Speaker 1: What's up everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
0:04
Speaker 1: One of the first people to report Jeffrey Epstein and
0:07
Speaker 1: his behavior was Maria Farmer, and now Maria Farmer and
0:12
Speaker 1: her new law firm are asking the FBI why they
0:16
Speaker 1: did not stop Jeffrey Epstein from doing what he was doing.
0:21
Speaker 1: And they're also asking the FBI to open a probe
0:24
Speaker 1: into itself to try and find the answers to those questions.
0:29
Speaker 1: And in today's episode, we have a massive article from
0:33
Speaker 1: Kate Bricklett over at The Daily Beast talking about this
0:37
Speaker 1: new demand by Maria Farmer and some of the other
0:40
Speaker 1: survivors and their new law firm for accountability at the FBI.
0:46
Speaker 1: So let's dive into this article and let's see what's
0:50
Speaker 1: going on. Headline Epstein survivor demands FBI investigate its failure
0:55
Speaker 1: to stop them. This article was authored by Kate brig
1:01
Speaker 1: When Maria Farmer worked for Jeffrey Epstein in nineteen ninety six,
1:05
Speaker 1: she saw girls in school uniforms, visit the pedophile's Manhattan townhouse,
1:09
Speaker 1: and encountered binders with photographs of teens and young women
1:14
Speaker 1: at his mansion in Palm Beach. At the time, Farmer
1:17
Speaker 1: told The Daily Beast. Epstein's then girlfriend and accomplice, Glaine Maxwell,
1:22
Speaker 1: claimed these young visitors and photographs were related to modeling
1:27
Speaker 1: jobs for limited brands owned by Epstein's billionaire client, Les Wexner.
1:32
Speaker 1: But Farmer's suspicions about her employer turned into a living
1:36
Speaker 1: nightmare after Epstein and Maxwell allegedly assaulted her in Ohio,
1:40
Speaker 1: where she spent the summer working on an art project
1:43
Speaker 1: at Wexner's estate. Wexner's security guards, she says, held her
1:48
Speaker 1: against her will for hours after she tried to flee
1:51
Speaker 1: the premises. Now, Maria has told her story here and elsewhere,
1:56
Speaker 1: many many times, and the fact of the matter is
1:59
Speaker 1: nothing ever came of her allegations. Nobody looked further, nobody
2:03
Speaker 1: looked deeper. They swept that shit under the rug. When
2:06
Speaker 1: she returned to New York, Farmer filed reports with the
2:09
Speaker 1: NYPD and the FBI, which both ultimately shrugged off her
2:14
Speaker 1: warnings about Epstein and Maxwell. Did they really shrug them
2:18
Speaker 1: off or did they know what was going on and
2:21
Speaker 1: couldn't be bothered to have their operation put on blast?
2:25
Speaker 1: Because there's no way that the FBI, the CIA and
2:28
Speaker 1: all the rest of these knuckleheads had no idea what
2:31
Speaker 1: Epstein was up to. Now, nearly twenty seven years later,
2:35
Speaker 1: Farmer is demanding that the FBI examined why it failed
2:38
Speaker 1: to investigate her complaints about Epstein, similar to how the
2:43
Speaker 1: agency probed its errors in other crimes, including the Parkland, Florida,
2:47
Speaker 1: school shooting and Larry Nasser's sex abuse. On Tuesday, a
2:52
Speaker 1: lawyer for Farmer sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Ray,
2:56
Speaker 1: Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz,
3:02
Speaker 1: demanding an inquiry into the FBI's failure to seriously investigate
3:06
Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell. Well. I don't know what Horowitz is
3:10
Speaker 1: going to do, considering we still don't have any sort
3:12
Speaker 1: of information about Jeffrey Epstein's death over at mcc dudes
3:17
Speaker 1: had all these years to put something together, and we
3:20
Speaker 1: have Didley's squat when it comes to official information. So
3:24
Speaker 1: if we're waiting for Horowitz to investigate, we're gonna be
3:27
Speaker 1: waiting until san Zanad. The fifteen page document reviewed by
3:31
Speaker 1: The Daily Beast raises questions about why the FEDS seem
3:35
Speaker 1: to have given Epstein a hall pass for one of
3:37
Speaker 1: the largest sex trafficking and see sam conspiracies in recent memory.
3:43
Speaker 1: Certainly a good question. Do I think the FBI is
3:46
Speaker 1: ever going to answer it? I do not, But especially
3:50
Speaker 1: if you're somebody like Maria who alerted the authorities to
3:53
Speaker 1: these people, told the authorities what these people were up to,
3:57
Speaker 1: and then all these years later, still no investors litigation,
4:00
Speaker 1: even though there has been tons of evidence that there
4:04
Speaker 1: was impropriety at the very least within the federal government
4:08
Speaker 1: in regard to Epstein. Still no investigation though, huh. And
4:12
Speaker 1: it's pretty sad that somebody who is a survivor of
4:15
Speaker 1: Epstein all these years later is still looking for some
4:18
Speaker 1: help from the FBI. As counsel to many survivors of
4:22
Speaker 1: the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking conspiracy, we write regarding the
4:26
Speaker 1: failure of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to properly, adequately,
4:31
Speaker 1: or timely investigate the sex trafficking of hundreds of girls
4:36
Speaker 1: and young women, wrote Jennifer Freeman, senior counsel at the
4:39
Speaker 1: Marsh Law Firm. The FBI utterly failed to investigate serious
4:44
Speaker 1: allegations involving Epstein's and perhaps others child sex abuse materials
4:49
Speaker 1: significant additional criminality, which until recently has been disregarded, disrespected,
4:55
Speaker 1: and essentially denied. Freeman, whose firm also represent and Sarah Ransom,
5:01
Speaker 1: another survivor of Epstein and Maxwell, wrote that the FBI,
5:04
Speaker 1: Justice Department and Attorney General must conduct a comprehensive investigation
5:09
Speaker 1: to determine why there was and remains such abject failures
5:13
Speaker 1: to timely investigate, expose, and prosecute this unprecedented, decades long
5:20
Speaker 1: criminal conspiracy. And that's pretty plainly put right, not mincing
5:25
Speaker 1: any words there. Everybody knows what these scoundrels were up to.
5:28
Speaker 1: Everybody knows what Epstein was up to, The FBI knows,
5:32
Speaker 1: the DOJ knows, everybody knows, and everybody knew, and they
5:37
Speaker 1: didn't do anything about it. They continued to let him operate.
5:40
Speaker 1: They continued to let him do what he wanted to do.
5:44
Speaker 1: And when you're having meetings with somebody like mister Burns
5:47
Speaker 1: over here, who ends up being the CIA director, you
5:50
Speaker 1: see how all of that can get facilitated. Right When
5:53
Speaker 1: you have friends like that, well, you can get away
5:56
Speaker 1: with just about anything. For many years, the public has
5:59
Speaker 1: been asking for a reckoning by the FBI and the
6:02
Speaker 1: United States government for its clear dereliction of duty to
6:06
Speaker 1: serve and protect the American people against Epstein the sex
6:09
Speaker 1: trafficking conspiracy, wrote Freeman, adding, however, we are aware of
6:14
Speaker 1: no investigation of the FBI and certainly no public disclosure
6:19
Speaker 1: or explanation. And the sad fact is they're never going
6:22
Speaker 1: to be transparent about this investigation about what went on,
6:26
Speaker 1: because they know that they're going to come out smelling
6:28
Speaker 1: like a big pile of dog shit. And we all
6:30
Speaker 1: know that the career bureaucrats can't allow that. Right Epstein
6:34
Speaker 1: and Maxwell's victims, the public at large arote a full
6:37
Speaker 1: accounting of the FBI's many failures and missed opportunities. The
6:42
Speaker 1: American people, the survivors, and the victims all deserve to
6:46
Speaker 1: know the truth. The letter arrives amid a year's long
6:50
Speaker 1: battle to hold Epstein's powerful enablers accountable for his crimes.
6:54
Speaker 1: Billionaire philanthropists, multinational banks and their executives, academics, and other
7:00
Speaker 1: elites who associated with Epstein have found themselves under the
7:03
Speaker 1: microscope in the wake of his twenty nineteen arrest and
7:07
Speaker 1: the death in a federal lockup in New York. Since then,
7:12
Speaker 1: more than three dozen accusers have brought lawsuits against the estate,
7:16
Speaker 1: and the Victim Compensation Fund paid out one hundred and
7:19
Speaker 1: twenty one million to one hundred and fifty of his victims,
7:22
Speaker 1: But they paid out the same amount basically to the USVII,
7:25
Speaker 1: So the United States Virgin Islands gets as much as
7:29
Speaker 1: all of the victims combined. Make that make sense, please.
7:34
Speaker 1: By the end of twenty twenty one, Manhattan federal prosecutors
7:38
Speaker 1: also secured Maxwell's conviction for child sex trafficking, and last summer,
7:43
Speaker 1: Maxwell was sentenced to twenty years behind bars and to
7:46
Speaker 1: serving time at the low security FCI Tallahassee in Florida.
7:51
Speaker 1: Now a trio of lawsuits against JP Morgan and Deutsche
7:55
Speaker 1: Bank are revealing how banking executives apparently knew of accusations
8:00
Speaker 1: that Epstein trafficked women and girls, but continued to provide
8:04
Speaker 1: the financial infrastructure for his international sex ring. It's about
8:08
Speaker 1: time somebody's paying attention. We've been ringing that bell for
8:11
Speaker 1: how long on this podcast talking about the financial sector
8:14
Speaker 1: and how deeply they're involved with all of Epstein's bullshit,
8:18
Speaker 1: and not just Epstein, you talk about crime in any regard.
8:22
Speaker 1: Massive amounts of crime. All of that money is being
8:25
Speaker 1: laundered through the financial sector, and they're not doing a
8:28
Speaker 1: thing about it. The US Virgin Islands government and the
8:32
Speaker 1: victim referred to as Jane do One have both filed
8:35
Speaker 1: complaints accusing JP Morgan of participating in Epstein's legal venture.
8:40
Speaker 1: JP Morgan knew that it was providing the financial lifeblood
8:44
Speaker 1: for Epstein's international sex trafficking organization from nineteen ninety eight
8:49
Speaker 1: through August of twenty thirteen. Those lawsuits says, adding that
8:54
Speaker 1: the bank's crucial financial support allowed Epstein to successfully rape, sexually, assault,
8:59
Speaker 1: and coercively sex traffic Jane Doe one and numerous other victims.
9:05
Speaker 1: On Friday, lawyers for Doe and another victims suing Deutsche
9:09
Speaker 1: Bank submitted legal memorandum asking a federal judge to grant
9:13
Speaker 1: their cases class action status, indicating more than one hundred
9:17
Speaker 1: victims could join the litigation based on the bank's oone
9:20
Speaker 1: financial records. And that's what it should be. This should
9:23
Speaker 1: be a massive class action suit with so many people
9:27
Speaker 1: involved that they can't sweep it under the rug. Because
9:30
Speaker 1: you know, these banks are going to try and settle,
9:31
Speaker 1: that's what they want to do. They don't want to
9:33
Speaker 1: get to discovery. They don't want people to see the
9:36
Speaker 1: nonsense that they were up to. They don't want to
9:38
Speaker 1: get aired out in public, so they'll look to settle
9:40
Speaker 1: before it even gets anywhere close to that. Meanwhile, these
9:44
Speaker 1: legal proceedings have possibly uncovered new photos and video evidence
9:49
Speaker 1: related to Epstein's victims. In response to a subpoena from Doe,
9:53
Speaker 1: Council for the Epstein estate notified her lawyers that it
9:57
Speaker 1: had located materials and was concerned some of it might
10:00
Speaker 1: contain child sex abuse imagery, according to an April court filing.
10:05
Speaker 1: As a result, US District Judge Jed Raykoff signed an
10:08
Speaker 1: order directing the Epstein estate to review the materials and
10:12
Speaker 1: to notify the FBI if a recording appears to contain
10:15
Speaker 1: possible see Sam Farmer says that she warned the FBI
10:20
Speaker 1: about Epstein's graphic images nearly three decades ago when she
10:24
Speaker 1: contacted them about his sexual abuse, and Maria has been
10:27
Speaker 1: very very clear telling her a story about what happened
10:30
Speaker 1: with Jeffrey Epstein, the photographs and all of the stuff
10:34
Speaker 1: that came in the aftermath, and nobody paid attention, not
10:37
Speaker 1: the FBI not the NYPD, nobody, And these are documented reports.
10:43
Speaker 1: She filed these reports with the authorities, and they ignored it.
10:47
Speaker 1: That's what it comes down to. Freeman's letter states Farmer
10:50
Speaker 1: reported to the FBI that Epstein and perhaps others appeared
10:54
Speaker 1: to engage in the production, possession, and distribution of sexually
10:58
Speaker 1: suggestive or exploit of images of children that could constitute
11:03
Speaker 1: se SAM. It adds that in response to miss Farmer's
11:06
Speaker 1: clear eyed, prescient report, and despite subsequent repeated red flags
11:11
Speaker 1: that Epstein traffick girls and collected sexualized images of children,
11:15
Speaker 1: the FBI appears for years to have done little to
11:19
Speaker 1: investigate and prosecute Epstein's sex trafficking, and to date done
11:24
Speaker 1: nothing regarding reports of possible see Sam. They still haven't.
11:28
Speaker 1: What have they done? Who has been arrested? Has anybody
11:31
Speaker 1: had their door kicked in? And have they been dragged
11:33
Speaker 1: out kicking and screaming? No, of course they haven't. That's
11:36
Speaker 1: reserved for you and me. The letter suggests that Epstein
11:40
Speaker 1: may have had a special relationship with the government that
11:43
Speaker 1: led to the FBI's refusal to target him and high
11:46
Speaker 1: profile men in disorbit well if he was working as
11:49
Speaker 1: an asset for the United States government. The last thing
11:52
Speaker 1: they want to do is burn their own asset, right,
11:55
Speaker 1: So why would they have an investigation into Jeffrey Epstein?
11:59
Speaker 1: Want to talk about more breadcrumbs about him being somebody
12:03
Speaker 1: connected to intelligence or the FBI or whatever. All you
12:07
Speaker 1: need to know is that he's paling around with the
12:10
Speaker 1: current CIA director. That might warrant a little bit of investigation. No,
12:14
Speaker 1: considering that Jeffrey Epstein was someone who collected blackmail and
12:18
Speaker 1: compromud on everybody, did he have compromut on Burns? Now,
12:22
Speaker 1: I'm not saying he did. I don't know, but that's
12:24
Speaker 1: a question that should be asked. No, where all the hearings.
12:27
Speaker 1: Is Senate gonna have a hearing? How about the Congress?
12:30
Speaker 1: I highly doubt any of that's going to occur though.
12:33
Speaker 1: You know why, folks, because really, when it comes down
12:36
Speaker 1: to it, they don't care what Epstein was up to.
12:38
Speaker 1: They don't care one single bit. If they did, we
12:41
Speaker 1: wouldn't even be at this point right now. All of
12:43
Speaker 1: these people would have been caught up in a rico
12:45
Speaker 1: net and we would have been on to the next one.
12:48
Speaker 1: But that's not how it works in the real world,
12:51
Speaker 1: is it? When you have money, you have power, you
12:53
Speaker 1: have the ability to slip the drag net and not
12:56
Speaker 1: pay the price for your actions. And we see it
12:59
Speaker 1: time and time again. It's paramount that people know about
13:04
Speaker 1: these systemic failures within our government, Farmer told The Daily Beast,
13:08
Speaker 1: adding that she believes that the agency favored wealth and
13:11
Speaker 1: power over American children. I want to see those girls,
13:15
Speaker 1: those women victimized by Epstein broad justice before I die.
13:20
Speaker 1: That's my main goal. The FBI declined comment. All right,
13:24
Speaker 1: we're gonna wrap up part one here and in the
13:26
Speaker 1: next episode we're gonna pick up with part two. All
13:29
Speaker 1: of the information that goes with the episode can be
13:32
Speaker 1: found in the description box. What's up everyone, and welcome
13:36
Speaker 1: back to the Epstein Chronicles. We're gonna pick up where
13:40
Speaker 1: we left off in the last episode with the Kate
13:43
Speaker 1: Bricklet article from The Daily Beast about the FBI and
13:47
Speaker 1: the new calls for accountability. Farmer, an artist and recent
13:51
Speaker 1: graduate of the New York Academy of Art, was likely
13:55
Speaker 1: the first victim of Epstein's to contact the police, as
13:58
Speaker 1: The Daily Beast has a realted after the financier Pedophile
14:02
Speaker 1: and Maxwell assaulted Farmer, she would soon learn that they
14:06
Speaker 1: tried to groom her younger sister Annie during a visit
14:09
Speaker 1: to the New Mexico compound. At Maxwell's trial, Annie testified
14:14
Speaker 1: that she was sixteen when Maxwell groped her chest during
14:17
Speaker 1: a massage at Epstein's New Mexico ranch, and that Epstein
14:20
Speaker 1: had entered her room announced he wanted to cuddle with
14:23
Speaker 1: her and pressed his body against hers. And again, Zoro
14:27
Speaker 1: Ranch is one of the least explored places in this whole,
14:31
Speaker 1: entire sordid affair. What happened at Zoro Ranch. That's a
14:35
Speaker 1: question that everybody should be asking, and unfortunately we have
14:39
Speaker 1: little to know answers about what went on there. We've
14:42
Speaker 1: heard from Annie about her experience, but as far as
14:46
Speaker 1: an overall robust picture being painted, we have not had
14:50
Speaker 1: that yet, and there hasn't been very many people that
14:53
Speaker 1: have come out and talked about what was going on
14:55
Speaker 1: down at Zoro Ranch. My guess is there's a lot
14:59
Speaker 1: of girls locally that were probably abused as well. We
15:02
Speaker 1: know that that was Epstein's mo send girls out to
15:05
Speaker 1: the local schools, all the rest of it, bring girls
15:07
Speaker 1: in in his sexual Ponzi scheme. So you mean to
15:10
Speaker 1: tell me he wasn't doing the same in New Mexico.
15:13
Speaker 1: And then you look at New Mexico in the frame
15:16
Speaker 1: of all of the missing Indigenous girls, and it really
15:20
Speaker 1: paints a very ugly picture. Freeman's letter notes that Farmer
15:24
Speaker 1: also believed that Epstein and Maxwell had snatched some photographs
15:28
Speaker 1: of her younger sisters, one of whom was eleven years
15:31
Speaker 1: old and partially dressed, from her collection during her stay
15:34
Speaker 1: at Wexner's property. Farmer told us those images were for
15:38
Speaker 1: an art series on adolescents, they were not sexuals, she said.
15:43
Speaker 1: When Farmer confronted Epstein and Maxwell about their activities, they
15:46
Speaker 1: allegedly threatened her safety and warned they'd light her artwork
15:50
Speaker 1: on fire. And Maria has told this story countless times,
15:54
Speaker 1: I mean countless times, on many different platforms. Farmer reported
15:58
Speaker 1: the duo to the end D six Precinct, which took
16:02
Speaker 1: a report on the alleged fire threats, but directed her
16:05
Speaker 1: to bring her claims of sex abuse to the FBI.
16:08
Speaker 1: The letter says a nineteen ninety six police report reviewed
16:12
Speaker 1: by The Daily Beast shows that Farmer told cops that
16:15
Speaker 1: Epstein stated he was going to burn her paintings and
16:20
Speaker 1: send her polaroids of the damage. The FBI's repeated and
16:24
Speaker 1: continual failures, delays, and inactions allowed Epstein and others to
16:29
Speaker 1: continue their sex trafficking conspiracy for nearly a quarter of
16:33
Speaker 1: a century. Freeman wrote, Unfortunately, Ms Farmer's nineteen ninety six
16:38
Speaker 1: report regarding Epstein's sex trafficking and sexually concerning images proved
16:43
Speaker 1: to be spot on. And guess what, history proves that right,
16:47
Speaker 1: people can say whatever they want. But history proves that
16:50
Speaker 1: Maria Farmer and her allegations as far as the pictures
16:55
Speaker 1: and what Epstein was up to, that all checks out.
16:58
Speaker 1: And there's no doubt that she reports or this dude
17:01
Speaker 1: way back in the day, And all of these clowns
17:03
Speaker 1: that get on TV, especially from the SDNY and the
17:07
Speaker 1: New York State Prosecutor's Office who live on their ivory towers,
17:11
Speaker 1: they should all be real ashamed of themselves. But for
17:13
Speaker 1: them to be ashamed, they'd have to actually have some
17:16
Speaker 1: kind of moral compass, And in my opinion, anyone letting
17:19
Speaker 1: Epstein get away with what Epstein was getting away with
17:22
Speaker 1: certainly does not have a moral compass. Had law enforcement
17:27
Speaker 1: taken even minimal action to respond to them, as farmers
17:30
Speaker 1: and to others two thousand and six, two thousand and eight,
17:33
Speaker 1: twenty eleven, and other reports, more sex trafficking and likely
17:37
Speaker 1: see SAM crimes could have been avoided. Freeman added, She's
17:41
Speaker 1: not wrong. I mean, it only makes sense if this
17:44
Speaker 1: guy is inactive and he's off the street, and he's
17:47
Speaker 1: being held in prison while he's not out on the
17:49
Speaker 1: street molesting anybody seems pretty simple to me. But the
17:54
Speaker 1: SDNY could even do that simple task and arrest Jeffrey
17:57
Speaker 1: Epstein and keep him in jail. The discovery of video
18:02
Speaker 1: footage and photos in Epstein's lairs, as well as victim's
18:05
Speaker 1: claims that he kept hidden cameras throughout his homes, has
18:08
Speaker 1: led to speculation about whether some video was recorded to
18:12
Speaker 1: blackmail rich and powerful friends. When Palm Beach cops raided
18:17
Speaker 1: Epstein's Florida mansion in two thousand and five, they discovered
18:21
Speaker 1: nude photographs of teen girls and turned the images over
18:24
Speaker 1: to the FBI and US Attorney's office. Before the bust, however,
18:29
Speaker 1: an assistant of Epstein's removed computers from the residents. So
18:33
Speaker 1: how did they get tipped off to the bust? How
18:34
Speaker 1: did they know that the jakes were coming to kick
18:37
Speaker 1: in the door and raid the house. They're not fortune
18:41
Speaker 1: tellers right over in the Epstein estate. They didn't know
18:43
Speaker 1: what was going to happen on their own. Somebody told them.
18:46
Speaker 1: Somebody called Jeffrey Epstein or his people and said to him, look, buddy,
18:51
Speaker 1: you're about to get raided. Get rid of all the
18:54
Speaker 1: evidence that you have. Now. The question is who was
18:57
Speaker 1: the person who tipped them off. There's no doubt that
18:59
Speaker 1: it had happened. We just don't know who the person is,
19:03
Speaker 1: inside the government or elsewhere who gave Jeffrey Epstein and
19:06
Speaker 1: his team the tip that led to him removing those
19:09
Speaker 1: computers before they were seized. The existence of loot images
19:13
Speaker 1: made news again in twenty nineteen, after the FEDS arrestedt
19:16
Speaker 1: Epstein for a trafficking dozens of underage girls in New York.
19:20
Speaker 1: At the time, the Manhattan US Attorney's Office announced that
19:24
Speaker 1: a search of his Upper east Side townhouse unearthed an
19:27
Speaker 1: extraordinary volume of photographs of nude and partially nude young
19:31
Speaker 1: women or girls. Some images were found inside a lock
19:35
Speaker 1: safe on CDs with labels such as girls, Picks, Nude,
19:39
Speaker 1: and miscellaneous nudes. Won so where all of these pictures
19:43
Speaker 1: and who was he sharing them with? And who else
19:45
Speaker 1: is in possession of these pictures. At Maxwell's criminal trial
19:50
Speaker 1: in late twenty twenty one, an FBI agent testified that
19:53
Speaker 1: authorities also discovered boxes of hard drives mysteriously covered in
19:58
Speaker 1: evidence tape that hadn't been played there by police. And
20:02
Speaker 1: when prosecutors showed jurors a video of Palm Beach police
20:06
Speaker 1: two thousand and five walkthrough of Epstein's home, the footage
20:09
Speaker 1: revealed the decor, including sexualized photos of underage girls and
20:14
Speaker 1: one photo of Epstein posing with a girl in her underwear.
20:18
Speaker 1: And remember all the people that went to Epstein's house,
20:21
Speaker 1: all these people that said they saw nothing heard nothing, Well,
20:24
Speaker 1: they saw these pictures, they saw all of this weird
20:27
Speaker 1: ass decor, and they still kept coming back. They still
20:30
Speaker 1: kept coming and breaking bread with Jeffrey Epstein and hanging
20:34
Speaker 1: out with them and covorting with them. So when they
20:36
Speaker 1: tell you they knew nothing, they saw nothing, they are
20:39
Speaker 1: lying to you. While the FBI did interview Farmer and
20:43
Speaker 1: other victims in two thousand and six, the case was
20:46
Speaker 1: scuttled by the Miami US Attorney's office after secret meetings
20:50
Speaker 1: with the high powered legal team. And once again, Acosta
20:54
Speaker 1: shares a bit of the blame here, but he's not
20:56
Speaker 1: the one who made the final decision that was made
20:59
Speaker 1: by Muquatz and the bosses in the office at the DOJ.
21:03
Speaker 1: I don't think people understand that alex Acosta was nothing
21:07
Speaker 1: more than a middle manager. And you see all of
21:09
Speaker 1: this hubbub about alex Acosta being the man who gave
21:13
Speaker 1: out the sweetheart deal. Well it was his signature on there,
21:16
Speaker 1: no doubt about it. And if he had a backbone
21:18
Speaker 1: and he was a real man, he would have stood
21:20
Speaker 1: up to his bosses. But he's none of that. He's
21:22
Speaker 1: a coward and a bitch. But he's not the only
21:24
Speaker 1: one responsible here. Back then, the FBI likely knew that
21:28
Speaker 1: Epstein had illicit recordings of children, according to a twenty
21:32
Speaker 1: twenty report by the Department of Justice's Office of Professional Responsibility,
21:37
Speaker 1: which examined Epstein's plea agreement and lack of notification to
21:41
Speaker 1: the victims. The document reveals that then Assistant US Attorney
21:46
Speaker 1: Marie Villafauna told OPR that the FBI had information that
21:51
Speaker 1: Epstein used hidden cameras in New York residences to record
21:54
Speaker 1: his sexual encounters, and one victim told agents that Epstein's
21:58
Speaker 1: assistant photograph in the nude villa. Fauna and other witnesses
22:03
Speaker 1: also told OPR that Epstein's computers might have contained child pornography.
22:09
Speaker 1: Opr's report noted the interstate transmission of child pornography was
22:13
Speaker 1: a separate and serious federal crime that could have changed
22:16
Speaker 1: the entire complexion of the case against Epstein. In her
22:21
Speaker 1: letter to the FBI, Freeman wrote, to date, law enforcement
22:25
Speaker 1: still is not seriously pursued possible See SAM crimes involving Epstein.
22:30
Speaker 1: Had law enforcement done their job, the Epstein trafficking and
22:33
Speaker 1: possible Sea SAM crimes could have been stopped. It is
22:36
Speaker 1: imperative to hold the FBI responsible for failing to investigate
22:40
Speaker 1: what happened to so many survivors, Freeman told The Daily
22:44
Speaker 1: Beast in an interview. Accountability is critical in order to
22:48
Speaker 1: ensure that this never happens again. And she's not wrong,
22:51
Speaker 1: but unfortunately there's not going to be any accountability. Nobody's
22:55
Speaker 1: gonna stand tall before the wagon for this, and things
22:58
Speaker 1: will just be what they've always been. Freeman and Farmer
23:02
Speaker 1: are pushing for a federal investigation into the FBI's handling
23:06
Speaker 1: of Epstein that could be similar to the probes into
23:09
Speaker 1: the agency's actions with regard to the Parkland shooting, Larry
23:12
Speaker 1: Nasser's sex abuse case, and Charleston church massacre. Last year,
23:17
Speaker 1: family for the victims of the twenty eighteen high school
23:20
Speaker 1: shooting in Parkland, Florida, reached a one hundred and twenty
23:24
Speaker 1: seven and a half million dollar settlement with the US
23:26
Speaker 1: government in connection to the FBI's failure to follow up
23:30
Speaker 1: on a tip about the gunman. A month after the shooting,
23:33
Speaker 1: the FBI released a public statement about its own investigation
23:37
Speaker 1: into the bureau's lack of response. In twenty twenty one,
23:42
Speaker 1: DOJ Inspector Horowitz issued a report revealing FBI officials failed
23:47
Speaker 1: to respond to accusations against Naser, the disgraced US gymnastics
23:50
Speaker 1: team doctor, leading to the sexual abuse of seventy more
23:54
Speaker 1: young athletes. Months later, the Justice Department settled with the
23:58
Speaker 1: families of victims of the Charleston, South Carolina church shooting.
24:02
Speaker 1: After the incident, the FBI published the statement about the
24:05
Speaker 1: lapses in its background check system that led to the
24:08
Speaker 1: white supremacist gunman's purchase of a weapon. Much like the Parkland,
24:13
Speaker 1: Nassaer and Charleston Church cases. Government agencies have a responsibility
24:18
Speaker 1: to investigate and explain why the FBI failed for a
24:21
Speaker 1: quarter of a century to properly investigate miss Farmers and
24:25
Speaker 1: others repeated allegations of Epstein's abuse. Freeman wrote, and I
24:30
Speaker 1: think at the very least they should have to answer
24:32
Speaker 1: those questions, where's Congress? Where Senate? How come there's no hearings?
24:36
Speaker 1: Demanding accountability. The letter highlights some of Epstein's prior entanglements
24:41
Speaker 1: with the government and alleged financial misconduct, including a regulation
24:45
Speaker 1: deviolation while working at bear Stearns. Curiously, Epstein was known
24:50
Speaker 1: and tied to federal authorities for decades, often in connection
24:54
Speaker 1: with suspicious and the legal activities, Freeman wrote, referring to
24:58
Speaker 1: his ties with Steve Hoffenber, a former business partner who
25:02
Speaker 1: in nineteen ninety five was convicted in a massive Ponzi scheme,
25:06
Speaker 1: and Epstein's nineteen ninety two rental of a Manhattan townhouse
25:10
Speaker 1: that had been controlled by the State Department. There has
25:13
Speaker 1: been rampant speculation for years that Epstein was a confidential informant,
25:17
Speaker 1: Freeman wrote, adding that Epstein told colleagues and friends that
25:21
Speaker 1: he was an intelligence asset. Then you look at what's
25:24
Speaker 1: going on now with Burns, and it all really makes sense. Right.
25:27
Speaker 1: I'm sure people out there will continue to deny it
25:30
Speaker 1: for whatever reason, but the fact is this, folks, Epstein
25:33
Speaker 1: was being protected and Epstein was also being run as
25:37
Speaker 1: an asset. Indeed, Epstein's prominent connections continue to be revealed.
25:42
Speaker 1: On Sunday, The Wall Street Journal reported that William Burns,
25:46
Speaker 1: now the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, held meetings
25:50
Speaker 1: with Epstein in twenty fourteen when he was Deputy Secretary
25:53
Speaker 1: of State. Others who have hobnob with Epstein in recent
25:57
Speaker 1: years include former White House Council Golden Sachs, top lawyer
26:01
Speaker 1: Katherine Rumler, linguist Noam Chomsky, and ariy Anne de Rothschild,
26:06
Speaker 1: the head of the Swiss private bank, whom Epstein reported
26:09
Speaker 1: he asks for help in finding new female assistants. Oh,
26:12
Speaker 1: I'm sure that that was just all mundane too. A
26:16
Speaker 1: CIA spokeswoman said Burns and Epstein had no relationship and
26:20
Speaker 1: had only met him twice, while a Goldman spokesman said
26:24
Speaker 1: Rumler never flew on Epstein's plane or visited his private
26:28
Speaker 1: Island and didn't see anything concerning at his townhouse. No,
26:31
Speaker 1: what about those pictures? What about the picture of Bill
26:34
Speaker 1: Clinton in address? None of that stuff's concerning. Huh. So
26:37
Speaker 1: that says a lot more about Rumler than anything else,
26:40
Speaker 1: in my opinion. Chomsky told the journal that he met
26:44
Speaker 1: with Epstein to discuss political or academic topics, and at
26:48
Speaker 1: the time, what was known about Jeffrey Epstein was that
26:51
Speaker 1: he had been convicted of a crime and that he
26:53
Speaker 1: served his sentence according to US laws and norms that
26:57
Speaker 1: yields a clean slate. A spokesperson for de rothschilds Bank
27:01
Speaker 1: said she was unaware of any questions regarding his personal
27:04
Speaker 1: conduct and that she feels for and supports his victims. Again,
27:08
Speaker 1: I had no idea. You really mean to tell me
27:11
Speaker 1: Epstein was a scumbag. I didn't know that. And remember,
27:15
Speaker 1: these are all the smartest people in the room, folks. Okay,
27:17
Speaker 1: these aren't people who aren't media savvy. These aren't people
27:20
Speaker 1: who aren't reading the news. That's all they do. But
27:23
Speaker 1: they had no idea who Jeffrey Epstein was. In twenty eighteen,
27:28
Speaker 1: the Miami Herald reported that it obtained documents showing Epstein
27:32
Speaker 1: provided unspecified information to the government as part of his
27:36
Speaker 1: two thousand and eight plea deal, and that he was
27:38
Speaker 1: allegedly a key witness in the prosecution of two bear
27:42
Speaker 1: Stearns executives. Months later, however, Fox Business sided sources who
27:46
Speaker 1: denied Epstein was such a witness. There is strong, circumstantial
27:50
Speaker 1: evidence in the public domain that Epstein's special relationship with
27:54
Speaker 1: the government explains the FBI's failure to investigate or prosecute
27:59
Speaker 1: Epstein in nineteen ninety six, the special treatment he received
28:03
Speaker 1: from two thousand and five to two thousand and eight,
28:05
Speaker 1: and the failure to investigate the possible wrongdoings of important
28:09
Speaker 1: public officials and powerful businessman. Freeman wrote, she isn't the
28:14
Speaker 1: only one to emphasize the FBI's apparent decision to overlook Epstein.
28:19
Speaker 1: In twenty twenty, ABC News reported that a woman who
28:22
Speaker 1: was abused by Epstein in New York and whose accusations
28:25
Speaker 1: were crucial to his Manhattan indictment, was questioned by the
28:29
Speaker 1: FBI in Florida more than a decade before, before she
28:32
Speaker 1: could testify to a grand jury. Epstein secretly inked his
28:36
Speaker 1: non prosecution agreement, and the federal investigation, died. I certainly
28:40
Speaker 1: think with the FBI's capabilities even back then, that they
28:43
Speaker 1: could have unraveled the entire network from New York to
28:46
Speaker 1: Paris to New Mexico. Spencer Couven, an attorney who represented
28:51
Speaker 1: three of Epstein's accusers in Florida, told ABC at the
28:54
Speaker 1: time the potential was always there. Couven said, the government
28:58
Speaker 1: shut this thing down and played this thing out before
29:01
Speaker 1: going through and talking to probably more than half the
29:03
Speaker 1: women that were involved in the whole thing. Had they
29:06
Speaker 1: conducted a full investigation and taken their time, this would
29:10
Speaker 1: have been a whole different story. And he is not
29:13
Speaker 1: wrong about any of that. But we have history to
29:16
Speaker 1: tell us the government does not want a robust look
29:20
Speaker 1: at what happened here. Sure, they'll give us a little
29:22
Speaker 1: red meat, they'll give us Glan Maxwell, But what about
29:25
Speaker 1: everybody else? What about all of the enablers, What about
29:28
Speaker 1: all of the people engaging in the abuse, and what
29:31
Speaker 1: about all of the people providing political protection and legal
29:35
Speaker 1: protection for Epstein and his buddies throughout the years. Are
29:39
Speaker 1: those folks ever going to get exposed? I highly doubt it.
29:42
Speaker 1: They had their chance during the Glen Maxwell trial and
29:45
Speaker 1: they didn't do it, So hopefully this new action here,
29:48
Speaker 1: taken by Maria Farmer, the other survivors and their new lawyers,
29:52
Speaker 1: forces the FBI's hand and forces them to come clean
29:56
Speaker 1: about their obvious failure when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein.
30:00
Speaker 1: All right, folks, that's gonna do it for this one.
30:03
Speaker 1: All of the information that goes with the episode can
30:05
Speaker 1: be found in the description box. What's up, everyone, and
30:10
Speaker 1: welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles. In today's episode, we're
30:14
Speaker 1: gonna hear from Epstein's survivor, Elizabeth Stein, who is calling
30:19
Speaker 1: for accountability from the people who are being named in
30:22
Speaker 1: this document dump, and she's also calling for accountability within
30:26
Speaker 1: the FBI. So let's dive into this article from the
30:29
Speaker 1: Daily Mail and let's see what Elizabeth Stein and her
30:33
Speaker 1: lawyer have to say. This article was published by the
30:36
Speaker 1: Deli Mail and the headline Jeffrey Epstein survivor Elizabeth Stein
30:40
Speaker 1: calls for people named in re traumatizing document dump to
30:44
Speaker 1: speak up as lawyer threatens to sue the FBI for
30:47
Speaker 1: ignoring complaints of another victim. And how many times do
30:50
Speaker 1: we have to hear that story about the FBI when
30:52
Speaker 1: it comes to Jeffrey Epstein. These guys are out here
30:56
Speaker 1: acting like nothing happened, like everything's all good, and literally
31:00
Speaker 1: aren't hundreds of women out there and girls who were abused,
31:04
Speaker 1: And it's just baffling to me. You would think that
31:07
Speaker 1: they'd be all over it, right. Usually if they sink
31:09
Speaker 1: their teeth into something, meaning the Feds forget it. And
31:12
Speaker 1: we all know taking down people like Epstein and Maxwell
31:15
Speaker 1: and their friends, that's the kind of shit that prosecutors
31:18
Speaker 1: build careers on. But for some reason, there's no prosecutors
31:22
Speaker 1: here that have the courage to go after Epstein and
31:25
Speaker 1: his garbage ass friends. And it's crazy to see that.
31:28
Speaker 1: Keith Ray Neary he gets ricoed R Kelly, he gets
31:32
Speaker 1: ricoed young thug rico Donald Trump down there in Atlanta,
31:35
Speaker 1: down in Georgia, he gets recoded. No RICO for Glenn Maxwell, though, huh,
31:39
Speaker 1: I wonder why what are they hiding and what was
31:42
Speaker 1: the FBI attempting to hide. That's a question everybody should have.
31:47
Speaker 1: The unfortunate part is we'll probably never have a legitimate
31:51
Speaker 1: answer because we know that the FBI has no desire
31:54
Speaker 1: to be transparent when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein. This
31:58
Speaker 1: article was authored by Alex Hammer, a survivor of Jeffrey
32:03
Speaker 1: Epstein's sex trafficking ring, has detailed her reaction to this
32:07
Speaker 1: month's re traumatizing document dump, which has her lawyer already
32:11
Speaker 1: airing plans to sue the FBI. And I think that's
32:14
Speaker 1: a good idea, just like the gymnasts are gonna sue
32:17
Speaker 1: the FBI over Larry Nasser. I think that all of
32:20
Speaker 1: the Epstein survivors should get together sue the FBI, and
32:23
Speaker 1: especially sue the USV I like they're doing. How many
32:27
Speaker 1: times have I said that in the past four years?
32:29
Speaker 1: The United States Virgin Islands. They are hip deep in
32:33
Speaker 1: Epstein's bullshit and the fact that they got one single
32:35
Speaker 1: dollar is just bonkers to me. Bonkers. Then you have
32:39
Speaker 1: the FBI over here that has no problem going after
32:42
Speaker 1: their political opponents. But if you're a part of Jeffrey
32:44
Speaker 1: Epstein's criminal enterprise, forget it. You're all good, no worries.
32:49
Speaker 1: Joined by attorney Jennifer Freeman, Elizabeth Stein said she was
32:52
Speaker 1: also suing Glane Maxwell and the late sex pest estate
32:56
Speaker 1: after reading an impact statement at the Socialite sentencing that
32:59
Speaker 1: claim she was a student when Maxwell approached her. Speaking
33:03
Speaker 1: to lawng Crime, she provided a similar account of how
33:06
Speaker 1: she was allegedly thrust into Epstein's sordid syndicate, before detailing
33:11
Speaker 1: how the document release has impacted her and others who
33:15
Speaker 1: have come forward. And look, there is no doubt that
33:18
Speaker 1: it's re traumatizing. But what's really frustrating for people, survivors included,
33:23
Speaker 1: is when this stuff pops up and then there's no action.
33:27
Speaker 1: You get all of this new information, well new to
33:29
Speaker 1: the masses anyway, but there's never any action that follows it. Oh,
33:33
Speaker 1: there's some outrage, right, there's people saying that there needs
33:36
Speaker 1: to be justice, but there never is. The FBI is
33:39
Speaker 1: never held accountable. Nobody in power lost their job, right, Hell,
33:42
Speaker 1: nobody at the lockup where Epstein allegedly killed himself ended
33:47
Speaker 1: up facing any real repercussions. Oh, people lost their job.
33:50
Speaker 1: People had to, you know, get some charges thrown against
33:53
Speaker 1: them that were dropped. But has there ever been any
33:55
Speaker 1: real accountability here? There has not. She called the release
33:58
Speaker 1: and subsequent lack of action triggering but necessary if those involved,
34:02
Speaker 1: apart from Maxwell, are ever to be held accountable. Freeman
34:06
Speaker 1: meanwhile unveiled her plans to sue the US's foremost federal
34:10
Speaker 1: law enforcement agency, claiming they ignored reports from another Epstein
34:14
Speaker 1: accuser and that the government knew what the financier you mean,
34:17
Speaker 1: pedophile was doing and they allowed it. Look, I'm on
34:20
Speaker 1: board with that, and I think that's exactly what happened.
34:23
Speaker 1: I don't know who allowed it, right, I can't look
34:26
Speaker 1: at you and say so and so from the FBI
34:29
Speaker 1: was involved in all of this. But do you really
34:32
Speaker 1: think that they don't have operations that they're running in
34:34
Speaker 1: the black where none of us are even hipped to
34:38
Speaker 1: what's going on. Because that's how intelligence works. There's a
34:41
Speaker 1: lot of stuff going on in the background right now
34:43
Speaker 1: that none of us are aware of. That. I'm sure
34:46
Speaker 1: a lot of us would be sickened by, but that's
34:48
Speaker 1: how this all works. And then if they get nailed,
34:51
Speaker 1: if they get in trouble, they'll just have plausible deniability.
34:54
Speaker 1: They'll burn their asset like they did Epstein. They'll burn
34:57
Speaker 1: their asset like they did Maxwell, and they'll keep it moving.
35:00
Speaker 1: I mean, this scheme was old when Jesus was young.
35:03
Speaker 1: The conversation began when host Jesse Weber asked Stein how
35:07
Speaker 1: she feels now that more than one hundred previously redacted
35:11
Speaker 1: names on a long settled lawsuit against Maxwell from fellow
35:15
Speaker 1: survivor of Virginia Roberts have been made public. To that,
35:18
Speaker 1: the woman who claims that she was assaulted, raped, and
35:21
Speaker 1: trafficked countless times over the course of a three year period, replied,
35:25
Speaker 1: I think that, you know, one of the pieces that
35:28
Speaker 1: we really haven't heard about in the media is what
35:30
Speaker 1: the impact is on the survivors, And that's something we
35:33
Speaker 1: talk about all the time. This is not easy for them.
35:36
Speaker 1: You know, for most people they're reading about this, it's
35:39
Speaker 1: a name on a page. Real people are living through this,
35:42
Speaker 1: Real people are living with this baggage weighing them down
35:46
Speaker 1: on a day to day. So when the stuff gets
35:48
Speaker 1: brought back up in the media and there's no repercussions
35:51
Speaker 1: for the people who were involved, that has to be triggering.
35:54
Speaker 1: It has to be frustrating, and I would definitely be
35:56
Speaker 1: looking for some sort of relief. And if that's suing
35:59
Speaker 1: the federal government, then so be it. I think that
36:02
Speaker 1: you know, all of us who have come forward and
36:04
Speaker 1: told our stories, it's taken a lot, you know, it
36:07
Speaker 1: takes a lot for a person to talk about the
36:10
Speaker 1: worst things that ever happened to them, she continued. She
36:13
Speaker 1: went on to explain why trying the nitty gritty of
36:16
Speaker 1: details in Robert's suit, which was settled out of court
36:19
Speaker 1: in two thousand and seven, to certain names is important,
36:22
Speaker 1: claiming that without them, the public will never know the
36:25
Speaker 1: true extent of Epstein's and others crimes. And she's not
36:29
Speaker 1: wrong about that. This all ads receipts right. Like I've
36:32
Speaker 1: said before, this ads receipts to the top of the
36:35
Speaker 1: pile where the unsullied, meaning people who have no idea
36:38
Speaker 1: what they're looking at, can take a look and say,
36:40
Speaker 1: oh shit, this isn't just all salacious, This isn't just
36:43
Speaker 1: made up. There are court documents backing all of this up.
36:47
Speaker 1: So what's the real here? And then once people start
36:50
Speaker 1: taking a look at what really went down and the
36:52
Speaker 1: real accounts of the survivors, inevitably the vast majority of
36:56
Speaker 1: people who look at that know that something was fucked up.
37:00
Speaker 1: I don't just mean by Jeffrey Epstein and his disgusting friends.
37:03
Speaker 1: I mean by all the people that were supposed to
37:05
Speaker 1: stop them, all the people that were in power to
37:07
Speaker 1: stop them, and all the people like those at the
37:10
Speaker 1: FBI who refused to stop them to some extent, I
37:14
Speaker 1: think that you were able to. I don't want to
37:16
Speaker 1: say control the public narrative, because that's not what I mean.
37:20
Speaker 1: But I think when you tell your story, you're telling
37:22
Speaker 1: your general story without all of the details Stein said,
37:26
Speaker 1: And it's important to have context. And we live in
37:28
Speaker 1: a world where people want that context right. People want receipts,
37:32
Speaker 1: people want information that backs up the story because there
37:36
Speaker 1: is so much misinformation out there, and there are so
37:38
Speaker 1: many misinformation pedlars that you have to be very cautious
37:42
Speaker 1: of what you're being told. But when it comes to
37:44
Speaker 1: people like Jeffrey Epstein and Gallaine Maxwell and all these
37:48
Speaker 1: women with the same stories, I'm here to tell you
37:51
Speaker 1: this shit happened, and all of these disgusting animals who
37:54
Speaker 1: took part need to be held accountable one way or
37:57
Speaker 1: the other. And I think that one of the things
37:59
Speaker 1: that we need to consider is that this document release
38:02
Speaker 1: is a release of all the intimate details of these
38:05
Speaker 1: survivors' experiences. So while people might know what these women
38:09
Speaker 1: are survivors, they might not know, you know, the minutia
38:12
Speaker 1: of what their experience was and while it's painful, and
38:16
Speaker 1: while it's disgusting, and while none of us want to
38:18
Speaker 1: hear it, and believe me when I tell you, I
38:20
Speaker 1: do not want to read it on air, I believe
38:22
Speaker 1: it's important for everybody to have a whole faithful of
38:25
Speaker 1: what really went on, not a passive version, not a
38:30
Speaker 1: version that's retold through the eyes of a journalist, but
38:33
Speaker 1: straight from the source, right from the survivors, and right
38:36
Speaker 1: from their own depositions. And I think that it's important
38:39
Speaker 1: to remember that it's re traumatizing to survivors, she continued.
38:43
Speaker 1: You know, it's one thing to have public know generally
38:46
Speaker 1: that you're the survivor of human trafficking. She added, it's
38:49
Speaker 1: another thing to have them know the very gory details
38:52
Speaker 1: and the most intimate secrets of your life. She went
38:55
Speaker 1: on to concede that while having such details available to
38:59
Speaker 1: the greater public is really difficult, it provides a solution
39:02
Speaker 1: for what she said has been missing from the Epstein
39:05
Speaker 1: conversation until now. The survivor's voice the most important part.
39:10
Speaker 1: I don't know how many times I've had to say it.
39:12
Speaker 1: And believe me, I'm not some believe all women activists,
39:15
Speaker 1: you all know that by now I follow the truth
39:18
Speaker 1: wherever it goes, and the truth when it comes to
39:21
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein is fucking disgusting. It's what is the impact
39:26
Speaker 1: on us? And for a lot of us, you know,
39:28
Speaker 1: Stein said, this is a sex trafficking ring that went
39:31
Speaker 1: on for decades, and all of the survivors are at
39:34
Speaker 1: various places in their recovery. That's true too. Not everybody
39:38
Speaker 1: is going to recover at the same rate. Some people
39:41
Speaker 1: recovered quickly. Other people are going to carry this the
39:43
Speaker 1: rest of their lives, even if they get the best
39:45
Speaker 1: therapy in the history of therapy. And that's because the
39:49
Speaker 1: abuse was so prolonged and it was so egregious, she added.
39:54
Speaker 1: And to be bombarded by this constantly in the news
39:57
Speaker 1: and to feel the invalidation that nothing really is be
40:00
Speaker 1: being done about it is consistently triggering to the victims.
40:03
Speaker 1: The conversation at that point hovered around the potential ethical
40:07
Speaker 1: and legal implications of the recent document release, which Freeman
40:11
Speaker 1: explained likely would have gone unnoticed if it was still
40:14
Speaker 1: an ongoing litigation between two people. If it were a
40:18
Speaker 1: private deposition, She said, other accusers might not have known
40:21
Speaker 1: that the details were going to be released. She went
40:25
Speaker 1: on to offer a theory as to why Epstein's crimes
40:27
Speaker 1: one unnoticed for so many years, one that involved another
40:30
Speaker 1: one of her clients, in Maria Farmer, the first to
40:33
Speaker 1: file a formal complaint against Epstein and the Federal Bureau
40:37
Speaker 1: of Investigation. The Bureau was the agency that Farmer, a
40:41
Speaker 1: visual artist based in New York who was diagnosed with
40:44
Speaker 1: a fatal brain tumor in twenty nineteen, contacted in nineteen
40:48
Speaker 1: ninety six and again in two thousand and six to
40:51
Speaker 1: report how she was Her then fifteen year old sister
40:55
Speaker 1: had been allegedly sexually assaulted by Epstein and Maxwell in
40:58
Speaker 1: separate locations in nineteen ninety six. The FBI never made
41:03
Speaker 1: an arrest, a decision Freeman called dubious at best. So
41:06
Speaker 1: it's cool to traffic women, it's cool to traffic kids.
41:09
Speaker 1: But if you have a gambling shop, forget it. You're
41:12
Speaker 1: gonna get gneld. They're gonna come in, kick in your
41:14
Speaker 1: door six am, drag you out in front of all
41:16
Speaker 1: of your neighbors, the whole thing. But if you're Jeffrey Epstein,
41:20
Speaker 1: they'll give you a call and then they'll meet you
41:22
Speaker 1: at the tarmac at Teeterborough, and they'll arrest you without
41:25
Speaker 1: any pomp and circumstance. But you or I forget it.
41:28
Speaker 1: They're gonna drag you out of the house, make you
41:30
Speaker 1: look like fucking Hannibal Lecter and embarrass you. But not Maxwell,
41:35
Speaker 1: not Epstein. And that's your FBI folks. In a nutshell,
41:39
Speaker 1: I filed what's called a notice of claim, which is
41:41
Speaker 1: a statutory prerequisite to bringing a claim against a federal
41:45
Speaker 1: agency like the FBI. She explained, we will be filing
41:48
Speaker 1: a lawsuit in the near future against the FBI to
41:52
Speaker 1: find out why when Maria Farmer reported Epstein in Maxwell
41:56
Speaker 1: and others in nineteen ninety six, the FBI did nothing,
42:00
Speaker 1: And then why in two thousand and six when she
42:02
Speaker 1: reported again they did nothing. Referencing Roberts, whose alleged plight
42:06
Speaker 1: at the hands of Epstein lasted from nineteen ninety nine
42:09
Speaker 1: to two thousand and two, Freeman went on, and why
42:12
Speaker 1: was another of our client's trafficked at the very time
42:15
Speaker 1: that he was supposedly Epstein was supposedly being investigated in Florida,
42:20
Speaker 1: Yet she was trafficked in New York and on his island.
42:24
Speaker 1: She concluded, after US District Judge Loretta Presca's fifty one
42:27
Speaker 1: page order last month revealed how Roberts previously alleged she
42:31
Speaker 1: was forced to have sex with the Duke of York
42:34
Speaker 1: three times at the behest of both Epstein and Maxwell
42:37
Speaker 1: in London, New York, and on his private Caribbean island.
42:40
Speaker 1: How could this happen under the FBI's nose, the attorney
42:44
Speaker 1: at this point asked, citing Stein's similar replight that she
42:47
Speaker 1: claims took place in New York in Florida between ninety
42:50
Speaker 1: four and ninety seven. We have lots of theories, she
42:54
Speaker 1: went on, but we would really love to be able
42:56
Speaker 1: to get the information to understand what really happened here.
43:00
Speaker 1: Did they just not care about these young girls, or
43:03
Speaker 1: was there some kind of This is just an allegation
43:06
Speaker 1: confidential relationship with Epstein, so the government knew what he
43:09
Speaker 1: was doing and allowed it because he was serving some
43:12
Speaker 1: function for the government. We just don't know, she admitted.
43:15
Speaker 1: And look, there's a lot of truth to that. I
43:17
Speaker 1: can't sit here and one hundred percent surely point you
43:20
Speaker 1: in the direction of the evidence. But when you look
43:23
Speaker 1: at how everything broke, and you look at Jeffrey Epstein
43:26
Speaker 1: not getting nailed ever for anything he was ever up to,
43:29
Speaker 1: including what happened at Bears and Stearns. Well, it's not
43:32
Speaker 1: very difficult to deduce that Epstein was working for the government.
43:37
Speaker 1: And when I say that, I don't mean he was
43:39
Speaker 1: in the CIA, I don't mean that he was actually
43:42
Speaker 1: on the payroll. But like Whitey Bulger or like any
43:45
Speaker 1: informant that they cultivate, don't think for a minute that
43:48
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein being a child molester is out of bounds
43:52
Speaker 1: for our intelligence services. They're in bed with all kinds
43:56
Speaker 1: of scumbags, folks. I hate to break the news to
43:58
Speaker 1: you right now as we they're in bed with a
44:01
Speaker 1: bunch of scumbags. They let Sammy the Bolgravano out of
44:04
Speaker 1: prison after he admitted to nineteen murders. That's how bad
44:08
Speaker 1: they wanted to get John Gottie. So if you think
44:11
Speaker 1: they won't get into bed with Jeffrey Epstein, you're sorely mistaken.
44:16
Speaker 1: Citing the Reason document dump as sort of a first
44:18
Speaker 1: step to securing this sort of knowledge, Freeman said, it's
44:22
Speaker 1: really hard to know without litigation, without having the facts,
44:25
Speaker 1: getting to the bottom of what really happened and for
44:28
Speaker 1: anybody who needed a crash course in you know, litigation,
44:31
Speaker 1: she added, clearly, seeing this litigation between Maxwell and Roberts,
44:35
Speaker 1: you see how much information can actually come up. And
44:38
Speaker 1: this is true. The only way we're ever going to
44:41
Speaker 1: get to the bottom of what happened is through litigation,
44:44
Speaker 1: because none of these people are gonna come forward on
44:46
Speaker 1: their own, so they have to be compelled. In the
44:49
Speaker 1: settled filing, Roberts accuses Maxwell of helping Epstein trafficker as
44:53
Speaker 1: a miner before naming various influential figures allegedly involved. Presca's
44:58
Speaker 1: fifty one page order issued on December eighteenth, unmasked one
45:01
Speaker 1: hundred and eighty four of those figures, previously listed as
45:05
Speaker 1: either John or Jane Does, leading to a litany of discoveries.
45:09
Speaker 1: Its release has been highly anticipated, as had many alleged
45:13
Speaker 1: they were being withheld from the public eye. After the
45:16
Speaker 1: lawsuit was settled out of court in twenty seventeen, Republicans
45:20
Speaker 1: in Congress have since fought for its release, including the
45:23
Speaker 1: names of powerful friends and acquaintances of the pedophile who
45:27
Speaker 1: flew on his private jet. Maxwell meanwhile been sentenced to
45:31
Speaker 1: twenty years in prison for sex trafficking as part of
45:34
Speaker 1: a separate criminal case at the age of sixty two.
45:37
Speaker 1: And as far as the lawmakers trying to get information, look,
45:42
Speaker 1: don't just talk the talk, walk the walk. But now
45:44
Speaker 1: that they've said it, as I said previously, I plan
45:47
Speaker 1: on holding them accountable. So if you think that Marshall
45:50
Speaker 1: Blackburn's getting off easy, now you have another thing coming.
45:53
Speaker 1: I will be contacting her office and making sure that
45:56
Speaker 1: they follow through. One of them was Prince Anne, who
46:00
Speaker 1: was named in a separate suit filed by her that
46:02
Speaker 1: was also settled, but appeared again in the unredacted lawsuit.
46:06
Speaker 1: A total of fifteen others were accused of serious wrongdoing.
46:09
Speaker 1: Well ninety were described as having been affiliated with Epstein
46:13
Speaker 1: in some way. So everybody who was accused of serious
46:16
Speaker 1: wrongdoing there needs to be a robust investigation. I can't
46:20
Speaker 1: believe I even have to say that that should just
46:21
Speaker 1: be basic common knowledge. But not for the FBI, I
46:25
Speaker 1: guess Meanwhile, Stein read an impact statement at the socialized
46:29
Speaker 1: sentencing saying she was a student when Maxwell approached her
46:33
Speaker 1: and brought her into the syndicate. I was assaulted, raped,
46:37
Speaker 1: and traffic countless times in New York and Florida during
46:40
Speaker 1: a three year period, Stein said in court, adding that
46:43
Speaker 1: she at one point became pregnant and had an abortion.
46:46
Speaker 1: She seeks damages in a lawsuit filed Wednesday, which names
46:50
Speaker 1: two executors for Epstein's estate along with Maxwell. In nineteen
46:54
Speaker 1: ninety two, when Stein was a teenager attending Fashion Institute
46:58
Speaker 1: of Technology, she again interning at the now defunct Henry
47:02
Speaker 1: Bendell department store. So another person at FIT. We've been
47:06
Speaker 1: going through the Sarah Ransom deposition. And that was the
47:09
Speaker 1: promise that Epstein and Maxwell made her. Right, Oh, we'll
47:12
Speaker 1: get you into FIT. So again another one of these
47:16
Speaker 1: institutions that pops up over and over and over again.
47:19
Speaker 1: So is anybody gonna ask FIT how many other girls
47:22
Speaker 1: might have been pulled out of their school? I mean,
47:25
Speaker 1: come on, this is basic investigatory work. About two years
47:30
Speaker 1: into the job, when she was twenty one, Maxwell approached her,
47:33
Speaker 1: according to the criminal complaint. As Maxwell shopped, she allegedly
47:37
Speaker 1: claimed that her colleague was close friends with Les Wexner,
47:41
Speaker 1: former CEO of Victoria's Secret who's retelling and marketing Conglomoradi
47:46
Speaker 1: once owned Henry Bendel. So again another tie that binds.
47:50
Speaker 1: How many times are we going to see Victoria's secret?
47:52
Speaker 1: How many times we're going to see Les Wexner's name again?
47:55
Speaker 1: Another guy that's escaped accountability. What we're gonna forget? What
47:59
Speaker 1: Maria told us that she was held on the Epstein
48:03
Speaker 1: property that's located on Wexner's property in New Albany, and
48:06
Speaker 1: she wasn't allowed to leave by Wexner's team of security.
48:09
Speaker 1: I guess I have to repost that interview with Maria
48:12
Speaker 1: that I had a little while back. The complaint states
48:16
Speaker 1: that Maxwell later asked Stein to deliver her purchases to
48:19
Speaker 1: the Saint Regis on Fifth Avenue. There, the concierge director
48:23
Speaker 1: to the bar where Maxwell and Epstein were drinking. Stein
48:27
Speaker 1: joined Maxwell and Epstein in a hotel room to deliver
48:30
Speaker 1: the packages. The pair allegedly changed into monogram bathrobes before
48:35
Speaker 1: asking about Stein's personal and sex life. They allegedly began
48:39
Speaker 1: kissing and touching each other before asking if Stein had
48:43
Speaker 1: ever participated in a threesome. Imagine Egg Dick and Cruela
48:46
Speaker 1: Deville trying to recruit you into a threesome. I'd rather
48:49
Speaker 1: spend a week being tortured by the Taliban Maxwell then
48:53
Speaker 1: encouraged Stein to join them and assured her it would
48:56
Speaker 1: be fun. The complaint reads, as Stein was hesitant and
48:59
Speaker 1: afraid of Epstein or Maxwell hurting her physically and professionally,
49:03
Speaker 1: she complied. At one point, Stein allegedly asked to stop
49:06
Speaker 1: and was ignored. The duo relented after she said her
49:09
Speaker 1: then boyfriend was on his way home, but as she
49:12
Speaker 1: headed out, Epstein handed her cash and stated it was
49:15
Speaker 1: a tip, the complaint reads, and that exactly right, there
49:19
Speaker 1: was what he would do now in his mind, she's
49:22
Speaker 1: a prostitute and he paid her for her services, so
49:24
Speaker 1: it's not assault. And you know what, the sad truth
49:27
Speaker 1: is a lot of people bought that bs when he
49:29
Speaker 1: pitched it. Steinfelt confused, betrayed, humiliated, and completely violated by
49:35
Speaker 1: the gesture. What followed was a three year nightmare, according
49:39
Speaker 1: to the complaint. In nineteen ninety four, Stein was asked
49:42
Speaker 1: to be an assistant manager at Henry Bendel, but she
49:45
Speaker 1: declined the role to focus on her schooling. Months later,
49:48
Speaker 1: Maxwell called Stein furious that she turned down the job
49:51
Speaker 1: offer that Maxwell and Depstein were involved in securing. The
49:55
Speaker 1: complaint says Stein took a job at Bloomingdell's after graduation,
49:59
Speaker 1: but Maxwell allegedly came in a few months later and
50:02
Speaker 1: befriended her again. In the fall of nineteen ninety five,
50:06
Speaker 1: Maxwell invited Stein over to Epstein's home for a dinner party,
50:09
Speaker 1: where Stein was brought to her room with a massage table.
50:13
Speaker 1: According to the complaint, she was made to engage in
50:15
Speaker 1: sexual acts with others in the room. Months later, Maxwell
50:19
Speaker 1: allegedly invited Stein to a New Year's Eve party at
50:23
Speaker 1: the Waldorf Astoria and brought her addressed to wear. Stein
50:27
Speaker 1: later learned that her date was Maxwell and Epstein, who
50:31
Speaker 1: allegedly told her to have sex with them. When she resisted,
50:34
Speaker 1: the duo became physically aggressive, made fun of her for
50:38
Speaker 1: taking the subway to the party, and said they were
50:40
Speaker 1: going to show her what a train really is tonight.
50:43
Speaker 1: Epstein then raped her vaginally Annalie and or Lee while
50:46
Speaker 1: Maxwell held her down, The complaint says. Afterwards, Stein was
50:50
Speaker 1: allegedly raped by an unknown man as she was restrained
50:53
Speaker 1: by Maxwell and Epstein before they all went downstairs. The
50:57
Speaker 1: complaint states that Stein left after she started vomiting. To
51:01
Speaker 1: make up for the New Year's sexual assault, Maxwell invited
51:04
Speaker 1: Stein on a Florida vacation. The complaint alleges in Florida,
51:08
Speaker 1: Stein was taken to Epstein's Pombeach home, where she was
51:12
Speaker 1: sexually assaulted by the pool while other guests watched. According
51:15
Speaker 1: to the complaint, Stein began to resist the abuse, which
51:18
Speaker 1: resulted in her being punished. She was allegedly barred from
51:22
Speaker 1: leaving Florida for several days, which led to her being
51:25
Speaker 1: fired from her job. After returning home, she learned she
51:29
Speaker 1: had gotten pregnant and was allegedly forced by Maxwell to
51:33
Speaker 1: get an abortion. The duo continued stalking her with repeated
51:37
Speaker 1: phone calls and cabled messages tour. The complaint reads. Stein
51:41
Speaker 1: first attended Maxwell's trial in twenty twenty one, watching the
51:45
Speaker 1: proceedings as a member of the public. She returned to
51:48
Speaker 1: Manhattan for the heiresses sentencing in June twenty twenty two
51:52
Speaker 1: and read a victim impact statement describing the events as
51:55
Speaker 1: so traumatizing that to this day, I'm unable to speak
51:58
Speaker 1: about them. She said at Epstein and Maxwell terrified her
52:02
Speaker 1: and threatened to kill her if she told anyone what
52:04
Speaker 1: they did. And again, look, all of that tracks with
52:07
Speaker 1: how Maxwell and Epstein conducted themselves. They most certainly used
52:11
Speaker 1: threats of violence. They told Maria Farmer that they knew
52:14
Speaker 1: where she jogged and that something bad would happen to her.
52:17
Speaker 1: So it's not like this is something new. Epstein was
52:20
Speaker 1: found dead in his jail cell in twenty nineteen as
52:23
Speaker 1: he awaited trial. His death was ruled a suicide. Maxwell
52:27
Speaker 1: was convicted two years later and sentenced to twenty years imprisonment.
52:31
Speaker 1: She earned the Moniker Prison Karen at FCI Tallahassee in
52:35
Speaker 1: Florida after filing over four hundred complaints about prison conditions.
52:39
Speaker 1: And that's why I call her the Lady of complain.
52:42
Speaker 1: Now all she does is bitch and moan about the
52:44
Speaker 1: conditions in jail. Breaking news, Glaine, The time to complain
52:47
Speaker 1: about the conditions in jail was when you were rich
52:50
Speaker 1: hanging out with a bunch of people that could change shit. Now, well,
52:53
Speaker 1: guess what, You're just another number. In May, accuser Carolyn Adriano,
52:58
Speaker 1: whose testimony help at Maxwell behind bars, was found dead
53:02
Speaker 1: in the hotel room of a suspected overdose. Following Maxwell's sentencing,
53:07
Speaker 1: Adriano spoke with delimel dot Com, saying she was glad
53:10
Speaker 1: that her voice had been heard. It's so important because
53:14
Speaker 1: I have my own daughters now, she said during the
53:16
Speaker 1: exclusive interview in twenty twenty two. During the trial, Carolyn
53:20
Speaker 1: didn't use her last name, but revealed it to help
53:22
Speaker 1: empower other abuse victims. I'm not ashamed that being a
53:26
Speaker 1: victim of Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell, Adriano said. For
53:30
Speaker 1: other girls that have been victimized, I want them to
53:33
Speaker 1: know that it's okay to come out and tell somebody,
53:35
Speaker 1: even if you don't want to be identified. And the
53:38
Speaker 1: sooner the better, And that's one thousand percent true. Find
53:42
Speaker 1: somebody that you trust, confide in them, and come out swinging,
53:46
Speaker 1: because there's nobody on the planet that deserves to live
53:49
Speaker 1: with this kind of baggage, and the dirtbags that are
53:52
Speaker 1: responsible need to be held accountable. So hopefully this is
53:56
Speaker 1: a good first step for making that happen. And the FBI, well,
54:00
Speaker 1: they have a lot of egg on their face and
54:01
Speaker 1: if they want to start cleaning things up, a good
54:04
Speaker 1: way to do that is to start by being transparent,
54:07
Speaker 1: because they haven't been that this whole entire time. So now,
54:10
Speaker 1: after decades of inaction, after decades of ignoring, these survivors,
54:15
Speaker 1: they're about to get hit with another lawsuit that's probably
54:18
Speaker 1: going to cost the taxpayers another five hundred million, like
54:21
Speaker 1: they're on the hook for with Larry Nasser. So it's
54:24
Speaker 1: just another story where the FBI ignored what was going
54:27
Speaker 1: on for whatever reason. I'll leave that up to interpretation
54:31
Speaker 1: and leave it up to you to figure out. But
54:33
Speaker 1: the fact of the matter is this, when it comes
54:35
Speaker 1: to Jeffrey Epstein, the FBI was negligent in their duties
54:38
Speaker 1: and somebody needs to be held accountable, all right, everybody
54:42
Speaker 1: that's gonna do it for this one. All the information
54:44
Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
54:47
Speaker 1: description
