- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome into Off The Bench. Ooh, you're scary.
- 0:06Speaker 2: We're bringing you the spookiest sports talk in town.
- 0:12Speaker 1: With Jacob Hester and Matt Lynn. Terrifying and terrible.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Live from the haunted Raising Cane's studio.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Here's Jacob Hester and Matt Lynn. Oh, my God. Mm-hmm.
- 1:09Speaker 3: All right welcome back in otb hour number three here
- 1:15Speaker 3: live from the raisin cane studio.
- 1:19Speaker 4: First person that came up with that little piano riff
- 1:21Speaker 4: right there so good like you think they played it
- 1:23Speaker 4: and they're like holy crap that's scary.
- 1:27Speaker 5: They're like i'm cooking.
- 1:28Speaker 4: I'm cooking right now i like is there something wrong
- 1:31Speaker 4: with me was it john tesh Okay, so keep in
- 1:34Speaker 4: mind this is OTB.
- 1:35Speaker 6: We're going to have to fact check. I read that
- 1:37Speaker 6: it was actually John Carpenter that came up with it.
- 1:39Speaker 3: I don't know what you mean we have to fact check.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I don't knock your tone.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Absolutely. That's 100% accurate then.
- 1:45Speaker 7: I think it says that in the credits that he
- 1:48Speaker 7: wrote it. So I think that could be right.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like I heard that. Quick question. Yep,
- 1:53Speaker 4: there you go. It was written and performed, so he
- 1:56Speaker 4: actually did it. Okay. Just a quick question.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 4: This is asking for somebody out there to know.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Who's John Carpenter?
- 2:02Speaker 5: All right, perfect.
- 2:03Speaker 4: He directed and wrote the.
- 2:05Speaker 5: He wrote Halloween.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Okay. Yeah. Also a pianist. Yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Apparently.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Good for him. Multi-talented.
- 2:14Speaker 1: And apparently.
- 2:16Speaker 5: Y'all remember that little kid?
- 2:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:17Speaker 1: All right.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Go ahead.
- 2:23Speaker 6: Matt's still thinking about the fact that he.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Directed and played piano.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Before I move on to something else, get it out
- 2:28Speaker 3: of your brain. Whatever it is you're about to say.
- 2:30Speaker 4: How did he catch up to everybody just walking? Who?
- 2:34Speaker 3: Michael Myers? Because people would fall down.
- 2:36Speaker 4: No, they wouldn't fall down all the time.
- 2:37Speaker 3: A lot of times.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Because he's not a human. He'd just be walking down
- 2:40Speaker 4: the street in the streetlight.
- 2:41Speaker 5: He's not a human.
- 2:41Speaker 4: It's so funny you say that. He's a what?
- 2:43Speaker 5: He teleports. He's not a human.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Is he an alien? Could be.
- 2:46Speaker 5: He's a ghost.
- 2:48Speaker 4: A ghost?
- 2:48Speaker 5: Or a monster.
- 2:49Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 2:50Speaker 4: It's so funny you say that.
- 2:51Speaker 6: I saw a video somebody made right at the beginning
- 2:54Speaker 6: of October, and they're like, Michael Myers when the camera's
- 2:56Speaker 6: not on him and it's like an Olympic sprinter just like,
- 2:59Speaker 6: and then.
- 3:00Speaker 4: It cuts to him and he's walking again. Okay, so
- 3:04Speaker 4: let's try, let's decide what he is.
- 3:05Speaker 3: So, not a human.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Maybe he's a human, I don't know.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Human?
- 3:08Speaker 5: That's not what I got out of him.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Alien?
- 3:10Speaker 4: Demoned?
- 3:11Speaker 6: They have never said he's anything other than human. But
- 3:14Speaker 6: there's obviously something going on, right?
- 3:16Speaker 4: Well, because like.
- 3:17Speaker 5: I mean, like he's supernatural for sure.
- 3:18Speaker 7: Right.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Some sort of supernatural situation going on there. I don't
- 3:22Speaker 4: think they've ever like explicitly. Let us know in the chat.
- 3:24Speaker 7: I think it's probably something like the boogeyman or like.
- 3:27Speaker 5: You know.
- 3:27Speaker 4: So a monster.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 4: He's just a monster. Super natural. Superhuman. Maybe he's like
- 3:33Speaker 4: a superhero.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 3:36Speaker 3: So a villain.
- 3:37Speaker 4: So a super villain.
- 3:38Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Let us know in the chat what you think. What
- 3:40Speaker 4: is Michael Myers? That's what they say. They say he's
- 3:43Speaker 4: the essence of evil. But isn't he like the brother of, wait,
- 3:45Speaker 4: isn't he related to?
- 3:46Speaker 7: He's like the uncle of the kid.
- 3:49Speaker 4: So I think. So he's got some, maybe a demigod.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 5: He's the brother of Jamie Lee Curtis.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Maybe he's just crazy.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Isn't there some like flashbacks of him as a kid?
- 3:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 4: Yeah. So a demigod. It's like Maui. An evil Maui.
- 4:04Speaker 6: I mean, they say in the movie, the essence of evil.
- 4:07Speaker 6: Blackest eyes you'll ever see. I mean, he just, he's
- 4:10Speaker 6: got that thing about him. Can't be killed.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Okay, maybe he's just.
- 4:15Speaker 5: Okay.
- 4:16Speaker 4: He needs to be exercised. Maybe he's just got a
- 4:19Speaker 4: demon inside of him. Maybe he's a human with a
- 4:24Speaker 4: demon inside.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Okay, so I'm doing a little bit of research.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Okay.
- 4:35Speaker 7: And this feels like it's just one of those, like, Okay,
- 4:39Speaker 7: so in Halloween, the curse of Michael Myers. Unsure which
- 4:42Speaker 7: one that one is. But the franchise explores the curse
- 4:47Speaker 7: of Thorne. So the storyline connects Michael's murderous behavior to
- 4:51Speaker 7: an ancient supernatural curse and cult.
- 4:54Speaker 5: So maybe he's just cursed. Yeah, maybe he's just cursed.
- 4:57Speaker 4: So he's kind of like a zombie. Because he can't die, right?
- 5:00Speaker 4: So that means he's probably already, the human part of
- 5:02Speaker 4: Michael Myers is probably already dead.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 4: And it's just his body. It's a curse that just
- 5:08Speaker 4: keeps coming back to life.
- 5:09Speaker 7: John Carpenter described Michael as an almost supernatural force of nature.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Do we think he's teleporting? Yeah. Gotta be, right?
- 5:19Speaker 6: Because that's what you were talking about. How's he moving
- 5:20Speaker 6: so fast while he's walking? An almost supernatural, like, not fully,
- 5:26Speaker 6: but there's something going on there.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Right. Tough to be him, I think. You think so?
- 5:34Speaker 4: Just a misunderstood guy? Yep, it's misunderstood. Has anybody asked
- 5:41Speaker 4: him how he's doing?
- 5:44Speaker 6: In all seriousness, like, if you watch any of those movies,
- 5:48Speaker 6: his sole goal in most of them is to just
- 5:51Speaker 6: take out Jamie Lee Curtis and finish what he's starting.
- 5:54Speaker 6: The rest of the citizens of Haddonfield are literally just
- 5:56Speaker 6: stopping him and getting in his way. Like, I'm not
- 5:59Speaker 6: saying I condone it, but, like, what if they just
- 6:01Speaker 6: came together and were like, you know what?
- 6:02Speaker 4: Why don't we just let him take out Jamie Lee
- 6:04Speaker 4: and he'll just leave us alone? Right. Those two are beefing.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Been beefing for decades.
- 6:17Speaker 5: Classic sibling rivalry.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Classic.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Wow.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Wow.
- 6:24Speaker 4: All right. Let's talk about sports, Jake.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I can talk about whatever y'all want. I was just
- 6:28Speaker 3: putting together.
- 6:29Speaker 4: You weren't contributing at all.
- 6:30Speaker 3: I was putting together some figures for what I had
- 6:33Speaker 3: coming up, and I was about to get into it,
- 6:36Speaker 3: and then I could tell in your brain you still.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Had something that you wanted to get to. You got
- 6:41Speaker 4: nothing to give to this. You know what?
- 6:43Speaker 3: I never.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I never was a big Halloween Michael Myers. I always
- 6:47Speaker 3: went Jason and Freddie.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Like, those were my two.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Everybody's got one.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Right? So I was Jason and Freddie. I wasn't Michael Myers.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I probably, in background fodder, seen bits and pieces for sure.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:59Speaker 3: But I've never sat down and watched a Halloween. I've
- 7:01Speaker 3: never sat.
- 7:01Speaker 4: I don't think I've. Maybe I sat down and watched one, like,
- 7:03Speaker 4: in middle school or high school.
- 7:04Speaker 5: It's my favorite one.
- 7:06Speaker 4: Like, I'll just catch them. It's easier to catch Halloweens
- 7:08Speaker 4: on TV.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Than it is Freddie or Jason, I feel like.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:13Speaker 7: I think Halloween is my favorite more off of nostalgia
- 7:17Speaker 7: than anything because I used to watch it as a
- 7:20Speaker 7: kid all the time.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Your guy was in one of them. Who's your guy?
- 7:25Speaker 4: That has the Mark Davis haircut. You brought him up
- 7:30Speaker 4: in a movie.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Josh Hartnett.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Josh Hartnett. He's in one of them. Isn't he?
- 7:33Speaker 3: H2O. H2O.
- 7:34Speaker 4: There you go. That was one of the more interesting
- 7:38Speaker 4: ones for sure. That might be the one I've seen
- 7:41Speaker 4: besides the originals.
- 7:44Speaker 3: You know, you said my guy, and I'm like, my guy,
- 7:45Speaker 3: because I brought him up.
- 7:46Speaker 4: But you know what?
- 7:46Speaker 3: He did come to an LSU game a couple years ago,
- 7:48Speaker 3: and I kind of showed him around. So maybe it
- 7:50Speaker 3: is my guy.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Not a big deal. Showed him what?
- 7:54Speaker 5: Around.
- 7:55Speaker 7: Around.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Like why he hit the wind bar. Here's the strength
- 8:00Speaker 3: coach where he cusses and claps right here in the
- 8:02Speaker 3: ready room. Here's where he walked through the goal post.
- 8:07Speaker 3: They were filming something down here in Louisiana. I can't
- 8:09Speaker 3: remember what it was.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Anyways. All right, well, what's your vote? What is Michael?
- 8:18Speaker 3: I think he's a zombie.
- 8:20Speaker 4: So he used to be a human? Yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Now a zombie.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Yeah. If you play the game Plants vs. Zombies, he
- 8:29Speaker 4: does move a lot like the zombies.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Real slow, straight line. Yeah.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Doesn't say anything.
- 8:34Speaker 5: No, not a word.
- 8:35Speaker 4: I feel like Michael Myers is kind of easy to
- 8:38Speaker 4: knock over, though.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Right?
- 8:39Speaker 4: Doesn't he fall a lot? He looks a little sturdy.
- 8:42Speaker 4: I feel like they... Yeah, I guess he does. I
- 8:44Speaker 4: feel like sometimes they like slam a door while they're
- 8:47Speaker 4: getting chased by him and like he just falls over. Fair.
- 8:51Speaker 4: So the balance, bone density, I don't know, you gotta
- 8:55Speaker 4: question it.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Uh, Easy in the chat. I watched Adam's Family Values,
- 9:00Speaker 3: the second one yesterday. Forgot how good that movie was.
- 9:02Speaker 3: You know what? Both of them are pretty good.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:04Speaker 6: It's so weird. Victoria had that on last night. I
- 9:07Speaker 6: let her pick the Halloween movie. That's the one she picked.
- 9:09Speaker 6: And I said the same thing. I was like, I
- 9:10Speaker 6: haven't seen this in years.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I let her pick the Halloween movie. I love how
- 9:14Speaker 3: much y'all love Halloween.
- 9:15Speaker 6: She doesn't as much as me. That's why I let
- 9:17Speaker 6: her pick. I was like, look, we're doing this one
- 9:20Speaker 6: way or the other. What I will do is I
- 9:21Speaker 6: will let you pick the flick.
- 9:25Speaker 4: She doesn't. That's why I let her pick. Yeah. Great comment.
- 9:28Speaker 4: I mean, Matt, you know, it's a marriage. It's give
- 9:31Speaker 4: and take.
- 9:32Speaker 6: We're doing Halloween regardless. That's non-negotiable. But you can pick
- 9:36Speaker 6: the movie.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Do we have Razor's costume?
- 9:42Speaker 4: Yeah. Pumpkin. Classic baby one.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Is it a Gillette?
- 9:49Speaker 4: It's not. Pumpkin. Not a whole lot of three.
- 9:54Speaker 6: Month old could fit in.
- 9:57Speaker 4: For the pumpkin was a safe choice. Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Cause you never put time and effort into building your
- 10:02Speaker 3: own Halloween costume.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Maybe we built the made one for razor.
- 10:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Um, we saw the saw costume you had a couple
- 10:14Speaker 3: of years ago.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Dude, that was elite. That was elite. My gosh. Alondra,
- 10:19Speaker 4: somebody brought this good point up in the chat. There's
- 10:22Speaker 4: one more opinion I do want to get about this
- 10:24Speaker 4: Michael Myers situation.
- 10:25Speaker 5: Okay.
- 10:26Speaker 4: I'd like to hear what Kellen Moore thinks about what
- 10:29Speaker 4: Michael Myers is.
- 10:30Speaker 5: Let's see. What does Kellen Moore think?
- 10:32Speaker 4: I think it's fair to say we've got to evaluate that.
- 10:35Speaker 7: I mean, that is fair to say that we do
- 10:37Speaker 7: have to evaluate what Michael Myers is.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Is he human? Yeah. Okay. There you heard it from
- 10:44Speaker 4: their head coach. Dang.
- 10:47Speaker 5: Got to evaluate it. We got to solve it, too?
- 10:50Speaker 4: We just got to really dig in and solve this thing.
- 10:55Speaker 3: God, I hate that one.
- 10:57Speaker 5: That one, like, hurts me every time I hear it.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Oh, solve this thing.
- 11:00Speaker 5: We got to solve this thing.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Which part exactly, though? The whole thing?
- 11:07Speaker 3: The part that is so frustrating is you say that,
- 11:10Speaker 3: but you're not doing anything different.
- 11:13Speaker 4: They're taking the emotions out of it, Jake.
- 11:17Speaker 3: I'm going to– you know how, like, sometimes sports fans
- 11:19Speaker 3: and they go over the top and they'll buy, like,
- 11:21Speaker 3: a plane with a banner behind it and fly it
- 11:24Speaker 3: over an opposing stadium, you know, with a– I'm just
- 11:27Speaker 3: going to make one that says run power encounter and
- 11:33Speaker 3: just fly.
- 11:34Speaker 4: It over on– Run more power. Yep.
- 11:36Speaker 3: No, a power.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Just run a power.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Maybe they haven't run one yet.
- 11:39Speaker 4: That's true.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Try something– actually, maybe try something different. Maybe that's what
- 11:44Speaker 3: the sign says.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Well, I'd like to clip the one there he says–
- 11:47Speaker 4: The part where he says we got to take the
- 11:49Speaker 4: emotion out of it. I think maybe put the emotion
- 11:51Speaker 4: into it.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Right.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Imagine Kellen being like, guys, I'm sorry I'm emotional up here.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Put a little emotion into it. Sorry I'm getting a
- 11:57Speaker 4: little animated. We've had enough of no emotion. Michael Myers
- 12:08Speaker 4: has more emotion.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:11Speaker 4: He's a zombie.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Anger.
- 12:13Speaker 4: He might be a zombie. Demon from outer space, maybe.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 3: All right. Well, that's depressing talking about them some more,
- 12:23Speaker 3: how bad they've been.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Well, it's scary, not depressing.
- 12:26Speaker 3: It's scary as well. It's scary and depressing, actually, at
- 12:28Speaker 3: the same time. It's quite the anomaly. All right. We
- 12:32Speaker 3: are going to talk about something positive when we come back.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Let's talk about the LSU Tigers and the direction that
- 12:37Speaker 3: their football team is going in and not the direction
- 12:40Speaker 3: that the New Orleans Saints are going in.
- 12:42Speaker 4: They're going up.
- 12:43Speaker 3: They are going up, not down, not all the way
- 12:46Speaker 3: past the basement. Like the Saints. And we'll do it
- 12:48Speaker 3: right here on OTV.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Off the bench.

- 14:16Speaker 2: Welcome back to Off the Bench. Wednesday's show is brought
- 14:20Speaker 2: to you by Poncho.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Loving you, darling.
- 14:27Speaker 5: Can't be so cold.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I keep on falling in and out.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Welcome back in OTB. Live from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 14:42Speaker 3: A lot of people over the last couple of days
- 14:49Speaker 3: when they've readjusted their college football playoff rankings have included
- 14:53Speaker 3: the LSU Tigers. Even with LSU having two losses already
- 14:57Speaker 3: on the season and having a gauntlet of a schedule
- 15:00Speaker 3: coming up. Alabama and Texas at home. Tennessee on the
- 15:03Speaker 3: road here in the month of November. And I think
- 15:06Speaker 3: they take a look at how the LSU team has
- 15:09Speaker 3: played in its totality over the last couple of weeks.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Even take a look at their losses, and their losses
- 15:14Speaker 3: have been one score. They've both been on the road,
- 15:16Speaker 3: and so that's why a lot of people right now
- 15:18Speaker 3: have LSU in the back end, 9, 10, 11, 12
- 15:22Speaker 3: in their playoff predictions. Now, it's also you can take
- 15:27Speaker 3: a look at what they've actually done, who they've actually been,
- 15:31Speaker 3: and it can give you a pretty good feeling for
- 15:33Speaker 3: this LSU football team. When you look at The SEC rankings.
- 15:40Speaker 3: When you look at the offensive rankings, LSU right now
- 15:44Speaker 3: is number one in total yards.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Number one.
- 15:49Speaker 3: And they're number one in the SEC in total yards
- 15:52Speaker 3: by 40 yards. They have 510 yards. Georgia, who's number two, 469.9
- 16:01Speaker 3: per game. You look at passing yards, LSU, number one.
- 16:07Speaker 3: with 318 Ole Miss number two at 284.9 20 yards
- 16:14Speaker 3: big difference two first downs actually almost three first downs
- 16:17Speaker 3: with 28 yards but you look at rushing yards well
- 16:21Speaker 3: if they throw it they can't be in the top
- 16:22Speaker 3: five and rushing well actually they are they're in the
- 16:25Speaker 3: top five they come in at number five with 192
- 16:28Speaker 3: yards per game on the ground as well all right
- 16:31Speaker 3: well if they have a good offense well certainly they
- 16:33Speaker 3: don't have a good defense let's go to and this
- 16:36Speaker 3: is within the SEC Points allowed. They're number two behind Georgia.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Georgia 15.9 points per game. LSU 16. Got them. So
- 16:49Speaker 3: literally on their heels. Yards allowed per game. LSU's number
- 16:54Speaker 3: one in the SEC. 258 yards per game. You want
- 16:59Speaker 3: to find number two? You go to Oklahoma and you
- 17:02Speaker 3: go all the way to 273.7 yards per game. Pretty
- 17:04Speaker 3: big difference. What about sacks in the SEC? Second in
- 17:13Speaker 3: the SEC in sacks with 34. Tennessee has 35. LSU
- 17:17Speaker 3: has 34. Those are top in the country, by the way.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Third place, you've got to go all the way to
- 17:23Speaker 3: Florida at 22. So you're 12 sacks away from third place.
- 17:29Speaker 3: I bring all that up to say this is a
- 17:32Speaker 3: very complete football team. This is a football team that's
- 17:35Speaker 3: in the top of everything on offense, and defense in
- 17:40Speaker 3: the SEC. That's why you have a lot of belief
- 17:43Speaker 3: in this football team. And I know they lost on
- 17:46Speaker 3: the road. And I think also getting that out of
- 17:50Speaker 3: the way, going on the road to a team that
- 17:53Speaker 3: just beat the number one team in the country on
- 17:55Speaker 3: the road themselves and dominating the way they did, I
- 17:59Speaker 3: think a lot of people, and I think we even
- 18:00Speaker 3: talked about it on Monday, Alondra brought it up, that
- 18:03Speaker 3: gets something out of the way, a roadblock out of
- 18:05Speaker 3: the way that previously you couldn't get out of the way.
- 18:10Speaker 3: I understand the national narrative now of why they're picking
- 18:13Speaker 3: LSU to find a way to make a run. Now,
- 18:17Speaker 3: what does that run look like? What do you have
- 18:18Speaker 3: to do? Do you have to go undefeated? Can you
- 18:20Speaker 3: have maybe one close loss? Could you?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Maybe?
- 18:23Speaker 3: I don't know. But I don't think this team wants
- 18:26Speaker 3: to find out. I don't think they want to find
- 18:28Speaker 3: out what a 9-3 football team can be in the
- 18:32Speaker 3: college football playoff because you don't know if it's going
- 18:34Speaker 3: to beat in the college football playoff. You know a
- 18:37Speaker 3: 10-2 football team is going to be there. And just
- 18:40Speaker 3: being with the team this last weekend, traveling with the team,
- 18:43Speaker 3: being on the plane with them after the game, it
- 18:45Speaker 3: has a feel of we know our backs are firmly
- 18:48Speaker 3: against the wall, and we cannot afford another hiccup, and
- 18:53Speaker 3: we're going to play like that.
- 18:54Speaker 4: A lot of people after the Ole Miss loss, a
- 19:02Speaker 4: lot of people, especially after Kentucky, how disappointed those games were,
- 19:06Speaker 4: especially Kentucky. say, well, they love to laugh. People love
- 19:12Speaker 4: to hate-watch LSU for a while now. Now I think
- 19:15Speaker 4: they're watching them out of respect because of what they're
- 19:18Speaker 4: doing and kind of the stats that you just brought up.
- 19:20Speaker 4: But the easy thing to say is like, ha, ha, ha,
- 19:23Speaker 4: look what happened. Look at a $ 40 million roster, and
- 19:26Speaker 4: you spent all this money, blah, blah, blah. What has
- 19:28Speaker 4: that gotten you? Well, you just kind of went through it.
- 19:31Speaker 4: It gets you a very well-balanced team, and a very
- 19:34Speaker 4: well-balanced team towards the front end of everything. On top of, like,
- 19:39Speaker 4: your best players or some of your best players, All-American
- 19:42Speaker 4: caliber players getting hurt for the season. or for long stretches.
- 19:48Speaker 4: What does that get you? It gets you a first-year
- 19:51Speaker 4: head coach at a program, bringing in nearly an entirely
- 19:56Speaker 4: new offensive roster, being one of the top offenses in
- 19:59Speaker 4: the country, certainly in the SEC, your defensive staff. defensive players,
- 20:05Speaker 4: bringing in strategic players, really improving the defensive alignment with
- 20:08Speaker 4: the young guys. And you're at the top of almost
- 20:11Speaker 4: every category on that side of the ball. Like, so
- 20:15Speaker 4: that's what it gets you. It gets you a team
- 20:18Speaker 4: that is playing really well in every phase of the game.
- 20:23Speaker 4: And sure, it's still football. It's still 0-0 at the
- 20:26Speaker 4: beginning of every game. You're still playing guys that have,
- 20:29Speaker 4: playing teams that have, you know, high dollar rosters as well.
- 20:33Speaker 4: So you got beat On the road, in tough environments,
- 20:37Speaker 4: by good team performances, but more specifically, individual quarterback performances
- 20:42Speaker 4: that was just playing winning football against you and you
- 20:44Speaker 4: just ran into it that day. I'd like to play
- 20:47Speaker 4: both those teams again.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Yep, I would too.
- 20:49Speaker 4: I'm not saying we'll beat them 10 out of 10 times,
- 20:51Speaker 4: but it ain't going to be 5 out of 10.
- 20:53Speaker 3: No, I don't think so either.
- 20:54Speaker 4: It wouldn't be 5 out of 10. I can tell
- 20:56Speaker 4: you that right now with the way that they're playing.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Now, look. Hey, you keep winning, and with Kentucky's schedule,
- 21:02Speaker 3: you could see Kentucky. That's real. Like it's a real possibility.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Yeah, you could. So I know that it was fun
- 21:11Speaker 4: for people around the country to kind of laugh and say,
- 21:14Speaker 4: what the hell would it get you? You idiots look
- 21:16Speaker 4: at all that money you spent for a loss, blah, blah, blah. Well,
- 21:20Speaker 4: look at the stats, look at the categories and no
- 21:24Speaker 4: one where we just came from.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 4: It was a year ago, buddy, where we were all depressed.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Literally like yesterday, right? A year ago yesterday.
- 21:34Speaker 4: It was when we, yeah, yesterday.
- 21:36Speaker 5: Or no, Monday.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Monday. 25th. Best day of my life. Where you fired
- 21:42Speaker 3: Brian Kelly.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Yep.
- 21:43Speaker 3: And had to hit reset. And then now, you're in
- 21:47Speaker 3: the top five. And you're number one in total yards.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Number one in passing. Fifth in rushing on the offensive side.
- 21:54Speaker 3: On the defensive side in the SEC. You're second in
- 21:56Speaker 3: points allowed. You're first in yards per game allowed. And
- 21:59Speaker 3: you're second in sacks. Mm-hmm. And those... would not be–
- 22:02Speaker 3: we could open it up to the entire country, and
- 22:05Speaker 3: those aren't much worse than what they are within the SEC.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Again, when you lay your head on your pillow tonight,
- 22:14Speaker 4: we're getting close to Halloween, starting the holiday season. We've
- 22:17Speaker 4: got a lot to be thankful for, everybody. But when
- 22:19Speaker 4: you close your eyes, your soft little pillow tonight, before
- 22:24Speaker 4: you go to sleep, say your prayers, of course. Thank
- 22:26Speaker 4: the Lord for all the blessings, all the good things
- 22:28Speaker 4: that he's given us. But also– Just say a little
- 22:31Speaker 4: thank you to Texas A & M, Mike Elko.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Yeah, seriously.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Because we don't like them. But I think deep down,
- 22:37Speaker 4: we kind of love them.
- 22:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:39Speaker 4: For taking over Tiger Stadium last year. It's the best
- 22:40Speaker 4: thing to happen to LSU fans. It was terrible.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:44Speaker 4: It was a kick right in the nuts.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Right.
- 22:47Speaker 4: But it was the best thing that ever happened.
- 22:49Speaker 5: The only way from rock bottom is up.
- 22:51Speaker 4: That's true.
- 22:52Speaker 5: You can't go any further.
- 22:53Speaker 4: That's true.
- 22:53Speaker 5: You hit rock bottom, and hopefully now you up.
- 22:56Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 22:57Speaker 4: That is very true. That's kind of what I was hoping.
- 22:59Speaker 4: I said this earlier, talking about the Saints. That's what
- 23:01Speaker 4: I was hoping the Steelers were going to do. Now
- 23:03Speaker 4: they won. I was really hoping they were going to
- 23:05Speaker 4: give them a square kick to the nuts.
- 23:08Speaker 3: And force change. All right. I know Taylor wants to
- 23:10Speaker 3: have some thoughts on this, but before we do, I
- 23:12Speaker 3: want to remind you about our friends over at Pala.
- 23:13Speaker 3: For more than 53 years, Pala has been trusted by
- 23:17Speaker 3: some of the Gulf Coast's largest chemical and refining companies. Today,
- 23:21Speaker 3: the same experience is helping build a critical infrastructure for
- 23:24Speaker 3: emerging markets like data centers and aerospace. So from civil
- 23:27Speaker 3: and mechanical construction, including foundations, concrete slabs, tank ring walls,
- 23:32Speaker 3: and engineered helical piles to industrial tank and vessel fabrication
- 23:36Speaker 3: and installation, Pala is ready for your next challenge. And
- 23:39Speaker 3: we always tell you, the website Pala Group, P-A-L-A Group.com,
- 23:42Speaker 3: but also employee-owned, relationship-driven, always building together, Pala Group.com, P-A-L-A Group.com. Tay-Tay,
- 23:50Speaker 3: take it away.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Wait, real quick.
- 23:52Speaker 3: You know the meme?
- 23:53Speaker 5: No, you know the meme of the kid?
- 23:55Speaker 7: The kid that's like his veins are popping out and
- 23:57Speaker 7: he's like, that's Tay-Tay.
- 23:59Speaker 5: I felt it.
- 24:00Speaker 3: He kind of looks like him a little bit. Like
- 24:02Speaker 3: a great value version of Tay-Tay.
- 24:03Speaker 4: I got to see the meme. I don't know how to.
- 24:05Speaker 4: It's one of the ones I've probably seen. His face
- 24:07Speaker 4: is all red. You don't look anything like him. You're
- 24:10Speaker 4: much more handsome.
- 24:11Speaker 3: I said a great value version.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Much more handsome. Thank you. I'll check it out though.
- 24:18Speaker 4: I'll see the meme.
- 24:19Speaker 6: No, I asked you guys the other day. is Sam
- 24:22Speaker 6: Levitt the best quarterback in the SEC? Because he's honestly
- 24:25Speaker 6: playing like it. Like, you made me think of this
- 24:27Speaker 6: because you said it's going to take an elite quarterback
- 24:30Speaker 6: performance to beat Blake Baker's defense. And I started thinking
- 24:33Speaker 6: about the QBs you have coming up, like Keelan Russell.
- 24:37Speaker 4: There have certainly been moments. He hasn't been good.
- 24:39Speaker 6: The last three games, even last week against Texas A
- 24:41Speaker 6: & M, the game was tied at halftime. I think he's...
- 24:44Speaker 6: For the duration, for four quarters, he really hasn't been
- 24:46Speaker 6: good all season. No, he's had quarters that have been
- 24:48Speaker 6: really good.
- 24:48Speaker 4: Right.
- 24:49Speaker 6: Even the Mississippi State game, I mean, you're playing a
- 24:51Speaker 6: banged-up Kamario Taylor. They turned the ball over at will
- 24:54Speaker 6: in the first half. Like, he really hadn't been good.
- 24:56Speaker 6: You go look at Texas.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Yeah, they won.
- 24:58Speaker 6: Arch had three turnovers. He's just fortunate that Trinidad Chambliss
- 25:02Speaker 6: also had three turnovers. Like, Tennessee's quarterback play right now
- 25:05Speaker 6: doesn't scare me. So, like, if I ask the question, like,
- 25:09Speaker 6: is LSU the best team in the SEC? Resume-wise, performance-wise
- 25:12Speaker 6: of what we've seen so far, you can't necessarily say that.
- 25:15Speaker 4: But if you're projecting for the future.
- 25:18Speaker 6: They might be, because there's not a quarterback in the
- 25:20Speaker 6: SEC playing better than Sam Leavitt. Like, you could argue
- 25:22Speaker 6: Kenny Minchie. Kenny Minchie has 38 rushing yards on the year.
- 25:26Speaker 6: He's been a great passer, but... He doesn't want to. Right,
- 25:29Speaker 6: and Sam stepped up a little bit last week. Like,
- 25:31Speaker 6: he had 55 yards, I think, on the ground. Like,
- 25:33Speaker 6: that's fine. That's probably the most rushing he's had since
- 25:36Speaker 6: before that hamstring injury. So, I mean, his passing and rushing, like, LSU,
- 25:41Speaker 6: they got the best defense in the conference.
- 25:43Speaker 4: And guys, they might have the best quarterback in the conference, too.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Right now, on pro football.
- 25:47Speaker 4: I'll take him and Kenny Minchie.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Pro Football Focus, in the country, it's Derry Mensah 1,
- 25:53Speaker 3: Gio Lopez from Wake Forest 2, Sam Levitt 3.
- 25:56Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 25:57Speaker 3: As far as graded quarterbacks on Pro Football Focus, Sam
- 25:59Speaker 3: Levitt comes in right now at number 3.
- 26:01Speaker 4: That's what I'm doing all this hoppy stuff, too.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:04Speaker 7: And I think that, like, outside– I mean, definitely before
- 26:07Speaker 7: when he was playing not at this level, in the
- 26:11Speaker 7: fan base, for sure, there were people that were like, oh,
- 26:13Speaker 7: I don't know about Sam.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:15Speaker 7: But I think, like, still, he's getting better, third in
- 26:17Speaker 7: the country, like you just said. And I think people
- 26:20Speaker 7: still think that Sam Levitt's playing the way that he
- 26:22Speaker 7: was playing, like, week two, week one of the season.
- 26:27Speaker 5: But he's not.
- 26:28Speaker 3: No, if you're watching the tape, you don't, yeah.
- 26:30Speaker 5: And you know we watching the tape.
- 26:32Speaker 3: We do.
- 26:33Speaker 6: Well, going back to McElroy, who still hasn't gotten over
- 26:40Speaker 6: the interception that wound up not being a pick.
- 26:43Speaker 4: He's still upset about it. We agree.
- 26:44Speaker 6: It was a bad decision by Sam Leavitt. Do you
- 26:46Speaker 6: know what he did following that interception? The next drive,
- 26:48Speaker 6: he went six for six for a touchdown.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:50Speaker 4: That's what he did the following drive. So, like, even
- 26:52Speaker 4: when he makes mistakes, he kind of been shaking them off.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:56Speaker 4: He said, suck it, McElroy. He did.
- 26:58Speaker 3: I got two words for you.
- 27:05Speaker 4: It's hard to. It's hard to put into– it's hard
- 27:10Speaker 4: for us to see the entirety of the season of
- 27:13Speaker 4: Sam Levitt because of the improvement he's made. You look
- 27:16Speaker 4: back at the first couple of games, and, of course,
- 27:18Speaker 4: had the loss against Ole Miss, disappointed he didn't play
- 27:21Speaker 4: his best. But, like, we noticed that he wasn't playing
- 27:24Speaker 4: his best because we saw flashes of his best, right?
- 27:28Speaker 4: And then you see what he can do, so it makes, like,
- 27:30Speaker 4: the plays he doesn't make disappointing.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 27:34Speaker 4: But you still look at it and you're like, he's
- 27:35Speaker 4: still a good quarterback in those games. But we just
- 27:38Speaker 4: see that there's so much more. But now we're seeing
- 27:41Speaker 4: the good stuff way more consistently. And it's improved every
- 27:45Speaker 4: single week. And I don't know how, like, you know,
- 27:48Speaker 4: we question or whatever. You know, it's a good tool
- 27:50Speaker 4: to use at PFF Grades. I'd like to see how steadily, like,
- 27:53Speaker 4: if they've improved and stuff throughout the, you know, how
- 27:56Speaker 4: steadily they've gone up. Because just from watching it, And
- 27:59Speaker 4: not completely understanding his reads or his assignment every single play,
- 28:04Speaker 4: but having a good feel and understanding for the generality
- 28:08Speaker 4: of each play, of what he's supposed to be doing.
- 28:12Speaker 4: The consistency of making a positive or a winning play
- 28:16Speaker 4: just keeps going up every single game. And so it's
- 28:19Speaker 4: been impressive to watch. And we've been, like, look, we've
- 28:26Speaker 4: seen quarterbacks improve during the season a couple of times
- 28:31Speaker 4: now as LSU fans in the last handful of years,
- 28:33Speaker 4: and it's been wild to see and to think. There
- 28:37Speaker 4: could be a situation where Sam does have another year
- 28:40Speaker 4: here at LSU. We'll see. If he continues down this trajectory.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Maybe not.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Maybe not. He'd have to pull a Trinidad and just
- 28:49Speaker 4: not want to go. But keep doing what you're doing.
- 28:53Speaker 7: Sam is still plus 8,400 in the Heisman odds. So, like,
- 28:57Speaker 7: he's still down there.
- 28:58Speaker 4: That's the first time I've heard his name mentioned.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:02Speaker 5: So he's still down there despite everything. But there's not
- 29:05Speaker 5: a lot of quarterbacks on here.
- 29:06Speaker 7: The quarterback with the highest odds or the best odds
- 29:08Speaker 7: is Darian Mensah at plus 270.
- 29:10Speaker 5: But the leader. No, it's Jeremiah Smith.
- 29:14Speaker 7: Malachi Tony is plus 360. Jeremiah Smith plus 122. And
- 29:17Speaker 7: then the other quarterback is CJ Carr. But he's all
- 29:20Speaker 7: the way at plus 2000. So a big drop off
- 29:23Speaker 7: between Darian Mensah and CJ Carr. And then Trinidad is
- 29:26Speaker 7: still plus 2,400. He's the third best odds quarterback-wise.
- 29:30Speaker 6: Which Jeremiah Smith being your leader in the Heisman odds,
- 29:33Speaker 6: like it makes sense. But what's that offense going to
- 29:35Speaker 6: look like without Julian saying somebody's got to throw.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Him the football?
- 29:38Speaker 5: This is my first time ever hearing the name Jesse Legree.
- 29:42Speaker 4: Oregon State. He's a stud. Yes.
- 29:45Speaker 7: Who?
- 29:45Speaker 4: Jesse Legree is a wide receiver. I'm sorry. Oregon State.
- 29:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 29:48Speaker 4: Oregon State. All right. I'll see you. First time I've
- 29:53Speaker 4: heard Oregon State all season. Well, they got the. Is
- 29:56Speaker 4: he still the nation's leading passer? Is Brayden a.
- 29:59Speaker 3: He's the leading receiver in the nation.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:01Speaker 3: I don't know if they– They're still Pac-12? Yeah. Yeah.
- 30:04Speaker 4: They have state on their name, so they're in the Pac-12.
- 30:08Speaker 4: They're good.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Ushmanzada went there. Ojosinko went there. Long lineage of receivers there, buddy.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Derrick.
- 30:16Speaker 3: It was a quarterback.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Derrick.
- 30:18Speaker 3: It was a quarterback.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Derrick for the Browns. Mm-hmm.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Yep.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Derrick something.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Yep.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Yep. Told you. Not the first letter. Nailed it.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Derrick Anderson.
- 30:28Speaker 4: That's what I said.
- 30:31Speaker 3: The Saints had a receiver, Mike Haas. I believe he
- 30:34Speaker 3: won the Blitnikoff that they drafted back in the day.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Not my house. That's a good one.
- 30:39Speaker 5: Arc is plus $ 40, 000. $ 40, 000?
- 30:41Speaker 4: I'm betting on it now, guys. They beat Ohio State.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Don't throw that money away. All right, we are going
- 30:50Speaker 3: to step away. We'll be right back here. It is
- 30:53Speaker 3: OTB Live from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Off the Bench.
- 30:57Speaker 3: All right, go to TrashRangers.com, residential commercial trash pickup service
- 31:00Speaker 3: here in the greater Baton Rouge area. Also, they've got
- 31:02Speaker 3: roll-off dumpsters for your next project at your home, at
- 31:05Speaker 3: your business. Three different sizes to choose from, to be exact.

- 32:06Speaker 2: Welcome back to Off the Bench. Wednesday's show is brought
- 32:09Speaker 2: to you by Poncho.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Closed off from love I didn't need the pain.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Once or twice was enough and.
- 32:22Speaker 3: It was all in vain time starts to pass before.
- 32:27Speaker 1: You know it you're frozen.
- 32:32Speaker 4: But something happened for the very first time with you
- 32:38Speaker 4: My heart melted to the ground, found something true And
- 32:43Speaker 4: everyone's looking round thinking I'm going crazy Welcome back.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Again.
- 32:53Speaker 3: I'm Jake.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Me, Jake.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Actually, it was more like that. What's up?
- 33:02Speaker 7: What's up?
- 33:05Speaker 3: Oh, God. We were all dumb back then. Because we
- 33:08Speaker 3: were like, yeah, this is good.
- 33:10Speaker 5: This is so funny.
- 33:10Speaker 4: This is the best commercial ever made. I mean, is
- 33:14Speaker 4: it going to get better than late 90s commercials, though?
- 33:18Speaker 4: Early 2000s. Early 2000s hit, too. Super Bowl commercials kind
- 33:21Speaker 4: of are. They're lame. You get a couple that are clever.
- 33:25Speaker 6: There will be one or two a year where I'm like.
- 33:27Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what I was going to say. The ones
- 33:29Speaker 5: that are good, I'm not like, oh, that was funny.
- 33:32Speaker 7: It's more like, oh, I feel like, yeah, why are
- 33:35Speaker 7: you trying to inspire all of us?
- 33:36Speaker 4: Don't inspire me or politicize my commercials. Give me a
- 33:40Speaker 4: bunch of idiots talking to each other on the phone.
- 33:42Speaker 5: Those make me.
- 33:43Speaker 7: so mad the ones that like try to make a
- 33:46Speaker 7: statement i'm like get.
- 33:48Speaker 6: Out of here or you get the yeah matt like
- 33:49Speaker 6: you get the ones that are like watch football supposed
- 33:52Speaker 6: to make you feel good and everything i'm like imagine
- 33:54Speaker 6: sitting there and you're like my team's down 20 to
- 33:56Speaker 6: nothing at halftime yeah hell that commercial was inspiring yeah.
- 33:59Speaker 4: I don't need that we'll say the liberty liberty budweiser
- 34:03Speaker 4: want those are good no I feel like the one.
- 34:06Speaker 5: I hate Liberty.
- 34:07Speaker 4: The good ones. Don't become your parents is good.
- 34:09Speaker 5: I do like the.
- 34:09Speaker 3: Those are good.
- 34:11Speaker 4: Those are good. Those are excellent. The Budweiser one with
- 34:13Speaker 4: the eagle on the horse's back with the wings. That
- 34:15Speaker 4: was pretty good.
- 34:16Speaker 6: I feel like beer commercials always pretty solid. Doritos does
- 34:20Speaker 6: a good job normally. Although I don't know if they
- 34:22Speaker 6: had one this past year. But like those are the two.
- 34:24Speaker 6: You can always count on a good beer commercial and
- 34:27Speaker 6: like a Doritos. Those seem like too steady. The best
- 34:30Speaker 6: commercial I've seen this year.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 34:33Speaker 4: Was the tight ends one where they were like that.
- 34:37Speaker 4: You don't have to get a colonoscopy anymore. So don't
- 34:40Speaker 4: have a tight end anymore. And it was all like,
- 34:43Speaker 4: it was all the tight ends in the NFL were
- 34:44Speaker 4: in the commercial. That was the best commercial I've seen.
- 34:46Speaker 4: I thought it was funny.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:50Speaker 5: I like how now I'll just be trying to watch
- 34:52Speaker 5: like a, I don't know.
- 34:54Speaker 7: Usually I see it on the college football games, like
- 34:57Speaker 7: the Texas ones or whatever. And then it's, they're having
- 35:00Speaker 7: like Senate races right now. So it's just like somebody
- 35:03Speaker 7: being like, don't vote for James Tallarico.
- 35:06Speaker 5: He's a liberal idiot. And I'm just like, wow, this
- 35:10Speaker 5: is so aggressive.
- 35:11Speaker 7: And then the next commercial, it's like, liberty, liberty.
- 35:13Speaker 5: And I'm like, I can't do this. I can't keep
- 35:17Speaker 5: doing this.
- 35:18Speaker 3: That's very true. That's so true.
- 35:20Speaker 4: I think they should outlaw political commercials.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:25Speaker 5: And also, you know what I think they should really outlaw? Like, okay,
- 35:27Speaker 5: the commercials, whatever.
- 35:28Speaker 4: I get it.
- 35:29Speaker 5: What I want them to outlaw is stop texting me.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Oh, me too.
- 35:34Speaker 7: And, like, how did you even get my number? Because
- 35:36Speaker 7: I'm not even, like, part of any sort of anything. Like,
- 35:40Speaker 7: maybe from whenever I vote, they just take my number
- 35:42Speaker 7: from there or whatever, which feels like a violation of
- 35:46Speaker 7: my rights.
- 35:47Speaker 5: But, like, stop texting me.
- 35:49Speaker 7: Yep.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Like I was, I was thinking about voting for you,
- 35:52Speaker 4: but cause you texted me, I'm not voting for you.
- 35:54Speaker 4: Knock on wood. Maybe I'm not registered correctly. And my
- 35:58Speaker 4: votes never counted.
- 35:59Speaker 6: I have never once got a text message.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Not one time. Are you serious? I've been registered.
- 36:04Speaker 5: I got a million since I turned.
- 36:05Speaker 4: 18 and what? 20.
- 36:07Speaker 6: I just like, I guess the 2016 election would have
- 36:09Speaker 6: been my first one to vote in three.
- 36:11Speaker 4: I just pulled up three unread messages from yesterday. Never got,
- 36:15Speaker 4: guess what? I'm not voting for any of those people.
- 36:19Speaker 4: You know what's happening? Some of the political people are
- 36:21Speaker 4: listening and they're like, Taylor's never got a message. It's flooding. Hello.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Good for you. I don't know if it's because I'm
- 36:30Speaker 3: registered as an independent. If they're like, we're going to
- 36:33Speaker 3: get this guy on our side. I don't know if
- 36:35Speaker 3: that's why, but my God.
- 36:37Speaker 4: That might be the worst.
- 36:39Speaker 3: It is bad.
- 36:39Speaker 4: You can get it from both sides.
- 36:41Speaker 3: I do.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Has anybody ever gotten it from both sides? Has a
- 36:45Speaker 4: TV commercial or a Text message? Spam? Has that ever
- 36:50Speaker 4: swayed anybody?
- 36:52Speaker 5: No.
- 36:54Speaker 6: Imagine going to the voting booth and you're like, oh, hell,
- 36:56Speaker 6: what's that? The guy who texted me. I'm going to
- 36:58Speaker 6: vote for him.
- 36:59Speaker 4: It's all so slimy. Get out of here.
- 37:01Speaker 5: Yeah, stop texting me. And then they do it at
- 37:03Speaker 5: like 7 p.m.
- 37:04Speaker 4: Get out of here. And if you're going to make
- 37:05Speaker 4: a commercial, just tell me about your thoughts.
- 37:07Speaker 5: Right, don't like crap on the other guy.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Yeah. Don't tell me the other guy's like a third
- 37:12Speaker 4: nipple or something.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 5: Like the one with the ones that I keep seeing
- 37:16Speaker 5: is like he says he's a Texan.
- 37:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:20Speaker 5: And he's a vegetarian.
- 37:21Speaker 4: How can you trust this guy?
- 37:25Speaker 5: A Texan who doesn't eat meat.
- 37:27Speaker 3: I heard he liked that.
- 37:28Speaker 4: Not my Texas.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Not my Texas.
- 37:32Speaker 4: He didn't even speak American. He didn't speak American. It's
- 37:36Speaker 4: so funny.
- 37:38Speaker 3: So true though.
- 37:39Speaker 5: I don't know why like.
- 37:42Speaker 7: I really don't know why I'm getting targeted by the
- 37:45Speaker 7: like Texas race specifically.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Are you like, did you register there?
- 37:49Speaker 5: No, I'm registering. I go here.
- 37:51Speaker 4: It's good stuff. Wow. Great job.
- 37:57Speaker 3: He's got a third.
- 37:57Speaker 4: I'm sure.
- 37:58Speaker 3: I'm sure.
- 37:58Speaker 4: I'm sure it didn't cost much for all that. No.
- 38:02Speaker 3: A third.
- 38:03Speaker 5: How can you trust a guy with three nipples?
- 38:06Speaker 3: I gotta be honest.
- 38:08Speaker 6: Maybe I should take this more seriously. If I find
- 38:11Speaker 6: out one of the dudes got a third nipple, I'm
- 38:13Speaker 6: voting for that guy.
- 38:14Speaker 5: Taylor wrote Harambe in.
- 38:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it was me. It was me.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Good stuff.
- 38:22Speaker 4: Go vote.
- 38:24Speaker 5: Go vote for real. You should. Local elections, you should.
- 38:29Speaker 3: You should. You for sure should.
- 38:30Speaker 5: But stop texting me.
- 38:33Speaker 4: He kicks cats. Stop. Launder's like, yeah.
- 38:37Speaker 5: I'm voting for him.
- 38:38Speaker 4: That's something I can get behind.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I hate cats.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Launder calls up. She's like, do you need a campaign manager?
- 38:45Speaker 7: I fully believe I could get somebody elected. Like Matt,
- 38:47Speaker 7: if you wanted to run for something, I could get
- 38:49Speaker 7: you elected. I think I'd be a hell of a
- 38:52Speaker 7: campaign manager.
- 38:53Speaker 4: Absolutely. I don't know. I think my opponent would just
- 38:55Speaker 4: show like any random clip from this, from this show.
- 39:00Speaker 3: He can't even say collegiate.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Oh, what?
- 39:02Speaker 5: So now we're discriminating against the illiterate?
- 39:05Speaker 3: Thanks. Wow. Yeah, okay. All right, spin.
- 39:08Speaker 4: What if you had a speech impediment or something?
- 39:10Speaker 3: What should we run for?
- 39:11Speaker 5: I don't know. Something like city council. Something easy.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Something easy, yeah. Maybe a little bit smaller than.
- 39:17Speaker 3: You probably need... Yeah, you probably need some experience for.
- 39:20Speaker 7: I would say maybe like city council or something.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Oh, I guess. Sheriff sounds great. We were like, something
- 39:27Speaker 4: small and easy. Matt's like, president.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:30Speaker 4: We're like, actually, let's start a little smaller.
- 39:32Speaker 5: Jeff Landry, you're next.
- 39:34Speaker 4: Kevin, for you, Jeff.
- 39:36Speaker 5: Oh, we're on a list now.
- 39:38Speaker 4: Yeah, it's true.
- 39:39Speaker 5: We didn't mean it that way.
- 39:42Speaker 4: We're just joking.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Just for gigs. Just for gigs. All right, before we
- 39:48Speaker 3: get ourselves too much in trouble.
- 39:50Speaker 4: What about the others?
- 39:52Speaker 3: Can't say that. Let's take a break, wrap it up,
- 39:54Speaker 3: and we'll ask the bench when we come back here

- 42:18Speaker 4: There you go. Anytime there is something, you control it.
- 42:22Speaker 4: You control it.
- 42:22Speaker 3: All right. Let's get to a little Ask the Bench
- 42:25Speaker 3: brought to you by Dos Equis. Always a great time to.
- 42:29Speaker 4: Go for dos.
- 42:31Speaker 5: He didn't glow yesterday.
- 42:32Speaker 4: I didn't.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Ask the Bench. Wasn't that segment on politics a little risky?
- 42:36Speaker 4: Nah. What did you say?
- 42:38Speaker 5: No, I didn't give my actual opinion on anything.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Wasn't that segment on politics a little risky? No, not really.
- 42:43Speaker 4: We talk about a lot of unrisky topics here. Politics, religion.
- 42:46Speaker 4: I mean, that's kind of what we hit the most.
- 42:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 42:49Speaker 3: Flynn did say, say your prayers before you go to bed.
- 42:51Speaker 3: And we agreed.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Because we love the Lord.
- 42:53Speaker 3: We do.
- 42:53Speaker 5: We do love the Lord.
- 42:55Speaker 7: It wasn't risky because none of us gave our actual
- 42:57Speaker 7: opinion on anything. So that's when it probably would get risky.
- 43:01Speaker 4: However, if you have a third nipple, if you do
- 43:03Speaker 4: have my boot.
- 43:06Speaker 3: Hashtag ask the bench. If Flynn was elected sheriff, would
- 43:10Speaker 3: everybody be required to drive with their hazards on and
- 43:12Speaker 3: go 10 miles under the speed limit?
- 43:14Speaker 4: I promise you it wouldn't be illegal. That might be
- 43:17Speaker 4: what I run on.
- 43:18Speaker 5: Hazards.
- 43:19Speaker 4: Make flashers legal.
- 43:22Speaker 3: Hashtag ask the bench. What are you cooking for Halloween?
- 43:25Speaker 5: For Halloween?
- 43:27Speaker 3: Candy.
- 43:29Speaker 6: Victoria apparently invited like 10 people over to the house.
- 43:32Speaker 6: So doing hot dogs, Blackstone. I mean, you know, some
- 43:34Speaker 6: simple chili cheese. Cauldron of magical potion.
- 43:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Hashtag ask the bench. What was your all time slash
- 43:45Speaker 3: favorite costume you ever wore? The one you still tell
- 43:48Speaker 3: people about.
- 43:51Speaker 4: Dead Ghost brought that up.
- 43:53Speaker 3: You were the Atomic Wedgie in college. I remember that
- 43:57Speaker 3: one still, so it stood out. Katie and I went
- 44:01Speaker 3: as Tommy Lee and Pamela won Halloween. That was fun.
- 44:05Speaker 5: That's really good.
- 44:06Speaker 4: Y'all should do that again.
- 44:07Speaker 3: That was fun. I had the fuzzy hat. Yeah.
- 44:10Speaker 5: My Mia Wallace one last year, I nailed that one.
- 44:12Speaker 6: The wig was spot on. It really was good. I mean,
- 44:15Speaker 6: my Saul one was good.
- 44:16Speaker 3: A couple years ago. All good answers there.
- 44:19Speaker 6: For college, I'm sure this did well at a university.
- 44:23Speaker 6: For my fraternity party, me and Victoria were Bruce and
- 44:25Speaker 6: Caitlyn Jenner.
- 44:26Speaker 4: Right around where that whole thing happened. Okay. Same time.
- 44:29Speaker 4: Didn't win the costume contest, but I thought it was good.
- 44:31Speaker 5: No, that is good.
- 44:32Speaker 4: We got top three, but at some point people were like.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Get him off the stage.
- 44:36Speaker 7: In college, that's like the time when that was happening.
- 44:39Speaker 4: Yeah, it was.
- 44:40Speaker 6: It was like 2017, something like that.
- 44:42Speaker 5: Dang, that's a good costume.
- 44:45Speaker 4: I was Quail Man one time in college when I
- 44:48Speaker 4: didn't get a... I didn't get a costume, but I
- 44:52Speaker 4: was able to throw it together last minute. Doug Funny.
- 44:54Speaker 3: He was cool, man.
- 44:55Speaker 4: Underwear on the outside. Belt on the head.
- 44:58Speaker 3: I remember that. It was good. It was good. OTB,
- 45:02Speaker 3: love the Lord and hate the literate.
- 45:05Speaker 4: Sure.
- 45:05Speaker 5: I'm just saying that the illiterate also deserve a voice.
- 45:08Speaker 3: They do. Matt deserves a voice.
- 45:09Speaker 5: Matt deserves a voice.
- 45:12Speaker 4: Flashers, legal.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Hashtag ask of the bench. Who would you want to
- 45:16Speaker 3: be the head coach for the Saints if you could
- 45:18Speaker 3: pick any current coach, available or not, pro or college?
- 45:21Speaker 4: Sean McDermott. Sean McDermott. That's who I'm going with.
- 45:24Speaker 5: Kyle Shanahan.
- 45:27Speaker 4: The question should be like, realistically, who could you get?
- 45:29Speaker 4: Not available or not.
- 45:30Speaker 3: I mean, this is like a fantasy world.
- 45:32Speaker 4: Okay, Kyle Shanahan. Well, yeah, I was thinking like available.
- 45:35Speaker 4: They said or not. Brian Flores is the person that
- 45:38Speaker 4: I keep bringing up.
- 45:39Speaker 3: This is a fantasy world. Give me Andy Reid.
- 45:41Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a good one.
- 45:41Speaker 5: Give me Kyle Shanahan.
- 45:43Speaker 4: In a realistic?
- 45:44Speaker 3: I'll take him, too.
- 45:44Speaker 4: You want a realistic world? Sean Payton?
- 45:46Speaker 3: No.
- 45:47Speaker 1: No.
- 45:48Speaker 3: I'll go pick Kyle Shanahan up.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Immediately, no.
- 45:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll go get him.
