  that one out for us. And of course talking about the house there and

  we're talking this morning about houses. And Andrew, you know, you and

  I we've been we've been chatting on the radio for many years, been chatting

  outside the radio for many years as well. And one of the kind of

  core things that we often talk about and kind of people may I don't know

  how they're going to respond to this, but we talk about rooms off the

  airs, which is just what this is what I do. I drive around

  and me and my wife and I point out gutters thing and she's like,

  would you please stop? Like, ah, that's what I do, you

  know, one of the go ahead. No, I was just gonna say,

  it's it's an obsession. Yes, but it's it's what I do,

  it's what I care about. And yeah, so that's what I pay attention.

  And I've actually got it down to colors where I can actually pick out

  exactly what type of shinges, what shingle manufacturer was based off the car.

  Are you kidding the problem? No, I can't. Oh my goodness,

  Yes, it is. It's an obsession, and it's it's a good obsession,
• 1:49
  especially when we're talking about roofs and hiring somebody to work on your roof
• 1:52
  and work on your home. Having somebody with that passion, with that knowledge,
• 1:56
  with the expertise is important. And Andrew, the thing that I really
• 1:59

  it is an experience. And we've had some some bad weather that's gone through

  right um, and then of course we get a whole bunch of weather in

  one week. Yeah. I think I was saying that on a last show,

  like, look, we're gonna get weather. I think at my house

  in Loda, I think I had over two and a half inches last week.

  Seemed to all come at one time. We got sixty mile an hour

  winds, we got hail. You know it when it doesn't when it doesn't

  rain, it pours, right Like that's that's just seems to be the way.

  So if people weren't worried about their gutters, I mean, we had
• 2:55
  massive downpours on Sunday with some with some storms that came through, And so

  I just kind of want to talk about the fact that I know we've talked
• 3:04
  about this many times before, at the fact that we are GAF Master Elite

  two or three Star President Club Award winner. Now what that means to a

  homeowner is that to me, it should put confidence that they know we're going

  to do a great job. That means we have to do so many roofs

  a year that are up to the top top top top standards that JF puts

  out. But I always say, like a lot of people can do a

  roof. There are a lot of people that can do a roof. I

  don't think that there's a lot of companies that are going to do a roof
• 3:39
  and really pay attention to the details that we do with the underlayman's. My

  famous line is you can put the best shingles in the world on a roof,

  but if you don't do everything else underneath it correctly, it will leak.

  And we see that every single day. That's also why a few weeks
• 3:55
  ago I talked about the fact that we really were getting into roof restoration because
• 3:59
  many people put great shingles on their home, they're not put on properly and
• 4:02
  they leak. While do we need to tear the whole roof off and start
• 4:04
  over. No, we can attack the problem areas and the things that weren't
• 4:09
  that weren't done properly. So you talk about experience. We are going to
• 4:14
  do the best roof that can possibly be done, but we give a couple
• 4:19
  of major guarantees that I don't know of anybody else giving, because that's why

  some of those things we should be kind of that that checklist? What should

  we be looking at if we if we've been affected by if storms have rolled
• 5:49
  through our area. Hope, did we lose? We didn't lose, Andrew,

  did we We may have lost? Andrew? Oh, technology, I

  know, I know. The guys get in this morning and start to start

  Absolutely, I was gonna say, Andrew, one of the things too

  that you were talking about about the the experience and the guarantees I remember a

  few years ago when you guys redid the roof at at the Preble Home.

  One of there are a couple of things I was massively impressed with was one,

  uh, the efficiency that your guys work, work with the quality of

  the work that they do. But also I told you in the past,

  we have of course, I've got cameras like a lot of people do,

  all around the house. And you see the amount of care that was taken

  for the shrubs and the and my wife and all of her plantings, all

  And when I got home, you couldn't even tell that there were crews

  out there because everything looked just pristine. The only thing you could tell was,

  oh, my goodness, a beautiful in the roof. So let's talk

  about for folks that have had storms, roll through um kind of that checklist
• 6:56
  and what folks should be looking for and some indicators that hey, you know
• 7:00
  what, this may require some attention. Yeah, So if we've had wind,
• 7:05
  one of the biggest things you're gonna look for. You don't have to
• 7:08
  get on your roof. You can use binoculars or if your roof is low.
• 7:12
  Look and see if you've got any shingles flipped up, See if you've
• 7:14
  got any shingles missing. A lot of times, what will happen too,
• 7:16
  is we call it a zipper, and it'll it'll at a zipper or a
• 7:21
  step looking fashion, it'll pop shingles up, it'll break the tar seal,
• 7:27
  it'll bend the shingles, and you can visibly see that from the ground if
• 7:30
  you have If you see that, you need to call your insurance company and
• 7:34
  then call us, have us come out and take a look. If we're
• 7:39
  talking hail, look at your gutters. Is there hail damage on A good
• 7:44
  way to tell that you're gonna have hail damage on your roof is if you
• 7:46
  look at the metals around your home. So if you've got your windows are
• 7:48
  wrapped in metal, look to see if there's dense on your window wrap.
• 7:53
  If you've got downspout extensions or downsboat's coming down your house, look at those.
• 7:57
  If they have hail damage on them, there's a very good chance that
• 8:00
  you've got hail damage on your roof. Look for the same thing on siding.
• 8:03
  If you've got a metal siding, or if the hail is big enough
• 8:05
  you're going to see broken vinyl siding. My biggest thing is watch out for
• 8:11
  storm contractors. They come into town. Immediately they're here, they want to
• 8:18
  get it done, and they want to go. And the biggest thing that
• 8:20
  we hear is I'm not saying that they're all terrible, but if given the
• 8:24
  choice, I would recommend working with somebody who's local, who's been around,
• 8:31
  and who's going to be there, because a lot of these storm chasers,
• 8:33
  they come in, they get a whole bunch of roofs, and as soon
• 8:37
  as that last nail is put in, they're gone. They're onto the next
• 8:41
  city, they're onto the next storm. If there's anything that didn't get done
• 8:43
  properly, good luck, they're not coming back. And we hear it from
• 8:48
  home. We hear it from city inspectors as well that things don't get done
• 8:52
  right, but there's really nobody to call. So I would be very,
• 8:56
  very very vigilant about who I'm having doing it. They're going to come knock
• 9:01
  on your door ask if you can do a free roof inspection, and the
• 9:07
  next thing you know, he's kind of contendity contract and now they're doing your
• 9:09
  roof. So we're here and there's plenty of other local, great contractors to
• 9:13
  take care of that. But you can visibly look up at your roof and
• 9:16
  look around your home to see if you had damage and load eye merriment point
• 9:22
  that area. Some in Baraboo Sock we had some pretty good storms go through,
• 9:26
  So if you're listening in those areas, I would go out and I'd
• 9:30
  do a visual. I had some pretty good hail coming at fifty miles an
• 9:33
  hour at my house this weekend, so I would take a look. And
• 9:39
  we're more than happy to come out and do an inspection as well. And
• 9:41
  that's one of the great things too. You mentioned more than willing to come
• 9:43
  out and take a look, and it's it's as we talk about doing that
• 9:48
  inspection, whether it's a roof inspection, taking look at your gutters, taking
• 9:50
  look at home performance. That stuff that is not going to cost you anything,
• 9:54
  no obligation, no risk. Get folks from large storm services out for
• 9:58
  a free estimate, take a look at how your house is doing. And

  as Andrew was talking about about maybe some storm damage, there are some things
• 10:05
  that can be obvious, some little little tricks and tips to kind of look
• 10:07
  for, especially things like hail damage. But you may have heard Andrew mentioned

  things like like that tar shield being being separated. As a homeowner, you
• 10:15
  may not know that. And once there's a little gap, once a little
• 10:18
  hole. One thing that we all do know from from school, and I
• 10:20
  mean we've seen, you know what water can do. It will find a
• 10:24
  way to get in there. And of course once it's in there, it's
• 10:26
  in your home and it's causing prompts and you don't want that. Today is
