- 4:50welcome to this week's, sorry, this month's live stream and
- 4:53also this week's podcast. So it's a bit of A2 Fer usually,
- 4:58you know, I do these once a month on Monday nights or a
- 5:01Friday night if I happen to not have anything going on.
- 5:03But I know not, not a lot of people get to view these things
- 5:07live when they're happening during the week.
- 5:11But this is this is when I'm going to do it.
- 5:13So, you know, if you want to interact with me live, just know
- 5:17that it'll be when I usually film for a podcast.
- 5:20I, I have a busy life and I can't just, you know, do things
- 5:27on the whim for the sake of, you know, a few people here or
- 5:30there. But I hope you're doing well.
- 5:32I hope you're enjoying this heat.
- 5:35I guess it's, it's, I don't enjoy it.
- 5:36It's it's quite miserable. And we're in for more of it.
- 5:39We got temps to come in up this week and next week in, in, you
- 5:42know, triple digit heat. So whatever it is that you do
- 5:45for a living, please be safe, stay hydrated, you know, drink
- 5:47plenty of water. I know that's what I'd be doing
- 5:50nowadays. It's it's, it's, you know, I, I
- 5:52filled this cup up 30 minutes ago and it's almost done.
- 5:57I just stay hydrated. It's important.
- 6:01Thank you for tuning in. This is again, a monthly live
- 6:03stream. So if you have questions out in
- 6:05the comments that you want to leave or thoughts about anything
- 6:08that's on your mind, please feel free to do so and engage with
- 6:11me, interact with me. This is my once a month
- 6:13opportunity to, you know, get some FaceTime with you folks out
- 6:18here in Facebook and YouTube lands.
- 6:20And yeah, see what it is that's on your mind.
- 6:23We do have something to to go over today from an e-mail that I
- 6:26received literally just yesterday, kind of in a, in a
- 6:29way for like a response in a way to A, to a blog article that I
- 6:34posted. And we have our first comment
- 6:38here on YouTube. Fun times at Ridgemont High.
- 6:41How you doing there? Says you were the first even
- 6:43podcast I started listening to. I appreciate your episodes a
- 6:46lot. I'm a trucker and listen to them
- 6:48often. Awesome, man.
- 6:48Well, or ma'am, Sir, lady, I don't know, but whoever you are,
- 6:53I hope you're having fun at Ridgemont High there and being
- 6:58safe out there on the road. Thank you so much for tuning in
- 7:01and listening while you're out there on the road.
- 7:03I'm glad that we can keep the company out here.
- 7:07I again usually do these on Monday nights, but yesterday my
- 7:11bonus daughter was her water broke and she's been in the
- 7:16hospital since yesterday doing the whole child birth thing.
- 7:20So that's awesome. She's doing well.
- 7:24Oh, hey, David, we got here. David Klan over there on
- 7:27Facebook. Halen, welcome to the live
- 7:30stream. David, good to see you again and
- 7:31thanks for always popping in and saying hi.
- 7:33I know you usually work nights and I appreciate you, you know,
- 7:38taking the time out of your evening just to to say hey
- 7:40there, hope, hope all is well with you and yours out there in
- 7:43your neck of the woods. I will also be hitting on the so
- 7:49today is Tuesday as it as it stands right now, whether you
- 7:52know, we're we're we're streaming live.
- 7:55For those of you that missed this during the live stream and
- 7:57you catch this later on either Patreon or any of the other
- 8:01audio platforms like you know, fun times at Ridgemont high
- 8:05listens to the podcast. This will be airing on Thursday.
- 8:09But for the for I will be on the road on Thursday.
- 8:12I will be on the road very early heading up north, going back to
- 8:16my home state of New York to visit with my sister.
- 8:21We haven't we haven't gotten any FaceTime since our mother died
- 8:25last year and no real quality time since our dad died a couple
- 8:30years ago. So it's going to be good to
- 8:33spend some time with with her and the family there.
- 8:36Congratulations on the new addition to the family.
- 8:38Thank you so much. It is a new addition to little
- 8:41boy. His name is Elaine.
- 8:45Hello there, Michael Thacker, Always good to see you here,
- 8:48Sir. Joining on Facebook again.
- 8:49Good to see you man and good to good to see everybody that's
- 8:52watching right now. We got several people here and
- 8:55throughout different places. So check in down below.
- 8:58I'll get to you when I can, but as I mentioned, you know, on
- 9:03Thursday when this episode airs everywhere else, I'll be on the
- 9:07road myself. So probably by the time this
- 9:10airs, I will hopefully be somewhere close to the Virginia
- 9:13State line or just a little bit outside of Knoxville.
- 9:17We'll see. So I'm going to be leaving very
- 9:20early that morning because I want to.
- 9:23I'm making just a straight shot and it's about a 13 hour drive
- 9:27up there to the area of New York where I'm going.
- 9:30We have an interesting thing to talk about today, but I will
- 9:33also be glad to answer any questions or or comment on any
- 9:37of your thoughts that you put down in the comments section.
- 9:40So do feel free to do that. This is very interactive.
- 9:42It's a a great opportunity for me to get to to know my audience
- 9:46and reconnect with some folks. Right, Michael?
- 9:51Thank you. Yeah, I'm just going up there
- 9:53for a visit. He says hope everything goes
- 9:54well on the travel back home. Thank you.
- 9:57I'm not going to be there for very long and just a couple of
- 10:02days really, but going to make the most of the time that I have
- 10:07and then take it easy on the way back.
- 10:09I've got a little bit of a detour pit stop on the way back,
- 10:12some of which I might film, you know, or, or put out some
- 10:16content. I'm going to a very familiar
- 10:19place on the way back home to sort of break up the travel.
- 10:23And that way I'm not so tuckered out when I get back to the
- 10:28Tennessee at the beginning of next week.
- 10:33So what are we going to talk about today?
- 10:35Well, if, if any of you follow me on on Facebook, I don't think
- 10:41I shared it to the YouTube platform because he doesn't
- 10:44really push out like article links and stuff very well, at
- 10:47least not for me. But if you head over to my
- 10:49Facebook page, there's a there's a new blog article that was
- 10:52posted day before yesterday. I think it was Thursday or
- 10:59sorry, Monday night. Was it Sunday night, today's
- 11:01Tuesday, So Sunday night about us being chosen by the gods, you
- 11:07know, and how that can be more of a burden than a badge, you
- 11:13know, in within dramatic Heathenry and and understanding
- 11:17what you know what a lot of like modern heathens, modern people
- 11:22when they especially when they first find Heathenry, you know,
- 11:25we see a lot of you see a lot of people claiming to have been
- 11:30chosen by the gods. The gods chose me to follow
- 11:33them, right, And that is just simply not the way that this
- 11:39world view works. Whichever dog is laying right
- 11:41there. Go on, get get.
- 11:46I said, go on, get. That sounded real sudden there
- 11:48for a minute, but they get to be bothersome there by the door,
- 11:52scratching and sniffing and and all that.
- 11:54So shaking and baking. Yeah.
- 11:57The, the whole like notion of, of the gods choosing us for some
- 12:00reason or another. And that's why we are heathen.
- 12:07I'm not gonna make, I'm not gonna say that this is the case
- 12:10for all, for all people or for all situations, but for, for for
- 12:17us to see it as much as we do. That is absurd.
- 12:20I mean, it's just that's not how the gods have ever operated by
- 12:25and large. There might be a few cases that
- 12:27we can like read about in, in a saga or in, you know, such story
- 12:32where a hero or a king or something was was, you know,
- 12:37marked or, you know, noticed by the gods to be able to do
- 12:41something of renown to do some great thing that the gods had
- 12:46some sort of interest in. But you know, like a random
- 12:51person who, you know, I don't know who, who, who, who drives
- 12:57Uber or does Uber eats or, you know, works at Walmart or works
- 13:00in a factory or works in ITI mean like the gods aren't don't
- 13:03choose people that way. At least that's not the that's
- 13:06not the way that the the the larger world view of things with
- 13:10dramatic people's were or are or or have been.
- 13:13And I got an e-mail following that article.
- 13:17So anyway, I posted on my Facebook and, and check it out,
- 13:22but it's on randomheathenramblings.com and
- 13:24just go to my blog page there and you'll see what I you'll see
- 13:28what I wrote. But this is an interesting
- 13:31e-mail that I got. It's from somebody who their
- 13:34name or their, their, their, their name in their e-mail is
- 13:39spear carrier, the irreverent. So if that's if that's an
- 13:45indication of, you know, what's to come, it's an interesting,
- 13:51it's an interesting, you know, screen name to have but but he
- 13:56wrote in, they wrote in again, I don't know.
- 13:57This isn't this is not a very gender specific title or or or
- 14:02whatever to have screen name to have.
- 14:04But they wrote in and they said, you know, first, thank you for
- 14:10thank you incredibly for that post.
- 14:12It explains the past few months and I've been seriously needing
- 14:15that. Talking again about the the blog
- 14:17posts of being chosen by the gods, they say it also posted on
- 14:23a day I've been I've thrown up my hands at the entire pantheon
- 14:29and told them I was walking away.
- 14:32Did they understand walking away?
- 14:35So could you perhaps help explain how to get the roller
- 14:40coaster ride to be less loopy? I'm not joking, I'm not making
- 14:46fun, but I'm but a simple comic book maker that liked to dance
- 14:53and ended up literally claimed. And when you said claimed, I
- 14:56practically melted on my desk and said fucking gods yes that.
- 15:03And although the gods were in the background my whole life, I
- 15:07never dreamed I'd be following the dead shaman ways from the
- 15:12family nearly every night using whatever music suits.
- 15:16So yeah. So.
- 15:18Spear carrier, the irreverent is, is feeling them some sort of
- 15:22way. And I keyed in on the on on
- 15:25their main question, which was again, explain how to get the
- 15:30roller coaster ride to be less loopy.
- 15:36So what do we do? We'll put that into into terms
- 15:38that we could all maybe understand.
- 15:39You know what, for me, what it sounds like is this, this
- 15:43experience that, that they're having is full of dips and turns
- 15:47and, and loops and, you know, there's no real straight clear
- 15:55path. It's, it's, it's, it's very
- 15:57disruptive. You know, there's a lot of
- 15:58things going on with them that they're asking for, for any
- 16:10advice or, or, or suggestions on how to, to lessen that.
- 16:16And, you know, I've thought about it since I responded, but
- 16:18my initial response, of course, was saying thank you and, and,
- 16:22and, and all that. But my initial response was to
- 16:24say that, you know, I don't know of any way of controlling the
- 16:29ride speed or trajectory. All I know how to do is do my
- 16:39best to get used to it. And because the ride is what the
- 16:44ride is, a lot of times the, the, the trajectory and the, and
- 16:48the way that the things are going is there's a lot of
- 16:53factors to, to, to take into consideration.
- 16:55There's a lot of things that have put the, put things in
- 17:02their course, you know, put, put things on course the way that
- 17:04they're going. So if one person's path is
- 17:08feeling much more tumultuous, much more unsettled, much more
- 17:13like a, a crazy roller coaster ride than than others, I'm
- 17:20inclined to, I'm inclined to, to, to reply with a, you know,
- 17:26what has caused the ride to be this, this way?
- 17:29Because I can't, I can't necessarily say for me that the
- 17:34riot has been that disruptive. You know, I've not claimed or,
- 17:38or made any claims that, you know, I'm on this path because,
- 17:44because the gods have claimed me or the gods have chosen me to do
- 17:50anything or whatever that that's, that's not a claim that
- 17:52I'm making or, or really had think have made ever.
- 18:01I think, I think, I think in the past I've used terms like I've
- 18:04been called, you know, the gods called to me and I answered and
- 18:07that sort of thing. But even then, you know, I
- 18:08don't, I don't know if that was more of a, a hangover of, of
- 18:16Christian baggage where, you know, the divine select the
- 18:19chosen, you know, like that sort of thing.
- 18:23Because of that, again, that was a mindset that I had very, very
- 18:25early on in my Heathenry first coming into discovering all
- 18:30this. But so I've never, you know,
- 18:34been like I was chosen by Odin or Thor or Tear or whatever to
- 18:38do this thing that or the other. I've never.
- 18:43But I know other people have had their own UPG experiences that
- 18:48gave them this notion or gave them this idea of being
- 18:53selected, chosen, you know, marked, claimed, whatever by the
- 19:00gods to be on this path. And their paths aren't as
- 19:05tumultuous, you know. Is it?
- 19:09Is it, you know, riddled with difficulty?
- 19:11Are there things that make it tough?
- 19:15Yeah. I mean, that's that really,
- 19:17that's life. You know, it doesn't really
- 19:19matter what your religious inclination is or your spiritual
- 19:22path is. I mean, life is full of things
- 19:24that are going to make it hard and make it difficult.
- 19:31But I think I understand, you know, the the separation between
- 19:36just regular life and the difficult things that come up to
- 19:39make it as such. And the difference between those
- 19:42that and this apparent or seeming crazy, unexplainable
- 19:52almost, you know, disastrous chaotic existence that one has
- 19:58after having been what they feel is to be, you know, chosen by
- 20:02divinity or or marked by divinity in a way I can say.
- 20:07And this again, this is this is my own you PG, that when, when
- 20:12you stand up for something that is right, that is inherently
- 20:17right. When when?
- 20:17When you make a claim or when you stake a claim to do
- 20:20something that is honorable. The path of the honorable.
- 20:28Is, is, is objectively more difficult?
- 20:31You know, most people that choose the righteous way of
- 20:36doing things are on a path that is very difficult to maintain.
- 20:40There's a lot of things that come up to tempt you away from
- 20:43that, from that, you know, that straight path or from that
- 20:47honorable way. There's a lot of things that
- 20:50appeal to us as, as, as, as people, as human beings that are
- 20:58not honorable things, behaviors, lifestyles, choices.
- 21:04You know, you can weave those threads and the outcome will be
- 21:09what it is. And that's what I think is, is,
- 21:11is happening a lot is or maybe not a lot, but I think that's
- 21:15what's happening when, when people are asking questions like
- 21:18what how do I, how do I slow down this, this crazy roller
- 21:24coaster of a ride? How do I make it less loopy?
- 21:26How do I, you know, not have such a, a crappy existence?
- 21:35You make different choices, you make better choices.
- 21:37You, you make honorable choices and, and stop playing the blame
- 21:41GameStop, blaming your destiny, fate, the gods, divinity,
- 21:46whatever. Like stop blaming anybody except
- 21:50the only one to blame and that's yourself.
- 21:59There's, there's, I've seen way too many examples of things
- 22:03happening for people that are as a result of poor decisions on
- 22:08their part and they want to blame it on everything else
- 22:14besides that. And then they're like, well, I
- 22:16guess that's just it. It's, you know, because I've
- 22:19made these choices. I'm just stuck in this situation
- 22:23indefinitely, forever. There's no way out.
- 22:27No, there is. And and quit.
- 22:29Quit. Quit thinking that way.
- 22:33Quit. Quit believing that you're just
- 22:35stuck in this loopy roller coaster ride because of past
- 22:40decisions or because of anything.
- 22:41Make it. Make a better decision.
- 22:42Make a better choice. Make better, you know, choose a
- 22:46better path. And I've seen the opposite too.
- 22:51I've seen where where people are struck with adversity, with, you
- 22:57know, with, with things that they're making the best
- 23:01decisions that they can with the circumstances that they've been
- 23:04given, with the life that they've been dealt.
- 23:07They're making the best decisions that they can make.
- 23:09And there's still things that are hitting them that are making
- 23:13it difficult. And some people give it, give
- 23:17in, some people give up, some people revert to substance
- 23:22abuse. Some people just throw the towel
- 23:24in and, and say the hell with it, I'm not doing this anymore.
- 23:27And they, you know, there's a lot of different ways people can
- 23:31quit on life. And I've seen, I've seen a lot
- 23:36of them, maybe not all of them, but I've seen probably most of
- 23:39them that I can think of. You know, I've experienced, I've
- 23:45I've, I've experienced a lot of the ways that could come to mind
- 23:49of, of people exiting this life, checking out, all right,
- 23:55whatever. And it again, it, it goes down
- 24:02to what are you going to do with the, the hand that's been dealt?
- 24:04What are you going to do with the time that's been given to
- 24:05you? Are you going to blame other
- 24:07forces? Are you going to not be
- 24:09accountable right there? Yeah.
- 24:11David, David, clan accountability is part of
- 24:13growing. You know there is no growth
- 24:15without pain. You're not going to grow in
- 24:18comfortability. The hard things, the hardships,
- 24:23the adversities of the, the ordeals that come.
- 24:25These are the things that from a heathen perspective, from a
- 24:30heathen world, these are the things that breed it worth.
- 24:35Adversity breeds worth. Ordeal breeds worth.
- 24:38If any of you people have been around long enough to know who
- 24:40Eric Shervin is, the word Weaver over in East Texas or Fridgar
- 24:45Chieftain, Chieftain, other Frigari and Gothi.
- 24:50Eric was saying this before I was, you know, he was, he was
- 24:53doing some heathen content a little bit before I started.
- 24:56I found him shortly after I started doing, you know, YouTube
- 24:59videos and all that. And one of the things that I
- 25:01remember him saying is is adversity breeds worth.
- 25:05Ordeal breeds worth, but there's a conscious choice that one has
- 25:11to make for that to happen. You're not, it's not you're not
- 25:15just going to go through, you know, you're not going to go
- 25:18through shit and come out smell like roses.
- 25:21I mean, you're going to have to clean up along the way.
- 25:23You're going to have to understand what it is to be
- 25:25burned and and to be tempered. You know, it's the thing about,
- 25:33it's the thing about fire, you know, look at natural examples
- 25:38of, you know, forging, right? Forging metal, forging steel,
- 25:44burning things, right? For to burn impurities out of it
- 25:47all, of all of the slag, all of the impurities that are
- 25:51subjected to beatings and high heat and intense stress, It
- 25:56brings the impurities to the surface so they can be
- 25:58extinguished or they can be abolished.
- 26:01They can be gotten rid of right a lesser and and that's
- 26:08tempering that that is that is putting things through adversity
- 26:12through through that process to make it better.
- 26:16You have to bring that stuff out in order for it to for the for
- 26:20the good to be revealed for the for the fine-tuned thing to be
- 26:25to be revealed right see David says heading into work.
- 26:30Have a good evening. Great, Thank you, David.
- 26:32And be safe at work tonight and stay cool, man.
- 26:34You know, even though you work at night, these, these nighttime
- 26:37temps are no joke either. So stay hydrated, stay cool.
- 26:40And thank you for for tuning in. But yeah, the how how do you how
- 26:47do you so how do you get the ride to be less loopy?
- 26:52Mr. or Missus spear carrier the irreverent again, I initially
- 26:59said you get used to the ride, but as I've been meditating on
- 27:03it and as I've been thinking about it and even talking over
- 27:05through it, now you have a choice to bail.
- 27:08You have a choice to get off the ride entirely.
- 27:11You know, change course, change get get on a different ride.
- 27:16Maybe, you know, maybe this rides not for you.
- 27:19Maybe maybe you got stuck on this ride because it looked cool
- 27:21to begin with. And then the more you sit on
- 27:29that and and go through it, it's like, no, this isn't my ride.
- 27:32Maybe another possibility is that maybe it is your ride and
- 27:40you have to go through this uncomfortability to be tempered
- 27:45for the purpose that you are to serve.
- 27:52You know, I'm not, I use myself for as an example, a lot of
- 27:56times when I talk about things that people ask to see if I can
- 28:02find a lesson in it that I've learned that can maybe, you
- 28:07know, be helpful to towards somebody else.
- 28:12And you know, I've been, I've been doing videos, I've been
- 28:19doing this podcast for, for a while now.
- 28:24You know, this is season 6. Every, every year brings in a
- 28:28new season where we're over halfway through season.
- 28:35We're we're over halfway through, you know, season.
- 28:38Did I say season 6? Is that right?
- 28:43Season 5, whatever the heck season we're in.
- 28:47But I mean, I've been doing this, you know, for for 6-7
- 28:49years now, content creation. I can't believe I just blanked
- 28:56on on what? I can't believe I just blanked
- 29:05on what season we're in. Got to be season 6 because this
- 29:14is the 6th, 6th year. Yeah, I'm, I'm tripping.
- 29:18It's season 6. So anyway, six seasons and got
- 29:22off track there for a second. Sorry, we're we're when, when I,
- 29:27when I look back on my journey that led me into doing content
- 29:33creation, You know, I'm by no means great at it.
- 29:39I've I've gotten better, but there's so much that goes into
- 29:43this that that not a lot of people know about or see that
- 29:46that that I could have let get to me and and I could have
- 29:51stopped doing this a long time ago.
- 29:53Had I let it get to me. Had I not had I thought that the
- 29:56ride was too loopy? Had I thought or felt that the
- 29:59ride wasn't for me? You know, get off this, let me
- 30:01off this ride. I'm not I don't want to play
- 30:04anymore. You know, if I'd given up
- 30:07instead of seeing that, hey, you know, I made a choice.
- 30:09I made a decision to do something and what does it look
- 30:18like if I just give up when it gets too hard?
- 30:22What does it look like when I throw the towel in, when things
- 30:27just get a little bit too uncomfortable or when I feel a
- 30:30little bit too stressed, you know?
- 30:33Now, it's not to say that there's times when I've needed
- 30:37to take a break and I've needed to, you know, hey, I'm getting a
- 30:40little woozy or let me off the ride and I, you know, whatever,
- 30:42get sick and then I'll feel better afterwards.
- 30:44But then I get back on the ride, you know, get back to doing
- 30:48things. And then through that
- 30:50conditioning through that, through those experiences of, of
- 30:53not feeling the greatest or feeling like I'm being worn down
- 30:57or I'm being defeated, I'm, I'm learning lessons and I'm getting
- 31:02something out of it. Is it the same as what, what is
- 31:05being talked about in this e-mail?
- 31:07Again, it, it, I'm not trying to compare, but it's, it's the
- 31:10closest thing that I can come up with is, you know, if I wanted
- 31:13to stop doing all of this and, and get off the ride because it
- 31:18got just because it got hard and, and, and whatever, I
- 31:22wouldn't be the man I am today. I wouldn't be involved with the
- 31:24things that I'm involved with. I wouldn't be capable of working
- 31:32through things that I've had to work through, not just by
- 31:35myself, but with others. You know, some of the some of
- 31:39the moments in a person's life where they're faced with
- 31:43hardships and you know, they need, they needed somebody, a
- 31:51strong somebody to, to lean on, you know, I mean.
- 31:58We have we have responsibilities of people do, but I'm saying
- 32:02like we men, you know, men have have a lot of responsibilities
- 32:09that they have to to answer for, you know, and.
- 32:14Sometimes it just, it really sucks and I, you know, sometimes
- 32:17I sit and see what's going on at, at any given moment and I
- 32:21go, how did this happen? How did I, how did this, how did
- 32:26I end up here? You know, how did I get to this
- 32:30point? And it's not, it's not saying
- 32:33that and regretting things. It's it's, I guess being honest
- 32:39with myself and realizing, man, I.
- 32:43I've got a lot going on, you know, and I don't think about it
- 32:47sometimes because I'm in that constant state of mind of, of
- 32:52being present, you know, getting it done, making it happen,
- 32:57working through whatever the, the difficult thing is, the
- 33:00harsh thing is, and just making it happen.
- 33:02Don't don't let the the don't let how bad something sucks ruin
- 33:08the trajection, you know, and the trajectory of of the way
- 33:11things are going. You I have a.
- 33:13Purpose and I need to serve that purpose and I need to learn as
- 33:19much as I can along the way. And if that sometimes means I
- 33:22need a break, I need to get off the ride, I need to just collect
- 33:24myself here. You know, there's a moment in
- 33:27time that I need to, to kind of slow down a bit or, or or
- 33:32whatever and, and be ready for the next thing.
- 33:35But those moments become less and less the stronger we become,
- 33:39the more capable we become, the more able that we are, the more
- 33:43prepared we make ourselves. Those moments are are needed
- 33:47less and less as we grow, as we advance and as we mature.
- 33:53You know, as we take accountability of things, like
- 33:55David said, that's where growth happens is in, in
- 33:59accountability. And as you grow, you know,
- 34:02you're going to be able to withstand more storms because
- 34:05the tree that grew as a sapling was very young and it bends and,
- 34:10and it's getting pushed around by all the storms and
- 34:12everything. And then as it withstands that
- 34:16and it, and it makes it into the, the strong oak that it is,
- 34:20you know, that sapling is, is no longer that it is now a strong
- 34:24oak and it can withstand the storm and it's not going to be
- 34:27swayed and beaten down by those things.
- 34:29So, you know, but you got to go through that.
- 34:34You got to go through those storms in order to get to that
- 34:36point. You know, I thought too about
- 34:39this whole analogy that we give to storms and, and how we, we
- 34:47tend to like put in an analogy of storms as, as, as trials and
- 34:55as adversities. You know, storms in our lives,
- 34:58the hardships, they're storms, right?
- 34:59That, that's what we'd like to put as an image or to compare
- 35:04to, is that when times are rough, it's because we're in a
- 35:09storm in our life. Well, that might be.
- 35:13But I've also adopted a thought of of, you know, storms are also
- 35:21bringing, bringing life. You know, the things that
- 35:25happened in the storm are bringing rain, the ozone in the
- 35:29air, the, the, the, the, the energy that storms bring and all
- 35:33that. Like it doesn't look like it at
- 35:34first because of its high intensity, destructive things
- 35:40that are going on when it's, you know, windy and Thunder and it's
- 35:44loud and it's, you know, high winds and all these things that
- 35:48can do so much. But it's but it's also bringing
- 35:51life and it's bringing growth. So are we are we too consumed
- 35:57and are we too like narrow minded or focused sometimes with
- 36:00these storms that we're experiencing and seeing them
- 36:03only as a means of breaking us down and challenging us and
- 36:07testing us and then putting us to our breaking point in order
- 36:12to persevere and be, you know, forged in the fire and to to
- 36:18have that or ordeal breed worth in US?
- 36:21Yeah, I mean, that's the obvious thing.
- 36:24But are we also? Seeing what's happening, that's
- 36:30a bit more subtle. You know, the rains that are
- 36:35beating in on us are, are watering our trees.
- 36:38Are they are they are nurturing us to be able to grow through
- 36:41this. You know, it's an interesting
- 36:45thing to think about. At least it is for me.
- 36:47And, you know, maybe, maybe, maybe it's something that's
- 36:51worth considering, you know, for, for others, too.
- 36:58And then, yeah, like I, I, so, you know, I don't know, whoever
- 37:02this person is, you know, spear carrier, the irreverent or the
- 37:07spear carrier, whoever you are, maybe there's just some things
- 37:10to think about. If you saw my article the other
- 37:13day, hopefully you'll see this. If you didn't see it live, you
- 37:17know, it'll, it'll be up on the podcast audio platforms on
- 37:21Thursday and over on Patreon on Friday.
- 37:23Sorry, Thursday as well, which by the way, if you folks are
- 37:26watching this and on your live now and watching this with me,
- 37:30you'll see at the bottom of the screen, you know the Patreon
- 37:32link there, patreon.com/midgard Musings.
- 37:35Normally my podcast videos are only up on on Patreon, so if you
- 37:39want to ever watch them, you'd have to join at the Carl tier.
- 37:43I don't do much on Patreon besides that.
- 37:47I don't share much over there because I want the, the, the
- 37:50videos to be the thing that people come to and see.
- 37:53So if you just join at the free level, that's great, but you're
- 37:56not going to see the videos unless you join at the Carl
- 37:58tier. And the Carl tier is just a
- 37:59$1.00 pledge. You know, that's a once a month
- 38:02thing. And and you get to watch these
- 38:05videos. So that way when, because a lot
- 38:08of times these, these, these, these platforms, dogs that'll
- 38:16scare them away. Shoo, go away, Quit sniffing by
- 38:18the door. Get in there thank you sorry
- 38:24guys the the videos are the best way to to do that $1.00 pledge
- 38:29is the best way to to show your support.
- 38:35So anyways, the the, the spear person spear carrier they I, I
- 38:39sent what I sent the other day and then they replied back with
- 38:42some other odd things. You know, I mean, I try to read
- 38:48people's messages as best I can, but sometimes people put me to
- 38:51the test with what they say and how they say it.
- 38:54They say I have other things. I hope you'll you'll ponder and
- 38:57answer eventually as I sit in my own tears and snot this morning.
- 39:02And I'm sorry, whoever you are that is going through something
- 39:07to feel so, so broken down. I hope it.
- 39:10I hope things get better for you.
- 39:14So like, I guess some of the things that they are having
- 39:19thoughts about is that, you know, when people attack us for
- 39:22being quote UN quote, tricked into the roller coaster.
- 39:30I mean, which are I mean, which were attacked, which were
- 39:35attacked, which were attacked, maybe because they didn't like
- 39:41the God that bit your face or something.
- 39:43Makes make that make sense. I mean, I don't know what that's
- 39:46supposed to mean. You're you're upset that people
- 39:49attack you for being tricked into this seemingly this this
- 39:53roller coaster the heck of them. Why?
- 39:56I mean, I don't know. And then they also say when
- 40:00people actually get angry, that you didn't want to be claimed
- 40:03and are looking for a way out early into the roller coat,
- 40:09looking for a way out early. Into the roller coaster ride
- 40:13because the gods in your personal because it's the gods
- 40:19in your personal autonomy. WTF is that?
- 40:24It's only. Your body, your.
- 40:26Choice when it's not a spirit or God.
- 40:31Again, I'm I'm, I'm, I don't know what to make of this.
- 40:34I don't know how to respond to this.
- 40:36Why are people getting angry that you didn't want to be
- 40:38claimed? Like who's actually out?
- 40:40You're getting angry at people for saying I didn't want this.
- 40:43I mean that like that's, that's a lesson that's being learned.
- 40:47You know, like there's, there's something going on with somebody
- 40:49that they're, they're wanting out.
- 40:50They're they're, they're struggling with the feelings of
- 40:53I can't do this, this is too much for me or whatever.
- 40:55I mean, at least that's what it sounds like.
- 40:57Who's out here getting angry at people for that?
- 41:01I mean, I know that there's been toxicity in the heathen
- 41:04community for for a very, very long time.
- 41:08I see it. I, I don't really get involved
- 41:12online much with healing anymore because of the toxic and it's
- 41:17there's a lot of people that think they know stuff that don't
- 41:19and I'm just not, there's a lot, there's plenty of people who do.
- 41:21Don't get me wrong, I'm very picky and very choosy about who
- 41:24I get involved with online, like far as online groups, but I do
- 41:28know that, you know, people, people are mean and when they
- 41:34can get a rise out of you and they can, you know, troll you in
- 41:38a way that that they see you're bothered by it.
- 41:43That's how they get their rocks off, man.
- 41:45That's how they there's they're that bored with life.
- 41:48They're that unfulfilled and they have such minimal purpose
- 41:53in their own life that they're that they're wasting their time
- 41:57trying to tear others down. So I don't know if that's the
- 42:02kind of thing that you're talking about is when people are
- 42:04are behaving that way or, or something else.
- 42:11And then he said or they said finally or nicely, I had to do.
- 42:16Now this one, I think I understand very clearly.
- 42:19They said when you try to do the traditional thing and find an
- 42:24elder to tell the beginning to so you can go to the most, go to
- 42:29the next step, and then you get turned away by more than 30
- 42:34people, one of which was a friend.
- 42:38But now you wonder about the guy.
- 42:41That one's a big one. In my honest opinion.
- 42:43Being claimed hurts. It literally hurts, yes.
- 42:47I mean, listen, if you, if you're, if we're going to talk
- 42:51about like this is all you PG stuff, OK?
- 42:53Like if, if being claimed by the gods, if you've had enough
- 42:57things happen within your own unverified personal notice and
- 43:00your own experiences on things that it is without a shadow of a
- 43:04doubt for you that you are marked or claimed by divinity,
- 43:11then that means that you've been called.
- 43:12To a higher. Purpose you've been you've been
- 43:15seen or been been been identified as the person for the
- 43:20job. And and most of the time, even
- 43:24in the stories, the the heroes that that that happened to
- 43:28didn't believe it. They were not prepared.
- 43:30They were not, they didn't see greatness in themselves.
- 43:34They didn't see worthiness in themselves.
- 43:38But it's a challenge. It's it's a test and it's
- 43:41something to rise to. So I think I understand this
- 43:45particular sentence is that when you are trying to, you know,
- 43:50follow a more like traditional way where there's, you know,
- 43:53everything's researched and maybe you have more of a
- 43:56reconstructionist type person and, and things are more, you
- 44:03know, built around that sort of mentality.
- 44:07Maybe you've just been around the wrong people.
- 44:09And I don't know, man, like 30 people, 30 some people and an
- 44:12elder to go to and, and be turned away.
- 44:16That says, you know, this is one of two things.
- 44:19Either you're in the wrong crowd or they saw something that was
- 44:27like this isn't it? And you, are you willing enough
- 44:33to face the music and be honest enough with yourself that when
- 44:3830 people say something, that's, that is a there, there's,
- 44:47there's, there's, I'm more inclined to, to think that that
- 44:50whatever is going on that 30 different people are saying, it
- 44:57might be true. It just might be true.
- 44:59I don't know this situation. I don't know the details of
- 45:02everything that's happening, but I do know that when you start
- 45:09getting into those numbers, when people are that you're involved
- 45:15with that many are turning you back or turning you down or, or
- 45:21saying all the same thing. And hey, it might be true and
- 45:24you might need to examine yourself.
- 45:28What else did they say? So then finally, after having
- 45:32tasted the freedom of the skies, waking up this morning, knowing
- 45:35this roller coaster ride is over, your kin are blocked or
- 45:39gone, and you're alone without the skies.
- 45:45Just like you knew would happen in the beginning when everyone
- 45:49was angry at you for wanting to avoid this day.
- 45:54That one especially maybe get some a hole to justify why it's
- 46:00OK to better to fetter someone who was taken simple joy in
- 46:10waking walking on the sun and lost the pant size he said.
- 46:18Or they said it again. They these are outlandish
- 46:21issues, but after what I've experienced and heard from
- 46:24others, they are big ones. This is, I mean, it is
- 46:30outlandish what I'm hearing. It's it's, it's wild to think
- 46:32that this is, this is anything like this is going on and trying
- 46:36to decipher or read the message and and understand.
- 46:39I've reread it several times and I'm even, I'm left scratching my
- 46:42head like, what are you even like?
- 46:44What is this even talking about? But after what I've.
- 46:51Experienced and heard from others.
- 46:53They're big ones because when you're desperately when you
- 46:56desperately seek guidance and help for this, you're told to
- 46:59quote, send out love or go to the witch forum or I'll get back
- 47:08to you on that. By someone that who one minute
- 47:11claims they don't know what the they don't know the Lord and
- 47:15then the other day admit that they know it all and they just
- 47:19decide to let you get near suicidal all alone because
- 47:24tribalism. So, yeah, there's a lot of,
- 47:31there's a lot going on here, man.
- 47:37Look, I understand that people are try that people try their
- 47:42best. And then, and then when they're
- 47:44faced with a difficult task, like when they're faced with a
- 47:49difficult circumstance through somebody's behavior, right?
- 47:52Some people are a lot to handle and, and, and not everybody can
- 47:56handle them. I have run into plenty of people
- 48:02where I'm just like, you're too much for me.
- 48:03I, you know, there, there's, there's something about your
- 48:06energy, there's something about your ways that just I, I, it's
- 48:11too much for me, at least at that moment.
- 48:14And I try, you know, I protect my peace to protect what I'm
- 48:18around. And that's what a lot of people,
- 48:19I think ultimately are, are trying to do.
- 48:21They, they may mean well, trying to help, you know, giving
- 48:25suggestions, whatever. And then there's, but the,
- 48:29what's really needing to happen is something more than what
- 48:31those suggestions can offer. And so I get it.
- 48:34There's a frustration that you're feeling when you're, you
- 48:41know, you're at your wit's end. You, you, you, you feel a
- 48:43certain way about something and nobody either believes you or
- 48:46nobody's giving you that validation or that credibility,
- 48:52or they're trying to solve the problem for you in their way.
- 48:55Instead of listening to what's going on and just being there as
- 48:57a support and, and, and whatnot. It's, it's, it is, it is a very,
- 49:08it's, it's, it's a treacherous field to, to be in when you are
- 49:16faced with the thing like being marked, you know, being claimed
- 49:20by divinity cause who, you know, it's not something that you can
- 49:34open up in a book and be like, see, I'm feeling these exact
- 49:36symptoms. This was what this means.
- 49:37La, la, la, la, la, you know, all week, all you can go by is
- 49:40what you're feeling. And in many, in many cases, a
- 49:47lot of people don't want to accept that.
- 49:50They want to, you know, look, you're just, you're, you know,
- 49:53need to get back on your meds or you need new meds or you're off
- 49:56your rocker or, oh, you just need to make better decisions.
- 50:00I mean, I don't know the whole situation about every, every
- 50:05e-mail that I get. And I clearly don't know enough
- 50:07about what's going on here to, to, to really dial in a well
- 50:12thought out response. I'm I'm talking through it a lot
- 50:15myself, as you can tell, because I'm the only one talking.
- 50:18There's nobody else in the comment section asking any
- 50:22questions. So I'm so I'm filling in this
- 50:24time trying to understand what spear carrier the irreverent was
- 50:30saying. I hope I'm doing it just as I'm
- 50:33hope I'm doing well enough with just A1 sided view of things,
- 50:39but it's tricky, you know, I don't know, does anybody else,
- 50:42or has anybody else ever ran into a situation where a person
- 50:47in your life came to you and they, they were, they were
- 50:52troubled beyond trouble. They, they were maddened by the
- 50:56things going on in their life? I've had a touch of that, You
- 50:59know, I mean, I've, I chose to pursue a path of, of heathenry
- 51:04that, that had a lot to do with things that Odin is known for.
- 51:11And there's a madness that comes with that.
- 51:14You know, it can take your mind. I believe it's one of the, the
- 51:19things that that makes Odin so fearful of losing his mind, you
- 51:23know, over his thoughts is, is, you know, yes, he fears for the
- 51:27loss of his thought, but he fears more for the loss of his,
- 51:30of his memory, his, his, his sanity, his, his, you know, his
- 51:33mind doing the things that are involved with, you know,
- 51:40esotericism, magic, the runes study, travelling, like the
- 51:47various things that, that Odin is known for, right.
- 51:50And then really embracing that that is a, that is, that is a
- 51:57madding experience. And if you're not, you don't
- 52:00play around with stuff like that 'cause it will take, it will
- 52:03take the weak minded, it will, it will put you in places.
- 52:08And I, you know, I wonder half the time if people are just not
- 52:12respecting the process, they're not respecting things well
- 52:15enough. And they're just dive of all
- 52:17Willy nilly. And you end up with situations
- 52:20like this where people are out here desperate to try to find
- 52:24someone that can make sense of it all.
- 52:25And everyone's like, talk to you later, Looney Tunes.
- 52:28You know, I don't know what's up, Michael Lee says.
- 52:35Not exactly sure what advice I can add to this.
- 52:37I'm confused on what they want. OK, so I'm not the only one.
- 52:40I mean, I hate to, I'm reading it as they sent it to me, you
- 52:45know what I mean? So I mean I, I, I can only go by
- 52:47what they, they sent. I know it initially, at first I
- 52:50got the, I got the thing I got, I think I got a good dial.
- 52:53I think I dialed in well enough on the initial e-mail where
- 52:58they're like, hey, you know, that that article really spoke
- 53:00to me. And you know what, how you get
- 53:01off this, You know, how do you make the ride less loopy?
- 53:04And I, I got that. But then, you know, after my
- 53:06initial response, and I'm saying what I'm saying, they they they
- 53:09fired back with this just, it was like they just threw a
- 53:13grenade in there and everything just went to pieces in the end.
- 53:18I'm going over there. I'm like, OK, first of all,
- 53:23what? You know, OK, I'm not the only
- 53:27one. At least I'm at least I'm not,
- 53:30at least I'm not crazy. But what else, man?
- 53:36Yeah. So I'm going to, I'm going to be
- 53:39going to New York. I mentioned this before, I'm
- 53:42leaving the day after tomorrow, very early in the morning before
- 53:48the sun comes up. So I want to, you know, I want
- 53:51to see East Tennessee by daylight.
- 53:55Yeah, I'll see more than I'll see Middle Tennessee when it's
- 53:57getting sun's coming up. But anyway, it's going to be in
- 53:59the middle of the night when I leave.
- 54:01And why am I going up there? Like I said before, my mother,
- 54:06you know, she passed away last June on Father's Day.
- 54:10And then my dad, he passed away two years ago in April, 2 months
- 54:16apart. My parents died a year away
- 54:20from, you know, a year apart from each other.
- 54:24So like, dad was April 16th, mom was June 16th in 23/20/24
- 54:33respectively. And, you know, I was up there
- 54:36after my dad passed and it was a very odd time to be interacting
- 54:42with people. And and then when mom passed, I
- 54:47didn't know about it that until the day it happened.
- 54:50So there was, you know, there was nothing that I needed to do
- 54:53or be there for at the time it happened.
- 54:58So, you know, it's been over a year since then and you know,
- 55:03I've been talking to my sister and I'm like, we should we we
- 55:05need to get together, man. Like we need to, we need to sit
- 55:07down, we need to break bread. We need to just talk about
- 55:11things, you know, get some clothes or get some healing
- 55:15between the two of us because we don't, you know, we have our own
- 55:18lives now. And, and you know, I just turned
- 55:2140 this past year and, and she's about four years younger than
- 55:24me. You know, she's got a daughter
- 55:26now. I don't, you know, we didn't, we
- 55:32didn't, we didn't really heal together as, as brother and
- 55:39sister when our parents passed, you know, we were, we each went
- 55:42through our own thing and we each experienced our own grief
- 55:45and still do to you know, I'm sure you know, my sister, she
- 55:48still has, you know, days where it's tough just like I do and
- 55:52whatnot. But we never got, we never got
- 55:55the chance to grieve, to comfort one another as siblings, you
- 55:59know, And I feel like that's a really important process,
- 56:02important step if at all possible.
- 56:04And I'm thankful to be able to get the chance to go up there
- 56:09and do that. Michael Thacker says that from
- 56:12what I gathered regarding the e-mail and everything that I was
- 56:16saying is that from what I gathered is they want out of
- 56:20Heathenry, but they also want much deeper and quick connection
- 56:25with the gods. And I mean, that very well could
- 56:27be. Maybe they want the yeah, maybe
- 56:32they want the cake, but they don't want to make it or they
- 56:34want the, the things that go with it, or they want something
- 56:37outside of Heathenry that that connects them to divinity.
- 56:43Cause yeah, I mean, I don't, I don't even, I don't even, I
- 56:48mean, the name spear carrier, the irreverent spear carrier
- 56:51kind of has connotations of being somebody that is heathen.
- 56:58But I don't get any real indication from their e-mail
- 57:04that they even are, because I hear terms just like, you know,
- 57:09the gods. And that could be anything that
- 57:11could be any gods, you know what I mean?
- 57:13Like, I know this is a heathen platform that I'm, you know, or
- 57:16heathen when I put heathen content out.
- 57:19So I have to assume that they're referring to heathen divinity,
- 57:24you know, when they say the gods.
- 57:25But in terms of all the other things that they're talking
- 57:27about, there's no, there's no verbiage.
- 57:29There's no indication that what they're referring to is even
- 57:32related to heathen. So you might be right, Michael.
- 57:34Maybe they are, maybe they're in Heathenry and they they wanting
- 57:37out of it because yeah, I just, I keep rereading over this and I
- 57:46probably will again from time to time just to see what the heck
- 57:52did I miss if I missed anything. But I mean, like I said, I've
- 57:55read over it several times and it just, it reads like, what is
- 58:00it was? It reads like, you know, radio
- 58:05putting together like a, you know, an IKEA furniture set.
- 58:08It, It, it reads like that, which is not a slight to this
- 58:13person in any way. Don't get me wrong.
- 58:14They, they hear this or watch this.
- 58:16I mean, I'm not, I'm not putting you down for this.
- 58:19I'm just genuinely trying to understand.
- 58:23And it's a little bit it's, it's a challenge.
- 58:24So did the best we could, right? And but yeah, so I mean, you
- 58:31know, I'll be, I'll be in the, the, the lower Hudson Valley
- 58:34area. I'll be getting there Thursday
- 58:36evening because again, it's about a about a 13 hour plus
- 58:43drive from from where I live to where I'm going.
- 58:48And there's an hour time difference and all that.
- 58:51So it'll be, you know, in the evening, early evening when I
- 58:56get up there, and then I'll be there all day Friday and all day
- 58:59Saturday. And then I get up early Sunday
- 59:01morning and I start the trip back.
- 59:04But I'm not heading back to Tennessee on Sunday.
- 59:06I'm making a pit stop along the way.
- 59:08I'm not going to tell you where I'm going yet, but you might see
- 59:12some, you might see some stuff that reveals that when the time
- 59:19comes, I'll put it this way. It's been a place that I've been
- 59:23that I've shared content from before, been there several
- 59:30times, and I've shared content in different formats from this
- 59:36place on this channel on this page before.
- 59:44So vague post is vague. Find out that that'll be
- 59:49sometime, you know, Sunday. So I'm so that way I don't get
- 59:53back late on Sunday or actually, you know, when my initial plan
- 1:00:00was, I'm just going to stay set Friday, Saturday, you know,
- 1:00:02Thursday, get up there Thursday, say Friday, Saturday, Sunday,
- 1:00:05leave early Monday morning and then get back on Monday and have
- 1:00:09to like get right back into the gear swing, you know, get, you
- 1:00:13know, back into the swing of things, kick it into gear for
- 1:00:17work on Tuesday. And I'm like, I'm not doing
- 1:00:19that. I'm taking it slow because I
- 1:00:21don't know how it's going to go. While I'm up there with my
- 1:00:24sister, you know what I mean? Like, I don't know how it's
- 1:00:25going to play out. And I want to be able to the
- 1:00:28chance to sort of integrate and, you know, take it easy.
- 1:00:34Go on the way back. Your guess is the Carolinas.
- 1:00:39OK, we'll see what's up there. John Deeson, who says hello,
- 1:00:44darling, nice to see you. It's been a long time.
- 1:00:52Just something or another, I forget.
- 1:00:55Conway, Conway Twitty, he's the one that sang a song.
- 1:00:57Let's keep it that way. What's what's up there?
- 1:01:00John? Good to see you.
- 1:01:01Thanks for tuning in. We're just rambling, man.
- 1:01:03You know, it's a casual Tuesday Night Live stream and just got
- 1:01:08done going over this really interesting e-mail from a feller
- 1:01:12or person. And I don't know, there was a
- 1:01:19lot of questions to be asked with with with less answers to
- 1:01:24be given of anything solid, but some interesting things that
- 1:01:27come up. So, you know, you just have to
- 1:01:30to rewatch and it's a low audience viewership tonight.
- 1:01:34And I expect that because, you know, it's wild.
- 1:01:39I think it was like last month. There's one particular thing
- 1:01:44that I share that I posted on this page like months ago,
- 1:01:48somehow ended up getting going like semi viral and it blew the,
- 1:01:53the, the followers up on this page of, you know, like 6000 new
- 1:01:57followers within a, you know, a couple of weeks and then, you
- 1:02:02know, four more 1000 followers after that.
- 1:02:05And it was like the Facebook platform just 12, almost 13,000
- 1:02:11new followers within a couple of weeks.
- 1:02:13Pages was getting like 3 million views on it.
- 1:02:16It was nuts. And now it's, it's levelled off.
- 1:02:20It's back to, you know, barely any interaction anymore because
- 1:02:24it's not stupid irrelevant content.
- 1:02:27It's, you know, I'm sticking to what I'm doing with with
- 1:02:31Heathenry related stuff and nobody's engaging with it.
- 1:02:38Nobody's interested, nobody cares.
- 1:02:41It's interesting you know 37,000 followers on Facebook, a 6 1/2
- 1:02:45thousand followers subscribers, whatever here on YouTube and
- 1:02:50there are 6 people watching this right now.
- 1:02:54I announce it, I plan it. Everybody knows I'm not.
- 1:02:59I feel like it's just a ghost banners.
- 1:03:00I don't know if that's even a real thing, but the platform
- 1:03:03must must hate me. So you know I do these things to
- 1:03:07to have interaction with you folks and and none of you folks
- 1:03:10want to show up. Well, not none of you, some of
- 1:03:13you. Thanks Michael, thanks John.
- 1:03:16He said I definitely will wanted to pop in.
- 1:03:19I feel I love you Bubba. Love you too man.
- 1:03:21And thank you for everything you do.
- 1:03:22It's good to see you here. Don't mind my my little rant
- 1:03:26right there. Don't mind my, you know, grumpy
- 1:03:28old old man man rant about social media and algorithms and
- 1:03:36all that BS is what it is, you know, and we've been going now
- 1:03:42live for over an hour. So for, for it to be what it is,
- 1:03:48it's, you know, we've got some interaction.
- 1:03:52We've got some people here. Michael's been sticking it out
- 1:03:54like a trooper. John showed up, said, hey, had
- 1:03:57David Klan pop in. We had fun times at Ridgemont
- 1:04:03High. Another trucker out there
- 1:04:05keeping it, keeping things rolling on the road, listening
- 1:04:07to the rambling. So that's pretty cool.
- 1:04:12Appreciate all of you. Well, OK, Michael always showing
- 1:04:16up clutch with the with the topics with the subject.
- 1:04:18So he says on a rambling subject.
- 1:04:20Not sure if I'll try plant medicine again.
- 1:04:24Bad first experience. Well, I mean, I've, I've talked
- 1:04:32enough about plant medicine and with not just, you know, myself,
- 1:04:36but with others, you know, we've had, we've had some
- 1:04:41conversations and the Ridgemont High trucker drivers still here.
- 1:04:45Well, hey, hey, good to see you there.
- 1:04:47Thanks for checking. But yeah, as far as plant
- 1:04:50medicine goes, you know, the, the, I get it, like when you
- 1:04:52have a bad trip or you have a bad experience that can really,
- 1:04:58you know, turn you off from trying it again.
- 1:05:07So, but you know, that again, it usually goes back to what was,
- 1:05:11what was happening in the moment, usually the moments
- 1:05:15leading up to the consumption of the plant medicine that caused
- 1:05:21it to be a bad experience, you know, because I'll tell you, you
- 1:05:26know, I've had, I've had wonderful experiences with plant
- 1:05:30medicine, but part of that wonder, you know, part of the
- 1:05:35the wonderment of those experience have been terrifying.
- 1:05:39I wouldn't say that they were bad experiences.
- 1:05:42I would say that they were experiences that left me with
- 1:05:46very, very strong lessons. You know, I went into the
- 1:05:53experience with the right, with the right purpose, with the
- 1:05:56right intention, but there were things that had to be revealed
- 1:06:00that the medicine did help me confront and they were
- 1:06:03terrifying, you know, So that's, that's sometimes that's, you
- 1:06:08know, that's part of it. Yeah.
- 1:06:10It depends on what plant we're talking about.
- 1:06:12No experience should be considered bad.
- 1:06:15It's always something to learn from.
- 1:06:16Thank you for saying that. There are fun times at Ridgemont
- 1:06:19High, the trucker. Thank you for saying that.
- 1:06:21It's almost exactly what I just said it, you know, I wouldn't
- 1:06:23call what I had is a bad experience, but it was
- 1:06:27definitely something to learn. And it terrified me.
- 1:06:28I've been scared out of my boots, you know, on, on, on
- 1:06:33certain things. Not paranoid, but I mean, what,
- 1:06:37what what the lessons that the medicine were teaching me were
- 1:06:41harsh lessons. Yeah.
- 1:06:43So just, they just got to figure out what the plant was trying to
- 1:06:45tell you about your inner self. Yeah.
- 1:06:48There's, you know, you're in a state of, of heightened
- 1:06:52consciousness, some say altered consciousness, but again,
- 1:06:58depending on the plant. And, you know, a lot of times
- 1:07:03when we talk about things like this, we're talking about
- 1:07:05fungus, we're talking about psilocybin or we're talking
- 1:07:08about, you know, dimethyltryptyline, you know,
- 1:07:11DMT or LSD or these other psychoactive, hallucinogenic
- 1:07:15things. Alaska, you know, ibacaine,
- 1:07:20ibacaine's becoming a thing now. Notice they've seen a lot of
- 1:07:22talk around that. I believe there's a, a lab or
- 1:07:25something in Texas that is working on, I don't know, either
- 1:07:33manufacturing it or, or producing it or something 'cause
- 1:07:35it's, it's the Iboga plant that ibogaine is, is, is from, You
- 1:07:41can't get it here. It's, it's, it's African, it's
- 1:07:45native to Africa. And up to this point you can't,
- 1:07:47you can't get it here. What's up?
- 1:07:51Ryan Williams, he says keep doing what you're keep doing
- 1:07:56what your continent is very international and insightful.
- 1:07:58My wife and I are watching you live stream together tonight.
- 1:08:01Thank you for doing what you do. Well, thank you, Ryan.
- 1:08:05You say international that you know, I know I've got a few
- 1:08:07people that watch or that that catch this stuff from like
- 1:08:11Europe and the UK. Just curious if you're willing
- 1:08:14to to say where, where are you watching from tonight?
- 1:08:16And first of all, thank you very much for that.
- 1:08:19Appreciate you you commenting and I'm glad that you're
- 1:08:22enjoying the the live stream or the OR the content, everything
- 1:08:25that I do. Let's see here fun times.
- 1:08:30I've been stuck on certain things to the point that I felt
- 1:08:32in a constant loop for hours. Once I calmed myself down and
- 1:08:35started to and started a self-assessment, then things
- 1:08:41made sense. Yeah, if you, I mean if you're
- 1:08:44talking again, you know, sometimes like I know, like I'm,
- 1:08:48I'm by no means a what do they call those?
- 1:08:56What's the term used for where you are going?
- 1:09:04Psychonaut, Psychonaut, maybe the psychonaut mentality.
- 1:09:08I'm not like I'm not at the type of person that's, you know,
- 1:09:12micro dosing mushrooms everyday and, you know, going on, you
- 1:09:16know, week long ayahuasca retreats twice a year and, you
- 1:09:21know, drop an acid once a month on like I'm definitely not one
- 1:09:26of these, you know, types. I've done some pretty high
- 1:09:29dosages of psilocybin that have have taught me some, some very
- 1:09:34wild and and like I said before, kind of terrifying things, but
- 1:09:40it was all done in the context of it being as medicine.
- 1:09:43I don't, I don't call them drugs, you know, and, and, and
- 1:09:51that's just a personal thing for me.
- 1:09:52I, I don't look at them as a drug, 'cause I don't know, like
- 1:09:55when I say drug, maybe it's just me, but that word has negative
- 1:10:04connotations. It's bad, it's bad for you.
- 1:10:08You know, now I know that that's not technically true 'cause, you
- 1:10:13know, if you want to look at coffee, you know, it's a
- 1:10:18stimulant. Can you get addicted to
- 1:10:20caffeine? Sure.
- 1:10:21The caffeine is, is a drug, alcohol is a drug, nicotine is a
- 1:10:26drug. Nicotine, you know, the
- 1:10:27addictive thing found in cigarettes or whatever, you
- 1:10:30know, but is, is drinking alcohol, you know, bad for you?
- 1:10:37Yeah, I mean, I think in any, any in great context, you know,
- 1:10:40if you're doing too much of something, it can be bad for
- 1:10:42you. So, you know, moderation is key,
- 1:10:44but I don't look at things like mushrooms and, and, and
- 1:10:50ayahuasca and, and the other plants as plants are medicine.
- 1:10:53They've been used by different cultures for, for literally
- 1:10:58thousands upon thousands of years.
- 1:10:59They knew what the plants did. They learned what the plants
- 1:11:04could do from a medicinal perspective for your spirit, you
- 1:11:09know, for your, for your, for your soul, for your, for your
- 1:11:11inner self. So that's what I refer to them
- 1:11:15as. That's just me, you know, so I
- 1:11:20don't know. Fun times says that.
- 1:11:23Yeah. They're they're they're tools,
- 1:11:25right. Healing tools.
- 1:11:28I like that. Healing tools, you know,
- 1:11:30medicine, same thing. They also say that drugs are
- 1:11:34bad. OK.
- 1:11:35Drugs are bad. And plants that were put here
- 1:11:38for us to be able to enlighten and heal ourselves with, that's
- 1:11:40another story. Yeah.
- 1:11:42Most of the time, you know, things that are manufactured in
- 1:11:45a lab, I don't mess with now, you know, that's not to say that
- 1:11:50if I'm, I'm having a, you know, a terrible pain, you know, that
- 1:11:55that's, you know, a headache or something really bad.
- 1:11:57You know, I mean, I'll try to go through most anything without
- 1:12:00synthetic drugs. You know, I even don't, you
- 1:12:03know, I, I do if I have to, but you know, I don't even like to
- 1:12:06really take a lot of, you know, like ibuprofen and advils or
- 1:12:11aspirins or, you know, things like that.
- 1:12:13I'd rather find a natural solution, you know, if, or just
- 1:12:20rest, you know, and, and, and you know, I'm, I'm not, I'm, I'm
- 1:12:25fortunate, I guess, that at my age, I'm not having to be on a
- 1:12:28long list of, of synthetic drugs.
- 1:12:32You know, I'm, I'm relatively healthy enough that I don't need
- 1:12:38to be on, you know, medication for my blood pressure or my
- 1:12:42cholesterol or my blood sugar or any other sort of thing, you
- 1:12:49know, whether it be physical or mental.
- 1:12:53You guess I'm blessed. They're fortunate in that way.
- 1:12:54You know, this is no dig to anybody that is or, or, or has
- 1:12:57to be. Trust me, it's not.
- 1:13:01But I do. I see what the, what the, what
- 1:13:03the Pharmaceutical industry is doing to people and it's not
- 1:13:07helping people. It does not help people to be
- 1:13:11prescribed 1 drug that could quote UN quote, fix something,
- 1:13:17then it ruins something else in your body that you then have to
- 1:13:20be prescribed another drug for. And then you're in this endless
- 1:13:24loop of, of drugs until you know, you're like a Pez
- 1:13:26dispenser knocking back pills all day long.
- 1:13:30And it, and it's, it's ruining people, man.
- 1:13:32It's, it's, it's shortening our lifespan.
- 1:13:33It's, it's, it's reducing our quality of life.
- 1:13:37This is trap. This is true, this is fact.
- 1:13:38Why do you think, why do you think we have people that are
- 1:13:40that are so depressed that nowadays, you know, addiction is
- 1:13:45that an all time high Depression is that an all time high?
- 1:13:47The world is off is, is crazy. There's a lot of bad things
- 1:13:52happening in the world around us.
- 1:13:55But you know, I was listening to some you're talking about like
- 1:13:59things in the world or whatever. You know, Ozzy Osbourne died
- 1:14:02today, you know, 76 years old. You know, man, when I was, I
- 1:14:06grew up listening to Ozzy man. And my parents did too.
- 1:14:09You know, they're the ones that my dad was the one that turned
- 1:14:11me on to, to Oz. And, you know, I was, I was, I
- 1:14:18was reading the, the lyrics to one of the songs that I guess it
- 1:14:25became, you know, a Sabbath, a Black Sabbath song.
- 1:14:30But it was originally a song that was that when he was in
- 1:14:34Earth, and it's called Wicked World.
- 1:14:38This song came out in 1969 or 1970 I think it was when lyrics
- 1:14:44says that the world today is such a wicked thing.
- 1:14:47Fighting going on between the human race.
- 1:14:51People got to work just to earn their bread while people just
- 1:14:55across the sea are counting the dead.
- 1:14:59And I go, I sent this to a buddy of mine who, you know, he's
- 1:15:02another Sabbath fan. I said, man, not much changed,
- 1:15:04has it since 1970 or 1969? Not much has changed.
- 1:15:09It's almost like those lyrics are written about today.
- 1:15:11So the world's been a, you know, been a, been a, been a terrible
- 1:15:14place. A lot of bad things have
- 1:15:15happened for a long time. This is nothing new.
- 1:15:19We're just more, we're just more, it's, it's more in our
- 1:15:22faces now because of things like social media and, and everybody
- 1:15:26with a phone has a voice now and they think that they can, you
- 1:15:28know, you know, their opinions matter and blah, blah, blah.
- 1:15:35All's I'm saying is that, you know, the, the, the sicknesses
- 1:15:38that, that people are facing. It's not, you know, it's not
- 1:15:40because the world is in such a terrible place.
- 1:15:42It's because the things that are in place to try and control
- 1:15:45people are not helping them. These drugs are not helping
- 1:15:48people. They're not building them up.
- 1:15:50They're tearing them down. They're tearing down their
- 1:15:52ability to deal with these challenges with these things,
- 1:15:55with these trials that that life throws at you, You know, Oh, I'm
- 1:15:59having a hard time. I just pop a pill.
- 1:16:04It's dangerous slope to go down. Yeah.
- 1:16:08Michael Thacker says. Yeah, on the record.
- 1:16:10It was mushrooms. Not sure if I had an allergic
- 1:16:12reaction. Heart rate went crazy the whole
- 1:16:14time. Well, that is a that is one of
- 1:16:17the things that happens when you consume psilocybin.
- 1:16:24And if you are see this. And This is why it's so
- 1:16:27important to treat them as, as medicine because not all
- 1:16:30medicine is for everybody, you know what I mean?
- 1:16:34At least not in certain dosages. You know, I don't know how much
- 1:16:37you took, but you know, if, if you have a, a condition, a heart
- 1:16:42condition, you know, if you have naturally high blood pressure,
- 1:16:45you know, whatever man, if, if, if you pop a few grams of
- 1:16:48mushrooms, you might be in for a rough time because your heart
- 1:16:52rate's going to go up. I mean, I don't have, I have,
- 1:16:56you know, a good cardiovascular health.
- 1:16:58I don't have any pre-existing heart conditions that I know
- 1:17:03that when I've been rolling on, you know, a good dose of that
- 1:17:07medicine that I have been feeling it.
- 1:17:12Now I know what's been going on. So it's not, you know, it
- 1:17:14doesn't freak me out. But even marijuana does that too
- 1:17:17for some people, you know, people that I know.
- 1:17:20I know a guy that one time he's like, I hadn't smoked in like 15
- 1:17:26years or something like that. He hadn't smoked since high
- 1:17:27school and he was in his 30s. We, we, you know, he took two
- 1:17:31hits off of a little bowl or whatever.
- 1:17:34And next thing you know, he's like, he's freaking out.
- 1:17:35He's like, my heart's ripped me out of my chest and I'm like,
- 1:17:38dude, calm down, man. Just calm down.
- 1:17:41It, it'll be OK. Stop, stop thinking about it and
- 1:17:44stop, you know, stop letting it get to you.
- 1:17:46It'll be OK. But with the mushrooms, it's a,
- 1:17:49it's a very different story because your, your mind is your
- 1:17:52mind, your spirit like it, it's, it takes over your, your
- 1:17:56function out there. There was a study and I forget
- 1:17:57who did it or, or where it was, but there was a study.
- 1:17:59It's like your, your basic motor skills, like the very things
- 1:18:02that you're, that you rely on every day to solve problems, to
- 1:18:07figure things out. When your brain is subjected to
- 1:18:10the psilocybin, it shuts down that part of the brain shuts
- 1:18:13down the part that part of your that, that that part of your
- 1:18:16computer goes offline. The mushrooms are are doing what
- 1:18:20they're supposed to be doing. And it can be, again, it can be
- 1:18:22terrifying if you're not ready, if you don't know, if you're not
- 1:18:24prepared, if it's, you know, foreign to you.
- 1:18:28Hello. Becky Earnest says truth.
- 1:18:30Not sure what which truth was you're referring to, but thank
- 1:18:34you for commenting. Good to see you there.
- 1:18:37So it's so. Yeah.
- 1:18:38It's just, you know, not saying that what you had was was a
- 1:18:42inherently bad experience. I don't understand that it could
- 1:18:45be bad for you. Yeah, dude, 7 or 8g.
- 1:18:49Come on now. Yes, now, now you're speaking my
- 1:18:51language. My very first time consuming
- 1:18:55that medicine was was it was the penis envy strain and it was 6g
- 1:19:02like in one night, which for the first timer, you know, that's
- 1:19:07like, you know, literally jump in the deep end and you sink or
- 1:19:09swim. So if that tells you anything,
- 1:19:16and then I've, since then, I've done probably upwards of seven
- 1:19:18or 8G at least once or twice. Yeah.
- 1:19:23Not sure how much it took. The cousin gave you the same
- 1:19:25amount. And that is again, another
- 1:19:28indicator of, of just a word of caution, you know, if I can, if
- 1:19:32you don't mind me saying so is, is, is, you know, it's it, it
- 1:19:36should be very carefully done, controlled environment, you
- 1:19:40know, trusted people, pure intention.
- 1:19:44If it's just like here, take this and knock it back and let's
- 1:19:48go. I mean, that's, that's, that's
- 1:19:50not what I would, I would not want to consume it in that
- 1:19:53context. I would not want to be, I
- 1:19:55approach it with some piety. I, I, you know, many cultures,
- 1:20:00or at least, I don't know, say many and, and be talking out of
- 1:20:03turn. But you know, at least in the I
- 1:20:05think it's the Toltec Amazonian cultures, you know, they're
- 1:20:09they're shamans refer to mushrooms as as.
- 1:20:15The flesh of the gods, that's what the, the translation
- 1:20:19English is flesh of the gods, you know, So it's, it's it's
- 1:20:23looked at as and it's approached with piety, with, with
- 1:20:27sacredness, with, with, with, with respect.
- 1:20:33Oh, not all medicines for everyone.
- 1:20:34Yes, Becky. Yeah, sorry about that.
- 1:20:36And I was talking about a bunch of different things and catching
- 1:20:38up on the comments. So thank you for clarifying.
- 1:20:44You like what? Who is that?
- 1:20:47Oh, fun with fun times. Like, yeah, the freshies.
- 1:20:51I mean, I I do the, you know, dried out, but fresh.
- 1:20:55You know what I mean? Like grown that that season or
- 1:20:58whatever. Make honey with them.
- 1:21:02Yeah, you can do, you know, you can consume them in different
- 1:21:05ways. Obviously there's some people
- 1:21:07don't like the taste of them when they're freshers or newly
- 1:21:11dried out. They they have a very distinct
- 1:21:15taste that, you know, not, not a lot of people like I actually
- 1:21:19kind of like the taste and the texture, you know, especially if
- 1:21:22you're, if you're a texture type person.
- 1:21:24So infusing them in a tea, making honey out of them,
- 1:21:29putting them in a sandwich on a, you know, whatever.
- 1:21:34But again, it's, it's, those are, those are less, I think
- 1:21:38the, the things to be necessarily concerned about or
- 1:21:43worried about, if you want to put it that way.
- 1:21:45More so is the how it's being administered, how it's being
- 1:21:50approached, how it's being treated.
- 1:21:52You know, it's a again, I don't want to speak for, for all
- 1:22:02people and, and on on behalf of everyone, but my, my, my, my
- 1:22:10take on it all is, is they, it is medicine.
- 1:22:12It is, it is the food of the gods.
- 1:22:15You know, it is the flesh of the gods.
- 1:22:18And as such, they should be handled appropriately.
- 1:22:24They should be approached with the degree of, of sanctity, of
- 1:22:28piety, of, of respect, you know, for what they are.
- 1:22:34And going into it with that state of mind will, I think
- 1:22:39prepare you for a better experience.
- 1:22:41And then going into the experience with a, with a mind,
- 1:22:47with intention. You know, this isn't like, oh,
- 1:22:50it's just a, a quiet Friday night.
- 1:22:51Like I don't have to go to work tomorrow.
- 1:22:53Let me know, you know, drop, you know, 6 or 7 grams of of of
- 1:22:59mushrooms, you know, not like that not to me at least.
- 1:23:08But anyways, folks, I think that'll just about do it.
- 1:23:11I know it's getting to be a little bit late and it's a
- 1:23:13weeknight and people got stuff they got to do.
- 1:23:15So this has been a fun stream. This has been a fun interaction
- 1:23:20with some of you. So I got some new faces showing
- 1:23:22up in the in the chat and some familiar ones, which is always
- 1:23:25nice to to see familiar faces, familiar names pop up on the
- 1:23:28screen. And you know, thank you again to
- 1:23:31the the spear carrier, whoever you are, if you see this, watch
- 1:23:36this, listen to this later, whatever.
- 1:23:39For those of you that are new and you haven't noticed, these
- 1:23:42are monthly. So I usually do them, you know,
- 1:23:44around on the on a Monday, usually on a Monday night, but
- 1:23:48sometimes it's it's different, but I try to plan them a month
- 1:23:51in advance. So now that we got July's out of
- 1:23:53the way, give me about a week or so and I'll have August
- 1:23:55scheduled. So just take a look on my

- 1:24:47Yeah, I do. I hope the spirit carrier.

- 1:25:00Michael Thacker says that I hope that the spirit carrier finds
