- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31So today we're talking about nourishing your soul.
- 0:34Part of the traditions of the fall are harvesting, as we all
- 0:38know how fall is the time you go and you harvest, you reap your
- 0:42harvest and you start to see the benefits of all your hard work.
- 0:47Typically, that's what the tradition is.
- 0:49You might not still be there where whatever it is you're
- 0:51working on, whether it's a business project or a personal
- 0:54project, you might not quite be there yet.
- 0:56But it's all about. The thoughts of reaping the
- 0:59benefits of the harvest, and sometimes what I like to kind of
- 1:02loop back to is in order to get clear on the fact that we are
- 1:07going to reap benefits from a harvest whenever it does happen.
- 1:10Because it doesn't always happen on time seasonally, but it's a
- 1:13really good time to sit there and say, you know what, what am
- 1:16I going to benefit from this when it's done?
- 1:17It's a great reminder. Sometimes we get so stuck in the
- 1:20moments of doing the work that we forget.
- 1:24Why we're doing the work, We'll be like, why the hell am I doing
- 1:26this? Why is this, you know, so
- 1:27important to me? Sometimes you just have to stop
- 1:29and pause and really check in and go back and say, geez, OK, I
- 1:33got to make sure I'm still doing this for the right reasons.
- 1:35Because as we change and grow, our desires change and grow.
- 1:38So it's a great thing to just always loop back and check in.
- 1:41But it's also a part of this is, you know, when you start to reap
- 1:45the benefits of what you've been doing, you're nourishing your
- 1:48soul for doing the work it was supposed to be doing.
- 1:50And figuring out how you are going to nourish your soul is a
- 1:55big piece of the entire process. It's not just the end.
- 1:59You know, I I often have to remind clients over and over and
- 2:03over that are you celebrating the small wins?
- 2:05And they'll say no. And I'm like, why?
- 2:08Well, I don't feel that I should celebrate yet.
- 2:10I'm not there yet. I don't want to celebrate yet.
- 2:12OK, But why? Why don't you want to celebrate
- 2:14yet? I don't know.
- 2:14I just don't. And they get hunkered down in
- 2:17the process, and they beat themselves up for it.
- 2:21And for not being quite at the end yet, or they beat themselves
- 2:24up for their little mistakes along the way.
- 2:26Instead of saying okay, let me remind myself why I'm doing
- 2:29this. Let me get back to that place of
- 2:31like okay. This was the reason I wanted to
- 2:34do this. I am clear on that.
- 2:36This is my big fat reason. So once you are are looped back
- 2:42to that you go back and say OK I I need to really nourish my soul
- 2:46in the process of this. I need to make sure you know
- 2:49when when I come out to the chicken coop every morning.
- 2:53And I mean, it's every morning. I can't skip what I'm doing,
- 2:56whether I'm recording for you guys or I'm out here with them.
- 2:59They are my family members. They are my pets and I'm out
- 3:02here. I have to take care of them.
- 3:04Just like I have to let the dog out.
- 3:05I have to clean the cat box, I have to spray the geckos, I have
- 3:09to take care of all the creatures that I have.
- 3:11But the chickens are like, OK, that's a lot of work.
- 3:14And I have to remind myself sometimes, you know, OK, when
- 3:18it's 95 degrees and I have to swap their coop out, OK, I love
- 3:22them. I there you will.
- 3:24I promise you. I ought to videotape it sometime
- 3:26and just set it up in the corner because it is absolutely arduous
- 3:30to do the workout here when it's 95100 degrees taking care of
- 3:35them And you know it's okay because I remind myself the
- 3:38whole time why I'm doing what I'm doing.
- 3:40What is my reason? What is my reason and?
- 3:44It's wonderful. It's a wonderful thing when you
- 3:46stop and you pause and you can do that because then you get
- 3:48associated to it quickly and you don't waste time attracting
- 3:52things you don't want. So I'm going to remind you this
- 3:56process of pulling yourself out of the loop and really sitting
- 3:59there and saying, OK, I'm going to nourish my soul.
- 4:04Ask that question, what can I do to nourish my soul today?
- 4:07What are the things that? Just light me up and it can come
- 4:12back into traditions that we've talked about.
- 4:14It can come back into things that just it's not a tradition,
- 4:17but it just makes you feel good. Like, you know, having tea every
- 4:20morning or coffee every morning. Or for me, sometimes it's coffee
- 4:23and paper cups. And I know that sounds crazy,
- 4:26but it brings me back to being with my dad.
- 4:28He used to get coffee from Dunkin' Donuts every day and
- 4:31bring it to me. And for me, that cut paper cup
- 4:35from Dunkin' Donuts was such a thing and it just nourishes my
- 4:38soul. So think about those little tiny
- 4:41things that you can put in place.
- 4:43And I promise you, if you do them before you actually get to
- 4:47the end result, before you get to the harvest, before you get
- 4:50to that place, you're going to feel so much better and elated
- 4:54and just illuminated, if you will, about the getting to that
- 4:59end result as opposed to it being a drudgery.
- 5:02And I got across that line. I got to do this.
- 5:04I got to do this, I got to do this.
- 5:05It's it's not a good thing. When you don't celebrate along
- 5:09the way, so allow yourself to fill your soul, and I promise
- 5:13you it will be so much happier along the way.
- 5:16All right, my friends. I hope you have a blessed day
- 5:18and I will see you all tomorrow. Bye.
