- 0:10Let's see what yours has to say.
- 0:12Let's ride.
- 0:13Two days ago, the sun was at 29° Virgo.
- 0:18The work was done.
- 0:20Or at least we had reached the point where Virgo had to ask whether we were still refining something that was already finished.
- 0:30Then yesterday, the sun crosses the threshold in the Libra.
- 0:35Mercury hands the sun over to Venus, Earth hands it to air, and the tarot changes with it.
- 0:45For the next 10 days, the sun moves through the two of swords.
- 0:49And I don't want to reduce the two of swords to just indecision.
- 0:54That's too easy.
- 0:55The two of swords is a difficult choice.
- 0:58A stalemate, an inability or sometimes an unwillingness to choose between two opposing positions.
- 1:08But look at the card.
- 1:10The swords are crossed, the arms across.
- 1:14The person isn't simply sitting there, unable to make up their mind.
- 1:18They're actively maintaining a balance between two opposing forces.
- 1:24Because sometimes you can't choose one thing without giving something else up.
- 1:30Sometimes both sides have a legitimate claim.
- 1:34Sometimes choosing isn't difficult because you don't know what you want.
- 1:39It's difficult because you know exactly what each choice costs.
- 1:46That's where Libra begins.
- 1:49Virgo spent the last 30 days asking what needs to be fixed, What.
- 1:55What needs to be corrected, what needs to be improved.
- 1:59Libra asks a different question.
- 2:02How do these things exist in relationship to one another?
- 2:08Virgo wants to discern, Libra wants to balance.
- 2:14Virgo separates, Libra compares.
- 2:18And here's something worth sitting with before we go any further.
- 2:23The sun is in its fall in Libra.
- 2:27The self, the identity, the will to simply assert what you are that's not operating from its own strength in the sun wants to shine, it wants to center.
- 2:40It wants to say, this is who I am, this is what I want, this is what I will do.
- 2:49But Libra asks, what about the other?
- 2:54Libra makes the sun negotiate.
- 2:57It makes the sun wait, compare, consider, account for another position before it acts.
- 3:06And that's not comfortable for the sun.
- 3:09The sun and fall can't simply walk into a stalemate and overpower it by force of will.
- 3:16It has to listen, it has to negotiate.
- 3:21It has to recognize that another position exists.
- 3:26And that's exactly why the swords stay crossed instead of one simply winning.
- 3:32The sun is not entering the two of swords from a position of unquestionable authority.
- 3:38It's entering a sign where its own impulse to center itself has to make room for someone or something across the table.
- 3:48And now the sun is sitting in Libra with two swords crossed in front of it.
- 3:55So the question isn't simply which sword do you choose?
- 4:00The question is why have these two swords become mutually exclusive in the first place?
- 4:09Because that's where this chart gets interesting.
- 4:12Look at the blindfold on the two of swords.
- 4:17It's easy to read that as ignorance.
- 4:21You can't see, therefore you can't decide.
- 4:25But I think there's something more interesting happening here.
- 4:29The problem isn't necessarily.
- 4:32I don't know.
- 4:33It can be.
- 4:35I don't know whether what I'm seeing is actually what I think I'm seeing.
- 4:40That's different.
- 4:42The blindfold becomes uncertainty about perception itself.
- 4:48Something can be illuminated without becoming completely clear.
- 4:52You can see the situation and still not know what the situation means.
- 4:58You can finally see both sides and discover that seeing both sides makes the decision harder.
- 5:05Not easy.
- 5:07That's the two of swords.
- 5:09On September 26th, a few days into this 10 day passage, there's a full moon at 3 degrees.
- 5:16Aries directly opposite the sun in Libra.
- 5:20It's a loaded one.
- 5:21The moon lands conjunct retrograde.
- 5:24Neptune, Mars, the ruler of the full moon is in fall in Cancer and square is Chiron at the far end of Aries, another 29 degree threshold right after the one we just left behind in Virgo.
- 5:39There's a long story behind that square one that actually goes back five months.
- 5:45I'm going to get to all of that in the next episode because that full moon deserves its own focus.
- 5:51And now just hold on to this.
- 5:55Aries is about to get live directly across from where the sun is standing.
- 6:03Self versus relationship.
- 6:06What I want versus what keeps the peace that's going to press on everything the two of swords is already asking.
- 6:15Let's stay with the card.
- 6:17Because Aries isn't just holding the full moon, it's also holding Saturn too.
- 6:24Saturn is in Aries.
- 6:26Mars is domicile and Mars is operating in Saturn's bonds.
- 6:33So the relationship between them is uneven.
- 6:37Mars wants to move, Saturn wants to make sure the movement can hold.
- 6:43Action is operating inside of restraint.
- 6:47And that's very two of swords as well.
- 6:50The opposing forces aren't simply fighting, they're negotiating.
- 6:56But the negotiation isn't equal.
- 6:59One side has more structural authority than the other.
- 7:04We'll come back to what that means for the full moon on the 26th.
- 7:09For now, let's stay with the sun, because the sun is in Libra and Libra has to answer tomorrow.
- 7:19And there's one more technical piece that matters.
- 7:23The sun is in Libra.
- 7:25Libra belongs to Venus.
- 7:28And where's Venus?
- 7:30Venus is in Scorpio, where she's in detriment.
- 7:35And Scorpio belongs to Mars.
- 7:39So the dispositive chain is sun in Libra, Venus in Scorpio, Mars in Cancer.
- 7:48The Libra sun doesn't get to remain purely Libra.
- 7:52Its ruler ultimately routes the story toward Mars.
- 7:58So underneath all this talk about balance, proportion, diplomacy and relationship, there sits Mars.
- 8:08Libra has to answer to Mars and that matters.
- 8:11Because the sun is already in fall, it doesn't have the authority to simply impose an answer.
- 8:18It has to negotiate.
- 8:21It has to account for the other side.
- 8:24But eventually balance has to become something more than stillness.
- 8:29Because underneath the cross swords is a question Libra can't avoid forever.
- 8:34What are you gonna do now?
- 8:37Look underneath the opposition.
- 8:39The sun in Libra and Trine, retrograde Pluto and Aquarius.
- 8:44Pluto isn't creating the opposition.
- 8:47It's giving us another question.
- 8:50What's underneath it?
- 8:53Why did these two positions become mutually exclusive?
- 8:58Why does choosing one feel like rejecting the other?
- 9:04What old structure is holding the opposition in place?
- 9:09Pluto asks what has to change for something new to exist?
- 9:14And because it's retrograde, there's reconsideration built in.
- 9:19Maybe what you thought you wanted isn't what you want anymore.
- 9:24Maybe the structure you're trying to preserve has already served its purpose.
- 9:30That's not necessarily failure.
- 9:34Sometimes it's recognition.
- 9:38Then we get to September 28th.
- 9:41The sun is around 5° Libra and Trine is retrograde at 5° Gemini.
- 9:48This is roughly the halfway point of the Sun's ten day movement through the two of swords.
- 9:55And this is exactly the kind of help a Sun and fall actually needs.
- 10:01Not more willpower, not forcing an answer.
- 10:05A sunny fall can't just decide its way out of a stalemate.
- 10:10It needs something to hand it a different angle.
- 10:15And that's what Uranus does here.
- 10:18And Uranus can break the frame.
- 10:22Not necessarily by giving you the answer, by giving you another way to look at the problem.
- 10:28Suddenly maybe I'm looking at this wrong.
- 10:32That's different from I finally know which side is right.
- 10:37Uranus doesn't have to choose the sword.
- 10:40It can make you question why you thought there were only two swords.
- 10:46And because Uranus is retrograde, this can be less about external shock and more about internal realization.
- 10:55Something Clicks, the frame changes and you see another possibility.
- 11:02On October 1, the moon meets Uranus in Gemini and Trines the Sun.
- 11:10So the insight that appeared earlier gets emotionally activated.
- 11:14First I can see another possibility, then I can feel another possibility.
- 11:24An idea can remain intellectual, a realization can remain theoretical.
- 11:31But when the Moon gets involved, the body gets involved.
- 11:35You don't just understand something differently, you experience it differently.
- 11:41Not choosing one sword, changing your relationship to the swords.
- 11:48By October 3rd, the sun finishes this 10 day passage through the two of swords.
- 11:55And then the tarot changes again.
- 11:58The two becomes the three.
- 12:02The suspension becomes an event.
- 12:06The opposition becomes something you have to experience.
- 12:11And on October 4th, the sun opposes Saturn.
- 12:17This is where the pressure we've been feeling finally becomes direct.
- 12:22The sun in Libra, Saturn in Aries.
- 12:28Two opposing signs, two opposing principles.
- 12:31And yes, this is a difficult opposition.
- 12:37The sun is in fall in Libra, Saturn is in fallen Aries.
- 12:43A light and a malefic are facing each other.
- 12:46But then something extraordinary happens.
- 12:49In the traditional dignity picture, the sun is in Saturn's exaltation.
- 12:56Saturn is in the Sun's exaltation.
- 13:00They're in mutual reception by exaltation.
- 13:04And unlike the Mars Saturn relationship earlier in the story, this reception is symmetrical.
- 13:12Each recognizes something in the other.
- 13:15That's the development.
- 13:17Earlier, Mars and Saturn were negotiating through an uneven relationship.
- 13:23Now the sun and Saturn meet with a fully reciprocal exchange.
- 13:29That doesn't mean they agree, it means something more interesting.
- 13:35I recognize the legitimacy of your position, even while I oppose you.
- 13:41The other side isn't necessarily wrong.
- 13:45And recognizing that doesn't require abandoning your own position.
- 13:50That's Libra.
- 13:52Not surrender, not appeasement, recognition.
- 13:58And suddenly the two of swords looks different.
- 14:02Maybe the person was holding two truths that hadn't yet found a way to exist together.
- 14:08Maybe the problem wasn't which one is right.
- 14:12Maybe the problem was why do I believe choosing one means destroying the other?
- 14:19That's the deeper question is discovering what each side is protecting, what each side is afraid of losing, what each side is asking for.
- 14:31The question underneath it all, the sun has moved from Virgo into Libra.
- 14:38From the eight of pentacles through the nine of pinnacles and the ten of pentacles into the two of swords.
- 14:45Virgo taught us how to do the work, how to refine, how to improve, how to build.
- 14:54Libra now asks what happens when two legitimate positions meet?
- 15:00And that's harder, because fixing something is often easier than living with what cannot simply be fixed.
- 15:09You can correct a mistake, you can improve a Skill.
- 15:15You can organize a room.
- 15:18But what do you do when two truths collide?
- 15:22What's your relationship with truth?
- 15:25What do you do when choosing one means giving something else up?
- 15:31What do you do when the thing you're trying to protect is also the thing keeping you from moving?
- 15:40What do you do when you finally realize the person across from you isn't simply wrong?
- 15:46That's the two of swords.
- 15:48But recognition doesn't mean the tension disappears.
- 15:52The sun still opposes Saturn and the two of swords still becomes a three.
- 15:58That's important because the three of swords isn't simply you finally made a decision.
- 16:05It's what happens when the opposition can no longer remain suspended.
- 16:11Reality enters the room.
- 16:14The consequences of the two positions become visible.
- 16:18Something has to be acknowledged.
- 16:21Something may hurt, Something may have to be released.
- 16:25And that's exactly why this reception progression matters.
- 16:31At the beginning, the relationship between Mars and Saturn is uneven.
- 16:37Action is operating inside restraint.
- 16:40By the end, the sun and Saturn can recognize each other's authority through mutual exhortation.
- 16:48Unequal then equal recognition.
- 16:52The chart is literally rebalancing its own power dynamics as the days pass.
- 16:59And that mirrors the movement from the two of swords to the three.
- 17:04The two holds the opposition.
- 17:06The three experiences it.
- 17:10We started with 29 degree Virgo.
- 17:13The work was done.
- 17:16Then the sun crossed into Libra.
- 17:18And now we're watching another threshold develop.
- 17:22Chiron is sitting at 29 degrees Aries this week too.
- 17:26That's part of the full moon story.
- 17:28I'll pick that back up on the next episode.
- 17:32The sun eventually moving towards Saturn.
- 17:35Everything keeps bringing us back to the edge of something.
- 17:39The edge between action and restraint.
- 17:42The edge between self and other.
- 17:45The edge between certainty and uncertainty.
- 17:48The edge between holding the balance and having to live with the consequences of that balance.
- 17:55And maybe that's what the two of swords is really asking.
- 17:59Not can you make a decision, but can you remain honest while you haven't made one yet?
- 18:09Can you hold two opposing truths without pretending they're the same?
- 18:14Can you recognize another person's position without surrendering your own?
- 18:20Can you find balance without abandoning your truth?
- 18:24Because balance isn't the absence of opposition.
- 18:28Balance is what you do while opposition exists.
- 18:32And eventually the swords come down.
- 18:37Not necessarily because one side won, but because you finally understood what you were holding.
- 18:45And that brings us to the next card, the three of swords, where the opposition is no longer theoretical, it's real, it's felt.
- 18:56And now you have to live with it.
- 18:59So as the sun crosses Libra and moves through the ten days of Two of Swords here's the question I want you to carry with you.
- 19:09What if the thing you're trying to choose between isn't actually the choice?
- 19:14Stand in your truth.
