Transcript
- 0:00What's up, everybody? All right, we are live.
- 0:02Charlie Marlowe. Here you see the title of the
- 0:06video of the live stream breaking. 2311 Racing and Front
- 0:11Row Motorsports denied hearing and could lose their charters
- 0:16next week. That is true, folks. 2311
- 0:20Racing, of course, owned by Michael Jordan, Denny Hamlin,
- 0:23Front Row Motorsports owned by Bob Jenkins.
- 0:27You have this NASCAR lawsuit been going on for what end of
- 0:31last year around November or so? So been going on more than half
- 0:37a year now, but big news, big development and this one again,
- 0:41not going the way of the teams going the way of NASCAR.
- 0:45This has been a big back and forth and surely there were some
- 0:49some early victories for the teams.
- 0:52And lately it's been all NASCAR in terms of the ruling.
- 0:56So let's get right to it, let you know what's going on.
- 1:00And just so everybody knows, I'm I'm not boots on the ground.
- 1:03I am reacting to the reports I'm seeing on social media just like
- 1:08you are. So let's go to Bob Pockras
- 1:10first, OK, I saw him reporting this first.
- 1:14This was an hour ago or so he says.
- 1:16He tweets 2311 and front row have been denied A rehearing to
- 1:22the injunction reversal. So potentially could lose their
- 1:26charters effective for Dover. So this is what happened.
- 1:31It was about a month ago or so when NASCAR won this particular
- 1:38ruling. And So what happened was you'd
- 1:41have to wait about what, couple weeks to have to have the teams
- 1:47try and overturn this. And then it could be another
- 1:50seven days if the teams actually lost their charters.
- 1:54So that's where we're at right now.
- 1:56And with the fact that NASCAR has a victory here in, in terms
- 2:01of this legal, I was going to call it a legal battle.
- 2:04It's really a legal war. So NASCAR has won this
- 2:08particular battle. And because you have to wait
- 2:11seven days then, right? So it's not going to happen for
- 2:14Sonoma this week. And we don't know officially if
- 2:16it's actually going to happen at all, if these teams really will
- 2:20lose their charters. But now 2311 Racing, Front Row
- 2:24Motorsports, they are in jeopardy of losing their
- 2:27charters next week. So if you look at the NASCAR
- 2:30schedule, you have Sonoma coming up this weekend, week after that
- 2:34is Dover. So you could have these teams
- 2:37running as non chartered teams for Dover coming up in about a
- 2:43week and a half. And remember, if you're not
- 2:45running as a chartered team, there's there's really two big
- 2:49downsides to that. And I would say the the money
- 2:53is, is the biggest downside that you lose out on on the charter
- 2:58money, whereas the chartered teams are in on that pot and the
- 3:02non chartered teams aren't. The other part is you'd have to
- 3:05qualify in And so if you'd ever did have a race with more than
- 3:1040 cars and and we don't really anticipate that happening.
- 3:14Although if you look at the Chicago St. course race, you did
- 3:16have what Corey Heim was the one driver that did not qualify in.
- 3:20So if any of these races upcoming, if, if 2311 racing
- 3:26Inferno Motorsports, if they actually do lose their charters,
- 3:29they could have to qualify in any of these races if there's
- 3:33more than 40 cars. So this is also from Bob
- 3:36Parker's ex feed. He does have a statement from 20
- 3:43through 11 front row attorney Jeffrey Kessler.
- 3:45We've been hearing from him ever since last November.
- 3:49Whenever this lawsuit started, was it late October or early
- 3:51November? Whenever it was it was it was
- 3:53around that time. So basically statement from 20
- 3:56through 11 and front row attorney Jeffrey Kessler on
- 3:59appeal court denial of their request for a rehearing on the
- 4:04injunction reversal. I know that's a lot of legalese.
- 4:07OK. The teams possibly will have to
- 4:10raise as open having to qualify to get in And I just told you
- 4:14that if there's a race with more than 40 cars and would receive
- 4:17less money and that starts next week at Dover.
- 4:20But here is the actual statement from Jeffrey Kessler.
- 4:24Again, try not to repeat myself, but he's the attorney for 2311
- 4:28Racing in Front Row Motorsports. He says, quote, We are
- 4:31disappointed by the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals decision to
- 4:36deny our request for a full rehearing.
- 4:39This decision has no bearing on the strength of our antitrust
- 4:43case, which we look forward to presenting at trial.
- 4:47We are committed to racing this season as we continue to fight
- 4:51for more competitive and fair terms for all teams to ensure
- 4:56the future of the sport and remain fully confident in our
- 4:59case. End Quote.
- 5:02OK, that was about an hour ago that Bob Pockras put up that
- 5:05particular quote. I'm going to see if he has any
- 5:08more reporting on this. So about 25 minutes ago, Bob
- 5:13Pockras tweets. 2311 and front row have said they remain
- 5:17committed to field 3 car teams, whether open or chartered for
- 5:22this year. So this won't change things for
- 5:25this year. So that would indicate they have
- 5:27the financial ability to make up the difference.
- 5:30And then in parentheses, I assume if they win at trial
- 5:34there would be some sort of damages to cover it.
- 5:36So if they were to lose money this year because they were non
- 5:40chartered teams, then they would win the lawsuit.
- 5:43If they were to win the lawsuit coming up in December, they
- 5:46could be entitled to some damages.
- 5:48I feel like one of those lawyers that's on TV, you could be
- 5:51entitled to some damages. All right, let's see if Bob
- 5:55Bob's been great reporting this all along.
- 5:58Let's go to Jeff Glock as well. Jeff Glock, our partner on Dirty
- 6:03MO Media, right? Of course they have the tear
- 6:04down. We have Herman Schrader.
- 6:06Let's see if he has anything different than Bob Pockrus.
- 6:10He has the statement, he has the news, blah, blah, blah.
- 6:15And then, so here's one tweet from Jeff Glock.
- 6:18He says everything is pending the December 1st trial or a
- 6:22settlement in parentheses. Of course, there could be a
- 6:24settlement before a potential trial in December, but the way
- 6:28things are going doesn't look like that, doesn't look like
- 6:31these. The teams and NASCAR are on a
- 6:34very friendly footing right now. Both sides would characterize
- 6:38these motions and ruling so far as relatively minor compared to
- 6:41the trial itself. That's when we are really going
- 6:44to see how this all turns out and what the impacts are.
- 6:47Right. So today, today, what's going
- 6:50on? I, I don't think anybody
- 6:51expected the the teams to have this reversed.
- 6:55The, the big news was about a month ago or three weeks ago,
- 6:58whenever it was when we, we heard this, that they could lose
- 7:02their charters. And then you had basically the
- 7:03time frame where the teams could appeal.
- 7:06So that was what, 1421 days, one of those two time frames.
- 7:11And then once they basically did not get a rehearing.
- 7:14That's today, right now, that's Wednesday, July 9th.
- 7:18Now there's seven days after that where they could lose their
- 7:22charters. So like I said, Sonoma is not an
- 7:26issue this weekend, but these teams, 2311 racing, front row
- 7:30Motorsports, they could be racing as non chartered teams,
- 7:33as open teams as early as Dover about 10 days from now.
- 7:39So what do you guys think of this?
- 7:42Let's check out the stream here. We got 173 of you guys and gals
- 7:47watching. Let's go to your comments.
- 7:49Here let's see. Tom Casella says Denny needs to
- 7:54fight for his rights to party or to race as a chartered team.
- 8:00Tony Dyson says NASCAR has become a joke now.
- 8:04Why is that? Just because of this lawsuit,
- 8:07Den's live concert videos. When you had every other team
- 8:12sign the agreement and two teams, not pretty hard to have a
- 8:15leg to stand on. I hear you.
- 8:18But I think all the other teams were happy about this lawsuit,
- 8:22to be honest. I think they were happy that
- 8:242311 Racing and Front Row Motorsports were fighting for
- 8:28them. And you saw a lot of comments
- 8:30from Richard Childress from Rick Hendrick basically insinuating
- 8:35we were tired. You know, we had to sign the
- 8:37agreement. We have employees to to worry
- 8:40about and all that. But I think if if you have put
- 8:43them on a lie detector, all the teams were happy that 2311
- 8:47Racing in front of Motorsports went through with this lawsuit.
- 8:50Let's see. Yeah, and basically our guy Biz
- 8:56said kind of what I just said. Multiple teams said they didn't
- 8:58even agree with the contract, but we're afraid to lose money.
- 9:02Yeah, I think that's a fair characterization.
- 9:05Boo Bah says. When is Denny going to blame
- 9:09Joey Logano? Are we dead ass?
- 9:14Broken heart? Are we dead ass?
- 9:17What does that mean? Jerry Lewis says finally, can't
- 9:22have your cake and eat it too. Well, there's no finality,
- 9:25though, just so everybody knows, there's no finality with this
- 9:29ruling. But again, it's another legal
- 9:31win in this long. We're going to call it a war.
- 9:33I don't like to compare sports to war, but this is a little
- 9:36battle within the war. And clearly NASCAR has been on
- 9:40the right side of of recent developments.
- 9:42They've been winning a lot of these small battles over the
- 9:45last several months. Let's see.
- 9:49Sherry Parker says, I love it. Hope they lose their charters.
- 9:53You want them to lose their charters, so does Charles
- 9:55Tinsman. Hopefully they lose them.
- 9:58How about that? Pure stock 83 says sounds like
- 10:03the teams want a more want more return on investment from
- 10:07NASCAR. Yeah, that's fair.
- 10:08They definitely want a bigger piece of the pie when it's
- 10:11broken down between the tracks. NASCAR.
- 10:14Also, remember NASCAR owns a lot of the tracks and the teams as
- 10:17well, Smit B says. I think it's fair to the other
- 10:23teams that did sign the contract for 20 through 11 in front row
- 10:25to run as open. OK, I understand that.
- 10:27I don't agree with that, but I understand your your thinking
- 10:31there. Southwest says.
- 10:36This should all be worked through on the offseason.
- 10:39Worked on through the offseason, Yeah, I get that.
- 10:43You tell me, though. I don't think it's a huge
- 10:45distraction. The news updates are always
- 10:48happening during the midweek where look, we're kind of
- 10:51looking for some NASCAR news Anyway, I don't know how you
- 10:53guys feel now. Maybe it's because we make
- 10:55content, right? We make videos, so it helps when
- 10:58we have news. But I feel like, I feel like
- 11:01it's not a distraction for the races, right?
- 11:05Like last year I thought the timing of this was bad just
- 11:08because it came out right before the championship.
- 11:11OK, let me look that up because I keep saying late October,
- 11:14early November. Let me let me look that up
- 11:17because I know it came out right before the championship and
- 11:21let's see when that lawsuit was actually filed.
- 11:24OK OK, here we go. This is the AI overview, so
- 11:30don't quote it directly because hey, you saw what happened with
- 11:33Grok yesterday with AI. Grok was going crazy on X, but
- 11:37it says 2 NASCAR teams, 2311 Racing and Front Row Motorsports
- 11:40filed an antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR in October of
- 11:442024. So it was it was October.
- 11:49Am I seeing October 2nd? OK, I thought it was late
- 11:52October, but I'm seeing October 2nd.
- 11:56Yes. OK.
- 11:57So October 2nd. OK, so I was wrong on that.
- 12:00So you had a month or so after that before the the
- 12:04championship. So this was a big story
- 12:06obviously for the last month, 5 weeks, six weeks last year of
- 12:10the NASCAR season. So yeah, I mean, we're, we're
- 12:16not approaching a year, but it's not far off for August,
- 12:18September, October. We're about 3 months away from
- 12:20this being a story for a year. So it was a big talking point
- 12:24obviously back in October for a week or so.
- 12:28It's been a big talking point in the offseason.
- 12:30There's been a lot of updates. But I feel like NASCAR and the
- 12:33teams, they've done a good job of of not making this be a huge
- 12:37distraction for the on on race on track product that that's
- 12:43what I think at least. I don't mind that we have some
- 12:44of these updates during the midweek.
- 12:47I feel like, yeah, Denny Hamlin, he's asked about it on the
- 12:50weekends. If there's a development.
- 12:52He talks about it a little bit on his podcast.
- 12:54But I don't feel like this has become a huge distraction for
- 12:57the 2025 NASCAR season. What do you guys think?
- 13:00You agree, You disagree. What you think Bart Omond, this
- 13:06is BSA charter is equal to a franchise agreement.
- 13:09But it's not, though. It's actually not.
- 13:11And that's why they called it a charter and not not a franchise.
- 13:14Could you imagine if the NFL could pull a franchise at their
- 13:17leisure? And and that's where semantics,
- 13:19this is important. It was never a franchise, folks.
- 13:22It was a charter and it was written and described that way
- 13:26on purpose. Alex Neller says hey.
- 13:29Hey, Alex. We're about 13 minutes in.
- 13:32Hey, please subscribe to the channel if you haven't already.
- 13:35Please give us a thumbs up on this recording, this live
- 13:38stream. I'm not going to go too long.
- 13:40I always say that then I go way longer.
- 13:42But I also, I really appreciate the fact we have 177 of you
- 13:47watching live and thousands more will watch it after we're live,
- 13:51we'll put on Kenny Wallace Media.
- 13:53So I appreciate you guys joining and I like to read your comments
- 13:57because hey, you took the time to put the comments in and I
- 14:00like to acknowledge them and read them for you.
- 14:04Let's see, Rex Dowell says they lose their charter, then they
- 14:08have sponsorship trouble. Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace
- 14:10already said it. If he got to run open, they'd be
- 14:13leaving. Are you sure about that?
- 14:15Are you sure about that? I'd have to check on that.
- 14:18I mean, it's still one of the best teams in NASCAR, right?
- 14:20And look, first of all, them running open, if that's the
- 14:24case, if they have to run as open teams starting in a week at
- 14:29Dover, that would be, you would think, a 2025 problem, right?
- 14:33I mean, Tyler Reddick, bubble walls, nobody's leaving in 2025.
- 14:36Now, if they were to lose the lawsuit, if something crazy
- 14:40happens, could those drivers walk away after 2025?
- 14:44Sure. I think that's definitely a
- 14:45possibility. If they lose, they're charters.
- 14:48I don't think that's going to happen, and that's more of a
- 14:50story for the future. But none of these drivers are
- 14:54leaving 2025. When you're in the middle of a
- 14:56playoff chase, that's not going to happen.
- 14:59Let's see, we have. Lulap, Nasla.
- 15:03I want to know why no one will talk about how NASCAR owns
- 15:05everything from the cars, tracks, tickets, TV, income,
- 15:08just everything and it's distracting.
- 15:10NASCAR looks like a bully. Yeah, I can.
- 15:14I can see that also that line of thinking, I, I think the teams
- 15:18eventually have to get a larger piece of the pie.
- 15:21That's that's where I'm on this. And I've, I've said that from
- 15:23the get go, but hey, maybe I'm wrong.
- 15:25Maybe NASCAR wins a trial or who knows, We'll know in December.
- 15:31We'll see. What will NASCAR, will NASCAR
- 15:34force these teams to run as open teams?
- 15:37Or could they have a little bit of an olive branch next week and
- 15:40say, you know what, we're going to allow you to run as as
- 15:44chartered teams the rest of the year while we figure this out.
- 15:48Could you actually see some grace from NASCAR?
- 15:50What do you think? Probably not.
- 15:52You never know, which is why, look, there'll be some, some
- 15:55more really big news next week when 7 days from now we could
- 16:00hear that these teams have to run as open teams or, or maybe
- 16:03they have some type of deal, maybe some type of deal for
- 16:07this, this year where hey, we'll figure it out in the offseason.
- 16:10I don't know. I'm fascinated by that.
- 16:12Well, NASCAR, offer the teams any grace.
- 16:16I probably wouldn't if I was being sued, let's be honest.
- 16:20And I'm more on the side of the teams than NASCAR.
- 16:22But if I'm NASCAR and I'm being sued by these teams, why would I
- 16:26give them a break this year? Would you?
- 16:28Probably not. Let's see.
- 16:33OK, so. Rex Dahl jumping back in, it
- 16:36didn't finish my recording. Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace
- 16:39said that they lose the charter, they're leaving 2011.
- 16:42So what are they going to do for drivers for those two cars?
- 16:45Yeah, I I don't think that's going to happen.
- 16:47Let's see. Yeah, Jerry Lewis, says Rex
- 16:51Dahl. Where are they going to go?
- 16:52There are no open seats. I mean, look at Kyle Busch.
- 16:55You don't think Kyle Busch probably wanted to go somewhere
- 16:57else? Let's be real, then, Richard
- 16:59Childress Racing, You don't think he picked up the phone to
- 17:01see if anybody else was wanting him?
- 17:04Any seats available? Like, do you really think, by
- 17:07the way, this is more of a question for 2026, but do you
- 17:10really think that Bubba Wallace and Tyler Raddick can find
- 17:12better rides than 2311 racing? 2311 Racing, They're essentially
- 17:19just a tick below the big three, right?
- 17:21Hendrick, Joe Gibbs Racing and Penske 2311 racing is just a
- 17:28tick below. I mean, they're one of the
- 17:29better teams in NASCAR. I don't see those drivers
- 17:32leaving. Let's see, let's see.
- 17:36Johnny Stevens says I'm done with NASCAR.
- 17:41How about that and Lou App Nosla again?
- 17:46No, it's distracting in the sense of what used to be a great
- 17:49sport looks like some huge conglomerate evil empire.
- 17:52I don't know the bad guys in a Resident Evil movie.
- 17:55And that's what NASCAR looks like.
- 17:57How about that? I've never seen Resident Evil.
- 17:59I've heard about it, but you're saying NASCAR looks like a
- 18:02bully. They're the bad guys again, I'm
- 18:06I understand them being a bully at times.
- 18:09They are being sued for monopolistic practices.
- 18:12I don't call them evil. I don't think they're a villain.
- 18:15But I think at the end of the day, this is my opinion.
- 18:19I, I think they're going to probably have to cough up some
- 18:21more money to the teams when this is all said and done,
- 18:23whether it's a trial in December or a settlement.
- 18:28So there you go, DG1 says goodbye NASCAR.
- 18:33See ya F you later. Now, are you mad about this
- 18:36lawsuit or is it something else? Here we go, we got Jimmy Brown.
- 18:43Jimmy Brown says no grace from the France family, but no teams,
- 18:46no NASCAR. Money needs to be shared in a
- 18:49more equitable manner just for the health of the sport.
- 18:51That's where I'm at. Jimmy Brown.
- 18:52I thought that was very well said.
- 18:54Here we go. We got Charlie Ann spelled
- 18:58differently than myself, which is Charl i.e., this is Charley.
- 19:04For the ones that said to do this, all this in the offseason,
- 19:08they really only have a month or two.
- 19:09That's not much time to get everything straightened out.
- 19:12Yeah, that's true. We said earlier, we looked it
- 19:14up, the lawsuit was filed October 2nd.
- 19:17So you have October, you have about what couple 10-12 days in
- 19:21November before the season ends. Then you have essentially about
- 19:2590 days exactly right. You have whenever the season
- 19:29ended last year early to mid November.
- 19:33And then you have Daytona. Well, actually you have the you
- 19:36have the clash first. So I mean, really it's three
- 19:39months. You have three months.
- 19:40Something this big is not going to be settled in three months.
- 19:44They'll end up having what they'll end up having about 14
- 19:47months to get all the discovery to get all their their eyes
- 19:53dotted and TS crossed for a potential trial in December.
- 19:57Remember, and that's look, that timeline isn't crazy.
- 20:01Something this big NASCAR versus the team's monopolistic
- 20:06practices is what's being alleged.
- 20:10So it's not crazy at all with something this big for for it
- 20:13not to go to trial for about 14 months or so.
- 20:17So here we go. DC322 says 2311 in front row
- 20:24will still race his open teams. Yeah, in 2025.
- 20:28And that's the thing. I think they would also still
- 20:29race his open teams in 2026 even if they were to lose a trial.
- 20:33But again, that's a question for another day.
- 20:36That's a story for another day, but they have to go back to work
- 20:41in January, don't they? That's from Charlie Ann.
- 20:43I think they kind of work year round to be honest with you.
- 20:46But I get what you're saying. I mean like the offseason in
- 20:48terms of no actual races. That's what I meant.
- 20:52Here we go. Subaru Jiffy.
- 20:56Looking forward to NASCAR having to share financials if it goes
- 20:59to court. Me too.
- 21:00But also the teams would have to share financials.
- 21:03This is juicy. I'm looking forward to all.
- 21:06This right, Let's see. Megan story all says how will
- 21:12this affect sponsorship and marketing, which NASCAR needs
- 21:15along with the networks? I don't think this has any
- 21:18effect on that to be honest with you.
- 21:19I mean NASCAR just signed up what $7.7 billion TV package.
- 21:25They're doing fine folks. They got they got streaming
- 21:29coming aboard. You saw prime TV did great.
- 21:32You got Turner. They're like the NFL now.
- 21:35The NFL always had all the networks, right?
- 21:37You had the CBS package on Sundays, the Fox package, you
- 21:41got Monday Night Football with ABCESPN, you got Sunday Night
- 21:45Football with NBC. Now you got Prime with the NFL.
- 21:50So NASCAR is smart. They're making all these
- 21:52different networks and streaming services all buck up and compete
- 21:56for their different races. So NASCAR is doing just fine in
- 21:58that capacity. Although, hey, there are still
- 22:01issues. I think NASCAR needs to fix the
- 22:03car this offseason, fix the short track stuff.
- 22:07I don't like the fuel saving on the superspeedways.
- 22:10And if we get back to the Mark Martin conversation, I would
- 22:14like to see them tweak the playoff format and not maybe
- 22:18have it come down to one race, maybe a final three races.
- 22:21Figure something out just to make it not just all about one
- 22:24race. They've already switched up the
- 22:27the final race where it's at. Remember now we're going to have
- 22:30a a rotating, we're going to have a rotating final race.
- 22:33It's not just going to be Phoenix every year.
- 22:35You're going to have Miami in the in the mix.
- 22:37And folks have talked about where else could it be Vegas?
- 22:39Could it be Charlotte? Could it be Darlington?
- 22:42What do you guys think? Phoenix in the mix, Miami
- 22:46Homestead in the mix, and what other tracks you think could be
- 22:49thrown in there? Let's see.
- 22:53Here we go. Here we go.
- 22:55NASCAR has already submitted their books.
- 22:59That's from John Haas. OK.
- 23:03There was a there was a comment I wanted to read back here.
- 23:08It was about. I said would would NASCAR offer
- 23:10any grace? Did I already read it?
- 23:15Yeah. Here you go, Jimmy Brown.
- 23:17No grace from the France family, but no teams, no NASCAR.
- 23:20I already read this one. Sorry.
- 23:22Money needs to be shared in a more equitable manner just for
- 23:25the health of the sport. Well, Jimmy, that was so good
- 23:27that I read it twice. How about that?
- 23:30All right, I'm not going to go too much longer.
- 23:31I always say that, but you guys are still watching 193 of you.
- 23:34I appreciate it and we'll just kind of reset the title.
- 23:39Breaking news, 2311 Racing and Front Row Motorsports denied
- 23:43hearing and could lose their charters next week.
- 23:46So not for Sonoma, but seven days from now, these teams could
- 23:52be racing as open teams, which means they lose out on the
- 23:55financial incentive of being a chartered team.
- 23:59Plus they would have to qualify in any races if there's more
- 24:03than 40 cars, which probably wouldn't happen very much at
- 24:06all. But look, just last week in
- 24:08Chicago, you had Katherine leg qualified in over Corey Heim.
- 24:12So you could have some of these big teams.
- 24:14I mean we're talking Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace.
- 24:18What if something were to happen, right?
- 24:20They have to go to A to a backup car.
- 24:22They they crash in qualifying. I mean, because you have one of
- 24:27these big name drivers that don't make the show and that
- 24:31would be that would be a massive story, obviously.
- 24:34Yeah. DG1 smash that like button,
- 24:36baby. Thank you for that.
- 24:39Lou Apnosla. Thank God they changed that up.
- 24:42Rotating the final race. Finally, somebody besides Penske
- 24:46will win. We shall see.
- 24:47Penske certainly has the code cracked when it comes to
- 24:52Phoenix, that's for sure. Winning the last three
- 24:55championships, all three championships in the next
- 24:58genera. Joey Logano Ryan Blaney back to
- 25:01Joey Logano. Let's see here, I want to see
- 25:04how many of y'all are watching or have been watching on YouTube
- 25:09because I appreciate you guys on a Wednesday saw this breaking
- 25:13news. Thought I'd jump on and chat
- 25:15with you so far, 1100 of you have been watching this live
- 25:20stream and while I got you by the way, we did a coffee with
- 25:24Kenny put that out earlier where Kenny was talking about some big
- 25:26news in F1. He was talking about Bowman Gray
- 25:29returning for the Clash and also he had a nice tribute to his mom
- 25:34who said gave him some needed tough love when he was a kid.
- 25:37And then also we have Herman Schrader coming up on YouTube
- 25:43and it's already out there on Dirty MO Media Podcast.
- 25:47So if you want to listen to Herman Schrader right now, you
- 25:49can go to Dirty MO Media Podcast and it's there ready to
- 25:53rock'n'roll. I was going to put it on YouTube
- 25:55at 1:00, but because I went live, we'll probably let this,
- 25:59we'll let this live stream marinate on YouTube for a couple
- 26:01hours and then we'll put Herman Schrader up here on YouTube.
- 26:04So you can see the video in a couple hours here.
- 26:07How about that? Is that fair?
- 26:09Let's see. Patrick James Simpson, the
- 26:12Daytona 500 should never have stage racing or overtime.
- 26:18Gary Palmer says watching on YouTube, thank you.
- 26:21You're going to watch Herman Trader on YouTube.
- 26:23Appreciate that. Charlie Ann says, rub some paint
- 26:28on that like button. How about that?
- 26:31And Justin Moore says, does this mean certain charters could go
- 26:34up for sale? I don't think anything's going
- 26:37to happen with these charters in terms of sales this year.
- 26:41I think they have to figure it out if it goes to a trial or a
- 26:44settlement. This is certainly bad news for
- 26:462311 in front of Motorsports for this year if they have to run as
- 26:50open teams. But I don't think, I don't think
- 26:54any of that in terms of sales in the future will be impacted
- 26:57until we have a trial or a settlement which would start in
- 27:00December if it's a trial. Let's see.
- 27:04Lou App Nosla you and Kenny could probably with some
- 27:07suggestions from the knowledge non hating NASCAR fan could do
- 27:11some serious digging and get a lot of clicks and bait likes
- 27:15doing what I don't. I don't think we do the click
- 27:17bait. I think we're pretty fair here,
- 27:19don't you think? What do you think?
- 27:22I think we're pretty fair with our titles.
- 27:23We don't do click bait. We try to sell our titles a
- 27:26little bit at the market. It all right, it's promotion,
- 27:28but I don't think we're click bait.
- 27:30Let's see. Megan, sorry all.
- 27:33Thanks, Charlie. You make it make sense.
- 27:35Andrew Barela, much love from Central Valley of California.
- 27:39Thank you, Andrew. Let's see.
- 27:43Patrick James Simpson, how much money has Jordan got to lose?
- 27:46When does he say enough? He's got a lot of money to lose.
- 27:48He doesn't want to lose it, but that man's got a lot, a lot, a
- 27:51lot, a lot, a lot of money. Let's just Google it real quick.
- 27:55Michael Jordan net worth right in the billions for sure.
- 27:59What are we thinking? Michael Jordan net worth?
- 28:03What's your guess? I'm going to say, could it be
- 28:07like 3 billion? Here we go.
- 28:11Oh, look at that. This is according, I just
- 28:14Googled it, 3.5 billion by Forbes.
- 28:18That was 2025. So I was pretty close to, I said
- 28:20three billion, 3.5 billion according to Forbes.
- 28:24So he's got a lot of money to lose in theory, although he
- 28:28certainly doesn't want to lose any money.
- 28:31Does anybody want to lose money? I sure as hell don't.
- 28:34Let's see. 800 million. Nope. 3.5 Billy Baby.
- 28:40Let's see. Please save NASCAR from the
- 28:43silliness of the gimmick races. Now.
- 28:46What are you talking about? They're talking about.
- 28:48Are you talking about Chicago St. course?
- 28:51I like that race. Let's see.
- 28:56Lou Abnasso says it was said that NASCAR was going to delete
- 28:59them down to 32 if this went bad.
- 29:01That was before the two extra teams.
- 29:03So yeah, you could have less charters next year if they lose.
- 29:07A, a trial, for sure. Chump change.
- 29:10Yeah. I think, look, Michael Jordan
- 29:14doesn't start this fight if he doesn't think, A, he has a good
- 29:18chance of winning and B, he has the financial wherewithal to
- 29:23stick it out. I mean, you think he thought
- 29:25this was going to end quick, right?
- 29:27We, we potentially have a trial. And these lawyers are not cheap
- 29:30folks. As you know, NASCAR needs needs
- 29:35the Jordan connection. Do they need the Jordan
- 29:38connection? Is that what you're saying?
- 29:40Let me read real quick one more time the statement from the
- 29:43attorney for 2311 Racing in Front Row Motorsports.
- 29:49Just if some of you are joining us here at the end, I read this
- 29:52earlier. This is from Jeffrey Kessler.
- 29:55He's the attorney for the teams suing NASCAR.
- 29:59And here's his statement. Quote.
- 30:01We are disappointed by the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals
- 30:04decision to deny our request for a full rehearing.
- 30:08This decision has no bearing on the strength of our antitrust
- 30:12case, which we look forward to presenting at trial.
- 30:14We are committed to racing this season as we continue to fight
- 30:17for more competitive and fair terms for all teams to ensure
- 30:21the future of the sport and remain fully confident in our
- 30:25case. End Quote.
- 30:27So there you go, we got more people joining 217.
- 30:31Now you see the headline. Breaking news is a couple hours
- 30:35ago, 2311 Racing and Front Row Motorsports denied hearing they
- 30:40could lose their charters next week.
- 30:43So 3-4 weeks ago when this first came out and then the teams had
- 30:48their chance to appeal and ask for a rehearing.
- 30:51So today they lost that. Now there's a seven day period
- 30:54where they could lose their charters.
- 30:56So it won't impact Sonoma coming up this weekend, but it could
- 30:59impact, it could impact Dover. Let's check the schedule real
- 31:04quick. So basically here we are.
- 31:08Do do, do. Just had Chicago, Shane van
- 31:10Gisbergen one, as you know, you have Sonoma coming up, you got
- 31:14Dover after that. You got the Brickyard at Indy
- 31:17after that, that closes out July.
- 31:20But yes, starting in Dover, starting at Dover, you could
- 31:24have 2311 Racing and Front Row Motorsports running as open
- 31:28teams. They lose out on the financial,
- 31:32the financial boom that you get from being a chartered team.
- 31:36And also if there's more than 40 cars, they would have to qualify
- 31:38their way in. And if something bad happened in
- 31:41qualifying, they could actually not make the show on Sunday,
- 31:46which their sponsors would not be happy about.
- 31:49As you know, I also have a feeling all the sponsors kind of
- 31:53knew what was what was going on, right?
- 31:56There's a lot of talk about the team.
- 31:57So look, those sponsors, they're, they're getting some
- 32:02extra publicity also, even if you could say it's negative
- 32:04publicity, but there's a lot of talk about these drivers and
- 32:07these cars and you're seeing these cars more on the track or
- 32:11in pictures or in articles if they're talking about the
- 32:14lawsuit. So from a sponsorship
- 32:15standpoint, I think they're getting some good brand
- 32:18recognition, even if it's not, even if it's not always
- 32:23positive. But to me, this is just
- 32:25business. This is business, right?
- 32:26This happens in every major sport.
- 32:28Every major sport you have, we're going to call this a labor
- 32:32issue, whether it's a strike, whether it's a, a lockout,
- 32:36right? Every sport, I mean, I'm 43
- 32:39years old, every sport has gone through this.
- 32:42Baseball, the strike, right? You had another, you had another
- 32:46strike or you had a lockout that pushed the season going back to
- 32:52when was that? That was like 2020-2021,
- 32:55remember now they had to kind of, they had to speed up the
- 32:58season later. They have these crazy double
- 33:00headers and all that. That was just within the last
- 33:03five years. Hockey has had two strikes to
- 33:06work stoppages in recent memory, right?
- 33:09The NBA 2 that that 50 game season was that about 20 years
- 33:13ago. Football.
- 33:15I know they had a lockout when I was covering the Rams.
- 33:19Now they didn't miss any games, NFL didn't, but that was a
- 33:22lockout in the offseason. That was probably 1012 years ago
- 33:28if I remember correctly. Let's see.
- 33:31Charlie, do you have a win prediction for Sonoma?
- 33:36Should I just go? Should I go SVG?
- 33:38Is that too easy? What about Michael McDowell?
- 33:43How about Michael McDowell running so well?
- 33:46Remember, he he led, what do you lead 30 laps?
- 33:49I think he actually LED more laps than Shane van Gisbergen at
- 33:53the Chicago race here. Let's, let's, let's find it real
- 33:56quick. I believe he led 31 laps.
- 33:59I looked that up the other day. So Shane van Gisbergen LED 26
- 34:04laps and Michael McDowell LED 31 laps of that race before things
- 34:11went sour for him. Won that first stage, finished
- 34:1432nd but had good speed. He was given SVG everything he
- 34:18had. So I'm going to be a good story
- 34:21of Shane van Gisbergen. One, I'm going to go with
- 34:23Michael McDowell. I'd like to see Michael McDowell
- 34:26win that race. What do you guys think?
- 34:28I'm trying to think of other of other drivers that haven't won
- 34:32this year that I'd like to see get a road course victory.
- 34:38What about what about AJ Allen Niger?
- 34:40That'd be a good story. He's 15th in points right now.
- 34:43So he's he's running well. Still need to win.
- 34:47McDowell obviously needs a win. Who are other good Rd. course
- 34:51racers? Shane van Gisbergen already has
- 34:54two wins. I mean, is it going to be, is it
- 34:58going to be a road course specialist or is is one of the
- 35:03big, I mean Chase Elliott's a good Rd. course driver.
- 35:05Obviously what you have you had the other day, Denny Hamlin
- 35:10finished fourth on the street course.
- 35:13I mean look, Ty Gibbs finished second in that race.
- 35:17Tyler Reddick, he's obviously a really good Rd. course racer.
- 35:20Kyle Busch finished fifth. I'd like to see Kyle Busch.
- 35:23I still want to see Kyle Busch win a race.
- 35:26I've given you 10 answers right now.
- 35:27Could Ty Gibbs first ever win be at Sonoma in the Cup Series?
- 35:31Kyle Busch hasn't won in forever.
- 35:34I'd like to see Kyle Busch get a win.
- 35:36I gave you 5 answers there which didn't really answer your
- 35:39question, but there you go. I would like to see Bubba
- 35:43Wallace get a road course victory.
- 35:46That'd be pretty sweet, pretty sweet.
- 35:49DG one, it's time for a new sanctioning body and new tracks
- 35:52to race at. But they're they're going to new
- 35:55tracks, right? I'm in Mexico City, Chicago St.
- 35:58course. I said this on Herman Schrader.
- 36:00You can listen to it right now on Dirty MO Media.
- 36:02It's coming out on YouTube later.
- 36:03I said I think NASCAR is doing a good job of melding the old with
- 36:06the new, the old fan with the new fans.
- 36:08New stuff, Mexico City and Chicago St. course and maybe a
- 36:12San Diego St. course, right? But the old fans, they got North
- 36:16Wilkesboro, they got Rockingham, they got Bowman Gray.
- 36:19I feel like they're trying their best to serve all the different
- 36:22fans. And I'm somebody who's critical
- 36:24of NASCAR. I feel like when it's fair and I
- 36:26I think NASCAR is doing a hell of a job in that capacity.
- 36:29I think they got to clean up the playoffs a little bit and I
- 36:32think all offseason all they have to do, they just have to
- 36:34fix the car on the short tracks, figure it out, do it, do tons of
- 36:38testing, let the teams tinker, let the teams figure it out,
- 36:42clean up the short track racing and no more fuel saving.
- 36:45Figure it out at superspeedways. Other than that, and I know it's
- 36:48that's a lot, but like intermediate racing pretty Dang
- 36:51good, don't you think? Rd. course racing pretty Dang
- 36:54good, don't you think? Chicago I thought was really
- 36:56good. Koda earlier this year was a
- 36:59great race. Christopher Bell, remember, he
- 37:01was holding off, held off Kyle Busch at the end of that was
- 37:04great racing. So look it, it is a lot, but if
- 37:10you figured out intermediates, you've figured out Rd. course
- 37:13racing. Fix the short tracks and and
- 37:16Atlanta is great too by the way. Atlanta is great also.
- 37:19But super Speedway racing fans don't want to see fuel saving,
- 37:23neither do I Fix the short track package and NASCAR.
- 37:27I think a lot of people will stop complaining.
- 37:29Actually, people are always going to complain, but a lot of
- 37:31people will stop. People love to complain.
- 37:34Let's be real. Let's be real.
- 37:36OK, here we go. With any luck, the entire field
- 37:41will beat Denny Hamlin. Not a Hamlin fan, huh?
- 37:44Huh. I think an underrated problem is
- 37:47the bump out of four at TMS. OK, we're getting real, real
- 37:53particular here. Let's see all.
- 37:56Right, I'll tell you what, I wasn't going to go long.
- 37:59I did go long. Thank you guys.
- 38:01Seriously, thank you all for for jumping in the comments.

- 38:26front row Motorsports denied hearing could lose their
- 38:29charters next week. They could run as open teams for
- 38:32the Dover race. They lose out on a bunch of
- 38:35money. They would have to qualify their
- 38:37way in if they lose that charter status next week.
- 38:41There you go. All right, guys, thank you so
- 38:42much. Love you all.
- 38:45Charlie Marlowe signing off.
