- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good afternoon from the coop.
- 0:31So we are out here. It's beautiful weather, kind of
- 0:34chilly, not really really enjoying it.
- 0:37And I'm sitting here getting ready working on my plans for
- 0:402026 about what I want to do in the coop and might think be
- 0:45thinking, well, why would you want to do anything in the coop?
- 0:47You've already got the coop. What do you want to do?
- 0:50But again, this is like a giant dollhouse to me.
- 0:53I swear, it's like a having a clubhouse as a kid and you get
- 0:55to fix things up and do things with it.
- 0:58And it's a place to really pour into your imagination and create
- 1:03things that are exceptional. And it gives them a really like,
- 1:08this is the crazy part that people don't realize it's not
- 1:10just humans that get sick and tired of an environment.
- 1:13They get sick and tired of an environment.
- 1:15So when you move things around, they really love it.
- 1:17When you do things, they really love it.
- 1:18So moving things around, changing things up is on the big
- 1:22agenda. And again, this is part of
- 1:25enrichment. So the question is enrichment
- 1:28for you? As I'm sitting out here and I'm
- 1:31thinking about this for them, I'm also thinking about, OK,
- 1:34what's my enrichment for in my own office, in my own space?
- 1:38What do I want to fix up, change, do I don't care if it's
- 1:41like hang a new picture or move the furniture around.
- 1:44My mother used to move the furniture around when I was a
- 1:46kid all the time. And I find that so funny because
- 1:49as an adult, I never move furniture.
- 1:52It's like the house has a set up the way the house is set up.
- 1:54And that's what I stick with. And I'm not sure why, but I do
- 1:58other things like it's get different pillows for the couch,
- 2:01you know, get different sheets, get a duvet, put it on the
- 2:04comforter, whatever it might be. There's always ways to enhance
- 2:08the environment. So is it that you need to have a
- 2:12different sound in there? Like do you want to have a sound
- 2:15machine that makes beautiful sounds so you can decompress
- 2:18while you're sitting there? Do you need to have different
- 2:21visuals? Do you need to have different
- 2:23smells, which I think are very important.
- 2:25So out here right now, there's like this very crispy wintery
- 2:30smell out here and I just, it just feels so good.
- 2:33And that just reminds me of this time of year, that crispy smell.
- 2:37It just, it works and I appreciate it so much.
- 2:40So I, I feel like environment is a great thing to focus on today.
- 2:46This environment passes, just maybe you're very clear about
- 2:48this. It passes all the way through to
- 2:50our vehicles because we typically we spend time in our
- 2:53vehicles and if your vehicle is a mess, if your vehicle is
- 2:57cluttered, if you need to have it cleaned or you need to clean
- 3:00it, I highly suggest straightening up that
- 3:03environment. It it.
- 3:05I just can't say enough about how it makes you feel so much
- 3:10better now. My garden right now is it.
- 3:13It looks like who did it and ran the environment in the garden is
- 3:16a mess because I let everything go to seed and I didn't pull out
- 3:20tons of stuff because I wanted to be able to feed all the birds
- 3:24and the other creatures that needed to, you know, get
- 3:27something from it. So we have lots and lots and
- 3:30lots of things that are weedy looking, but they there is a
- 3:33purpose. There may be a lot of bees in
- 3:36the ground right now that are hibernating.
- 3:38There may be a lot of moths and butterflies that have are in
- 3:43cocoons there and they don't come out until the spring.
- 3:46So I'm very conscientious of how much of this work I do and when
- 3:50I do it. We've had a couple of strong
- 3:53freezes. So I feel pretty good now about
- 3:56being able to go and look. But I will carefully pull things
- 3:59out and clean up that environment because I don't like
- 4:03the untidiness. And it also helps me feel like
- 4:07I'm getting ready for the next phase.
- 4:08What is the next phase up? What am I going to be doing in
- 4:11that next phase up? So where make your list and
- 4:16figure out what environment needs to be done.
- 4:18What do you need to clean up? What are the things that you
- 4:21know handedly are important for you to look at and clean up and
- 4:25start the process of just thinking the word environment?
- 4:29What is my environment? What is good about it?
- 4:32What do I need to do to clean it up?
- 4:34OK my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I will see you
- 4:37all tomorrow. Bye.
