- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Hello, hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of the podcast.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: I'm going to apologize in advance if I sound a bit nasally today.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: I'm a bit sniffly.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna try not to sniffle as I record this.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, I'm a little bit sniffly, a little bit stuffed up, but I wanted to get this episode for you because it's been highly requested.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: So today we are diving into how to overcome sugar addiction, binge eating, disordered eating.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, and kind of diving into all of the causes that could be contributing, but you're also gonna see in this episode kind of how one thing feeds off of another, and that's why it's probably not just one thing for you, it's probably a combo, it's probably more than one of these things.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: But hopefully, this way at least you can now become aware um of you know how to ever overcome it, what's kind of been contributing it, and some things that you can start to do to heal it.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: So I have some brief notes, but knowing me, I'm probably gonna jump all over because, like I said, it's all interconnected in this web, but yeah, we're gonna understand it.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna start off kind of with more of the physical things, and then I'm gonna dive into the emotional causes.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Because you guys know with me, I do the physical and I do the emotional, but they also feed off of each other, so you're gonna see that.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: So let's start off with gut health.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: If you have poor gut health, you are going to struggle with sugar.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: That is because all of the bad gut bacteria, all those pesky little like bad guys that are probably also making you bloated, have con either constipation or diarrhea, um, and other kind of gut health issues, they feed off of sugar.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: So they're gonna signal to your body, give me food, give me food, because they want that quick sugar, because that's what helps them thrive.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: They don't want to die, they want to thrive, even though it feels shitty because you're bloated and/or constipation, diarrhea, whatever, um, which one you are, but you're gonna have a sugar addiction because your body has those bad gut bacteria that independent of like your willpower or anything like that, are constantly telling you sugar, sugar, sugar.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: And that's where it can get really frustrating because you're in this never-ending cycle of needing sugar, wanting sugar so much, but it's not actually not really like a willpower thing or really a fault of your own.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: It's because you have bad gut bacteria that are like, give me sugar, please, I need to eat, because that's what they feed off of, right?
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: They're not feeding off of like healthy avocado, they want the candy, they want the cakes, they want all of that kind of stuff, right?
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: So it's very important when we're thinking about sugar to think about gut health.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Gut health also ties in, we're gonna tie this kind of into disordered eating and kind of your relationship with food, because when you do not have good emotional gut health.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: And what I mean by emotional gut health is issues in your solar plexus, in your sacral chakra, and in your root chakra, kind of the lower three ones, you're gonna have issues in your health.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: Now, we only have issues in these energy and emotional centers when we haven't released the trauma that we need to release, and when we're storing these emotions in our gut.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: So when we store these emotions in our gut, then our gut is not thriving.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: It's not, you know, asking us for like fermented sauerkraut.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: It's going to ask for that sugar.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: And then when it asks for that sugar, then that's when we kind of get into the binge cycles and the disordered eating, because then maybe you indulge in sugar.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: Maybe you go off the deep end, you indulge, indulge, indulge, then you feel bad, you feel guilt.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Guilt is stored in the second chakra, which is like right near your belly button, and then that energy center gets depleted.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: So then you feel bad about yourself.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: So then what do you need?
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: You more need more sugar because you need something to feel good, and sugar gives you that high, but then it feeds like bad gut bacteria that are making you bloated.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: And just in gut health alone, we can see how it's kind of tied to sugar, how it's tied to a poor relationship with food, and how they feed off of each other, and you can get stuck in this vicious cycle.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: So the next thing I kind of want to touch on is your liver.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Your liver is responsible for detoxing.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Yes, your liver detoxes naturally.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: However, almost everyone I come across, everyone who joins one-on-one, needs some sort of liver support just by the fact that our system has been bombarded with so many toxins in our day-to-day life.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: And especially if you haven't been on a liver cleanse before, you haven't properly supported your liver, even switching to like clean makeup, clean, you know, products and all that, your liver can be backlogged from a long time depending on your history.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: If you use uh Advil or Tylenol, your liver definitely needs support.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: If you've been on the birth control, your liver is gonna need support, it's sluggish.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: If you've been on lots of antibiotics, your liver is sluggish.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Um, if I said the birth control pill, um other things, toxins in your makeup and all that, that's gonna, you know, back up your liver.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: And then if you have not processed emotions, that is going to back up your liver.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: So your liver literally gets backed up by both a physical and emotional component.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: If your liver is overburdened, again, this is when you are not gonna be detoxing properly, and this is gonna contribute to a sugar addiction, a poor relationship with food, and kind of some disordered eating patterns, which is why it is so important to work with all of them, especially because your liver will also help your gut.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: So, in order for your gut to be well, your liver needs to be doing the proper detoxification.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: And in order for your liver to detox properly, it cannot be bombarded with tons of toxins through, yes, your skin, but also your gut and other things, right?
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: So this is why it all kind of ties into one another.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: All right, next up we have hormones.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: So major hormones and neurotransmitters are involved in emotional eating, are involved in your relationship with food, are involved in how much you want sugar.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: Sugar down regulates your stress hormones, which makes you more prone to sugar cravings when you're stressed.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: So the stress hormones ramp up your cortisol, which then increases your need for sugar.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: That's why when we're stressed, you immediately want sugar, right?
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: And then it becomes a vicious cycle because when you engage in those cravings or have a binge episode, it triggers a release of dopamine.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: Dopamine is that reward, feel-good hormone makes us feel good, makes us feel accomplished.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: This is why comfort foods taste so good.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: So the sugar has this negative feedback where your body is smart.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: We are very lucky in our day and age that we have food that's readily available.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: We're not in Paleolithic times where the only sugar we came across was if we were able to find berries, and that was very, very seldom.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: And that was like more of a treat, right?
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: We weren't having berries every day.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: Berries were very rare.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: So your body knows, huh, I can walk to the kitchen and get Oreos.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: That's kind of like a lot quicker of a reward than actually like doing the work, releasing the trauma, maybe setting the boundaries or doing what else that we actually deeper have to look at.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: So your body is smart, it's going to try to get it the quickest way that it can.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: And that's why we have this sugar addiction, is because sugar is that instant pleasure that your body can get to trigger a release of dopamine.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: That's why it's very important.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: You guys hear me talk about expanding your nervous system and being able to hold more stress so that your body doesn't have this surge of cortisol, doesn't have this nervous system reaction that makes you go to sugar.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: And then I want to touch on two other kind of like hormones before we dive more into the emotional stuff.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: The first one is leptin.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: So leptin is the hormone that tells your brain to use your body's fat stores for energy.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: And so when your body becomes resistant to leptin, your brain stops recognizing it.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: And so when your brain's not recognizing it, this tricks your brain into thinking that you are starving, which makes you have very frequent strong cravings.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: This is also a sign of like high stress levels, or if you feel like you can't lose weight, like the weight won't come off, or you're rapidly gaining weight, this is probably a sign that you're leptin resistant, and your brain thinks you're starving, so it's going to what?
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: Look for the biggest thing it can to put on weight, which is sugar.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: So again, your body is smart, it's going to signal that.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: And so then you again, this is another component of how your body can be signaling for sugar.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: So between just everything we've mentioned so far, the cortisol, the leptin, the gut health, the liver, you know, and all these other hormones that we're talking about, we can already see how the sugar in our relationship with food and how that can kind of get into disordered eating.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: So I just wanted to jump in here and let you guys know that I have heard the invitation.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: So in true projector fashion, which is my human design, I have had so many requests for you guys to see what it's like to work with me one-on-one in a single session.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Now, normally you have to work with me in my three-month container to see me one-on-one and have access to all of my knowledge, training, expertise, and psychic abilities.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: However, that is no longer the case.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: I am opening intuitive alignment sessions where I combine the woo, the feminine, the match path, and make it an unforgettable session that is going to change your entire life, frequency, body, and mindset.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: There are so many things we can bring into alignment in these sessions.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Think health, wellness, spirituality, money, relationships, manifesting, business, career, baby, I got you.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: And I know that one of these sessions can change your life.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: So many people have already had profound shifts in just one session with me.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: So if you know you've been craving to get into my world and haven't been able to, this is your chance.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: I'm opening limited spots.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: So after they are gone, they will be closing until I have more space in my calendar and open them back up.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: So if you are curious and ready to expand, you've been wanting to work with me one-on-one and kind of see what that's like, definitely head to the link in the description and book one.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: So I also want to touch on insulin because insulin is a big one when it comes to sugar and cravings.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: Because just like leptin resistance, insulin resistance is not a hormonal deficiency, but a hormonal resistance pattern.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: So sometimes people make the mistake of only thinking about insulin when it comes to type 2 diabetics.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: Insulin is an issue in honestly, so many different conditions: PCOS, hormonal issues, weight, sugar cravings, um, fatigue, especially fatigue after eating, being really agitated, upset or nervous, um irritable, dependence on coffee, kind of like lightheadedness if you miss a meal.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: Number one thing when I'm working with people in one-on-one, if they cannot make it like a solid, even you should make it a solid four or five hours without getting lightheaded or shaky with from a meal.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: If not, you're well, A, you're probably not eating enough, or B, we're not eating the right things, and we kind of need to work on some of your insulin resistance.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: So what this means is that your body's producing insulin, but the insulin is not doing what it should.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: It's not shuttling the blood sugar into your cells when you can use it.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: Instead, this is leading to a cascade reaction where your body is not doing what it's supposed to with the insulin, and then you're gonna get a lot more sugar cravings because your body is resistant to the insulin.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: So let's kind of like tie this into some of the other things the feminine, um, the emotional.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: One more thing, actually, that I want to touch on is not eating enough will also make well, a disordered eating and also a sugar addiction, right?
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: Because if you are trying to get healthy from a place of restriction, you are not eating enough, that is going to wreak havoc on your leptin, on your insulin, which we know we don't want that.
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: It's not gonna make you feel full, and then you're gonna come home, you know, at seven o'clock at night and want to eat the whole cupboard.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: If that is you, that means you're probably not eating enough if it's coming from a true like hunger spot.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: You need to make sure you're eating enough protein, healthy fats, and fiber, all of those good things.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: If you need help with healthier eating, definitely jump into healthier you because it's gonna just teach you how to do that and kind of overcome this.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: But you need to make sure that you're eating enough because that is like the number one thing when I'm looking at people to overcome like sugar and all this.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: I need to make sure you're eating enough so that we not kind of like the physical, all right, you're getting enough nutrients in now.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's emotional, we'll also support your gut, your liver, and all of that.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: So let's kind of like touch on some of the emotional.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: When it comes to your relationship with food, when you are craving sugar, you are lacking a sweetness for life.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: You are not getting the pleasure out of life that you need, so you're going to it for food.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: Now, this is also coupled with denying yourself, kind of like rude self-rejection, lack of self-love, extreme fear.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Um I need to punish yourself, which I know you're thinking, like, live, I'm not punishing myself.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: However, a lot of the times when we're in the cycle, it's the punishment after like the the binge episodes or the sugar episodes or disordered eating that then like send us into that vicious cycle, right?
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Because we feel the guilt and the shame for having done that.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: Um, lack of trust in yourself, lack of confidence, fear of what we said, fear of rejection, but fear of rejection and looking foolish, all of these emotional things are tied to disordered eating, are tied to your relationship with food, and are tied to your sugar addiction.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: So you need to make sure that you are looking at the emotional roots because let's say we get you eating enough.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: If you're not looking at the emotional roots, this is when it's going to continue to foster.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: Because if you're lacking a sweetness for your life, if you do not like your job and your friends kind of suck, and maybe you've gone through a breakup or you don't have the relationship that you want, and you're maybe not living in the house that you want, and all of this kind of stuff, your brain's gonna like we know now, go to that quick dopamine, it's gonna go to sugar for that.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: So the number one thing to ask yourself when you're thinking about sugar and emotions is where am I lacking the sweetness for life?
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: What's lacking sweetness in your life?
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: Is it your job?
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: Is it you know where you live?
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: Is it your friends?
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Is it what is it?
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: Or maybe it's a lack of those things, right?
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: And so you're lacking the sweetness because those things aren't prevalent or aren't what you want them to be, right?
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: So you really need to think about everythingle, everythingle, every single thing I said because the emotions that I'm mentioning are the core root.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: Because all of these emotions are also stored in your gut, these are stored in your liver, and these are influencing your hormones.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: So the physical, the hormones, the gut affect all of these things, all of your these emotions, and then the emotions affect the physical, right?
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: Because the emotions play that web into it and influence how you secrete your hormones, how you do this, how you do that.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: Because when we're blocked up from not releasing these things, that's when your body's gonna go to the quick fixes or try to, unless you stop it, unless you you're you can acknowledge that, hey body, like I hear what you're trying to say.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: What is it that you actually need?
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: So I want you to think about what emotion are you suppressing that I've mentioned so far and what has happened to make you not like yourself because the core of all the disordered eating where we're talking, um, binge, believe me, anorexia, we're talking about there's this degree of not loving yourself, of self-rejection, um, or fear of rejection, looking foolish, um, lack of self-love, punishing.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: There is like there's worthiness work to be done there.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: And of course, this ties into a per poor relationship with the feminine or your feminine energy.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: I always say, you maybe heard me say this before, your relationship with your food is a reflection of your relationship to the feminine.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: The feminine is that flowy, intuitive, lit up, magnetic, feels so good in herself energy.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: If you are not feeling those things, then you're gonna have a poor relationship with food.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: So if you have a poor relationship with the food, this is a chance for you to explore where your feminine energy is lacking, why.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Um, I do have a few podcast episodes on that.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: So I would go back and listen to the ones on feminine energy.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: I have a couple more on sugar that kind of dive deeper.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: Um, and yeah, I do have a few in the feminine.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: So go listen to that, go listen to the emotional ones.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: There's so many good, like little juicy things in there that I want you guys to listen to.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: We're kind of doing an overarching because this was a common question I was getting on Instagram.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: So I wanted to like give you cold's notes of each of them, but we can already start to see how those all feed off of one another and how you can't just solve one.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: You need to support your gut, you need to support your liver.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: So you need to get, okay, for the gut, is there a bacterial over?
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: Like work with someone, work with someone like me, a natural path who can like see, is there an overbalance, you know, of bag of bacteria?
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Okay, let's call that off.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: Liver.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: Do you have liver sluggish symptoms?
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: How can we support your liver?
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: Have you cleaned out your products or lately?
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: Like, do you have a history of birth control or using Advil or you know, not processing your emotions?
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Beautiful.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Let's do some trauma release, let's process your emotions.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: What are your hormones like?
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: Did what I say about leptin or insulin resonate?
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: If so, alright, this is a sign that you need to eat better for blood sugar, which means you need to be A, eating enough and you need to be getting proper nutrients, which means, unfortunately, the sugar is going to make the insulin and the leptin situations worse.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: So part of overcoming the sugar addiction is you cannot unfortunately give in because the more you give in to the sugar addiction, the more it is going to perpetuate.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: But then you can also be doing the emotional stuff.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: So, where are you lacking sweetness for life?
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: Because if you are in a job you hate and you come home and you hate your job and it's been shitty all day, yeah, you're gonna go to the cupboard for cakes and cookies and all that because your body's gonna need something to make it feel better because of the shitty time it's had.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: And unfortunately, no fault of us, but we grow up learning to we're given a lollipop or at the doctor's office when you get a you know um a shot or you get taken out for ice cream, like you learn from a young age that when I feel bad, sugar makes it better.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: Like, I right?
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: It's crazy when we think about that, but that's kind of like the reason why your brain associates that.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: So we need to break that cycle.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: We need to find out what are the emotions for you that are contributing to your disordered eating, that are stopping you from being your feminine, that are making you crave sugar.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: What do we need to change and shift?
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: What has happened to you in the past that we kind of need to release?
- 20:41SPEAKER_01: And what does that new embodied version look like?
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: What made you bel like lack your self-love?
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: What made you um fear rejection?
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Who rejected you?
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: You know, are you still rejecting yourself?
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Because ultimately nobody can reject you unless you reject you.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: So if you're if you know you have a fear rejection, this is me pushing you and telling you that you're rejecting yourself, at least on some level.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: And you need to start looking at all of these things.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: You cannot just look at one if you want to overcome it.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: This is not a willpower thing.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: This is not, oh, I wish I had more willpower.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: I wish I had more self-discipline.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: Because your body is chemically running the show against you if we're like having the hormone issues, the liver issues, the gut issues, and it's also running against you because the emotions in your body are just taking up such a large proportion that it's no wonder your willpower and discipline is not enough.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: And then like the shame and guilt that comes afterwards, right?
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Which is only gonna perpetuate the cycle.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: So, this is why it is so important to do kind of all the physical and all the emotional stuff together.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: If you have any questions about anything I said, please send me a DM because I want to make sure this is crystal clear for you to understand.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: Your relationship with food is your relationship to everything I just said, your relationship with the feminine, your gut, your liver, your hormones, making sure you're eating enough, processing your emotions, lacking sweetness for life, and all of this.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: Alright, guys, I hope that was helpful.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: Like I said, any questions, let me know, and I will see you guys in the next episode.
