- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the Coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning. So as promised, I have my guest,
- 0:33Stacy. Hi, Stacy.
- 0:35Hey everybody. So we are sitting in our hotel
- 0:38room and we have successfully dropped the kids off at camp.
- 0:42I don't know that I was as successful as you were though.
- 0:45Well, I've just dropped Reagan off and left her more than you
- 0:48have, so I'm more seasoned at the goodbye and see you later
- 0:53and. But right at the gate.
- 0:55So here's what Here's what happened that was unexpected for
- 0:58me. Well, they have their luggage.
- 1:01We park. You know, we were took pictures.
- 1:04Yeah, we took pictures. They had photographers coming
- 1:06out to take pictures. And we walked up and we had two
- 1:10different last names. So we were in two different
- 1:12sections to get our little wristbands on them and whatnot.
- 1:16And all of a sudden they put the wristband on him and they're
- 1:18like. They checked in and then they
- 1:20asked, do you want to take a picture together?
- 1:22We said sure. And then they said, and now
- 1:24you'll go to Step 2. And I was like, OK, so we start
- 1:28walking towards the gate and they're like, I'm sorry, only
- 1:31campers beyond this point. And it was literally at a gate
- 1:35and it was like, oh, so then. It was a pretty gate.
- 1:38It was beautiful. It was beautiful, but it.
- 1:41Was like no, there was like security at the gate.
- 1:45No Mamas. Allowed, no Mamas allowed.
- 1:48And it was a for me, they did it right at the table.
- 1:51The girl was like putting the little wristband on him and
- 1:54she's like, OK, so we have everything you need and he has
- 1:56to swap his shirt out. And then it's say goodbye.
- 2:00And I was like, say goodbye now is don't we need to like get him
- 2:05set up in his room and Oh no, no, no, we've got that all
- 2:09covered. We've got, you know, everybody
- 2:11inside helping. And there was this like pit in
- 2:14my stomach about watching him walk away, 'cause I hadn't done
- 2:18that before that way. And I mean, you're seasoned.
- 2:22You sent her on a How long was the?
- 2:24Last summer she did a 12 day cruise on the on a catamaran
- 2:30through the Caribbean with no cell phone and she only got one
- 2:34call for 12 days. I don't know how you did it.
- 2:37I still don't know how you did it.
- 2:38I like the I would have gone crazy.
- 2:40I was waiting for the text to come every second I.
- 2:44Started remarkably well. I think part of it was because
- 2:48she was so excited about it and it was something that she really
- 2:52wanted to do, so I was excited for her to have that experience.
- 2:57This goodbye was just a little different because we really
- 3:01don't know a whole lot of what to expect.
- 3:03So it was a little bit more like we knew it's going to, we know
- 3:05it's going to be great, but it wasn't like she knew the plan
- 3:09and where they were going and what we were doing.
- 3:11So it was a little more of the unknown.
- 3:13It was a lot of the unknown and I mean, and again, they're at a
- 3:17Tony Robbins leadership camp. For those to catch those of you
- 3:20up who haven't listened to the previous episode.
- 3:22So for for kids and I've worked in that environment for 17
- 3:27years, so I know what you expect is the unexpected.
- 3:31Like there isn't a syntax, there isn't a schedule that they will
- 3:35give to the public. They have one, but they don't
- 3:37give it to the people in the room because they don't want you
- 3:40to anticipate and get nervous or whatever.
- 3:43So I was like trying to figure out in my head, OK, what's next
- 3:47and what's next? And then I realized, oh, I've
- 3:49got to just stop. I need to manage my state
- 3:51because I was all over the place and my certainty girl was having
- 3:54a meltdown. So then once he was behind the
- 3:56wall and this volunteer, because there are volunteers everywhere,
- 4:00and she came up and she's like, how you doing?
- 4:01And she just looked at me and I cried and she gave me a hug.
- 4:05She asked if it was OK to give me a hug.
- 4:07And I was like yes. And I was just grabbing.
- 4:09But because it was a very full circle moment for me to know
- 4:12that I did this. And now here my my dear friends
- 4:16child is in there because of me and my son is in there because
- 4:20of me. And I'm like, oh, I hope I
- 4:22didn't. I didn't want to do that.
- 4:24I just wanted to make sure it was right.
- 4:26And, and it was just one of those moments.
- 4:29And so, OK, everything went well.
- 4:31We heard from them, you know, that they were they're happy.
- 4:35They are exhausted. Like last night, they were
- 4:38pretty exhausted, but they were very happy.
- 4:40And they have many more days of this to go.
- 4:43And and today we've had very little communication.
- 4:46Yeah. So I've had like not a text
- 4:49since 5:30 this morning and you've had a couple, but.
- 4:53Yeah, sporadic. Right.
- 4:55But there's no like, you know, details coming our way.
- 4:59So in any event, we are working very hard to manage our state's
- 5:04through this process. And I can say this is one of
- 5:07those great little Petri dishes that we talked about where
- 5:10managing your state is not a choice you make at 6:00 AM and
- 5:13then go and make it all the way till you go to bed at 9:00 PM.
- 5:18It's for me right now. It's moment to moment, like
- 5:20super excited that Stacey and I have projects to work on and
- 5:24managing it. She's much better at managing it
- 5:26than I am, so I'm like hanging on by a shoestring and getting
- 5:30through it. So that's all we have to report
- 5:33today. So just know you're not alone in
- 5:35having to figure out how to manage your state.
- 5:37And do you have any advice for people on that subject managing
- 5:41your state? I think just focusing on
- 5:44something that makes the time go by faster is really helpful.
- 5:46Like we've planned out our whole week and we know what we're
- 5:49going to do and that was really great.
- 5:50And we work today and I think just keeping busy helps.
- 5:54You can't with that constant worry and focused on what it is
- 5:57that you really want. As well as I want to tell them
- 6:01about all the cool things that we did while they were having
- 6:03their experience. So I think making our own
- 6:05memories is important too. Totally.
- 6:08All right my friends, we will see you tomorrow with another
- 6:10update. I hope you have a blessed day
- 6:12and I'll see you then. Bye.
