Speaker 2: the show now. Charles Demyer, Amy Suler, A good one.
• 2:43
Speaker 5: You gotta regatta, You gotta regatta.
• 2:45
Speaker 2: Good morning, as they say, here we go, You've already
• 2:47
Speaker 2: been out at about this morning. You were on the
• 2:50
Speaker 2: V one hundred Morning Show, I think with Stephen Jenny
• 2:53
  Speaker 2: on the boat.
• 2:54
  Speaker 4: How was that?
• 2:54
Speaker 5: It was great. We do it every year. We have
• 2:56
Speaker 5: such a good time. We like to sit by Boson
• 2:59
Speaker 5: the dog, the dog of the Stern Wheel, and it
• 3:02
Speaker 5: was great. It's always a wonderful way to kick off
• 3:05
Speaker 5: our first day of our what I like to call
• 3:08
Speaker 5: it's our super Bowl. I mean, you know me, I'm
• 3:11
Speaker 5: a five am or so, I get up really early, stretch,
• 3:14
Speaker 5: try to work out a little bit. This morning, I
• 3:16
Speaker 5: just rolled out quickly, showered off and got down there
• 3:20
Speaker 5: because last night USA won, by the way, we had
• 3:24
Speaker 5: a big screen on the stage, and so I wanted
• 3:26
Speaker 5: to make sure that I was there for that and
• 3:28
Speaker 5: high five and the kiddos who were out probably past
• 3:31
Speaker 5: their bedtime certainly passed as you well know, Dave, my bedtime,
• 3:34
Speaker 5: but it's important. It was important to connect our vendors
• 3:37
Speaker 5: where they are. All of our Sternwheel captains were there
• 3:39
Speaker 5: as well. Our stage and sound crew were, you know,
• 3:43
Speaker 5: connecting all of the all of the wires and things
• 3:47
Speaker 5: that they need to do to build this amazing, amazing stage,
• 3:51
  Speaker 5: and just a it was a good time. It's a
• 3:54
Speaker 5: good time, and it starts today.
• 3:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know this, the planning for events like
• 3:59
Speaker 2: this goes year round.
• 4:01
Speaker 4: Well it has to.
• 4:02
Speaker 2: It starts, you know, effectively Monday morning. You'll start planning
• 4:06
Speaker 2: next year, or you'll probably already planning.
• 4:08
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 4:08
Speaker 5: Actually, it's so funny. I have my operations manual in
• 4:11
Speaker 5: the car. If you seen me walking around with a
• 4:13
Speaker 5: three ring binder, that's what it is. Because every year,
• 4:16
Speaker 5: and you know, I had something pop up yesterday. I
• 4:18
Speaker 5: won't get into the details, we won't have time to
• 4:19
Speaker 5: talk about it all. But I saw something yesterday and
• 4:22
Speaker 5: I said, ooh, we need to we need to tweak that,
• 4:24
Speaker 5: we need to fix that. And somebody said, well, this
• 4:26
Speaker 5: is what we did last year. I was like, we did.
• 4:29
Speaker 5: Oh gosh, we need to We need to fix that
• 4:31
Speaker 5: for the year to come. So there is always even
• 4:33
Speaker 5: after five years of going through we call it a picklist, right, Hey,
• 4:38
Speaker 5: what do we do?
• 4:38
  Speaker 7: Right?
• 4:38
Speaker 5: What do we do? What are the things we need
• 4:40
Speaker 5: to improve upon? Every year it comes about and so
• 4:43
Speaker 5: we actually start this week planning for next year. Okay,
• 4:47
Speaker 5: we need to do this next year. We don't need
• 4:48
Speaker 5: to do this year. And you know, everything changes every year,
• 4:52
Speaker 5: if it's the weather or if it's the bands or
• 4:54
Speaker 5: it's the timing, you know, case in point, it's the
• 4:58
Speaker 5: hottest regatta we will have had in the past five years.
• 5:01
Speaker 5: What are the accommodations we need to make. We need
• 5:03
Speaker 5: to add more water stations, we need to add more
• 5:06
Speaker 5: cooling stations. We need to see if Melissa, Ethige and
• 5:10
Speaker 5: Win and Jude could push back their time to start.
• 5:13
Speaker 4: So there probably wasn't very much argument from them, and
• 5:15
  Speaker 4: there really wasn't.
• 5:16
Speaker 5: Us to you is I will tell you you know,
• 5:18
Speaker 5: this hasn't been my world. This is your world. I
• 5:20
Speaker 5: don't know anything about it, but just the small periphery
• 5:23
Speaker 5: that I am on and dealing with these bands and
• 5:26
Speaker 5: folks has been It's been a learning experience for me.
• 5:30
Speaker 5: Thank goodness. We've got really talented and great people who
• 5:33
Speaker 5: are consulting us on this, who do this for a living.
• 5:37
Speaker 5: But they said, yeah, because that sun, as everybody knows,
• 5:40
Speaker 5: is right on that stage and to have it just
• 5:43
Speaker 5: just cool down a few tempts and get that breeze
• 5:45
Speaker 5: going when the sun goes down makes a world of difference,
• 5:49
Speaker 5: I can promise well.
• 5:50
Speaker 2: And for performers, they're under the they have the lights
• 5:52
Speaker 2: on them, so whatever the temperature is that temperature on
• 5:55
Speaker 2: the stage is about twenty degrees the guitar on plus
• 5:59
Speaker 2: there's a lot of leve electricity, you know, being being
• 6:02
Speaker 2: dot there, and performers don't have the luxury because everybody's
• 6:06
Speaker 2: taking pictures of them. Oh my god, look how this
• 6:08
Speaker 2: person looked. You know, they don't have the luxury of
• 6:10
Speaker 2: dressing down so to speak, like like most of us,
• 6:13
Speaker 2: and they're going to be in leather outfits.
• 6:15
Speaker 5: And their ponality up. You got to go on advance
• 6:18
  Speaker 5: and jump there.
• 6:19
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, sure. I want to run down the list
• 6:21
  Speaker 4: of events today.
• 6:21
Speaker 2: By the way, if you go over to the regatta
• 6:24
Speaker 2: pages the website City of Charleston, our pages have all
• 6:27
Speaker 2: got all of this stuff on there. So I'm not
• 6:28
Speaker 2: going to cover it all throughout the entire regod. I
• 6:31
Speaker 2: just want to kind of cover today. The Valley Jim
• 6:34
Speaker 2: sternwheel rides start at ten this morning. And one of
• 6:37
Speaker 2: the cool things I would definitely want to check out
• 6:40
Speaker 2: is the regatta through the year's maybe zhibit at four
• 6:43
Speaker 2: points by Sheridan tell us about that.
• 6:45
Speaker 5: You know what, several years back when I announced everybody
• 6:49
Speaker 5: that I was going to bring back the Charleston s
• 6:51
Speaker 5: Cernomo Regatta. This is hand to the heavens. Every week
• 6:55
Speaker 5: I would get things sent to my office. Hey, Amy,
• 6:59
Speaker 5: my mom had this hand stitched skirt with stern wheelers
• 7:03
Speaker 5: on the side. If thanks for bringing the regatta back.
• 7:06
Speaker 5: I don't know if there's anything to do with this,
• 7:07
Speaker 5: but here you go. And so I started to collect
• 7:10
Speaker 5: and we have a catalog and now we have you
• 7:13
Speaker 5: know this. I call it the Museum of past and
• 7:17
Speaker 5: present things. This is what is so important, and please
• 7:21
Speaker 5: come by. It's at the four points. We're opening up
• 7:23
Speaker 5: at noon today, it's noon to five. Please come by.
• 7:25
Speaker 5: It's going to be open throughout the regatta. This is
• 7:28
Speaker 5: what is so special about. Here's my mom's hand woven
• 7:31
Speaker 5: basket with you know, hand painted stern wheels on it.
• 7:34
Speaker 5: Here's the T shirt from nineteen blah blah blah. Here's
• 7:37
Speaker 5: the pens. Here's the news articles. Here's the videotape of
• 7:41
Speaker 5: all the pageant queens. Here's the people held on to
• 7:44
Speaker 5: this because it was so important to them. So if
• 7:47
Speaker 5: you if you weren't here, if you weren't if you
• 7:50
Speaker 5: didn't really understand, like my kids, what did it mean
• 7:52
Speaker 5: to you back then? Come to come to the museum,
• 7:56
Speaker 5: come and check out all of the wonderful things that
• 7:59
Speaker 5: people have kept. And by the way, we keep adding
• 8:01
Speaker 5: to it. And here's my caught action. If you have
• 8:04
Speaker 5: something that you don't mind sharing with the community, because
• 8:07
Speaker 5: by the way, everything is cataloged. Everything is going to
• 8:10
Speaker 5: be housed here in the City of Charleston and showcased
• 8:14
Speaker 5: during the regatta. We'd love to as we move forward,
• 8:17
Speaker 5: we have some ideas about some places and spaces and
• 8:20
Speaker 5: City Hall and some of our city service buildings that
• 8:23
Speaker 5: we can house this permanently. People love it. People love it.
• 8:28
Speaker 5: In the first thing, I was interviewed this morning by
• 8:30
Speaker 5: a local television station and they said, what is so
• 8:32
Speaker 5: special about this? I said, you sit here for five
• 8:34
Speaker 5: minutes and watch people come in. The first thing they say, Dave,
• 8:37
Speaker 5: is oh I remember phill in the blank.
• 8:41
Speaker 2: Everybody's memory and it's not always going to be who
• 8:44
  Speaker 2: was in concert.
• 8:45
  Speaker 4: It's not all it's just it's that little it's so.
• 8:47
Speaker 5: Don't you remember the year that so and so won
• 8:50
Speaker 5: the Stern Roll Race. It's all man his engine blue,
• 8:52
  Speaker 5: and it's it's crazy.
• 8:55
Speaker 2: Get Brian to tell you the story of his friend
• 8:57
Speaker 2: who is a Regatta baby. He started killing it. He
• 9:00
Speaker 2: started telling that story on the air of the day
• 9:02
Speaker 2: and I was like, okay, all right, that's enough.
• 9:03
Speaker 4: I don't need to know it.
• 9:04
Speaker 2: But he yeah, he's a we Gotta baby. I'll be
• 9:06
Speaker 2: if you run into Brian. Let Brian Hughes tell the story.
• 9:09
Speaker 5: Well, it's Josh and you know, Josh is on our
• 9:12
Speaker 5: Regotta Commission. I want to know why because he builds
• 9:15
Speaker 5: stern whalers. He knows it. He literally grew up on
• 9:18
Speaker 5: the river. And so to have amazing, amazing folks like
• 9:22
Speaker 5: Joshcott be a part of our committee because, by the way,
• 9:26
Speaker 5: this isn't this is city.
• 9:28
  Speaker 6: You know.
• 9:28
Speaker 5: City is the backbone of it, for sure, but it's
• 9:30
Speaker 5: the Regatta Commission and the Regatta commissioners who really do
• 9:34
Speaker 5: it and make it happen. So that's number one and
• 9:37
Speaker 5: number two, thank you so much to our sponsors. We
• 9:41
Speaker 5: couldn't afford to do this, by the way, City Charleston
• 9:44
Speaker 5: can't afford to do something like this. It is because
• 9:46
Speaker 5: of not only the support that we get from you
• 9:49
Speaker 5: all here at Metro News and WHS Radio, we get
• 9:55
Speaker 5: so much support from in Covia, WU Medicine Moses. And
• 10:01
Speaker 5: by the way, this is from you know, tens of
• 10:04
Speaker 5: thousands of dollars to a couple of bucks. And by
• 10:07
Speaker 5: the way, when I'm in a couple bucks, when you
• 10:08
Speaker 5: come down and support our vendors, you're given the regatta.
• 10:11
Speaker 5: You're giving folks a couple of bucks. Not only are
• 10:14
Speaker 5: you making for the year. And our vendors will tell
• 10:17
Speaker 5: you this. Coming to this four day event helps me
• 10:20
Speaker 5: through their period and a paragraph. Some have said to me,
• 10:22
Speaker 5: this is really all I need to do this year.
• 10:24
Speaker 5: Of course I do other you know, other events, so
• 10:28
Speaker 5: it's so it's so special. Let me also give knowledge
• 10:31
Speaker 5: to this because there hasn't been too much to really
• 10:35
Speaker 5: wow me and surprise me, except for the call that
• 10:37
Speaker 5: I got that said, Hi, we're a couple of Charleston families,
• 10:41
Speaker 5: a couple of West Virginia families, and we want to
• 10:44
Speaker 5: make this so special this year, for the two fiftieth
• 10:47
Speaker 5: we are going to take our family money one hundred
• 10:50
Speaker 5: thousand dollars and get to your fireworks displays, dow shows,
• 10:56
Speaker 5: by the way, Magic Island had to and at the
• 10:59
Speaker 5: Capitol anonymous owners because they don't by the way, they
• 11:03
Speaker 5: don't want their They really don't want it, and have
• 11:05
Speaker 5: said you may not tell people who we are, but
• 11:09
Speaker 5: we love the regatta, we love what is going on
• 11:12
Speaker 5: and we want all of our families. If you're in
• 11:14
Speaker 5: the regatta footprint, man, you got a good spot. But
• 11:17
Speaker 5: if you got it, which is what we booth and
• 11:19
Speaker 5: I used to do with the boys when they were little,
• 11:20
Speaker 5: for fireworks. And I know every parent or grandparent listening,
• 11:23
Speaker 5: I know what you do. You get everybody ready for bed,
• 11:25
Speaker 5: You put their jammis on, you put them in the car,
• 11:27
Speaker 5: you take the sippy cups down, you watch the show
• 11:30
Speaker 5: on the way back home, they fall asleep, You slide
• 11:32
Speaker 5: them into bed. Right, everybody, everybody listening has done that
• 11:35
Speaker 5: with a small person. You can do it from the
• 11:37
Speaker 5: west side, the east end. You don't have to be
• 11:39
Speaker 5: in that Just head dad regatta footprint anymore. And so
• 11:43
Speaker 5: thank you to the families. Yes, the city put in
• 11:45
Speaker 5: a little bit of money for our fireworks display. Yes
• 11:48
Speaker 5: the state did as well, but this family, this anonymous family,
• 11:52
Speaker 5: families deserve this recognition. And think about that. They didn't
• 11:57
Speaker 5: have to do this. They could spend their money elsewhere,
• 12:00
Speaker 5: but they said, no, this is really important. We want
• 12:02
Speaker 5: to celebrate and so it's very special for us as well.
• 12:05
Speaker 4: Also, Mary Amy should a good one. Just a couple
• 12:06
  Speaker 4: of quick reminders.
• 12:07
Speaker 2: West Banco Family Zone opens at noon today, Carnival starts
• 12:10
Speaker 2: at three and had ed Riverfront Park. And keep in
• 12:14
Speaker 2: mind if you coming for the concert for Melissa Ethridge
• 12:16
Speaker 2: and well, I know that the time has been changed,
• 12:19
Speaker 2: you know, I mean a couple of days ago we
• 12:20
  Speaker 2: announced it.
• 12:21
Speaker 5: That's right and pushing it back. And by the way,
• 12:23
Speaker 5: they're delighted. We're delighted. Get that sun to go down,
• 12:25
Speaker 5: cooler breeze. And let me also say thank you. You
• 12:28
Speaker 5: know we're talking about sponsors. Thanks West Banco, because the
• 12:31
Speaker 5: other thing we said when I turned to Jane Bostic
• 12:33
Speaker 5: at Senior Staff many years ago, Hey we want to
• 12:36
Speaker 5: bring back regatta. If we're going to bring it back,
• 12:38
Speaker 5: we're going to bring it back for the littles, for
• 12:40
Speaker 5: our kiddos. Thank you West Banco. You go to City
• 12:42
Speaker 5: Center at Slack Plaza any day during regatta. They are
• 12:45
Speaker 5: going to have the time of their lives. Guess what
• 12:47
Speaker 5: dave for free? For free because times are tight, families,
• 12:53
Speaker 5: families need a little bit of help. You want to
• 12:55
Speaker 5: come down, you want to spend a great time for
• 12:57
Speaker 5: Free City Center at Slack Plaza. It's absolute lutely amazing.
• 13:01
Speaker 5: We're so thankful for so many people. Let me give
• 13:03
Speaker 5: a shout out to Audrey Kahn and Jeff Pierson. It's
• 13:06
Speaker 5: not just you know, Jane is you know, I say
• 13:08
Speaker 5: this is my super Bowl and Jane is my quarterback,
• 13:11
Speaker 5: but you know, you know Tina and Matthew, and Andrew
• 13:14
Speaker 5: and Jeff Pearson and Audrey Kahn, and I mean the
• 13:18
Speaker 5: so many volunteers and the cv B pitches in it,
• 13:22
Speaker 5: in Adam Harris and everybody who helps with all of
• 13:25
Speaker 5: our wonderful Wiener dog and funeral parade and the Slambury
• 13:29
Speaker 5: Stern will Slamberree. It is a true community effort. People
• 13:35
Speaker 5: put their time, their luck. We have volunteers, by the way,
• 13:38
Speaker 5: who take off work, who put in their vacation time
• 13:42
Speaker 5: to be volunteers for the regatta. Thank you, Sammy Magner.
• 13:46

Speaker 1: How are you doing.
• 17:40
Speaker 4: I'm doing fine and happy two fifty to both of you.
• 17:44
Speaker 12: Absolutely, you know. I love America and I love I'm
• 17:47
Speaker 12: looking so forward to this celebration Hurricane and all the
• 17:50
Speaker 12: celebrations are going all over the country.
• 17:52
Speaker 2: Tell us what's going on in Hurricane, because you guys
• 17:54
Speaker 2: are going all out. Just run it down for us.
• 17:57
  Speaker 7: YEP.
• 17:57
Speaker 12: So the parade eight is the first thing. It starts
• 18:01
Speaker 12: at three o'clock on Main Street, and we probably it
• 18:04
Speaker 12: may be the biggest Independence Day parade we've ever seen
• 18:07
Speaker 12: because we have a lot of entries.
• 18:09
Speaker 7: It's going to be wonderful.
• 18:11
Speaker 12: But before the parade, going backwards, order for a second.
• 18:14
Speaker 12: At two forty five, my friend Mitch Fitzgerald, he's a
• 18:17
Speaker 12: Hurrican guy, he's a huge man. He's going to attempt
• 18:21
Speaker 12: to pull a forty thousand pound fire truck down Main Street.
• 18:24
Speaker 12: And that will be at two forty five. Now, Dave,
• 18:26
Speaker 12: I tried to do it myself. They harnessed me up
• 18:28
Speaker 12: and wrote me up, and I thought I was gonna
• 18:30
  Speaker 12: have a stroke.
• 18:31
  Speaker 4: So what happened?
• 18:33
  Speaker 7: So you tried?
• 18:34
Speaker 4: What about a manda? Do you think what you do it?
• 18:37
  Speaker 1: No?
• 18:37
  Speaker 4: Absolutely not.
• 18:38
Speaker 6: I didn't even try. But the paride is.
• 18:41
Speaker 12: Going to be absolutely unbelievable this year. But then from
• 18:45
Speaker 12: four to ten is the free celebration. I'm gonna let
• 18:48
Speaker 12: a man to run that down for you.
• 18:50
Speaker 13: Yeah, so we have a full evening of all the
• 18:52
Speaker 13: fun things. Of course, admission is free. Free treats like
• 18:55
Speaker 13: ice cream, watermelon, stoke cones, cotton, candy, inflatables, water slides,
• 19:02
Speaker 13: petting to anything you can imagine.
• 19:05
  Speaker 12: Yard games.
• 19:06
Speaker 13: But then entertainment at five o'clock. We have an American
• 19:11
Speaker 13: Songbooks show, very family, family and kid friendly show at
• 19:15
Speaker 13: five o'clock. They're going to sing songs that span America's history,
• 19:20
Speaker 13: so that will be fun. And then of course Rewind
• 19:23
Speaker 13: the Walkman as our headlining act at eight fifteen, and
• 19:26
Speaker 13: we're very excited to have them back this year.
• 19:28
Speaker 4: They're great. I have worked shows. Yeah they're good.
• 19:32
Speaker 12: Yeah, Rewind the Walkman. I had to jump in on them.
• 19:34
Speaker 12: They are phenomenal. We immediately signed them last year after
• 19:38
Speaker 12: they were here. All the crowds that please get them
• 19:40
Speaker 12: again again again and we sign them immediately.
• 19:42
  Speaker 8: They're that good.
• 19:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, they're fantastic and all of this. I do want
• 19:46
Speaker 2: to make sure that everybody understand this is all happening
• 19:48
Speaker 2: on the actual fourth of July, you know, I want
• 19:49
Speaker 2: to I want to throw that out there.
• 19:51
Speaker 4: So all right, so what else? Keep going? What else?
• 19:53
  Speaker 4: We got?
• 19:54
Speaker 12: So fireworks? Our fireworks are going to be unbelievable this year,
• 19:59
Speaker 12: by far, the largest fireworks that we've ever seen.
• 20:04
  Speaker 6: We have shells.
• 20:06
Speaker 12: A lot of people do three, four, five and six
• 20:08
Speaker 12: inch firework shells, which are awesome. We usually add in
• 20:11
Speaker 12: some eight tens and twelves, which a lot of people
• 20:14
Speaker 12: don't do. But they're just really, really really big huge.
• 20:18
Speaker 12: This year, we've got a couple sixteen inch shells fifty
• 20:21
Speaker 12: but actually they are fifty four pounds and they are massive.
• 20:25
Speaker 12: We don't know of anybody else that's ever ever launched
• 20:28
Speaker 12: these in the state. Maybe there has.
• 20:30
  Speaker 7: Been, I don't know.
• 20:31
Speaker 12: I can't find anybody. These things are massive, huge shells.
• 20:35
Speaker 12: So it's gonna be it's gonna be unbelievable, you know,
• 20:39
Speaker 12: And real quick, David, if we got just a minute
• 20:42
Speaker 12: back to the celebration, we do have a hot dog
• 20:44
Speaker 12: eating contest. I can't believe we both left that out.
• 20:48
Speaker 12: That's my favorite thing, and I would love I've told
• 20:50
Speaker 12: you this for years. I would love to see you
• 20:52
Speaker 12: enter one year. I want you in it. We're full
• 20:54
Speaker 12: this year, but I really want you to enter.
• 20:57
  Speaker 14: It one year.
• 20:59
  Speaker 6: Eating.
• 20:59
Speaker 2: I love hot dogs and I love Farley's hot dogs,
• 21:01
Speaker 2: but I am not a competitive eater, Mayor. I mean,
• 21:04
Speaker 2: you know, and here's the thing, and you and I
• 21:06
Speaker 2: have talked about this before. You know, I got a
• 21:09
Speaker 2: chance to mc a hot dog eating one contest one
• 21:13
Speaker 2: year when I was working at another radio station. And
• 21:15
Speaker 2: you see this on TV, you see Joey chestnutting all
• 21:18
Speaker 2: these guys, and you think anybody could do that. It
• 21:21
Speaker 2: is not as easy as it looks. The I mean,
• 21:24
Speaker 2: and the people that do know these contests around here,
• 21:26
Speaker 2: they're not most of them don't do this professionally. So's
• 21:30
Speaker 2: it's a whole lot harder that somebody says, oh, I
• 21:31
Speaker 2: could eat four or five hot dogs. Yeah, that's not
• 21:33
Speaker 2: even that's not even the beginning point on what you
• 21:36
Speaker 2: got to do to do this, mayor.
• 21:38
Speaker 12: No, it's it's tough and you have five minutes to
• 21:40
Speaker 12: as me as you can. Last year the winner eight fifteen,
• 21:42
Speaker 12: I believe, And you know, we actually because we don't
• 21:45
Speaker 12: want puke everywhere. Every so often there's a puke er,
• 21:47
Speaker 12: we give them a puke bucket.
• 21:48
Speaker 6: So if they puke it head and.
• 21:50
Speaker 12: A lot of contests, if they puke it, they're out
• 21:53
Speaker 12: in our contest. As long as they drink it back,
• 21:55
Speaker 12: they're still in. So we we as long as it's
• 21:58
Speaker 12: a as long as it's all in in five minutes,
• 22:00
Speaker 12: we don't care how it gets in. They can dip
• 22:02
Speaker 12: it in water, they can drink the bucket, doesn't matter.
• 22:04
Speaker 12: I want you in it, Dave.
• 22:06
Speaker 2: Maybe next year, but I mean you make it sound
• 22:08
Speaker 2: really appealing when you say that there's a puke bucket
• 22:11
Speaker 2: there and that you can you can and you can
• 22:13
Speaker 2: just start all over again.
• 22:15
Speaker 4: For they as appealing as you're making it sound. Mayor
• 22:19
Speaker 4: maybe next year, Okay, but.
• 22:21
Speaker 13: It's fun to watch. And it starts at six point
• 22:23
Speaker 13: thirty beside the main stage on the hot dog eating trailer.
• 22:26
Speaker 13: So we appreciate Farley's for sponsoring that every year.
• 22:29
Speaker 12: Yeah, and we'll have plenty of free water, what there
• 22:32
Speaker 12: will be food trucks.
• 22:33
Speaker 6: It's going to be hot.
• 22:33
Speaker 12: We've got lots of shade Family Wealth Group. They're bringing
• 22:37
Speaker 12: tons of canopies to go along with ours, and it's
• 22:41
Speaker 12: just it's gonna be an amazing day. And real quick,
• 22:43
Speaker 12: I want to give Amanda a shout out. Amanda's our
• 22:45
Speaker 12: assistant sea manager. She's also she's my quarterback. I know
• 22:49
Speaker 12: Amy says she had a quarterbacks. Amanda's my quarterback and
• 22:52
Speaker 12: she quarterbacks this whole thing and she's amazing. So I
• 22:56
Speaker 12: will give a shout out to Amanda.
• 22:57
Speaker 2: Amanda from the city is awesome. I mean, any thing
• 23:00
Speaker 2: that's going on in Hurricane she's right there, and she's
• 23:02
Speaker 2: the one with the clipboard in hand and telling the Okay,
• 23:04
Speaker 2: now you go here, and you go there and everywhere,
• 23:07
Speaker 2: and she takes care of of all that stuff. And
• 23:11
Speaker 2: we just want and the reason we're throwing this out there,
• 23:13
Speaker 2: and again, we can't possibly do Every town does something
• 23:17
Speaker 2: and we can't possibly cover them all. But I know
• 23:19
Speaker 2: that you folks in I'm a little partial since it's
• 23:21
Speaker 2: part of the world I live in. You guys year
• 23:24
Speaker 2: round just do so many great things from Hurricane and
• 23:26
Speaker 2: the surrounding areas. Whether it's a Christmas, whether it's the
• 23:30
Speaker 2: food truck Fridays that you do, there's always something going
• 23:33
Speaker 2: on and anybody. That's one of the sore points with me,
• 23:36
Speaker 2: and people like Ashley offered a glance with the Chamber
• 23:39
Speaker 2: of Commerce as people say, well, there's nothing to do
• 23:41
Speaker 2: in Hurricane or Taye Valley, it's just a it's just
• 23:44
Speaker 2: a bedroom community for Huntington and Charleston. No, there is
• 23:48
Speaker 2: plenty going on every weekend and during the week and
• 23:52
Speaker 2: Hurricane speak to that, Miss.
• 23:54
Speaker 13: Amanda, absolutely, And that's the sticking point with me. Also,
• 23:59
Speaker 13: anytime someone says there's nothing to do around here, I'm like,
• 24:02
Speaker 13: I beg to differ. We have lots of things going on,
• 24:05
Speaker 13: and Valley Park does a lot of awesome things. People
• 24:09
Speaker 13: ask me why our food truck Friday is only at lunch,
• 24:11
Speaker 13: as I say, well, Vally Park has night markets in
• 24:13
Speaker 13: the evenings. Go there so we you know, we we
• 24:16
Speaker 13: help each other out. And it's it's an awesome community
• 24:19
Speaker 13: atmosphere done here all right?
• 24:21
Speaker 2: Where it's the best place to People want to go
• 24:23
Speaker 2: online and see the entire list of activities going on
• 24:26
  Speaker 2: in Hurricane.
• 24:26
Speaker 13: For the fourth gast you can do Hurricane WV dot com,
• 24:30
Speaker 13: but for the latest and greatest go to the Hurricane
• 24:33
Speaker 13: City of Hurricane facebook page.
• 24:35
Speaker 4: All right, we'll see you there.
• 24:38
Speaker 12: I will be live streaming on my personal page. I'll
• 24:41
Speaker 12: be live streaming the fireworks. They're going to be huge,
• 24:43
Speaker 12: biggest and best we've ever seen this year, so it'll
• 24:46
Speaker 12: be live streamed as well there.
• 24:48
Speaker 2: And where is the I mean, with the kind of
• 24:50
Speaker 2: fireworks Mayor and Amanda that you guys do there in
• 24:52
Speaker 2: Hurricane you can see them from pretty much anywhere, But
• 24:54
Speaker 2: where where should people They just want to gravitate toward
• 24:57
Speaker 2: the toward the downtown area.
• 24:58
Speaker 4: Where's the best place.
• 25:00
Speaker 12: Gravitate towards the downtown area. Yeah, it's just there, pull
• 25:03
Speaker 12: off side street Hurrikan Middle School. I mean I can
• 25:07
Speaker 12: McDonald's Walmart. I mean, get a little bit away from
• 25:10
Speaker 12: McDonald's and Walmart so you don't have the light behind
• 25:13
Speaker 12: you bit anywhere like that. But come to Hurricane Bridge Park,
• 25:16
Speaker 12: come to Forest for that church, come to the Dollar
• 25:18
Speaker 12: Tree on Tays Valley Road. If you don't want to

• 25:25
Speaker 12: of you on the earth. If you're at the Dollar Tree,

Speaker 2: Ballpark next Tuesday to start a series against Long Island.
• 25:52
Speaker 2: Check out Dirtybirds baseball dot Com quick text and somebody
• 25:55
Speaker 2: asked me if I saw the shout out to Charleston
• 25:58
Speaker 2: that Brett Michaels gave on this Facebook page yesterday.
• 26:01
  Speaker 4: Yeah, actually we.
• 26:02
Speaker 2: Did, and we shared that on our sister station ninety
• 26:07
Speaker 2: eight seven Mountain Wild and Wonderful Classic Rock, and it
• 26:10
Speaker 2: was a just a fantastic thing that he did for
• 26:13
Speaker 2: not only Charleston, West Virginia, but also Grantville, Pennsylvania, which
• 26:16
Speaker 2: is where he's going to be playing over the next
• 26:17
Speaker 2: couple of days. But if you want to see it

• 30:26
Speaker 2: Chuck McGill, Capitol Market, Good morning, sir, Welcome to the show.
• 30:30
Speaker 2: Good morning, Dave, thank you for being here. I want
• 30:33
Speaker 2: to talk about this all fired up event that you
• 30:35
Speaker 2: guys are doing tomorrow.
• 30:36
Speaker 6: Tell us about it, well, I mean, it's it's one
• 30:40
Speaker 6: of our favorite events of the year because at centers
• 30:43
Speaker 6: around young people. It's a young chefs ages ten to seventeen.
• 30:47
Speaker 6: So we love seeing young people in the market and
• 30:50
Speaker 6: we love seeing young future cooks that are going to
• 30:53
Speaker 6: be spread them through the Canall Valley in the Charleston area,
• 30:57
Speaker 6: you know, bringing us good food. So of the Neater
• 31:00
Speaker 6: Events is the fifth annual event. It starts off at
• 31:02
Speaker 6: noon and it's really broken down in three parts day First,
• 31:07
Speaker 6: you know, I'll make some opening remarks at twelve, and
• 31:09
Speaker 6: I'll hand each of the competitors a one hundred dollars
• 31:11
Speaker 6: gift card to shop for ingredients at Capital Market. They'll
• 31:15
Speaker 6: shop for about forty five minutes or so. Then they'll
• 31:18
Speaker 6: have an hour and a half to put together their
• 31:21
Speaker 6: ultimate backyard barbecue meal. And that's perfect obviously, but with
• 31:26
Speaker 6: the theme this is a big event tied into the
• 31:29
Speaker 6: Charleston Regatta and the four opposite sports of July weekend.
• 31:34
Speaker 6: They'll prepare that barbecue meal. We've got four celebrity staffs,
• 31:37
Speaker 6: little are celebrity judges that will be there. They'll take
• 31:40
Speaker 6: some time to taste each of those dishes, and then
• 31:43
Speaker 6: we'll we'll have some awards presentation at the end where
• 31:46
Speaker 6: we'll have best overall, most creative, and best use of
• 31:49
Speaker 6: local ingredients. So really excited for that event to get
• 31:52
Speaker 6: called picked off at noon tomorrow at Capitol Market.
• 31:54
Speaker 2: I love the concept of this, but so again, you
• 31:57
Speaker 2: know the now can you still register.
• 32:00
Speaker 4: Are you fulled up? As far as participants go.
• 32:02
Speaker 6: We would love to find a few more. We definitely
• 32:04
Speaker 6: would love to find a few more. We have enough
• 32:07
Speaker 6: grills to accommodate some more competitors. So yeah, just reach
• 32:11
Speaker 6: out to Capital Market and you go line and we'll
• 32:15
  Speaker 6: flip you up.
• 32:15
Speaker 2: And you're looking for chefs again between the ages of
• 32:18
Speaker 2: ten and seventeen, and you're going to give them all
• 32:20
Speaker 2: a one hundred dollars gift card for Capital Market. They
• 32:23
Speaker 2: get forty five minutes or so to go inside and
• 32:25
Speaker 2: shop because everything has to be purchased there at Capital Market.
• 32:29
Speaker 2: And I mean with all the different locations you get there,
• 32:31
Speaker 2: they should be able to find just about anything there.
• 32:33
Speaker 2: And then they prepare these meals and you got the
• 32:35
Speaker 2: celebrity judges unfortunately. I mean I would love to judge
• 32:39
Speaker 2: something like that. You know, I'm all about the food,
• 32:40
Speaker 2: but I'm on the air at that time, so I'm
• 32:42
Speaker 2: sure that's why I wasn't invited, right, Dad, We.
• 32:45
Speaker 6: Try to hook you up with food at anytime we can,
• 32:48
Speaker 6: I know. Yeah, and just for your listeners, like we
• 32:51
Speaker 6: provide the grill, Like there's a prep area, there's a grill,
• 32:54
Speaker 6: so you bring your own you tell you blenders, pots, plates,
• 32:59
Speaker 6: pans and eyes, spatialist cutting boards from home. But yeah,
• 33:03
Speaker 6: we'll give you one hundred dollars a shop for ingredients.
• 33:05
Speaker 6: You can put it together. You can have a team
• 33:07
Speaker 6: of assistants, so it's the the you know, the the
• 33:10
Speaker 6: kids chefs are the captains of the team. But you
• 33:13
Speaker 6: can have helpers. So if you need someone chopping up
• 33:16
Speaker 6: some vegetables or helping your car some meat up, you
• 33:19
Speaker 6: can have that help. But it's gonna be it's gonna
• 33:22
Speaker 6: be a hot one, and it's going to be, you know,
• 33:24
Speaker 6: so all fired up. Dates. We're excited for this one.
• 33:27
Speaker 2: Give us a couple of examples from years past on
• 33:29
Speaker 2: what some of these young chefs prepared like in years past.
• 33:34
Speaker 6: Dave, this is a terrible question. This is my first one.
• 33:36
Speaker 4: Oh okay, okay, I'm sorry. I didn't think about that.
• 33:39
  Speaker 4: I'm sorry, I mean no, I'm just.
• 33:43
Speaker 6: You know, it's it's my first one. But I know
• 33:45
Speaker 6: we have a lot of repeat competitors. You know, there's
• 33:49
Speaker 6: some will Liliana who's competing in her third. She's coming
• 33:54
Speaker 6: from Horace Man actually, a friend of mine that I've
• 33:58
Speaker 6: done a long time of a high school classmate, a
• 34:01
Speaker 6: son Damien, who's at Capitol High School. He's competed for
• 34:04
Speaker 6: years and actually just helped Chef Key with our Juneteenth
• 34:08
Speaker 6: Center a couple of weeks back at Capital Market, so
• 34:11
Speaker 6: he's always around. So I'm really excited to see what
• 34:14
Speaker 6: they put together. I think they're gonna get. As you
• 34:16
Speaker 6: go through accompetition's year after year, Dave, you get a
• 34:18
Speaker 6: little more bold, you get the more a little creative,
• 34:21
Speaker 6: and I think you you go through the process launch
• 34:23
Speaker 6: you understand how that you can make that one hundred
• 34:25
Speaker 6: dollars work for you throughout the market a little bit better.
• 34:28
Speaker 6: And so I think I think you're gonna continue as
• 34:30
Speaker 6: we go on through the years. You're gonna see the
• 34:32
  Speaker 6: more elevated dishes.
• 34:34
Speaker 2: And what does the grand prize winner get, the person's
• 34:37
Speaker 2: deemed the best, what do they get?
• 34:39
Speaker 6: Yeah, so we have Blinko has given us these custom
• 34:43
Speaker 6: x Blinco Awards for those three categories best overall, most creative,
• 34:47
Speaker 6: and best use of local ingredients, and then we'll have
• 34:49
Speaker 6: a people's choice these uh, these kids chefs have been
• 34:52
Speaker 6: fundraising through their pages on the Capitolmarket dot net, so
• 34:55
Speaker 6: please go on there and help them out. Uh and
• 34:58
Speaker 6: we'll have a people's choice award too for the most
• 35:00
Speaker 6: engagement on those fundraising pages.
• 35:02
Speaker 2: The texture said it sounds similar to the kids baking
• 35:04
Speaker 2: championships on the Food Network.
• 35:06
Speaker 4: I mean similar enough not to get sued, right, that's.
• 35:10
Speaker 6: Similar similar, But you know, this is what we want
• 35:12
Speaker 6: to do. We want we want young people at the market.
• 35:13
Speaker 6: We want future generations of you know, people who pursue
• 35:16
Speaker 6: the culinary exploits then go into restaurant business and maybe
• 35:20
Speaker 6: someday they'll be working at Sohos or Bogeys or Sushi
• 35:23
Speaker 6: Garden or bring their own uh you know, identity into
• 35:26
Speaker 6: the market. And you know, I'm super excited for this,
• 35:29
Speaker 6: so can Kennis Nelson has been hyping this one up
• 35:31
Speaker 6: that she's her favorite. So I'm really excited to get
• 35:35
Speaker 6: there in the morning and we'll see what it's all about.
• 35:38
  Speaker 8: All right.
• 35:38
Speaker 4: Before we let you go, I know you're really busy.
• 35:40
Speaker 2: You've got several projects going on over there that's trying
• 35:42
Speaker 2: to get taken care of you and I talked about
• 35:43
Speaker 2: that earlier this morning. But let's let's talk about the
• 35:47
Speaker 2: hours and other things going on with the fourth of
• 35:49
Speaker 2: you guys who are actually going to be closed on
• 35:50
Speaker 2: July fourth, Is that right?
• 35:52
Speaker 6: We'll be closed on July fourth, will be We'll operate
• 35:55
Speaker 6: normal hours today and tomorrow the ten to sixth, and
• 35:57
Speaker 6: Sunday we'll be open at noon to five. We will
• 36:00
Speaker 6: observe fourth of July on Saturday, and then we've you know,
• 36:04
Speaker 6: going into our usual you know summer. We'll have a
• 36:06
Speaker 6: let's let's get cooking event with Chef Paul. I should
• 36:09
Speaker 6: have mentioned too that Chef Paul will MC the all
• 36:11
Speaker 6: Fired Up events. Tomorrow we'll have Bjaj there for music
• 36:16
Speaker 6: h And then my big task today, Dave, is to
• 36:18
Speaker 6: find as many bottles of water and as many missing
• 36:21
Speaker 6: fans as I can find to keep everybody fool. Those
• 36:25
Speaker 6: girls turned up and then the times will be turned
• 36:28
Speaker 6: up outside. So but there's there's covering at the market,
• 36:31
Speaker 6: so please, and there's the indoor market, so come down shop,
• 36:33
Speaker 6: get cool, hang out with us. We'd love to have you.
• 36:36
Speaker 4: All right real quick.
• 36:37
Speaker 2: If if somebody is maybe planning their own little get
• 36:40
Speaker 2: together at home, I know a lot of folks are
• 36:42
Speaker 2: gonna be grilling out and whatever. You go over to
• 36:44
Speaker 2: Capital Market, there's any number of things that that that
• 36:48
Speaker 2: you need that are necessities. Of course, you know about
• 36:50
Speaker 2: the meats, you know about the cheeses. If you're gonna
• 36:52
Speaker 2: pick up some soda, you're going to pick up uh,
• 36:55
Speaker 2: some some craft beer, some wine.
• 36:56
Speaker 4: It's all. It's all there at Capital Market. Bye.
• 37:00
Speaker 6: I picked up some kangaroo meats this week and had
• 37:04
Speaker 6: kangaroos tacos at home, made by meat from Capital Market.
• 37:08
Speaker 4: Kangaroo tacos, Chuck, kangaroo tacos.
• 37:12
Speaker 6: We had kangaroo and ground beef. We were calling them
• 37:14
Speaker 6: ruined moo tacos, ruined mos. So yeah, yeah, so mich
• 37:18
Speaker 6: let's get it. Let's get it out there. Yeah, come
• 37:20
Speaker 6: come pick up some kangaroo meat. You get that, you have.
• 37:22
Speaker 6: The market literally has everything from that down to the
• 37:25
  Speaker 6: kangaroo meet.
• 37:25
Speaker 2: It will put a little bounce in your steps. See
• 37:27
Speaker 2: what I did there, Chuck, Wow, it was bad. Chuck McGill,
• 37:32
Speaker 2: Capitol Market. Happy fourth and happy two fifty. By the way,
• 37:35
Speaker 2: your friend and mine, Dave Wilson of talk Line. I
• 37:38
Speaker 2: was on a call with Dave earlier this morning. He
• 37:40
Speaker 2: asked me to ask you about the great potato salad incident.
• 37:45
Speaker 6: That is an off the air story, I know, but yeah,
• 37:49
  Speaker 6: that's that's a good one.
• 37:51
Speaker 4: He told me the story.
• 37:52
Speaker 2: And all I'm going to say about it is, if
• 37:54
Speaker 2: you're over at Capital Market for the all Fired Up
• 37:57
Speaker 2: event tomorrow or any point, I'm Chuck McGill and say,
• 38:01
Speaker 2: tell me the potato salad story.
• 38:02
Speaker 4: And you can thank Dave Wilson for that.
• 38:03
Speaker 2: By the way, and he's actually listening right now. He
• 38:06
Speaker 2: said he's going to listen to the stream in Morgantown
• 38:07
Speaker 2: prior to talk line. So I told him I was
• 38:09
Speaker 2: going to do it, and I did it. You don't
• 38:11
Speaker 2: want to say anything to mister Wilson.
• 38:13
Speaker 6: Well, this is why Dave Allen is my favorite.
• 38:15
  Speaker 8: Dave.
• 38:15
Speaker 2: There you go, Chuck McGill, Capital Market, appreciate it. Man,

• 38:44
Speaker 2: spot there asking about things in yours past, forgetting that

Speaker 2: host bad host, forgetting that he's only been in that

Speaker 2: job for alimited amount of time.
• 38:52
Speaker 4: But it sounds like a really cool event.
• 38:54
Speaker 2: And again, so basically in case she joins, what they

Speaker 2: do is they have these youngsters ages ten to seventeen,
• 39:01
Speaker 2: and they give them each a one hundred dollars gift card.
• 39:04
Speaker 2: They get to go inside Capital Market for forty five minutes.
• 39:07
Speaker 2: All the ingredients have to come through there, and then

Speaker 2: they have they come out and they fire it up
• 39:11
Speaker 2: on the grill and they prepare the foods given bout
• 39:13
Speaker 2: an hour hour and a half to prepare some really

Speaker 2: the news here the Kanawa County Emergency Ambulance Authorities a
• 42:38
Speaker 2: new director didn't waste a whole lot of time and
• 42:41
Speaker 2: taking charge. Now we have a story posted about at
• 42:43
Speaker 2: wv metronews dot com. Lance Wheeler, of course, is the
• 42:46
Speaker 2: new director and former canawc Anty commissioner. He has fired
• 42:51
Speaker 2: the two workers and the John Lucas case, Elissa Middleton
• 42:54
Speaker 2: and Raymond Scott the authority and Lance really can't say
• 42:59
Speaker 2: much beyond that because it is a personnel matter. You
• 43:02
Speaker 2: can read the full release. We have it posted as
• 43:04
Speaker 2: part of the story at WV metronews dot com. Now,
• 43:07
Speaker 2: Elyssa Middleton was charged with voluntary manslaughter, aggregated vehicular homicide
• 43:13
Speaker 2: and fleeing the scene of an accident causing death and
• 43:16
Speaker 2: the death of John Lucas, and those are all felmenies
• 43:20
Speaker 2: and she is free on one hundred thousand dollar bills.
• 43:23
Speaker 2: She's doing court July twenty eighth. Her trial is sent
• 43:26
Speaker 2: to begin August seventeenth, and again you can read the
• 43:28
Speaker 2: story at WV metronews dot com. And I offered up
• 43:32
Speaker 2: an opinion a couple of times on the show. It's
• 43:36
Speaker 2: been a very it's been a WorldWind of activities for
• 43:39
Speaker 2: the ambulance service the last couple of days, Okay, the
• 43:42
Speaker 2: last couple of months, I should say, with the tragic
• 43:44
Speaker 2: death of John Lucas. And then last week there was
• 43:47
Speaker 2: a board meeting held and they opted Almonica Mason, the
• 43:52
Speaker 2: former director, reside and they opted to name Lance Wheeler,
• 43:56
Speaker 2: who at the time was a canawg Anty commissioner, to
• 43:58
Speaker 2: be the director of the Ambulance Authority, meaning that mister
• 44:01
Speaker 2: Wheeler had to then resign his position on Kinan County
• 44:05
Speaker 2: commission More on that coming up in a couple of moments.
• 44:07
Speaker 4: So Lance Wheeler is the.
• 44:09
Speaker 2: New director, and Jason Surgent, who had been serving as
• 44:12
Speaker 2: the interim director, is now basically taking over like a
• 44:17
Speaker 2: deputy director, more of the operations aspect of it, because
• 44:21
Speaker 2: they need somebody to straighten out the finances because this
• 44:26
Speaker 2: is an organization that deals, I mean, top level organization,
• 44:31
Speaker 2: the largest county in state of West Virginia, operating in
• 44:33
Speaker 2: about two million dollar deficit, and you can't you can't
• 44:36
Speaker 2: get people, you can't retain people if you have that
• 44:39
Speaker 2: kind of a deficit and there's just not enough money
• 44:41
  Speaker 2: to go around.
• 44:42
  Speaker 4: So they are.
• 44:44
Speaker 2: They are working diligently to try to fix some things there.
• 44:47
Speaker 2: And there were some people social media chatter about, you know,
• 44:51
Speaker 2: Lance Wheeler taking over that role and what does he
• 44:55
Speaker 2: know about it being an EMT and so on and
• 44:57
Speaker 2: so over. Well, he knows budgets, and right now that's
• 45:01
Speaker 2: what that organization needs. And I'm an editorial on my part,
• 45:06
Speaker 2: I think, you know, keeping Jason Surgent on and the
• 45:08
Speaker 2: others with the can handle that aspect of it. But
• 45:11
Speaker 2: right now it's all about money, and it's all about
• 45:13
Speaker 2: trying to straighten it up and trying to write the
• 45:15
Speaker 2: ship or it's going to be in a world of trouble.
• 45:18
Speaker 2: So I, for one, applaud the move as far as
• 45:21
Speaker 2: making Lance Wheeler the director. You can go to read
• 45:24
Speaker 2: the story on what we just talked about with the
• 45:26

• 46:00
Speaker 2: had the news and you may have heard about this
• 46:02
Speaker 2: horrific case out of Venton County in Ohio. I mean,
• 46:07
Speaker 2: just a terrible, terrible case. Numerous kids, varying ages, found
• 46:14
Speaker 2: residing in a very very tiny house. So in the
• 46:17
Speaker 2: house was in such bad shape that the neighbors in
• 46:21
Speaker 2: this small area Venton County, Ohio thought that the house
• 46:25
Speaker 2: was abandoned and there were actually apparently people staying in
• 46:28
Speaker 2: there in squalor. It's making national news. I heard the
• 46:30
Speaker 2: report on ABC News about it earlier this morning. We're
• 46:34
Speaker 2: going to talk to Kelly McIlhenny, who is a reporter
• 46:38
Speaker 2: with WWKTV thirteen about that there is a big announcement
• 46:42
Speaker 2: that has a lot of people talking about rare earth minerals.

Speaker 2: built in Greenbrier County. We are going to talk to

• 47:28
Speaker 2: a couple of texts here, Tex says the other ambulance
• 47:34
Speaker 2: girl may have a legal cause for unjust discharge. I
• 47:37
Speaker 2: see a lawsuit here? Well, I mean, look I am
• 47:41
Speaker 2: not a legal expert by any stretch of the imagination,
• 47:44
Speaker 2: but I think you're gonna hear a lot about legality
• 47:47
Speaker 2: issues with the ambulance service over the next year or so.
• 47:51
  Speaker 2: And I don't know if it's wrongful discharge there. I
• 47:54
  Speaker 2: don't know if it's going after other p I don't know.
• 47:56
  Speaker 2: I don't have a crystal ball, but I do appreciate
• 47:59
Speaker 2: the text and we'll see what happens.
• 48:07
  Speaker 1: Tex.
• 48:08
Speaker 2: I don't mean to laugh about it, but just the
• 48:09
Speaker 2: way it was phrase takes his lands is going to

Speaker 4: Well, that may very well be the case as well.
• 48:16
Speaker 4: It could very well be the case.
• 48:18

• 48:26

• 48:26

Speaker 2: Bob Thompson, the iconic Bob Thompson, will be in concert
• 49:07
Speaker 2: tonight Stargane at six Riley Babst will be there at

• 49:20
Speaker 2: I appreciate the text from one of our for one
• 49:23
Speaker 2: of our folks here. For some reason, I said our

• 49:30
Speaker 4: They're not there in South Charleston. I don't know why
• 49:31

• 50:00
Speaker 2: a lot of people that have asked about the security,
• 50:04
Speaker 2: emergency services, so on and so forth with these two
• 50:07
Speaker 2: big events going on in Charleston at the same time,
• 50:10
Speaker 2: and the news team was able to do an interview
• 50:12
Speaker 2: with Charleston Police Chief Scott Dempsey about that. So the
• 50:16
Speaker 2: city police are going to be out primarily with the
• 50:20
Speaker 2: Regatta stuff. They're going to assist at the Capital celebration,
• 50:24
Speaker 2: but that the bulk of that, as far as security
• 50:27
Speaker 2: and things of that nature, is going to be handled
• 50:29
Speaker 2: by Capitol Police and also by the West Virginia State Police.
• 50:32
Speaker 2: But again, this effort like this, and you heard the
• 50:34
Speaker 2: mayor talking about earlier, you've got to have a cooperation
• 50:39
Speaker 2: between the two entities, between the two events. And as
• 50:42
Speaker 2: I said, it's going to be very, very crowded, and
