speaker 1: there's no power, you'd have the ability to keep up
- 2:51Speaker 1: on your local TV news As well as radio. And
- 2:54Speaker 1: I did that with this product. That's right here. I've
- 2:57Speaker 1: got it on. If you're watching the video, you can
- 2:59Speaker 1: see it. It is called the Monster Vision 2.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Monster Vision?
- 3:03Speaker 1: Monster Vision 2.
- 3:05Speaker 2: And it's about. Oh, my God.
- 3:06Speaker 1: It looks.
- 3:07Speaker 2: It's about 27 pounds.
- 3:08Speaker 1: It looks like a briefcase. Yeah. It's pretty big. It's
- 3:11Speaker 1: all enclosed. It's heavy. On the back of the unit,
- 3:15Speaker 1: you've got the ability. You've got a door here. And
- 3:18Speaker 1: inside the door, microphone's kind of covering it. But you
- 3:22Speaker 1: can plug HDMI into it. You can plug an antenna,
- 3:27Speaker 1: which comes with it. And then on the front of it,
- 3:31Speaker 1: you have got this nice 15-inch screen that is 1920
- 3:37Speaker 1: by 1080, so full HD. And you can watch local
- 3:41Speaker 1: television content. But with the HDMI ability and USB ability,
- 3:48Speaker 1: you can actually watch content that you've put onto a
- 3:52Speaker 1: flash drive. So if you, you know, you have a
- 3:55Speaker 1: favorite show or you have content, like you say, YouTube view,
- 3:59Speaker 1: they'd be able to watch it on this 15 inch
- 4:01Speaker 1: screen here. And the sound is actually really dynamic on this.
- 4:05Speaker 1: It does sound good. If I change a source. So
- 4:13Speaker 1: you have all these different features that you could change
- 4:16Speaker 1: it with. And I mean, it's a little heavy to
- 4:20Speaker 1: carry around. But it also has a microphone port. So,
- 4:23Speaker 1: you know, Sean, if you were sitting around. Yeah, exactly.
- 4:27Speaker 1: So you were sitting around with the kids outside and
- 4:30Speaker 1: you want to do karaoke and scare off the bears.
- 4:33Speaker 1: This would be a good way to do it. It
- 4:36Speaker 1: does have a battery as a part of it. You
- 4:39Speaker 1: can listen to about 24 hours of music with it.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And if you want to watch video content, you're watching
- 4:45Speaker 1: about about eight hours where you have to recharge.
- 4:47Speaker 2: That's still pretty good.
- 4:49Speaker 1: They run about 250 bucks.
- 4:51Speaker 2: It's actually way less than I thought it was going
- 4:54Speaker 2: to be.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, and the thing is, if you don't
- 4:56Speaker 1: want to carry a big TV with you, this is
- 4:59Speaker 1: a lot heavier than a, you know, a 32-inch television.
- 5:04Speaker 1: But it is something that has some... It's all-in-one. It's all-in-one. Now,
- 5:08Speaker 1: some people have told me they like the idea of
- 5:11Speaker 1: using this around a pool or an outdoor barbecue. You know,
- 5:16Speaker 1: if you all want to watch a game and you
- 5:17Speaker 1: want to barbecue outside, this can be a really good
- 5:20Speaker 1: way to do it. And, you know, Monster, it's the
- 5:23Speaker 1: same company basically that puts out all the cables, you know,
- 5:26Speaker 1: the Monster cables.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Oh, the gold-plated ones and all that stuff?
- 5:30Speaker 1: Yes, exactly. I've actually, so I actually met Mr. Lee.
- 5:35Speaker 1: He's the, he's like the grand poobah. He started the company.
- 5:39Speaker 1: And I did a presentation once at CES years ago
- 5:43Speaker 1: on accessories, and he was one of our guest speakers
- 5:47Speaker 1: on that. It was really kind of cool to meet him,
- 5:49Speaker 1: but This company makes all kinds of really cool things.
- 5:52Speaker 1: And this is just one of them. And again, a
- 5:54Speaker 1: little heavy, but.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I can definitely see people bringing that camping. I mean,
- 5:58Speaker 2: it takes up less space than a TV. It's all
- 6:00Speaker 2: in one.
- 6:01Speaker 1: You can listen to local radio. You can also listen
- 6:04Speaker 1: to prerecorded music. You can listen to, you've got streaming,
- 6:08Speaker 1: you know, Pandora or Spotify. You've got movies. You can
- 6:12Speaker 1: play your own movie content or photos. You just want
- 6:14Speaker 1: to watch a slideshow of photos, which is pretty neat. So, again,
- 6:18Speaker 1: about $ 250 for that.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It's heavy.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And I'll turn it off now. There you go.
- 6:25Speaker 2: That's pretty cool. I still don't think, like, outside of,
- 6:29Speaker 2: like I said, bedtime usually. It's like getting ready for bed,
- 6:33Speaker 2: taking a bath, brushing our teeth, whatever. We have something
- 6:36Speaker 2: on just in the background just so they distract it
- 6:38Speaker 2: a little bit so it's easier. But other than that,
- 6:40Speaker 2: we don't have content on.
- 6:42Speaker 1: One of the benefits for this Monster Vision 2, though,
- 6:44Speaker 1: that I do like, is say you're in a situation
- 6:48Speaker 1: and you lose power, inclement weather, or who knows, and
- 6:52Speaker 1: you want to keep an eye on what's going on
- 6:54Speaker 1: with the local TV news.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Hey, that could be great for me here.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I think this is the first time we've recorded in
- 7:01Speaker 2: like the last five months where I haven't been under
- 7:04Speaker 2: the threat of inclement weather. So maybe I need to
- 7:07Speaker 2: put that in my prep kit.
- 7:08Speaker 1: For all that don't know that Sean is in South Bend, Indiana, where, yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 1: you have taken a brunt over the last few months
- 7:16Speaker 1: we've talked about on the show.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Illinois and Indiana have the highest number of tornadoes in
- 7:20Speaker 2: the country right now.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Oh, wow. Well, it's kind of neat too, because again,
- 7:23Speaker 1: you can, you get battery with it. And then if
- 7:27Speaker 1: you can find a place to charge it up, but
- 7:28Speaker 1: to be able to get 24 hours of audio, and
- 7:31Speaker 1: then of course, eight hours for, if you're watching a
- 7:33Speaker 1: lot of video content, that's good. And then people like
- 7:36Speaker 1: the fact that you can plug your Roku in it,
- 7:38Speaker 1: you know, or you could plug, you know, anything and
- 7:40Speaker 1: then get, you know, if you've got it connected to
- 7:43Speaker 1: the net, You know, maybe you're watching it with your smartphone,
- 7:46Speaker 1: your phone.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Does it have a Wi-Fi connection to it? Could you
- 7:50Speaker 2: connect it to the internet? No, it doesn't.
- 7:51Speaker 1: So you'd have to use your smartphone to plug it in,
- 7:54Speaker 1: get the Wi-Fi connection off that. But you can connect
- 7:56Speaker 1: your phone directly to it. And I believe you can
- 7:58Speaker 1: mirror your screen too. So that's something as well. I
- 8:02Speaker 1: have to look into that one.
- 8:03Speaker 2: That's a neat little product. I mean, you don't usually
- 8:05Speaker 2: see them that compact with all those features in it.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Yeah. That was the only thing that's so heavy. To
- 8:11Speaker 1: carry around. That's a lot.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I mean, the screen itself, the battery itself probably weighs
- 8:15Speaker 2: the most.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Yeah. It's probably better than this. So when I was
- 8:19Speaker 1: doing a segment on TV, I showed the Monster Vision 2.
- 8:23Speaker 1: But I showed this for somebody who wants to have
- 8:25Speaker 1: it look like TV. This is from Ciancher. And it's
- 8:31Speaker 1: a magnifier, basically. So it basically sits like this, and
- 8:37Speaker 1: then you open it up, right? And you slide it open.
- 8:40Speaker 1: And then you could take your smartphone, we'll go ahead
- 8:43Speaker 1: and take mine here, right? And you can drop it
- 8:47Speaker 1: in and it magnifies the screen.
- 8:50Speaker 2: It makes it look like a TV. That's hilarious.
- 8:53Speaker 1: So you could watch content on here and have it magnified.
- 8:57Speaker 1: People put this on their desk. These are about $ 16, $ 17.
- 9:00Speaker 1: People like it as a novelty.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yeah, that's definitely a novelty one. It seems like as
- 9:06Speaker 2: soon as you pull those baffles out of the back,
- 9:07Speaker 2: it's going to break.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Yeah. Exactly.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Sometimes those cheap plastic things, yeah, one time out and
- 9:14Speaker 2: then it's done.
- 9:14Speaker 1: You take it to work, you leave it there. You know,
- 9:17Speaker 1: that's how it is. I don't know if you could
- 9:20Speaker 1: put up a tablet. I think you could in here
- 9:23Speaker 1: if you had a tablet and do it that way.
- 9:26Speaker 1: And then these are just for show, obviously. But I
- 9:29Speaker 1: just thought that was kind of neat. And that's from Ciancher.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So if you're looking for something like that, there you go.
- 9:35Speaker 2: You've got all sorts of fun toys, Andy. I've just
- 9:37Speaker 2: been working a lot, so.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Have you got the games going on? Notre Dame?
- 9:41Speaker 2: We're back to school. So it's like we've done a
- 9:43Speaker 2: ton of soccer, a ton of volleyball games already. Students
- 9:46Speaker 2: are back. And it's just we're back into the grind.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Oh, boy. Well, I wanted to talk about this because
- 9:53Speaker 1: it's a story that has been gaining some foothold. And
- 9:56Speaker 1: I don't know if you know anything about it. You know,
- 9:58Speaker 1: we're talking about content. and TV and whatnot. LG has
- 10:03Speaker 1: drawn some fire for a story that was put together
- 10:07Speaker 1: on the web by Gizmodo did part of the story.
- 10:13Speaker 1: There were some others. There's one guy who said he
- 10:15Speaker 1: demonstrated it.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Gamers Nexus did it.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Yeah, Gamers Nexus was, I think, the one that kind
- 10:20Speaker 1: of broke it. Yeah. It's all about privacy. Oh, yeah.
- 10:25Speaker 1: And I have an LG TV, so it made me
- 10:28Speaker 1: kind of, you know, do a Scooby-Doo.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Yeah, so I just watched the Gamer Nexus breakdown of
- 10:33Speaker 2: this last night, where they had a very good IT
- 10:36Speaker 2: guy come in and actually break down the data coming
- 10:39Speaker 2: off the TV. Right.
- 10:42Speaker 1: And.
- 10:42Speaker 2: It was recording video, it was recording audio, and it
- 10:46Speaker 2: was doing it even if the device was offline.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I don't understand how it can record video.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Good question.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Do they have cameras inside the TV?
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yeah, so if you're interested in learning... Gamers Nexus is
- 11:00Speaker 2: probably one of the best consumer tech advocates out there.
- 11:03Speaker 2: They go after every scummy company and just rake them
- 11:07Speaker 2: over the coals.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:09Speaker 2: And, yeah, they... Yeah, it's scary what these LG TVs
- 11:14Speaker 2: are pulling.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Yeah, Gizmodo said smart TVs, I'm going to quote them,
- 11:21Speaker 1: smart TVs are built to siphon your data and sell
- 11:23Speaker 1: it to advertisers. We know that. They've been doing that.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Matter of fact, I had actually terms of service that
- 11:31Speaker 1: I had to agree upon and read to be able
- 11:34Speaker 1: to watch my LG TV, which that really, this was
- 11:38Speaker 1: about a month ago, maybe two months ago, I turn
- 11:41Speaker 1: it on, and it said, you must agree to this
- 11:44Speaker 1: before you continue. And I'm thinking, wait, what? How does
- 11:47Speaker 1: that work? But it says, LG's screen maker, already coming
- 11:51Speaker 1: off a monitor adware scandal, has reportedly given its screens
- 11:55Speaker 1: the ability to capture audio from your living room, even
- 11:58Speaker 1: if the TV seems like it's turned off. So we've
- 12:02Speaker 1: talked about this. Yeah, we've talked about this before with
- 12:06Speaker 1: smart devices, you know, whether it be your... Amazon devices,
- 12:11Speaker 1: your Alexa devices, your Gemini, your Google Home, the whole bit,
- 12:18Speaker 1: that they're always listening. Justin has talked about how he
- 12:22Speaker 1: made that a point by talking about one thing for
- 12:25Speaker 1: a long time. And then sure enough, he started getting
- 12:27Speaker 1: the ads for it. We've all experienced it. And you think,
- 12:31Speaker 1: is it just coincidence?
- 12:33Speaker 2: No, it's not coincidence because it's happening to me. So
- 12:37Speaker 2: In a little bit of the project, you know, my
- 12:38Speaker 2: Suno AI project I've been playing with, right? I've been
- 12:42Speaker 2: playing with that and I've been doing a lot of
- 12:44Speaker 2: listening to Suno on my phone because I'm just trying
- 12:46Speaker 2: to get some ideas and generate some new stuff. I
- 12:50Speaker 2: get Suno ads on YouTube all the time now.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 12:54Speaker 2: I get Suno ads in Pandora. I get Suno ads
- 12:57Speaker 2: in my YouTube feed. I get Suno ads. When I'm browsing,
- 13:01Speaker 2: it's crazy. So it's just like, it's looking at not
- 13:05Speaker 2: only what you're doing, but it's what's listening to you.
- 13:07Speaker 2: It's learning from you. It's taking, it's just, it's gross.
- 13:11Speaker 1: So now, I don't know how the algorithms work on this,
- 13:15Speaker 1: but say you're on Facebook, you're scrolling, there's a video,
- 13:19Speaker 1: it catches your eye and you pause the scroll on it.
- 13:24Speaker 1: And then you go, ah.
- 13:26Speaker 2: You're tagged, you're flagged. You've flagged interest. It's in your
- 13:29Speaker 2: algorithm now.
- 13:30Speaker 1: It's going to show, okay, this person might be interested
- 13:32Speaker 1: in this. So we're going to feed you a couple more. Now,
- 13:37Speaker 1: LG made a statement. They said the claims made in
- 13:39Speaker 1: the recently published video are not true. LG TVs process
- 13:44Speaker 1: voice data only when the voice button on the remote
- 13:47Speaker 1: control is pressed and held. Or when a wake word
- 13:51Speaker 1: such as hi LG is recognized. I didn't even know
- 13:55Speaker 1: my TV could do that. After the user has activated
- 13:58Speaker 1: the far field voice recognition feature. Other than these instances,
- 14:02Speaker 1: according to this article, LGF says the TVs do not
- 14:05Speaker 1: collect or record ambient conversations. If the wake word is
- 14:09Speaker 1: not recognized, no voice data is transmitted to the server.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I don't know. You don't have Alexa or a Google device, right?
- 14:19Speaker 2: No, but Siri is enabled on my phone.
- 14:21Speaker 1: You know many times where we'll just be sitting there
- 14:24Speaker 1: watching TV and all of a sudden the thing will
- 14:25Speaker 1: come on and it'll say something? You're like, what the
- 14:28Speaker 1: heck is going on there?
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it registered something that it triggered it to listen.
- 14:33Speaker 2: But I just did a quick search for the Gamer Nexus,
- 14:36Speaker 2: kind of a summary. Right. Gamers Nexus is claiming that
- 14:41Speaker 2: they found content recognition tracking what viewers watch, even through HDMI,
- 14:46Speaker 2: along with network scanning that identifies phones, watches, and other
- 14:50Speaker 2: household devices on the same network. They also uncover security
- 14:53Speaker 2: vulnerabilities capable of turning the television into a listening device.
- 14:56Speaker 2: LG denies routinely recording ambient conversation and says voice audio
- 15:00Speaker 2: is processed only when voice features are activated. The takeaway
- 15:04Speaker 2: is buying the screen does not necessarily mean controlling the
- 15:06Speaker 2: data the screen collects.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Wow. So if you tend to watch shows on a
- 15:13Speaker 1: certain channel, it will probably feed you content that would
- 15:16Speaker 1: align with what that viewer may purchase.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Right, but it's even saying that if I plug in
- 15:21Speaker 2: my Blu-ray player and watch Lord of the Rings, it
- 15:23Speaker 2: knows that I'm watching Lord of the Rings and it's
- 15:25Speaker 2: sending that data off to LG.
- 15:27Speaker 1: That's crazy. Wow.
- 15:30Speaker 2: But it's also scanning my net. If you watch the
- 15:33Speaker 2: Gamer Nexus video, it's a crazy breakdown of they actively
- 15:36Speaker 2: found it looking at your network and looking at other
- 15:39Speaker 2: devices that are connected to the network. Why does it
- 15:41Speaker 2: need to do that?
- 15:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it shouldn't need to do that.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Can you even buy a dumb TV anymore?
- 15:48Speaker 1: I don't think so. All of them want to be
- 15:50Speaker 1: smart TVs, don't they?
- 15:51Speaker 2: Can you even buy a TV? You might just have
- 15:55Speaker 2: to buy a laptop or a computer monitor at this point.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Because I don't think I can go buy a TV
- 16:01Speaker 2: that has just analog or digital inputs that doesn't connect
- 16:05Speaker 2: to the Internet.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Yeah, but let's face it, though. Say you want to
- 16:07Speaker 1: watch something and it's on a laptop and you're connected
- 16:11Speaker 1: to just an HDMI screen. It's still getting that information
- 16:16Speaker 1: from your laptop. Right. So no matter what, and let's
- 16:20Speaker 1: face it, the advertising has gotten just even worse. You
- 16:25Speaker 1: look at 10 years ago, we didn't see that much advertising.
- 16:28Speaker 2: No, it's not even worse.
- 16:31Speaker 1: It's been kind of crazy. Yeah, to even watch a content,
- 16:35Speaker 1: you now pay for it. You want to watch Netflix,
- 16:37Speaker 1: but you don't want to watch ads, right? You got
- 16:40Speaker 1: to pay more. You want to watch ads? There you go.
- 16:42Speaker 1: You're still paying for it. Which brings me to mention Tubi.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Have you watched anything on Tubi? Yeah.
- 16:50Speaker 2: It's one of those free apps you can get that
- 16:52Speaker 2: has the generic movies and some A-list, some B-list, some D-list,
- 16:59Speaker 2: some Hallmark. It's kind of a myriad.
- 17:02Speaker 1: It's got some great stuff on there. And I was like,
- 17:04Speaker 1: why have I not been watching Tubi? I'm paying for Netflix,
- 17:07Speaker 1: paying for HBO, paying for Disney, paying for Hulu, paying
- 17:11Speaker 1: for Paramount +. And then I thought there was a
- 17:14Speaker 1: movie I wanted to watch. I checked all of those services.
- 17:17Speaker 1: It's not there. It's a movie, The Party, with Peter Sellers.
- 17:20Speaker 1: It's a great movie. And I thought, I want to
- 17:22Speaker 1: see this movie again because it just recently would have
- 17:26Speaker 1: been another year old or it would have been 101
- 17:28Speaker 1: like this past week. And I thought, I want to
- 17:29Speaker 1: see this movie again. The only place it had it
- 17:32Speaker 1: was Tubi. The thing is, if I want to watch
- 17:34Speaker 1: it on Tubi, you don't have to pay for it.
- 17:38Speaker 1: You pay for it by watching it and you get
- 17:40Speaker 1: the ads. So you'll get ads. There's another documentary called
- 17:45Speaker 1: Getting Lost. It's all about the making of the television
- 17:48Speaker 1: show Lost, which I was a big fan of. And
- 17:51Speaker 1: it was on Amazon, but you could rent it, you know,
- 17:54Speaker 1: or you could purchase it. And I remember I kept thinking,
- 17:57Speaker 1: maybe I will, maybe I will. I just found out
- 17:59Speaker 1: it's streaming for free on Tubi with ads. So, you know, Tubi,
- 18:05Speaker 1: if you're in that position where you're like, I don't
- 18:08Speaker 1: want to pay the services, I don't want to pay Max,
- 18:10Speaker 1: I don't want to pay, you know, Paramount, and you
- 18:13Speaker 1: want to watch something, see if Tubi's got it. they
- 18:16Speaker 1: might be a pretty good source for you to be
- 18:19Speaker 1: able to do that. I know Roku, you know, Roku
- 18:21Speaker 1: TV is really big. Sling TV is good. You know,
- 18:26Speaker 1: there's other ones that are out there that are also great.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Everybody has their favorite, but I found that Tubi is
- 18:32Speaker 1: just continuing to gain its viewers. They're also pretty active
- 18:35Speaker 1: on social. So if somebody posts something about entertainment or whatnot,
- 18:39Speaker 1: they'll come in and say, why pay $ 3. 99 for that movie?
- 18:42Speaker 1: We've got it over here for free. Yeah. Yeah. So.
- 18:46Speaker 1: boy content all right i'm speaking okay we have a
- 18:51Speaker 1: list of questions we're going to get to those i
- 18:53Speaker 1: want to get your thoughts on this speaking of content
- 18:56Speaker 1: uh there is a a new show that's going to
- 18:59Speaker 1: make its debut on investigation discovery on september 30th uh
- 19:04Speaker 1: it is called unmasking a monster eileen warnis it's a
- 19:08Speaker 1: three-part true crime docuseries that takes ai and digital replication
- 19:17Speaker 1: and has digitized Eileen Warnes' likeness onto an actress, Morag
- 19:22Speaker 1: Peacock is her name, who performed the movements and vocals
- 19:26Speaker 1: to visualize documenting first-person accounts, legal transcripts, and testimonies. So
- 19:31Speaker 1: while they have, what, seven, I think she killed seven
- 19:36Speaker 1: men in Florida and eventually said, yes, you know, I'm guilty, whatnot.
- 19:41Speaker 1: They've taken her likeness and how this is kind of terrifying.
- 19:46Speaker 1: They've now made it so she is the one you're
- 19:49Speaker 1: watching in the video. Not somebody who looks like her,
- 19:52Speaker 1: somebody that is performing these crimes and they'll be acting
- 19:56Speaker 1: them out according to transcripts from this. No, thanks. I'm just,
- 20:00Speaker 1: is it, I don't know.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Is this going too far? Yes, it is. You know,
- 20:05Speaker 2: I mean, cause you don't, now you don't get to
- 20:07Speaker 2: watch the terrible dramatic reenactments.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Right. Like lifetime.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I mean, that's where it's coming to.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Right.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Everybody wants to just be they want it as real
- 20:18Speaker 2: as possible or they want it to look and sound
- 20:20Speaker 2: and feel as real as possible. But it's just weird.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Why do you want to like people get so engrossed
- 20:26Speaker 2: in these true crime things and they want all the
- 20:28Speaker 2: details and they want to win. They want to if
- 20:30Speaker 2: they could be a fly on the wall while these
- 20:32Speaker 2: murders happen, they would. So the people that are watching
- 20:35Speaker 2: these are the the ones you have to be worried about,
- 20:37Speaker 2: I guess.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Well, I watch that kind of stuff. I mean, I do.
- 20:40Speaker 2: I'm worried about you too.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Well, I watch true crime. I do watch ID channel
- 20:45Speaker 1: quite a bit. This though makes it, this just makes
- 20:49Speaker 1: it just kind of scary. It's crossing a line. It is.
- 20:52Speaker 2: That's what I feel.
- 20:53Speaker 1: It is crossing a line.
- 20:53Speaker 2: And I feel like it's a line that can't be
- 20:55Speaker 2: uncrossed once it happens.
- 20:57Speaker 1: And yeah, because once this is done, now it'd be
- 21:00Speaker 1: expected to be able to be done with other big
- 21:03Speaker 1: cases that we've seen. Yeah.
- 21:06Speaker 2: And then what happens if somebody thinks, well, how do
- 21:12Speaker 2: you know is it real footage or is it not
- 21:15Speaker 2: real footage? What's the difference between real footage that was
- 21:17Speaker 2: captured versus fake footage? How are you going to know
- 21:19Speaker 2: the difference? Do they have to tell you? Right.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I'm wondering also if the victims, she was executed in 2002,
- 21:26Speaker 1: I believe, or maybe 2002. I'm wondering if family members
- 21:31Speaker 1: for those that were victims of her, the seven people,
- 21:35Speaker 1: killed men will their families be receiving compensation for for
- 21:41Speaker 1: this i mean i would i would hope so yeah
- 21:44Speaker 1: it's uh it's something to look i know a lot
- 21:47Speaker 1: of people gonna watch it and the trailer alone just
- 21:51Speaker 1: made me go oh that's that's really scary because she
- 21:54Speaker 1: had a very you know monster was played by uh
- 21:57Speaker 1: what's her name um charlize theron uh she played her
- 22:02Speaker 1: in the movie monster And I'm thinking, this is like,
- 22:07Speaker 1: really looks, this is like her. It's, you look at
- 22:09Speaker 1: it and you say, well, that's Eileen Wuornos. And is
- 22:14Speaker 1: it just taking it too far?
- 22:15Speaker 2: I think so. I won't watch it, but that's not
- 22:19Speaker 2: my genre anyway, so.
- 22:20Speaker 1: You won't watch it for the technical aspect of the AI?
- 22:25Speaker 2: I'm sure I'll see all the controversies surrounding it. I'm
- 22:27Speaker 2: sure I'll end up watching some part of it anyhow,
- 22:30Speaker 2: just to go, oh, yeah, I, yep, not my cup
- 22:33Speaker 2: of tea.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Now, Sean, do you get online and you might see
- 22:37Speaker 1: a video where it's obviously AI? Do you scroll past it?
- 22:43Speaker 2: Usually.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Does it lose you right away on that?
- 22:46Speaker 2: Especially on YouTube with the kids' stuff. Some of the
- 22:51Speaker 2: stuff from overseas, stuff that has lesser copyright enforcement. There's
- 22:56Speaker 2: a ton of stuff that has copyrighted AI content. A
- 22:59Speaker 2: lot of Disney content, a lot of Pixar content. And
- 23:02Speaker 2: you're watching videos of somebody just showing random like toy
- 23:05Speaker 2: cars from like the Pixar Cars movie.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:08Speaker 2: And then all of a sudden there's AI generated scenes
- 23:11Speaker 2: of that car in Japan or Tokyo or somewhere else
- 23:16Speaker 2: in the U.S. driving around and interacting with stuff. It's
- 23:18Speaker 2: all AI generated. It looks terrible. We usually skip them
- 23:20Speaker 2: and block that channel.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Well, let's face it. If you look at the last
- 23:24Speaker 1: even five years for AI creation, it's gotten really good.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I mean, let's face it.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. You can't tell me that the AI isn't
- 23:33Speaker 2: impressive in what it's doing. It's not a... I don't
- 23:37Speaker 2: think it's a great thing, but it's impressive in what
- 23:40Speaker 2: it's doing. It's pushing the boundaries of what we know
- 23:42Speaker 2: as technology, and it's... I still don't like AI to
- 23:47Speaker 2: an extent.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:48Speaker 2: I think it has a purpose as a tool, but
- 23:52Speaker 2: what it can generate has been pretty impressive.
- 23:57Speaker 1: But again... It's that uncanny valley. They're even doing docu-stories now.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Whereas you used to listen to audio stories, now it's
- 24:07Speaker 1: video stories with AI actors. And that has that fake
- 24:12Speaker 1: look because obviously the budgets aren't as big, but people
- 24:16Speaker 1: still absorb it. And as long as people are absorbing it,
- 24:20Speaker 1: they'll keep creating it.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Well, I mean, again, I've dabbled with AI a little bit.
- 24:25Speaker 2: I found that video generating is still too much for me.
- 24:29Speaker 2: But the music generation has been a lot of fun
- 24:33Speaker 2: to play with.
- 24:34Speaker 1: It is.
- 24:34Speaker 2: So I've been generating World of Warcraft parody songs.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Have you been upset that Suno is now limiting your downloads, though?
- 24:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so I pay for the pro version, and I
- 24:46Speaker 2: think I get like 30 downloads.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Now it's been reduced to 20. So I'll create maybe...
- 24:53Speaker 1: four or five different songs based on a project. They
- 24:56Speaker 1: did a project for a video for somebody. And I
- 24:59Speaker 1: just downloaded the one that I said, okay, that's the one.
- 25:02Speaker 1: And that doesn't, so you could create as much, but
- 25:05Speaker 1: it's whether you download or not. And if you want
- 25:07Speaker 1: to download it later next month or whatnot, you could.
- 25:10Speaker 1: But again, suddenly we're starting to see, and I'm wondering,
- 25:12Speaker 1: we're seeing with Suno, will we see it with other
- 25:15Speaker 1: AI platforms?
- 25:16Speaker 2: So you're, you're seeing it all across the industry, right?
- 25:18Speaker 2: Especially in the cloud-based like storage markets for video and stuff.
- 25:23Speaker 2: You're seeing companies go, whoa, hold on. You mean it
- 25:27Speaker 2: costs how much to store this online?
- 25:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:30Speaker 2: And they're like, oh yeah, you uploaded five terabytes worth
- 25:33Speaker 2: of data. You've got to store it somewhere. So you've
- 25:35Speaker 2: got to pay the bandwidth and the storage. Well, now
- 25:37Speaker 2: I want it. I want it back. Well, I got
- 25:40Speaker 2: to pay to get it back.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:42Speaker 2: And tokens, the token prices have changed. You're no longer getting,
- 25:46Speaker 2: you know, early entry fees. You're no longer, it's, it's,
- 25:49Speaker 2: they're trying to make their money back and they're, it's
- 25:51Speaker 2: crazy how dramatically the industry has shifted, not completely away
- 25:57Speaker 2: from AI, but not everything in the cloud is making
- 26:00Speaker 2: sense for everybody now. So people are shifting back to
- 26:03Speaker 2: on-prem solutions. A lot of people are focusing on, well,
- 26:06Speaker 2: just give me, let me buy a Dell server that's
- 26:08Speaker 2: got a gazillion CPU cores in it and put a
- 26:12Speaker 2: language learning machine on it and I do it on
- 26:14Speaker 2: my own cloud. I put it on-prem and I let
- 26:18Speaker 2: my own, I'd use my own power, I use my
- 26:21Speaker 2: own and I use my own compute power to do
- 26:24Speaker 2: it on-prem. That's where the industry's going, at least for broadcast.
- 26:29Speaker 2: It's like, I can do a ton of stuff in
- 26:30Speaker 2: the cloud. It's very easy.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 26:33Speaker 2: But if it's expensive, there's no benefit. But if you
- 26:38Speaker 2: can bring the cloud, it's just another person's computer doing
- 26:42Speaker 2: the processing, right? If you can bring that into your
- 26:45Speaker 2: own infrastructure, you save on bandwidth, you save on storage costs,
- 26:50Speaker 2: you save on A ton of stuff. So a lot
- 26:53Speaker 2: of places are bringing it back on-prem, but just the
- 26:56Speaker 2: concept of cloud is just my own cloud, just my
- 27:01Speaker 2: own data center, basically.
- 27:02Speaker 1: All right. We've got to take a quick break. We
- 27:04Speaker 1: come back. A couple of listener questions we'll do for
- 27:06Speaker 1: you at Tech Talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I'm Sean DeWeerd. Find us on the web at techtalkradio.com.
- 27:11Speaker 2: We'll be right back.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Now, back to Tech Talk Radio.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Welcome back. We were talking about cutting the cable, cutting
- 27:19Speaker 2: the core digital platforms and all that stuff before, and
- 27:22Speaker 2: we had a listener question come in, and I feel
- 27:23Speaker 2: like we fielded a few of these before.
- 27:25Speaker 1: We may have, yeah.
- 27:27Speaker 2: But I'm surprised there's still people on cable, to be honest.
- 27:31Speaker 2: But the question is from Martin in Sajarita. He says,
- 27:36Speaker 2: I'm hoping you can provide some insight. I pay about
- 27:38Speaker 2: $ 125 a month to the cable company for TV, and
- 27:42Speaker 2: $ 12 for each DVR. I have two, so it's $ 24
- 27:44Speaker 2: additional a month. And I don't get every channel. I
- 27:47Speaker 2: hear about YouTube TV. Is it worth keeping the internet
- 27:50Speaker 2: and changing to YouTube? I do like to record stuff
- 27:53Speaker 2: and watch it later. Is that still available on YouTube TV?
- 27:58Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't have YouTube TV. YouTube TV is...
- 28:01Speaker 1: I'm one of those cable guys.
- 28:06Speaker 2: My in-laws pay for YouTube TV.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Right.
- 28:09Speaker 2: And we share it with them because we're close enough,
- 28:12Speaker 2: which is great. And we get everything we want on it.
- 28:17Speaker 2: We still watch Netflix. We still watch Disney plus because
- 28:19Speaker 2: we have kids. So not everything's on YouTube TV, but
- 28:23Speaker 2: if you want your local channels, that's harder because depending
- 28:26Speaker 2: on where you are, not every local channel gets rebroadcasted
- 28:29Speaker 2: to YouTube TV. But they have the majority of everything.
- 28:33Speaker 2: And you can, I even think you can get different
- 28:36Speaker 2: bundles now on YouTube TV. So you can bundle in
- 28:38Speaker 2: NFL network and you can bundle in other sports networks
- 28:41Speaker 2: and stuff. So we're just coming full circle to, an
- 28:44Speaker 2: online cable provider versus a coax cable provider. Um, so
- 28:48Speaker 2: cable provider, that doesn't really make sense if it's on
- 28:51Speaker 2: the internet anymore, right? It's not a cable provider. It's a,
- 28:54Speaker 2: it's a broadcast provider.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Right.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Um, but yes, you can record, you can set schedules,
- 29:00Speaker 2: you can, you can set it to record an entire series.
- 29:04Speaker 2: And when the series is done, it will play back
- 29:07Speaker 2: you to, it even allows you to download to your TV.
- 29:10Speaker 2: So if you wanted to watch offline or watch on,
- 29:12Speaker 2: on your phone, um, You can download certain things to
- 29:15Speaker 2: your phone from YouTube TV and play them back on
- 29:16Speaker 2: your phone. It ties in great with Google.
- 29:21Speaker 1: How's the quality? I mean, great.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Yeah. So you can get, you can get YouTube for,
- 29:26Speaker 2: you can get 4k. You can pay a little bit
- 29:28Speaker 2: more to get the 4k bundle. If you have a
- 29:29Speaker 2: 4k TV, I will say that, you know, we bought
- 29:32Speaker 2: a new TV three or four months ago after Max
- 29:35Speaker 2: and Daniel destroyed our other one.
- 29:37Speaker 1: I remember that.
- 29:38Speaker 2: And we bought a, it's 4k ultra, ultra HD, um,
- 29:45Speaker 2: 120 Hertz. It's good.
- 29:47Speaker 1: HDR.
- 29:49Speaker 2: I had never had an HDR 4k TV before. Like
- 29:52Speaker 2: I've always just had 10 ADP, whatever. I didn't care.
- 29:55Speaker 2: I will never go back to just a regular standard
- 29:58Speaker 2: SDR TV. The color quality and the look and the
- 30:02Speaker 2: views of movies on this TV, even from my Plex
- 30:05Speaker 2: server and even from movies I've downloaded and stuff, and
- 30:09Speaker 2: watching 4K, I think we watched the Super Bowl in 4K.
- 30:13Speaker 2: It was incredible, the difference. Even just from using it
- 30:17Speaker 2: on the internet. Now, granted, I have MetroNet fiber, so
- 30:20Speaker 2: my internet is really good. But, yeah, the quality difference
- 30:24Speaker 2: between what we had, which was a 55-inch Roku TV, 1080p,
- 30:30Speaker 2: not HDR TV, to a TCL Google Home TV or
- 30:38Speaker 2: a Google OS TV, whatever. 4K HDR, 120 hertz. Stark difference.
- 30:44Speaker 2: It was incredible. Even Caleb was like, why does this
- 30:47Speaker 2: look so much better? And I was like, oh, because
- 30:49Speaker 2: we're actually viewing it in HDR. It's not downsampling it
- 30:52Speaker 2: to SDR.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Now, will most cable companies like Cox Cable, which obviously,
- 30:59Speaker 1: if he's in Saorita, if they're using the cable company
- 31:03Speaker 1: to provide both TV and internet, they could stay with
- 31:07Speaker 1: them for the internet or even maybe choose a fiber
- 31:10Speaker 1: company to go with because fiber is available. Will the
- 31:15Speaker 1: regular cable company internet, will that be fine in most
- 31:18Speaker 1: cases for watching content?
- 31:20Speaker 2: Most cases, yeah. Most cases, right, is with cable, you're
- 31:24Speaker 2: guaranteed a certain amount of download speed. You're not guaranteed
- 31:28Speaker 2: the same upload. But if you're watching TV, you're not
- 31:32Speaker 2: uploading a ton. So more often than not, if you
- 31:36Speaker 2: already have cable, you're getting a decent speed that is
- 31:38Speaker 2: going to allow you to watch. Now, you might not
- 31:41Speaker 2: be able to get five people at your house all
- 31:44Speaker 2: pulling down a 4K stream at the same time, right?
- 31:47Speaker 2: But you're going to have no problem doing one or
- 31:49Speaker 2: two streams at the same time.
- 31:50Speaker 1: How does that work, too, with the YouTube TV? Say
- 31:55Speaker 1: your kids are watching it in their bedroom. And you
- 31:59Speaker 1: want to watch it in your living room.
- 32:01Speaker 2: I would have to look into that. I think you
- 32:04Speaker 2: have to have a smart TV, obviously, that can receive
- 32:06Speaker 2: or log into the YouTube TV app. You can also
- 32:09Speaker 2: get the YouTube TV app on your phone, so you
- 32:11Speaker 2: can watch TV on the go.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Is it available on devices? Like if you've got a
- 32:15Speaker 1: Roku stick?
- 32:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Most.
- 32:18Speaker 2: I can't confirm that everything has it, but it's on
- 32:20Speaker 2: Apple TV and a couple other devices, so. But it's good.
- 32:23Speaker 2: I mean, we've not had any issues with it and
- 32:25Speaker 2: it gives us what we want. And we used it.
- 32:27Speaker 2: We used it to watch. I use it to watch
- 32:31Speaker 2: some racing, NASCAR, Formula One, some of those things. So
- 32:36Speaker 2: it's available, but.
- 32:38Speaker 1: That's pretty good. And it doesn't give you any of
- 32:41Speaker 1: the features YouTube Premium does. Whereas, you know, you want
- 32:44Speaker 1: to watch the videos by content creators on YouTube. It
- 32:48Speaker 1: doesn't have any. If you buy YouTube TV, that's still separate,
- 32:52Speaker 1: isn't it?
- 32:52Speaker 2: Correct.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Either way, YouTube TV sounds like it could be a
- 32:56Speaker 1: way to go. Now, Hulu does it as well, but
- 32:59Speaker 1: I've never looked into Hulu. I've never looked into YouTube TV.
- 33:03Speaker 1: If somebody wanted to try it, I think YouTube TV,
- 33:08Speaker 1: if you've never done it before, they'll give you a demo,
- 33:11Speaker 1: a trial.
- 33:11Speaker 2: It's like a seven-day trial, right? And it's worth it
- 33:15Speaker 2: if you want to try it for a big event
- 33:17Speaker 2: or just try it just because. It's worth trying. See
- 33:21Speaker 2: if it works out for you. I do know that
- 33:24Speaker 2: like everything else in the world right now, you get
- 33:27Speaker 2: it at a price. And then in three months they say, nah, sorry.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Now it's instead of 1899, it's 2299. And then five
- 33:34Speaker 2: months later, like, well, it's 2599 now. Plus you lose
- 33:38Speaker 2: some of these features, but yeah, we're just in that market.
- 33:41Speaker 1: So that's happened with everything. Paramount TV went up this year. Telestream,
- 33:46Speaker 1: you know, we have Wirecast. We use Wirecast once in
- 33:50Speaker 1: a while and, that went up like almost $ 50, you know,
- 33:53Speaker 1: for a year. And I even thought about, I thought
- 33:57Speaker 1: about dropping it, but then Gloria told me, well, what
- 33:59Speaker 1: if you need it? And it's like, that's the problem
- 34:02Speaker 1: with all of this, you know, cause you'd never know.
- 34:05Speaker 1: That's how it works.
- 34:06Speaker 2: You never know.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. All right. So hopefully that'll help Mark Martin
- 34:11Speaker 1: check to see if they have a demo, see if
- 34:13Speaker 1: you like it first, you know, just go ahead and
- 34:16Speaker 1: try it with the internet connection and, See how that
- 34:18Speaker 1: works for you.
- 34:19Speaker 2: But you'll definitely, so I definitely think, so when my
- 34:21Speaker 2: in-laws did it, they reduced their bill by about $ 60
- 34:23Speaker 2: a month.
- 34:24Speaker 1: $ 60?
- 34:26Speaker 2: They dropped their DVRs because they had three DVRs, I think,
- 34:29Speaker 2: in their house.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Right.
- 34:30Speaker 2: And then it was going from, you know, they just
- 34:34Speaker 2: paid for their cable internet bill, which was maybe $ 45
- 34:37Speaker 2: a month or $ 60 a month, something like that, on
- 34:41Speaker 2: top of their subscription, which was at the time like
- 34:43Speaker 2: $ 25 a month for YouTube TV. Now it's upwards of
- 34:46Speaker 2: like $ 60 almost.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:48Speaker 2: So in three, three and a half, four years of
- 34:50Speaker 2: YouTube TV, they're almost quadrupled their price for YouTube TV,
- 34:53Speaker 2: which stinks, but the quality is, is better. There's more
- 34:57Speaker 2: content available. They're paying retransmission fees for all this stuff.
- 35:01Speaker 2: So that's where the cost is in broadcast television right
- 35:03Speaker 2: now is retransmission fees. So it's just, that's the world
- 35:06Speaker 2: we live in.
- 35:07Speaker 1: I wanted to ask you, um, because I figured you
- 35:11Speaker 1: would know I've got, and this is my question to Sean.
- 35:14Speaker 1: I've got a Google, I've got the Google app. kind
- 35:17Speaker 1: of cameras. I have a Roku. I've got a couple others,
- 35:22Speaker 1: but the ones that I have for, for Maine is
- 35:25Speaker 1: a Google nest outside. I've got a, another Google product indoors.
- 35:31Speaker 1: I've got a Google door cam and I'm just not
- 35:33Speaker 1: happy with the outdoor one because like the other day,
- 35:38Speaker 1: somebody was getting their car repossessed at two o'clock in
- 35:40Speaker 1: the morning. And of course I jumped on them. I,
- 35:43Speaker 1: I got a notification. I jumped on my camera. I'm like, Oh,
- 35:45Speaker 1: that's not good. That's not good. And before they even left,
- 35:49Speaker 1: it just said, oh, no activity. And then I didn't
- 35:53Speaker 1: get them driving away or anything like that. So I'm
- 35:55Speaker 1: trying to find what could be good. And I was
- 35:57Speaker 1: thinking about WISE and this solar cam that they've announced.
- 36:03Speaker 1: And I thought about getting this because you're the WISE guy.
- 36:06Speaker 1: It's a solar cam that does a pan. So I
- 36:09Speaker 1: could actually tell it, look over the left, look over
- 36:11Speaker 1: the right. And it's 2K HD. And it has a
- 36:15Speaker 1: solar panel. I thought maybe this would be something good
- 36:16Speaker 1: to try.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Don't do it.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Yeah, why not?
- 36:19Speaker 2: Why not do it? So they have a voluntary security
- 36:23Speaker 2: safety recall on the wise solar camp pans.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 36:26Speaker 2: And it's not because of a defective product. It's not
- 36:29Speaker 2: because it doesn't work the way it intends. It's installation
- 36:35Speaker 2: error by the user, which you're like, wait, how does
- 36:38Speaker 2: an installation problem indicate a security risk or a security concern? Well,
- 36:44Speaker 2: it's not a security concern. It's a physical security concern
- 36:47Speaker 2: because it comes with two sets of screws.
- 36:51Speaker 1: All right.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Okay. A set of flat head machine screws to mount
- 36:55Speaker 2: the camera to the solar panel. And then a set
- 36:59Speaker 2: of longer wood screws to mount to a surface. So
- 37:05Speaker 2: one would think, one would think, right, that most people
- 37:09Speaker 2: would understand or follow the directions not to use the
- 37:12Speaker 2: wood screws. to mount the camera to the solar panel. Right.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Because what, what wise found out was, Oh, these screws
- 37:21Speaker 2: are long enough to puncture the lithium ion battery in
- 37:23Speaker 2: the camera. If they're used to mount the wrong piece,
- 37:27Speaker 2: causing fires, causing damage, causing injury.
- 37:31Speaker 1: That's so they had to ladder while you're putting it up. Yeah.
- 37:36Speaker 2: So the wise solar campaign security cameras, incorrect assembly instructions
- 37:41Speaker 2: can lead to consumers to accidentally puncture the lithium ion batteries,
- 37:44Speaker 2: metal casing, causing the battery to rapidly overheat, posing a
- 37:48Speaker 2: risk of seriously injury, serious injury or property damage from
- 37:50Speaker 2: a fire and burn.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:53Speaker 2: So if you bought it before April 3rd, 2026, which
- 37:57Speaker 2: you would not be buying, you'd be buying it new.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:00Speaker 2: The solar panel was attached to the top of the
- 38:02Speaker 2: camera using the incorrect long flat head wood screws instead
- 38:05Speaker 2: of the short pan head machine screws. So if you
- 38:09Speaker 2: bought this and decided just to, you know, I skip
- 38:12Speaker 2: steps sometimes when I install stuff, right? Oh, these screws
- 38:15Speaker 2: will work, right? Fire. So you can get a free
- 38:21Speaker 2: replacement camera with this. If you bought it, if you
- 38:24Speaker 2: return it in the voluntary free recall, you can get
- 38:26Speaker 2: a replacement for free. Right. Um, Obviously, you have to
- 38:30Speaker 2: wait for the return, but yeah.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Okay.
- 38:33Speaker 2: All right. It's still a good camera, right? Everything about
- 38:37Speaker 2: it is great.
- 38:37Speaker 1: It's really good. People can check it out at WYZE.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Except when they tell you there's no instruction on which
- 38:44Speaker 2: screws to use, right? So people just assume they can
- 38:46Speaker 2: use whichever screws they want or their own longer screws
- 38:49Speaker 2: to mount it somewhere else. Fire.
- 38:53Speaker 1: But Sean, that's the job of a YouTube creator. Do
- 38:57Speaker 1: you know how many YouTube videos are out there right
- 38:59Speaker 1: now for any task you want to get done for anything?
- 39:04Speaker 1: You know, I, I'll just, I don't even, okay. I
- 39:07Speaker 1: don't read the manuals anymore. I will go ahead and ask,
- 39:11Speaker 1: you know, Gemini to, Hey, what's, how do you do this?
- 39:15Speaker 1: And it will give you the step-by-steps even link it
- 39:17Speaker 1: to the video. So, I mean, let's face it more
- 39:20Speaker 1: and more people are doing.
- 39:21Speaker 2: So anybody that's listening, if you bought a wise solar campaign, right.
- 39:26Speaker 2: I would go check to see if you used the
- 39:29Speaker 2: launch screws or not. Because if you did, you might
- 39:36Speaker 2: be sitting on a ticking time bomb.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Take care of that. So take care of it and
- 39:40Speaker 2: get a replacement. But I have nothing... bad to say
- 39:45Speaker 2: about wise. They, they've been a good, a good vendor
- 39:48Speaker 2: for me for cameras. I actually just bought a new
- 39:51Speaker 2: version two doorbell because mine finally kicked the bucket after
- 39:55Speaker 2: seven years of living in this house, being outside that
- 39:58Speaker 2: whole time. Right. So, um, I don't know if it
- 40:01Speaker 2: just got too hot or whatever, but it ended up
- 40:03Speaker 2: just not, not connecting after a power outage. Um, so
- 40:06Speaker 2: it lost his brain, but I bought another V2, had
- 40:10Speaker 2: it the next day because it got shipped via Amazon
- 40:12Speaker 2: from the Y store, which was fantastic. And so I
- 40:15Speaker 2: was out a doorbell for less than 48 hours and
- 40:18Speaker 2: the new one came in. The new one works with
- 40:21Speaker 2: an existing chime. I didn't know that because the original
- 40:25Speaker 2: one didn't. So I have the virtual chimes plugged in
- 40:28Speaker 2: around the house. But this one ties in directly to
- 40:32Speaker 2: the doorbell chime, the existing transformer for my doorbell. So
- 40:35Speaker 2: I actually get the traditional ding dong in the house, right,
- 40:39Speaker 2: which the kids love. which is cool. And it looks better.
- 40:42Speaker 2: It gives me a wider field of view. And it
- 40:45Speaker 2: still was less than a hundred bucks. So the wise
- 40:49Speaker 2: camera stuff has been great. I'm a big proponent of them.
- 40:51Speaker 2: I know they had some security issues early on, but
- 40:55Speaker 2: they're just like any other vendor that everything that's, anything
- 40:59Speaker 2: that's popular is going to have some sort of security
- 41:02Speaker 2: risk uncovered. It's just a matter of how the company
- 41:04Speaker 2: treats it. And from there, but all right.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Got to take a break. Come back. We got another question.
- 41:11Speaker 1: We'll share that. And I want to share some really
- 41:13Speaker 1: cool creators that I have found on social. I want
- 41:16Speaker 1: to give them a mention that if you're there, you're
- 41:18Speaker 1: looking for something a little different. I'll tell you about
- 41:20Speaker 1: that coming up with Tech Talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor.
- 41:23Speaker 2: I'm Sean DeWeerd. Find us on X at Tech Talk Radio.
- 41:25Speaker 2: We'll be right back.
- 41:26Speaker 1: And now, back to Tech Talk Radio.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Hey, Bill Nye, the science guy here.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Whenever I am listening to the radio, especially Tech Talk Radio,
- 41:35Speaker 1: it's just such a party. We got another question in
- 41:40Speaker 1: this one from Lauren in Tucson. Lauren says, I guess she's,
- 41:45Speaker 1: she's a little perplexed. She said, hi guys, I'm wondering,
- 41:47Speaker 1: I got myself a windows 11 laptop not long ago.
- 41:50Speaker 1: And my coworker says it takes a picture of what
- 41:53Speaker 1: I'm doing to help train AI. Is this true? And
- 41:59Speaker 1: can it be stopped?
- 42:01Speaker 2: Not a hard question to ask. It's a hard question
- 42:03Speaker 2: to answer because you're going to get varying answers on that.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Yep.
- 42:07Speaker 2: So when Windows 11 rolled out, they sneakily tried to
- 42:13Speaker 2: put a platform on called Recall.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Which took snapshots of your computer and uploaded it into
- 42:21Speaker 2: the cloud.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Was it like every three seconds?
- 42:24Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:25Speaker 2: It was whatever Recall was, and it analyzed your desktop.
- 42:30Speaker 2: So it looked at what you were doing.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 42:33Speaker 2: And then used that information to help you guide yourself through, oh,
- 42:38Speaker 2: You're doing a word processing today. Here's how I can
- 42:40Speaker 2: help you do that quicker. Oh, you're playing World of
- 42:43Speaker 2: Warcraft today. Here's five websites that might help you. Oh,
- 42:46Speaker 2: you're doing this today. Oh, you're editing today. Here's how
- 42:48Speaker 2: I can help you. It was basically using your motions
- 42:51Speaker 2: to track and then predict what you were going to
- 42:55Speaker 2: do and then serve you better by being predictive.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 42:59Speaker 2: That got roasted on the internet terribly because it was
- 43:04Speaker 2: awful because nobody could confirm or deny that. that Microsoft
- 43:08Speaker 2: could see that content.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Right.
- 43:11Speaker 2: And what they were doing with it. And you know
- 43:13Speaker 2: what that means? That means they saw it and they
- 43:15Speaker 2: knew what they were doing with it. They just didn't
- 43:16Speaker 2: want to tell you they weren't doing anything with it.
- 43:18Speaker 2: That's the world we live in.
- 43:19Speaker 1: But they say it will help us.
- 43:22Speaker 2: So yes, to an extent. Now, whether there's any truth
- 43:27Speaker 2: to that is to be determined. So the recall function,
- 43:31Speaker 2: as far as we know, doesn't exist in Windows 11.
- 43:35Speaker 2: Windows 11 also runs Copilot. if you let it, um,
- 43:40Speaker 2: there are safeguards you can put in place to not
- 43:41Speaker 2: let those things run. So I would do a little
- 43:44Speaker 2: research into turning those things off. But for her, your
- 43:46Speaker 2: friend to say, AI is taking pictures of your computer
- 43:49Speaker 2: and teaching it AI. Yeah. That's a little extreme, but
- 43:54Speaker 2: they're not far off base with what, what recall was
- 43:56Speaker 2: trying to do.
- 43:57Speaker 1: So. Right. Um, if you want to check to see
- 44:01Speaker 1: if it's on there, you can, I know one of
- 44:03Speaker 1: the things you could do is, uh, you could, do
- 44:06Speaker 1: a search, turn Windows features on or off in the
- 44:09Speaker 1: Windows search bar. Top result, you then scroll down to recall,
- 44:15Speaker 1: uncheck the box that's next to recall. And apparently, I
- 44:19Speaker 1: don't know if that's changed. They say, then you click OK,
- 44:22Speaker 1: restart your laptop. And hopefully it will be gone.
- 44:25Speaker 2: But I mean, if you're using ChatGPT or your own stuff, right,
- 44:30Speaker 2: and you're voluntarily giving it information, we can't stop that.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Yeah. Right.
- 44:34Speaker 2: But I'm going to do a little research here and
- 44:37Speaker 2: see exactly if the recall stuff still happens or what.
- 44:40Speaker 2: But this is a great time to tell you to
- 44:44Speaker 2: switch to Linux.
- 44:46Speaker 1: People, you know, I've seen comments on threads and X
- 44:51Speaker 1: where people just right away, they'll have that same kind
- 44:55Speaker 1: of inquiry. Hey, my computer did something weird. And everybody says, well,
- 45:00Speaker 1: switch to Linux. And it's easy to say, and we've
- 45:02Speaker 1: had questions come in before about it. It's just a
- 45:05Speaker 1: matter of just jumping in and doing it. And some
- 45:09Speaker 1: people are a little hesitant about doing that. So again,
- 45:12Speaker 1: it could be great. You might really love it. And
- 45:15Speaker 1: you might get frustrated with Windows and Windows slowing down
- 45:20Speaker 1: and some of the things that happen with Windows that
- 45:23Speaker 1: we've experienced. And that might.
- 45:26Speaker 2: Be an alternate. So Windows Recall is an optional Windows
- 45:30Speaker 2: 11 feature for Copilot plus PCs. It regularly screenshots your
- 45:34Speaker 2: activity so AI can search what you've seen. Microsoft says
- 45:38Speaker 2: it's encrypted locally behind Windows Hello. I don't know what
- 45:43Speaker 2: that is. Though privacy concerns remain. No kidding.
- 45:46Speaker 1: All right. All right. I wanted to ask you, do
- 45:50Speaker 1: you ever get on TikTok? No. Okay. I know there's
- 45:55Speaker 1: a lot of people who don't, but I will say
- 45:57Speaker 1: I have seen some really great creators on TikTok recently.
- 46:01Speaker 1: We're on TikTok. We share our videos there. We share
- 46:04Speaker 1: our clips. Please give us a follow.
- 46:06Speaker 2: I don't think I knew that.
- 46:08Speaker 1: Yeah, we are. Yes.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Good for us.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Good. Now you get on. You got a reason. No,
- 46:14Speaker 1: there's some creators. And I will tell you, you know,
- 46:17Speaker 1: if you've thought TikTok, if you've heard of TikTok and
- 46:20Speaker 1: you've thought there's nothing on there that's worth anything, there's
- 46:23Speaker 1: some really great creators on here. I was like, wow.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I'm surprised. I watch YouTube videos. I watch Instagram reels.
- 46:32Speaker 1: You know, I watch Facebook videos, YouTube shorts, the whole bit.
- 46:35Speaker 1: But honestly, I've been in the scrolling process for TikTok.
- 46:38Speaker 1: I've been like, OK, that's creative. I really like that.
- 46:42Speaker 1: So I wanted to name four of the people that
- 46:45Speaker 1: I have seen on creators on TikTok. If you want
- 46:49Speaker 1: to write these down or whatnot. But first one is
- 46:52Speaker 1: Planet Antonio. Planet Antonio does something so different, unique. And remember,
- 46:58Speaker 1: this is live so you can interact. with Planet Antonio.
- 47:02Speaker 1: So you're watching the content, but what does he do?
- 47:06Speaker 1: He takes you back to 1946. He's looking like Edward R. Murrow.
- 47:12Speaker 1: He's in an old newsroom. It's black and white. He's
- 47:16Speaker 1: got an old RCA microphone that's sitting in the middle
- 47:19Speaker 1: of the room. The audio is also processed with that
- 47:23Speaker 1: type of sound. You know, the one where they sounded
- 47:25Speaker 1: very nasally. And he answers the people. They have questions
- 47:30Speaker 1: for him. You know, and it's just, he's messing around that, hey,
- 47:33Speaker 1: he's back in 1946. Tell me what's going on. And
- 47:37Speaker 1: it's kind of interesting because they'll ask questions about 1946.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Did you have buses back then? Oh, yeah, we had
- 47:42Speaker 1: buses and we have buses here and blah, blah. So
- 47:45Speaker 1: it's like you're watching him stepping in time. It's creative
- 47:48Speaker 1: and it's kind of fun to watch. So Planet Antonio.
- 47:51Speaker 1: The next one is Bobcut21weck, W-E-K-K. I was watching one
- 47:58Speaker 1: day her dancing to the song that I love that's
- 48:01Speaker 1: done by chemo sounds called rise slow. And I'm watching her.
- 48:04Speaker 1: She's like, you know, old woman, it's gotta be like,
- 48:07Speaker 1: you know, eighties dancing. And she's dancing to the song
- 48:12Speaker 1: perfectly and lip syncing. And I thought this kind of,
- 48:15Speaker 1: it's kind of compelling. It's kind of interesting. Right. And
- 48:18Speaker 1: then after watching more videos of her do different songs
- 48:21Speaker 1: and really like, I'm like, wow, how does she do this?
- 48:25Speaker 1: Babka 21 is actually a 41 year old woman from,
- 48:29Speaker 1: I want to say, I want to say it's like
- 48:31Speaker 1: Ukraine or Russia or whatnot, but she creates these videos
- 48:36Speaker 1: in tribute to her grandmother who has been very ill.
- 48:41Speaker 1: And she just does these and she changes her look.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Sometimes she'll go young. Sometimes she dresses up in makeup
- 48:47Speaker 1: and clothing old. She's a lot of fun to watch.
- 48:52Speaker 1: And the other one I wanted to recommend, and this
- 48:55Speaker 1: guy is amazing. Again, another one, taking the song Rise
- 48:59Speaker 1: Slow that I like by Kimo Sounds. His name is
- 49:02Speaker 1: Kale Brown. That's C-A-L-E Brown. And he was doing these
- 49:07Speaker 1: videos with his friends. And there was like 12 of
- 49:09Speaker 1: them all dancing to this song. I remember thinking, man,
- 49:12Speaker 1: they got the moves down. They're looking great. Look at
- 49:16Speaker 1: a move. This is so cool. All in unison. They've
- 49:19Speaker 1: got it nailed. And I'm thinking this is, you know,
- 49:21Speaker 1: like a show you would see, you know, on television
- 49:24Speaker 1: or something. And I was watching other videos. Oh, that's
- 49:27Speaker 1: really good. And then somebody made the comment in the
- 49:32Speaker 1: comments on there. How come they all look alike? And
- 49:36Speaker 1: then I went back and I looked at it. Wait
- 49:38Speaker 1: a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. They did.
- 49:42Speaker 1: It was all one person. 12 people, all doing a dance,
- 49:47Speaker 1: all looking great. One person, not using AI, but using
- 49:51Speaker 1: camera tricks and using, you know, the ability to add
- 49:54Speaker 1: somebody in digitally. And it's just so well done. And
- 49:59Speaker 1: Cale put together a three-minute video that's available on his TikTok.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Since you're not on TikTok, I can send it to you, Sean,
- 50:05Speaker 1: so you can watch it on how he did this
- 50:08Speaker 1: using tools like Premiere Pro. Pro and some of the
- 50:12Speaker 1: other tools that are out there. And the other one
- 50:14Speaker 1: is one I just found recently called the Liz Effect.
- 50:17Speaker 1: You know, what we do on radio, I love. I
- 50:20Speaker 1: love being able to connect. The best part about the
- 50:22Speaker 1: job in radio, you've said it, Sean, is when we
- 50:25Speaker 1: get listener questions or when I'm on the air and
- 50:28Speaker 1: somebody calls in and they tell me the story, they
- 50:31Speaker 1: tell me a song request they have or, you know,
- 50:33Speaker 1: they want us to do a shout out. The Liz
- 50:35Speaker 1: Effect is somebody who's never been a DJ, but she
- 50:39Speaker 1: plays music. And I see more and more content creators
- 50:43Speaker 1: playing music. So it's like Spotify, but yet you're not
- 50:47Speaker 1: playing the songs you want. You're just getting a hodgepodge
- 50:50Speaker 1: of maybe 80s, 90s, rock, pop, R & B, dance,
- 50:54Speaker 1: the whole bit. But she plays music, but interacts with
- 50:58Speaker 1: the people that are making comments. You can make requests.
- 51:01Speaker 1: You can send her hearts, roses, stars, so that they
- 51:05Speaker 1: can actually be reimbursed because there can be some advertising
- 51:09Speaker 1: in that or whatnot. or they're staying on the platform.
- 51:11Speaker 1: But again, very entertaining. And I thought, hmm. So those
- 51:16Speaker 1: are the four, Planet Antonio, K.L. Brown, Bobcut21, W.E.K.K., and
- 51:21Speaker 1: the Liz Effect. So Sean, you've got a project. Since
- 51:24Speaker 1: you're not on Twitter, for next week, you've got to
- 51:27Speaker 1: find some YouTube reels that you like. And maybe we'll
- 51:30Speaker 1: give them some love and mention them.
- 51:32Speaker 2: You should go to the channel I created for all
- 51:35Speaker 2: of my stuff.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Oh, okay. That's one. We'll have to include that. We'll
- 51:40Speaker 1: talk about it next week. We've got to take a break.
- 51:42Speaker 1: We come back with more of Tech Talk Radio. I'm
- 51:44Speaker 1: Andy Taylor.
- 51:45Speaker 2: I'm Sean DeWeerd. You can find us on Facebook at
- 51:47Speaker 2: Tech Talkers. We'll be right back.
- 51:49Speaker 1: And now, back to Tech Talk Radio.
- 51:51Speaker 2: Andy, you just talked about creators that you follow on TikTok.
- 51:54Speaker 2: So we've talked about this before where I was generating
- 51:57Speaker 2: parody songs for World of Warcraft through Suno. I know
- 52:01Speaker 2: it sounds silly, right?
- 52:03Speaker 1: Is BlizzCon coming up?
- 52:05Speaker 2: BlizzCon is coming up, so I got inspired to do it.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Talked about the idea I've had for parodying these for
- 52:10Speaker 2: a long time, and you showed me Suno when I
- 52:12Speaker 2: said I had the perfect plan for this. I've spent
- 52:14Speaker 2: the last five months building a backlog of songs that
- 52:18Speaker 2: are parodies of events and themes in world of warcraft
- 52:21Speaker 2: set to a handful of iconic songs so.
- 52:23Speaker 1: You're using what names that people would know okay this
- 52:26Speaker 1: is world of warcraft if.
- 52:27Speaker 2: You know world of warcraft you know this stuff right
- 52:29Speaker 2: if you know the song you know the song you
- 52:31Speaker 2: may not know both but it's kind of a cool
- 52:32Speaker 2: if you know both it's kind of even better but
- 52:34Speaker 2: so in the movie euro trip there's a song called
- 52:37Speaker 2: scotty doesn't know matt damon sings and it's fantastic in
- 52:41Speaker 2: world of warcraft in wrath of the lich king which
- 52:43Speaker 2: came out 2008 there is a boss it's a vikral
- 52:47Speaker 2: like a ancient you know, vikeral boss. His name is Scotty. S-K-A-D-I.
- 52:55Speaker 2: He's vikeral. So he's like, you know, Viking type characters.
- 52:59Speaker 2: And I told my friends at that time, this was
- 53:01Speaker 2: a long time ago. This was almost 25 years ago.
- 53:05Speaker 2: And I said, you guys, this would be the perfect
- 53:09Speaker 2: song to parody with this. Like, Scotty doesn't know. Scotty
- 53:12Speaker 2: doesn't know. And so, but then whatever. I'm not that
- 53:16Speaker 2: musically talented. I can't write lyrics. I can't, Right. So
- 53:19Speaker 2: I took the idea. I took what I kind of
- 53:21Speaker 2: wanted it to sound like. I took, took a lot
- 53:23Speaker 2: of themes that I wanted to do it. And I,
- 53:26Speaker 2: I generated it with Suno.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Right.
- 53:30Speaker 2: And Andy, you listened to it.
- 53:32Speaker 1: I did.
- 53:32Speaker 2: And we're going to, we're going to, we're going to
- 53:34Speaker 2: share it and I'm not going to spoil it for
- 53:35Speaker 2: anybody that wants to watch it. But if, if you
- 53:37Speaker 2: like parody songs like we're now on a couple other
- 53:40Speaker 2: things like that, like I think you'll enjoy these. If
- 53:42Speaker 2: you're into world of Warcraft at all, I know this
- 53:44Speaker 2: really isn't our listener base for world of Warcraft, but right.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Um, But you can find it at blog.techtalkradio.com.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Yeah, or you can just search DeWeirdy, D-U-H-W-E, DeWeirdy on YouTube,
- 53:57Speaker 2: and it'll take you to the channel that I created
- 53:59Speaker 2: for these.
- 53:59Speaker 1: And that's D-U-H?
- 54:01Speaker 2: D-U-H-W-E-I-R-D-Y. It's a play off my last name, DeWeirdy. It's
- 54:05Speaker 2: my gamer tag, whatever.
- 54:07Speaker 1: Tell me though, Sean, how one of the videos that
- 54:10Speaker 1: you have has how.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Many million views? So if you go to this web,
- 54:15Speaker 2: if you go to my YouTube page, this was a
- 54:17Speaker 2: page I created back when I worked at Fox and
- 54:20Speaker 2: I uploaded a viral clip that went viral on Facebook
- 54:25Speaker 2: over a decade ago. We were shooting an interview for
- 54:28Speaker 2: work and there was a street behind us and there
- 54:30Speaker 2: was a fender bender on camera. Like the car, rear
- 54:34Speaker 2: end of the car pushed it into the intersection.
- 54:35Speaker 1: It all happened on camera.
- 54:36Speaker 2: It all happened on camera. I uploaded that and... it's
- 54:40Speaker 2: got like 3.8 million views or something.
- 54:43Speaker 1: It's amazing. Wow.
- 54:45Speaker 2: So it's not the only viral video I've had go
- 54:47Speaker 2: viral from when I worked in news. I've got one
- 54:49Speaker 2: of a kid falling asleep behind president Obama at his
- 54:51Speaker 2: high school graduation. I've got, I've got the, I've got
- 54:55Speaker 2: the Mecosta County rave video, which we've talked about on
- 54:57Speaker 2: the show before, which had, which had the guy who
- 54:59Speaker 2: threw the huge house party and had dancers and flames
- 55:01Speaker 2: and all sorts of stuff. So, Uh, check out, check
- 55:04Speaker 2: out my YouTube page to weirdy, uh, like, whatever. I'm shaming.
- 55:07Speaker 2: I'm shaming. Like, like, and subscribe. Oh my God. I'd
- 55:10Speaker 2: never said it.
- 55:11Speaker 1: You could do it to us too. Tech talk. Subscribe
- 55:13Speaker 1: to us.
- 55:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Yes. Uh, in the meantime, have yourselves a great week.
- 55:16Speaker 1: We'll be back next week with more. I know Justin
- 55:19Speaker 1: will be out next week as well.
- 55:20Speaker 2: And I'll be able to tell you everything about BlizzCon.
- 55:21Speaker 2: Cause there, apparently there's mega, mega crazy stuff happening in
- 55:24Speaker 2: the world of Blizzard. So I'll talk about that next week.
- 55:27Speaker 1: All right. I'm Andy Taylor.
- 55:29Speaker 2: I'm Sean DeWeerd. Have a great week.
