- 0:19SPEAKER_00: And I am Sean.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: And how are you?
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: I'm good.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: I'm a little tired.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: I've been a dancing bear all day.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, that's not a phrase that uh just anyone can say.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: It's not.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: It's a very specialized group of theater people who can say those things.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: I don't know that I've ever played a dancing bear.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: So you got that on me.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: So you you have things to look forward to in your career.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: You're right.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: You're right.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Oh boy.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: So you guys are done with Greece, and you you started Shrek, then, huh?
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: That is that is correct.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Well, that's exciting.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: It's a good property.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: It's a good score, too.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: It is.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: It's a very fun show.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Well, good.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: I'm glad you're having a good time.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: And it's good family themed entertainment, which leads me to our topic today.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: That's the terrible segue, but you know what?
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: We're going over it anyway.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Uh less.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: No, continue.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: No, yeah.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say we're we're talking about our our favorite family uh attractions at the Walt Disney World this week, continuing our lovely series.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I was gonna say there's probably less farting on these attractions than there is in Shrek.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Maybe, but maybe not, really.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: I guess, I guess you don't know.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Oh man.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: We've been listening to more, we've been listening to more of the uh of the overheard at Disney Gospel edition.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: Oh god, yes.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: And oh my god, one today was about crust crop dusting a child in a stroller in the Peter Pan queue.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Oh no.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: I it it was hysterically funny.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Um, I mean, some of the things that are overheard are they're funny anyway, but man, when you put them to a gospel beat and and sing them with some backup, it it's pretty impressive.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's a whole other level of comedy.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: I do encourage our audio visitors to to check it out if you have not.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: Overheard at Disney Gospel.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: Yes, if you haven't, um it it will tickle you in all the right places.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Um uh that was a weird phrase too, but you know what?
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: We're going with it.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: Um uh okay, so something about family and uh attractions, I believe you said.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're that's what we're we're gonna count down our our our top five family attractions here at the Walt Disney World.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: And I'll be curious to see.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: I there were some things that um as I got to thinking about it, and we'll we'll talk about the methods at the end because uh I think there's some things that I left off that I was surprised that I left off, but as I got to thinking about it, I was like, you know what?
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: I'm just uh not feeling it.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: So right.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Well, I call your bookie because I don't know.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna say two overlaps, maybe three.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: No, I don't know.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: This could be interesting, but what once you start us off?
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: What's what's on your list?
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: What do you got?
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Well, all right.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: So so my number five, my number five here, and I, you know, as as you say, I I pondered this today with seriousness in my heart, going, what what do I, a person who has never actually taken a child to Disney, truly know about family attractions?
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: But I am but I am a travel advisor, and so it's my job to know, you know, what are what are the more you know family friendly attractions?
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: And although this one may be controversial, because some people get their panties in a twist about it, uh, I'm gonna I'm gonna put in my number five slot, it's a small world.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: And it's a worthy option, yes.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Um and and I j I believe, you know, there are so many younger children that go on it that love it and remember it.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, there's nothing, there's nothing scary about it.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: It's so festive.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: Oh, and not to mention the holiday overlay that they do at in California, which is really cool if if you've never seen that.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: But I don't it just the song, which is the controversial part, because man, some people get all bent out of shape about that song.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: But you know, as we've said before, listen to the lyrics, and it's really a message that you know, I think any family should be excited to share with their children.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: And so at my number five position is it's a small world, a worthy, worthy number five.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: So my number five is Peter Pan's flight.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: I think it's that's a good one.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's a solid example of classic Disney storytelling, and I think for the family, it's great.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: You're climbing aboard that flying pirate ship and you're soaring above London and never land, and you know, you see Peter and Wendy and Captain Hook, and and and you soar past slightly more culturally appropriate scenes of Native Americans now than you used to, so yeah, and there's still some dead pirates there, but that's fine.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: And I think maybe they're just sleeping.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Sure, I don't know any blood or stab wounds.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Do you?
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: I think they're just sleeping.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: And I I think uh, you know, it's a lovely feeling of actually flying and the ship.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: I I love you know how it takes off out of the room, and uh it's a magical little attraction that we did not uh experience on this last trip now that I'm thinking about it.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: Um how did you go and not experience Peter Pan's flight?
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: It was always kind of a crazy wait, and the wait times were so low that it just didn't, you know, it still had like that 60 to 80 minute wait, so we just didn't do it.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: But I it is a childlike wonder that that attraction gives you, and I do love that about it.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: And yeah, um you know, despite the long wait, sometimes I I love it because it it really speaks to the Disney child in me, you know?
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: And so that is my number five is Peter Pan's flight.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: I it's just a magical little journey, but I enjoy it.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: It is, yeah.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: Yes, all right.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm gonna stay classic here and also in the magic kingdom.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: And I've I've brought this up before because I believe it is just if there were a quintess well, I don't know.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: I guess if you said what is the quintessential Disney theme park attraction, some people, some people I guess might say the teacups are are quintessential, but but I I I didn't mention them, but I mean, still okay, family attraction.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: But my number four slot is going to go to the classic Dumbo attraction because I just I mean, I remember riding it with my parents, and there's just something about spinning in a circle on an elephant with your family that stays with you.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: And uh, you know, you can make the elephant go higher or lower.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: And what what could be better than that as a kid to control how high your elephant flies?
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: So well, uh yeah.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: So, you know, choose how high your elephant goes, it will always go in a circle, and uh you know, and especially over the years, as as certainly as we've watched the queue progress and the fact that now you've got double Dumbo circles with like 40 elephants and and you know, little little wake time coasters so you can play in the big play area.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: And I just in terms of an actual just a family attraction that I think of immediately when I think Disney, I'm going with the Dumbo.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: Call that bookie because my number four is also Dumbo the Flying Elephant.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: All right, yeah, so why did it make your list?
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Well, I think it's one of the most iconic attractions at Disney, which is so strange to say, but we've talked about um, you know, just how nostalgic it is.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: But I I think it's almost a symbol of the magic of the Disney parks in a way.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: Um you don't often see an ad for Disney.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: I like we saw one when we were at the movies the other night, and there was Dumbo was like very prominent in the ad.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: And I was like, this is interesting, but you know, I love that you climb aboard Dumbo and you take that flight above Fantasyland.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: And if you do it at the right time of you know, dusk, it's really pretty over there.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: And like you said, you can control how high or low you go.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: And the attraction itself is simple, but I think that's part of its magic, and it represents imagination and childhood wonder.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: And you know, for many, that might be the joy of experience a Disney attraction for the first time.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: So I think for families, like you mentioned, you did it with your parents.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Um, and Harper's Harper and I've been writing this since she was little.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Um, Dumbo is a tradition, you know.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: And uh, in a lot of ways, I think it's a memory that is one of those memories that lasts, you know, long after the vacation ends.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: So that's my number four is Dumbo's flying elephant.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: There, there we go.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: How about that?
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Good for us overlapping at the same point in our list.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: That doesn't happen often, but here we are.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: It doesn't.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: Well, uh, buy your lottery tickets now because it's like half a billion.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: So um, all right.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: Uh, so my number three, and uh huh.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: I'm looking at I'm looking at the parks that got represented here, and honestly, I only have two parks that show up on my list.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: But I do too, actually.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: All right, well, so my number three is Toy Story Mania.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, because okay, because and you know, and the new Buzz Ranger uh Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger spin crossed my mind, but I haven't ridden the new version yet.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: And it's sort of the same principle as why I why I chose uh Toy Story Mania, but it's just it's one of those attractions that you know the family can do together.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: The the whole you know, fire at the targets thing is fun.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: You're competing against your family because you know everybody wants bragging rights and to be a galactic beaver or whatever it is that you can be.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: Uh I know I know the picture is a beaver.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: I I don't, I mean one of them, right?
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Can't you can't you be like I think so?
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: Galactic beaver is also a really good band name.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would go see them.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: I would I would go see them any any day, Galactic Beaver.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: Or is it Intergalactic Beaver?
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't know.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: Do they go between the galaxies?
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: I we'll have to ask.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: But Toy Story Mania, I just I think it's a fun, you know, and walking into that world of, you know, the oversized box, you know, the the whole, you know, the the fact that the stack of games and the toys around you are you know bring you down to toy size.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: I just I I think it's an excellent family attraction and therefore received the number three spot on my list.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: I that's that's a worthy spot for that.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: Well, all of mine are worthy.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: I are.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: I'm very I thank you.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: I'm grateful.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: Yours are worthy too, but what's your number three?
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: My number three um is an attraction that has really grown on me.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Um, the last to your doctor.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, I did.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: And he said, Well, you have a problem, sir, and it's an expensive addiction.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: Um it might be cheaper than cocaine.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Oh you never know.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: I depends, I guess, on where you get your cocaine.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: But I digress.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: You know, in the early two thousands, in the early two, yeah.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: In the early 2000s, I'll have you know cocaine was uh not as expensive as you think it would be, uh, as a friend has said to me.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: Um interesting.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: You do hang out with some unique people, yeah.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh were they a band member of Galactic Beaver?
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: They they they probably uh but Macomb had a nice uh anyway, supply of fun.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Anyway, all right, my number three went down a weird spoke.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Um that's what we do.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: Well, us cocaine people, we go down the spokes.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: Number three.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: So number so number three um is uh Remy's Ratatouille adventure.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: I I entertained Ratatouille, but it did not make my list.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I in I the first time I did it a couple years ago, I was enchanted by it, but it has really grown on me like this past year when we've gone, it has been a constant for us.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: And honestly, the 2D aspect of it is fine, like it didn't really take anything away, really.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: Um, and I just keep noticing all these details, but I love that it invites the get guests to shrink down to the size of a rat, and you join Remy on this, you know, chaotic adventure through the kitchen, and um, and I do love that it's a trackless ride using that technology, and you're racing across the kitchen floor and you're dodging the obstacles, and you're going into the fridge and you're under the table, which is one of my favorite things because the wheels on the side of you spin, which I think is so great.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: And then are you you're under the oven and the oven turns on and it turns on, and like like I need that in Florida in August, but okay.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think you know it appeal it comes from how playful the storytelling is, and I think the larger than life sets really make it, you know, and there's a lot of humor in it, there's an energy that really keeps everybody entertained, and it's a perfect example of Disney blending technology with a simple, fun story, and I have vivid memories of my niece on it for the first time, and Harper too.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: And I think it's it's a lovely attraction for a family, and so that's my number three is Remy's.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: I I actually adore it.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: I also realized I'm a liar.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: I have three parks on here, three parks on the list.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: Uh, but I digress.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: Uh oh, so we're up to my number two.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: So my number two stays in the Toy Story family.
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: And I I I can't remember where you stand on this if you've actually finally ridden it or not.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: But my number two is Slinky Dog Dash.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: I have finally, yes.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Did it make your list?
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: It did not.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh, first of all, I think we all know what a great family attraction it is because it's the it's the lightning lane that goes the fastest over there, because you know, it appeals to families in ways that some of the other thrillish type attractions, like Tower of Terror or Rock and Roller Coaster, you know, they don't it is a coaster, yes, and it does have a launch, but you know, it's just so fun.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: Slinky dog is fun.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: And you know, the track, the track is is, you know, just delightful.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: And if you if you ride it at late at night again, you get some very cool views from there, and just you know, the way the backyard is set up to, you know, sort of be this play ground, and you know, Andy's put out boxes that you know are decorated with like saloons and tumbleweed and cactus, and you know, it just it's it's like a kid's backyard, and it's just enchanting.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: I it is enchanting, you are correct.
- 16:53SPEAKER_01: And something that adults and kids can do together because it is that introductory level coaster for families.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: I mean, Disney, Disney has a few of those that are family friendly, but in my opinion, the Slinky Dog Dash uh deserves the number two spot on my list.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Ah, I love that.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: Um, my number two is the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: Um it's that is an excellent choice and did not make my list for some reason.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: I'm surprised.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: I it's it's like pure Disney charm.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: You climb aboard that little honey pot and enter the hundred acre wood for a whimsical adventure, eventually going into the the fever dream that is the fever dream of heffalumps and woozles, yeah.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I think it's so colorful, and I love the storybook aspect of it, and almost what makes it so special is how simple it is for the most part, you know what I mean?
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: Like yeah, heffalumps and woozles thing is wild.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: There's no major thrills or anything or complicated super complicated technology.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: There's some screens, but like it's just a beautifully crafted storybook experience, you know.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: I mean tigger tigger bouncing, yeah.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: You're like Tigger, please, right?
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: That's but I just ate lunch, and but that's about as wild as it gets.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: I just think it does a really nice job of capturing like a childhood's imagination.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: And I I remember Harper going on that for the first time and I was just like so enchanted, and you know, I I think it's it's a perfect attraction that children can enjoy, but also the parents and grandparents can enjoy as well.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: Because we all at this point, everyone's grown up with Winnie the Pooh, at no matter what age you are, of course.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: And so right, um, I don't know.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: It's just when I think about that, I just absolutely love that attraction.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: And so that is number two for me.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: It is charming AF, as the kids say.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: It is charming AF, yes.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: Um, all right.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: So wow, we're up to number one already.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: We are.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: I'm curious if if we have chosen the same number one, or or I don't know.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: Uh I guess I'll throw it out there.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: This is one that again we have spoken of before, and as I've said, I think it's I think it's the prettiest ride, maybe in all of in all of Disney World, and I chose Frozen Ever After.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: Yes, so did I.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: Well, then I guess I guess we concur on what our choice is for and one.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it's just it's so beautiful.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: There's nothing scary about it.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: It's just it also is charming AF.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: And yeah, well, because what did we do it?
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: We did a whole episode on it, right?
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: With Jonathan.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: We did it a couple weeks back, yeah.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: So go back and listen to that episode.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: That tells you why we all love it so much.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: But um, but yeah, it's I I just I think it's multi-generational, you know, as long as grandma and grandpa can get in the boat, everyone can sail together.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: And uh I think there's just something there for everyone to appreciate and to experience together.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: And as we've said before, it's it's that magic of Disney that's not screens, it's it's immersing you in a 3D version of the movie and to be there with your family, floating along, you know, watching Sven stretch his rubbery tongue.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: What could be better?
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: Even though I know that caused distress to Jonathan's wife, I guess.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, I agree with you.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: I I love that it brings, you know, the world of Aaron Dell to life, and it's kind of like a highlight reel of the film, and I have no notes on that.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: And you know, the scenes are all beautiful, especially the new animatronics are great, but I just think the attraction works so well for families because it combines a very familiar story with classic Disney imagineering.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: And by what I mean by that is like there's some screen work, but for the most part, now it's all animatronic work, and I think that's great.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: And you know, kids get the excitement of seeing their favorite characters come to life while the adults we can appreciate the characters, but also just the stunning scenery and the lighting, and those animatronics are incredible.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: And you know, I you just can't help but smile on that, and I absolutely love it.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: I have a lot of core memories on that attraction.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: I did not know it as Maelstrom, so I have none of that, you know, going on.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: I think that's okay.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: And Frozen is one of my favorite Disney properties.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: Like, I it's one of my favorite films, I love it, and um, I just Adore this attraction.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: So that's why it is a number one for both of us because why not?
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: Why not?
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: Um, what are some of your honorable mentions?
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: I did have a few because I wanted to touch on just briefly.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: I all right.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: Well, honestly, one that I had on my on my Zen list a couple weeks ago, or however long ago that was, uh, maybe last week.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Uh I think it was last week.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: Was it last week?
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: Oh soon we forget.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: Time is a construct.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: Uh, but I, you know, I included in my honorable mention list the uh Kilimanjaro Safari.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Because I just, you know, what a perfect experience to have as a family, sitting in that Jeep, you know, seeing all the seeing all the animals, and it's different every time, and just is sort of like experiencing the world and nature, and I I think that is an excellent family attraction.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: Uh, I also included the alien swirling saucers because I had not ridden them until a couple of trips ago, and they really are quite fun.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: You get you know, yeah, now that also brings into into play maters' junkyard jamboree if you get out to California Adventure.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: Because I those are maybe even a little more fun, but the principle is the same.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: You're getting flung around by some aliens, and I just think it's I think it's a lot of fun.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: So those two things made my honorable mention list.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: What about yours?
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I added Kilimanjaro Safaris on an honorable mention list as well, um, for the similar reasons, but then I also have it's a small world, um, didn't make my list, but it's on there.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: And I have Haunted Mansion and Pirates on there, largely because they those have been family attractions for me and my little trio um for years.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: And so it did cross my mind.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: I I remember being scared of going in the haunted mansion when I was a kid.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: I I really wasn't sure what I thought, and clearly now I I have come a long way in my love for that attraction, but I do understand that still the idea is kind of scary for kids, and so I I didn't necessarily include it, although I certainly do believe it is a is a delightful family attraction, as long as your kids are not terrified by it.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: And again, if if your children are calmed by cannon fire, then I I'm sure they will enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: Because you're right, nothing is really scary, you know, it's things things are more humorous in there, and as long as you're not scared of fire, I guess.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: Fire could be scary, or water or boats.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: Or water or boats or or cannonballs, but otherwise it's it's a very zen attraction.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and the other thing that I just occurred to me that we both left off flawless is under the sea.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: I'm kind of surprised.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: Um I think I think they need to fix Ariel's hair before it really starts making the lists.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, I know she's not Dairy Queen hair anymore, but I it yeah, I somehow feel that that was just a bit of a misstep, maybe.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: It's it's a fun attraction.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: It just seems to be the one that yeah, the one that people do because it's almost always got a short wait.
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: And there's probably a reason for that, but I I don't know.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: It's it's still a good attraction, you are correct.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: And I and I do love the memes where it's like I told my boss I had to go to a wedding this week, and it's you know a picture of that one, and I've seen those.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: So um, all right.
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: Well that's good.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: Okay, but what's it?
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: Anything else that we yeah, yeah.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: I know, but I was I was thinking, and this, you know, we're not talking about Disneyland as much, but I do think that if we were talking Disneyland, I think Small World would have made it.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: And I think Winnie the Pooh might have like Winnie the Pooh still would have been high, because I think Disneyland's Winnie the Pooh might be better than Disney World's.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: Well, and it's certainly more terrifying if you turn around and see those country bear heads on the wall.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: Not that they're the bears.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, but that is that is one of the most disturbing things you will ever not be able to unsee.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: And therefore, I don't believe I could, in good conscience, put the Disneyland Winnie the Pooh attraction on a list for families because that will scar your children if you let them turn around.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: And who would just look at the happy bear eating his honey and don't think a thing about the glassy-eyed trio that's staring in the back of your head.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: Well, until Jens buys them and puts them in the bar, which you never know with him.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: So, but that would that would at least be a friendly atmosphere to which they are accustomed and belong.
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: And and Jens would probably wire them so that they said things.
- 27:31SPEAKER_01: Maybe inappropriate things, but I bet they'd say things.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Uh, gents.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: Hello to you, Jens.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, man.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, if somebody wanted to go experience these family attractions, there's there's quite a bit going on at the Disney World.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: And there is.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: The holiday season things have been announced.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: It's still not too late to get there for Halloween season.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Heck, it's not too late to get there for the summer.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: And you can combine it by going to Mickey's not so scary Halloween party in early August this year.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: So Halloween just comes earlier and earlier, don't it?
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Every single year, yes.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: But I guess I would actually there are Facebook groups of people that start decorating now.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Like July 5th, I guess, is like the the day that Halloween begins for a lot of people and they start decorating.
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, really?
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: You know, Disney's early.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: It it really is earlier this year, too.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: It's like crazy early.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: So my theory is if that's your favorite holiday and you need that holiday, absolutely let the window last.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: I I I get to keep up my Christmas decorations.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: My my garland.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: Jackie lets me keep it up from I put it up in the first week of November when I get back from New Mexico, and it gets to stay up through my birthday.
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: So, you know, a a good three months, a quarter of the year-ish.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: I I do the same.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: I decorate for the holidays early November, and it stays up till usually February.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Because I need nothing wrong with that.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: I need the happiness.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: But uh, if you're interested in using Mr.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: McCall's services, because oh right, that's where this started.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Um, you can follow him.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: What's your handle?
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: It's hurry back to Sean on Instagram.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: Hurry back to Sean on Instagram.

- 29:51SPEAKER_01: See, yeah, you work that way.
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, hopefully you will tell us about your last trip at some point.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: I know, I know it's problematic getting the women in your life to sit down with you and record, but well, because they're back at the lake house again this week.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: And so yeah, I thought about doing it via Zoom, and then I was like, I'm not gonna do that.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: I will wait for them to come back, and then I'm gonna sit them both down and be like, listen, let's do this before we all forget.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: Before they forget the details.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: But so you know what?
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: This is always a pleasure, my friend.
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: I concur.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: And uh to you, we say bye, you friends, and we will see you really.
