- 0:22Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin.
- 0:25It is a Tuesday, June 23rd. Holy cow.
- 0:30We are off a huge weekend.
- 0:32And just yesterday, I recorded with Dr.
- 0:36I called him the professor, I should say. Professor Nick.
- 0:40Nick L. is back with us, and we'll be airing that episode this week.
- 0:44Hopefully, if not this week, it'll be Monday morning or Tuesday.
- 0:48Look out for that. That's a programming note.
- 0:51We're going to begin a brand new series. We're going to do it on a Tuesday,
- 0:55and we're going to run this through.
- 0:56This series is called Becoming, the person God always knew I could be.
- 1:03And episode one, which is today for that series, is called I Never Saw This Coming.
- 1:09It's kind of a little repeatish from the Cheated series, but fresh off the heels
- 1:15of that series, I think a lot of you will understand where I'm coming from.
- 1:20So if you don't know who I am, my name is Angel Santana. This is Have Faith,
- 1:23Let It Begin. We are now officially federally trademarked and registered trademark,
- 1:28and we are excited to be here with you.
- 1:31So with that being said, let's begin a brand new series called Becoming the
- 1:35Person Who God Always Knew I Could Be.
- 1:39You know, over the last couple of weeks, we talked about betrayal.
- 1:42We talked about heartbreak. We talked about disappointment. We talked about healing.
- 1:48But now I want to talk to you about something different.
- 1:51I want to talk about growth. Because we just recently started season nine and
- 1:57we fast approached our beginning of our nine-year anniversary here at Have Faith Let It Begin.
- 2:03And as I was celebrating that, I found myself reflecting on a question that came about.
- 2:09What would you, meaning myself, what would the younger version of me think of,
- 2:14if I could see myself today?
- 2:16I had to think about that for a little while. I don't think the younger version
- 2:21of me would have believed it.
- 2:23Have faith, let it begin being a podcast, me hosting a podcast.
- 2:29Now, if you told me 15 years ago that one day I would host a podcast that would
- 2:33reach people all over the country, I would have laughed at that too.
- 2:37If you told me that I'd be attending pastoral school, definitely would have
- 2:41laughed at that even harder.
- 2:42And if you told me people would come to me for encouragement,
- 2:46prayer, advice, and support probably would have looked behind me and said,
- 2:51okay, who are you actually talking about?
- 2:54Because that's not how I saw myself. I saw a lot of flaws back in the day.
- 3:01I saw mistakes, my mistakes, my fears. I saw my failures.
- 3:07I saw everything I wasn't, but God saw everything I could become.
- 3:11And that's amazing. It's an amazing thing about God. He doesn't see who we are today.
- 3:17He sees who we're becoming You know long before we can even see it ourselves.
- 3:22He knows I spent a lot of years doubting myself A lot of years questioning whether i'm capable of being.
- 3:29The right person making a difference A lot of years believing that other people
- 3:33were more talented More qualified more gifted more prepared,
- 3:39While I was busy comparing myself to everyone else God was quietly preparing
- 3:44me for things I couldn't even imagine.
- 3:46Isn't it funny how life works? Sometimes we're asking God to change our circumstances,
- 3:52while God is trying to change us.
- 3:56Because the greatest miracle isn't always a changed situation.
- 4:01Sometimes the greatest miracle is a changed person.
- 4:06When this podcast started, I had no idea where it would lead.
- 4:10I wasn't thinking about nine years. I wasn't thinking about thousands of episodes.
- 4:14And I certainly wasn't thinking about ministry opportunities.
- 4:18It was always in the back of my mind, don't get me wrong.
- 4:20But I wasn't thinking about pastoral school. I was simply taking just one step
- 4:24at a time One episode One conversation One act of faith And looking back now, I realize something,
- 4:33Most of the biggest things God has done in my life Started with one small step Not certainty.
- 4:41Not confidence Faith Just enough faith to take the next step One of my favorite
- 4:47truths in scripture Is that God often chooses people who don't feel qualified.
- 4:54Moses didn't feel qualified. Jeremiah didn't feel qualified.
- 4:59Peter didn't feel qualified.
- 5:02Gideon didn't feel qualified. Yet God used them anyway. Why did he use them?
- 5:10Because God doesn't call the qualified. He qualifies the called.
- 5:15And maybe somebody listening here today can relate to that.
- 5:19I don't need everyone to have everything figured out, right?
- 5:22You don't need to have everything figured out. You don't need to have all the answers. You don't need.
- 5:29The perfect confidence. You simply need to trust the one who already knows where he is taking you.
- 5:37So as we begin this series together,
- 5:41I want you to think about your own life.
- 5:45Where were you 10 years ago, five years ago? And who are you becoming today?
- 5:52Because maybe God has been working in your life more than you realized.
- 5:56Maybe you've grown more than you've noticed. Maybe you survived things that should have broken you.
- 6:02And maybe, just maybe, you're becoming the person God always knew you could be.
- 6:08Are you ready for that? Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for your ability to see who we are.
- 6:16Thank you for seeing potential in us, even when we can't see it ourselves.
- 6:21Thank you for every step, every lesson, every challenge, and every blessing
- 6:25that helps help us shape who we are today.
- 6:29Help us trust the process of
- 6:31becoming and reminding us that you're never finished working in our lives.
- 6:37We pray this unto you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
- 6:41We'll talk about the person in the mirror, because that's next.
- 6:44That's tomorrow's episode.
- 6:46And the person in the mirror, and discover the difference between who people
- 6:51say we are, and who God says we are.
- 6:56Until next time, never forget, have faith, let it begin.
