“Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger, — Ephesians 4:26
Because God in Christ has fully forgiven us, our forgiveness of others flows from that finished work. The command to resolve anger quickly rests on the mercy we have already received. As God's elect, holy and beloved, we put on compassion and kindness, mirroring the vertical grace we have been shown. We forgive because we have first been forgiven.
