- 0:00Speaker 1: Mm from grandmothers who whispered in their baby girl in
- 0:13Speaker 1: two fathers on dimly lit street corners, instructing young soldiers
- 0:16Speaker 1: to always keep their eyes open. You be queen, you
- 0:21Speaker 1: were fired. You will pass through centuries on the hands
- 0:24Speaker 1: of your daughters. They called you wisdom. Proverbs on the
- 0:28Speaker 1: backs of diamond eyed school children who growing into hymnals
- 0:32Speaker 1: recited by amethyst holding urban philosophers who recited neighborhood commandments
- 0:37Speaker 1: out of the windows of restored ALCHEMYO cheriots to keep
- 0:40Speaker 1: the warmth of their blood. Be wise, be smart, being black,

- 1:00Speaker 1: And the ancestors told me that you would come to
- 1:04Speaker 1: give wisdom thousands. They said you would come Dropping Dropping gem. Hey,
- 1:11Speaker 1: welcome back another episode of the Dropping Gyms podcast per usual.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I am your host, Stevie Brown. Every time I hear
- 1:19Speaker 1: the intro to the show, it fills me with joy.
- 1:24Speaker 1: So just because I want to do a quick shout
- 1:26Speaker 1: out to my friend Namdi okafor who wrote and performed
- 1:30Speaker 1: that beautiful poem for me for this show and it
- 1:33Speaker 1: just means the world. I love it. Every time I
- 1:35Speaker 1: hear it makes me smile, and I you know, a
- 1:38Speaker 1: couple of times I get people commenting on it, UM
- 1:40Speaker 1: that kind of noticed some of the some of the
- 1:43Speaker 1: influence in it and some of the words, and I
- 1:45Speaker 1: always really appreciate getting that feedback because it makes me smile.
- 1:50Speaker 1: All right, everybody, So we're here another episode of the
- 1:53Speaker 1: Dropping Gyms podcast. Today we're going to be revisiting one
- 1:57Speaker 1: of the classic episodes of this show, The Pressures of
- 2:02Speaker 1: Finding Your Purpose. I did an episode on purpose last
- 2:06Speaker 1: year and it became a runaway hit of the show.
- 2:09Speaker 1: That episode, along with conversations about God and grief, UM,
- 2:14Speaker 1: got so many plays and so much feedback, and everyone
- 2:20Speaker 1: has been consistently asking me for a part two to
- 2:22Speaker 1: that episode, and so today that's what we're going to
- 2:25Speaker 1: dive into. You know, when I first recorded that episode,
- 2:28Speaker 1: the Pressure of Finding Your Purpose, it was last year,
- 2:32Speaker 1: pre pandemic, and I felt really connected to everything that
- 2:37Speaker 1: I shared. But now that I am a new version
- 2:39Speaker 1: of me, as are we all, now that I have
- 2:42Speaker 1: shed the girl that the woman that voiced that podcast
- 2:47Speaker 1: and shared her thoughts now that she's been shed and
- 2:49Speaker 1: there's a new, expended, glorious woman in her space in
- 2:54Speaker 1: her place, I wanted to update some thoughts in some
- 2:58Speaker 1: ways that I've been exploring purpose and the way it
- 3:01Speaker 1: shows up in my life in our new normal. So
- 3:05Speaker 1: I'm excited to dive into this conversation to day, and
- 3:10Speaker 1: if you haven't yet, I do highly recommend that before
- 3:13Speaker 1: we get into this episode, you do take a moment
- 3:16Speaker 1: to listen to the episode from last year that's titled
- 3:18Speaker 1: The Pressure of Finding Your Purpose, because I think it's
- 3:21Speaker 1: going to really help with some of what we're talking about.
- 3:24Speaker 1: In that episode, we really unpacked, like what are the
- 3:26Speaker 1: definitions of purpose? And I'm talking the micro and the
- 3:30Speaker 1: macro levels, right, like what how is web start define
- 3:33Speaker 1: and purpose? How's our church defined and purpose? How's our
- 3:36Speaker 1: soul defined and purpose? Because what I came defined when
- 3:40Speaker 1: we explored it in that episode was really how so
- 3:44Speaker 1: many of us are walking around in judgment of ourselves
- 3:48Speaker 1: and our lives because we don't understand the true meaning
- 3:52Speaker 1: of that word. And so whatever projection we've put onto
- 3:56Speaker 1: that word, whatever projections we've been putting onto ourselves usually
- 4:00Speaker 1: manifests as even more experiences of lack or confusion or
- 4:05Speaker 1: frustration as we attempt to do what is very literally,
- 4:09Speaker 1: in my belief, um, the entire point of being here.
- 4:13Speaker 1: You know, uh, I always I love to share this,
- 4:16Speaker 1: but it's so funny to me sometimes just a little
- 4:19Speaker 1: giggle when I hear people talking about purpose with such
- 4:24Speaker 1: nonchalance or with um with such a projected urgency. You know, this,
- 4:36Speaker 1: this idea that in one weekend of vision boarding you'll
- 4:40Speaker 1: find your purpose, or this idea that with one book
- 4:43Speaker 1: you'll find your purpose, and then your purpose will be
- 4:45Speaker 1: your job. And now you've made it, and now you
- 4:48Speaker 1: get to tell everybody about your purpose. And that's not
- 4:51Speaker 1: how it works, and that's not how it feels, and
- 4:54Speaker 1: it's not designed to be that way. You know, your
- 4:56Speaker 1: purpose is something to be savored. Your purpose is a
- 5:02Speaker 1: constant surrender and a constant evolution in the big and
- 5:08Speaker 1: the small and the unseen and the scene ways. You know,
- 5:12Speaker 1: when we tap into our purpose, the way that I
- 5:15Speaker 1: believe is that we are tapped into our godliness. We
- 5:20Speaker 1: are tapped into our soul's mission of why we came here,
- 5:26Speaker 1: why we exist here, what we are to be, what
- 5:29Speaker 1: we are to do, and so as we talk about
- 5:31Speaker 1: purpose today, and I'm gonna lead you on a meditation
- 5:34Speaker 1: in a few moments around purpose. But as we get
- 5:38Speaker 1: ready to kind of lock into this conversation about purpose,
- 5:41Speaker 1: I do want to really encourage everyone to leave the
- 5:45Speaker 1: judgments for yourself at the door. Don't come into this
- 5:49Speaker 1: safe container judging yourself. It's not allowed. What we do
- 5:52Speaker 1: on this show, any of the topics that we explore,
- 5:54Speaker 1: any of the deepenings that we come into, it is
- 5:57Speaker 1: all about a gentleness with self, a forgiveness of self,
- 6:01Speaker 1: a compassion of self. So wherever you find yourself on
- 6:05Speaker 1: this quote unquote purpose journey, whether you believe to be
- 6:08Speaker 1: in yours or you feel like it's beyond your grasp,
- 6:12Speaker 1: just know you are enough right now. Your life matters,
- 6:17Speaker 1: has value, is cherish, is important, and God commanded you
- 6:22Speaker 1: to be here. And so regardless of any skill sets
- 6:25Speaker 1: you have or don't, regardless of how life has shaped
- 6:29Speaker 1: up thus far, we're not going to argue with God
- 6:33Speaker 1: today about who you're called to be. We're gonna surrender
- 6:35Speaker 1: and we're gonna open and we're gonna see what's available
- 6:38Speaker 1: to us. So that is the plan for my thoughts
- 6:42Speaker 1: on purpose. Uh, And as we get started, let's go
- 6:45Speaker 1: ahead and dig into real briefly some of the previous
- 6:47Speaker 1: definitions used for purpose. And again I really expand on
- 6:50Speaker 1: this on that previous episode that I did, so just
- 6:53Speaker 1: you know, go back and do the things. However, however,
- 6:56Speaker 1: podcasts work do that. So let's think about some of
- 7:00Speaker 1: the definitions of purpose. You know, purpose is what I believe,
- 7:05Speaker 1: the reason for which something is done or created, having
- 7:08Speaker 1: one's intention or objective. And the funny thing about that
- 7:12Speaker 1: is that is actually like the Webster's Dictionary definition. Right,
- 7:16Speaker 1: let's save for that that line for a second. The
- 7:18Speaker 1: reason for which something is done or created the purpose
- 7:24Speaker 1: of it. Now, let's apply that to our lives and
- 7:28Speaker 1: the way we experience God and the way we experience ourselves.
- 7:32Speaker 1: So purpose, the reason for which something is done or created,
- 7:36Speaker 1: very literally the root of our existence. And I just
- 7:41Speaker 1: want to drill that home because I really want to
- 7:43Speaker 1: disconnect this idea that purpose has to show up as
- 7:45Speaker 1: a job title. I think it's very dangerous to do that,
- 7:49Speaker 1: and it's very minimizing to do that. Like, our life
- 7:51Speaker 1: is so much bigger than who we work for and
- 7:54Speaker 1: what we happen to be doing at this moment in time,
- 7:57Speaker 1: um and what our title is, you know, And so
- 8:00Speaker 1: when we think about purpose as it relates to our career,
- 8:03Speaker 1: sometimes yes, the two intersect, you know. In this moment,
- 8:07Speaker 1: I believe that my purpose is beautifully aligned with what
- 8:11Speaker 1: I happened to do for work. However, if that was
- 8:15Speaker 1: not the case, I still have purpose. And I've known
- 8:18Speaker 1: of my purpose even before I had the opportunities that
- 8:21Speaker 1: I have in this moment. And it's really staying connected
- 8:24Speaker 1: to the faith in your purpose and the understanding that
- 8:28Speaker 1: Divine has put on your heart that you know, even
- 8:32Speaker 1: if it's not quantifiable, and even if the rest of
- 8:34Speaker 1: the world has not yet taken notice. And so it's
- 8:37Speaker 1: so important to sit in that. I recently did alive
- 8:40Speaker 1: um with the Tone It Up Community with Karina Don.
- 8:43Speaker 1: She invited me onto her platform and she and I
- 8:46Speaker 1: had a really beautiful opportunity to become familiar with each
- 8:49Speaker 1: other working together on a Chopra virtual retreat that we
- 8:53Speaker 1: did with Deepak Chopra last year that I hosted. And
- 8:56Speaker 1: she has created just something phenomen and all just an incredible,
- 9:01Speaker 1: incredible business with her purpose with the Tone It Up Community.
- 9:05Speaker 1: So shout out to everybody to join me there. But
- 9:08Speaker 1: you know something, one of the things that came up
- 9:10Speaker 1: when we were doing that live is someone shared you know, well,
- 9:15Speaker 1: I believe my purpose is my singing, is being a singer, right,
- 9:21Speaker 1: And what I thought was really beautiful about that was,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you know, she very clearly identified one of I'm sure
- 9:28Speaker 1: the gifts that God gave her, which is her voice,
- 9:30Speaker 1: which is a beautiful voice, and ability to have something
- 9:34Speaker 1: that brings people joy come out of your own body,
- 9:37Speaker 1: um or that makes people stop and awe, come out
- 9:40Speaker 1: of your own body. But what is important to me
- 9:43Speaker 1: is that when we're defining what purposes for ourselves, it
- 9:48Speaker 1: really isn't in the quantifiable pieces. So being a singer
- 9:55Speaker 1: is not her purpose. So that is a job, right
- 9:57Speaker 1: Like being a singer is typically the offshoot of being
- 10:02Speaker 1: able to sing. It's something that you do and can
- 10:04Speaker 1: potentially do well and for money, but that's not required.
- 10:08Speaker 1: And so if you sing but you are not a
- 10:14Speaker 1: known singer, you might feel like you are falling short
- 10:18Speaker 1: of your purpose. But that's not true at all, because
- 10:22Speaker 1: the mechanism of purpose is the gift. It is not
- 10:25Speaker 1: you having to come up with all the ways that
- 10:27Speaker 1: the gift is received. The way the gift is received
- 10:32Speaker 1: is in God's hands. How you maneuver once you've identified
- 10:36Speaker 1: the gift is the responsibility of your purpose on your shoulders.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And so when I was kind of speaking to that
- 10:43Speaker 1: question on the live, it really brought forward for me
- 10:46Speaker 1: that you know, she can sing her gift is to
- 10:50Speaker 1: be an instrument of God. Her gift, her purpose is
- 10:55Speaker 1: to be an instrument of God. However that manifests, and
- 10:58Speaker 1: so that particular gift, gift is one aspect of her purpose.
- 11:03Speaker 1: But she doesn't even have to make a living doing
- 11:06Speaker 1: that to be in her purpose, right, And I think
- 11:09Speaker 1: that's where it's really important that we start dissecting what
- 11:12Speaker 1: is our connectedness to society when we view ourselves and
- 11:15Speaker 1: our purpose and capitalism and consumerism, and what is actually
- 11:20Speaker 1: our connectedness to source, to the creator and the way
- 11:25Speaker 1: we are looking to co create a life of purpose
- 11:28Speaker 1: and impact. So that's just something I want you to
- 11:31Speaker 1: keep kind of in your mind's eye as we continue
- 11:33Speaker 1: this conversation and as you explore your purpose in your
- 11:36Speaker 1: life off of this show. But when we really think
- 11:40Speaker 1: about the way purpose shows up for us, it's in
- 11:46Speaker 1: all of the ways we are able to serve, and
- 11:49Speaker 1: that doesn't have to mean that you're receiving money for
- 11:52Speaker 1: it or you're receiving the job title for it. Um.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Something that was brought up in that life that I
- 11:57Speaker 1: did too, was was around you know, UM, really wanting
- 12:00Speaker 1: purpose to be associated with career and wanting to have
- 12:03Speaker 1: a life where what you did for a living was
- 12:06Speaker 1: connected to your purpose and all that is absolutely possible.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I mean, once listen at the end of the day,
- 12:10Speaker 1: when you fly and find the flow of what your
- 12:13Speaker 1: gifts are from God and what your purposes, everything aligns
- 12:16Speaker 1: around it because that's why you're here. But it's important
- 12:20Speaker 1: to chase the gift and not chase the job. All
- 12:24Speaker 1: of that will come. You know, when when Source created
- 12:28Speaker 1: us and brought us to Earth, there was no societal
- 12:32Speaker 1: system in place yet, right, depending on what your belief
- 12:35Speaker 1: system is, and you know when you think time began,
- 12:38Speaker 1: even still, there was no societal system that was there
- 12:41Speaker 1: when man first entered earth, you know. And so the
- 12:45Speaker 1: idea that something we created like work, like jobs, like society, time, money,
- 12:54Speaker 1: all these things. To think that that had any real
- 12:58Speaker 1: connectedness to God, it I think really undercuts the grandness
- 13:02Speaker 1: of God. Those are things that we put in place
- 13:04Speaker 1: to understand our experiences, to control our experiences, to create
- 13:08Speaker 1: systems that quantify our experiences, and structure, you know, to
- 13:13Speaker 1: support it. But God didn't put you on earth saying
- 13:16Speaker 1: you shall be a lawyer, you my child, shall be
- 13:19Speaker 1: a doctor, you shall be whatever right, You shall be
- 13:23Speaker 1: someone's wife, you shall be someone's this. That's not really
- 13:27Speaker 1: how it works. You know. We created those words, we
- 13:31Speaker 1: created those positions, We created those categories and things, and
- 13:34Speaker 1: then the expectation is that something we created God would
- 13:38Speaker 1: perfectly formulate and assimilate us in those packages. And it's
- 13:43Speaker 1: the reversal of that, you know. It's really our gifts
- 13:47Speaker 1: or how we best communicate with Him, Him, Her Father, Mother, God,
- 13:52Speaker 1: for the highest good of ourselves and all concerned. That's
- 13:55Speaker 1: how I live it, That's how I understand it. So
- 13:59Speaker 1: I want to talk about ways to really begin to
- 14:01Speaker 1: notice where your purpose is and I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 14:06Speaker 1: tackle it from my new experiences in this pandemic. But again,
- 14:10Speaker 1: if you kind of want to get the full breakdown,
- 14:12Speaker 1: go back to that first episode. The pressure of finding
- 14:14Speaker 1: your purpose. But when I think about purpose in this moment,
- 14:17Speaker 1: in time, you know, something that I think has been
- 14:20Speaker 1: a tremendous gift of the pandemic for those that really
- 14:24Speaker 1: took this as an opportunity to self investigate and open
- 14:28Speaker 1: wounds and clear out traumas and dissolve, you know, any
- 14:32Speaker 1: against nous of ourselves that we may be holding. This
- 14:36Speaker 1: moment in time has really allowed us to see how
- 14:41Speaker 1: worthy we are without all the trappings of everything else.
- 14:44Speaker 1: You know, many people have used this moment to meet
- 14:47Speaker 1: themselves more deeply, to heal aspects of themselves that have
- 14:51Speaker 1: been hidden, to really be with themselves and really all
- 14:56Speaker 1: the grief that comes with that, and all the messiness
- 14:58Speaker 1: that comes with that, and all the joy that comes
- 15:02Speaker 1: with that, and all the love that comes with God.
- 15:04Speaker 1: You know. But in that something has become really brilliantly clear,
- 15:09Speaker 1: I think for so many of us, and that our
- 15:12Speaker 1: worth is not going to be tied to society. My
- 15:16Speaker 1: worth is not tied to what someone's perception of me is.
- 15:19Speaker 1: My worth is not tied to who's cutting me a
- 15:22Speaker 1: check or what my job title is. My worth is
- 15:25Speaker 1: my worth because God commanded me to be here, and
- 15:27Speaker 1: I'm showing up for myself, period. And I don't have
- 15:32Speaker 1: any rigidity about how that has to look for me
- 15:36Speaker 1: to feel good about me, or for me to feel
- 15:38Speaker 1: good about my life, or for me to share my
- 15:40Speaker 1: purpose and share my gifts with other people and share
- 15:43Speaker 1: my light with other people. So as we investigate purpose,
- 15:46Speaker 1: and you know, those tips are kind of in that
- 15:48Speaker 1: other episode, but as we investigate purpose, I think a
- 15:52Speaker 1: real deepening of your understanding now outside of you know,
- 15:56Speaker 1: some of the tips that I've given over time is
- 15:59Speaker 1: like sitting in meditation and really exploring that inner child you,
- 16:03Speaker 1: you know, exploring what are the pieces of you that
- 16:07Speaker 1: meets you light up that had nothing to do with
- 16:09Speaker 1: job title or money. What were those things that made
- 16:13Speaker 1: you feel really yummy about yourself are really seen or
- 16:16Speaker 1: ways that you knew you were making a difference to
- 16:19Speaker 1: somebody else just naturally and effortlessly. You know, as we
- 16:23Speaker 1: explore purpose, it's so important to explore what where is
- 16:27Speaker 1: there ease? What are the qualities about yourself? What are
- 16:31Speaker 1: the ways you show up in the world that have
- 16:34Speaker 1: ease to them. Typically, the area of your life that
- 16:40Speaker 1: has the greatest impact with the greatest ease is the
- 16:44Speaker 1: thing you need to be paying the most attention to,
- 16:46Speaker 1: but sometimes it doesn't seem so great or so grand.
- 16:49Speaker 1: But again, it's about the gift. It's about the characteristic,
- 16:53Speaker 1: it's about the essence of you and the energy. Once
- 16:56Speaker 1: you identify that, you can quantify it till you're blue
- 17:00Speaker 1: in the face. You can you can funnel it into
- 17:03Speaker 1: a host of different careers. And you know, an example
- 17:06Speaker 1: for me to use with myself is that I think
- 17:10Speaker 1: I came to this earth after many, many lifetimes of
- 17:12Speaker 1: being here in other places, with a certain psychological skill set,
- 17:17Speaker 1: a certain ability to express myself that, even at a
- 17:23Speaker 1: young age, felt really fine tuned without requiring a lot
- 17:27Speaker 1: of me. Being able to talk, being able to show
- 17:30Speaker 1: up and speak and share ideas or hold space for
- 17:33Speaker 1: other people is my default setting. And so any work
- 17:37Speaker 1: that I do in the world, even though I've had
- 17:38Speaker 1: to work really hard at it and really practice and
- 17:42Speaker 1: really bring on more skill sets, But everything that I
- 17:45Speaker 1: do in the world, it's the offshoot of that. It's
- 17:49Speaker 1: the offshoot of those abilities, of that way of being.
- 17:53Speaker 1: You know, I believe that the way that I love
- 17:55Speaker 1: myself and I'm able to love other people is a
- 17:58Speaker 1: big part of my purpose. It's something that has always
- 18:02Speaker 1: been a part of me, even in times of my
- 18:04Speaker 1: life that were really challenging, and even in times of
- 18:07Speaker 1: my life as a kid where people made me feel
- 18:11Speaker 1: I don't want to say made me feel um, but
- 18:14Speaker 1: where I misunderstood the wounds of other people and internalized
- 18:19Speaker 1: it as things that were not special about me, Like
- 18:24Speaker 1: my exuberance. I'm a very enthusiastic, bubbly person. I love
- 18:28Speaker 1: to smile, and it's my choice to smile. You know,
- 18:31Speaker 1: It's not it's not because I'm always happy, and it's
- 18:34Speaker 1: not because you know, I don't see things that are happening.
- 18:38Speaker 1: It's just I enjoy it. I enjoy feeling good, and
- 18:42Speaker 1: whatever I need to do to do that from the
- 18:44Speaker 1: inside out is a non negotiable and it's my top priority.
- 18:47Speaker 1: But when I was a kid, a lot of comments
- 18:49Speaker 1: I be is like, ah, you always smiling? What you
- 18:51Speaker 1: always so happy about? You know? And I took that
- 18:54Speaker 1: to mean that something was wrong with the way that
- 18:57Speaker 1: I was being and actuality. I was as being a
- 19:00Speaker 1: mirror for the wounds of adults and the wounds of
- 19:05Speaker 1: people that were feeling hurt and disconnected from themselves, and
- 19:08Speaker 1: so there was a projection on me for that and
- 19:11Speaker 1: now that I know that, I don't have to take
- 19:12Speaker 1: that on. So it's very similar when we start exploring
- 19:16Speaker 1: our gifts, people don't have to get it. There's something
- 19:21Speaker 1: I saw on Instagram that was like, if people don't
- 19:24Speaker 1: understand you're calling, that's fine because it wasn't a conference call,
- 19:27Speaker 1: you know. So it's the stronger you get in your
- 19:30Speaker 1: sense of self and the more disciplines you get in
- 19:34Speaker 1: the cultivation of your spiritual confidence, you will manifest so
- 19:41Speaker 1: much effortless ease around how you're able to show up
- 19:44Speaker 1: with your gifts in the world and the kind of
- 19:46Speaker 1: opportunities and people that you're able to magnetize to yourself.
- 19:51Speaker 1: You know, two years ago I said I want my
- 19:53Speaker 1: life to be effortless, ease and joy, you know, And
- 19:59Speaker 1: that came with a lot of excavation, that came with
- 20:02Speaker 1: um a lot of dark knights of the soul before
- 20:04Speaker 1: the ease showed up. But I had to clear the path.
- 20:07Speaker 1: And so that's really the same for us when it
- 20:10Speaker 1: comes even to this idea of purpose work or to
- 20:14Speaker 1: this idea of world impact. You know, where do you
- 20:18Speaker 1: need to clear the path and where do you need
- 20:21Speaker 1: to lean into the ease? To the simplicity, to the
- 20:25Speaker 1: effortlessness of your essence, of you being you. Purpose is
- 20:31Speaker 1: not hard. We can build skills around it. But the
- 20:34Speaker 1: core of your purpose is your innate, authentic self, at rest,
- 20:40Speaker 1: at ease, and everything else is how you choose to
- 20:44Speaker 1: build upon it and show up in the world. So
- 20:46Speaker 1: we think about cultivating our purpose. Yes, look for your gifts,
- 20:49Speaker 1: what has ease? Ask around people you trust and know,
- 20:53Speaker 1: how do they see you, how do they experience you?
- 20:55Speaker 1: How do they experience the strongest, most vibrant part of
- 21:00Speaker 1: who you are? And then another side of that is
- 21:05Speaker 1: what wounds are blocking your purpose? You know, very often
- 21:09Speaker 1: times we're not able to connect to the depth of
- 21:12Speaker 1: our purpose because all of our woundings is in the way,
- 21:16Speaker 1: all of the things that have not yet been looked
- 21:18Speaker 1: at or been processed that keeps you from your purpose.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I guarantee you you're not going to be able to
- 21:24Speaker 1: show up in the world is your authentic self. And
- 21:27Speaker 1: that gift of your purpose without exploring your shadows, without
- 21:34Speaker 1: exploring your wounds, without being honest with yourself, and without
- 21:39Speaker 1: beginning those beautiful surrenders, you know, without excavating and having
- 21:47Speaker 1: that self inquiry because so much of our purpose is
- 21:51Speaker 1: also around how we can move through difficulties. For some
- 21:57Speaker 1: of us, our purpose is found in the grace we
- 22:01Speaker 1: manifest in tragedy, or the ways that we stopped betraying
- 22:07Speaker 1: ourselves are the ways that we show up for ourselves
- 22:10Speaker 1: fully with enthusiasm. You know, I feel really, really strongly
- 22:17Speaker 1: that so much of a deepening of my own purpose,
- 22:22Speaker 1: and this is the part that gets really exciting for
- 22:25Speaker 1: me and for all of us. Like I've known that
- 22:28Speaker 1: a lot of my purpose has always been rooted around
- 22:31Speaker 1: my voice, UM, my storytelling, my communication. Always been a
- 22:37Speaker 1: big communicator since I was a kid, went to college college,
- 22:41Speaker 1: you know, participated in debate. Um, I was a broadcast
- 22:45Speaker 1: journalism student. I started my career in radio, worked in
- 22:49Speaker 1: radio for over a decade, so I was always utilizing
- 22:52Speaker 1: my gifts. But the deepening of my purpose came my
- 22:56Speaker 1: ability to really effortlessly use my gifts into service to
- 23:00Speaker 1: the collective and service to my highest good and the
- 23:03Speaker 1: highest good of others came when I started exploring all
- 23:07Speaker 1: the things I didn't accept about myself, all the things
- 23:09Speaker 1: I didn't like about myself, all the areas where I
- 23:13Speaker 1: was so profoundly disappointed by people or deeply betrayed by people,
- 23:17Speaker 1: are broken. When I started really getting into those crevices,
- 23:22Speaker 1: whoop the level of freedom that that brought, the level
- 23:26Speaker 1: of clarity that that brought, and the depth of understanding
- 23:30Speaker 1: of how I was meant to be used as a tool.
- 23:33Speaker 1: You know, purpose is not about self grandizing. Purpose is
- 23:37Speaker 1: not about how other people perceive you and what you're doing.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Purpose is not about you having these celebrations of yourself,
- 23:46Speaker 1: but always celebrate yourself. Always celebrate yourself. But purpose is
- 23:50Speaker 1: not rooted into how quote unquote societally successful you are,
- 23:55Speaker 1: how much money you make. Purpose is did in the
- 24:00Speaker 1: impact of your gifts and your authenticity being generously and
- 24:06Speaker 1: effortlessly and fully given away for the highest good of all.
- 24:12Speaker 1: So with that as a part of it, again, you
- 24:15Speaker 1: can connect your purpose to all of the things. I
- 24:22Speaker 1: said this in this last episode, in that last episode,
- 24:24Speaker 1: and it remains true today. You know, when you've activated
- 24:28Speaker 1: your purpose, whatever you do can have purpose in it.
- 24:31Speaker 1: If you find yourself in a season where you're on sabbatical,
- 24:34Speaker 1: maybe you're not working, maybe you're taking care of home,
- 24:37Speaker 1: your purpose can and will still still show up in
- 24:41Speaker 1: those areas because it's not necessary for you to make
- 24:44Speaker 1: money to be in purpose. But I will say, when
- 24:47Speaker 1: you've tapped into your purpose, you tend to magnetize things
- 24:52Speaker 1: to you effortlessly. Because a major shift in your being happens,
- 24:55Speaker 1: a major shift in your consciousness happens. There is this ascension,
- 24:59Speaker 1: in this elevated nous about why you're here and what
- 25:03Speaker 1: you're here to do. And the byproduct of that is
- 25:07Speaker 1: just being a master manifesto and alcomizing and really calling
- 25:13Speaker 1: things to you and not having to chase the things.
- 25:16Speaker 1: My season of chasing is complete, that karma is complete,
- 25:21Speaker 1: that circle has been finished. I don't chase anything. I
- 25:25Speaker 1: show up, I work hard. I'm the fullest version of myself, transparently, authentically.
- 25:32Speaker 1: I study, I train, I build my skills, and then
- 25:36Speaker 1: I magnetize to me. And so that's the space you
- 25:40Speaker 1: want to fill when you're in purpose. Other people don't
- 25:42Speaker 1: have to know what my purpose is. No one has
- 25:45Speaker 1: to think I'm air quotes successful by any means. That
- 25:49Speaker 1: doesn't matter. But I have to feel good about me.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I don't want to be in a life where I don't.
- 25:56Speaker 1: That to me would be the most awful way of
- 25:59Speaker 1: being feeling good about myself, not feeling good about my life.
- 26:04Speaker 1: And we'll have those phases, we all dip in and
- 26:06Speaker 1: out of that, and there's no shame in that. But
- 26:09Speaker 1: when you're willing to investigate yourself, the times that that
- 26:12Speaker 1: happen and the bounce back from it so much faster,
- 26:17Speaker 1: less and less are you experiencing that is your barrier.
- 26:20Speaker 1: And it's more about how can I shine even more
- 26:23Speaker 1: of me out into the world, and whatever is meant
- 26:26Speaker 1: to happen from that will So investigating your wounds, getting
- 26:31Speaker 1: clear where am I being blocked? Where am I blocking myself?
- 26:34Speaker 1: Where am I sabotaging myself? Around purpose? You know, if
- 26:38Speaker 1: you're scared to be you, you're not necessarily going to
- 26:42Speaker 1: be gifted the fullness of your purpose. You have to
- 26:45Speaker 1: be prepared to wield it. Again, it's not a job title.
- 26:49Speaker 1: It's not something that you know someone else is going
- 26:52Speaker 1: to validate you for, someone else is going to pick
- 26:55Speaker 1: you for. You have already been chosen and yours are
- 27:00Speaker 1: already inside of you. You're waiting for them, You're waiting
- 27:04Speaker 1: to see if they come, and they're there. Now you
- 27:08Speaker 1: just have to press activate. You just have to press
- 27:11Speaker 1: goal on them. But they are available to you, they
- 27:14Speaker 1: are ready. So let's get clear on it. You know,
- 27:18Speaker 1: let's get clear. Let's get clear any areas where wounds
- 27:22Speaker 1: are blocking our purpose, any areas where we need to
- 27:24Speaker 1: be deprogrammed and really think about life again. You know,
- 27:28Speaker 1: back to the earlier example in this episode that I
- 27:30Speaker 1: talked about, like, start investigating your belief system, start investigating
- 27:36Speaker 1: your value system. What do you place value on, what
- 27:40Speaker 1: do you perceive yourself to be lacking, and then reverse
- 27:44Speaker 1: all of those thoughts and statements about you. You lack nothing,
- 27:49Speaker 1: You have everything, but you have to move the wounds
- 27:54Speaker 1: and you have to stand in your power, and then
- 27:57Speaker 1: you have to be willing to show up with all
- 28:00Speaker 1: of your gifts with no expectation. Purpose is not a
- 28:08Speaker 1: feather in our cap. If you're looking to find purpose
- 28:12Speaker 1: because you think it will give you confidence and self love,
- 28:16Speaker 1: it's the other way around, or it's both at the
- 28:18Speaker 1: same time. But don't look at purpose to be that
- 28:22Speaker 1: feather in your cap that validates you and then gives
- 28:25Speaker 1: worth to you or gives perceived worth about you through
- 28:30Speaker 1: other people's eyes. Purpose isn't about boasting. Purpose is about
- 28:38Speaker 1: humbly gratefully surrendering and sharing all of you and having
- 28:44Speaker 1: no fear around how it's received. And then we have
- 28:50Speaker 1: to really sit inside of ourselves and appreciate purpose in
- 28:56Speaker 1: all the ways that it presents itself and all the
- 28:58Speaker 1: levels of being that we're at. You know, when we
- 29:02Speaker 1: tap into our purpose, it's letting it flow, letting it evolve.
- 29:06Speaker 1: If you told me ten years ago, fifteen years ago
- 29:10Speaker 1: that the way my purpose would manifest, that i'd be,
- 29:13Speaker 1: you know, leading daily meditations on a global app, that
- 29:16Speaker 1: that's how I'd be sharing myself with the world, or
- 29:20Speaker 1: on this podcast or all of the things, writing a
- 29:24Speaker 1: book on crystals and now writing my second book, you know,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I there's no way I could have believed it because
- 29:31Speaker 1: I didn't even know there was a wellness industry. Definitely
- 29:36Speaker 1: what it was wasn't then what it is now. Um,
- 29:39Speaker 1: but I wouldn't have even been able to see that.
- 29:41Speaker 1: I wouldn't have even known I could trust it, you know,
- 29:43Speaker 1: And that's that's sometimes the hard part about surrender and
- 29:46Speaker 1: getting started. As humans, our brains are wired to measure
- 29:51Speaker 1: things around predictive behavior. Can I predict and perceive an outcome?
- 29:58Speaker 1: And then I will find safety in it, then I
- 30:00Speaker 1: can do it well. When it comes to us transforming ourselves,
- 30:04Speaker 1: that's not possible because how can you predict what you've
- 30:07Speaker 1: never been? How can you predict what you've never known?
- 30:12Speaker 1: And so that's where that beautiful surrender comes in. That's
- 30:14Speaker 1: where that real opportunity to feel full with your own
- 30:19Speaker 1: validation and with divine sources validation, that's where that really
- 30:24Speaker 1: comes in. So then when your purpose, when the fullness
- 30:27Speaker 1: of it is unlocked or more is revealed to you,
- 30:31Speaker 1: you're given more responsibility for the way that you're going
- 30:34Speaker 1: to show up, You're given larger platforms, you're given a
- 30:36Speaker 1: greater level of this worldly three D earthly success, you know.
- 30:43Speaker 1: But it's really important to get clear on what your
- 30:46Speaker 1: value is and how you feel about you first, because
- 30:50Speaker 1: the work will always get done. The work will always
- 30:55Speaker 1: get done, and not on your timeline. So if there's
- 30:59Speaker 1: any part of this self investigation or this work that
- 31:03Speaker 1: you're avoiding, that's okay, go at your own pace, that
- 31:07Speaker 1: is okay, But just no, it's got to come to
- 31:11Speaker 1: the surface. And so if you know what's there and
- 31:14Speaker 1: you're avoiding it, you then allow the universe to surprise you.
- 31:18Speaker 1: With your timeline of healing, and so that can show
- 31:21Speaker 1: up in a multitude of ways that don't always feel
- 31:24Speaker 1: good or that sometimes can derail your highest vision and
- 31:30Speaker 1: what you believe your path to be. So let's create
- 31:34Speaker 1: our own timelines for our success and our healing, you know,
- 31:38Speaker 1: and really really freely and with joyful discipline and enthusiasm, like,
- 31:43Speaker 1: let's dive into those darker places and let's just see
- 31:46Speaker 1: what we find. Let's see what comes out. Hold that thought.
- 31:52Speaker 1: We are coming right back. I had a really cool
- 32:08Speaker 1: full circle moment this week, and I'm going to share
- 32:11Speaker 1: this before we get into the meditation. It was really
- 32:14Speaker 1: a cool experience and for me, I I just it
- 32:17Speaker 1: just really tickled me, Like I just sat in so
- 32:20Speaker 1: much gratitude and smiles for the way that purpose has
- 32:26Speaker 1: shown up in my life once I really surrendered to it.
- 32:30Speaker 1: So I many of you know, I've talked about this
- 32:32Speaker 1: all the time. I used to work in radio and
- 32:35Speaker 1: I had the really great pleasure of working for a
- 32:36Speaker 1: wonderful company called iHeart Radio, which now full Circle. Uh
- 32:42Speaker 1: my podcast is hosted on iHeart UM. And so I
- 32:45Speaker 1: left terrestrial radio four years ago. Uh yeah, really to
- 32:49Speaker 1: this month about four years ago and I was working
- 32:51Speaker 1: at a station and I just you know, my time
- 32:56Speaker 1: had come, and I just said, there is some other
- 32:58Speaker 1: way I'm supposed to be using myself. I don't really
- 33:00Speaker 1: know how. I don't know what that means, but one
- 33:04Speaker 1: thing about me, when God tells me go, I go.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And so it was just very clear that I needed
- 33:09Speaker 1: to create some spaciousness so that whatever this next stage
- 33:14Speaker 1: and step was for me, I had the space to
- 33:17Speaker 1: receive it, even without knowing what it was. And so
- 33:21Speaker 1: I left my career in radio and I signed off
- 33:24Speaker 1: with my listeners and I said, you know, I'll return
- 33:27Speaker 1: to radio when and if I get the opportunity to
- 33:32Speaker 1: talk about the things that are important to me. And
- 33:35Speaker 1: you know, for the last ten years, I've been just
- 33:37Speaker 1: really entrenched in in self study and certification programs and
- 33:41Speaker 1: really working my process and getting highly trained around trauma
- 33:45Speaker 1: and meditation and well being and all the mechanisms of
- 33:49Speaker 1: healing and different healing modalities, and so I needed all
- 33:53Speaker 1: this time, and so I have this beautiful opportunity, uh
- 33:58Speaker 1: in the last week to be a part of something
- 34:01Speaker 1: really incredible that I heard was doing called Living Black,
- 34:04Speaker 1: where they were exploring um the cultural significance and cultural
- 34:08Speaker 1: impact of blackness on the world and on trends and
- 34:12Speaker 1: on music and on all the things. And it was
- 34:15Speaker 1: a really really special and important programming. And so actually
- 34:20Speaker 1: was my old boss that called me up, and one
- 34:23Speaker 1: of my old bosses, my big, big boss, not my
- 34:25Speaker 1: day to day boss, but my o g exact boss,
- 34:28Speaker 1: and he gave me a call and he asked me
- 34:30Speaker 1: to be a part of it with one of my
- 34:31Speaker 1: best friends, which is Charlemagne, Charlemagne the God, Leonard Um
- 34:36Speaker 1: my family. And so we did this really beautiful segment
- 34:41Speaker 1: within that Living Black Peace and I heard it on
- 34:46Speaker 1: the radio while I was in my car. I was
- 34:47Speaker 1: in Venice speech with a girlfriend, and I turned on
- 34:49Speaker 1: the radio and I heard my voice leading meditation on
- 34:53Speaker 1: the hip hop station where I'm at, and it was
- 34:56Speaker 1: just one of the most gorgeous full circle moments. You know,
- 34:59Speaker 1: the last time I was on the radio, I was
- 35:00Speaker 1: probably throwing to a song and you know, talking about
- 35:04Speaker 1: whatever the latest was. And this time I got to
- 35:07Speaker 1: hear my tool and my gift and my voice but
- 35:11Speaker 1: used towards something that I was really really really passionate about,
- 35:14Speaker 1: which is healing and meditation. And so to be able
- 35:17Speaker 1: to do it in that way, to be able to
- 35:19Speaker 1: do that with the company that I worked with, and
- 35:22Speaker 1: to be able to do that with one of my
- 35:23Speaker 1: closest friends, it was just such a gift, like such
- 35:26Speaker 1: a joy, and I felt so grateful for it. So
- 35:29Speaker 1: that for me was really um God's beautiful confirmation of
- 35:33Speaker 1: you are in your purpose, girl, You are in your purpose.
- 35:37Speaker 1: So if you want to see that moment, to have
- 35:39Speaker 1: it on my Instagram page, on my um I G
- 35:41Speaker 1: t V. So I love that. Right before we get
- 35:44Speaker 1: out of here, I want to lead everyone on a
- 35:46Speaker 1: little meditation. And this is a meditation that I first
- 35:50Speaker 1: learned maybe ten years ago, eight or ten years ago,
- 35:54Speaker 1: and it was really powerful for me because it it
- 35:58Speaker 1: showed me the space within myself that there is always worth,
- 36:04Speaker 1: regardless of the roles that I play in other people's
- 36:06Speaker 1: lives and regardless of who I am to people or
- 36:11Speaker 1: what I get paid to do. And so I want
- 36:14Speaker 1: to lean into that right now in this moment. So
- 36:18Speaker 1: take a second wherever you are listening to this podcast,
- 36:20Speaker 1: um not while you're driving the police, and find somewhere
- 36:24Speaker 1: comfortable to sit. I want you to maybe get a blanket.
- 36:29Speaker 1: If that feels good, get a notebook. If that feels good,
- 36:31Speaker 1: something might can come up. You want to write it
- 36:33Speaker 1: down and go get comfortable. I'll wait just a second.
- 36:41Speaker 1: And if that comfort feels like you sitting in a chair,
- 36:44Speaker 1: you're sitting on the ground with your legs crossed, you
- 36:47Speaker 1: laying down. All of the above are enough for this moment.
- 36:58Speaker 1: All right, Now that you're nice and humpy, I want
- 37:01Speaker 1: to invite you to go ahead and gently close your eyes,
- 37:08Speaker 1: and then go ahead and just just kind of notice
- 37:12Speaker 1: your body. So do you need to crack your neck,
- 37:22Speaker 1: release your tongue from the roof of your mouth, let
- 37:32Speaker 1: your shoulders drop, hands on tops of thighs or to
- 37:47Speaker 1: your side with the palms up in a state of receiving,
- 37:55Speaker 1: kind of wiggle your hips a little bit. Just loosen
- 38:01Speaker 1: and just do a gentle scan through your body. So
- 38:03Speaker 1: continue down your legs and your knees, go to the
- 38:13Speaker 1: tips of your toes and anywhere on your body that
- 38:23Speaker 1: needs it. Just send up some love, some nourishment. Let
- 38:30Speaker 1: it melt a little bit. Just let it melt. Mm hmm. Okay,
- 38:40Speaker 1: now I still gently close. We're gonna take in three
- 38:44Speaker 1: breaths together. So the way that we're going to do
- 38:47Speaker 1: this is I when we get started, we're gonna do
- 38:50Speaker 1: an inhale through our noses and really powerfully imagine our
- 38:56Speaker 1: beautiful lungs filling like balloons with that nerves, wishing air
- 39:00Speaker 1: and creating some space, really expanding our hearts in our chests.
- 39:09Speaker 1: And then we're gonna hold that breath at the top.
- 39:14Speaker 1: We'll hold it inside for about somewhere in between five
- 39:18Speaker 1: and ten seconds, just holding it in, and then we'll
- 39:21Speaker 1: release through our mouths with the size. It'll sound kind
- 39:25Speaker 1: of like this, and really imagine all the air leaving
- 39:33Speaker 1: your body, really pushing it out, and anything that doesn't
- 39:37Speaker 1: serve you any blockages to your own love, to your
- 39:39Speaker 1: own healing, we're gonna push right out. Let's go ahead
- 39:42Speaker 1: and get started. We're gonna do this three times together
- 39:45Speaker 1: when you are ready, taking nice, big, big, big inhale
- 39:50Speaker 1: in through your nose and then hold it at the top,
- 40:00Speaker 1: oh and release. We're gonna do that two more times.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and take a big and heal through
- 40:23Speaker 1: our noses. And now we'll go ahead and do that
- 40:47Speaker 1: one more time together. In heal through your nose. Yeah,
- 41:08Speaker 1: I still gently closed body is still really relaxed and comfortable.
- 41:12Speaker 1: And go ahead and return to whatever breathing style feels
- 41:17Speaker 1: really natural, really nourishing for you. Maybe that's gentle in
- 41:22Speaker 1: and out through your nose, whatever feels good. Just returned
- 41:26Speaker 1: to that breath. And now we're going to go on
- 41:31Speaker 1: a little journey together. And this is really going to
- 41:34Speaker 1: be rooted around the roles that we play. So typically
- 41:38Speaker 1: when someone may ask who are you, and when you
- 41:55Speaker 1: may ask to yourself who am I? That usually gets
- 42:01Speaker 1: filled with your name, with the roles that you play
- 42:06Speaker 1: for other people, and with your job title. So if
- 42:10Speaker 1: I were to ask myself that question, you know who
- 42:13Speaker 1: am I? By that standard, I would say my name
- 42:17Speaker 1: is Debbie Brown. I'm a mom, I am a well
- 42:23Speaker 1: being educator. So I want you to come up with
- 42:27Speaker 1: how you fill those categories. Who are you? I just
- 42:31Speaker 1: think it silently to yourself. I still closed, body is
- 42:35Speaker 1: still calm and relaxed. Who are you? Yeah, now that
- 43:03Speaker 1: you've got it, I want you to go ahead, when
- 43:07Speaker 1: I asked that prompt, to repeat those things to yourself.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Your name, the role that you play in your household
- 43:15Speaker 1: or your familial life, and maybe your job title. Or
- 43:19Speaker 1: the skill set you identify with most. So ask yourself
- 43:25Speaker 1: that question, now, who am I? Who am I? Who
- 43:35Speaker 1: am I? M hm m. And now I want you
- 44:16Speaker 1: to imagine you don't have that job title. You know,
- 44:22Speaker 1: life happens um for whatever reasons, you are disconnected from
- 44:28Speaker 1: that place of employment, from that work, from whatever that
- 44:33Speaker 1: title is, and whatever status that gave you or didn't,
- 44:36Speaker 1: you are disconnected from it. So now when we ask
- 44:40Speaker 1: ourselves that powerful question silently, we'll just be responding to
- 44:46Speaker 1: ourselves with our name and the role that we play
- 44:49Speaker 1: in our family. Who am I? Who am I? Okay,
- 45:54Speaker 1: now let's imagine that we are not currently playing that
- 45:59Speaker 1: role in our family for whatever reason. No need to overthink.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Maybe the children have left the nest, or maybe you're
- 46:09Speaker 1: not a caregiver to that parent. Maybe that relationship ended
- 46:14Speaker 1: or changed, and so you're not carrying that rule of
- 46:19Speaker 1: the way you show up for others either. Now you're
- 46:23Speaker 1: just left with your name, says we ask ourselves that
- 46:27Speaker 1: question silently again, go ahead and answer with your name,
- 46:31Speaker 1: no role, no job title. Who am I? Who am I?
- 47:08Speaker 1: And now let's imagine that we have no name, write
- 47:16Speaker 1: our name? Really, the thing we had no choice in
- 47:19Speaker 1: we came to Earth before our personalities were even known.
- 47:22Speaker 1: It was handed to us. So imagine we no longer
- 47:27Speaker 1: have even whatever perception comes along with our name. When
- 47:31Speaker 1: we say it, you know, no correct or in correct pronunciations,
- 47:38Speaker 1: no connectedness to whatever story was behind it when your
- 47:42Speaker 1: parents came up with it, no connectedness to the way
- 47:48Speaker 1: someone said it or didn't, or any nicknames that were derived.
- 47:56Speaker 1: So now let's experience that question that we silently ask
- 47:59Speaker 1: our selves without the job, without the role, and without
- 48:06Speaker 1: the name, and let's not try to fill it with
- 48:09Speaker 1: an answer. Let's see what comes up. Who am I?
- 48:17Speaker 1: Who am I? Who am I? M hm h M.
- 49:29Speaker 1: And Alice introduced a couple more questions, and we are
- 49:36Speaker 1: not looking to fill these questions and these prompts with
- 49:39Speaker 1: any answers. We're asking them and we will allow the
- 49:44Speaker 1: space for us to be informed and hold space for
- 49:48Speaker 1: what those answers are. What do I really want? What
- 49:59Speaker 1: do I really want? What is my heart's deepest desire?
- 51:08Speaker 1: What is my purpose? What is my dorma? How can
- 52:04Speaker 1: I serve? How can I serve? Yeah, and now let's
- 53:21Speaker 1: gently come back into our bodies and whenever it feels comfortable,
- 53:33Speaker 1: go ahead and gently let your eyes flutter open. Mm hmm,
- 53:42Speaker 1: how did that feel? The thing I love so much
- 53:48Speaker 1: about that meditation is it's such a gorgeous reminder that
- 53:53Speaker 1: we exist and are worthy, regardless of our job, of
- 54:03Speaker 1: the way we show for other people, regardless of our
- 54:07Speaker 1: own identity and ego, We're still here. We still exist,
- 54:12Speaker 1: we are still taking up space and have worth. And
- 54:16Speaker 1: you know what you glimpse in that space of not
- 54:18Speaker 1: really being able to come up with the answer. You know,
- 54:21Speaker 1: when we strip ourselves away of all the quantifiables that
- 54:24Speaker 1: we think make us us, you're able to experience that
- 54:29Speaker 1: peace we look for in meditation, that gap, the space
- 54:33Speaker 1: of pure potentiality between one thought and the next, where
- 54:38Speaker 1: anything is possible and anything could be made manifest, and
- 54:43Speaker 1: that is available to us all the time. So please
- 54:48Speaker 1: feel free to listen back to that meditation, to just
- 54:52Speaker 1: play that part, maybe before you go to bed, see
- 54:54Speaker 1: what comes up in your dreams, maybe as a way
- 54:57Speaker 1: to start your day and create the spaciousness, allow the
- 55:02Speaker 1: space for the answers to come in. You don't have
- 55:05Speaker 1: to control all the outcomes. You are not an expert
- 55:11Speaker 1: on life. You're not even an expert yet on yourself.
- 55:15Speaker 1: None of us are. We are in pursuit of mastery
- 55:18Speaker 1: that we have to leave room for the Universe's voice.
- 55:24Speaker 1: We have to leave room for God's voice. So create
- 55:28Speaker 1: that space. And also, if you would like more meditations
