- 0:00Is your soul calling you to live a more soft, slow life?
- 0:05Well, in today's society full of digital distractions and hustle
- 0:09culture, no wonder today I'll go over what a soft life actually
- 0:15means. How I went from the biggest
- 0:18hustler to entering my soft girl era, living the cottage life in
- 0:23the English countryside and make sure to stay until the very end
- 0:26to find out how you can enter your soft era to experience more
- 0:30peace and joy in your life. So what is this trend of a soft
- 0:35life? It originates in the Nigerian
- 0:38influencer community. The term soft life or soft era
- 0:42describes living a life of enjoyment and comfort while
- 0:46limiting stress. The purpose of soft life is to
- 0:48say no to all the struggles, stress and anxiety that comes
- 0:52with the rat race, and instead to focus on what makes you truly
- 0:56happy and your body happy. Which is why there's such a
- 1:00focus on self-care in this movement.
- 1:02I'm a Capricorn, so hustling is my thing.
- 1:06I remember being five years old and so impatient that we hadn't
- 1:10gone in our first homework yet. We were just singing songs and
- 1:14drawing. So I made-up my own homework
- 1:17like just drawing a little posted notes and telling mom
- 1:20look I'm doing homework. I would put all nighters as a
- 1:23student to get the best grades. I would sacrifice my health.
- 1:27And this continued as a business owner where the hassle culture
- 1:30is the strongest so being calm does not come naturally to me.
- 1:34I very easily get anxious and overwhelmed and This is why I've
- 1:37always craved a peaceful, slow life.
- 1:41I don't know how many slow living, soft living, minimalist
- 1:44videos I've watched on YouTube. It really suits my mind.
- 1:48But social media, scrolling, overthinking, erasing mind has
- 1:51always has almost become like an addiction.
- 1:55So it's hard. It's been hard for me to
- 1:57transition to a more of a soft living.
- 1:59Every six months or so I have a call to the psychic to ask my
- 2:02spirit guides what I need to focus on, and one common theme
- 2:05that comes up is that I need to slow down.
- 2:08It's like I'm terrified of taking one day off and that that
- 2:13would make the world go under. So my spirit guides actually
- 2:16gave me a homework of daring to take a weekday off and not work.
- 2:22So this year I set the New Year's goal of one word and that
- 2:27is balance. To not overwork and take care of
- 2:30my body. Listen to my body to step more
- 2:32into my feminine energy, be present, feel good.
- 2:35And here's where self-care comes in.
- 2:37I've started watching belly dancing videos on YouTube to
- 2:40step more into my feminine energy and I only work until
- 2:43lunch now, which I feel so blessed that I have the passive
- 2:47income to be able to do this. I know this is not for
- 2:50everybody, but for those of you who can do this and still have
- 2:53the income coming in, I urge you to try this as a challenge for
- 2:56yourself if you feel like you've been too much in your masculine
- 2:58energy To get more into balance. I've been focusing on getting
- 3:02enough sleep every night, exercising little bits every
- 3:04day, eating healthy, but also treating myself sometimes
- 3:08nothing in excess and this is what a soft life means to me.
- 3:10My boyfriend is from the English countryside and when I visited
- 3:14him for the first time I was shocked to see so many fields,
- 3:18greenery and how tiny his town was with little cathedral in the
- 3:23middle. I love the slow pace of living
- 3:26here. I grew up in Sweden's next
- 3:28biggest city, Gothenburg, and that's what I'm used to.
- 3:30But now every time I go back to city, I feel overwhelmed by all
- 3:35the billboards, shops, people, cars.
- 3:38Sometimes it can get a bit lonely and I sometimes miss the
- 3:41conveniences of a big city. I think Country Life and city
- 3:45life has their pros and cons, but I do think that regardless
- 3:49where you live, you can create a soft, slow life.
- 3:52I think it's more of a mental state and you can help your mind
- 3:56settle through turning your home into your sanctuary.
- 3:59And that brings us to the first of six steps on how to step into
- 4:03your soft era. And that is to turn your home
- 4:06into a sanctuary. Declutter every room of your
- 4:10house and see what do I actually use?
- 4:12This is something here I haven't used in a whole year.
- 4:15Then throw it away or give it away or sell it.
- 4:18Organize your space. There's a reason why monks clean
- 4:22every day and why they are so organized.
- 4:24And that's because you're out. The reality really affects your
- 4:27inner reality and vice versa. So by keeping your space clean
- 4:31and organized, you also get a decluttered mind.
- 4:35And to me there's nothing more stressful than opening the
- 4:38closet and all the clothes is just a mess.
- 4:42You can't find anything, or a cupboard, a food cupboard where
- 4:45you can't even find the food. There's no organization there.
- 4:49Next step is to reflect on your priorities and values.
- 4:53Really clarify to you what a soft era means to you and why
- 4:58you want to pursue it. So for me that was working less,
- 5:02stepping more into my divine feminine through belly dancing,
- 5:06sleeping more, sleeping longer. But for you, it might be
- 5:10something completely different. Perhaps switching your coffee,
- 5:14which makes you anxious and stressed, to an herbal tea like
- 5:18I'm drinking now, what it called strawberry strawberry leaf tea,
- 5:24which also helps you step into your divine feminine and helps
- 5:27the reproductive system. Or perhaps it's baking and
- 5:31cooking more, having more of a slow cooking life where you
- 5:35enjoy the flavors and taking your time with it rather than
- 5:39buying take away every night. Or perhaps starting a meditation
- 5:42practice if you don't have already, to reduce your stress
- 5:45and step into your soul more. Next step to step into your soft
- 5:49era is to practice gratitude daily.
- 5:53Be grateful for what you have in your life right now in my
- 5:57boyfriend's dad house. Since my boyfriend is going
- 6:00through some health problems and it's not ideal that we had to
- 6:04give up on our house and we can't travel for a while, but
- 6:11instead I focused on what actually is blessings in my life
- 6:15such as that's that I'm taking care of him helping me with
- 6:18that. I'm having a cup of tea.
- 6:21The sun. It's October and there's still
- 6:23sun here which is beautiful. Every morning I go out and just
- 6:26feel the sunshine on my face. So being present and grateful
- 6:29for the small things, write this information in the comments
- 6:33right now. I'm grateful for everything I
- 6:35have and receive daily. Next step is to prioritize your
- 6:39health. Make sure you're not burning
- 6:41yourself out with work, that you get 7 to 8 hours of sleep every
- 6:46night. Make sure to get into nature
- 6:48daily. In fact, that's why I decided to
- 6:50move here to the countryside with my boyfriend cuz I love
- 6:53being able to just walk into nature to have it at my
- 6:56doorstep. However, if you love city living
- 6:59or you have a job where you have to be in the city, then make
- 7:02sure to get to a park everyday exercise and focus on slow
- 7:06mindful exercise such as yoga and Pilates. #5 is to enjoy your
- 7:11hobbies every week. This one is and has been a big
- 7:15struggle for me because as a Capricorn I want everything I do
- 7:19to be productive. For example, if I have time off,
- 7:23I go through an online course or I read a non fictional book to
- 7:27learn how to improve my life. It's been hard for me to just
- 7:30play and have fun, but when I do, I love it so much I feel
- 7:34like a kid again. Step 6 on how to step into your
- 7:37soft era is to find your life purpose.
- 7:42If you have a job that causes you stress anxiety, your long
- 7:46term goals should really be to get out of this job and do
- 7:49something you actually enjoy. I remember waking up every
- 7:52weekday and just feeling anxious because I remember I have this
- 7:57nine to five job that I hated. I couldn't enjoy my mornings
- 8:01because I was so anxious going to work.
- 8:04Now that is not a soft life to me.
- 8:06If you're not sure what your purpose is, then don't worry.
- 8:09Down below I have a free guide on how to find your purpose in
- 8:13five simple steps. Now I'd love to hear if you
- 8:16think you have entered your soft era, let me know in the
- 8:19comments. Love you so much and have a
- 8:22beautiful, beautiful day.
