- 0:22Speaker 2: Hamous mckaye hosting The Country Will Jamie mckaye is away
- 0:24Speaker 2: is with us?
- 0:25Speaker 3: Hello, Hamish Heather, Hello, and can I start really enjoying
- 0:29Speaker 3: fulling in for Jamie.
- 0:30Speaker 2: You start on holiday for a bit longer, but you're
- 0:32Speaker 2: doing a fantastic job, so you know he should come back.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you. Well he does say don't do too well.
- 0:38Speaker 3: He's honest, James.
- 0:39Speaker 1: That's what I mean.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Go well, Hamous, but don't go too well. So thank
- 0:42Speaker 3: you for that. I'll keep I'll keep trying to set
- 0:44Speaker 3: and raise the bar.
- 0:45Speaker 2: I feel like we need to find some space for
- 0:47Speaker 2: you on our show on the regular, so just just
- 0:49Speaker 2: we'll just confer. Just you leave there with us to
- 0:51Speaker 2: find a place.
- 0:52Speaker 3: For your homos. I'll stop talking it.
- 0:56Speaker 2: But a dirty talk on the radio. We are enjoying
- 0:58Speaker 2: it very much. Now listen on the onto the Senior
- 1:00Speaker 2: serious stuff. You had the trade minister on the show today.
- 1:02Speaker 2: What are the hold ups in the trade deal with
- 1:04Speaker 2: with India?
- 1:05Speaker 3: Well, yeah, that is the well, hopefully the billion dollar
- 1:09Speaker 3: plus question. So he's had the third meeting, right, He
- 1:12Speaker 3: is confident on the radio today on the country saying
- 1:15Speaker 3: that the fourth round of meetings will be the knockout
- 1:18Speaker 3: punch and that will come. He believes that mister Moody
- 1:22Speaker 3: and everybody that's you know, ultimately will sign off this
- 1:26Speaker 3: at the table. We know what a behemoth it is.
- 1:29Speaker 3: We just got to go you know, right now, we're
- 1:31Speaker 3: exporting to them about you know, there's individuals with net
- 1:34Speaker 3: worth much more than we export to India, which is
- 1:37Speaker 3: kind of a you know, a pee in the ocean.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Really we need to be you know, we need to
- 1:41Speaker 3: we need to be in there. They're huge. So hopefully
- 1:45Speaker 3: we can start to you know, next time around, he's
- 1:47Speaker 3: promised by I think by February March next year, we
- 1:50Speaker 3: should have free trade Tara free agreement to get our
- 1:54Speaker 3: land into into India. Yeah, well, I think that's I'm
- 2:01Speaker 3: sort of allowing for the sort of the sort of
- 2:03Speaker 3: sign off period. I mean, I'm just trying to I'm
- 2:06Speaker 3: trying to be super friendly here.
- 2:08Speaker 2: All bad though, I mean, Hamish we were talking about,
- 2:10Speaker 2: I mean, I think everybody sort of had a bit
- 2:12Speaker 2: of a snigger when they said they'd be able to
- 2:13Speaker 2: do it in their first term. They'd be remarkable.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Yeah, well yeah it would be, it would be. But
- 2:20Speaker 3: we need it, We need it, you know. I just
- 2:23Speaker 3: worrying me though, what it might do for the local
- 2:26Speaker 3: home consumer. Who know, the old day out of the
- 2:28Speaker 3: supermarket is thirty dollars leg of lamb and whacking it
- 2:31Speaker 3: in the freezer and when the kids are home from unions.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I think that's gone unfortunately.
- 2:38Speaker 2: But yeah, what are you doing with your phone? Hamish?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Can Hamish? We can't hear you. Can you just pull
- 2:45Speaker 2: your phone away from your face and look if the
- 2:47Speaker 2: mute buttons being pressed by your cheek?
- 2:48Speaker 3: Please? Oh is that better?
- 2:53Speaker 2: Did you do that better?
- 2:54Speaker 3: Now? Yeah?
- 2:54Speaker 2: I can hear you now that was really well, well.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I'm just getting carried away, Hamish.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I think I'm going to withdraw my invitation to come
- 3:01Speaker 2: on the show now, ham Mush, listen, talk to me
- 3:03Speaker 2: about beef and lamb. Trying to get the farmers to
- 3:05Speaker 2: use AI. What do they what do they expect the
- 3:06Speaker 2: farmers to use AI for?
- 3:08Speaker 3: So this thing that they've got is called ask Bella.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Bella's obviously you know she is the thing you need
- 3:14Speaker 3: to get online with Beef and Lamb. It's the AI assistant.
- 3:17Speaker 3: So you've got you know how when you go in
- 3:19Speaker 3: there and you search up and you get them, you
- 3:21Speaker 3: get all the information, but you don't get the answers. Well,
- 3:25Speaker 3: you know, Bella, Bella, I've got these fly struck lambs.
- 3:29Speaker 3: What should I do? How you should get the shares
- 3:33Speaker 3: out and then apply X Y Z. It gives you
- 3:36Speaker 3: the answers. Bello goes for the answers. So it's like
- 3:39Speaker 3: having millions and millions of encyclopedia, you know, all that
- 3:42Speaker 3: knowledge that probably exists in the Lincoln University College Library,
- 3:46Speaker 3: but the answers come to you. So it's just good
- 3:50Speaker 3: practical information. When is the best time to spray my
- 3:53Speaker 3: Scotch thistles? You know, I mean, I'm trying to sound
- 3:57Speaker 3: like Bella, but you know what I mean. It seems
- 3:59Speaker 3: like an incredibly practical tool to me and sensible, you know,
- 4:04Speaker 3: you know, I think it's I think it's a great
- 4:06Speaker 3: thing that Beef and Lamb have come up with here
- 4:08Speaker 3: as Bella.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah, why not Hamish? They tell me actually that you
- 4:12Speaker 2: were on the sports Tudle on Friday when I was
- 4:14Speaker 2: away so you've already started to the connection between ourselves
- 4:18Speaker 2: and you was already started.
- 4:20Speaker 3: The infiltration has begun.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Love it? Yeah, Hamish, thanks so much mate, look after yourself.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Good luck making your phone work for you. That's Hamish
- 4:26Speaker 2: mackay hosting the Country Role. Jamie's away actually on what
- 4:29Speaker 2: Hamish was talking about the next step with AI. Because
- 4:33Speaker 2: of course you can ask AI already right with the
- 4:35Speaker 2: large language model programs and stuff. You type all your
- 4:38Speaker 2: questions in, whether it's Bella or Olive with Wilworth's whatever
- 4:43Speaker 2: they can. You can interact like that. But the next
- 4:45Speaker 2: step seems to me that we need to be able
- 4:48Speaker 2: to actually talk to AI in the way that you
- 4:50Speaker 2: talk to Siri. Have you not? Have you thought this?
- 4:52Speaker 2: Because look what happened was I was sitting in the
- 4:55Speaker 2: spa last night. What a way to start a story.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I was sitting in the spar last night, and I
- 4:59Speaker 2: don't have my phone in the spa because I think
- 5:01Speaker 2: it's very healthy to have time away from your phone.
- 5:04Speaker 2: And so I thought to myself, I thought, oh, Jason's
- 5:07Speaker 2: coming to see us this week. Can I know the
- 5:08Speaker 2: kids will want to get in the spa. I wonder
- 5:10Speaker 2: what the weather's going to be like And I thought
- 5:12Speaker 2: at that point, wouldn't it be nice to just be
- 5:15Speaker 2: able to say to AI, Hey, whatever you've called your AI?
- 5:18Speaker 2: In my case, obviously it would be Barry, So hey, Barry,
- 5:23Speaker 2: what's the weather forecast for Saturday? And then the AI
- 5:26Speaker 2: can just tell you and then you can put that
- 5:27Speaker 2: one to bed and never mind and that that's it done, right?
- 5:30Speaker 2: Don't you don't carry the mental load of having to
- 5:31Speaker 2: remember when I get out of the spar I've got
- 5:33Speaker 2: to go find my phone it because I forgot by
- 5:34Speaker 2: the way. So now I've got a back in my brain.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I've got to do the thing anyway. That is where
- 5:38Speaker 2: AI has got to go. But the question, of course
- 5:40Speaker 2: is then how do you get AI to have, like
- 5:42Speaker 2: how do you integrate it in your life so that
- 5:44Speaker 2: it's there prepared to answer your questions. Now I know
- 5:47Speaker 2: that Jason Paris from One New Zealand, who was like
- 5:49Speaker 2: nutty about AI, does drive with some sort of like
- 5:52Speaker 2: hands free thing where he talks to his AI. Most
- 5:55Speaker 2: of us can't, though, So what do you do do you?
- 5:58Speaker 2: Is it a pin that sits on your lapel and
- 6:00Speaker 2: you press the pin and you go as AI the
- 6:03Speaker 2: question or is it those stupid glasses that Zuckerberg was
- 6:07Speaker 2: trying the other day where you know, you talk to
- 6:09Speaker 2: your glasses while it's looking at the menu for you.
- 6:11Speaker 2: That is the next place this has got to go,
- 6:13Speaker 2: because this is the limitation of AI, isn't it that
- 6:16Speaker 2: it's really cool, but you've got to sit there typing
- 6:18Speaker 2: into your keyboard and somehow you have to make it
- 6:21Speaker 2: integrated in our lives. So it really just does all
- 6:23Speaker 2: the cool stuff for us. Anyway, that's the thing to
- 6:25Speaker 2: think about. And if you'll sit in there going, I'm
- 6:28Speaker 2: very good at computers, well, then can you solve this
- 6:30Speaker 2: problem for us?
- 6:31Speaker 3: Please?
