By thoughtfully blessing ourselves with holy water upon entering the church, we participate in a symbolic washing of humility and purification - echoing the priest's hand-washing and Christ's washing of the disciples' feet - which challenges us to move beyond mindless habit and embrace our Catholic traditions with conscious, intentional purpose.
