- 0:07SPEAKER_00: welcome to mooney's mythic podcast a meander around the heart and life of
- 0:12glastonbury storyteller me sarah mooney this episode is
- 0:18sponsored by well you'll
- 0:21find out won't you you'll find out what this episode is
- 0:24sponsored by but i can tell
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: you this it came out of a jar and not a box
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's been a ride since last week.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: I've got to tell you, it was a ride last week's podcast.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: And if you've listened to it,
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: you'll hear that I was in the studio with Witchy Finger,
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: a great band.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: But I've never done that before,
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: recorded a...
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: It was a rock band and I went to their studio and they had Ampers...
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Ampers...
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: We'll get onto that later.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: They had amps and speakers and everything everywhere.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: And I didn't know where to put my little microphone.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: I just put it down in the middle.
- 1:07And when we got the recording home,
- 1:10it sounded really distorted and really dodged.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: So the lovely Jules Barker,
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: thank you,
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Jules,
- 1:17took the songs out and put in some other live recordings that
- 1:22they'd done in place.
- 1:25And I was really humbled by that and also a bit ashamed that I
- 1:30couldn't do that myself.
- 1:33So I've been on a bit of an editing journey this week and I'll
- 1:37tell you more about that later.
- 1:39But I just want to go to the end of last week's podcast because
- 1:42as we finished and
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: I was just packing my stuff away,
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Michael Tayak,
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: the musician there,
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: he said to me,
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: oh,
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: it got a bit smutty towards the end,
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: didn't it?
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: Which is true.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: It did.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: And last week we were talking about this never-ending January feeling.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: And what is in the bottom of our barrel,
- 2:08what is still yet to be kind of reached for before spring gets
- 2:15us kind of shooting
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: in a different direction.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: What needs tending to on the inside.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: And I was thinking about that,
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: about smut,
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: about kind of sexual innuendo and laughing about sex.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: And there's this book called The Rational Theory of Sexuality.
- 2:35And it talks about this kind of discharge of laughter when we
- 2:39laugh about sex.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: It's all about distress, you know.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: And I think that's probably,
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: there's a lot of that in the bottom of my bowl,
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: kind of embarrassment,
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: shock,
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: disbelief,
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: confusion,
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: lots of those words all around sex.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: So if you listen back to it, remember to laugh.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: It'll be good for you if you can laugh at it.
- 3:10I was also thinking about smut as in you can get a kind of
- 3:15mildew on corn,
- 3:17corn smut.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: And this kind of smut can get you high.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: It's got psychedelic properties.
- 3:24So I was thinking about that and that got me thinking about
- 3:28indigenous people,
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: people connected to the land and people whose oral culture is...
- 3:41much stronger than ours,
- 3:42that haven't been writing things down for hundreds of years.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: And so it's all in their stories.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: Everything that's needed to remember is in their stories.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: And Lisa O'Neill talks about this when she talks about her song Old Note,
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: beautiful song Old Note,
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: if you get a chance to listen to it.
- 4:05She talks about the astronomy and the gossip and the history
- 4:11and the geography and
- 4:12everything being within a song or within a story and how we're
- 4:16losing that a bit.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: And I've been thinking about that too.
- 4:26I'm going to read to you a little bit from Robert McFarlane and
- 4:29Jackie Morris' book,
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: The Lost Spells.
- 4:33And this came about because there were words being taken out of
- 4:36the English
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: dictionary and a lot of them were pertaining to nature.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: So they created a dictionary where there's a large illustrated one.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: And this is a small, very beautifully illustrated book.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: I'm just going to read the introduction to you.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: This is a book of spells to be spoken aloud.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: It tells its stories and sings its songs in paint and word.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Here you will find incantations and summoning charms,
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: spells that protect and spells that protest,
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: tongue twisters,
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: blessings,
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: lullabies and psalms.
- 5:10Here you might sweep with a swallow,
- 5:13follow a seal through the sea or sky race with swifts.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Here you can listen with owl ears and watch with the eyes of an oak.
- 5:22Here a fox might witch into your mind or flocks of moths may
- 5:27lift from the page to fill the air.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Loss is the tune of our age, hard to miss and hard to bear.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Creatures, places and words disappear day after day, year on year.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: But there has always been singing in dark times.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: And wonder is needed now more than ever.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: To enchant means both to make magic and to sing out.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: So let these spells ring far and wide.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: Speak their words and seek their art.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Let the wild world into your eyes, your voice, your heart.
- 6:09it's beautiful isn't it and i was thinking about that because
- 6:13in the smutty part of
- 6:15the pod last week we were talking about um the practice of of
- 6:20making um glyphs oh
- 6:23you have to listen to it but i'm thinking about spells and i'm
- 6:26thinking thinking
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: about the
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: the vibration of a word,
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: the vibration,
- 6:36the way that a word resonates all around our body and deep into
- 6:43the earth.
- 6:43And there are many creation stories where the universe was
- 6:48birthed with a sound.
- 6:49In Sanskrit,
- 6:52each sound are different sounds that give birth to different things.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: And in the Celtic tradition, there's the Arwen,
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: So I'm here making the sound of the Arwen,
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: recording this pod,
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: thinking of you all,
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: out there listening,
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: wanting to share with you how it's been for me,
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: wondering how it's all been for you.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: This week I've been editing.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: I've been learning to edit.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: In fact,
- 7:32I've already paused this recording twice and tripped up a few
- 7:39times and thinking,
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: oh,
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: do I go back and cut that out?
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Does that need cutting?
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Does this need cutting?
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: And I'm so torn because I know that this pod needs to be more polished.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: It needs to be slicker.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: And I sat down to record a story the other day on this editing programme.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: And it was a story about a 25 minute story.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: And because I'm recording not live,
- 8:10like I'm recording on an editing program that I can cut up
- 8:15because before I couldn't,
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: I just had to press record in substack.
- 8:20I'm listening to myself in a different way and I'm judging
- 8:22myself in everything that I say.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: There's judgment.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: Is that good enough?
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: Am I going to cut that?
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: And I'm not able to flow through in the way that I want to flow through.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: And so I'm recording this story,
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: half an hour story,
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: editing it,
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: stopping it,
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: that's not right,
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: that's not okay,
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: cutting that bit.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Hours later, seriously, hours later, like about four hours later,
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: There I am, finally finished it.
- 8:51It doesn't feel like it's got the aliveness or the juiciness of
- 8:56a really raw state
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: of story that I like to get myself into.
- 9:00But I've got to go out because I've promised to go and see my
- 9:05friends Queen Space
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Baroque play,
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: who are a brilliant band.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: Go and see them if you get a chance to.
- 9:10And I didn't want to miss the warm up act because there was
- 9:14this gorgeous woman,
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: Griselda,
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: and she was playing the Swedish nickel harp.
- 9:18And how often do you get to go out and listen to someone play
- 9:22the Swedish nickel harp?
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: So anyway, I got there, but I was full.
- 9:28I was so full of this total confusion around what progress is
- 9:36and how I should
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: progress with the pod and what I should and shouldn't edit.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: And what happens for me,
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: I live within a universe of stories in my mind and I could feel myself...
- 9:50fluttering about looking for the story my heart my soul my my
- 9:55body sort of trying
- 9:56to find what's the story that's going to help me understand
- 10:00here what's the story
- 10:03and then chris elder's playing the nickel heart which is
- 10:06beautiful and it's
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: soothing me somewhere in a place i feel quite distressed about it all
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: And and then she plays this song.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: She's playing the violin at this point.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: And she says that she plays a song,
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: an old song that used to be played and sung to call back the cows.
- 10:28And she's singing this song,
- 10:30playing this song to call back the herd for milking time.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: And I can hear it suddenly,
- 10:37I can hear the birds and I can hear the insects and I can hear
- 10:44the wind and I can
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: hear suddenly the flora and the fauna that we have lost,
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: that I have lost in the listening because I'm not listening to nature,
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: I'm not addressing nature as if it were totally animate and alive,
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: every part of it,
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: every stone,
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: every feather.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: And then I see it like a little glimmer of gold.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: And I know what it is.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: I know what the story is.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: It's Pandora's box.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: And I see that glimmer.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: It's like gold.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: It's like the golden snitch.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: And I know I don't need to grab it.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: I don't need it to make sense to me in any way.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: It's just there.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: It's arrived.
- 11:38And so the story of Pandora's box,
- 11:41and they say that originally,
- 11:43actually,
- 11:43it's a jar.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: It's like an earthenware jar.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: It's just been mistranslated.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: Zeus asked Hephaestus to make a woman.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: And he made Pandora.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: And Pandora was very curious.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: He made her very curious.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Zeus created her as very curious.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: And then he gave her a big earthenware jar and asked her not to open it.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: And of course she opens it.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: And out comes plague and misery,
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: shame,
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: disappointment,
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: greed,
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: hatred,
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: strife,
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: sickness,
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: sorrow,
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: grief.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Pestilence.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: That was my favourite one when I was little.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Pestilence.
- 12:28I didn't know what it meant but I loved it because I was called
- 12:32a pest sometimes.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: I just loved the elongation of the word pest.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Pestilence.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: But then finally out comes hope.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: And I saw hope in that moment and I've got nothing else to speak of it,
- 12:51but I saw hope like a golden light in that moment and it was
- 12:55very soothing.
- 12:57Suddenly I felt very tired and even though I'd arranged to meet
- 13:01a few people there
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: and I'd barely seen them,
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: I just walked home one foot in front of the other.
- 13:06When I got home,
- 13:07I listened to one of my friend Chris's stories that she'd sent me.
- 13:11She created an advent of stories for me and I've been listening
- 13:14to them and I very
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: much appreciate that gift.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: You see, do I cut that out?
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Do I go back and be like, oh, I was like, do I cut that bit out?
- 13:25Because I think the thing is,
- 13:26is that the more impassioned I can get,
- 13:29the less coherent.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: I think that's the same for lots of people.
- 13:33And so now that I'm trying to be perfect,
- 13:39I'm speaking in this monotone way.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: And I,
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: yeah,
- 13:44I'm just trying to find a middle ground and I'm thinking about
- 13:47social media and
- 13:48girls with hardly any eyebrows and big lips and all looking
- 13:53like the best that they
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: can for the screen,
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: not for real life.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: And that breaks my heart so much.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah,
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: just wanting to be real,
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: but also wanting to be professional,
- 14:05wanting to be successful and wondering how they all weave
- 14:10themselves in together.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: So I did cut a bit then because I got a bit lost.
- 14:16I got a bit impassioned and I started to lose my words and well
- 14:21up with tears.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: So now I'm lying down.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: I'm lying down in bed and...
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: And so I'm a bit,
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: my angle to the microphone's a bit different,
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: so I might sound a bit different.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: I wanted to read a little bit from this book to you.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: This is one of my favourite books, The Spell of the Sensuous.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: It's taken me a long time to really groove with his language.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: I love,
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: I've had it for a really long time,
- 14:47probably had it for 15 years and I like to dip in and out of it
- 14:53but now I'm reading
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: it in earnest and it's like having,
- 14:57it's having the conversation with me that I'm having with
- 15:00myself on the inside and
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: that's what's so exciting about it.
- 15:05but oh yeah it's by David Abram and what is this person James
- 15:12Hillman says about it
- 15:14I know of no work more valuable for shifting our thinking and
- 15:17feeling about the
- 15:18place of humans in the world yeah I think that's what I'm
- 15:23getting at I think I'm
- 15:24trying to find my place in the world and I'm trying to find my
- 15:28place in the
- 15:31um podcasting world or like in the in the storytelling world or
- 15:36or yeah where I
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: land I'm trying to find where I fit so in this book there is um a um
- 15:48A little paragraph of words spoken by an elder called Old Torlino,
- 15:55a Navajo elder.
- 15:57And it is said that he speaks these words before he goes into
- 16:03telling a myth,
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: telling a creation story.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: And I'm thinking about the Bible.
- 16:10In the beginning was the word and the word was God and the word
- 16:15was with God.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: Something like that.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: I think it is.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: And I'm thinking about the beginnings of stories.
- 16:22Once upon a time,
- 16:23Arabian nights,
- 16:24they always begin or lots of the stories begin with.
- 16:27There was an incredible king because,
- 16:30of course,
- 16:31all the stories are being told to the king.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: And he begins his stories like this.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: I am ashamed before the earth.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: I am ashamed before the heavens.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: I am ashamed before the dawn.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: I am ashamed before the evening twilight.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: I am ashamed before the blue sky.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: I am ashamed before the sun.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: I am ashamed before that standing within me which speaks with me.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: I am ashamed before that standing within me which speaks with me.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Some of these things are always looking at me.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: I am never out of sight.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: Therefore, I must tell the truth.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: I hold my word tight to my breast.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm wowed by that.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: I am...
- 17:36feeling like the thing that we as humans hide most is our shame
- 17:43that actually when
- 17:44we go down to the bottom of the barrel to the smutty bottom of
- 17:49the barrel where all
- 17:50the feelings are that shame's a really big one and I'm not sure
- 17:58that there are
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: enough stories that tell us how to be with shame
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: how to move through it, how to honour and own it.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: And to begin a story like that is profound for me as a storyteller.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: I'm very moved by it.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: It's like it's a prayer, it's an incantation.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: And I feel like it's kind of
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: There's not any covering up.
- 18:40This person's not trying to perform,
- 18:43not trying to be bigger than or bolder than the audience.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: We are all humbled in his humbling.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: And in that place of humbling, when we're connected with our own shame,
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: We can tell a story.
- 19:03We can tell a story that is truthful,
- 19:06that is compassionate,
- 19:07that is absolutely resonant.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: We can feel our own feelings within a story.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: We can cry our own tears.
- 19:18We can really use a story as a way of releasing and
- 19:23regenerating and connecting.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Yes, that's been a big and moving teaching for me.
- 19:35So then I'm reading on in the book and he talks about the
- 19:41animism in all things.
- 19:44About the indigenous way of being with the land and that
- 19:50everything in the land is
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: connected to us.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: Brother wind, sister moon.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: our ancestors, our ancients, our brethren.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: We are connected, we are related to all things.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: And he writes this address to a stone.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: Unmoved from time without end you rest.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: There in the midst of the paths, in the midst of the winds you rest.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: Covered with the droppings of birds, grass growing from your feet.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: Your head decked with the down of birds you rest.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: In the midst of the winds you wait, aged one.
- 20:40Yeah,
- 20:41I'm going to spend a bit of time doing that to go out into
- 20:44nature and to...
- 20:48connect with something as if it were a deep friend,
- 20:56as if it were an ancestor.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: And I think that's what we'll do at the retreat at Chalice Well.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: I think we'll choose something in nature to connect with in that way,
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: to build a relationship with through words,
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: through direct address.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: And in that way, find our own place in the web of all things.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Find our own place in the network of nature.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: I think we'll write our own creation stories.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: We'll tell our own creation stories from the beginning, from the seed.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Anyway,
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: I could go off on one,
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: but I do have a couple of spaces left and I'd love to,
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: if any of that sounds good to you,
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: I'd love to have you there.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: It's the 27th of February for three nights at the Chalice Whale Gardens.
- 21:59can't wait personally i can't wait so get in touch if you want
- 22:05to come and stay
- 22:05with us and and work with story and work with the land and work
- 22:10with magic in that
- 22:11way anyway there was something else i wanted to read in this
- 22:15book if i can find it
- 22:19this is a hasidic commentary on prayer that i like to think
- 22:24about in the context of
- 22:27SPEAKER_00: storytelling
- 22:30See your prayer as arousing the letters through which heaven
- 22:34and earth and all
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: living things were created.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: The letters are the life of all.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: When you pray through them all creation joins with you in prayer.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: All that is around you can be uplifted.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Even the song of a passing bird may enter into such a prayer.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: I can hear the wind.
- 23:00I can hear the wind outside and the rain just starting to spit
- 23:04down my chimney as I
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: say those words.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: Can you hear that?
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: That's the rain coming down my chimney.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: Must be hail.
- 23:18SPEAKER_00: And that's a real prayer for me that
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: that all the seen and unseen forces,
- 23:24that all of magic and all of nature can come into my stories
- 23:31and be present in my stories.
- 23:35And so in love I've been all my life,
- 23:38but recently even more so with storytelling.
- 23:41And I want to say thank you to you all listening to this
- 23:45podcast because it's given
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: me a space to...
- 23:51delve about and think about and appreciate stories in a totally
- 23:56different way and
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: to speak aloud some of the things that I think and believe and know about
- 24:06storytelling that I've never said to anybody so thank you for
- 24:11being part of this
- 24:12forum for me to be able this dance ground for me to be able to
- 24:16talk about things
- 24:20And yeah,
- 24:21so I have been thinking about giving the podcast a little rest
- 24:27for a while.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: At the beginning of March, I've been doing this weekly for a year.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: And I thought it might be time to just end the season.
- 24:40have a few weeks thinking about what am I doing how am I doing
- 24:45it and then coming
- 24:47back with season two and in that way I wanted to ask you all
- 24:55what do you want how
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: can I serve you
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: How can I arrive in your life,
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: at your ears,
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: to deepen your experience of this life,
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: to soften your hearts and to support you to...
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: Not be afraid to be wonderful and wonder-filled.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: That's my question to you.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: So if you've got any ideas about that, let me know.
- 25:32And I've been listening to another podcast,
- 25:36the Time Between Times podcast with Owen Statton.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: It's a great, it's a really great storytelling podcast.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: And I think I invited myself on a while ago.
- 25:48I'd like to say he invited me to be on the show,
- 25:51but I think I invited myself on.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: He said, come on the show.
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: Tell me a story that you want me to tell.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: We'll have a chat and then I'll tell the story.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: It's really exciting.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: So I got in touch with him yesterday and was like Pandora's box.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: I'd love to hear it.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: It's like I've had this such a profound conversation.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: feeling inside of me, such a visceral experience of it.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: I'd love to hear someone else telling it.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: So I'm going to go on his show, not next week, but the week after.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: And I'll let you know when that's coming on.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: And you can listen to that.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: We can listen to it together.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: We can have a listen party.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: It's nearly in bulk.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: I was going to
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: do this one more episode about death before Imbolc came.
- 26:45But I feel like with the release of hope from Pandora's jar
- 26:51that Imbolc is arriving.
- 26:55Imbolc means in the belly and it's the festival for the first
- 27:00stirrings in the
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: belly like the movement in the belly to come out into springtime.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: So death will have to wait.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: Maybe around Valentine's Day I'll pop it out.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: So I'm going to Ireland for Imbolc, really looking forward to that.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah,
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: I'm not doing any live storytelling for a couple of weeks,
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: but I'll keep you posted when I am.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: Thanks to everyone who came to the shows over Christmas,
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: to the show last week,
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: really,
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: really thank you.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: I feel so heartened and gladdened by telling those stories and by
- 27:46watching all your faces yeah so i'm just having a bit of a time
- 27:52deepening into
- 27:52myself right now getting ready for um this retreat at the
- 27:57chalice well to really
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: make it something so exquisite so profound so magical yeah
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: If you feel like buying me a drink,
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: if you feel like reaching out and supporting me to make this podcast,
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: to do my artistry,
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: then you can find me on Patreon,
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: Mooney's Mythic Podcast.
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: You can send a message, you can share this podcast, just anything else.
- 28:39any any way that you can to just kind of reach out and let me
- 28:45know that you know
- 28:46I'm alive but if you're just quietly secretly listening that's
- 28:53absolutely fine too
- 28:54I have a couple of things that I listen to absolutely quietly
- 28:59and I'm not sure how
- 29:00I'd feel about the person doing the podcast even knowing I'm
- 29:04listening and
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: Blessings and peace.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: May your journey to Imbog be filled with fragrance and light.
