- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus. Playfake, go to roll right, dumps.
- 0:07Speaker 2: It off into the right flass to Michael Bumpers, who
- 0:09Speaker 2: bounces off a one tackler catch him side the forty
- 0:12Speaker 2: down of the thirty five yard line.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Matt pumpfake's looking at the gold line.
- 0:17Speaker 1: He throws it into the m zone. Touchdown Seahawks.
- 0:20Speaker 2: It's Michael Bumpas with a diving catching the end zone.
- 0:23Speaker 2: A ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpers, and the kid
- 0:27Speaker 2: out of Washington State has found himself a place on
- 0:30Speaker 2: this team.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Now, here's your host, Nasa Chobee.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Welcome in, Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk. The
- 0:37Speaker 3: Seahawks getting ready to take on the Arizona Cardinals, hoping
- 0:40Speaker 3: to get back in the wind call after a tough
- 0:42Speaker 3: lossing into Cincinnati Bengals last week.
- 0:44Speaker 1: But that was last week.
- 0:45Speaker 3: The Seahawks were back at practice this week, getting ready
- 0:48Speaker 3: to go taking on those Arizona Cardinals.
- 0:50Speaker 1: What's on tap? What's on tap?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Bump These Cardinals man one in five place in the
- 1:00Speaker 3: NFC West, but they're kind of it's an interesting one
- 1:03Speaker 3: to five man because they haven't been dogged every week.
- 1:05Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. They've showed up, They've competed.
- 1:07Speaker 3: They lost to the Commanders, Giants, beat the Cowboys, lost
- 1:11Speaker 3: to the Niners at Bengals and Rams. But a tough
- 1:14Speaker 3: year for first year head coach Jonathan Gannon. They're in
- 1:16Speaker 3: last place, two heartbreaking losses, two games that they've been
- 1:20Speaker 3: competitive in.
- 1:21Speaker 1: They've kind of shown up.
- 1:22Speaker 3: They were in the Rams game, in the Niners game
- 1:25Speaker 3: for a little bit, then they just kind of fell
- 1:27Speaker 3: apart at the end. But they're hard to get a
- 1:29Speaker 3: read on. You know, I'll say this off top. I
- 1:31Speaker 3: think this is a game the Sea Oak should win
- 1:33Speaker 3: and this should be a get right game for him.
- 1:35Speaker 1: But we were just saying it off there.
- 1:36Speaker 3: You got to respect the opponent, especially coming off a
- 1:39Speaker 3: lost bump. But what have you seen from the Cardinals,
- 1:41Speaker 3: specifically in their last game against the Rams.
- 1:44Speaker 4: The Rams, when you think of the Rams, right, you
- 1:46Speaker 4: think of offense, but you don't necessarily think of running
- 1:48Speaker 4: the ball, and they were able to do that against
- 1:51Speaker 4: the Cardinals. Rookie not rookie, but second year a guy,
- 1:53Speaker 4: Kyvin Williams rush for one hundred and fifty eight yards.
- 1:55Speaker 1: He is banged up now, but he did his thing.
- 1:59Speaker 4: He produced It was the best individual performance in nearly
- 2:02Speaker 4: three years, despite just getting four yards from two carries
- 2:05Speaker 4: in the first half. Man, that dude was balling it
- 2:08Speaker 4: round four season high one hundred and seventy nine yards
- 2:10Speaker 4: and ran the ball twenty five times in the second half,
- 2:12Speaker 4: including at one point eight straight runs.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Man.
- 2:14Speaker 4: They kept giving it to the guy and say, run
- 2:16Speaker 4: that thing, Arizona.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It was tight.
- 2:18Speaker 4: I remember looking at this game where we're in the
- 2:20Speaker 4: studio watching him, and it was tight at first. Arizona
- 2:23Speaker 4: actually led nine to six at halftime with Joshua Dobbs.
- 2:26Speaker 4: He threw a red zone interception and fumbled on his
- 2:28Speaker 4: sector in the second half and the La Rams ran
- 2:30Speaker 4: away with that thing Man, winning twenty six to nine.
- 2:34Speaker 4: The Rams scored twenty one points in the second half
- 2:37Speaker 4: in Cooper Cup.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Welcome back. I think it's a second game.
- 2:39Speaker 4: He had one hundred and forty eight yards and seven receptions.
- 2:42Speaker 4: The Cardinals couldn't get much going. Dobbs was twenty one
- 2:44Speaker 4: to forty one. I'm surprised for allowing him to throw
- 2:47Speaker 4: the ball that much, right, twenty one and thirty five yards,
- 2:51Speaker 4: one interception, and he was their leading rusher with forty
- 2:54Speaker 4: seven yards and seven carries. That's not good. To make
- 2:57Speaker 4: things worse for the Cardinals. Their team is still pretty
- 3:00Speaker 4: banged up. You got cornerback Antonio Hamilton, he has an
- 3:03Speaker 4: injured grown in the fourth quarter, both starting safety set
- 3:06Speaker 4: out Jalen Thompson missed his first game of the season
- 3:09Speaker 4: with a handstring, Buddha Bakers on injured reserve. These guys
- 3:12Speaker 4: are banged up, and then the guy who they expect
- 3:14Speaker 4: to run the ball, James Connor, also set off for
- 3:17Speaker 4: the first time this season after going on the IR
- 3:20Speaker 4: The russcu'se not the Rams. The Cardinals are banged up,
- 3:24Speaker 4: but like we said, respect the opponents.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and fresh off the presses today at Arizona. Looks
- 3:30Speaker 3: like Buddha Baker has now returned to practice. Doesn't mean
- 3:32Speaker 3: he's gonna play against the Seahawks on Sunday. Would be
- 3:35Speaker 3: kind of a nice homecoming for Buddha, who obviously played
- 3:38Speaker 3: at Bellevue High School and then went on to start
- 3:40Speaker 3: University of Washington before getting drafted and paid by the
- 3:43Speaker 3: Arizona Cardinals. So we'll stay tuned on Buddha if he's
- 3:45Speaker 3: coming back, and then Kyler Murray returned to practice as well,
- 3:48Speaker 3: but I would not expect to see him.
- 3:50Speaker 1: For a very long time.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Well at least, you know, I don't think they're gonna
- 3:54Speaker 3: rush anything back at this point. I feel like I
- 3:57Speaker 3: don't think this season, none of the players who are
- 4:00Speaker 3: playing would say that they are punting the season away.
- 4:03Speaker 1: But I don't think there's.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Any rush to get a guy like Kler Murray, who
- 4:06Speaker 3: needs who's their franchise back on the field, especially with
- 4:08Speaker 3: a season like this.
- 4:09Speaker 1: So we'll see. We got to respect the opponent.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I think the Seahawks have a better roster, but they've
- 4:14Speaker 3: done some good things and they got some good players,
- 4:16Speaker 3: and we'll jump in his head to head comparison. Right here,
- 4:19Speaker 3: we're looking offensively, the Cardinals are actually better than you'd
- 4:23Speaker 3: think looking at their record. They're fifteenth in the NFL,
- 4:25Speaker 3: so they're right in the middle, essentially averaging three hundred
- 4:29Speaker 3: and thirty one yards per game. They're sixth in rush
- 4:32Speaker 3: offense one hundred and forty one yards per game, which
- 4:34Speaker 3: is one that really surprised me. That might just be
- 4:36Speaker 3: you know, in games when they've gotten behind. They just
- 4:38Speaker 3: ran that thing and you have a quarterback that's also running,
- 4:40Speaker 3: but still a really good stat six In the NFL,
- 4:43Speaker 3: they're twenty fifth when it comes to passing offense one
- 4:45Speaker 3: hundred and ninety yards per game, and they're twentieth in
- 4:47Speaker 3: points per game at nineteen point five. When you flip
- 4:50Speaker 3: it over on the Seahawks side, Seahawks are trending a
- 4:52Speaker 3: little bit back towards where they were. They're fourteenth overall
- 4:55Speaker 3: in total offense three hundred thirty two yards a game,
- 4:58Speaker 3: twentieth running the ball dred four yards a game, eleven
- 5:01Speaker 3: passing ball to twenty seven a game, and they're eighth
- 5:04Speaker 3: in points per game at twenty four. That dropped a
- 5:06Speaker 3: little bit after and not scoring a lot of points
- 5:08Speaker 3: against the Cincinnati Bengals. But looking at these two teams offensively, bump,
- 5:13Speaker 3: it's actually pretty It's a lot closer than you think.
- 5:15Speaker 3: They seem to seem really even offensively. But then you
- 5:18Speaker 3: look at the personnel, and we're gonna get in a matchress.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So you look at the Seahawks and Gino and DK
- 5:21Speaker 3: and Tyler and Kanine and.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Jackson fit the jig butt Now Jake Bubboll.
- 5:25Speaker 3: You look at all these guys and you look at
- 5:26Speaker 3: Arizona and you're not gonna have Connor anymore. DeAndre Hopkins
- 5:30Speaker 3: is not in the building anymore. You know what I'm saying.
- 5:32Speaker 3: They have some good receivers, which we'll get to later.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Zach Ertz is there. He's a little bit older now.
- 5:37Speaker 3: It's just not the same and especially without Kyler Murray.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Joshua Dobbs is doing his thing as much as he can.
- 5:42Speaker 3: But I'm actually surprised where their numbers are at. But
- 5:45Speaker 3: I definitely give the Seahawks the advantage over comparing both offenses.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm really surprised at the overall rank of their offense,
- 5:52Speaker 4: and especially in the run game Man number six overall,
- 5:55Speaker 4: buck forty one. The Hawks would love to be in
- 5:57Speaker 4: their shoes there. Let's go round the defense now. Hawks
- 6:00Speaker 4: are sixteenth overall, fifth winning against the run, and they
- 6:03Speaker 4: are twenty eighth against the pass and eighteenth when it
- 6:07Speaker 4: comes to points allowed. For the Cardinals twenty eighth overall,
- 6:09Speaker 4: twenty fourth against the run, twenty second against the pass,
- 6:12Speaker 4: in twenty seventh when it comes giving a points or
- 6:14Speaker 4: giving them twenty seven points per game.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Both teams have four interceptions to their name. Both teams
- 6:21Speaker 1: have a bunch of penalties.
- 6:23Speaker 4: I was talking about it earlier today with Stacy that
- 6:26Speaker 4: if the Hawks can clean something up, I think it'd
- 6:28Speaker 4: be the penalties. Had a couple of costly ones last week.
- 6:32Speaker 4: But I don't think they're not a disciplined team. But
- 6:35Speaker 4: that's a sign of an undisciplined team. So just clean
- 6:37Speaker 4: it up, man. We know we know they can play
- 6:39Speaker 4: some clean football.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yeah, no question about it.
- 6:41Speaker 3: And looking at the defensive numbers you just ran through bump,
- 6:44Speaker 3: the Seahawks definitely had that advantage. They're playing a lot
- 6:46Speaker 3: of good ball, especially given the performance they just had
- 6:48Speaker 3: against Cincinnati Cardinals. Will struggled a little bit, man, They've
- 6:51Speaker 3: struggled were guys, especially against the Rams last week where
- 6:53Speaker 3: they kind of just imposed their will against them running
- 6:55Speaker 3: the football. So again, advantage Seahawks in terms of the
- 6:58Speaker 3: head to head comparison. But there's a reason you play
- 7:00Speaker 3: the games. And I was just chatting with the producer
- 7:02Speaker 3: for my counterpart with the Arizona Cardinals and these games
- 7:06Speaker 3: with Seattle. Man, the Seattle's won three or four, but
- 7:10Speaker 3: nothing's guaranteed. It's a divisional matchup. There's been a lot
- 7:12Speaker 3: of weird games in the history of these two teams,
- 7:14Speaker 3: even when the Seahawks will winning Super Bowls. So definitely
- 7:17Speaker 3: don't count the Cardinals out. And while we're talking about
- 7:19Speaker 3: old games, let's.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Know the history, no your history.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Seahawks lead the all time series twenty five to twenty
- 7:26Speaker 3: two and one and have won four of their last
- 7:29Speaker 3: five meetings. Last time these guys matched up, the Seahawks
- 7:32Speaker 3: went down to the desert beating the Cardinals thirty one
- 7:34Speaker 3: twenty one last November. And this where things are real good,
- 7:38Speaker 3: things are rolling. The Seahawks has picked up their sixth
- 7:40Speaker 3: win of the year. They went to six and three
- 7:42Speaker 3: at that point, and honestly, this was one of the
- 7:46Speaker 3: times last season where you really started to feel like
- 7:49Speaker 3: Gino Smith has got something. I don't remember if you
- 7:51Speaker 3: remember this game bump. He has a really unlucky ball,
- 7:54Speaker 3: It gets tipped, intercepted, ran back for a touchdown. Cardinals
- 7:57Speaker 3: take the lead, and right when you kind of feel
- 7:59Speaker 3: like things could be going the other way, No genocolm
- 8:02Speaker 3: cool and collected responds on offense with drives of seventy
- 8:06Speaker 3: five eighty one eighty five yards down the stretch, pushing
- 8:09Speaker 3: the Seahawks to that thirty one to twenty one victory.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Gino had a great day two hundred seventy five yards
- 8:14Speaker 3: two touchdowns while Canine rookie had one hundred nine yards
- 8:17Speaker 3: and two touchdowns. No fanse got in the action when
- 8:20Speaker 3: ninety six yards on five receptions. Jordan Brooks laid the
- 8:23Speaker 3: team in tackles and u Chenna Nuosu had two picks
- 8:26Speaker 3: for excuming two sacks of Kyler Murray in that game.
- 8:29Speaker 3: So hoping to see a lot more of that. Hoping
- 8:31Speaker 3: to see Gino bounce back performance and handle things against
- 8:33Speaker 3: these Cardinals. But things are always tough in the NFC West.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Both check on everybody else. What's the word side?
- 8:44Speaker 2: The Seahawks were the NFC West champs.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Again, what's the word in the West? On Hawk Talk?
- 8:52Speaker 4: Ah Let's take a look at the division man. The
- 8:55Speaker 4: Hawks took an l last week but sold it. The
- 8:57Speaker 4: San Francisco forty nine is there now five in one.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Seattle was right behind them at three and two. The
- 9:02Speaker 4: Rams are three and three and the Cardinals are one
- 9:05Speaker 4: and five.
- 9:05Speaker 1: He had a good game last week.
- 9:06Speaker 4: The forty nine ers went over to Cleveland, but they
- 9:10Speaker 4: took a loss. Man Brock Purty got his first loss
- 9:13Speaker 4: as a starter in the NFL. Man, and it snapped
- 9:16Speaker 4: the forty nine to fifteen game regular season win streak
- 9:20Speaker 4: twenty three year old Party Man.
- 9:21Speaker 1: He's had such a great.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Start to his career, perfect in the regular season, said
- 9:25Speaker 4: ten regular season starts, all of them wins. Has the
- 9:28Speaker 4: highest passer rating through those ten games, one hundred and
- 9:31Speaker 4: twenty one point one. But he took an l and
- 9:34Speaker 4: he lost to PJ Walker.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Man.
- 9:35Speaker 4: PJ Walker such an interesting quarterback. I mean, I think
- 9:38Speaker 4: he started with the Carolina Panthers. Was he in the
- 9:41Speaker 4: AFL or wherever that league was called a.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I think he's af XFL all of them when he
- 9:47Speaker 3: was doing his thing.
- 9:48Speaker 4: Well, one of them things Man and PJ Walker got
- 9:51Speaker 4: himself a win. But things started off well for the
- 9:53Speaker 4: forty nine ers. They took the opening possession eighty four
- 9:55Speaker 4: yards on five plays. Christian McCaffrey another touchdown for Rock Party.
- 10:00Speaker 4: After a couple of missfield goals, the forty nine Ers
- 10:02Speaker 4: increased their lead to ten zero with a twenty five
- 10:04Speaker 4: yard field goal from Jake Moody.
- 10:06Speaker 1: The Browns say, you know, we got a answer for you.
- 10:08Speaker 4: They put together a solid drive five plays eighty three yards,
- 10:12Speaker 4: ending with the Kareem Hunt touchdown that was set about
- 10:15Speaker 4: fifty eight yard pass to Amari Cooper, one of the
- 10:17Speaker 4: more underrated receivers in the league.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Too.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Man, I think Amari Cooper doesn't get the love that
- 10:21Speaker 4: he deserves. But he is paid though, so maybe he's
- 10:24Speaker 4: not really ready if because my man is paid. That
- 10:27Speaker 4: made the score ten to seven to Both teams went
- 10:29Speaker 4: into the half and the second half, the Browns will
- 10:31Speaker 4: put together four field goal drives and left the door
- 10:34Speaker 4: open for the forty nine is a slave. The only
- 10:37Speaker 4: touchdown in the second half for the forty nine Ers
- 10:39Speaker 4: came after Brown's interception that.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Leonor ran back to the eight yard line.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Jordan Mason would score a rushing touchdown on the next
- 10:47Speaker 4: play after Dustin Hopkins for fourth field goal.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Today, Goodness Graces, all they did was kickfield goals.
- 10:53Speaker 4: This feels like a Friday night game in the Northwest
- 10:55Speaker 4: when his igning between two high schools.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Man, goodness gracious, the Niners will go.
- 11:00Speaker 4: We'll get the ball back down nineteen to seventeen with
- 11:03Speaker 4: above forty remaining. Then brock Purty will lead the Niners
- 11:06Speaker 4: down the field getting to the Browns twenty three yard line.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Heartbreaking for the forty nine ers. Man, this is crazy.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Jake Boody within missed a game winning field goal forty
- 11:14Speaker 4: three yard as time expires. I saw the reaction of
- 11:17Speaker 4: Cleveland fans all across the country.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I didn't believe it. They didn't believe it.
- 11:23Speaker 4: That was an interesting game, but we knew this was
- 11:25Speaker 4: going to be a tough one, right because the Cleveland
- 11:27Speaker 4: Browns defense is something special. You got a great defensive line.
- 11:30Speaker 4: They played a lot of man on the back end.
- 11:32Speaker 4: I think that's what forced a lot of these bath
- 11:34Speaker 4: throws by brock Purty. He's just seeing these zones and
- 11:37Speaker 4: influencing guys going left and right.
- 11:39Speaker 1: He didn't have those windows that used to see him.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Pretty finished to day with was twelve to twenty seven,
- 11:44Speaker 4: four Buck twenty five, one touchdown, one interception. McCaffrey had
- 11:47Speaker 4: forty three yards and eleven carries, and Brendan and Ayuk
- 11:50Speaker 4: had four receptions for seventy six yards.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Yeah, man, bump, I listen, we were all sitting there
- 11:56Speaker 3: during our post game show was on the air at
- 11:57Speaker 3: that point and right when that's score and that kick
- 12:01Speaker 3: was missed. We're all like, I feel a little better. Yeah,
- 12:04Speaker 3: feel just like a little bit better. And I feel
- 12:06Speaker 3: like all Seahawks fans kind of felt that same way.
- 12:09Speaker 3: And I'm not saying it because the fort nine Ers
- 12:11Speaker 3: are a good football team. But did the Browns try
- 12:14Speaker 3: to give everybody a little blueprint? Maybe I don't know,
- 12:17Speaker 3: I don't know. Maybe it's playing man, maybe it's party
- 12:19Speaker 3: throwing the ball outside the numbers.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 12:21Speaker 3: All I know is made Seahawk fans feel a little
- 12:23Speaker 3: bit better. I wish the Seahawks would have won, obviously,
- 12:25Speaker 3: would have been able to gain a game in the standings.
- 12:28Speaker 3: But we'll save that for another day. Let's get back
- 12:31Speaker 3: into these Cardinals. Figure out how they match up against
- 12:33Speaker 3: your Seattle Seahawks. Manus man up on Hawk Talk, or
- 12:46Speaker 3: to start like we always do, looking at the quarterbacks,
- 12:48Speaker 3: We're gonna start with Joshua Dobbs taking on the Seahawks defense. Now, Dobbs,
- 12:53Speaker 3: he's had an interesting kind of route to get to
- 12:55Speaker 3: this point. He was a fourth round pick out of
- 12:56Speaker 3: the University of Tennessee, spent his first two seasons in Pittsburgh,
- 13:00Speaker 3: and spent last year with the Titans.
- 13:02Speaker 1: But he hasn't been a full time starter.
- 13:04Speaker 3: He only started two games in Tennessee in place of
- 13:06Speaker 3: Ryan Tannehill and was not a starter in Pittsburgh, And
- 13:10Speaker 3: this is the first time he's really had that opportunity
- 13:12Speaker 3: to step up. As you know, the Cardinals obviously are
- 13:14Speaker 3: without being without Kyler Murley this whole season. So while
- 13:18Speaker 3: Dobbs has done some good things, bump when you watch
- 13:20Speaker 3: their games, he's really struggled with accuracy and crippling fourth
- 13:25Speaker 3: quarter turnovers. Like I looked it up, and it's not
- 13:28Speaker 3: good in winning time. Dobbs this season has four excuse me,
- 13:32Speaker 3: has five fourth quarter turnovers. He has two fourth quarter
- 13:35Speaker 3: turnovers in each of the last two games against the
- 13:38Speaker 3: Rams and the Bengals games that they were in. He
- 13:41Speaker 3: in an interception, in a fumble against the Rams and
- 13:43Speaker 3: against Cincinnati had a fumble and an interception, all of
- 13:46Speaker 3: those in the fourth quarter. So it's not surprising when
- 13:49Speaker 3: you look at it and you see that the Cardinals
- 13:50Speaker 3: are the worst fourth quarter team in the National Football League,
- 13:53Speaker 3: being outscored sixty four to seven.
- 13:57Speaker 1: So I actually like Dobbs. I think he's an athlete.
- 14:00Speaker 3: I think he gives them a little bit of different
- 14:02Speaker 3: dimension in terms of how he runs the football, but
- 14:05Speaker 3: turning the ball over Layton games, what is winning time,
- 14:07Speaker 3: is really hard to do. He's completing sixty two point
- 14:10Speaker 3: eight percent of his passes, which ranks twenty fifth in
- 14:12Speaker 3: the National Football League. On the year, He's won twenty
- 14:14Speaker 3: three for one to ninety six two hundred and fifteen yards,
- 14:18Speaker 3: six touchdowns and three interceptions. He's been sacked eleven times.
- 14:22Speaker 3: And here's the kicker. Though he has fumbled six. His
- 14:24Speaker 3: six fumbles are second in the National Football League. So
- 14:29Speaker 3: his issue right now is turning the ball over, which
- 14:31Speaker 3: which should bode well for the Seahawks defense, who's coming
- 14:33Speaker 3: off their best game of the year back to back. Actually,
- 14:36Speaker 3: once you include New York against since he they held
- 14:39Speaker 3: the likes of Joe Burrow tow one hundred and eighty
- 14:40Speaker 3: five yards one interception, held the Bengals to fifty two
- 14:44Speaker 3: yards and three points in the second half, a total
- 14:46Speaker 3: of two hundred fourteen yards for the game, and they've
- 14:48Speaker 3: climbed up from you know, kind of the bottom of
- 14:50Speaker 3: the league, the sixteenth overall on defense given up three
- 14:52Speaker 3: hundred and thirty six yards per game. So this is
- 14:54Speaker 3: a matchup by Like, when I look at this, I
- 14:56Speaker 3: think Dobbs can can do some nice things for him.
- 14:59Speaker 3: If they're playing ain't close, but you turn the ball over,
- 15:01Speaker 3: you make them one dimensional. I think he's prone to
- 15:03Speaker 3: really hurting his team laden games, as he's shown this
- 15:07Speaker 3: so far the season. So I think the Sea's got
- 15:08Speaker 3: a real opportunity here to create some turnovers and get
- 15:11Speaker 3: their first turnover at home.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Bump. They don't have any turnovers at Loomenfield, which is crazy.
- 15:16Speaker 4: Yeah, that's that's crazy to think about. Man, it's six
- 15:19Speaker 4: fumbles by that young man. I never wish bad on anybody,
- 15:22Speaker 4: but goodness, gracious, we could use a couple of those.
- 15:25Speaker 4: I just look at our quarterback, Gina. I mean, Dobbs
- 15:28Speaker 4: has been struggling. Gino's been struggling a little bit to
- 15:30Speaker 4: the past couple of weeks. Against the Giants, he was
- 15:32Speaker 4: thirteen to twenty four a buck ten and one touchdown.
- 15:34Speaker 4: Last week he was twenty seven to forty one three
- 15:37Speaker 4: hundred and twenty three yards. Sounds good, right, BA Zero
- 15:39Speaker 4: touchdowns in two interceptions. My man will sacked four times,
- 15:42Speaker 4: the most he's been sacked this year. Through five games,
- 15:45Speaker 4: Gino only has five touchdowns in three interceptions. During the
- 15:48Speaker 4: first half last season, Gino was playing dan.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Near perfect football. It ain't been like that this year.
- 15:56Speaker 4: When you look at him compared to the other quarterbacks
- 15:58Speaker 4: in the league complete percentage, he's eleventh, completing sixty seven
- 16:01Speaker 4: percent of his passes, twenty second in yards over eleven
- 16:05Speaker 4: hundred yards. He is twelfth when it comes to yards
- 16:08Speaker 4: per game, and his QUB rating is good enough for fifteenth.
- 16:10Speaker 4: His QBR is eleven. But that doesn't mean he's playing
- 16:15Speaker 4: bad football. He's just he played so well last year
- 16:19Speaker 4: that we're used to seeing him play at a higher level.
- 16:22Speaker 4: He needs eighty completions though, to pass John Kinne for
- 16:24Speaker 4: sixth plays on Seattle's all time completions list with six
- 16:27Speaker 4: fifty nine, and he needs two touchdowns to pass Rick
- 16:29Speaker 4: Meyer for six plays on Seattle's all time passing touchdown
- 16:32Speaker 4: list with forty two.
- 16:33Speaker 1: So there's something that he can work for.
- 16:35Speaker 4: He hasn't played good at the last two weeks, but
- 16:37Speaker 4: he's still show him that he can be the geno
- 16:39Speaker 4: that we know in love this year, Like I mentioned,
- 16:41Speaker 4: eleven hundred yards, five touchdowns, three interceptions. So he's going
- 16:45Speaker 4: against the Cardinals defense that gives up a lot of
- 16:48Speaker 4: yards and gives up a lot of yards through the
- 16:50Speaker 4: air and will give up a lot of points. So
- 16:52Speaker 4: I'm not saying it's a get right game because I
- 16:55Speaker 4: don't think Gino played horribly last game.
- 16:56Speaker 1: That's made a couple of mistakes.
- 16:58Speaker 4: But this could be a feel good game for Gino,
- 17:00Speaker 4: get back to the vibes that we're used to seeing
- 17:03Speaker 4: them play with.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's really only a couple of plays though,
- 17:06Speaker 3: bum that's a crazy thing, because he made some really
- 17:08Speaker 3: good throats to Locket in the game last week, a
- 17:10Speaker 3: couple of good plays here and there. He just the
- 17:12Speaker 3: one where you miss Jackson Smith and Jigblud that would
- 17:14Speaker 3: have been a touchdown, and then a couple Honestly late
- 17:17Speaker 3: in the game, pressure was on him so quickly on
- 17:21Speaker 3: the two fourth down red zone trips that it's really
- 17:24Speaker 3: hard to do anything when you're under that kind of pressure.
- 17:26Speaker 3: So I'm expecting not a get right game for Gino,
- 17:29Speaker 3: bump a get right game for this whole squad, because
- 17:31Speaker 3: I feel like Gino's gonna have a great day. I
- 17:33Speaker 3: think he to take care of the football and I'm
- 17:35Speaker 3: excited to see Geno be himself now footpit. On the
- 17:38Speaker 3: other side of the Cardinals wide receivers, we got Marquise
- 17:42Speaker 3: Brown and Michael Wilson taking on this talented Seahawks secondary.
- 17:46Speaker 1: And now the receiving cores.
- 17:47Speaker 3: They're not going to wow you with the stats and
- 17:49Speaker 3: the numbers they put up this year, but they do
- 17:51Speaker 3: have some playmakers in the room that you gotta respect.
- 17:53Speaker 3: They're led by shifty Marquise Brown. Brown leeds the Cardinals
- 17:56Speaker 3: in receptions, yards, touchdowns, targets, first down, and yards after catch.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Is kind of do it all guy for them.
- 18:03Speaker 3: He was a thousand yard receiver in his last season
- 18:05Speaker 3: in Baltimore before coming to the Cardinals in twenty twenty two.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Last year a pretty good year.
- 18:10Speaker 3: He was alongside DeAndre Hopkins with sixty seven receptions seven
- 18:14Speaker 3: hundred nine yards three touchdowns through twelve games. Now this year,
- 18:18Speaker 3: twenty nine receptions on fifty three targets for three hundred
- 18:22Speaker 3: and thirty four yards in three touchdowns. So he's a
- 18:24Speaker 3: good player, man. He's a guy that he's hard to
- 18:27Speaker 3: get down in space. When you can get him the ball,
- 18:30Speaker 3: he's definitely somebody. It's got some wiggle he can get by,
- 18:32Speaker 3: you can run by you. So he's definitely a guy
- 18:34Speaker 3: that you want to watch out for. Behind him, in
- 18:36Speaker 3: terms of statistics, he got Michael Wilson, the rookie had
- 18:39Speaker 3: a Stanford bump. You've probably got to see him play
- 18:41Speaker 3: a decent amount eighteen receptions on twenty two targets, three
- 18:45Speaker 3: hundred and seventeen yards, two touchdowns in that receiver room. Also,
- 18:48Speaker 3: I mean he's a tight end. But zach Ertz, Rondell
- 18:50Speaker 3: Momore are other guys that they kind of lean on.
- 18:54Speaker 3: So they got some good players. But right now, I
- 18:57Speaker 3: have had this much confidence in Seahawk sect since you know,
- 19:01Speaker 3: the Legion of Boom was playing. Honestly, like straight up,
- 19:04Speaker 3: you look at the guys because they have the same
- 19:06Speaker 3: type of not to compare, I don't mean that, but
- 19:09Speaker 3: they have guys that have the same type of playmaking ability,
- 19:12Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying. So Devin Witherspoon, he continued
- 19:15Speaker 3: to make plays every week. Second in the NFL with
- 19:17Speaker 3: seven passes defended. He had three passes defended last week.
- 19:21Speaker 3: The only player in the NFL has more than him
- 19:22Speaker 3: as Darius Williams for Jacksonville with nine. So he's making
- 19:25Speaker 3: plays anywhere. He's on the field, Jamal Adams had a
- 19:28Speaker 3: great game. Four tackles, one TfL, one QB hit, He
- 19:31Speaker 3: played eighty five percent of snaps and it was his
- 19:33Speaker 3: first full game start to finish since November twenty ninth,
- 19:36Speaker 3: twenty twenty one against Washington.
- 19:38Speaker 1: He made some really good plays.
- 19:39Speaker 3: He broke up a screen where he had two linemen
- 19:42Speaker 3: that he had to split, made a great play, and
- 19:43Speaker 3: just his energy. So I'm loving what we're seeing there.
- 19:46Speaker 3: And the Hawks are twenty eighth in the NFL against
- 19:49Speaker 3: the pass pass excuse me, allowing two hundred and fifty
- 19:52Speaker 3: seven yards per game. But they've been really good as
- 19:54Speaker 3: of late the last two weeks, averaging just one hundred
- 19:57Speaker 3: and fifty two yards against the Giants and Bengals. So again,
- 20:00Speaker 3: the Seahawks secondary is playing some really good football, and
- 20:02Speaker 3: the Cardinals have some good players on offense. But this
- 20:04Speaker 3: is another matchup by a definitely go advantaged Seahawks because
- 20:07Speaker 3: they're just playing so well and the confidence is there,
- 20:10Speaker 3: and I think from Clint Hurt, when you can put
- 20:12Speaker 3: Witherspoon and Jamal Adams on the edges and you're not
- 20:15Speaker 3: sure which one is gonna blitz, who's gonna drop, who's
- 20:18Speaker 3: gonna go deep as Quandra Diggs coming down buzzing the flat.
- 20:20Speaker 3: There's there's so much versatility that they can do. Now
- 20:23Speaker 3: you got Trey Brown who comes in there.
- 20:24Speaker 1: He's making plays.
- 20:25Speaker 3: So really excited about this secondary, and I'm really excited
- 20:28Speaker 3: to see them, you know, try to put the clamps
- 20:30Speaker 3: on these cardinal receivers.
- 20:32Speaker 4: Yeah, the secondary, we do it. It's gonna be a
- 20:33Speaker 4: lot depth in that secondary. But to see these guys
- 20:36Speaker 4: actually put it all together in motion, it is exciting, man.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm with you there.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Let's look at the running backs Ken Walker and Zach
- 20:42Speaker 4: Scharbaday against his cardinal front seven the Seahawks. They struggle
- 20:46Speaker 4: to run the ball against the Bengals, only eighty seven
- 20:48Speaker 4: yards to twenty five carries, and they haven't really found
- 20:51Speaker 4: their groove yet when it comes to run the rock yet. Man,
- 20:53Speaker 4: the Hawks ring is twenty th in the NFL. What
- 20:55Speaker 4: one hundred and four yards per game? Ken Walker, of
- 20:57Speaker 4: course leads the way eighty three carries for three forty
- 20:59Speaker 4: five six touchdowns. Zach Charbonne, I need some more, Zach Charbonneue,
- 21:03Speaker 4: He's got twenty three to one on nine. Give that man,
- 21:05Speaker 4: the ball inside the red zone. This could be the
- 21:09Speaker 4: week they finally get things going. Man, the Carlins are
- 21:10Speaker 4: twenty fourth in league when it comes to defending the rum.
- 21:13Speaker 4: They'll give up about abuve thirty three per game. But
- 21:16Speaker 4: given what happened to the Rams last week, Man, that
- 21:18Speaker 4: should give these guys some confidence. Kyron Wilson ran all
- 21:22Speaker 4: over this defense to see if we can do the
- 21:23Speaker 4: same as a team.
- 21:24Speaker 1: The Rams rushed for one hundred.
- 21:26Speaker 4: And seventy nine yards on twenty five carries, and like
- 21:28Speaker 4: I mentioned earlier, there was a time where they just said,
- 21:31Speaker 4: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Let's keep running it running and run it. Ran it
- 21:34Speaker 1: eight times.
- 21:35Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to see if they can get the
- 21:36Speaker 4: run game going, Bom.
- 21:38Speaker 3: But if you're a defender and that offense says you
- 21:41Speaker 3: know what we're gonna line up, I don't care if
- 21:43Speaker 3: you know what the players we're gonna run it nine
- 21:45Speaker 3: times in a row. That is the most demoralizing feeling
- 21:49Speaker 3: you can have.
- 21:50Speaker 1: You're getting yourself up.
- 21:51Speaker 3: I'd rather man, if you're on defense, you give up
- 21:53Speaker 3: an eighty yard touchdown, six yard touchdown, three players?
- 21:56Speaker 1: Okay, coverage bus speaking whatever.
- 21:58Speaker 3: But when someone physically posers are well on you like
- 22:01Speaker 3: that nine straight times in the NFL.
- 22:03Speaker 1: That's unheard of, man, that So you're right.
- 22:06Speaker 3: I want to see more Sharbonnay and I think the
- 22:08Speaker 3: Seahawks can really take advantage of that because they're hurting
- 22:09Speaker 3: a little bit defensively. So Buota Baker, if you're out there, Seattle, legend, rest.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Up this week, man chilled out.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Ain't no reason rush back. You can come on back,
- 22:19Speaker 3: say hi to the fam, you know, wave at everybody.
- 22:21Speaker 3: That'd be great. You don't need to rush back on
- 22:23Speaker 3: the field. Think about your health, you know, on the plane,
- 22:26Speaker 3: come kicking, you know, keep that hoodie on though. Oh shoot, okay.
- 22:32Speaker 3: The last matchup I want to get into is the
- 22:34Speaker 3: Cardinals offense. So they're running back specific against the Seahawks
- 22:37Speaker 3: front seven. Cardinals their most dangerous we have been probably
- 22:40Speaker 3: their best player on offenses, without questioning James Connor. That
- 22:43Speaker 3: dude is a monster when he's healthy. Unfortunately for them,
- 22:46Speaker 3: he went down with a knee injury against the Bengals,
- 22:48Speaker 3: so he's on ir. Connor was a team leading rusher,
- 22:51Speaker 3: was three hundred and sixty four yards on sixty eight
- 22:54Speaker 3: carries and two touchdowns. Second leading rusher is the quarterback
- 22:58Speaker 3: is Dops thirty four carries, one hundred eighty nine yards
- 23:00Speaker 3: in one touchdown. Starting in place of Connor last week
- 23:04Speaker 3: was Keance Ingram. He's played in four games this season
- 23:07Speaker 3: with twenty two carries and just fifty five yards against
- 23:11Speaker 3: the Rams, though he had ten carries for forty yards.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Ingram was a sixth round pick out of USC in
- 23:16Speaker 3: twenty twenty two. Now without James Connor, they look a
- 23:19Speaker 3: lot differently in how you respect the run is a
- 23:21Speaker 3: lot different without him back there. And this is what
- 23:23Speaker 3: the Seahaws have done well all season long. They've shut
- 23:25Speaker 3: down the run. The Hawks are fifth in the NFL
- 23:28Speaker 3: allowing just seventy nine yards per game, and they are
- 23:30Speaker 3: number one in the National Football League and yards per carry,
- 23:33Speaker 3: allowing three point one seven. No player individually has ran
- 23:37Speaker 3: for more than sixty seven yards against the Seahawks defense.
- 23:40Speaker 3: So again, all these big matchup you looked at it, I
- 23:43Speaker 3: feel like the Seahawks have the advantage bump, So why
- 23:47Speaker 3: don't you bring us home? Let us know how we
- 23:48Speaker 3: get this done. Path the victory.
- 23:52Speaker 2: After forty five waits for the snat Michael Vickxon puts
- 23:55Speaker 2: it down.
- 23:56Speaker 1: That kick is away.
- 23:57Speaker 2: If that kick is good, when it's gone, it's a
- 24:02Speaker 2: path to victory.
- 24:03Speaker 4: On Hawk Talk, this is how these guys are gonna
- 24:08Speaker 4: get this done. One you cannot go oing to in
- 24:11Speaker 4: this division. You have to take care of business. Right
- 24:14Speaker 4: It's about to get real here pretty soon. It already
- 24:16Speaker 4: is real. What will we six seven weeks into the season.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Already it feels like it just got started. But it's
- 24:21Speaker 4: important that you get this win this weekend. And how
- 24:24Speaker 4: are you gonna do that? You get after this quarterback
- 24:26Speaker 4: we mentioned will turn the football over late and he
- 24:28Speaker 4: could funnel the ball, get the turnover game going and
- 24:32Speaker 4: do what you've done against the run, shut it down.
- 24:34Speaker 4: This team has been one of the best in the
- 24:36Speaker 4: league when it comes to stopping the run, and now
- 24:38Speaker 4: you want to stop the one run and then we
- 24:40Speaker 4: want to.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Run the football.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Okay, the Rams might have shown the Seahawks the blueprint
- 24:46Speaker 4: to this thing, and what I saw on thees Man,
- 24:47Speaker 4: I saw them pack it in with two tight ends
- 24:49Speaker 4: on a balance set, bring those receivers in, run your
- 24:52Speaker 4: zone off of that, and then expand from there. I
- 24:55Speaker 4: really like the way that the Rams approach of the
- 24:57Speaker 4: Cardinals this week, and then Gino bu Doc, don't force nothing,
- 25:02Speaker 4: take us there, get the ball out quickly and be
- 25:05Speaker 4: that smooth operator we saw last year.
- 25:07Speaker 3: That sounds good to me. Bump Let's get this done.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Big Ray always talking about it. Get right, get right,
- 25:12Speaker 3: get right. This is a get right.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Game for the Seahawks.
- 25:13Speaker 3: You're at home, go one to know this week, take
- 25:16Speaker 3: care of business and set yourself up for success moving
- 25:18Speaker 3: on this season. Reminder, guys, you can catch us everywhere
