Fatal Collision in Cairo: The Amateur Plot to Rob a Yemeni General That Ended in Torture and Death
The case recounts the 2024 murder of Major General Hassan Galal Al-Obeidi, a retired Yemeni officer found bound and killed in his Egyptian apartment. What first appeared to be a robbery was traced to four culprits: Ramadan, Abdo, Suhair, and Israa. Israa’s troubled past and ties to sex work led her into a scheme with Ramadan to lure victims for robbery. Their plan against Al-Obeidi ended in his death, and police soon uncovered the conspiracy. The court sentenced Ramadan to death, Israa to life, and the minors Abdo and Suhair to 15 years each.
