- 0:00Speaker 1: And now move the Sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:07Speaker 2: What's up, everybody, welcome to move the Sticks, DJ, Bucky
- 0:09Speaker 2: and Baldy back on a Monday, Baldi before we get
- 0:12Speaker 2: to NFL Action, which we got a lot of stuff
- 0:14Speaker 2: to break down here. Yeah, well college action and Saturday
- 0:18Speaker 2: huh yeah.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I did some double dip and I did the Texas
- 0:21Speaker 1: OU game. I got to offer a couple of weeks
- 0:25Speaker 1: ago and I'm like, I don't. I had to. I said,
- 0:27Speaker 1: I don't care about Sunday. I just want to get
- 0:29Speaker 1: to Dallas and being a cowboy being down there in
- 0:32Speaker 1: that atmosphere, it's best.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Week of the year.
- 0:33Speaker 1: But honestly, I mean, Archie Manning played great, best game
- 0:37Speaker 1: he's played so far, as you know as a young player.
- 0:39Speaker 1: But what the atmosphere is unreal, the players, the level
- 0:43Speaker 1: talking to uh you know Sark before the game, like
- 0:46Speaker 1: there's there's just there's just nothing like that atmosphere. Half
- 0:50Speaker 1: the Bowl is you know, forty five thousand is Texas,
- 0:53Speaker 1: forty five thousands of Oklahoma and they can't be more enthusiastic.
- 0:57Speaker 3: So it was it was just great to be a
- 0:59Speaker 3: part of it.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Well, it has to be amazing to watch Texas bounced
- 1:04Speaker 4: back from a disappointing low. We we lost, we poured
- 1:07Speaker 4: dirt on them, and then they come back and knock
- 1:09Speaker 4: off a top ten team.
- 1:10Speaker 1: And it's unbelievable, Buck, because I mean, we're gonna get
- 1:14Speaker 1: to this because it's the same thing on Sunny. But
- 1:15Speaker 1: it comes down to coaching, like they they coached those
- 1:18Speaker 1: kids up at Texas, Like they got destroyed by Florida
- 1:22Speaker 1: the week before.
- 1:22Speaker 3: The offensive line was awful.
- 1:24Speaker 1: They couldn't bet any better against a really good defensive
- 1:26Speaker 1: front in Oklahoma yesterday. And the running back when Trevy
- 1:30Speaker 1: and Wisner mat kids, I don't know, he's player, just
- 1:34Speaker 1: looks like a player, man.
- 1:35Speaker 5: Yeah, they got some dudes.
- 1:36Speaker 2: By the way, tomorrow's show, ut Rhett is going to
- 1:40Speaker 2: come in hot after the Who's Just Go Oregon?
- 1:43Speaker 3: No doubt, Baldy.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I was wearing Oregon gloves on the episode last week
- 1:46Speaker 2: and making a lot of him, I mean on there.
- 1:50Speaker 3: With you know, with uh, you know ESPN, like thinking
- 1:53Speaker 3: like this thing is going.
- 1:53Speaker 2: To be a lot of fun victory lap, a lot
- 1:55Speaker 2: of victory laps before that game because f Stone cold
- 1:58Speaker 2: killer Signetti, give you met him, or know him at all.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I don't know him, but I can't wait to like
- 2:03Speaker 3: find out more.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Like I'm just learning, you know, I don't know much
- 2:06Speaker 1: about his history, but I'm obviously what he's doing is amazing.
- 2:09Speaker 5: I think.
- 2:10Speaker 4: I don't know if you guys got a chance to
- 2:11Speaker 4: watch it, but I would say it was one of
- 2:12Speaker 4: the best coaching jobs I've seen. In fact, after the
- 2:15Speaker 4: game had the handshake, Dan Lanning said, many freaking coach.
- 2:19Speaker 5: Well, like, I mean, it was, it was outstanding.
- 2:22Speaker 4: And to think about the quarterback that Cale didn't want
- 2:24Speaker 4: him and Dooze who bounced around the end of in
- 2:26Speaker 4: Indiana and he played really well. He had a big
- 2:28Speaker 4: pick six that almost cost him but came right back.
- 2:32Speaker 4: And look, man, I hate it because we have to
- 2:35Speaker 4: hear about it from Rep. But they are I mean,
- 2:37Speaker 4: they're a really good football team. They are from top
- 2:39Speaker 4: to bottom. Well, coach got really good players to buy in.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Is great.
- 2:43Speaker 4: And my man, who was bodacious, he backs it up
- 2:48Speaker 4: to do it at.
- 2:48Speaker 1: School, because it happens at North Carolina, happens to Duke,
- 2:50Speaker 1: it happens in Kentucky. These basketball schools can never get
- 2:54Speaker 1: the football thing figured out.
- 2:56Speaker 3: And he's doing it at a school that literally is.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Just all basketball, like they like it was an afterthought,
- 3:03Speaker 1: you know, playing football and Bloomington.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:05Speaker 2: No, he's got a rolling and I got to believe
- 3:07Speaker 2: that he made himself a lot of money. Is there
- 3:09Speaker 2: anything better if you're his agent to have him win
- 3:12Speaker 2: against Oregon vault to number three in the country the
- 3:14Speaker 2: same weekend that Penn State fires their head coach. He's
- 3:17Speaker 2: getting a lot of money, whether it's from Indiana, Penn State.
- 3:20Speaker 1: He's got his pick, whatever job he wants right now,
- 3:23Speaker 1: he's going to have his pick.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Yep, he's gonna make some cash. R Let's get to
- 3:26Speaker 2: the NFL. Yeah, let's start Sunday night Detroit. Casey, I
- 3:29Speaker 2: was flying back, so I watched this this morning. But Baldy,
- 3:32Speaker 2: I'll tu up on that one. First, go wherever the
- 3:34Speaker 2: heck you want to go on that one.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I took it. I took a lot of notes on
- 3:36Speaker 3: this game. Mahomes is unreal.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I mean, we can't stop raving about his ability to
- 3:43Speaker 1: see the whole field, to make plays that aren't there,
- 3:46Speaker 1: and then they have I would love to see Andy
- 3:51Speaker 1: Reid's playbook because it's got to be the most expansive
- 3:54Speaker 1: thing ever, like he has so many just one off plays.
- 3:58Speaker 1: They start the third quarter, they run this screen. I
- 4:00Speaker 1: hadn't seen him run before the Braven Smith like he
- 4:03Speaker 1: starts the first the third quarter, they go right down
- 4:06Speaker 1: the field score to get a drive starter two minute drill.
- 4:09Speaker 1: At the end of the first half, right down the field,
- 4:11Speaker 1: they're down, you know, ten to six. Take the lead,
- 4:14Speaker 1: get the ball. In the third quarter, go right down
- 4:16Speaker 1: the field. Score its goes from thirteen six to twenty
- 4:18Speaker 1: to ten.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Like that.
- 4:20Speaker 1: They never surrendered it. I'm not sure how this happens.
- 4:24Speaker 1: They didn't have a penalty in the game.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, like the first time in a long time.
- 4:28Speaker 5: But we've seen that.
- 4:29Speaker 3: But you know, I mean penalties.
- 4:30Speaker 1: That offensive line has been committing and always putting the
- 4:33Speaker 1: homes in the offense, and they didn't do any of that.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Detroit. You know, the offense is still good.
- 4:39Speaker 1: They still do a lot of nice things, but they're
- 4:41Speaker 1: lining up defensively right now, DJ, go back and look
- 4:44Speaker 1: at your notes. Rocter Si meet Robertson and authored morlet.
- 4:49Speaker 1: That's the three corners that Kansas City has.
- 4:51Speaker 5: Not a lot of size there, not size.
- 4:54Speaker 1: They're just bodies, you know, and so that's what they're
- 4:57Speaker 1: stuck with right now. And they just they just torched
- 5:00Speaker 1: him in that game. And the other thing I wanted
- 5:02Speaker 1: to say was, Travis Kelsey looks like he's all the
- 5:06Speaker 1: way back, like all the routes that were used to
- 5:09Speaker 1: seeing him run the burst, you know, two defenders ready
- 5:13Speaker 1: to tackle him right here, the spin away from him,
- 5:15Speaker 1: just to feel, you know, in zone coverage like.
- 5:18Speaker 3: He's he's back.
- 5:19Speaker 1: And you said it two weeks ago, like when Xavier
- 5:21Speaker 1: Worthy went out there. The offense changed three weeks in
- 5:24Speaker 1: a row. Right now, this thing is lighting up.
- 5:27Speaker 5: You know what.
- 5:28Speaker 4: I found it interesting in that game, coming off the
- 5:29Speaker 4: heels of watching it up close and personal on Monday
- 5:32Speaker 4: Night one. Patrick Mahomes is the altar in Maestro in
- 5:35Speaker 4: terms of controlling everything the way to heal, pick and
- 5:38Speaker 4: shoes when he uses his legs to buy time or
- 5:40Speaker 4: to run. But whenever the CANSI the Chiefs backs are
- 5:44Speaker 4: against the wall, it's the same formula fifteen is gonna
- 5:47Speaker 4: find eighty seven. Eighty seven had a turnback the clock game.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Six catches led the team. Juju Smith Schuster was right there.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Pat Mahomes is going to go to the guys that
- 5:59Speaker 4: he relies on the most, and then he still found
- 6:01Speaker 4: a way to keep Hollywood brown zab You're worthy into it.
- 6:06Speaker 4: But he's going to go to his most trusted weapons
- 6:08Speaker 4: and that works for the Kansa City Chiefs. And I say,
- 6:11Speaker 4: this man, they can lose a bunch of games, but
- 6:13Speaker 4: no one wants him to get into the postseason tournament.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Because they get into the tournament, they know how to
- 6:18Speaker 4: win it because Pat Mahomes is going to do whatever
- 6:20Speaker 4: it takes to put his team in a position to
- 6:22Speaker 4: be there at the end.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I'm looking at it, and I again
- 6:28Speaker 2: flying that we didn't have Wi Fi, so I couldn't.
- 6:30Speaker 5: I just found the score when we landed.
- 6:32Speaker 2: So then you get home and then I'm like, I
- 6:33Speaker 2: want to look at the box score to inform how
- 6:35Speaker 2: I want to look at this game, what I want
- 6:36Speaker 2: to study, And I'm looking at the boxer. I'm like,
- 6:38Speaker 2: Mahomes had ten carries. Now you go into it and
- 6:40Speaker 2: there's there's several Nils, so there's some Neil downs in there.
- 6:43Speaker 2: But then I started going down this rabbit hole. He's
- 6:45Speaker 2: got thirty eight carries this year, the most he's ever
- 6:47Speaker 2: had in his career is sixty six. He's going to
- 6:49Speaker 2: blow that out of the water with how much Mahomes
- 6:51Speaker 2: is running this year.
- 6:52Speaker 5: They get they.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Run option down on the goal line, which to me
- 6:54Speaker 2: is still that that's the stuff that we I did
- 6:56Speaker 2: in college. Like that, that is the best. I don't
- 6:58Speaker 2: care what anybody says. I know, push is awesome, but
- 7:00Speaker 2: you're in the two yard line. There's no better play
- 7:03Speaker 2: than speed option. There's nothing because you get two one,
- 7:06Speaker 2: so they mix that in there. He's he's decisive on
- 7:10Speaker 2: scrambles like that. He one of the reasons I think
- 7:12Speaker 2: they don't have any holding penalties is because he's not
- 7:15Speaker 2: just kind of what he used to do a lot
- 7:16Speaker 2: was kind of drift and kind of fade and trying
- 7:19Speaker 2: to wait for something to happen. He's just saying, screw it.
- 7:22Speaker 2: If it ain't there, I'm going, and he's taken off
- 7:24Speaker 2: and running with his legs by well.
- 7:26Speaker 1: You know, one of the things you see from quarterbacks
- 7:28Speaker 1: DJ when you know when there is pressure, and it
- 7:30Speaker 1: wasn't a great deal, but because the Lion played really well,
- 7:33Speaker 1: but when there is pressure, like he never sacks himself.
- 7:37Speaker 3: You know, these quarterbacks run into these sacks.
- 7:39Speaker 1: All we see it every every Sunday, but he never
- 7:42Speaker 1: like his awareness and spatial awareness and like it's it's
- 7:46Speaker 1: second to none.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I mean, Brady had it, but Brady couldn't.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Run like Mahomes can run, like his ability just to
- 7:53Speaker 1: know exactly where he's at find the third or fourth
- 7:56Speaker 1: receiver on the move. And that's the other thing is
- 7:59Speaker 1: there's game and the way that they move Mahomes like
- 8:03Speaker 1: I just wish, I'm just we'll get to it maybe,
- 8:05Speaker 1: but yeah, just watching the Jets, you know, throw for
- 8:09Speaker 1: they don't know one screen, didn't even dial up one
- 8:12Speaker 1: screen the whole game, and against that pass rush, like
- 8:16Speaker 1: the fiercest pass rush, not a screen, and that's all
- 8:20Speaker 1: they do is screen and the quick game in the
- 8:23Speaker 1: perimeter game. That's that's two thirds of what the Chiefs do.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I want to continue that on in one of these
- 8:29Speaker 2: other games, because I think there's a trend you're seeing
- 8:31Speaker 2: with a lot of the smart offensive teams. And I
- 8:33Speaker 2: think you've touched on a little bit there, Baldy. I
- 8:34Speaker 2: want to hit a couple more things before we get
- 8:36Speaker 2: to the next game. Shamari Connor had fourteen tackles. I
- 8:38Speaker 2: went there and watch all that stuff.
- 8:40Speaker 5: You know.
- 8:40Speaker 2: One of the things in talking to offensive coaches that
- 8:42Speaker 2: play against the Chiefs and said, well, you know what's
- 8:45Speaker 2: a challenge. What makes them so difficult defensively is they
- 8:47Speaker 2: said they hold their water better than any other team.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Whatever their late movement is, they will wait till the
- 8:52Speaker 2: last second. And they said, Spags has basically told their
- 8:54Speaker 2: defense if we get caught because we're too late, it's
- 8:57Speaker 2: on me. But I'd rather have to be too late
- 8:59Speaker 2: than too early to hold our water. Another thing is
- 9:01Speaker 2: they rely on a lot of flat footed reads from
- 9:04Speaker 2: those shell looks. So you're at Shamari Connor, you're at
- 9:07Speaker 2: twelve fourteen yards buck as you know, man, you're playing
- 9:10Speaker 2: back there. He's on his toes and there is no
- 9:12Speaker 2: false stepping when they run the ball. He is screaming
- 9:15Speaker 2: downhill to add to the box count. And he is
- 9:17Speaker 2: an excellent tackler, high physical tackler. Again, big time game
- 9:21Speaker 2: from him with fourteen tackles. Also had to tackle on
- 9:24Speaker 2: a kickoff, which I love seeing the guys playing his
- 9:26Speaker 2: guts out on defense. Is still find a way to
- 9:28Speaker 2: go out there and make plays on special teams.
- 9:31Speaker 5: So that was another one.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Of the chief side of things, and then Baldy just
- 9:34Speaker 2: because you had mentioned that previously. James and Williams got
- 9:36Speaker 2: going a little bit. You know, we were watching and
- 9:39Speaker 2: waiting for that to happen, you know, getting him in
- 9:41Speaker 2: the quick games. That speed is so such an advantage
- 9:44Speaker 2: to have somebody like that, because not only can you
- 9:46Speaker 2: get you know, crossers and get runaway routes and use
- 9:49Speaker 2: his speed. He scores on a dig, but as a quarterback,
- 9:51Speaker 2: you just get those now routes anytime you want him because.
- 9:54Speaker 5: You got to respect that. You got to respect the speed.
- 9:56Speaker 2: So there's just baked in easy completions for you there
- 10:00Speaker 2: if you want him and need him and get him.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw it yet, DJ, but
- 10:05Speaker 1: you know at the end of the opening drive to
- 10:07Speaker 1: try and tight Kansas City, they had to throw the
- 10:10Speaker 1: snap to Montgomery and the throw to Jared Goff and
- 10:14Speaker 1: it was nullified. Honestly, like, the rule is a little
- 10:19Speaker 1: it's it's a little obsequious in that you know, if
- 10:23Speaker 1: he touches Graham Glasgow, he's got a reset. If he
- 10:26Speaker 1: doesn't touch him, he just walks up to the center
- 10:28Speaker 1: and then goes out where they you know he was'evered
- 10:32Speaker 1: by the Chiefs. You can make the throw and it's
- 10:34Speaker 1: a touchdown, so it gets called back and you know
- 10:36Speaker 1: it's it's a penalty, and you know they end up
- 10:39Speaker 1: kicking a field goal.
- 10:40Speaker 3: I thought that really hurt him right there.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a I didn't know why it was
- 10:44Speaker 2: called back because I do remember that as a quarterback.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Whenever we do that, you say you can't put your
- 10:47Speaker 2: hands on anybody. You got to be able to just
- 10:49Speaker 2: come up there, keep your hands on your sides. But
- 10:52Speaker 2: we used to do it bully back in the old day,
- 10:54Speaker 2: which was the which was just to sneak me over
- 10:56Speaker 2: to get.
- 10:56Speaker 5: To play, Like hey, I need to play.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Come over here the sideline and then and then turn
- 11:00Speaker 2: up the field hoping nobody's with you. Let's get to
- 11:03Speaker 2: San Francisco, Tampa Bay. I feel like, man, we give
- 11:07Speaker 2: Baker his love on here every week. He just continues
- 11:09Speaker 2: to do it at a high level. But I'll start
- 11:11Speaker 2: it off here on the defensive side of the ball
- 11:13Speaker 2: for Tampa with a couple guys. Dabby had two sacks
- 11:16Speaker 2: in this game. And it's so funny. I saw this
- 11:20Speaker 2: as a theme too, going through and watching a lot
- 11:21Speaker 2: of sacks. Reels from the weekend, you see a lot
- 11:24Speaker 2: of perimeter guys getting sacks as a result of the
- 11:26Speaker 2: car crash from somebody inside.
- 11:28Speaker 5: Vitavea is just like it's a.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Yard sale with what he's doing, and then it just
- 11:32Speaker 2: creates a huge mess. And then you get guys that
- 11:34Speaker 2: come in there clean it up. You watch Seattle, you
- 11:36Speaker 2: see it with Leonard Williams.
- 11:37Speaker 5: He does the same thing.
- 11:38Speaker 2: He creates all kind of a mess and you see
- 11:39Speaker 2: other guys swoop in and clean it up. But the Abby,
- 11:43Speaker 2: you know, we talked about him buck in the draft process,
- 11:45Speaker 2: going back about how you know elite, elite burst and
- 11:48Speaker 2: get off and you put him in Reddick on the
- 11:49Speaker 2: opposite sides like they got a couple of fastballs they
- 11:52Speaker 2: can throw at you with those guys. And then the
- 11:54Speaker 2: other one was Jacob Parrish is a guy I really
- 11:56Speaker 2: liked in the draft corners playing really well for them
- 11:58Speaker 2: at a case state. He is physical and tough. I
- 12:01Speaker 2: went back through and was looking through my notes on him.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I forgot he ran He was five zho nine six
- 12:06Speaker 2: one uh so just under five teen ran four three five,
- 12:10Speaker 2: And on my notes I'm looking at him like outside, compact,
- 12:13Speaker 2: muscled up and fast. He can open, turn and explode
- 12:16Speaker 2: plays with excellent effort. He'll take on guards. He's he's
- 12:19Speaker 2: an awesome tackler in space. Everything he does is very
- 12:22Speaker 2: firm and sure. And then you see this game, you
- 12:24Speaker 2: watch him fill up in the hole against Christian McCaffrey,
- 12:26Speaker 2: and it's just like Christian McCaffrey is a strong, dude, baldy.
- 12:29Speaker 2: He hits him, he hits a stalemate and he ain't
- 12:31Speaker 2: going on.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I remember, I remember during training camp, Jason Light hit
- 12:34Speaker 1: me up with the text saying that he thought Jacob
- 12:37Speaker 1: Paris was not just the best rookie, he thought he
- 12:41Speaker 1: was the best defensive player in training shas throughout preseason
- 12:46Speaker 1: because he can play obviously, he can play inside, he
- 12:48Speaker 1: can play outside, you know, and he's he's a great tackler,
- 12:51Speaker 1: as you're just pointing out. But he thought he was
- 12:54Speaker 1: the best defensive player through training camp.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Yeah, he's been awesome. He has been awesome.
- 13:00Speaker 4: And then I give Toybos a lot of credit because
- 13:01Speaker 4: they have gotten the right pieces to fit that defensive puzzle.
- 13:05Speaker 4: We talked about the right kind of dbs, dbs that
- 13:07Speaker 4: are physical on the perimeter, that can bliss, that can
- 13:09Speaker 4: bring a bunch of different things, and it allows them
- 13:11Speaker 4: to continue to expand because I'll say this knowing Todd,
- 13:15Speaker 4: there's not a blister he hasn't found it that he
- 13:17Speaker 4: won't put in the game plan and he'll attack you
- 13:20Speaker 4: with it. So I love their aggressiveness while still trying
- 13:23Speaker 4: to retain the safeness of being in a zone. But
- 13:26Speaker 4: on offense, in this offense, when they get their weapons back,
- 13:30Speaker 4: they didn't have a booker for a big part of it, Like.
- 13:32Speaker 5: With the kid's going to be out for a little bit,
- 13:34Speaker 5: Like JA have to wait on him for a little bit.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Did either one of you know who Cameron Johnson is?
- 13:39Speaker 5: Yeah? Is he a rookie?
- 13:41Speaker 3: He's a free agent. He was a free agent, but
- 13:43Speaker 3: I think he was in the league last year.
- 13:45Speaker 1: But I mean, like Abuka goes out, Cameron Johnson comes in,
- 13:48Speaker 1: Baker's throwing it to him, you know, for one big
- 13:50Speaker 1: playoff anoe not to.
- 13:52Speaker 5: Mention Ted john how about.
- 13:57Speaker 1: It's amazing that guys that size can still be disimpactful
- 14:01Speaker 1: in this league like his Like I don't know if
- 14:03Speaker 1: you can even see him down the field, but he's unbelievable.
- 14:07Speaker 1: They've been shorthanded all year and Baker, you know, it
- 14:10Speaker 1: was third and fourteen yesterday and Bryce Huff and Michael
- 14:14Speaker 1: Williams they've got him sacked for a ten yard loss.
- 14:17Speaker 1: And I don't know how he got out of it,
- 14:18Speaker 1: but now that you get out of it, he broke
- 14:20Speaker 1: two tackles and then extended the ball. You know, it's
- 14:22Speaker 1: a twenty nineteen game like this is like forty nine
- 14:26Speaker 1: ers get the ball back there, who knows what's gonna happen,
- 14:29Speaker 1: and he just makes one incredible play after another.
- 14:37Speaker 5: How about Dallas Carolina? Buck this one? Man, Carolina?
- 14:41Speaker 2: I feel like every time with Bryce and with Carolina
- 14:44Speaker 2: and uh and that team there, you know it's over
- 14:47Speaker 2: and you got to figure this thing out. And then
- 14:50Speaker 2: he survives. But man, he got a nice aid from
- 14:52Speaker 2: his running back Rico Daddle. That was the pissed off
- 14:54Speaker 2: game for him coming back to Dallas. Holy cow, o.
- 14:57Speaker 5: Man about being peed off to come back in. He
- 15:01Speaker 5: said they better buckle up.
- 15:02Speaker 2: And they asked him after the game, well, and he said, yep, no,
- 15:04Speaker 2: they didn't buckle up.
- 15:06Speaker 4: I mean, you know what was crazy is because I
- 15:10Speaker 4: kind of treated the big game that the head last
- 15:11Speaker 4: weekause of one off, like, man, can he really replicate it? Uh?
- 15:14Speaker 5: But motivation and adrenaline can go a long way.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Terrific game for him, had over one hundred and eighty
- 15:19Speaker 4: yards thirty carries, kind of stabilized the Russian attack. And
- 15:23Speaker 4: what we're seeing with Bryce Young the run game going.
- 15:25Speaker 5: It just frees him up to be able to play effectively.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Off freefession or without the rest because everyone is focused
- 15:32Speaker 4: on the Russian attack. And man, the Panthers, as soon
- 15:36Speaker 4: as you're ready to pour dirt on them, here.
- 15:38Speaker 5: They come again.
- 15:39Speaker 4: It's the cat that has nine lives sending a three
- 15:41Speaker 4: and three. And I don't know if any of us
- 15:44Speaker 4: legitimately thought that the Panthers would already have three wins
- 15:46Speaker 4: by this point of the season.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Well, I went back and watched his runs, and you
- 15:51Speaker 1: got to give credit Brady Christensen playing right guard, Kane Mays,
- 15:54Speaker 1: you know, backup center, and there's been played Grid last
- 15:57Speaker 1: year playing great right now, Like that group up front, Ye,
- 16:01Speaker 1: Damian Lewis is is an absolute beast, but they're playing
- 16:03Speaker 1: without Robert Hunt, probably their best offensive lineman. But like
- 16:07Speaker 1: to the way that they're running, whether it's toss crack
- 16:09Speaker 1: right now, or running power. It was impressed. Now he
- 16:12Speaker 1: broke a bunch of tackles and they blocked the safety
- 16:15Speaker 1: in the hole, and you know, the tight ends were
- 16:17Speaker 1: really involved with it.
- 16:18Speaker 3: But that was impressed. On the other side, though, they
- 16:21Speaker 3: shut down Javonte Williams, who had a.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Great week the week before. And I don't know if
- 16:25Speaker 1: there's a defensive tackle playing better than Derek Brown this league.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I mean, just he's just a man child inside right now, possessed.
- 16:32Speaker 1: But A'shawn Robinson, Like you look at the whole group,
- 16:35Speaker 1: Pat Jones, like they're playing really well in the trenches
- 16:38Speaker 1: on that team right now. And it's been going on
- 16:40Speaker 1: for the last month. I know they off to rocky start.
- 16:43Speaker 1: The quarterback has some deficiencies, but you know, and then
- 16:46Speaker 1: you know Ted Mack, you know, caught the two touchdown
- 16:49Speaker 1: passes and you know, one of them he had to
- 16:51Speaker 1: uncover for Bryce to find, you know, which was a
- 16:54Speaker 1: big play.
- 16:55Speaker 3: I thought they took the Cowboys apart.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to. I knew you guys would get
- 16:59Speaker 2: hit the running back stuff. That's why I wanted to
- 17:00Speaker 2: watch the Bryce stuff because I was curious on that.
- 17:02Speaker 2: And this is I'll bring this back to discussion we
- 17:04Speaker 2: were having a little bit earlier because I felt like,
- 17:06Speaker 2: and going through a lot of these games really the
- 17:08Speaker 2: last couple of weeks, I feel like there's some trends
- 17:09Speaker 2: starting to see over and over again with the smart
- 17:12Speaker 2: teams and how they're playing. When you look at Bryce,
- 17:15Speaker 2: when the under center, when you're under center, you're seeing
- 17:18Speaker 2: play action, and that's when we can try and get
- 17:19Speaker 2: the ball down the field. A lot of times that's
- 17:21Speaker 2: a company with twelve personnel and they've got two tight
- 17:23Speaker 2: ends in there. So we're going to go under center,
- 17:25Speaker 2: we're going to protect it, and it's going to clear
- 17:27Speaker 2: up the looks down the field because you're going to
- 17:29Speaker 2: get more single high stuff and you're going to be
- 17:31Speaker 2: able to find your one on ones and go. And
- 17:33Speaker 2: then when they're in the gun, it's a mixture of
- 17:36Speaker 2: quick game. We're in the gun, we're getting the ball
- 17:37Speaker 2: out quick. It's a mixture of moving the pocket from
- 17:40Speaker 2: the gun. And then there's some screens. It's just getting
- 17:43Speaker 2: the ball out, you know, tight end screens, perimeter screens, getting.
- 17:45Speaker 5: The ball out.
- 17:46Speaker 2: And I feel like, you know, you were talking at
- 17:48Speaker 2: Reverend the Jets earlier, Baldi not throwing a screen, and
- 17:51Speaker 2: I'm like, man, I saw it. And we'll get to
- 17:52Speaker 2: the Charger game here in a little bit, but I
- 17:54Speaker 2: saw it with them, you're down all these offensive linement. Well,
- 17:57Speaker 2: here's what we're going to do. If we want to
- 17:58Speaker 2: get the ball vertical, we're going to get under center.
- 18:00Speaker 5: We're gonna play it.
- 18:01Speaker 2: We're gonna play with multiple tight ends, and that's we're
- 18:03Speaker 2: going to help those guys out. We'll take our shots
- 18:05Speaker 2: when we're just in the gun. We're not going to
- 18:06Speaker 2: be in the same launch point and sit back there
- 18:08Speaker 2: and hold the ball all day long. You're gonna get killed.
- 18:11Speaker 2: So I feel like you're seeing the smart teams play
- 18:13Speaker 2: this very similar brand.
- 18:15Speaker 3: You have to do with DJ.
- 18:16Speaker 1: You have to do it like these teams that just
- 18:18Speaker 1: want to play shotgun football right now, even in the
- 18:21Speaker 1: power running game on short yardage and goal line when
- 18:24Speaker 1: you got to get a yard, because the bad teams
- 18:26Speaker 1: can't make a.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Yard, they don't know how to do it.
- 18:28Speaker 1: They still don't believe they really Outside of the Eagles
- 18:31Speaker 1: doing a Towsch post, you see the good teams how
- 18:33Speaker 1: to gain a yard, short yardage, goal line when they
- 18:35Speaker 1: need a yard, and the bad team still continue to
- 18:38Speaker 1: just screw that play up.
- 18:40Speaker 3: But even like, well, I mean, go for it. Know
- 18:43Speaker 3: what Aaron Glenn was doing on fourth and one?
- 18:45Speaker 5: Yeah, that was bizarre. We're going to leave that game alone.
- 18:47Speaker 5: We're gonna leave that game alone.
- 18:49Speaker 2: But Buck, I to me like, that's that's the kind
- 18:52Speaker 2: of game that that Bryce Young. Like we used to
- 18:54Speaker 2: always talk about trucks and trailers, like, he is not
- 18:56Speaker 2: a truck. He's not going to pull the team, but
- 18:59Speaker 2: he's a functional trick. If you've got all the other pieces,
- 19:01Speaker 2: you can win games with the way he plays because
- 19:03Speaker 2: he makes good decisions, he's playing with poise, he can
- 19:05Speaker 2: get the ball kind of distributed where it needs to go.
- 19:07Speaker 2: He's not going to overwhelm me with physicality. But again,
- 19:10Speaker 2: it's like a two hundred ish yard game. You know
- 19:13Speaker 2: he's going to get you some touchdowns and that with
- 19:16Speaker 2: the run game that they have and the way that
- 19:18Speaker 2: they're playing up front on defense, I know that carved
- 19:20Speaker 2: him up in the back end. But they can be
- 19:22Speaker 2: a five hundred team. That's the formula for them to
- 19:24Speaker 2: be a five hundred team and maybe obviously be a
- 19:26Speaker 2: game over because we have seventeen games now, Yeah, I.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Mean look, there's a path for him. I think they
- 19:31Speaker 4: found a blueprint and identity in doing so. And as
- 19:34Speaker 4: you talk about Bryce Young being able to understand exactly
- 19:38Speaker 4: who he is and how he has to play within
- 19:40Speaker 4: the confines of this team, and that means more managerial
- 19:43Speaker 4: than playmaker. But he is okay with that because his
- 19:46Speaker 4: skill shit, to me, strikes me as more of a
- 19:48Speaker 4: game manager than a playmaker. So if he leans into that,
- 19:52Speaker 4: it allows the other guys to work and they play
- 19:54Speaker 4: complimentary ball with him kind of directing and understanding what
- 19:57Speaker 4: his role is, they can win a lot of games.
- 20:00Speaker 3: All right.
- 20:01Speaker 2: See, if you guys are with me on this, I'm
- 20:02Speaker 2: gonna request that we have a funeral right now, real quick.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I'm gonna and and baldy, I'm gonna refer to this
- 20:08Speaker 2: as the it's gonna sound weird, the butt funeral, okay,
- 20:12Speaker 2: because when it comes to Sam Donald, I'm done with
- 20:15Speaker 2: the butts.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Oh but we'll see what.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Oh but the playoff game come on, man Like, at
- 20:20Speaker 2: some point in time, even if you've been the harshest
- 20:22Speaker 2: Sam Donald critic, this is a long run. He's on
- 20:24Speaker 2: right now playing e leed e leaite football and they
- 20:26Speaker 2: got a big win. Buck, you were there, and Jackson,
- 20:29Speaker 2: I got to let Buck, I'll kick it to you
- 20:30Speaker 2: since you're in the building. But I just, I mean,
- 20:32Speaker 2: I let's just stop. Sam Donald's playing position as well
- 20:35Speaker 2: as anybody in the league right now.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Yeah, he is, and I gotta say there was a
- 20:39Speaker 4: healthy amount of respect for him coming into the game.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Liam Cohn talked about him, lavished praise on him in
- 20:45Speaker 4: terms of how talented he is and how far he's
- 20:47Speaker 4: come as a player field level. What I gotta say this, man,
- 20:52Speaker 4: it's an offense that's well constructed. It's one where early
- 20:55Speaker 4: in the game they they're trying to run the ball
- 20:58Speaker 4: and then do some things. But Ald, he knows this. DJ,
- 21:01Speaker 4: And you've been around it enough to know.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Bald.
- 21:03Speaker 4: You remember in yesteryear when you were practice and if
- 21:06Speaker 4: there was a guy that they were gonna target in
- 21:08Speaker 4: the secondary, they put a yellow penny on him, so
- 21:10Speaker 4: he had the yellow jersey on.
- 21:12Speaker 5: And you would know that there were a handful of
- 21:13Speaker 5: plays on design. Yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 4: So DJ Emerson, no, Greg Newsom comes in over waymen,
- 21:23Speaker 4: he comes in and I think it's doing a it's
- 21:26Speaker 4: doing a break or time out, and so he trots
- 21:29Speaker 4: on to the field and he's standing along their sideline
- 21:33Speaker 4: while it's a break and out.
- 21:35Speaker 5: From far but you can already see.
- 21:39Speaker 6: They break the huddle and JSN runs some kind of
- 21:43Speaker 6: route that's a post and he catches and he is
- 21:47Speaker 6: pulling away from Newsom and I'm like, man, first.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Play, you don't even let him like stretch or do anything.
- 21:55Speaker 5: They throw a bump right over his head.
- 21:57Speaker 4: And it was the beauty of watching the first completions
- 22:00Speaker 4: that Sam Donald had all went to Jackson Smith and
- 22:03Speaker 4: g it wasn't great early. And then the second half,
- 22:07Speaker 4: the first two of the Cooper Cup, big play, big play,
- 22:11Speaker 4: and then they finish it with a cute little bootleg.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Throwback to AJ Barner to win it.
- 22:18Speaker 4: And it's these explosive plays that they script and dial
- 22:21Speaker 4: up that Clink Kubiak got from his dad's playbook, and
- 22:25Speaker 4: it's just and you're just looking at it, like, oh, man,
- 22:28Speaker 4: there seeing.
- 22:29Speaker 2: His yards per attempt, Like for Donald's he's at nine
- 22:34Speaker 2: point six. It's breaking almost ten yards in attempt.
- 22:37Speaker 4: It shot zone, it's pitbull shot, shot, shot, shot, shot shot,
- 22:42Speaker 4: It's all the time. And I'm sitting there on the
- 22:45Speaker 4: sideline like I cannot believe that Sam Donald is dropping
- 22:48Speaker 4: these bombs. But JSN is everything that we talked about
- 22:52Speaker 4: last week. He is unbelievable as a route runner.
- 22:56Speaker 5: He has it and I mean route running. Patient's precision
- 23:01Speaker 5: is great.
- 23:02Speaker 4: That Cooper Cup is there, but there's no doubt the
- 23:04Speaker 4: ball is going to Jackson Smith and Jig.
- 23:06Speaker 5: But when they have they need that out.
- 23:09Speaker 1: You know, when when koop X offense is rolling, man,
- 23:11Speaker 1: it's it's a symphony, you know, and it's it all,
- 23:15Speaker 1: it all goes together, it all flows together. It's uh,
- 23:18Speaker 1: it's it's I would think DJ it's a quarterbacks dream
- 23:21Speaker 1: to play in that offense right now. Now, Sam has
- 23:23Speaker 1: got exceptional skills and allows him to play at a
- 23:27Speaker 1: very consistent level week in week out. But he's he's
- 23:30Speaker 1: in the right offense right now, and he's got the
- 23:32Speaker 1: right playmakers around him. So you know, it's funny, like
- 23:35Speaker 1: you're talking about newsomehow they went right after him. You know,
- 23:38Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers did the same thing. Uh Tyson Campbell. You know,
- 23:41Speaker 1: like it was like, yes, we're gonna put d K
- 23:46Speaker 1: on the new guy and we'll go right after him.
- 23:48Speaker 1: And that's what they did. Uh.
- 23:49Speaker 2: The trade lose, lose so far on that on that,
- 23:52Speaker 2: on that trade, a couple of nuggets on the defensive
- 23:55Speaker 2: side of the ball I mentioned earlier. Leonard Williams still
- 23:57Speaker 2: continues just create a mess back there. Channing Nuosu rushed
- 24:01Speaker 2: with a lot of physicality. He had a sack and
- 24:03Speaker 2: a half. It's nice to have him back healthy this year.
- 24:05Speaker 2: It's again we talked about every week, Seattle's got a
- 24:07Speaker 2: really really good front and then seeing Nicky and Mawari
- 24:10Speaker 2: the rookie, you know, seeing how they were gonna use him.
- 24:12Speaker 2: He had nine tackles in a TfL lot of stuff
- 24:15Speaker 2: near the line of scrimmage. Reminds me of you know what,
- 24:19Speaker 2: We've had a lot of these guys. Who is the
- 24:20Speaker 2: linebacker now? I'm gonna the Florida State linebacker with the
- 24:24Speaker 2: long arms was with Jacksonville, right Buck. This is going
- 24:27Speaker 2: back many years ago. He retired young. He retired after
- 24:30Speaker 2: like four or five years, but he played at a
- 24:31Speaker 2: really really high level.
- 24:34Speaker 5: He was like two hundred and twenty pounds.
- 24:35Speaker 2: But he Smith Kelvin Smith, Yes, like I got some
- 24:39Speaker 2: Telvin Smith vibes from Iman Wari kind of like down
- 24:41Speaker 2: there in the line of scrimmage.
- 24:42Speaker 5: Looks like kind of a pterodactyl.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Just looks big and rangy and long, and he kind
- 24:46Speaker 2: of buzz underneath some things. He gets off blocks, he
- 24:49Speaker 2: plays physical, he's he's kind of finding a little spot
- 24:52Speaker 2: there in a role.
- 24:53Speaker 5: So good.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Good to see on the Seattle side of things. And
- 24:56Speaker 2: I'm I know they just played each other, and I know,
- 24:59Speaker 2: Detro it's not going anywhere, but man, I was watching
- 25:02Speaker 2: that game, and I just watched the Tampa game, and
- 25:05Speaker 2: I'm sitting there going is that going to be the
- 25:07Speaker 2: NFC Championship game rematch? Is it going to be Tampa Seattle?
- 25:10Speaker 2: I don't know if anybody's playing better than those two
- 25:12Speaker 2: teams right now.
- 25:13Speaker 4: I mean good, And I'm gonna say this because it's
- 25:16Speaker 4: one thing to talk about Seattle's front, it's another thing
- 25:19Speaker 4: to fill it when you're on the field level DJ
- 25:23Speaker 4: they dominated the point of attack to the point going
- 25:26Speaker 4: into the game, I think the Jacks had only surrendered
- 25:28Speaker 4: maybe three or four sacks.
- 25:31Speaker 5: That many sacks they gave up seven.
- 25:33Speaker 4: And it started with they were bringing pressure early and
- 25:36Speaker 4: then it was a four man rush that was just
- 25:39Speaker 4: like a Boa.
- 25:40Speaker 7: Constrict Iron Murphy player. Right now, I mean just squeezing
- 25:46Speaker 7: the pocket. And Byron Murphy didn't get enough love in
- 25:49Speaker 7: the draft process.
- 25:50Speaker 4: He's explosive in dynamic. Leonard Williams is certainly to point
- 25:53Speaker 4: on the sword. DeMarcus Lawrence is the veterans with savvy
- 25:56Speaker 4: or whatever you talk about. You also on the edge. Man,
- 26:00Speaker 4: they are good on defense, and they're kind of like
- 26:03Speaker 4: one of those best kept secrets in terms of we're
- 26:06Speaker 4: gonna look up and they're gonna be there at the
- 26:08Speaker 4: end and everyone's gonna be like, oh, this is a
- 26:10Speaker 4: really good front They're not lob the leasona boom, but man,
- 26:13Speaker 4: they are a dominant front line.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Well that surprise you, baldi if we saw that, if
- 26:17Speaker 2: that ended up being the NFC Championship game when it
- 26:19Speaker 2: was all said and done, when that surprise you all?
- 26:21Speaker 3: Right? Now, I mean, look at the quarterback.
- 26:22Speaker 1: You know, you look at the quarterback play, you look
- 26:23Speaker 1: at the defense, you look at the ability to affect
- 26:26Speaker 1: the other team's quarterback. Mike McDonald's going to sit there
- 26:29Speaker 1: in those matchup you know zones of his and you
- 26:32Speaker 1: know they're just going to match you with your route combinations.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Just sit on top of you make the quarterback hold
- 26:37Speaker 1: the ball and you know, I mean that's what leads
- 26:39Speaker 1: to a lot of sacks like he had in Baltimore.
- 26:41Speaker 1: And it's starting to come right now.
- 26:43Speaker 3: I feel like m. M. Moury is going to be
- 26:45Speaker 3: a lot like Kyle Hamilton.
- 26:46Speaker 1: And they're going to be that multiple chess piece with
- 26:49Speaker 1: him and his range and the things that he can do.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I mean, you could just see what they did in
- 26:53Speaker 1: Baltimore two years ago, being built defensively right now in Seattle.
- 26:58Speaker 5: No question win for them. Jacksonville a good fight too.
- 27:02Speaker 2: They're not going anywhere, so it's going to be interesting
- 27:04Speaker 2: to follow them as we go forward.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Take quick break, we come back.
- 27:07Speaker 2: We'll get into a few more games, all right. Don't
- 27:13Speaker 2: need to spend a long time here. But it was
- 27:15Speaker 2: a big win for the Chargers. They almost let one
- 27:16Speaker 2: get away down there in Miami. But when you win
- 27:18Speaker 2: a game and you're playing with your fifth and sixth
- 27:20Speaker 2: offensive tackle, Bobby Hart right off the street starting at
- 27:23Speaker 2: right tackle, found out just before the game that Jamari
- 27:27Speaker 2: Sawyer was not going to play, so you're down your
- 27:29Speaker 2: top four tackles, so you end up with Austin Deculus
- 27:32Speaker 2: at left, Bobby Hart at right. They did a lot
- 27:35Speaker 2: of what I was talking about earlier, where it's just
- 27:37Speaker 2: twelve and twenty two personnel. I had two backs out
- 27:39Speaker 2: there with Tucker Fist kind of was that big fullback.
- 27:42Speaker 2: They ran the ball really well with Kamani Videll. After
- 27:44Speaker 2: the injuries they've lost their top two backs. He goes
- 27:47Speaker 2: for a buck twenty four have has he ever had
- 27:49Speaker 2: a day like that? Had four yards in that game
- 27:52Speaker 2: that he's had so far in his early career as
- 27:54Speaker 2: a rookie last year. But you think about that. I'm
- 27:56Speaker 2: watching that game. First of all, I want to give
- 27:59Speaker 2: it real quick. T Ray Harris, the rookie receiver who
- 28:01Speaker 2: was a former quarterbacks at Mississippi, really good receiver. If
- 28:05Speaker 2: you watch it, if you just went and watched the
- 28:07Speaker 2: cut up of all their explosive runs with all their
- 28:09Speaker 2: backs this year, Trey Harris is freaking lead blocking on
- 28:11Speaker 2: almost all of them. Like he is out there as
- 28:13Speaker 2: a rookie. He is blocking his tailoff out there on
- 28:15Speaker 2: the perimeter. Uh So, something to keep an eye on
- 28:17Speaker 2: with him. But defense so bad, they misfit everything. They
- 28:24Speaker 2: all these guys up front that they've drafted linebackers, These
- 28:27Speaker 2: linebackers are bad and they misfit. And you could see
- 28:30Speaker 2: Camanie Videll when you watch the explosive baldy, you'll see
- 28:34Speaker 2: him kind of fit up into the line of scrimmage.
- 28:35Speaker 2: He'll wait, make the linebacker commit, just bounce and they've
- 28:38Speaker 2: got multiple guys and gaps and they're gaping holes uh
- 28:42Speaker 2: everywhere else.
- 28:43Speaker 5: So yeah, here you go again.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Put in the chat four explosive runs, tied for the
- 28:47Speaker 2: most by any charging the game over the last three
- 28:49Speaker 2: seasons for Vidal. So a good, good performance from him.
- 28:53Speaker 2: But I was thinking about Joe Ortiz the second year there,
- 28:55Speaker 2: that first draft. If you look at it, Joe in
- 28:57Speaker 2: the first round is played at an all pro level.
- 29:00Speaker 2: When he's been out there. You look at mccacky, he's
- 29:03Speaker 2: been as good as any receiver in that draft class.
- 29:06Speaker 2: You've got two starting corners and Tarheek still who's really good,
- 29:09Speaker 2: and cam Hert's been out there playing. Then you got
- 29:12Speaker 2: Vi Dow, I mean, then you got Vidal out here
- 29:15Speaker 2: doing this. That's a heck of a first draft there
- 29:17Speaker 2: in twenty twenty four. But Miami, the Boo Birds were out,
- 29:20Speaker 2: they still found a way. They get a big touchdown
- 29:22Speaker 2: too late to take the lead. But the other thing, Buck,
- 29:26Speaker 2: I'll get you to on this one was one of
- 29:28Speaker 2: the kind of cool stories from the weekend for me.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Nahim heinz out there. It's been over a thousand days
- 29:35Speaker 2: since he's played an NFL game and he has a
- 29:38Speaker 2: kickoff return after the go ahead touchdown takes him to
- 29:40Speaker 2: the forty like that. They started their drive with the
- 29:42Speaker 2: forty because of his kick return, they got and played
- 29:45Speaker 2: a game over a thousand days. So hats off to him,
- 29:48Speaker 2: and he even tweeted out everybody thought my career was over.
- 29:50Speaker 5: You know. It's a kind of a cool story.
- 29:52Speaker 3: It's cool. Yeah.
- 29:53Speaker 4: So it's really cool because he's from the hometown and
- 29:56Speaker 4: I had a chance to talk to him this summer
- 29:58Speaker 4: about that unfortunate accident. Je Ski's bounced back, has to
- 30:02Speaker 4: work his way back into it. But then for him
- 30:05Speaker 4: to come out of those as he told me those
- 30:07Speaker 4: dark days, to have an opportunity to fix it.
- 30:09Speaker 5: Man, what a great story.
- 30:10Speaker 4: And I knew he was going to have an opportunity,
- 30:12Speaker 4: and so pass off to him for getting it done.
- 30:15Speaker 4: I think the big story that came out of there
- 30:16Speaker 4: is Tua calling out all the teammates afterwards, and we
- 30:21Speaker 4: talk a lot about ball and a lot about the
- 30:23Speaker 4: things that happened on the field, but it's clear that
- 30:26Speaker 4: something in Miami off the field is not working. When
- 30:29Speaker 4: you talk about people being perpetually late, late to meetings,
- 30:33Speaker 4: late to practice, those were the reports that came out
- 30:38Speaker 4: last year, and a lot of times he was their
- 30:39Speaker 4: best players. And then when tuas talking about people being
- 30:42Speaker 4: late to player led meetings and functions in film sessions
- 30:46Speaker 4: and dinners.
- 30:47Speaker 5: And all this, Man, there's something that is wrong.
- 30:51Speaker 4: And I am a believer that when you're in a
- 30:53Speaker 4: place like Miami that has all the trappings of the city,
- 30:57Speaker 4: the program has to be edge year has to be
- 31:00Speaker 4: tougher and tighter and more discipline in detail than lax.
- 31:04Speaker 4: And it is clear and apparent that that's not the
- 31:06Speaker 4: program to have, which is why they have not been
- 31:08Speaker 4: able to consistently win.
- 31:09Speaker 5: Baldy, you're grinning right there.
- 31:11Speaker 3: You're you're I know, South Florida.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Like I see these guys, you know, I don't want
- 31:19Speaker 1: to name any names. Like there's just way too much distractions,
- 31:25Speaker 1: Like it's been going on forever.
- 31:26Speaker 3: I mean, it was going back when when Shulu was there, you.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Know, and any coach, you know, Jimmy Johnson, like, there's
- 31:31Speaker 1: just too it's just too good.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I don't think that was tough one.
- 31:38Speaker 5: That's a tough one. People have always said that about
- 31:41Speaker 5: two places.
- 31:42Speaker 2: By the way, They've always said it would be hard
- 31:43Speaker 2: to win consistently in Miami in Atlanta. Atlanta is the
- 31:46Speaker 2: other one because of the nightlife that you know, gets
- 31:49Speaker 2: mentioned a lot.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Which else there a little bit, but.
- 31:54Speaker 4: I think you have to you have to account and
- 31:56Speaker 4: put some things, bake some things into the cake to
- 31:59Speaker 4: do it. So if I'm at Miami Atlanta, those places
- 32:03Speaker 4: where I know light life is prevalent, the day starts earlier,
- 32:06Speaker 4: you're in the building at seven o'clock. You're having things
- 32:10Speaker 4: where you either can curb it or you can clearly
- 32:13Speaker 4: see who's been going out because you can't sustain it
- 32:17Speaker 4: going out, getting up early, practicing hard, and doing those things. Shoot, man,
- 32:22Speaker 4: when the Rams came to LA they had to flip
- 32:24Speaker 4: the schedule with Sean McVay because guys were enjoying the
- 32:28Speaker 4: night life in Hollywood. They're things that you have to
- 32:32Speaker 4: do to help the players help themselves, and clearly they're
- 32:36Speaker 4: not doing that.
- 32:36Speaker 5: In Miami right now me.
- 32:38Speaker 1: You know, like when a dignitary goes overseas and he's
- 32:41Speaker 1: in an in foreign country and they have the interpreter
- 32:44Speaker 1: right there interpret.
- 32:45Speaker 3: I feel like.
- 32:46Speaker 1: When Mike McDaniel like just starts rambling, you know, at
- 32:51Speaker 1: any press conference, you need somebody to kind of filter
- 32:54Speaker 1: the whole thing to what is he really saying here
- 32:57Speaker 1: because it's not always translatable.
- 33:00Speaker 3: I don't know where he's going some of these with somebody.
- 33:02Speaker 5: Yeah, I was sitting up there.
- 33:04Speaker 2: We were kind of waiting to go downstairs to get
- 33:06Speaker 2: on the bus, and so there's still a bunch of
- 33:08Speaker 2: you know, people that weren't at the press comps kind
- 33:10Speaker 2: of in the media area up in the press box
- 33:12Speaker 2: in the in the postgame was on up there, and
- 33:15Speaker 2: it reminded me of I remember somebody used this phrase
- 33:18Speaker 2: one time about somebody's train of thought that they left
- 33:22Speaker 2: the they left their driveway to turn their GPS off,
- 33:25Speaker 2: and it's just you don't know where you're going, like
- 33:27Speaker 2: where is this thing?
- 33:28Speaker 5: Where is this thing going?
- 33:29Speaker 2: We're going to find our way back home here when
- 33:31Speaker 2: this is all said and done, like it is, it
- 33:33Speaker 2: was rambling, uh, to say the least, let's whip through
- 33:37Speaker 2: a few more games, Baldy, We'll get you on your
- 33:39Speaker 2: way here Arizona Indie Man, the fighting Colts just keep
- 33:42Speaker 2: it rolling.
- 33:43Speaker 3: I tell you what, I watched that game.
- 33:45Speaker 1: If you're just a fan of good offense, watch the Colts.
- 33:48Speaker 1: I mean every phase of the game. And now like this,
- 33:52Speaker 1: Josh Downs, I mean the North Carolina kids slot receiver,
- 33:55Speaker 1: like he's got a real role in this offense.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Tyler Warren, the often goes through him.
- 34:00Speaker 5: He's been awesome.
- 34:01Speaker 1: I mean he has been We knew he was going
- 34:03Speaker 1: to be a good player. DJ but like the way
- 34:05Speaker 1: that they use him. He's the f back. He's a
- 34:07Speaker 1: wing tight end. He's split out, he's split in the slide.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Like the catches.
- 34:12Speaker 1: And I'll say this, if you don't have a tight
- 34:16Speaker 1: end delay in your.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Offense, you're not playing offense in this league.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Does every tight end that delays and then releases late,
- 34:22Speaker 1: do they get the ball and get a I mean,
- 34:24Speaker 1: it's unreal what they're doing with them. But he's Daniel
- 34:28Speaker 1: Jones is the story. They could easily be undefeated right now.
- 34:32Speaker 1: But that offense is humming and Jonathan Taylor is running
- 34:35Speaker 1: as well as he did when he ran the won
- 34:37Speaker 1: the rushing title. Right now, and I'll say this about
- 34:40Speaker 1: Quentin Nelson. Zeke used to say this about Zach Martin
- 34:44Speaker 1: in Dallas. No matter where the play starts, it ends
- 34:48Speaker 1: up used to end up behind Zach Martin. Wherever the
- 34:51Speaker 1: play starts, it ends up behind Quentin Nelson. Right now,
- 34:53Speaker 1: he's playing as well as he's ever played. And it's
- 34:56Speaker 1: it's it's really and that Bordolini. The whole group up
- 35:00Speaker 1: front is playing really, really good as a group.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm really impressed, man, just with the goals that look,
- 35:07Speaker 4: they are a team that is built the right way.
- 35:10Speaker 5: Not quite ready to call.
- 35:11Speaker 4: Them title contendents, but when you look at the way
- 35:12Speaker 4: they can put the pieces of the puzzle together Offensively,
- 35:15Speaker 4: they have a dominant running game with Jonathan Taylor.
- 35:18Speaker 5: Danny Dimes is playing terrific as a distributor.
- 35:21Speaker 4: They have weapons on the outside in the passing game,
- 35:24Speaker 4: but it starts with Tyler, Warren, Dennisty others that can
- 35:27Speaker 4: get it done. And then lou and Aroumo on defense
- 35:30Speaker 4: as a mad scientist concocting crazy schemes, deba photos play
- 35:34Speaker 4: callers and quarterbacks man As they continue to gain confidence.
- 35:38Speaker 4: There is a path for the Colts to be a
- 35:39Speaker 4: team that is a headache to have to deal with
- 35:42Speaker 4: in the postseason.
- 35:43Speaker 2: I think the conference is wide open right now and
- 35:45Speaker 2: they're in a great spot. I'm excited to study them
- 35:47Speaker 2: this week, Baldy, because they come out here to play
- 35:49Speaker 2: the Chargers, So that'll be a fun one to really
- 35:52Speaker 2: dig in and watch that offense. On the defensive side
- 35:54Speaker 2: of the ball, quit he pay had a couple of sacks.
- 35:56Speaker 2: He's a good player and they are fast and physical upfront.
- 36:00Speaker 2: We've talked about it all the time. Chris Ballard is
- 36:02Speaker 2: big on traits and they look like a long fast
- 36:06Speaker 2: as well.
- 36:07Speaker 1: And that he's three years he's never played. Yea, he
- 36:10Speaker 1: looks and you watch him warm up before the game.
- 36:12Speaker 1: I saw him a couple weeks ago get some rams.
- 36:15Speaker 3: He doesn't.
- 36:16Speaker 1: He looks ageless. You know, I don't know what year
- 36:18Speaker 1: he's now. He's probably like nine somewhere around there. But
- 36:21Speaker 1: like he like, there's no slowdown in his game right now.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Remember you used to talk about edge rushers and go man,
- 36:26Speaker 2: you really want to get somebody on the opposite side.
- 36:29Speaker 2: So it'll take some attention away from him. I feel like, now,
- 36:31Speaker 2: if I'm a premier edge rusher man and park me
- 36:33Speaker 2: next to a big time DT, I'd rather have a
- 36:35Speaker 2: big time DT than to have somebody on the other side.
- 36:38Speaker 2: As you see, everybody's able to you can play off
- 36:41Speaker 2: of him, you can play off of all the damage
- 36:43Speaker 2: that they do inside there.
- 36:44Speaker 5: Cincinnati Green Bay.
- 36:45Speaker 2: I feel confident that we nailed this one because we
- 36:48Speaker 2: said whether or not it was Jamis or Joe Flacco
- 36:51Speaker 2: ain't going to get the Bengals into the playoffs. But
- 36:53Speaker 2: they get Jamar Chase into the Pro Bowl. So that's
- 36:55Speaker 2: that's that's on target here ten for ninety four for
- 36:58Speaker 2: Jamar Chase and this one. I'll go to the Green
- 37:00Speaker 2: Bay side of things. I know, you know with rocky quarterbacks,
- 37:04Speaker 2: I always are with rooky players. To me, it's always
- 37:06Speaker 2: about two things. It's about the flashes, like can you
- 37:08Speaker 2: see the flashes of what you hope you're going to see?
- 37:11Speaker 2: And then are they just getting better as the season
- 37:12Speaker 2: goes along? And it was big news there in Green
- 37:15Speaker 2: Bay when they took a receiver in the first round
- 37:17Speaker 2: and now you're seeing it now. This is three weeks
- 37:20Speaker 2: in a role with Matthew Golden having a catch over
- 37:22Speaker 2: thirty yards. He had three for eighty six in this game.
- 37:24Speaker 2: He's given up some big plays and it doesn't necessarily
- 37:27Speaker 2: they had a go ball to him, but he's also
- 37:28Speaker 2: giving you some of that juice and burst and pop
- 37:30Speaker 2: after the catch.
- 37:31Speaker 5: So I like what I've seen from him.
- 37:33Speaker 2: I think you're going to see his role continue to
- 37:34Speaker 2: just climb as the season goes along.
- 37:36Speaker 5: Baldy, Well, they were.
- 37:38Speaker 1: You know, I remember last year, you know, coach was
- 37:42Speaker 1: saying that, you know, he didn't believe in having a
- 37:43Speaker 1: number one wide receiver and all this, and then they
- 37:46Speaker 1: get to the playoffs last year and they don't have
- 37:47Speaker 1: any receivers.
- 37:48Speaker 3: And nobody's going to play.
- 37:49Speaker 1: And now Matthew Golden is there, and you're like, okay,
- 37:52Speaker 1: now there's a pecking order. You know, this is where
- 37:54Speaker 1: it's going to start. You know, we can go through
- 37:56Speaker 1: all the guys that have been hurt and we know
- 37:58Speaker 1: who all they are, but they need a guy for
- 38:00Speaker 1: Jordan Love to go to right now and to get
- 38:03Speaker 1: to big plays, all of those play action fakes and
- 38:05Speaker 1: under center and the fakes right now to Josh Jacobs
- 38:09Speaker 1: and whatnot to get the ball down the field and
- 38:11Speaker 1: they're able to do that.
- 38:13Speaker 5: Buck anything.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I mean Cincinnati, I mean, I don't think they're gonna
- 38:17Speaker 2: be able to keep this thing afloat before Joe Burrow Good.
- 38:21Speaker 4: I think the main thing was more so on the
- 38:24Speaker 4: Packers thing, And I think it was funny that you
- 38:25Speaker 4: brought up the Matthew Golden thing, not only the catches,
- 38:28Speaker 4: but the fact that they had two carries and attempts.
- 38:30Speaker 4: And as they're beginning to narrow the focus, I think
- 38:32Speaker 4: people have to understand with the Packers, with the Micah
- 38:35Speaker 4: trade and all this, there's a lot of new pieces
- 38:37Speaker 4: and expectations that are coming together. Having the bye week
- 38:40Speaker 4: to kind of reset and recalibrate, we saw a much
- 38:42Speaker 4: better version of that. But I will say this, their
- 38:45Speaker 4: defense hasn't even scratched the potential on what they could become.
- 38:49Speaker 4: What we saw yesterday was Edrin Cooper and kway Walker
- 38:53Speaker 4: have impacts in terms of being sidelined the sideline chasers.
- 38:56Speaker 4: As Micah Parsons begins to command more intention from people,
- 39:00Speaker 4: you can see some of their lesser names, some of
- 39:03Speaker 4: their first round talents emerge and they play at the
- 39:06Speaker 4: blue chip level. So the Packers are going to be
- 39:09Speaker 4: the team that you talk about. Don't judge them about
- 39:12Speaker 4: how they played the first half of the season. Judge
- 39:14Speaker 4: them by how they played down the stretch when everything
- 39:16Speaker 4: kind of clicks together.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of dudes there on the defensive
- 39:19Speaker 2: side of the ball. Last one, Baldy Tennessee Vegas when
- 39:22Speaker 2: you're at that one.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, Well, I mean I think the only team
- 39:26Speaker 1: the Raiders could have beaten yesterday was you know, was Tennessee. Uh,
- 39:31Speaker 1: I mean, like honestly it, I mean, I know, Rock
- 39:35Speaker 1: Bowers isn't there, you know, for and that's a big loss,
- 39:37Speaker 1: huge loss from a playmaker standpoint. I have no idea
- 39:41Speaker 1: what Chip Kelly is doing and how they're how they're
- 39:43Speaker 1: getting this done. There's clearly a disconnect between I think
- 39:47Speaker 1: Chip and and Geno and and what Pete wanted to do.
- 39:50Speaker 1: They had that game won and sewed up, and Tennessee
- 39:54Speaker 1: was going anywhere, and you know, they're they're putting the
- 39:57Speaker 1: ball in the air when they don't need to put
- 39:58Speaker 1: the ball in the air, and it gets intercepted because
- 40:01Speaker 1: that's what Gino.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Does right now.
- 40:02Speaker 1: But he gets like completely blasted by Jeffrey Simmons, who.
- 40:06Speaker 5: He's playing really well by the way game.
- 40:09Speaker 1: But he's the one guy on that whole team that
- 40:13Speaker 1: just shows up. And he lost some weight this offseason.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Talked to him before the game like he's just he's
- 40:19Speaker 1: something else. I'll say this. The highlight of the game
- 40:21Speaker 1: was Eric Allen is going to the Hall of Fame,
- 40:24Speaker 1: you know, this year, and I played with him in Philly.
- 40:26Speaker 1: But they brought Mark Davis, brought back all the Raider
- 40:29Speaker 1: Hall of famers and so you know, there's you know,
- 40:32Speaker 1: I mean it was. It was Tim Brown's over here,
- 40:34Speaker 1: and here's James Lofton and any guy that had a
- 40:37Speaker 1: Raider of uniform. There's Eric Dickerson and we're talking about
- 40:39Speaker 1: our days in Indianapolis. I mean that to me was
- 40:42Speaker 1: the highlight of the day. Just all the gold jackets
- 40:45Speaker 1: down there on the field, and even like a James Lofty's.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Like Baldy, They'll treating me like I'm a twenty year
- 40:49Speaker 3: veteran of the Raiders here like this.
- 40:51Speaker 5: This is great.
- 40:51Speaker 3: I mean, it was. It was. It was fun, pretty
- 40:53Speaker 3: fun to see.
- 40:54Speaker 4: That's cool, yeah, right man, Yeah, yeah, my teammate. In fact,
- 40:59Speaker 4: that was the reason I went to the Raiders. I
- 41:00Speaker 4: was there because Eric Allen Toys is a cl and
- 41:04Speaker 4: so I came into Oakland to replace him and playing
- 41:07Speaker 4: with him and would send in those guys. But I
- 41:09Speaker 4: will say that, Baldy, your experience as you relate to
- 41:11Speaker 4: the Raiders, that is what it's always been when they
- 41:14Speaker 4: talk about once Raiders. A Raider like that is something
- 41:18Speaker 4: that the late Al Davis took seriously and his son
- 41:21Speaker 4: Mark has certainly picked it up in Oh boy, I
- 41:24Speaker 4: tell you this is this is.
- 41:25Speaker 5: Not a great thing. Titans fired Brian Callahan. Not great.
- 41:28Speaker 5: WHOA Well, we were just.
- 41:30Speaker 3: Talking about Tennessee and it's awful. It's just awful.
- 41:34Speaker 2: No, Baldy, you know you know what I was gonna
- 41:36Speaker 2: hit on that Cam Moore six sacks twenty five on
- 41:38Speaker 2: the year, and I went back and a lot of
- 41:41Speaker 2: times you'll see it with young quarterbacks. You see like
- 41:44Speaker 2: a high sack total. And we mentioned it like with
- 41:46Speaker 2: Justin Fields. Like Justin Fields. You watch a lot of
- 41:49Speaker 2: his sacks throughout his career. A lot of it is
- 41:51Speaker 2: him just patting the ball, holding the ball, you know,
- 41:54Speaker 2: and burpen the ball whatever whatever phrase you want to use.
- 41:57Speaker 5: I watched this one, Baldy.
- 41:58Speaker 2: I went through and watched the sacks cam Ward and
- 42:01Speaker 2: it was one two three, one two three four five
- 42:04Speaker 2: top of the rep. Hoh my gosh, freaking car crash
- 42:07Speaker 2: back there. I was getting PTSD just watching the sack.
- 42:10Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't know what the heck he's supposed
- 42:11Speaker 2: to do here. This ain't the rookie problem, but you know, I.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Mean, you got Jason Latham out there, right tackle was
- 42:16Speaker 1: missed the last month against Max, and like there's no help,
- 42:19Speaker 1: there's no chip, and he's beating them.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Off the snap.
- 42:23Speaker 1: And then I don't know what Tennessee was doing when
- 42:26Speaker 1: they signed Dan Moore. I don't know what tape they
- 42:28Speaker 1: watched in Pittsburgh to say he's gonna be my left
- 42:30Speaker 1: tackle to protect my rookie quarterback.
- 42:32Speaker 3: I talked to Cam before the game. He's a great
- 42:34Speaker 3: kid and like he could have a future.
- 42:38Speaker 1: But I mean, he's thrown to all rookies out there,
- 42:41Speaker 1: and the line isn't protecting him.
- 42:42Speaker 3: It was just it was just hard.
- 42:44Speaker 5: To watch to me.
- 42:45Speaker 2: It goes back to an interesting discussion, which is, fuck,
- 42:48Speaker 2: We've said this for years, right if you asked the
- 42:52Speaker 2: young quarterback, would you rather have a great offensive line
- 42:55Speaker 2: or great weapons? Young quarterbacks. I'd rather have a great
- 42:57Speaker 2: offensive line. You ask an older quarterback, they'd rather have
- 43:00Speaker 2: the weapons because they have the answers to the test
- 43:02Speaker 2: and they can have solutions to problems to get the
- 43:05Speaker 2: ball out to their weapons. But to me to have
- 43:07Speaker 2: when you put these young quarterbacks out there and then
- 43:09Speaker 2: you're not good on the offensive line, I mean, they
- 43:12Speaker 2: still have pups out on the outside. I'm not saying
- 43:13Speaker 2: they've got great receivers either, they don't really have a
- 43:15Speaker 2: whole lot anything. But man, you're not going to have
- 43:17Speaker 2: much of a chance to be successful with a young
- 43:19Speaker 2: quarterback and a bad offensive line.
- 43:20Speaker 5: Just that it's not going to work.
- 43:22Speaker 3: Now.
- 43:22Speaker 5: It's the first thing that you have to do.
- 43:24Speaker 4: I mean, look, man, you coach Jim Arbo talked about
- 43:27Speaker 4: like you can consider the offensive line to be weapons
- 43:30Speaker 4: because they're the only position that makes the entire team
- 43:33Speaker 4: better offense, defense or whatever. And when you're going to
- 43:37Speaker 4: invest in the number one overall pick in camboard, you
- 43:39Speaker 4: have to make sure the he's protected because you have
- 43:40Speaker 4: no chance if you don't protect them.
- 43:42Speaker 5: Man. Look, man, there's the horrible.
- 43:44Speaker 4: Offensive line and everything else around them was just never
- 43:47Speaker 4: going to be good enough.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Well, we've seen this.
- 43:48Speaker 1: I mean we're talking about this is the year of
- 43:51Speaker 1: the reclamation quarterback and whether it's Baker or Sam whatever.
- 43:54Speaker 1: And here you are, like he's six weeks into his
- 43:57Speaker 1: career and the coach that the play caller who they
- 44:01Speaker 1: were head coach who just relinks to play calling, you know,
- 44:04Speaker 1: it is gone. Now you've got the interim guy coming in.
- 44:07Speaker 1: So it's going to be more changing. Like he could
- 44:09Speaker 1: be one of these guys that is not going to
- 44:11Speaker 1: have success in Tennessee. But he might have it because
- 44:14Speaker 1: he does have He's got an unbelievable ability to just
- 44:17Speaker 1: torqu the ball. You can throw it from anywhere. He's
- 44:19Speaker 1: got ability, and he's he's bigger than I think what
- 44:22Speaker 1: anybody thinks he is.
- 44:23Speaker 3: He's got good size to him. But and it's it's
- 44:26Speaker 3: unfortunate for him.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Body, let me ask you a quick question and then
- 44:29Speaker 2: we'll wrap it up on this one. But I was
- 44:31Speaker 2: thinking about as we're starting to see some coaching openings
- 44:34Speaker 2: pop and the college there's going to be a ton
- 44:36Speaker 2: of them. I mean, they're saying this might be the
- 44:37Speaker 2: busiest college hiring cycle we've seen in a decade, the
- 44:41Speaker 2: major major jobs. But I was trying to think of, Okay,
- 44:44Speaker 2: if we get to the NFL level, some of these
- 44:46Speaker 2: college guys, with everything going on there, might want to
- 44:48Speaker 2: come up a level. And I'm looking at that research
- 44:51Speaker 2: packet from last week or whatever it was that said six, Well,
- 44:55Speaker 2: I guess one of them wouldn't have been with Lincoln Rally.
- 44:57Speaker 2: So I guess five starting quarterbacks in the NFL. Five
- 45:00Speaker 2: of the six Oklahoma guys Lincoln Riley had his hands on.
- 45:03Speaker 2: And USC's kind of got some players now and they're
- 45:06Speaker 2: playing better football. Big win against Michigan, and you're I
- 45:09Speaker 2: was like the Titans. I mean, golly, it wouldn't be
- 45:12Speaker 2: a bad idea to kick the tires on. Maybe Lincoln
- 45:14Speaker 2: Riley coming in there to work with somebody like cam
- 45:16Speaker 2: Ward Lincoln Riley.
- 45:18Speaker 1: I'd take David Elko, you know, tex What about Sark Sark?
- 45:22Speaker 1: I mean, what Sart did in one week is amazing.
- 45:26Speaker 1: That guy just is That guy's locked in. Man. People
- 45:29Speaker 1: follow that guy. He's something else. He's pretty special. But
- 45:32Speaker 1: I can see guys making the jump for sure.
- 45:35Speaker 2: I'm telling you everybody better buckle up. If you're a
- 45:38Speaker 2: college football fan or NFL fan, I think you're gonna
- 45:40Speaker 2: see massive college openings. I think you're gonna see some
- 45:43Speaker 2: NFL openings, and I think you're gonna see the train
- 45:45Speaker 2: going up and the train going down. In terms of
- 45:47Speaker 2: college guys going up to the NFL and some NFL
- 45:49Speaker 2: guys going down to college. It's gonna be wild. I mean, uh,
- 45:53Speaker 2: that's gonna be the story of the offseason. I think
- 45:54Speaker 2: it's going to be all this coaching carousel stuff. Baldy
- 45:57Speaker 2: always love Monday's buddy, You're the best. Appreciate you, thank yep.
- 46:04Speaker 2: I was talking to some folks the other day about
- 46:07Speaker 2: the potential college openings, and I mean, fuck it is.
- 46:10Speaker 2: And you start getting into what happens when you have
- 46:12Speaker 2: some of the primo And look, Penn State's already open.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Everybody assumes Florida is going to be open. We're talking
- 46:17Speaker 2: about Auburn potentially being open. You've already got Virginia Tech
- 46:20Speaker 2: stand for cal like, that's already a good number of schools.
- 46:23Speaker 5: But when you get someone like.
- 46:24Speaker 2: The Florida's and the Penn States, what happens is they
- 46:27Speaker 2: don't go looking for the hot coordinator. They're taking a
- 46:30Speaker 2: big time somebody else. So then it just keeps the
- 46:34Speaker 2: cycle just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning. So yeah,
- 46:39Speaker 2: we could see a crazy offseason the head.
- 46:41Speaker 5: I mean, I can't wait ex talking about it, because DJ,
- 46:43Speaker 5: this is.
- 46:43Speaker 4: The wildest time that I've ever seen in the football landscape.
- 46:48Speaker 4: When it comes to coaching, the volatility that exists now
- 46:53Speaker 4: is unlike anything that we've ever seen. So you talk
- 46:55Speaker 4: about the train going both ways up and down and
- 46:58Speaker 4: all this other stuff. They're always coaches to fill the seats,
- 47:02Speaker 4: but man, when it comes to quality coaches for taking
- 47:05Speaker 4: over some of these quality programs, and.
- 47:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a good time to get it's a good
- 47:09Speaker 5: time to get re upped. You know.
- 47:10Speaker 2: I don't know if you saw the I saw somebody
- 47:12Speaker 2: ask Matt Rule about it, and hey, agent one oh one.
- 47:17Speaker 2: I don't care if you're in your dream job. You
- 47:19Speaker 2: got kids in school. There's a zero point zero percent
- 47:22Speaker 2: chance you're leaving. You know how you answer that question.
- 47:24Speaker 2: I don't talk about other jobs. I like where I am.
- 47:27Speaker 2: I don't mention it. You know that you don't come
- 47:29Speaker 2: out and say I'm not taking that job, because you
- 47:31Speaker 2: know what that does. That keeps you from getting nice
- 47:33Speaker 2: little bump in your current in your current spot. So
- 47:35Speaker 2: even if you have no intention to leaving, you're very vague,
- 47:38Speaker 2: keep that thing very vague, or.
- 47:40Speaker 5: You love I love the Yeah, you know that's it.
- 47:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:46Speaker 2: I always want them to be successful. I'm happy where
- 47:48Speaker 2: I am, so coach, you gonna tell me that you
- 47:51Speaker 2: are not leave.
- 47:52Speaker 5: You know. I don't talk about other jobs. I don't everybody.
- 47:55Speaker 5: I'm trying. I'm just trying to get it the word
- 47:56Speaker 5: this week. Yep, we got a tough game this week.
- 47:59Speaker 5: That's where my focus is. Yeah.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Uh, we're gonna have some fun with Red on that tomorrow. Man,
- 48:03Speaker 2: he is gonna he is gonna be something tomorrow, insufferable.
- 48:07Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I think so. I think he is. But hey,
- 48:10Speaker 5: I gotta give it to him, man, I give it
- 48:12Speaker 5: up to him. Who's yours? Man?
- 48:14Speaker 2: Rolling, Well, we'll give him his flowers tomorrow. We'll give
- 48:17Speaker 2: Red as flowers tomorrow. All right, that's gonna do it.
- 48:20Speaker 5: What's that?
- 48:21Speaker 2: Don't bring the gloves. I'm gonna leave the gloves in
- 48:23Speaker 2: the drawer. I think I might begin some my EU gloves.
- 48:25Speaker 2: Y's for my address? Either that or he's gonna send
- 48:27Speaker 2: me some heat mail, none of the two. All Right,
- 48:29Speaker 2: we'll see you guys tomorrow.
- 48:30Speaker 5: Right here, I'll move the six
- 48:35Speaker 3: H
