- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey, discos, need a little more Disgraceland in your life,
- 0:05Speaker 1: just to touch to get you through. Yeah, me too.
- 0:08Speaker 1: This is the podcast that comes after the podcast. Welcome
- 0:12Speaker 1: to Disgraceland, the after Party. Welcome to the Disgraceland bonus episode,
- 0:31Speaker 1: a little thing we like to call the after party.
- 0:33Speaker 1: This is the show after the show, the party after
- 0:36Speaker 1: the party, the bridge to get you from one full
- 0:38Speaker 1: episode of Disgraceland to the other, the backyard to dig
- 0:41Speaker 1: into the dirt. On this bonus episode, we are talking
- 0:45Speaker 1: about this week's subject to the Disgraceland full episode, Matthew Perry,
- 0:49Speaker 1: the greatest television shows in history, a wild.
- 0:53Speaker 2: And disgraceful indictment.
- 0:55Speaker 1: And of course we are diving into your voicemails, texts
- 0:58Speaker 1: and more, and as always, whole lot of rosie. All right,
- 1:01Speaker 1: this goes, let's get into it. They said the musician
- 1:17Speaker 1: was one of the most successful of not only his generation,
- 1:20Speaker 1: but of any generation. And they said the heights he'd
- 1:23Speaker 1: reached would never be reached by other musicians who came
- 1:26Speaker 1: from his background. And they said the style he pioneered
- 1:30Speaker 1: was made iconic because of him. They said he lifted
- 1:33Speaker 1: up other artists. They said he was charitable, politically active.
- 1:38Speaker 1: They said a lot about this musician. They also said
- 1:41Speaker 1: he was a rapist, a kidnapper, an arsonist, an extortionist.
- 1:47Speaker 1: It was almost like they were trying to say he
- 1:49Speaker 1: was a racketeer, a gangster on par with the Gaudis
- 1:52Speaker 1: and the Capones, or at least the Epstein's and the Weinstein's.
- 1:56Speaker 1: And they said he was the leader of a criminal enterprise.
- 2:00Speaker 1: And they said all of this two days ago on
- 2:02Speaker 1: September seventeenth, about Sean Diddy Combs. They, of course are
- 2:08Speaker 1: the FEDS, and Shawn Combs is, of course fucked. On
- 2:12Speaker 1: Monday night, September sixteenth, Combs settled into his five star
- 2:16Speaker 1: hotel on the upper west Side, the Park Hyatt Hotel,
- 2:19Speaker 1: no doubt in enjoying his beautiful view of Central Park
- 2:22Speaker 1: among the many other luxury amenities that the five star
- 2:25Speaker 1: hotel offers, where, depending on your mood, you can relax
- 2:28Speaker 1: in their indoor pool, or enjoy quote unmatched culinary excellence
- 2:32Speaker 1: un quote at the hotel's fifty seventh Street restaurant, or
- 2:35Speaker 1: you can just unwind in your luxury suite, sporting heated
- 2:39Speaker 1: natural stone flooring and custom furnishings by Yaboo, Puschelberg, whoever
- 2:45Speaker 1: the hell that is. So you know, we can imagine
- 2:48Speaker 1: that on Monday night, that's what Sean Combs was doing.
- 2:51Speaker 1: He was in New York, waiting it out, as his
- 2:53Speaker 1: lawyer put it, getting ready to surrender himself to authorities.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Once the indictment came down. Comb's travels to New York
- 3:01Speaker 1: because he knows he's going to get indicted. Okay, he
- 3:03Speaker 1: knows it's coming. And by going to New York and
- 3:06Speaker 1: not making the Feds come to him in Florida or wherever.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Apparently this is supposed to curry favor with the prosecutors,
- 3:14Speaker 1: with the judge, with whoever. But something very very bad happened.
- 3:19Speaker 1: The Feds didn't give a shit. Okay. Combs is at
- 3:22Speaker 1: his luxury hotel Chillin Monday night, eight o'clock, little after eight.
- 3:28Speaker 1: He has to suffer the humiliation of an arrest. The
- 3:31Speaker 1: Feds come and they get him, and he spends the
- 3:34Speaker 1: night in the husco and in the morning he appears
- 3:36Speaker 1: before the judge or the next day. He's in his sweatpants,
- 3:39Speaker 1: he's in his T shirt. I guess the same stuff
- 3:41Speaker 1: he was wearing at the hotel when they came and
- 3:43Speaker 1: they got him. So the indictment gets unsealed, and you know,
- 3:48Speaker 1: nobody really in the courtroom was shocked. Everyone knew this
- 3:50Speaker 1: was coming. The judge, on the other hand, seemed a
- 3:54Speaker 1: little shocked from what I've read, Okay, she took a
- 3:57Speaker 1: very hard view of Sean Combs's call cooperation to this
- 4:02Speaker 1: point up against the horrific crimes that he was accused
- 4:04Speaker 1: of in the indictment. If you haven't read the indictment,
- 4:07Speaker 1: I'm gonna explain the more incredible parts of it here.
- 4:12Speaker 1: This is worth getting into. It's worth looking up. Okay.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It's written in a wild way. The indictment claims Comb's
- 4:20Speaker 1: forced female guests of his legendary parties named by him
- 4:24Speaker 1: we can only presume to be freakofs, which if you've
- 4:28Speaker 1: been on TikTok in the last eight months, you've heard
- 4:30Speaker 1: of these, these freak offs where Comb's again alleged in
- 4:34Speaker 1: the indictment, to force female guests to have sex with
- 4:37Speaker 1: male prostitutes at these parties, these parties last days. They
- 4:41Speaker 1: were allegedly fueled by copious amounts of illegal drugs and
- 4:45Speaker 1: greased quite literally by quote one thousand bottles of baby oil.
- 4:49Speaker 1: That's a lot of fucking baby oil, all right. It's
- 4:52Speaker 1: further alleged in this indictment that Comb's masturbated while this
- 4:56Speaker 1: is all going on, and he participated in forced sex
- 4:59Speaker 1: acts these parties, and that he of course videotaped these events.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I apologize he might be able to hear my dog
- 5:06Speaker 1: in the background there, nuzzling up against my feet. So
- 5:11Speaker 1: we can gather from the indictment that the videos that
- 5:14Speaker 1: Sean Combs made of these parties, the videos that he
- 5:18Speaker 1: kept of his guests having sex with prostitutes, were used
- 5:23Speaker 1: as a way of controlling his guests or his victims,
- 5:27Speaker 1: depending on how you want to categorize him. Top line,
- 5:30Speaker 1: the indictment accuses Combs of running a criminal enterprise, of
- 5:34Speaker 1: violating the Man Act, which is what they got Chuck
- 5:36Speaker 1: Berry on back in the day. It's essentially human trafficking.
- 5:39Speaker 1: But the devil for Sean Combs, who might be the
- 5:42Speaker 1: devil himself, the devil is in the details here. This
- 5:45Speaker 1: indictment is incredibly specific, and that means a couple different things.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I'm no legal scholar, I'm not pretending to be one.
- 5:54Speaker 1: My information comes from information that smarter people than me
- 5:57Speaker 1: put out there, and I sort of aggregated and I
- 6:00Speaker 1: give it to you, guys. And one of the things
- 6:01Speaker 1: I've learned in the last twenty four to forty eight
- 6:03Speaker 1: hours about this indictment is that the federal government when
- 6:06Speaker 1: they bring some when they're about to bring somebody to trial,
- 6:08Speaker 1: they don't risk losing. Okay, if they think they're going
- 6:11Speaker 1: to lose a case, they'll take another route. They won't
- 6:14Speaker 1: go through the humiliation and the cost actually first, the
- 6:19Speaker 1: cost of mounting a case like this against a billionaire
- 6:22Speaker 1: who has all the resources on the planet. They won't
- 6:25Speaker 1: risk that and then risk getting humiliated by losing. So,
- 6:29Speaker 1: in other words, they're only going to bring somebody to
- 6:31Speaker 1: trial like this if they really got them. And you
- 6:34Speaker 1: can tell back to the specificity of the indictment. You
- 6:37Speaker 1: can tell from the indictment that they really got them,
- 6:40Speaker 1: because the specifics are crazy. The other thing that the
- 6:44Speaker 1: specificity of the document does is I'm going to read
- 6:48Speaker 1: you this quote and then I'm going to tell you
- 6:50Speaker 1: what I think it means. Okay, So the indictment claims
- 6:53Speaker 1: that quote members and associates of the Comb's enterprise, including
- 6:57Speaker 1: high ranking supervisors, security staff, household staff, personal assistants, and
- 7:02Speaker 1: other Combs business employees facilitated the freakoffs by, among other things,
- 7:08Speaker 1: booking hotel rooms for the freakoffs, stalking the hotel rooms
- 7:12Speaker 1: in advance with the required freakoff supplies, including controlled substances,
- 7:18Speaker 1: baby oil, lubricant, extra linens, and lighting. You got to
- 7:22Speaker 1: have good lighting, guys, I mean, come on, lighting is
- 7:24Speaker 1: so important. I mean, I've never been to a freakoff,
- 7:26Speaker 1: but you know, lighting matters.
- 7:27Speaker 3: I know this.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Anyways, that's the quote, not the stuff about the lighting.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I mean, the lighting is in the quote, but not
- 7:31Speaker 1: the shit I added there about the lighting at the end.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And what that quote means is that the FEDS are
- 7:37Speaker 1: signaling that they are aware of the involvement of other
- 7:41Speaker 1: culpable individuals. Okay, and these from how from how they
- 7:47Speaker 1: described these individuals, these seem to me to be working
- 7:50Speaker 1: class individuals, Okay, labor staff, not management, except maybe some
- 7:56Speaker 1: what do they say here Comb's business employees? I read
- 8:00Speaker 1: that as people who worked for him for his record label.
- 8:04Speaker 1: In any event, again, they're signaling the FEDS are signaling
- 8:08Speaker 1: that they are aware of the involvement of other couple
- 8:10Speaker 1: individualism will be posing very important question to them, and
- 8:13Speaker 1: that question will be do you want to be a
- 8:15Speaker 1: defendant in this trial or do you want to be
- 8:17Speaker 1: a witness. Okay, Now, I don't want to pretend that
- 8:19Speaker 1: I got to that question on my own, because again
- 8:21Speaker 1: I'm not a legal scholar. That's not my insight. I
- 8:24Speaker 1: heard a prosecuting attorney on a cable news show give
- 8:26Speaker 1: that take, and but I went in and I read
- 8:29Speaker 1: the actual indictment. I read the document and because that
- 8:33Speaker 1: take was like, wow, okay, shit, the Feds are really
- 8:36Speaker 1: going forward here, and there's and and this is how
- 8:39Speaker 1: lawyers talk to each other on paper a lot of times,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and the charges on paper here they're just astounding. Multiple
- 8:49Speaker 1: acts of violence, including choking people, kidnapping, even arson, and
- 8:55Speaker 1: the Arson part I didn't I didn't get too far
- 8:58Speaker 1: with that. I can't help but think that the ars
- 9:01Speaker 1: in charge is in relation to the Kid Cutty allegation,
- 9:03Speaker 1: where it's been intimated the Diddy blew up Cutty's car
- 9:06Speaker 1: over Ditty's jealousy of Cutty surrounding his girlfriend at the time,
- 9:10Speaker 1: Cassie Ventura. Like most people, I learned about the cutting
- 9:14Speaker 1: thing on TikTok. After the Diddy news broke yesterday, I
- 9:17Speaker 1: spent a good portion of the afternoon girding myself to
- 9:20Speaker 1: log onto TikTok. Diddy TikTok is a wormhole that it
- 9:23Speaker 1: is hard to crawl out of. I've been in deep
- 9:25Speaker 1: and it's gross. And let me just tell you, it
- 9:28Speaker 1: takes a while for the baby oil to fully wash off.
- 9:31Speaker 1: There's all these rumors, all this conjecture. There are deep fakes.
- 9:36Speaker 1: There's some video evidence that is actually pretty compelling from
- 9:39Speaker 1: these parties. I'm not going to go on record by
- 9:43Speaker 1: saying that I believe in some of this stuff. It's wild, okay,
- 9:48Speaker 1: And the conspiracy theories are bananas and they go in
- 9:52Speaker 1: a gazillion different directions. The conjecture is beyond crazy. That said,
- 10:00Speaker 1: every step of this story since I've been following it,
- 10:02Speaker 1: since I think we're talking back at the end of
- 10:06Speaker 1: two thousand and twenty three, is when the Cassie Ventura
- 10:12Speaker 1: lawsuit news broke, and then the settlement happened, and then
- 10:18Speaker 1: there was the raid, and then there was the Cassie tape. Okay,
- 10:22Speaker 1: so there's been a lot of inflection points so far
- 10:24Speaker 1: in what hasn't even been a full calendar year around
- 10:28Speaker 1: this story. And since since it's been out there, I've
- 10:31Speaker 1: been following it like a lot of you have, and
- 10:34Speaker 1: a lot of the details, a lot of the conspiracy,
- 10:36Speaker 1: a lot of the news, a lot of the conjecture,
- 10:38Speaker 1: a lot of it is truly astounding. That said it,
- 10:41Speaker 1: every step of this story, every time there seems to
- 10:44Speaker 1: be new news that comes out, there are facts. There
- 10:47Speaker 1: are nuggets that are validated in certain ways that they
- 10:51Speaker 1: were not before. And before I give you the value
- 10:55Speaker 1: of that, the sort of mind fuck of it is
- 10:57Speaker 1: that you know it kind of makes you go back
- 10:59Speaker 1: and go, ah, well if this, if this is true,
- 11:01Speaker 1: we know this is to be true. Now, then who's
- 11:04Speaker 1: to say that that bat shit crazy thing that this
- 11:07Speaker 1: is related to that I that I read about in
- 11:09Speaker 1: the deep dark corner of the Internet isn't true? You know.
- 11:13Speaker 1: So I'm not saying some of those stories are are valid,
- 11:16Speaker 1: But what I am saying is we're gonna find out.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And I wasn't so sure of that before a couple
- 11:22Speaker 1: of days ago, before that this indictment came down, I
- 11:25Speaker 1: thought that Didty might have been working on some sort
- 11:26Speaker 1: of deal something to get himself out of trouble. But
- 11:30Speaker 1: it doesn't look like that's going to happen. And I
- 11:33Speaker 1: think the breaking point might have been that that horrific
- 11:36Speaker 1: video of Ditty beating Cassie that came out a couple
- 11:39Speaker 1: months ago. And you know, the judge in court yesterday
- 11:44Speaker 1: cited that video when denying Sean Combe's bail okay, making
- 11:48Speaker 1: the case that that Combs is not to be trusted.
- 11:51Speaker 1: The judge straight up said, you know, you said you
- 11:54Speaker 1: didn't beat her, and the video clearly proves that you did.
- 11:56Speaker 1: So you're a liar. So why should we trust you
- 11:59Speaker 1: not to be a flight rist? So no, no bail
- 12:01Speaker 1: for you. So Seawn Combs is off to Brooklyn's Metropolitan
- 12:05Speaker 1: Detention Center, twelve hundred hardened criminals jammed into what is
- 12:10Speaker 1: described to be a deteriorating facility, a real jail okay,
- 12:15Speaker 1: where Seawan Combs is no longer Seawn Combs. He's no
- 12:18Speaker 1: longer Puff Puff Daddy Diddy, Brother Love, he's no longer
- 12:23Speaker 1: the iconic hip hop mogul. He's just prisoner number three
- 12:27Speaker 1: seven four five two dash zero six four, and he's
- 12:30Speaker 1: being held in a jail known for its violent murders
- 12:34Speaker 1: and frequent suicides. This jail is overcrowded, This jail is understaffed.
- 12:39Speaker 1: This jail is known by prison officials to be a
- 12:42Speaker 1: quote unquote hell on Earth. This is where Combs will
- 12:47Speaker 1: remain until and throughout his trial unless I think he's
- 12:53Speaker 1: appealing the no bail, But you know, I don't have
- 12:56Speaker 1: much faith that that's that he's gonna win on that.
- 13:00Speaker 1: So okay, obviously he's in jail now, but there's a
- 13:03Speaker 1: trial coming and obviously this isn't the end of the story.
- 13:06Speaker 1: We're gonna hear so much more about this story as
- 13:11Speaker 1: the case unfolds. Goes without saying in any case, but
- 13:15Speaker 1: I'm telling you, if you haven't been paying attention to
- 13:18Speaker 1: this story, the details are beyond wild. And some of them,
- 13:24Speaker 1: some of them you know, every now and then you
- 13:25Speaker 1: run into a story and you're like, that is so crazy.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Nobody could make that up. And there's a lot of
- 13:29Speaker 1: that going on here, and we're gonna find out. We're
- 13:32Speaker 1: gonna find out and up and until Yes, a couple
- 13:35Speaker 1: of days ago, I didn't think we were okay, crazy,
- 13:38Speaker 1: uh just crazy. You know, there's there's no there's no
- 13:41Speaker 1: I don't see a way for Diddy to get out
- 13:44Speaker 1: of this. There's no bigger fish for him to trade
- 13:46Speaker 1: up to reach some bargain. But you know, I guess
- 13:50Speaker 1: Devil's advocate on the other side. I can't imagine the
- 13:53Speaker 1: federal government. I can't imagine the Feds allowing what we
- 13:56Speaker 1: already know about these incredibly sort of details to go public,
- 14:00Speaker 1: not just about Diddy, but about the numerous boldface guests
- 14:03Speaker 1: who attended his parties. Will Smith, Jamie Fox, Justin Bieber,
- 14:07Speaker 1: Kim Kardashian, and I'm just giving you the ones that
- 14:10Speaker 1: are like already out there in the ether. There's a
- 14:12Speaker 1: whole other list of very very powerful people. Okay, we
- 14:16Speaker 1: just want this through this whole thing with Epstein. And
- 14:19Speaker 1: you know, there's so much smoke and so much noise
- 14:24Speaker 1: around the people who were hanging out with Epstein. This
- 14:27Speaker 1: is very similar, but I can tell you from what
- 14:31Speaker 1: I've learned, it seems far more damning. I mean video, right,
- 14:35Speaker 1: But who knows. Who knows? Maybe the super famous are
- 14:39Speaker 1: super clean. Maybe the worst of this story just involves
- 14:43Speaker 1: seless celebrities trying to stay in a billionaire music moguls
- 14:47Speaker 1: orbit and doing whatever that manipulative criminal disgraceful mogul forced
- 14:54Speaker 1: them to do. Either way, We're gonna find out over
- 14:57Speaker 1: the coming months, and I am excited to get into
- 14:59Speaker 1: these details you here in disgraceland. I don't yet know how,
- 15:03Speaker 1: but we're gonna do that for sure. Anyways, that's enough
- 15:07Speaker 1: on Diddy. Next week, next week, get an episode on
- 15:10Speaker 1: Sigourney Weaver coming your way. Okay, I love Sigourney Weaver.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Who doesn't Alien? I mean, come on, an incredible movie.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I just watched Prometheus. I was blown away, another otherworldly
- 15:19Speaker 1: film by Ridley Scott set in space. So as you're
- 15:22Speaker 1: listening to the Sigourney Weaver episode, be thinking about you know,
- 15:25Speaker 1: obviously alien. We've all seen Alien, I think, but you know,
- 15:29Speaker 1: the whole UFO alien upology thing is new to me.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I've talked to some of you guys about it. It's
- 15:35Speaker 1: a new obsession of mine. I've been reading a lot
- 15:36Speaker 1: about it. I haven't been watching a lot of movies.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I watched Prometheus a couple of weeks ago. I loved it.
- 15:41Speaker 1: It was fucking great. I know that's sort of in
- 15:44Speaker 1: the Alien world, the Alien franchise, but any other alien,
- 15:48Speaker 1: other other worldly extraterrestrial, don't you me the basics. Don't
- 15:51Speaker 1: give me et don't give me Star Wars. Any other
- 15:53Speaker 1: alien movies that you that you've loved, love to watch
- 15:59Speaker 1: that I should you watch? Send me some res. Okay,
- 16:02Speaker 1: that's that's the question of the week. What are the
- 16:03Speaker 1: best alien movies out there? I want to know? Let
- 16:06Speaker 1: me know. Hit me up six one seven nine oh
- 16:08Speaker 1: sixty six six three eight, leave me a voicemail, send

- 17:26Speaker 1: with the nine to one seven.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Hey, Jake, I just got to tell you that I've
- 17:31Speaker 3: been listening for a long time. I subscribed at one point.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Sorry money's title right now, but I'm listening to the
- 17:39Speaker 3: Matthew Perry episode. And all the time that you took
- 17:45Speaker 3: to explain and really camera home the insane battle that
- 17:52Speaker 3: it is to recover from opioid ejaction, it made me.
- 17:59Speaker 3: It made me cry. The episode I had to stop
- 18:01Speaker 3: halfway through still, when you stop talking about that, that's
- 18:05Speaker 3: when I had to call to let you know.
- 18:07Speaker 1: That it really made me cry.
- 18:09Speaker 3: And because I've been there, and you know, I sueing
- 18:15Speaker 3: Dave Parma, one of those people everything that you're talking about.
- 18:19Speaker 3: You know, these the drugs weren't addictive back then, but
- 18:23Speaker 3: it was an insane, uphill battle and it was one
- 18:27Speaker 3: of the hardest things I've ever done, and I can
- 18:29Speaker 3: gain strength from that moving forward. So one thing I
- 18:34Speaker 3: want to ask you is, what about an Elliot Smith
- 18:38Speaker 3: episode Elliot Smith was murdered. It would be perfect in camera.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Hey man, I appreciate the voicemail. Thank you for calling.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Of course, thank you for listening to. As I kind
- 18:49Speaker 1: of mentioned in the Matthew Perry episode, I thought that
- 18:52Speaker 1: I knew a lot about opiate addiction, but in researching
- 18:55Speaker 1: Matthew really in reading his book, which I highly recommend,
- 18:57Speaker 1: his autobiography, I learned I obviously learned a lot more
- 19:01Speaker 1: as a way of describing his personal relationship with the
- 19:05Speaker 1: drug that, for whatever reason hit me in a different
- 19:08Speaker 1: way than any of the research that I'd done prior
- 19:11Speaker 1: on any of these other subjects. I also watched the
- 19:14Speaker 1: series Dope Sick with Michael Keaton during this time that
- 19:17Speaker 1: I was researching the Matthew Perry episode of Disgrace Land,
- 19:19Speaker 1: which if anyone hasn't seen it, I highly recommend it.
- 19:22Speaker 1: If you don't want to be outraged though, don't watch it,
- 19:26Speaker 1: but yeah, just thanks for your call, thanks for listening.
- 19:29Speaker 1: As for Elliot Smith, I'd love to cover this story,
- 19:31Speaker 1: but it's one of those stories we just can't talk about,
- 19:35Speaker 1: and I can't really say much more than that. All right,
- 19:38Speaker 1: let's check out with the nine to seven eight.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Jake Nate from the nine seven eight he was listening
- 19:44Speaker 3: to Matthew Perry episode. Seinfeld didn't change away people talk?
- 19:48Speaker 3: Really really, I think you might want to revisit that one,
- 19:52Speaker 3: my friend, I have a good one.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Rock rolla first of all, nine seven eight. I can
- 19:56Speaker 1: hear that Massachusetts steeped pisson vinegar in the tone of
- 20:00Speaker 1: your voice, and I gotta say I love it. I'm
- 20:02Speaker 1: here for its Second, how did Seinfeld change the way
- 20:05Speaker 1: people talk? I don't remember people walking around talking like
- 20:09Speaker 1: Jerry or Kramer. Maybe catchphrases, of course, maybe quoting funny lines,
- 20:14Speaker 1: funny quips, but nothing like the Chandler bing thing where
- 20:17Speaker 1: people literally started phrasing things like the character How do
- 20:21Speaker 1: you not know what I'm talking about? Like, I didn't
- 20:24Speaker 1: really do it justice, but that's that's you know, you
- 20:26Speaker 1: see what I'm saying. Anyways, call me back, prove me wrong.
- 20:30Speaker 1: But be nice, okay, even though you're from Massachusetts, be nice,
- 20:33Speaker 1: all right. On last week's Question of the Week, prompted
- 20:36Speaker 1: by Matthew Perry, obviously tell big television star star of Friends.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Last week's question of the week, what is the greatest
- 20:43Speaker 1: television show of all time? We got a lot of
- 20:45Speaker 1: incoming on this one, so first of all, thank you.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Second of all, I'm going to cruise to a bunch
- 20:49Speaker 1: of these quickly and then respond at the end of the
- 20:51Speaker 1: seven to two zero rights Freaks and Geeks six' three
- 20:54Speaker 1: to Oh texan mash because of the emotional range six
- 20:57Speaker 1: four Six Texan simpson Freaksing, Geeks, okay freaking geeks. INCREDIBLE
- 21:04Speaker 1: i don't think there's a bad episode the entire. Series
- 21:06Speaker 1: and how many seasons did they? Do? Two was? It
- 21:08Speaker 1: Two Freaking geeks got, canceled which is incredibly incredible to.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Me love that, show loved it, then love it. NOW
- 21:16Speaker 1: i love what it, spawned the whole Jut appatowle, universe
- 21:19Speaker 1: Seth rogen and you know everyone else who came out
- 21:23Speaker 1: of that show just. Incredible so Freaking geeks big place
- 21:25Speaker 1: in my. Heart, however best television show, EVER i don't think.
- 21:29Speaker 3: So.
- 21:29Speaker 1: MASH i cannot believe how many TEXTS i got from
- 21:32Speaker 1: you guys On mash makes me feel Like i'm missing.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Something i'm obviously too young to have Seen mash when
- 21:39Speaker 1: it was. Out i've seen the. Movie i've course seen
- 21:43Speaker 1: the television, show But i've never really watched. It watched.
- 21:45Speaker 1: It Maybe i'll check it. OUT a lot of texts
- 21:48Speaker 1: On The, Simpsons, Okay i'm not A simpsons. Guy if it's,
- 21:53Speaker 1: On i'll watch an episode here and. There But i've
- 21:55Speaker 1: never been sucked in by. IT i don't know. Why
- 21:57Speaker 1: maybe because it's animated and that's not really my. Thing
- 22:00Speaker 1: but somehow my, kids my ten year old and my
- 22:02Speaker 1: six year, old got Onto The simpsons in the last,
- 22:04Speaker 1: year AND i started to notice their attitudes really changed.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Quickly their attitudes started to. Suck they got really cynical
- 22:13Speaker 1: all of a, sudden AND i don't want them Watch
- 22:16Speaker 1: The simpsons. Anymore The simpsons anymore and things have changed
- 22:19Speaker 1: for the. Better but to, me, guys there's only one answer,
- 22:23Speaker 1: here and the answer Is The. Sopranos sopranos is the
- 22:27Speaker 1: best television show ever in the history of, television and
- 22:32Speaker 1: that's my, opinion and it's a fact Now i'm. KIDDING
- 22:35Speaker 1: i did receive a lot of, DM's a lot of
- 22:38Speaker 1: texts people who agree with me on, this AND i
- 22:42Speaker 1: just coincidentally this week started watching The David chase documentary
- 22:46Speaker 1: ON hbo and the first episode weirdly made me, emotional
- 22:52Speaker 1: WHICH i did not, expect AND i still don't really know.
- 22:55Speaker 1: WHY i think it has something to do with just
- 22:57Speaker 1: how personal the story was To David, chase how much
- 23:00Speaker 1: of his point of view is in that, story and
- 23:04Speaker 1: how huge of a risk he took as a as
- 23:07Speaker 1: a creative, person as a, director as a showrunner to
- 23:11Speaker 1: input into the storytelling very very unconventional ways of making
- 23:17Speaker 1: television to get his point of view. Across AND i
- 23:20Speaker 1: think that's why we all fell in love with. It
- 23:22Speaker 1: if you weren't there at the, time if you're too,
- 23:23Speaker 1: young it's it's perhaps unknowable just how revolutionary that show
- 23:29Speaker 1: was at the time when it came, Out but it
- 23:32Speaker 1: really it was like it was LIKE i don't even,
- 23:35Speaker 1: KNOW i don't know what a good, COMPASS i really
- 23:37Speaker 1: don't it. Was it was it was a real moment in,
- 23:40Speaker 1: culture though where you couldn't escape it and the praise
- 23:43Speaker 1: was nearly. Universal it was, incredible and we were All
- 23:46Speaker 1: it was before, streaming so we were all just you, know,
- 23:48Speaker 1: waiting waiting For. Sunday you, Know sunday was about making
- 23:52Speaker 1: making a big, meal getting ready for The, sopranos sitting,
- 23:55Speaker 1: down and just being super fucking bummed when it was.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Over so so that's my. Answer i've probably watched The
- 24:03Speaker 1: sopranos series in its entirety at least three or four,
- 24:07Speaker 1: times and probably, more, actually If i'm being, honest and
- 24:12Speaker 1: there's other there's a few other television shows that approach
- 24:16Speaker 1: that creatively, approach that rare air that The sopranos, do
- 24:23Speaker 1: or The sopranos. DID i should Say Breaking bad and
- 24:28Speaker 1: Mad men or two that come to mind right off
- 24:30Speaker 1: the top of my, head But Breaking bad and Mad
- 24:32Speaker 1: men came after The, sopranos SO i give the nod
- 24:36Speaker 1: to The sopranos there for coming. First and then of
- 24:39Speaker 1: course There's The, wire which it's almost it's almost Like
- 24:44Speaker 1: sopranos is one and The wire is. ONE a for,
- 24:47Speaker 1: Me i've never seen a television show before or since
- 24:50Speaker 1: Like The, wire which says a lot in a lot
- 24:54Speaker 1: of ways that the that the creative of The sopranos
- 24:57Speaker 1: was revolutionary and a lot of ways that they took.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Chances they did similar things in their own way For The,
- 25:03Speaker 1: wire but The wire never had the cultural impact That sopranos.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Had SO i give it to The sopranos, barely just
- 25:11Speaker 1: just a. Smitch, ANYWAYS i appreciate all the info on,
- 25:15Speaker 1: this the, incoming the, text the, voicemails all of. IT
- 25:18Speaker 1: i love this. Topic we're all huge television, fans obviously
- 25:22Speaker 1: At austinite ON X Rights, disgrace lamb pod favorite show
- 25:27Speaker 1: any of The Real sex episodes pilot through twenty. Three
- 25:30Speaker 1: that is amazingly Specific. Austinite, oh then it goes on to,
- 25:34Speaker 1: say just, kidding that show is so. Disappointing Maybe, Californication
- 25:40Speaker 1: dexter Or rick And morty can't forget Twilight, Zone yes you.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Can't Twilight zone is pretty, revolutionary got admit Fantastic snickerbockers
- 25:48Speaker 1: writes were at text in ON X i should say
- 25:52Speaker 1: yeah mentions ON X Star trek a lot Of Star
- 25:54Speaker 1: trek from you. Guys Star trek is one of those
- 25:56Speaker 1: SHOWS i never got. Into i'm feeling LIKE i got
- 25:58Speaker 1: to give it a, shot lots ON x About Star
- 26:01Speaker 1: trek and lots On. Sopranos damian Pitt conrad, Said, hey to,
- 26:05Speaker 1: me it has to be the three seasons Of Twin.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Peaks the reason is that it's, funny, scary, cheerful, sad, comfortable,
- 26:13Speaker 1: creepy down to, earth, surreal, cute, horrific, compelling, repulsive, satisfying
- 26:16Speaker 1: yet endlessly mysterious and. Unfulfilling it is the work of
- 26:20Speaker 1: a director of peerless technique and talent and also a
- 26:23Speaker 1: hopelessly lost captainleist mess as in the second half of season.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Two it is AND i hate to interrupt the email,
- 26:30Speaker 1: here but that's kind of WHY i can't Put Twin
- 26:33Speaker 1: peaks at the top of the best television show, mountain
- 26:39Speaker 1: because those Non David lynch episodes are just. Awful And Twin,
- 26:44Speaker 1: peaks for all the incredible stuff that it did, do
- 26:47Speaker 1: it never really did capture the culture the way that
- 26:50Speaker 1: The sopranos. Did email goes on to, say And i'll finish.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Here it also became endlessly deeper and more, complex endearing
- 26:56Speaker 1: and harrowing in season. Three what other show gave us so? Much,
- 27:00Speaker 1: WELL i gave you a couple examples, There, damien you'll
- 27:02Speaker 1: have to go, back but uh, YEAH i just wanted
- 27:05Speaker 1: to read that BECAUSE i feel LIKE i got to
- 27:07Speaker 1: Mention Twin peaks because it's just fucking, awesome but not the,
- 27:11Speaker 1: best not the, best not the, Best, okay all, Right
