Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to dive into
0:07
Speaker 1: an article from CNN talking about a woman named Rosa
0:13
Speaker 1: Gilles who says that she was abused by Epstein while
0:18
Speaker 1: he was supposed to be serving jail time. So I'll
0:20
Speaker 1: keep my whinging to a minimum here in the opening
0:23
Speaker 1: because this is a pretty long article. so why don't
0:27
Speaker 1: we just dive right in and see what she has
0:29
Speaker 1: to say. This article was published by CNN, and the headline, exclusive.
0:35
Speaker 1: Rosa Gillis was an 18-year-old model when Jeffrey Epstein first
0:39
Speaker 1: abused her while he was serving jail time. This article
0:44
Speaker 1: was authored by MJ Lee and Nikki Robertson. The first
0:49
Speaker 1: day that Rosa Gillis showed up for her new job
0:51
Speaker 1: at a high-rise office building in downtown Palm Beach in
0:54
Speaker 1: the summer of 2009 was a woman was massaging Jeffrey
0:58
Speaker 1: Epstein's feet. Gillis, 18 at the time, had recently come
1:02
Speaker 1: to the U.S. to pursue her career as a model
1:05
Speaker 1: after being approached backstage in her home country of Uzbekistan
1:09
Speaker 1: by a modeling agent with ties to Epstein. Gillis was
1:13
Speaker 1: immediately saddled with debt by the modeling agency, which charged
1:17
Speaker 1: her thousands of dollars for her visa and her rent. Distraught,
1:21
Speaker 1: Gillis thought she'd be better off going back to Asia,
1:24
Speaker 1: where she had a successful run as a teenage model.
1:27
Speaker 1: But Epstein offered her a weekend job as a receptionist
1:32
Speaker 1: in his office to supplement her income. And that's where
1:35
Speaker 1: it all starts. He'd get these girls in the office
1:37
Speaker 1: as assistants, and then from there, the abuse would begin.
1:40
Speaker 1: But there's something extra disgusting when it comes to this
1:45
Speaker 1: situation due to the fact that he was supposed to
1:47
Speaker 1: be in jail when this shit was happening. So again,
1:50
Speaker 1: I ask you, How come the NPA still stands? How
1:54
Speaker 1: come nobody's going crazy about it? And how come the
1:57
Speaker 1: DOJ doesn't do away with it? Now in a room
2:01
Speaker 1: with Epstein inside of the 14th floor office, the woman
2:04
Speaker 1: invited Gillis to sit next to her. As Epstein gave
2:08
Speaker 1: Gillis his foot, she noticed a black plastic band around
2:11
Speaker 1: his ankle with a small box with a blinking light
2:14
Speaker 1: attached to it. When she asked what it was, Gillis says,
2:18
Speaker 1: Epstein and the woman laughed. Epstein then told Gillis to
2:22
Speaker 1: take off her shirt. Imagine walking into an office, some
2:27
Speaker 1: ladies massaging or girls massaging some dude's feet. They ask
2:31
Speaker 1: you to come over to massage your foot. He gives
2:34
Speaker 1: you his dog and he has an ankle monitor on it.
2:38
Speaker 1: What are we in a trap house in East Las Vegas?
2:41
Speaker 1: What in the ever living fuck's going on here? And
2:43
Speaker 1: then to laugh about it like it's no big deal.
2:46
Speaker 1: I froze, Gillis said, and the woman comes over and
2:49
Speaker 1: starts unbuttoning my blouse. She takes it off. Then she
2:52
Speaker 1: takes off my bra. And then she walks out. And
2:55
Speaker 1: that's the kind of shit that would happen. They would
2:58
Speaker 1: normalize it. They'd make pretend that it was okay. That
3:01
Speaker 1: everybody was doing it. And if you wanted to be
3:03
Speaker 1: part of this lifestyle... Then you had to get down too.
3:06
Speaker 1: And the truth is... A lot of these women from
3:08
Speaker 1: other countries... They had no other choice. People can say
3:11
Speaker 1: whatever they want. Oh, why did they stay? Why didn't
3:13
Speaker 1: they go to the authorities? Well, they did. And nobody cared.
3:18
Speaker 1: There was no action taken... And even when the guy
3:20
Speaker 1: was arrested, he was still molesting people. So, I don't
3:24
Speaker 1: want to hear anything from people who say this was
3:26
Speaker 1: all investigated, that this was all settled, there's nothing left
3:29
Speaker 1: to uncover. In my opinion, those are the words of
3:32
Speaker 1: a coward or a conspirator. Epstein sexually assaulted Gillis for
3:40
Speaker 1: the first time that day, the beginning of years of
3:43
Speaker 1: rape and abuse. She wouldn't realize until sometime later that
3:46
Speaker 1: the device Epstein had been wearing was an ankle monitor.
3:49
Speaker 1: and that he was serving jail time for soliciting prostitution
3:52
Speaker 1: from a minor, which should have never been the charge.
3:56
Speaker 1: I mean, for real? Soliciting prostitution from a minor. 40
4:01
Speaker 1: girls reported him, and they only go with the one charge, huh?
4:05
Speaker 1: I wonder why. I'm sure it had nothing to do
4:07
Speaker 1: with protecting their asset, right? I'm sure that factor never
4:10
Speaker 1: even came into play. Look, if you want to get
4:12
Speaker 1: to the bottom of what Epstein is, then it all
4:15
Speaker 1: starts in Palm Beach, and it all starts with that MPA.
4:20
Speaker 1: Gillis is one of countless women abused by the late
4:23
Speaker 1: convicted child sex offender. Her story, which she is publicly
4:27
Speaker 1: sharing in full for the first time with CNN, offers
4:30
Speaker 1: a vivid window into the unusual parameters of Epstein's controversial
4:34
Speaker 1: 2008 plea deal in Florida that authorized him to spend
4:38
Speaker 1: much of his sentence outside of jail. Yo, look, we've
4:43
Speaker 1: been ringing this bell for a long time. And CNN,
4:47
Speaker 1: they've largely ignored it. They thought that it was going
4:51
Speaker 1: to be something bad for the people they like. So
4:55
Speaker 1: instead of giving you the truth, they obfuscated and they
4:58
Speaker 1: acted like they didn't know. But they did. I assure you.
5:03
Speaker 1: And the fact that they're coming out now, like this
5:05
Speaker 1: is some kind of new investigation, is wild as hell.
5:09
Speaker 1: I mean, we can go back to what? 2022, 2023?
5:13
Speaker 1: When I was posting those articles? When we were talking
5:16
Speaker 1: about that in episodes? And I was livid about it then.
5:21
Speaker 1: And I'm even more mad about it now. Because all
5:24
Speaker 1: of a sudden people are acting like they're just finding out.
5:26
Speaker 1: The truth is CNN didn't see the political benefit of
5:29
Speaker 1: it then. But now they see a political benefit and
5:32
Speaker 1: they're all over the story. That arrangement allowed Epstein to
5:40
Speaker 1: continue abusing young women even as he was serving his
5:43
Speaker 1: sentence following his conviction. That included young foreign models such
5:47
Speaker 1: as Gillis. And at the time, the abuse took place
5:50
Speaker 1: while a Palm Beach County Sheriff's officer was in the
5:53
Speaker 1: next room. Survivors, told CNN, who's that sheriff? Who's that deputy?
5:59
Speaker 1: Are we ever going to learn his name? Is he
6:01
Speaker 1: ever going to be held accountable? His job is to
6:03
Speaker 1: make sure that Epstein isn't hurting anybody, and he's in
6:05
Speaker 1: the next room, as Epstein's hurting people? This is what
6:10
Speaker 1: I'm talking about with accountability. Real people were in these roles.
6:14
Speaker 1: Real people were were in charge of making sure the
6:17
Speaker 1: cameras at the jail worked. Real people were in charge
6:21
Speaker 1: of making sure Jeffrey Epstein stopped molesting people while he
6:23
Speaker 1: was in custody. But none of it worked. I guess
6:27
Speaker 1: it's all just a big coincidence, right? Everything surrounding Epstein,
6:31
Speaker 1: all this stuff that bends in his favor, all a coincidence.
6:34
Speaker 1: And I guess it's just a big coincidence that none
6:36
Speaker 1: of it ever breaks in the favor of the survivors.
6:41
Speaker 1: He didn't stop what he was doing while he was convicted.
6:43
Speaker 1: He was doing the same thing, Gillis said. He had
6:45
Speaker 1: no remorse. The things he was doing to me hurt
6:48
Speaker 1: me so much and left the biggest scar. And I
6:51
Speaker 1: will never, I will never be able to move on
6:53
Speaker 1: from this, no matter how hard I try. And that's
6:57
Speaker 1: just terrible to hear. I mean, you have a woman
6:59
Speaker 1: here who was abused by this dude while he was
7:02
Speaker 1: supposed to be under the care of the state. And
7:04
Speaker 1: if the state would have done their job, if the
7:06
Speaker 1: government would have done their job, she would have never
7:08
Speaker 1: been abused. And that falls directly on the shoulders of
7:11
Speaker 1: the DOJ and the state of Florida. It's an embarrassment,
7:16
Speaker 1: it's an abomination, and people need to be held accountable.
7:24
Speaker 1: Two women who spoke to CNN under the condition that
7:26
Speaker 1: they not be named publicly said that they too were
7:29
Speaker 1: abused by Epstein at the Florida Science Foundation office. The
7:33
Speaker 1: non-profit was created in November of 2007, shortly before Epstein
7:37
Speaker 1: entered his guilty plea, and claimed to provide grants and
7:41
Speaker 1: financial support to science and research organizations. The women described
7:46
Speaker 1: the 14th floor office as accessible by elevator that often
7:50
Speaker 1: buzzed with visitors and activity during the work week. One
7:53
Speaker 1: woman who recalled that there were numerous white noise machines,
7:57
Speaker 1: white mushroom-like domes, placed throughout the office. And he should
8:01
Speaker 1: have never been in that office. This office was put
8:04
Speaker 1: together very quickly in a piecemeal manner and put right
8:09
Speaker 1: next to his lawyer's office. But sure, he has a
8:12
Speaker 1: whole science foundation he has to run. and I'm the
8:14
Speaker 1: fucking Pope. Epstein appeared to have developed something of a
8:18
Speaker 1: routine for the days that he spent at the Florida
8:21
Speaker 1: Science Foundation, these women said. His mornings there began with
8:26
Speaker 1: coffee and the muffin, and the financier, who complained that
8:29
Speaker 1: he didn't sleep well at the Palm Beach Stockade minimum
8:32
Speaker 1: security prison, would take regular naps on a futon in
8:36
Speaker 1: a conference room. One woman distinctly remembered moments when Epstein's
8:40
Speaker 1: ankle monitor would go off, forcing him to run outside
8:43
Speaker 1: to try to reset the device. Too bad he didn't trip, fall,
8:46
Speaker 1: and break his neck. Epstein's conduct during this period was
8:51
Speaker 1: characteristically brazen, both at his West Palm Beach home and
8:54
Speaker 1: at the office. Survivors say Epstein sometimes sexually assaulted them
8:58
Speaker 1: while an officer in uniform was nearby, ostensibly to keep
9:02
Speaker 1: an eye on the newly registered sex offender. Bro, are
9:06
Speaker 1: we going to have an investigation down in Florida ever?
9:09
Speaker 1: This is unconscionable. Imagine if that was your daughter. Imagine
9:14
Speaker 1: if that was your mom. All I can say is
9:16
Speaker 1: that you better hope that the police catch you before me.
9:20
Speaker 1: And I truly mean that. If it was my loved
9:23
Speaker 1: one that this happened to, we're talking some law-abiding citizen
9:27
Speaker 1: type shit. The women said they remembered thinking that the
9:36
Speaker 1: officers seemed afraid of Epstein. There was no question they
9:39
Speaker 1: said that Epstein was the boss. Oh, he most certainly was.
9:42
Speaker 1: He was the boss during the negotiations. He was the
9:44
Speaker 1: boss after the negotiations. And he remained the boss until
9:49
Speaker 1: whatever happened to him in that jail cell happened to him.
9:52
Speaker 1: And that's it. That's just how it worked for Epstein.
9:55
Speaker 1: When you have that kind of money, that kind of power,
9:59
Speaker 1: and you're accruing... piece of what these intelligence agencies and
10:03
Speaker 1: governments are doing as far as being a middleman you
10:06
Speaker 1: have worth and when you have worth you're able to
10:09
Speaker 1: get away with some shit just ask whitey bulger for
10:13
Speaker 1: gillis her own encounter with a man in uniform who
10:16
Speaker 1: she believed was a sheriff's officer, took place one morning
10:19
Speaker 1: at Epstein's West Palm Beach mansion, where she said she
10:22
Speaker 1: was asked to go on a weekly basis in the
10:24
Speaker 1: summer of 2009. Gillis walked downstairs one morning and saw
10:29
Speaker 1: the officer standing in the kitchen and felt a sudden
10:31
Speaker 1: sense of hope. I thought to myself, thank you, this
10:35
Speaker 1: is going to be the day that this all stops,
10:37
Speaker 1: she told CNN. I can't even imagine. You're being abused
10:40
Speaker 1: by this dude, a cop comes in, you think you're saved,
10:43
Speaker 1: and you find out they're buddies, That's like right out
10:46
Speaker 1: of a movie. She watched the officer banter and laugh
10:51
Speaker 1: with Epstein, and after wishing Epstein a good day, walk
10:54
Speaker 1: out without saying a word to her. After I saw
10:57
Speaker 1: that sheriff, I understood that no matter what you do,
11:01
Speaker 1: this man is never going to be arrested, Gillis said.
11:04
Speaker 1: This man will never be stopped. And regardless of whether
11:07
Speaker 1: you scream and shout from the top of the universe,
11:10
Speaker 1: nobody would care. And that's what it felt like for
11:13
Speaker 1: a lot of these girls. And I can tell you
11:15
Speaker 1: that for a fact. How do I know? I talk
11:17
Speaker 1: to them. When this was all first breaking, I cannot
11:23
Speaker 1: tell you how many conversations I've had with people that
11:25
Speaker 1: were abused by this man who had the same stories.
11:30
Speaker 1: Talking about how they were being abused while he was
11:32
Speaker 1: supposedly in custody. Talking about how there were officers around
11:36
Speaker 1: while it was happening. How Leslie Groff knew she heard
11:40
Speaker 1: what was going on in the room. And it goes
11:42
Speaker 1: on and on and on. And all these people got
11:45
Speaker 1: up there in front of Congress and, in my opinion,
11:47
Speaker 1: lied through their teeth. And what did Congress do about it?
11:51
Speaker 1: Absolutely nothing. And I want you guys to keep in
11:54
Speaker 1: mind that the Epstein transparency law has to do with
11:59
Speaker 1: the government's handling of this as well. Not just who
12:01
Speaker 1: was involved, but how the government handled it. So that
12:05
Speaker 1: means we need to have investigations. And to do that, obviously,
12:08
Speaker 1: we need a special counsel. Especially now. And anybody that's
12:12
Speaker 1: against that I gotta look at you as somebody who's
12:15
Speaker 1: enabling Jeffrey Epstein. Because anybody who's serious, and it doesn't
12:21
Speaker 1: matter what side of the political spectrum you're on, you
12:25
Speaker 1: should want a neutral observer, a neutral party to come in,
12:28
Speaker 1: take a look at everything, and hold people accountable, right?
12:32
Speaker 1: Why is there so much pushback to that? Why are
12:35
Speaker 1: so many people hesitant for that to occur? What are
12:39
Speaker 1: they hiding? Who are they protecting? And why? Why? These
12:43
Speaker 1: are all questions that we have. And these are all
12:45
Speaker 1: questions that, unfortunately, are not going to be answered until
12:49
Speaker 1: we force the issue. But Congress, to this day, refuses
12:54
Speaker 1: to do so. Now, they're getting a little bit better
12:56
Speaker 1: about it. And I think the subpoena to Leon Black
12:59
Speaker 1: is a great idea. But every single person that they're
13:02
Speaker 1: calling up there to have a conversation with should be
13:05
Speaker 1: under subpoena. And it shouldn't even be a discussion. And furthermore,
13:09
Speaker 1: with this information becoming public now, I think it's time
13:12
Speaker 1: that we really push the DOJ and the government and
13:15
Speaker 1: Congress to get rid of that NPA. All right, folks,
13:19
Speaker 1: we're going to wrap up the first episode right here.
13:21
Speaker 1: And in the next episode, we're going to pick up
13:23
Speaker 1: where we left off. All the information that goes with
13:26
Speaker 1: this episode can be found in the description box. What's up, everyone?
13:30
Speaker 1: And welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In
13:34
Speaker 1: this episode, we're going to pick up where we left
13:36
Speaker 1: off with the CNN article talking about Rosa and her abuse.
13:41
Speaker 1: at the hands of Jeffrey Epstein. Once again, this article
13:44
Speaker 1: was authored by MJ Lee and Nikki Robertson. The accounts
13:49
Speaker 1: from Gillis and other survivors who say they were abused
13:52
Speaker 1: by Epstein while he was serving his 13-month sentence raises
13:56
Speaker 1: serious questions about the controversial 2008 plea deal that Epstein
14:01
Speaker 1: struck with the former U.S. attorney Alex Acosta. Okay, here
14:06
Speaker 1: we go. Alex Acosta was a middleman. OK, nothing more
14:10
Speaker 1: than a manager at McDonald's. Oh, sure. He makes decisions
14:13
Speaker 1: for his department, but he ain't making decisions for the DOJ.
14:17
Speaker 1: In fact, Epstein's team went over Acosta's head directly to
14:21
Speaker 1: Mukasey and Philippe. And people still don't want to talk
14:26
Speaker 1: about that part of it. But eventually they'll catch up.
14:29
Speaker 1: Might take another five years, but eventually they're going to
14:31
Speaker 1: catch up and realize that it wasn't Acosta. The reason
14:34
Speaker 1: Acosta gets brought up so much is because they want
14:37
Speaker 1: to slam it home. Oh, Acosta, Trump's guy. Well, sure,
14:40
Speaker 1: Acosta's a scumbag. Acosta has no spine. But Acosta didn't
14:44
Speaker 1: make the deal. And we have to be honest about it.
14:50
Speaker 1: This man has no kind of courage whatsoever. And he's reprehensible.
14:54
Speaker 1: And he had no business being part of the U.S.
14:56
Speaker 1: government as far as a cabinet position. But is he
14:59
Speaker 1: the one who gave the final okay for the Jeffrey
15:03
Speaker 1: Epstein non-prosecution agreement? He most certainly is not. Epstein began
15:10
Speaker 1: working full-time as president of the Florida Science Foundation in
15:14
Speaker 1: October of 2008, according to a 2021 review of Epstein's
15:18
Speaker 1: work release program conducted by Florida officials. For the first
15:22
Speaker 1: six months, Epstein was allowed to be at the foundation's
15:25
Speaker 1: office from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
15:30
Speaker 1: In May 2009, those hours were extended, requiring Epstein to
15:34
Speaker 1: be physically in jail for only eight hours a day.
15:37
Speaker 1: By the following month, Epstein's work release program again expanded,
15:42
Speaker 1: letting him work seven days a week at the foundation.
15:45
Speaker 1: Must be nice. When my loved one was in prison
15:48
Speaker 1: for seven years for illegal sports gambling, which is legal now,
15:52
Speaker 1: by the way, I promise you they weren't getting any
15:56
Speaker 1: kind of benefits. They weren't getting any kind of special
16:00
Speaker 1: treatment and they certainly weren't being let out to go
16:04
Speaker 1: and roam around the city all day. But when you're
16:07
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein and you have that kind of power, those
16:10
Speaker 1: kinds of connections, and you're an asset of the United
16:13
Speaker 1: States government, well, the rules are different for you. Please
16:17
Speaker 1: tell me again how this guy was just a lone
16:19
Speaker 1: predator with no connections, with no power, and then I'll
16:23
Speaker 1: tell you that you're a liar. The last two weeks
16:27
Speaker 1: before Epstein was released under house arrest, the financier was
16:30
Speaker 1: also permitted to visit his West Palm Beach mansion for
16:33
Speaker 1: two hour window in the afternoon. Let me go home
16:35
Speaker 1: and get a sandwich. Like what? No. Sit in jail.
16:40
Speaker 1: Rot in jail. At least for the year. But no.
16:43
Speaker 1: He didn't even get that. So all the people out
16:45
Speaker 1: there that act like this is all finalized. Like everything's
16:49
Speaker 1: been decided. Like everything's been investigated. You're wrong. And I'll
16:53
Speaker 1: say that with confidence. And that's because that's where the
16:56
Speaker 1: evidence leads us. His work release program had many conditions.
17:02
Speaker 1: Including the stipulation that he could only meet with business associates.
17:06
Speaker 1: and a requirement to wear an ankle monitor until July
17:09
Speaker 1: of 2009. Epstein was not allowed to have contact with
17:12
Speaker 1: family members, friends, girlfriends, or minors. But he did. And
17:17
Speaker 1: that's why he was in violation of the NPA. I
17:21
Speaker 1: feel like a record on repeat at this point. Between
17:25
Speaker 1: this and Rico, I mean, it's obvious what should have happened.
17:30
Speaker 1: And it's obvious the fix is in. And for all
17:32
Speaker 1: the people that want to yell about cover-ups when it
17:34
Speaker 1: comes to Tyler Robinson, buddy, you want a cover-up? This
17:38
Speaker 1: is it. This is the art of the cover-up. And
17:40
Speaker 1: not only is this a cover-up, it's brazen and right
17:43
Speaker 1: in your face. And now that it's been exposed, they've
17:46
Speaker 1: just doubled down. Epstein's lawyers and the Palm Beach County
17:52
Speaker 1: Sheriff's Office also struck an agreement that Epstein would hire
17:56
Speaker 1: off-duty deputies, also known as permit deputies. to be present
18:00
Speaker 1: at his office to document any visitors. Epstein's attorney, on
18:03
Speaker 1: behalf of the Florida Science Foundation, paid the sheriff's office
18:07
Speaker 1: a total of $ 128, 136 for those deputies during Epstein's work release,
18:14
Speaker 1: according to Florida Department of Law Enforcement report. The report
18:18
Speaker 1: also said that 494 visitor logs were reviewed by PBSO
18:23
Speaker 1: and no violations of unauthorized contact were found and that
18:26
Speaker 1: the records were later destroyed. Per policy. Oh yeah, let's
18:30
Speaker 1: destroy the records. Are you guys paying attention yet? They
18:34
Speaker 1: destroyed the records because they know. They were given Epstein,
18:38
Speaker 1: favorable treatment. Somebody was getting their palm greased. Somebody had
18:41
Speaker 1: a good Christmas. Let's put it like that, okay? Somebody
18:45
Speaker 1: had a great Christmas that year. Which one of these
18:48
Speaker 1: guards ended up with a new car? Went on some trips. Oh,
18:52
Speaker 1: we don't want to talk about that part, right? Well,
18:55
Speaker 1: guess what? We're going to. Because the institutional corruption surrounding
18:59
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein is a gigantic part of the story. And
19:03
Speaker 1: until that's exposed, we can just expect the next Epstein
19:07
Speaker 1: to pop up at any moment. And then what? We're
19:09
Speaker 1: going to start the clock all over again? Oh, we
19:11
Speaker 1: didn't know. We had no idea. How could this happen? Well,
19:14
Speaker 1: it could happen and did happen because people you voted for,
19:18
Speaker 1: people you elected, they don't give a fuck. In 2019,
19:23
Speaker 1: less than a week after new charges against Epstein were unsealed,
19:26
Speaker 1: Acosta stepped down from his position as Labor Secretary in
19:30
Speaker 1: the first Trump administration. A 2020 Justice Department review of
19:35
Speaker 1: the 2008 deal that Acosta negotiated concluded that he had
19:39
Speaker 1: exercised poor judgment, including in his failure to notify the
19:43
Speaker 1: girls and young women who alleged they were sexually abused
19:46
Speaker 1: by Epstein about the decision to not prosecute him on
19:49
Speaker 1: federal charges. But the review did not find that Acosta
19:53
Speaker 1: or other prosecutors engaged in professional misconduct, and that's because
19:57
Speaker 1: the OIG report was a whitewash. It was meant to
20:01
Speaker 1: put this to bed, to tell you to move on,
20:03
Speaker 1: to tell you enough is enough. And when it came out,
20:06
Speaker 1: I told you, that's what it was. Don't buy it.
20:08
Speaker 1: Don't fall for it. And I'm happy to say that
20:11
Speaker 1: a lot of you didn't. A lot of you understand
20:15
Speaker 1: exactly what we're dealing with. And you know that you're
20:19
Speaker 1: being lied to. And I think that's the most galling part.
20:22
Speaker 1: Even when these people are exposed, they continue to double
20:25
Speaker 1: down and act like it never happened and act like
20:27
Speaker 1: this is all just a big conspiracy theory. In December
20:31
Speaker 1: of 2019, four months after Epstein's suicide in a New
20:35
Speaker 1: York City prison, the PBSO ended its work release program.
20:39
Speaker 1: The FDLE's 2021 report said that it found no criminal
20:43
Speaker 1: activity was determined on the part of any PBSO member
20:47
Speaker 1: with their respect to their participation in Epstein's PBSO work
20:51
Speaker 1: release or permit detail programs. Of course not. There's never
20:55
Speaker 1: been accountability for anybody, whether it's government official or Epstein co-conspirator.
21:02
Speaker 1: And I hate to say it, but it's all by design.
21:05
Speaker 1: The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office did not respond to
21:07
Speaker 1: CNN's request for a comment for this story. They need
21:11
Speaker 1: to respond. And the pressure needs to be turned up
21:15
Speaker 1: on Palm Beach County and the officials that were responsible
21:18
Speaker 1: for all of this. The conditions of Epstein's work release
21:22
Speaker 1: program made young foreign models like Gillis the perfect target
21:27
Speaker 1: after his conviction. Gillis said that she was approached by
21:30
Speaker 1: French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel in 2008 when she was
21:34
Speaker 1: backstage at a fashion show in Uzbekistan. Well, didn't I
21:38
Speaker 1: tell you that Jean-Luc Brunel and Jeffrey Epstein, at the
21:41
Speaker 1: very least, were trafficking women back and forth? And then
21:44
Speaker 1: you have people like Kash Patel and all the surrogates
21:47
Speaker 1: out there that say that Jeffrey Epstein wasn't trafficking women.
21:50
Speaker 1: He most certainly was. Now, maybe not to the extent
21:53
Speaker 1: that some people say. But to think that Epstein wasn't
21:58
Speaker 1: serving up women to certain people? You are fucking stupid, okay? Okay?
22:02
Speaker 1: I don't know how else to say it. Brunel introduced
22:05
Speaker 1: himself as the owner of the agency MC Squared Model
22:08
Speaker 1: Management in New York City and offered her a contract
22:11
Speaker 1: on the spot. Gillis would later learn that Epstein was
22:14
Speaker 1: a significant financial backer of the company. 1000% he was.
22:19
Speaker 1: And the whole entire point was to have a pipeline
22:22
Speaker 1: of girls that he could pick from. Girls fed directly
22:25
Speaker 1: to the townhouse. Girls to go live with them for
22:27
Speaker 1: a week at a time that he could abuse. And
22:29
Speaker 1: then when that week's up, bring in the next group
22:31
Speaker 1: of girls. But sure, there was no trafficking going on.
22:36
Speaker 1: The contract that she signed with MC Squared, as Gillis
22:39
Speaker 1: describes it, gave the agency control over every aspect of
22:43
Speaker 1: her life. She immediately owed them $ 4, 000 for her visa
22:47
Speaker 1: and $ 1, 500 in rent each month for the overcrowded model's
22:51
Speaker 1: apartment in Manhattan where multiple girls slept on bunk beds.
22:55
Speaker 1: Her debt ballooned to a sum her parents back home
22:59
Speaker 1: wouldn't have dreamed of making in one year. Several months
23:02
Speaker 1: after her move, Gillis said she started crying at the
23:05
Speaker 1: MC Squared Miami office in front of Brunel. Her family
23:10
Speaker 1: back home depended on her modeling income, and by this
23:13
Speaker 1: point she was around 10 Gs in debt and failing
23:16
Speaker 1: to land modeling jobs. She had already raised the idea
23:19
Speaker 1: of going back to Asia, where she had a successful
23:21
Speaker 1: modeling stint, but MC Squared had her above the suggestion.
23:26
Speaker 1: Jean-Luc Brunel sits there, looks at me, goes, I see
23:29
Speaker 1: that you're very sad. Give me one second. Gillis said,
23:32
Speaker 1: Picks up the phone, calls someone, and then hangs up
23:34
Speaker 1: the phone and goes, I took care of it. I
23:36
Speaker 1: just sent $ 600 to your parents. Oh, big baller, huh?
23:41
Speaker 1: A whole $ 600? Piece of shit scumbag. To her shock,
23:47
Speaker 1: within minutes, somebody had in fact dropped off $ 600 and
23:50
Speaker 1: used Bekistan to her family. I thought to myself, what
23:54
Speaker 1: just happened? Gillis said. I don't know who he called.
23:57
Speaker 1: Did he call a friend that is American that happens
23:59
Speaker 1: to be there? Or did he call somebody from the
24:02
Speaker 1: government and they dropped it off? Good question. Very good question.
24:07
Speaker 1: Who dropped the money off and why? Unfortunately, Brunel's bitch
24:11
Speaker 1: ass is dead, so we'll probably never know. The message
24:16
Speaker 1: was unmistakable. She was at the mercy of the agency,
24:20
Speaker 1: and that included Epstein. Brunel was found dead in his
24:23
Speaker 1: prison cell in 2022 after he was arrested on charges
24:26
Speaker 1: of rape and sexual assault. Gillis was instructed to go
24:30
Speaker 1: to West Palm Beach in the summer of 2009 for
24:33
Speaker 1: a photo shoot. The giant white mansion where the shoot
24:37
Speaker 1: took place belonged to Epstein, and after her first brief
24:40
Speaker 1: encounter with him, Gillis' permanent move to Miami was quickly
24:44
Speaker 1: set in motion. Epstein's offer for Gillis to model during
24:48
Speaker 1: the week but work on the weekends at the Florida
24:50
Speaker 1: Science Foundation made little sense to her. For modeling, I
24:54
Speaker 1: need to go to auditions, build my portfolio, and do
24:56
Speaker 1: all these different things. but you're offering me an office job,
25:00
Speaker 1: and I don't see how that's going to help my
25:01
Speaker 1: modeling career. She said, I'm all alone, I'm broke, and
25:05
Speaker 1: this person tells me that in order to do my job,
25:08
Speaker 1: I have to take another one. After Epstein first assaulted
25:11
Speaker 1: her at the Science Foundation, Gillis says she was molested
25:15
Speaker 1: and raped every weekend in Palm Beach. The nightmare continued
25:19
Speaker 1: once she was allowed to return back to New York
25:21
Speaker 1: City in 2010, after Epstein's house arrest in Florida ended.
25:26
Speaker 1: And on and on it went. when it comes to
25:28
Speaker 1: the abuse that Epstein was engaging in, it just never stopped.
25:33
Speaker 1: And in some cases, it was a cycle that lasted
25:35
Speaker 1: literally a decade or more. The Epstein files that the
25:39
Speaker 1: Justice Department released earlier this year are littered with emails
25:43
Speaker 1: from modeling scouts to the convicted sex offender, offering up
25:46
Speaker 1: models from around the world. Two women filed complaints in
25:50
Speaker 1: 2019 alleging that Epstein had sexually abused them during his
25:54
Speaker 1: work release program. One of the anonymous women identified as
25:58
Speaker 1: Katlyn Doe said that she was made to engage in
26:01
Speaker 1: sexual encounters with Epstein at the foundation office. While in
26:05
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein's office at the Florida Science Foundation, plaintiff was
26:09
Speaker 1: made to engage in sexual encounters with Jeffrey Epstein, both
26:13
Speaker 1: alone with Epstein during which she engaged in sexual intercourse
26:17
Speaker 1: and also on one occasion with another young female and Epstein.
26:22
Speaker 1: The complaint said, Gillis said that she's certain she's been
26:25
Speaker 1: in the presence of some of Epstein's other victims. She
26:29
Speaker 1: recalls walking through his Florida mansion and encountering girls who
26:32
Speaker 1: spoke little or no English. They were immigrants. There were
26:36
Speaker 1: people who had an accent. The people who spoke Russian,
26:39
Speaker 1: she said, same thing was happening to them. And it
26:43
Speaker 1: was widespread. And when I talk about the girls with
26:45
Speaker 1: no names, these are the women that I'm talking about.
26:49
Speaker 1: How many of them are there? It was only after
26:54
Speaker 1: Gillis' modeling career took off in New York some years
26:56
Speaker 1: later and she gained financial independence that she was finally
27:00
Speaker 1: able to leave Epstein's world. She relocated to the Midwest
27:05
Speaker 1: and after meeting her husband Pat, found a new calling
27:07
Speaker 1: as a fitness coach and trainer. Gillis had kept her
27:11
Speaker 1: dark past secret from almost everyone in her life, including
27:14
Speaker 1: her parents, until recently. Despite promises from the Justice Department
27:18
Speaker 1: to protect survivors, Gillis was stunned to see her name
27:22
Speaker 1: And years of correspondence between herself and Epstein had been
27:25
Speaker 1: published for the world to see when the Epstein files
27:28
Speaker 1: were released earlier this year. It was my story to tell.
27:32
Speaker 1: It wasn't something I wish anybody read, she said. Look,
27:36
Speaker 1: I feel that. A lot of people, I've told you this,
27:39
Speaker 1: they don't want to come forward. They've moved on, they've compartmentalized,
27:43
Speaker 1: whatever you want to call it, and they don't want
27:45
Speaker 1: to reopen the wound. And I think we have to
27:48
Speaker 1: respect that. You can't force somebody to come forward. You
27:51
Speaker 1: can't force somebody to have to navigate the minefield that
27:53
Speaker 1: comes with it. Gillis said she'd been watching Epstein survivors
27:59
Speaker 1: over the past year publicly advocate for the release of
28:02
Speaker 1: the Epstein files and for the Justice Department to investigate
28:07
Speaker 1: Epstein's co-conspirators. While she's been invited to join them in
28:11
Speaker 1: their public advocacy work, Gillis says she's not quite ready.
28:15
Speaker 1: When a group of survivors gathered on the steps of
28:17
Speaker 1: Capitol Hill last year, Gillis chose to fly to D.C.
28:20
Speaker 1: to join them. but could only watch from the sidelines.
28:24
Speaker 1: They were telling their stories, and that started destroying me
28:27
Speaker 1: on the inside. She said it was so wrong for
28:29
Speaker 1: the government not to protect them. But Gillis says as
28:32
Speaker 1: she continues to work through her own trauma, she's beginning
28:35
Speaker 1: to imagine a future when she's able to be with
28:38
Speaker 1: the other survivors. I can see myself at some point
28:41
Speaker 1: gathering together with them, she said. I'm extremely proud of
28:44
Speaker 1: what each one of them are doing, and I see
28:46
Speaker 1: the pain is very contagious. Courage is contagious, right? Well,
28:50
Speaker 1: I think it is. And I think that the more
28:53
Speaker 1: women that come forward, the more comfortable other people will
28:57
Speaker 1: be to tell their story. But I think that the
29:00
Speaker 1: major takeaway from Rosa sharing this story with us is
29:04
Speaker 1: the fact that she was being abused while Epstein was
29:06
Speaker 1: supposed to be in custody. And if that doesn't lead
29:10
Speaker 1: to the NPA getting trash binned, I don't think anything will.
29:13
Speaker 1: So let's see if Congress picks up on this and
29:16
Speaker 1: let's see if they start demanding some more answers and
29:19
Speaker 1: some more transparency. when it comes to the NPA. All
29:23
Speaker 1: the information that goes with this episode can be found
29:27
Speaker 1: in the description box. What's up everyone and welcome to
29:30
Speaker 1: another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. There's a piece of
29:34
Speaker 1: the Jeffrey Epstein story that almost never gets the oxygen
29:38
Speaker 1: that it deserves. When people talk about Epstein, the conversation
29:43
Speaker 1: usually circles the same familiar terrain. Palm Beach, Manhattan, Little St. James,
29:50
Speaker 1: the flights on the so-called Lolita Express, the political connections,
29:54
Speaker 1: the billionaires, the celebrities. But buried beneath that well-worn narrative
30:00
Speaker 1: is something that is far darker and far more international
30:04
Speaker 1: in scope. One of the least discussed components of Epstein's
30:08
Speaker 1: criminal enterprise was the pipeline that ran through South and
30:12
Speaker 1: Central America, a pipeline that investigators and survivors have repeatedly
30:17
Speaker 1: linked to the French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel. If you
30:22
Speaker 1: want to understand how Epstein's trafficking network truly operated, how
30:26
Speaker 1: it sustained itself for decades... You have to look at
30:29
Speaker 1: that pipeline, because it reveals the industrial scale of the operation.
30:35
Speaker 1: Jean-Luc Brunel was not some peripheral character orbiting the Epstein saga.
30:40
Speaker 1: He was the key facilitator in a transnational recruitment system
30:44
Speaker 1: that fed vulnerable young women and girls into Epstein's world.
30:48
Speaker 1: Brunel ran a modeling agency called MC2, which operated across
30:53
Speaker 1: multiple continents and maintained connections in places where economic desperation
30:58
Speaker 1: could be easily exploited. South America and Central America became
31:02
Speaker 1: prime hunting grounds. Countries like Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, and others
31:08
Speaker 1: were filled with young women who dreamed of modeling careers
31:11
Speaker 1: and opportunities abroad. Brunel and his associates understood that dream intimately,
31:18
Speaker 1: and they weaponized it. The recruitment pitch was simple and
31:21
Speaker 1: devastatingly effective. Young women were promised modeling contracts, international travel,
31:27
Speaker 1: an entry into the glamorous world of fashion. They were
31:30
Speaker 1: told that they would be flown to New York, Paris,
31:33
Speaker 1: or Miami to begin their careers. For many families in
31:37
Speaker 1: economically struggling regions, this sounded like an opportunity of a lifetime.
31:42
Speaker 1: What those girls were actually stepping into was a system
31:46
Speaker 1: of blurred lines and outright trafficking. Multiple survivors have described
31:52
Speaker 1: how Brunel's agency functioned as a front for recruitment. Girls
31:56
Speaker 1: would be flown to the United States under the guise
31:58
Speaker 1: of modeling opportunities. Some arrived legally on temporary visas arranged
32:04
Speaker 1: through modeling contacts. Others were moved through a network of
32:07
Speaker 1: handlers and intermediaries who facilitated the travel. Once they arrived,
32:13
Speaker 1: many found themselves pulled into Epstein's orbit. Whether that meant
32:16
Speaker 1: being sent to his Manhattan mansion, his Palm Beach estate,
32:20
Speaker 1: or one of the many locations where Epstein entertained wealthy associates.
32:26
Speaker 1: What made this pipeline particularly insidious was the veneer of
32:30
Speaker 1: legitimacy surrounding it. Modeling agencies are, by nature, international business.
32:36
Speaker 1: Young models frequently travel across borders for work, and they
32:40
Speaker 1: made the entire operation extraordinarily difficult to detect. A teenage
32:45
Speaker 1: girl flying from Sao Paulo to Buenos Aires to New
32:48
Speaker 1: York with a modeling contract in hand didn't necessarily raise
32:52
Speaker 1: immediate red flags on paper. everything could appear perfectly normal.
32:57
Speaker 1: But survivors and witnesses have painted a far more disturbing picture.
33:03
Speaker 1: Several women have alleged that Brunel was directly involved in
33:06
Speaker 1: procuring girls for Epstein and that the modeling pipeline served
33:11
Speaker 1: as a recruitment funnel for Epstein's trafficking network. Some describe
33:15
Speaker 1: parties where wealthy men were introduced to very young models.
33:19
Speaker 1: Others describe situations where the promised modeling work never materialized
33:23
Speaker 1: at all. leaving them dependent on the same network that
33:27
Speaker 1: had brought them there. Investigators have long suspected that the
33:31
Speaker 1: Epstein operation functioned like a hub-and-spoke system. Palm Beach served
33:36
Speaker 1: as a domestic recruitment base, but the international component expanded
33:40
Speaker 1: the scale of the network dramatically. The Brunel pipeline allowed
33:45
Speaker 1: Epstein to access a steady flow of new victims from
33:48
Speaker 1: outside the United States, many of whom had little understanding
33:52
Speaker 1: of of American law enforcement systems, few resources, and no
33:57
Speaker 1: support networks once they arrived. And that international dimension is critical,
34:02
Speaker 1: because it reveals something about the true architecture of Epstein's enterprise.
34:07
Speaker 1: This wasn't simply an operation of a lone predator with
34:10
Speaker 1: powerful friends. It was a global trafficking infrastructure involving recruiters, facilitators,
34:17
Speaker 1: travel arrangements, financial channels, and institutional blind spots across multiple
34:22
Speaker 1: countries Brunel's role demonstrates how that infrastructure operated in practice.
34:29
Speaker 1: Even more troubling is how long the system appears to
34:32
Speaker 1: have operated without meaningful interruption. Allegations about Brunel's recruitment practices
34:38
Speaker 1: circulated the modeling industry for years. Survivors raised concerns. Rumors
34:44
Speaker 1: traveled through fashion circles and among agencies. Yet the pipeline
34:48
Speaker 1: continued to function well into the 2000s, The exploitation of
34:53
Speaker 1: South and Central American victims also underscores a broader pattern
34:57
Speaker 1: in Epstein's operation. The deliberate targeting of vulnerability, economic hardship,
35:04
Speaker 1: language barriers, immigration status, and geographic distance all served to
35:09
Speaker 1: isolate victims and make them easier to control. Girls arriving
35:15
Speaker 1: from abroad were often far from home, far from family,
35:18
Speaker 1: and deeply dependent on the people who had brought them there.
35:23
Speaker 1: When investigators began to piece together the scale of Epstein's network,
35:27
Speaker 1: the Brunel connection repeatedly surfaced as one of the most
35:30
Speaker 1: disturbing threads. Brunel himself was later arrested in France and
35:35
Speaker 1: faced allegations tied directly to the recruitment of young women
35:39
Speaker 1: for Epstein. His death in custody closed the door on
35:43
Speaker 1: many unanswered questions, but it did not erase the trail
35:47
Speaker 1: of evidence pointing to to a vast recruitment apparatus. And
35:52
Speaker 1: that's why this aspect of the Epstein story deserves far
35:55
Speaker 1: more scrutiny than it typically receives. Because when you examine
35:59
Speaker 1: the Brunel pipeline, you start to see Epstein's operation not
36:02
Speaker 1: just as a scandal involving elites, but as something closer
36:06
Speaker 1: to a global trafficking enterprise, a system that reached deep
36:10
Speaker 1: into vulnerable communities thousands of miles away and pulled young
36:14
Speaker 1: women into a world they never truly agreed to enter.
36:18
Speaker 1: Understanding that pipeline is essential if we're ever going to
36:22
Speaker 1: understand the full scope of what Jeffrey Epstein built and
36:25
Speaker 1: how many people across how many countries were touched by
36:29
Speaker 1: the machinery that kept it running. This article was published
36:34
Speaker 1: by the BBC. Headline, Epstein used modeling agent to recruit girls,
36:40
Speaker 1: Brazilian women, tell the BBC. This article was authored by
36:45
Speaker 1: Luis Fernando Toledo. If I had disobeyed my mother and
36:51
Speaker 1: had gone to New York, what might have happened to me?
36:54
Speaker 1: Asked Lucia Fekete. In 2004, as a 16-year-old living in
37:00
Speaker 1: the Brazilian countryside, she was taking her first steps in
37:03
Speaker 1: the modeling world. She says that French modeling agent Jean-Luc
37:06
Speaker 1: Brunel visited her family home to persuade her mother to
37:11
Speaker 1: let her go to a modeling contest in Ecuador. He
37:14
Speaker 1: later killed himself in prison, accused of rape, sexual assault,
37:18
Speaker 1: and recruiting girls, for the late U.S. financier and sex
37:22
Speaker 1: offender Jeffrey Epstein. And whenever we talk about this portion
37:26
Speaker 1: of what Epstein was up to, I can't help but
37:28
Speaker 1: think about what Maritza Vasquez told us during that deposition.
37:33
Speaker 1: And it was straight up terrifying, right? About the girls
37:35
Speaker 1: and the women coming from places like Ecuador, Peru, Brazil,
37:40
Speaker 1: all these places in South America that nobody was even
37:43
Speaker 1: talking about. And remember, the whole entire purpose of that
37:46
Speaker 1: was to stay off the radar of American authorities. After
37:51
Speaker 1: he was arrested the first time around, I'm sure his
37:53
Speaker 1: handlers had that talk with him. And I think that's
37:56
Speaker 1: why we started to see him shift his focus more
37:58
Speaker 1: to places like South America and Europe. Because he knew
38:02
Speaker 1: he was burned in America and the bullshit was over
38:05
Speaker 1: for him when it comes to recruiting younger girls. Back then,
38:12
Speaker 1: they didn't know who Brunel was. They had been introduced
38:15
Speaker 1: by a famous Brazilian scout. A BBC News Brazil investigation
38:20
Speaker 1: revealed has found evidence that Brunel used modeling agencies linked
38:23
Speaker 1: to him at the time to actively seek out young
38:26
Speaker 1: women and girls from South America for Epstein and to
38:30
Speaker 1: arrange visas for some of them to travel to the U.S.
38:35
Speaker 1: And remember, this is just one story. How many girls
38:39
Speaker 1: were brought to the U.S. by Jean-Luc Brunel, by his recruiters,
38:43
Speaker 1: and abused by Jeffrey Epstein and others? And considering that
38:47
Speaker 1: we know there's over a thousand victims, my guess is
38:51
Speaker 1: there is even more than we know about. Now, hopefully,
38:55
Speaker 1: we're going to hear from more of these women from
38:57
Speaker 1: South America who were abused by Jeffrey Epstein and Jean-Luc Brunel,
39:02
Speaker 1: but I'm sure a lot of them don't want to
39:04
Speaker 1: bring it up ever again, don't even want to think
39:06
Speaker 1: about it. Another Brazilian woman who says she had a
39:12
Speaker 1: relationship with Epstein showed the BBC her visa. It named
39:16
Speaker 1: one of Brunel's agencies as her sponsor, even though she says,
39:20
Speaker 1: She never did any modeling work for him, and the
39:23
Speaker 1: travel documents were arranged solely so that she could visit Epstein.
39:27
Speaker 1: Immigration fraud. How long have I been telling you about this?
39:31
Speaker 1: So don't tell me there were no crimes committed. I mean,
39:33
Speaker 1: I thought that immigration law was one of the du
39:36
Speaker 1: jour topics for the people that are defending Jeffrey Epstein
39:40
Speaker 1: and the administration. I thought they were trying to get
39:42
Speaker 1: rid of immigrants. Thought they were trying to get rid
39:45
Speaker 1: of people who were here under false pretenses. But I
39:48
Speaker 1: guess this is no big deal, right? No crimes were
39:51
Speaker 1: committed here. No investigation should be initiated. I mean, imagine
39:56
Speaker 1: saying that or thinking that. Because keep in mind, Epstein
39:59
Speaker 1: and Brunel, they needed help to get these visas, right?
40:02
Speaker 1: They needed people in the immigration office. So that's a
40:06
Speaker 1: whole ass other conversation that needs to be had. Who
40:09
Speaker 1: was helping them out? Who was on the take? Who
40:11
Speaker 1: took money? And once again, not a conversation that the
40:16
Speaker 1: government wants to have. Glossia's mother was suspicious of Brunel,
40:20
Speaker 1: but he seemed very charming, and eventually she agreed her
40:24
Speaker 1: daughter could go to Ecuador without her. The teenager traveled
40:28
Speaker 1: with Brunel's team to Guayaquil for the model's new generation competition.
40:33
Speaker 1: At the time, local newspapers reported that the participants were
40:37
Speaker 1: between 15 and 19 years old. Glossia says the competition
40:44
Speaker 1: passed without any major problems, although she grew suspicious when
40:47
Speaker 1: she was not allowed to contact her family. Yeah, that's
40:51
Speaker 1: a red flag. Anytime somebody's telling you you can't contact
40:54
Speaker 1: your people, it's time to get out of Dodge. Another
40:58
Speaker 1: contestant from Western Europe, who was 16 at the time,
41:02
Speaker 1: remembers how Brunel's behavior struck her as odd. She asked
41:06
Speaker 1: not to be named, so we're referring to her as Laura.
41:09
Speaker 1: It was weird how he behaved and was always hanging
41:12
Speaker 1: out with the young Brazilian girls. He was behaving like
41:15
Speaker 1: a clown and only hanging out with the quite young girls,
41:19
Speaker 1: she says. Well, that was for a reason. He was
41:22
Speaker 1: trying to find new girls for him and Jeffrey to
41:25
Speaker 1: absolutely ruin. And that's just the truth. Laura believes that
41:30
Speaker 1: while the competition was legit and well organized, he knew
41:33
Speaker 1: exactly which girls were vulnerable. He seemed to control their finances,
41:38
Speaker 1: she says. The girls from Brazil and Eastern Europe countries
41:42
Speaker 1: seemed to be prime targets. That was the MO. And
41:46
Speaker 1: it didn't matter where they were. America, Europe, South America.
41:50
Speaker 1: It was all about vulnerable girls. Remember, it was all
41:53
Speaker 1: about the coercion, right? And it was easier for them
41:57
Speaker 1: to rope in vulnerable girls who wanted to change their
42:00
Speaker 1: circumstances in life. So you promised them all these big,
42:05
Speaker 1: you know, opportunities, these jobs, trips, whatever. People want to
42:10
Speaker 1: believe that, right? And make no mistake, somebody like Jean-Luc
42:13
Speaker 1: Bruneau Dude was a master manipulator. He knew exactly what
42:18
Speaker 1: he was doing. In fact, he had this whole entire
42:20
Speaker 1: thing perfected. And him and Epstein were able to exploit
42:25
Speaker 1: this pipeline for decades. Glossier says towards the end of
42:33
Speaker 1: the trip, Brunel offered the flyer to New York to
42:36
Speaker 1: take part in shows with all expenses paid. At that point,
42:41
Speaker 1: they had contacted her mother, Barbara, for permission. Barbara's response? No,
42:46
Speaker 1: not a chance. They were only looking for children, minors,
42:49
Speaker 1: Barbara says. Unfortunately, they found my daughter. She forbade Glossier
42:55
Speaker 1: from any more involvement in modeling and cut ties with
42:59
Speaker 1: Brunel's network. It really was a narrow escape, says Glossier.
43:04
Speaker 1: In files released by the U.S. government, BBC News Brazil
43:07
Speaker 1: found records showing that Epstein was in Guiaquil on the
43:12
Speaker 1: 24th and 25th of August, 2004, at the same time
43:17
Speaker 1: as the final of the modeling competition. We also saw
43:20
Speaker 1: documents indicating that at least one model under 16 who
43:24
Speaker 1: attended the event flew on Epstein's plane at least twice
43:28
Speaker 1: in the same year. And we all know the deal, right?
43:32
Speaker 1: Let's not be naive here. We all know why this
43:34
Speaker 1: little girl was flown to Jeffrey Epstein's house. But sure,
43:38
Speaker 1: no underage girls, right? Imagine being one of these scumbags
43:41
Speaker 1: running around talking like that, and it seems like all
43:44
Speaker 1: the people that are talking like that are also super pro-war.
43:48
Speaker 1: I wonder why. Glacius says that looking back, without knowing it,
43:52
Speaker 1: I was in the middle of that storm, and my
43:55
Speaker 1: mother saved me. Another Brazilian woman, whom we are calling
44:00
Speaker 1: Ana to protect her identity, says that Brunel and his
44:03
Speaker 1: modeling business were instrumental in facilitating her relationship with Epstein.
44:08
Speaker 1: Ana was initially recruited by by a Brazilian woman in
44:11
Speaker 1: the early 2000s in Sao Paulo. Ana's account corroborated by
44:16
Speaker 1: documents reviewed by the BBC and cross-checked against U.S. Department
44:21
Speaker 1: of Justice records shows how Brunel helped to arrange U.S.
44:24
Speaker 1: visas for Brazilians. Ana says that she left her hometown
44:29
Speaker 1: in southern Brazil after being promised modeling opportunities in Sao
44:33
Speaker 1: Paulo by a woman who was based there. She says
44:36
Speaker 1: that on arrival, the woman took her documents and told
44:40
Speaker 1: her she now owed money for travel and photos. Anna
44:44
Speaker 1: says she soon realized there was no modeling work. She
44:47
Speaker 1: was a madam. Before I knew it, she was pimping
44:50
Speaker 1: me out. One of the clients was Jeffrey Epstein, says Anna.
44:55
Speaker 1: She described how a few weeks after her 18th birthday,
45:00
Speaker 1: the woman took her to the home of a prominent
45:02
Speaker 1: businessman in Sao Paulo. There she says she heard him
45:05
Speaker 1: describe Epstein as the king of the world and say,
45:09
Speaker 1: He likes younger girls. A few days later, she says
45:13
Speaker 1: that she and two other women were sent to a
45:16
Speaker 1: luxury hotel in Sao Paulo where Epstein would choose one
45:19
Speaker 1: of them. He chose me, she says. And this is
45:23
Speaker 1: what I was telling you folks earlier. There's going to
45:25
Speaker 1: be women that come out from these other countries that
45:28
Speaker 1: we have never heard from before. And once one crack
45:31
Speaker 1: shows up in the dam, that's usually the beginning of
45:34
Speaker 1: the end. And we saw that when this story first broke.
45:38
Speaker 1: One person came out, then another, then another, then another.
45:42
Speaker 1: And my guess is, internationally, we're going to see that
45:45
Speaker 1: process start to take place as well. Especially in places
45:49
Speaker 1: like Brazil, Ecuador, and Peru. Keep your eyes on those places,
45:55
Speaker 1: because in my opinion, there's a whole ass other story
45:58
Speaker 1: that still hasn't been uncovered. Anna says that she went
46:05
Speaker 1: to a room with Epstein where he asked her to
46:07
Speaker 1: remove her clothes. His thing was watching me while he
46:10
Speaker 1: touched himself. It was disgusting, but of all evils, the
46:13
Speaker 1: lesser one, she says. U.S. Justice Department files, including emails
46:18
Speaker 1: and flight records, place Epstein in Brazil at that time.
46:23
Speaker 1: She says he invited her to a party in the
46:25
Speaker 1: city a few days later, which is where she first
46:28
Speaker 1: met Brunel and the modeling agent soon became instrumental in
46:32
Speaker 1: arranging a U.S. visa for her. She adds that during
46:35
Speaker 1: the party, Epstein told her, that she was going to
46:38
Speaker 1: Paris the next day, and that he had already arranged
46:41
Speaker 1: for her to go with him. Describing the trip to France,
46:45
Speaker 1: she says that Epstein would give me $ 300, I would
46:49
Speaker 1: go out for a walk, and give him the change,
46:51
Speaker 1: but he would tell me to keep the money. He
46:53
Speaker 1: would test me and leave money in my room, and
46:56
Speaker 1: then I would give it back to him, and he
46:58
Speaker 1: would say I could keep it. All about control, right?
47:02
Speaker 1: All about manipulation, and all about letting her know who
47:07
Speaker 1: was calling the shots. That's what that's all about. Anna
47:10
Speaker 1: showed the BBC her passport containing a U.S. business visa
47:14
Speaker 1: with an annotation naming the agency that Brunel set up
47:18
Speaker 1: in the U.S., Karen Models of America. Anna says she
47:22
Speaker 1: never worked for Karen Models, but was told the paperwork
47:25
Speaker 1: would support her travel to the U.S. And the only
47:29
Speaker 1: reason for her visa was to visit Epstein. And we
47:32
Speaker 1: know what that was for. She wasn't there to hang
47:34
Speaker 1: out I'm sure she wasn't there to talk about carnival,
47:38
Speaker 1: or Brazilian jiu-jitsu, or what's going on down in Rio.
47:43
Speaker 1: We know why Epstein had her there. Her statement matches
47:46
Speaker 1: other documents. Court records and U.S. Department of Justice files
47:51
Speaker 1: indicate that Brunel used his agency, first called Karen Models
47:54
Speaker 1: of America, and later MC Squared in America, to attract
47:59
Speaker 1: girls from several countries, including minors. The same records include
48:03
Speaker 1: testimony from a former MC2 employee in the U.S. saying
48:08
Speaker 1: Epstein paid for visas, which Brunel's agency in the U.S. arranged.
48:12
Speaker 1: Epstein had provided financial backing when Brunel set up MC2
48:17
Speaker 1: in the U.S. There has never been any suggestion that
48:21
Speaker 1: any agency other than those managed and controlled by Brunel
48:25
Speaker 1: in the U.S. were involved in any wrongdoing. Well, I
48:28
Speaker 1: have my doubts about that. I certainly have my doubts
48:31
Speaker 1: about all of that. I mean, do we really think
48:33
Speaker 1: that Brunel was the only dirtbag doing this? And that
48:36
Speaker 1: these agencies were the only ones to ever get down?
48:39
Speaker 1: Somebody better tell Gerald Murray. Before he died, Brunel denied
48:47
Speaker 1: he had done anything wrong. His lawyers said that he
48:50
Speaker 1: had been crushed by the allegations and blamed a media
48:53
Speaker 1: judicial system. Oh yeah, everybody else's fault. Meanwhile, there is
48:58
Speaker 1: evidence a mountain high that Brunel was not only trafficking
49:03
Speaker 1: girls to Jeffrey Epstein, but was also having girls trafficked
49:06
Speaker 1: to himself. Anna says that over the course of about
49:10
Speaker 1: four months, she traveled to the U.S. and France with Epstein,
49:14
Speaker 1: who was affectionate towards her. She describes how during that time,
49:18
Speaker 1: he paid for... some English lessons. Anna says that her
49:23
Speaker 1: visa was canceled in Miami after U.S. authorities questioned who
49:27
Speaker 1: was paying for her work and whether she was receiving
49:30
Speaker 1: money in the United States. She says that she traveled
49:34
Speaker 1: to the country at least six times to spend time
49:37
Speaker 1: with Epstein before the visa was canceled. She says that
49:41
Speaker 1: she went to his private island in the U.S. Virgin
49:43
Speaker 1: Islands and thought he considered her his girlfriend until she
49:47
Speaker 1: found him in bed with somebody else. Until then, it
49:50
Speaker 1: hadn't sunk in that he did this with many girls,
49:54
Speaker 1: she says. On several occasions, he would tell me to
49:57
Speaker 1: leave the house and do something, go to a museum,
50:00
Speaker 1: go to classes. I don't know if anything happened that
50:03
Speaker 1: he didn't want me to see. He liked younger girls
50:06
Speaker 1: and being surrounded by them. She adds that she had
50:09
Speaker 1: sex with him once, and he likes sleeping, spooning, cuddling,
50:13
Speaker 1: and having his feet massaged. That all tracks. Sounds exactly
50:17
Speaker 1: like the scumbag we know. She says that Epstein once
50:21
Speaker 1: told her that Brunel had asked to sleep with her,
50:23
Speaker 1: but he refused, saying, I didn't let him because you're mine.
50:26
Speaker 1: Anna says that she didn't know whether to feel grateful
50:30
Speaker 1: or more terrified, and after that, she felt Brunel was
50:33
Speaker 1: like a wolf looking at a lamb. always with devouring eyes,
50:38
Speaker 1: both for other girls and me. Anna says that for
50:41
Speaker 1: the first meeting at the hotel and the trip to Paris,
50:45
Speaker 1: there was an agreement that Epstein would pay the Brazilian
50:48
Speaker 1: madam $ 10, 000. She says that Epstein only paid part of
50:52
Speaker 1: that amount and that she overheard phone calls in which
50:55
Speaker 1: the woman pressured him to pay the remainder. This account
50:59
Speaker 1: is consistent with testimony given in 2010 in court in
51:04
Speaker 1: Florida by a former accountant, at MC2 in the U.S.,
51:07
Speaker 1: Brunel's model agency, and cited in the Epstein files. The
51:11
Speaker 1: accountant said there was a Brazilian woman who arranged girls
51:14
Speaker 1: for Epstein and Brunel in Brazil and was angry over
51:18
Speaker 1: a debt. According to Anna, contact with the Brazilian woman
51:21
Speaker 1: who recruited her faded after she released the documents, but
51:25
Speaker 1: Anna continued to see Epstein. Anna says that after the
51:29
Speaker 1: visa was canceled, Epstein offered to get her a green
51:32
Speaker 1: card to live in the U.S., but she declined. so
51:35
Speaker 1: she could stay close to her family in Brazil. And
51:39
Speaker 1: this was the whole scam, right? They'd get these girls
51:42
Speaker 1: locked in, they'd get them visas, they'd get immigration paperwork,
51:46
Speaker 1: and then they'd own them, bring them to America, put
51:49
Speaker 1: them in that dumbass building on East 66th, and the
51:52
Speaker 1: abuse would begin. Brazil's federal public prosecutor's office opened an
51:57
Speaker 1: investigation in February into whether there was recruitment network in
52:01
Speaker 1: Brazil linked to Epstein. Federal Prosecutor Cynthia Gabrielle Borges from
52:07
Speaker 1: the National Anti-Trafficking Unit told the BBC that she wanted
52:12
Speaker 1: to speak to women who had contact with Epstein to
52:15
Speaker 1: work out how the system operated. The women themselves are
52:19
Speaker 1: not the target of the inquiry. What happened to Anna
52:22
Speaker 1: and others could be considered human trafficking for sexual exploitation
52:27
Speaker 1: according to labor inspector and researcher Mauricio Krepsky. He says
52:32
Speaker 1: that this type of crime may not be subject to
52:35
Speaker 1: statute of limitation, so Brazilians involved could still be held accountable. Well,
52:39
Speaker 1: that would be nice, huh? Some accountability here. Glossia is
52:44
Speaker 1: grateful that she and her mother, who said no, and
52:48
Speaker 1: after years of trying to make sense of what happened
52:50
Speaker 1: to her, Anna feels fortunate to have left Epstein's circle
52:53
Speaker 1: and rebuilt her life. I think I was lucky, but
52:57
Speaker 1: I feel for the other women, she says, and unfortunately,
53:01
Speaker 1: I expect to hear more stories like this from more
53:03
Speaker 1: women In South America. And at some point we have
53:06
Speaker 1: to get around to talking. About the immigration fraud. That
53:10
Speaker 1: led to all that abuse. And who signed off on it.
53:14
Speaker 1: Because I think it's pretty clear. That Jeffrey Epstein. Wasn't
53:19
Speaker 1: working alone. And when you step back and look at
53:24
Speaker 1: the entire Epstein saga. Through that lens. The Brunel pipeline
53:28
Speaker 1: forces a very uncomfortable realization. This wasn't just a story
53:32
Speaker 1: about one predator. operating in elite social circles. It wasn't
53:37
Speaker 1: just a scandal involving wealthy men and powerful connections. What
53:42
Speaker 1: the Brunel operation reveals is something far more systematic. It
53:47
Speaker 1: shows that Epstein's enterprise had global supply lines, real, functioning
53:52
Speaker 1: recruitment channels that reached deep into vulnerable regions and delivered
53:56
Speaker 1: a steady flow of young women into his orbit. That
54:00
Speaker 1: pipeline running through South and Central America was wasn't an accident.
54:04
Speaker 1: It wasn't some side operation that happened on the margins
54:08
Speaker 1: of Epstein's world. It was a strategic component of how
54:11
Speaker 1: the machine sustained itself. Domestic recruitment in places like Palm
54:16
Speaker 1: Beach provided a local base of victims, but the international
54:21
Speaker 1: recruitment system dramatically expanded the scale of what Epstein was
54:25
Speaker 1: able to do. Jean-Luc Brunel's modeling infrastructure provided the perfect cover.
54:31
Speaker 1: Fashion agencies move young women across borders every day. That
54:35
Speaker 1: normality became the camouflage for something far darker. And that's
54:40
Speaker 1: one of the most chilling aspects of the entire story.
54:43
Speaker 1: The pipeline didn't rely on force in the traditional sense.
54:47
Speaker 1: It relied on dreams. It relied on aspiration. Young women
54:51
Speaker 1: from Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and other parts of
54:56
Speaker 1: the region were told they had a chance at the
54:58
Speaker 1: modeling world. They were promised opportunity, glamour, a way out
55:03
Speaker 1: of economic hardship. In reality, many of them were being
55:06
Speaker 1: steered into a network that existed to satisfy the appetites
55:11
Speaker 1: of some of the wealthiest and most powerful men on earth.
55:15
Speaker 1: And what makes this even more disturbing is how effectively
55:18
Speaker 1: the system exploited distance and isolation. A young girl flown
55:22
Speaker 1: thousands of miles from home doesn't have the same support
55:25
Speaker 1: system she would in her own country. She doesn't have
55:29
Speaker 1: family nearby. She doesn't necessarily speak the language fluently. She
55:33
Speaker 1: doesn't understand the legal system. That vulnerability becomes leverage. And
55:39
Speaker 1: in a trafficking operation, leverage is everything. For years, whispers
55:43
Speaker 1: about Brunel circulated within the modeling industry. Survivors talked. Rumors
55:48
Speaker 1: traveled through agencies and fashion circles. And yet the pipeline continued.
55:54
Speaker 1: Flights continued, recruitment continued, the system kept moving forward, quietly
55:59
Speaker 1: feeding Epstein's network with new victims from abroad. And that's
56:03
Speaker 1: why the Brunel connection is so important to understand. It
56:07
Speaker 1: exposes the logistical backbone of Epstein's operation. It demonstrates that
56:12
Speaker 1: this wasn't just a collection of crimes committed in isolation,
56:16
Speaker 1: it was an infrastructure. An interconnected web of recruiters, travel arrangements,
56:21
Speaker 1: modeling contracts, handlers, and wealthy clients. A system that crossed
56:26
Speaker 1: borders and operated in the blind spots between jurisdictions. And
56:30
Speaker 1: the tragedy is that much of that system was never
56:33
Speaker 1: fully dismantled in a court of law. Jean-Luc Brunel died
56:37
Speaker 1: in custody before facing trial. Epstein himself died before answering
56:41
Speaker 1: the full scope of the allegations against him. That means
56:45
Speaker 1: that many of the operational details, the full reach of
56:48
Speaker 1: the recruitment networks, the complete list of facilitators, the extent
56:53
Speaker 1: of the international pipeline remain partially hidden. But the outlines
56:57
Speaker 1: are there. Survivors have described it. Investigators have traced it.
57:02
Speaker 1: Documents and depositions have pointed to it again and again.
57:06
Speaker 1: A recruitment channel stretching from vulnerable communities in South and
57:10
Speaker 1: Central America into the heart of Epstein's world. And when
57:14
Speaker 1: you understand that, the Epstein story stops being a scandal
57:18
Speaker 1: about elites behaving badly. It becomes something much larger. It
57:24
Speaker 1: becomes a case study in how trafficking networks can hide
57:27
