- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Malay with Fexingo — I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Hey, Lucas — last time we did directions, right? Lucas: Yeah, we covered 'Di mana pasar?' and 'Di mana hospital?' — asking where places are. Luna: Right, 'Di mana' means 'where is'. I remember that. Lucas: Exactly. And if Fexingo is helping you make real progress with Malay, you can support the show at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. It keeps us ad-free and helps us keep making these episodes. Luna: Yeah, every bit helps. Anyway, let's add more places today — like 'bank'. Lucas: Good. So 'bank' in Malay is 'bank' — same spelling, but pronounced with a slight Malay accent: 'bank'. Luna: Bank. Okay. Lucas: And 'where is the bank?' — 'Di mana bank?' Luna: Di mana bank? Lucas: Perfect. And 'school' is 'sekolah'. Luna: Sekolah. Di mana sekolah? Lucas: Yes! So 'Di mana sekolah?' means 'Where is the school?' Luna: That's easy. What about 'mosque'? I think I know this one. Lucas: Ohh, go for it. Luna: Is it 'masjid'? Lucas: Yes! 'Masjid'. So 'Di mana masjid?' Luna: Di mana masjid? Lucas: You got it. Now, 'bus station' is 'stesen bas'. Luna: Stesen bas. Di mana stesen bas? Lucas: Exactly. Let's practice all four in a row. Repeat after me: Di mana bank? Luna: Di mana bank? Lucas: Di mana sekolah? Luna: Di mana sekolah? Lucas: Di mana masjid? Luna: Di mana masjid? Lucas: Di mana stesen bas? Luna: Di mana stesen bas? Lucas: Good. Now imagine you're at a market and you need to find the bus station. You ask someone: 'Di mana stesen bas?' Luna: Di mana stesen bas? — they'd point you in the right direction. Lucas: Exactly. Let's do a quick scene. I'm a stranger, you ask me where the school is. Luna: Okay. Di mana sekolah? Lucas: Oh, sekolah — di sana. That means 'over there'. Luna: Di sana — I remember that from earlier episodes. Lucas: Good recall. So today we added bank, sekolah, masjid, and stesen bas. Luna: I feel much more confident asking for places now. Lucas: That's the goal. Practice these phrases, and next time you're in a Malay-speaking area, try asking someone 'Di mana bank?' or 'Di mana masjid?' Luna: For sure. Thanks, Lucas. See you all next episode! Lucas: Thanks for listening to Learn Malay with Fexingo. Keep practicing, and we'll chat again soon.
