- 1:00Speaker 4: morning from the Raisin Caine Studio. Ohh seven o'clock snuck
- 1:06Speaker 4: up on me there. I didn't hear Taylor. Taylor usually
- 1:09Speaker 4: does a little break sometimes.
- 1:11Speaker 5: I like just hit the open.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Well, welcome in Tuesday, Tuesday morning here.
- 1:17Speaker 5: And uh, you're like casually taking your headphones off. The
- 1:21Speaker 5: opens playing and you're like casually taking your.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Head my headphones on until Taylor starts talking bad.
- 1:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't give you the signal.
- 1:29Speaker 4: That's all right. Well we're here, and uh wow, it's
- 1:33Speaker 4: freezing this morning. Yeah, thirty two degrees. What happened?
- 1:37Speaker 5: Oh no, because it was warm this weekend.
- 1:39Speaker 4: I know it was very warm this weekend. I was actually, uh,
- 1:43Speaker 4: I think I told you yesterday. I came back in
- 1:45Speaker 4: from vacation Friday and it was like eighty something degrees
- 1:48Speaker 4: and I just came back from Colorado the slopes from
- 1:51Speaker 4: skiing where it was very cold, and yeah, do they
- 1:55Speaker 4: do that ser this morning? Server. But I think there's
- 1:58Speaker 4: a lot of like, yeah, you can drive over Shaka bra. Yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 4: I think there's there's some carryover. Yeah, certainly, especially the
- 2:06Speaker 4: people that live in Colorado. There's certainly that vibe. Yeah,
- 2:10Speaker 4: of like hanging loose shaka super chill. Oh yeah, super chill,
- 2:14Speaker 4: just one with the earth. I just want to be
- 2:16Speaker 4: on the mountain. I'll come back though. I came back
- 2:19Speaker 4: and it was like eighty something. I was like, oh, well,
- 2:21Speaker 4: it's started. It's already late February. Springs basically started to
- 2:26Speaker 4: film and I licked in my backyard as we talked.
- 2:28Speaker 4: We talked about the weeds. Yesterday it started growing, zaleas
- 2:32Speaker 4: were starting to pop a little bit. I don't know
- 2:34Speaker 4: how the azaleas feel to it. This morning, we'll see. Yeah, Taylor,
- 2:39Speaker 4: do you know what an azalea is? Yeah, it's the
- 2:41Speaker 4: big bunch with the pink flowers. Yeah, you got exposed
- 2:43Speaker 4: a little bit yesterday when you're lawn care knowledge.
- 2:48Speaker 6: I mean, just because I don't participate those of me
- 2:52Speaker 6: and I don't know what they are. I don't know
- 2:55Speaker 6: types of grass because I don't care. As long as
- 2:56Speaker 6: my grass looks good, that's all that matters.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Right, I don't know. I think our listeners are probably
- 3:02Speaker 4: a little disappointed.
- 3:03Speaker 6: Yesterday, probably not the first time they've been disappointed.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Mat But that was kind of the one thing you
- 3:09Speaker 4: had though, right, Yeah, that was it? Uh huh, that
- 3:12Speaker 4: was it? Well, how y'all doing well? Vibe check this morning?
- 3:17Speaker 4: Are we doing? Jake's not here. Nobody hears Jake. We
- 3:19Speaker 4: see cute little Caine sitting across the table front me
- 3:23Speaker 4: with her microphone on. Probably won't say anything this morning.
- 3:25Speaker 5: She's adorable.
- 3:26Speaker 4: She's adorable. She was sitting in this chair this morning.
- 3:29Speaker 4: I don't know. We'll give you all that update every
- 3:32Speaker 4: every morning where she is in the studio when we
- 3:35Speaker 4: come in, she looks.
- 3:37Speaker 5: Like she's ready to say something.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Though she is ready to say. She's shy. She is
- 3:41Speaker 4: shy that she's here.
- 3:44Speaker 5: When she speaks, we listen, that's how like. She's very decisive.
- 3:51Speaker 4: But yeah, Jake is at the Combine this week doing
- 3:55Speaker 4: a little NFL radio for the Combine.
- 3:57Speaker 5: So but he will be big shot, Yeah.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Have big shot, all right? Pal working for the shield
- 4:04Speaker 4: right now this week in Indy, I think of mine. So, uh,
- 4:08Speaker 4: he will be joining the show for a decent amount,
- 4:11Speaker 4: be a little bit unlike the super Bowl week where
- 4:14Speaker 4: schedules just did not align. He's gonna be big boy
- 4:17Speaker 4: to us. He big boy to us a little bit.
- 4:18Speaker 4: He big boy us. He didn't want to wake up
- 4:20Speaker 4: at five in the morning.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Is there a time difference over there or no.
- 4:24Speaker 4: I believe they're at Central time. I believe they're at
- 4:26Speaker 4: our ahead of us right now. Okay, Now I didn't
- 4:30Speaker 4: realize that Indianapolis, but Jake told us yesterday that they
- 4:32Speaker 4: don't observe daylight savings, so half the half to the
- 4:37Speaker 4: central basically. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I knew that about.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Is it Arizona that does that as well? I think?
- 4:46Speaker 4: I think so one of the one of these states,
- 4:47Speaker 4: one of those states.
- 4:48Speaker 5: Around I didn't know people were out here doing that. Yeah,
- 4:52Speaker 5: how do you live in one of those places? I
- 4:54Speaker 5: hate daylight savings or whatever, the whatever, the one where
- 4:59Speaker 5: it gets darker earlier is I don't like that one.
- 5:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I actually think that's the normal time if I'm correct.
- 5:06Speaker 5: So I don't like normal time.
- 5:07Speaker 4: You don't like normal I do like daylight. Hmmm, we're
- 5:14Speaker 4: gonna look it up. Get we can get the official
- 5:16Speaker 4: I think there's some I think I I think they
- 5:19Speaker 4: wanted to save some daylight.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 5:26Speaker 6: It all started with like, oh, well this is where
- 5:29Speaker 6: you do your farming and all that they wanted to
- 5:31Speaker 6: next year. But Matt, can I interest you in a
- 5:34Speaker 6: really cool invention that I'm not sure the daylight savings
- 5:36Speaker 6: people know of. They're called headlights. They were made on
- 5:39Speaker 6: most tractors in heavy machinery now, so it's kind of
- 5:42Speaker 6: pointless to see. I see that has is always how
- 5:46Speaker 6: I understood it. It was dayla savings was for more
- 5:49Speaker 6: daylight for farmers to do that. But then I heard
- 5:54Speaker 6: somebody debunk that semi recently. That's what I said, we
- 5:57Speaker 6: got to look it up. That's what I've always heard too.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Well anyway, Indianapolis said, nah, we don't believe in you
- 6:06Speaker 4: daylight savings.
- 6:07Speaker 5: I respect it.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I kind of respect it too. Anyway, Jo I.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Just looked it up. It says it was actually during
- 6:17Speaker 5: World War One to reduce electricity demand for lighting, and
- 6:22Speaker 5: the practice was standardized in nineteen sixty six to extend
- 6:26Speaker 5: daylight for leisure and industry. So it was originally for
- 6:30Speaker 5: saving fuel for the war effort, but I like sitting
- 6:36Speaker 5: for leisure.
- 6:37Speaker 4: And industry almost been taking for so long they.
- 6:40Speaker 6: Have I guess this part of industry, we made it
- 6:43Speaker 6: three World War One, that's behind us.
- 6:47Speaker 4: There is no more energy constraints.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Well, but they also like standardized it fifty years later.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 5: World one is like nineteen three eighteen, nineteen seventeen. I
- 7:00Speaker 5: know for sure because the movie is fire Love that movie.
- 7:03Speaker 4: That might be my favorite war movie. Really, it might be.
- 7:06Speaker 5: There's so many good ones. I mean, that one's a
- 7:08Speaker 5: good one, but I just like that it's all one shot.
- 7:13Speaker 4: That's mm hmmm. I don't even think I've ever thought
- 7:16Speaker 4: about what my favorite war movie is, because they're my
- 7:18Speaker 4: favorite type of movies. Heartbreak Ridge, Heartbreak Ridge.
- 7:22Speaker 5: Well, I guess that's not really camp. Yeah.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Wait, which one's Heartbreak Ridge.
- 7:30Speaker 6: Marines puts the platoon together, they got a Grenada at
- 7:33Speaker 6: the end of the movie, which Grenada was a war
- 7:35Speaker 6: that lasted like ten days.
- 7:37Speaker 4: I gotta say, I gotta tell you, I don't think
- 7:39Speaker 4: I've ever seen that one.
- 7:39Speaker 5: It's pretty good. It's more of a boot camp one
- 7:42Speaker 5: than anything gotta go to boot camp, yeah, or camp
- 7:47Speaker 5: or whatever.
- 7:48Speaker 4: And obviously here in the Foxhole, we love the troops,
- 7:51Speaker 4: So yeah, we love a war movie. Do you love
- 7:54Speaker 4: the true should we? Man? I've never been a part
- 7:57Speaker 4: of the show, and y'all did like a tearless, But
- 8:00Speaker 4: I mean it feels like movie seems like.
- 8:04Speaker 5: Like I don't think we've done a tearless since I
- 8:07Speaker 5: first joined this show that summer.
- 8:11Speaker 6: Yeah, that's right. It was because the last year and
- 8:15Speaker 6: a half Tea Bob was here, we did not interesting.
- 8:18Speaker 4: We just get burned out or what.
- 8:20Speaker 5: I don't think anybody cared enough to like argue over
- 8:22Speaker 5: where to put what ta.
- 8:24Speaker 6: Bum got really upset one time that nobody had seen
- 8:27Speaker 6: the show room when we were doing hbos.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Like he was over it. After that, I felt like
- 8:40Speaker 4: a war movie would be a good one though, because
- 8:42Speaker 4: there was a ton So my my my son's just
- 8:50Speaker 4: perpetuating the stereotype. Recently and we started watching as a
- 8:52Speaker 4: family the Marvel movies, which are it's a fantastic watch
- 8:57Speaker 4: with children, especially my children's age, because they've never liked
- 9:01Speaker 4: really like section seen action movie and like a semi
- 9:05Speaker 4: you know, don't appropriate, but I felt like we're they're
- 9:09Speaker 4: at a moment and in their life where it's okay
- 9:12Speaker 4: to watch with with the parents.
- 9:13Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure, Marvel's not bad and it's and it's.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Been really cool. But like we are. I think we're
- 9:18Speaker 4: at the first Avengers movie now. And I was talking
- 9:22Speaker 4: to him yesterday. I was like, hey, what's your favorite
- 9:23Speaker 4: Marvel movie? And you know, Tusay said like Thor Hayman
- 9:28Speaker 4: Way said Hulk, and Huckson was like Captain America the
- 9:33Speaker 4: first one. Yeah, I'm like, okay. Why He's like because
- 9:36Speaker 4: it's a war movie. And I was like, how, Like
- 9:40Speaker 4: he had never really studied a war, You've never seen
- 9:43Speaker 4: a war anything? And he was like, yeah, I like
- 9:45Speaker 4: the fighting in the war.
- 9:46Speaker 5: And I was like, yepoy.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Doing boy, I like the explosions. Yeah, I like the explosions.
- 9:55Speaker 4: So that dude kick the trip wire. I'm all about it.
- 10:00Speaker 5: You saw him get super swool after getting a serum.
- 10:03Speaker 5: I'm trying to do that.
- 10:05Speaker 4: They got that stuff now, they do. The technology is
- 10:09Speaker 4: out there, just.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Like super Jack. Next time he comes to the studio, we're.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Get this Gamma stuff. That's the stuff they gave him.
- 10:19Speaker 5: Yeah, did you show him the picture Chris Stanfield. I sent, y'all.
- 10:24Speaker 4: No, dang, I took it just oh no I did. Yeah,

- 11:10Speaker 5: tournament the Live like Lou Fan Choice, Community Impact Player,
- 11:17Speaker 5: all right, but he didn't even play in the tournament.
- 11:18Speaker 5: That's how much people love Chris Stanfield.
- 11:21Speaker 4: Shadows stands out in the community.
- 11:23Speaker 5: Yeah, just out here.

- 11:29Speaker 4: fan favorite, you got it.
- 11:30Speaker 6: Didn't play love Stanfield, but community impacts a little bit different.
- 11:33Speaker 5: I think he won like a community thing last season too.
- 11:38Speaker 5: He won the inaugurur Old Tony Gwinn Trophy last season
- 11:43Speaker 5: for his work with the Miracle League. So yeah, just
- 11:47Speaker 5: a great.

- 12:00Speaker 4: That should be an OTB Award.
- 12:01Speaker 5: We give the laugh Love Award. I love it. We should.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think even Murphy Salmon, Joey, you've ever
- 12:09Speaker 4: thought about that?
- 12:10Speaker 5: Who should we get it? Give it to you for football?
- 12:13Speaker 4: Mm to think about that one weeks? Yeah, it weeks
- 12:17Speaker 4: gets to live laugh love. I mean, he's always really
- 12:19Speaker 4: good vibes he has. You don't know if you want
- 12:24Speaker 4: to give it to your.
- 12:27Speaker 5: Head middle linebacker shotguns of football for celebration.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Let's get to know the punter got damn.
- 12:35Speaker 5: Number one player in Maryland?
- 12:37Speaker 4: O what damn buren might have got it? Give off
- 12:40Speaker 4: some good vibes. Yeah, mm hmm. So it's what is it? It's
- 12:47Speaker 4: February twenty fourth. Yeah, we in the midst of fellowship, baseball,
- 12:54Speaker 4: basketball season, gymnastics.
- 12:57Speaker 5: That's almost a yeah, basketball no gymnastics starting, but basketball
- 13:03Speaker 5: almost over.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Let's see, I'm trying to go over all the sporty
- 13:07Speaker 4: things happening right now.
- 13:09Speaker 5: I think you nailed it.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Softball softball, combine starts, combine starts, Olympics. Just just send it, okay,
- 13:19Speaker 4: I'm okay.
- 13:20Speaker 5: Was that last? That was it?
- 13:22Speaker 4: Yeah? Sunday was the closing ceremonies.
- 13:26Speaker 5: And that last less time than I thought I did.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Yeah, it's two weeks. It opens up on just a
- 13:32Speaker 4: little over two weeks, because I think the opening ceremonies
- 13:34Speaker 4: were on that Friday and then closing on Sunday. The
- 13:39Speaker 4: US Olympic hockey team is on an epic run right
- 13:44Speaker 4: now of celebrations. They have been in nightclubs. They've been
- 13:50Speaker 4: crowdsurfing it. They've been they crowdsurfing last night at a nightclub. Now,
- 13:55Speaker 4: it didn't No, that's what like I was. I saw
- 13:59Speaker 4: a ton of vid is coming out. It was a
- 14:02Speaker 4: Ka Chuck Brothers. It was so like hockey players are
- 14:07Speaker 4: known for when they celebrate, they go hard for a
- 14:09Speaker 4: long period of time. It isn't just like one night
- 14:12Speaker 4: we're staying up, you know, drinking from the Stanley Cup
- 14:15Speaker 4: or anything. Okay, they're in Florida, So I saw them.
- 14:19Speaker 4: One of the one of the guys was singing Toby
- 14:22Speaker 4: Keith courtesy of the Red, White and Blue Dude.
- 14:25Speaker 6: They were blawing that thing in the locker room after
- 14:27Speaker 6: the game, like this is this might be my favorite
- 14:29Speaker 6: team ever.
- 14:29Speaker 4: Yeah, and then they were they all had American flags on.
- 14:32Speaker 4: This is in the middle of a night club and
- 14:33Speaker 4: like the center stage. Uh. And then they were all
- 14:36Speaker 4: crowdsurfing to freebird. Yes, so they are living one hell
- 14:42Speaker 4: of an American dream.
- 14:43Speaker 5: They really are.
- 14:44Speaker 4: On a heck of a celebration tour and probably one
- 14:47Speaker 4: of the greatest sporting events. Like I've been reading for
- 14:52Speaker 4: like just seeing posts and articles from you know, the
- 14:56Speaker 4: the top athletes of every sport posting about that game.
- 15:00Speaker 4: And this was even into yesterday saying like, looking back
- 15:03Speaker 4: on the hockey game, it might be the greatest sporting
- 15:06Speaker 4: event I've ever watched with my eyes. And this is
- 15:09Speaker 4: coming from like big time athletes. Now as fans, the
- 15:13Speaker 4: best sporting event that you've ever watched your life, it's
- 15:15Speaker 4: probably your favorite team winning a championship. Like yel, she
- 15:18Speaker 4: has a lot of those moments. But I just coming
- 15:20Speaker 4: from athletes that probably don't have that fandom, but they
- 15:24Speaker 4: all we can all agree that we have the fantom
- 15:26Speaker 4: for America stars and stripes, and so like they're saying
- 15:30Speaker 4: the greatest, one of the greatest sporting events they'd ever watched,
- 15:32Speaker 4: and it was I've got people that I've talked to
- 15:35Speaker 4: yesterday they were like, you know what, hockey's pretty cool game.
- 15:39Speaker 4: I'm yes, first time you've ever been like walked into
- 15:41Speaker 4: a hockey game. Probably it's pretty awesome. I told my
- 15:45Speaker 4: dad Sunday. He called me, He's like, did you watch that?
- 15:47Speaker 4: I was like that.
- 15:48Speaker 6: The NHL playoffs very similar. The NHL playoffs are great.
- 15:52Speaker 6: Did you see Jack Hughes that came out yesterday? ESPN
- 15:56Speaker 6: put it out. I'll trying to find a picture of it.
- 15:59Speaker 6: When he was at the twenty nineteen like about to
- 16:01Speaker 6: get drafted, they said write a letter to your future
- 16:04Speaker 6: self and it was all about, hey, your older brother
- 16:07Speaker 6: helped you get here, and hopefully we get to play
- 16:09Speaker 6: together someday. And he's like, that'd be wild. Maybe we
- 16:11Speaker 6: want a gold medal together or something. And he wrote
- 16:14Speaker 6: that in twenty nineteen. It was a letter to his
- 16:16Speaker 6: future self and I put it out.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Yes, Yeah, it was awesome. There you go. Power of
- 16:19Speaker 4: the tongue, that's right, power your words, words are powerful.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Tell my children that every day.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 5: I so we discovered this last year, I was like,
- 16:28Speaker 5: I need LSU to run rule, or I need a
- 16:30Speaker 5: run rule when LSU played a midweek game versus Nichols
- 16:34Speaker 5: because it was a late first pitch and I had
- 16:37Speaker 5: to be here the next morning. So I was like,
- 16:39Speaker 5: I need a run rule so that we can so
- 16:42Speaker 5: I can get home early. I need a run roll
- 16:44Speaker 5: Nichols run rolled LSU. The season I learned my lesson,
- 16:49Speaker 5: I said, specify, I need LSU to run roll Nichols.
- 16:52Speaker 5: And guess what they did it?
- 16:53Speaker 4: Yeah, they got They got one this week she or
- 16:55Speaker 4: last week she specified. Nice, you gotta put the you
- 16:57Speaker 4: gotta put those words out in the universe. Yes, how
- 17:00Speaker 4: are you supposed to universe supposed to give it back to
- 17:02Speaker 4: if they didn't know exactly it is?
- 17:05Speaker 6: So is your brothers made you what you are on
- 17:07Speaker 6: and off the ice. I hope they'll be able to
- 17:09Speaker 6: say you did the same for them and had great
- 17:11Speaker 6: NHL careers. Maybe we all represented the United States at
- 17:14Speaker 6: the Olympics and maybe even want a gold medal together.
- 17:17Speaker 4: What an honor that would be. He wrote that to
- 17:19Speaker 4: himself in twenty nineteen. That's cool. Good handwriting too, that's
- 17:26Speaker 4: very good handwriting. It especially for a guy. Guys don't
- 17:29Speaker 4: have great handwriting.
- 17:30Speaker 7: I do.
- 17:30Speaker 5: I do get impressed whenever I see a guy with
- 17:32Speaker 5: good handwriting.
- 17:34Speaker 4: My god, all right, no caps. I cand of write
- 17:39Speaker 4: a combat in all caps. In cursive, I.
- 17:42Speaker 5: Kind of do a com I don't do all caps,
- 17:44Speaker 5: but I kind of do.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Like some people speak like spanglish a little bit. Yeah,
- 17:47Speaker 4: that's kind of my writing. I'm like half all caps
- 17:50Speaker 4: in print and half in cursive. It's weird.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Had to give up the spanglish.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Speaking of during the show, I'm going to have to
- 18:04Speaker 4: bring up with you what the hell is going on
- 18:07Speaker 4: in Mexico so much. I just we don't have to

- 21:41Speaker 4: We talked about war movies first segment. In the first segment, yeah,
- 21:46Speaker 4: I also talked about we decided that we're going to
- 21:49Speaker 4: do an off the Bench and Live Laugh Loove Award
- 21:52Speaker 4: as well for different teams.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Okay, explain that one.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Well, currently Stanfield is getting the Live Leaf Love Award
- 22:03Speaker 4: for l s U Baseball. It's just somebody that emits
- 22:07Speaker 4: good feelings, niceness, good job in the community. You don't, well, all.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Right, how are you going to get his trophy at
- 22:15Speaker 3: hobby Lobby?
- 22:18Speaker 5: Yeah, they're like Marshalls in a frame.
- 22:23Speaker 4: Perkland's mm hmm. Max anista.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Wait, what is max Aista?
- 22:29Speaker 4: TJ Max?
- 22:31Speaker 3: Oh, okay, I didn't know Church. I didn't know what
- 22:34Speaker 3: Church shipped.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Up like that.
- 22:35Speaker 5: But if you go to TJ Max, you're a Maximista.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Yeah, whoa, I didn't know that either. It was on
- 22:42Speaker 4: a commercial. It's got to be true, though, Yeah, dumb dumbs. Hey,
- 22:48Speaker 4: how's anybody? How's anybudy?
- 22:50Speaker 3: Uh? Chili Chili.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I didn't get into like, uh gosh, like midnight thirty
- 22:56Speaker 2: by the time I got to my hotel room again
- 22:59Speaker 2: because they're Eastern time because they don't take daylight savings time,
- 23:03Speaker 2: so I got here late.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Uh.
- 23:06Speaker 3: It's pretty cold, no snow right now though.
- 23:09Speaker 2: But we get started today and we got some like
- 23:14Speaker 2: right off the top, we got Ben Johnson, we got
- 23:17Speaker 2: Dan Campbell, we got Howie Roseman, Shane Stik and Kevin Stefanski.
- 23:25Speaker 2: So like in the first like two hours of recording,
- 23:28Speaker 2: we're going to knock out a ton of stuff.
- 23:30Speaker 3: So I'm looking forward to Dan Campbell, though, Can you.
- 23:32Speaker 5: Let Ben Johnson know he's on my hot list?
- 23:36Speaker 3: I'll see what I can do. I'll see what I
- 23:38Speaker 3: can do.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Do you think you can take a shirt off?
- 23:46Speaker 5: Don't get.
- 23:48Speaker 2: I mean I would get more excited for Dan Campbell
- 23:50Speaker 2: if you'll know me at all.
- 23:53Speaker 4: So that's first two hours, So like when does the
- 23:55Speaker 4: show start? What is this? This after an inshow?
- 24:00Speaker 2: So we're gonna be reporting a ton today for the show.
- 24:03Speaker 2: A lot of it's gonna be live too. It's gonna
- 24:05Speaker 2: bet a little mixing match. So it's from three to
- 24:09Speaker 2: seven Eastern so two to six Central time. It'll be
- 24:12Speaker 2: on the NFL radio channel eighty eight. But I mean
- 24:16Speaker 2: that's what it is, like gms and coaches and you know,
- 24:19Speaker 2: you remember how it was like all the players are
- 24:21Speaker 2: like getting here, but they're in the hospital getting you know,
- 24:24Speaker 2: all the physicals, and they're in the registration process and
- 24:28Speaker 2: it's funny like you get here and you hurry up
- 24:30Speaker 2: and wait for all this stuff and they'll start meetings
- 24:33Speaker 2: but they don't even like do on the field stuff
- 24:35Speaker 2: for a.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Couple of days after they get here.
- 24:37Speaker 2: So today will be a lot of coaches, GMS, front
- 24:40Speaker 2: office execs, some of the colts owners stuff like that.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm let's see. I am seeing that on Tuesday.
- 24:51Speaker 4: So DBS tight ends wide receivers quarterbacks, wide receivers start
- 24:57Speaker 4: reporting in today and registering. That all sound about, right, tim, Yeah.
- 25:02Speaker 2: I don't think they but they don't work out until Thursday.
- 25:06Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, it's such man, it's such a long week.
- 25:09Speaker 4: We talked about this yesterday too. It's just like it's
- 25:12Speaker 4: a week of attrition and it's designed specifically that way too.
- 25:19Speaker 4: I don't even know if you would want to get
- 25:20Speaker 4: on the field like you. Certainly it stinks as a
- 25:22Speaker 4: player to not get on the field till like day
- 25:25Speaker 4: three of being there, especially after being exhausted, But like
- 25:28Speaker 4: you're so kind of excited once you get there and
- 25:31Speaker 4: so nervous you probably don't want to do it immediately either.
- 25:33Speaker 4: It's probably it's it is good to or if like
- 25:37Speaker 4: I could have like my wish when I was there,
- 25:39Speaker 4: it's like get there for like the night, like Monday night,
- 25:44Speaker 4: do some stuff Tuesday, then work out Wednesday. But now,
- 25:47Speaker 4: but no, you gotta wait till Thursday to work out.
- 25:51Speaker 4: I don't know. I think like there's so many nerves
- 25:53Speaker 4: going in. I don't think you immediately would want to
- 25:55Speaker 4: work out.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I would think the best case scenario is let's just
- 26:00Speaker 2: call it Monday.
- 26:01Speaker 3: So you get in Monday around four and the first day.
- 26:06Speaker 2: You go and you you know, you get there four
- 26:09Speaker 2: but the hospital is ready for you, and you do
- 26:11Speaker 2: all the physical stuff that day. That night, Tuesday you
- 26:15Speaker 2: go and you meet with every team that is interested
- 26:17Speaker 2: in you. And then Wednesday you hit the field running,
- 26:20Speaker 2: you go do your deal. Wednesday night you're back on
- 26:23Speaker 2: a bird going somewhere else. Like you're you're there for
- 26:27Speaker 2: basically two days, because you put two half days together
- 26:30Speaker 2: in a full day. That would make a lot of
- 26:32Speaker 2: sense to me. But like you said, like there's so
- 26:34Speaker 2: much of this that's like how much can we throw
- 26:37Speaker 2: at him and can he handle it?
- 26:39Speaker 4: Yep?
- 26:39Speaker 3: And so like that's part of it.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Like there's gonna be guys that are here, you know again,
- 26:44Speaker 2: like you said, they probably flew in last night and
- 26:46Speaker 2: they're not gonna work out until Thursday.
- 26:48Speaker 3: But that just it feels unnecessary. But I guess they've
- 26:52Speaker 3: been doing.
- 26:52Speaker 2: This for a long time and they feel like they
- 26:53Speaker 2: got to figure it out.
- 26:54Speaker 4: When you spend ten of your twenty awake hours per
- 26:57Speaker 4: day in a hospital, there's there's not that much time
- 27:00Speaker 4: to do that. That's what I would like to see
- 27:03Speaker 4: a little bit different. And now I know you got
- 27:04Speaker 4: to do your hospital business but they have one or
- 27:07Speaker 4: have a handful of NFL team doctors. Instead of every
- 27:11Speaker 4: team doctor getting your hands on you and ordering an MRI,
- 27:16Speaker 4: it's like have a set of NFL doctors that pretty
- 27:20Speaker 4: much give the report to everybody else. Now these doctors
- 27:23Speaker 4: can be like voted in by the other door whatever
- 27:26Speaker 4: that is. But when you're spending three days before you
- 27:30Speaker 4: work out, because of most of a lot of it,
- 27:33Speaker 4: the most time you spend is in the medical stuff,
- 27:35Speaker 4: like getting medical exams MRIs, that kind that like it
- 27:40Speaker 4: can be one less day if you just kind of
- 27:42Speaker 4: like do one overall medical view MRI of everything of
- 27:47Speaker 4: every single player, and then you give the rest of
- 27:49Speaker 4: the time to have more. What I think is the
- 27:52Speaker 4: important stuff is meetings with meetings with teams because like you,
- 27:58Speaker 4: I remember the speed dating room it was you got
- 28:01Speaker 4: I don't know, was it ten minutes five minutes with
- 28:04Speaker 4: every team every player?
- 28:06Speaker 3: Did I think it's I think it's I think it's
- 28:08Speaker 3: ten minutes.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Is it ten minutes?
- 28:10Speaker 3: I think it was.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Ten minutes in the speed dating and they're in the
- 28:13Speaker 2: train station. And then if you have what if you
- 28:16Speaker 2: had a formal meeting, Yeah, it was.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Like what like forty five longer than I.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Don't think it was forty five an hour, but I
- 28:24Speaker 4: didn't have as many of those. But if you think
- 28:26Speaker 4: about ten minutes the speed in that's a little over
- 28:28Speaker 4: five hours that you're sitting to the top. How many
- 28:32Speaker 4: hours did you spend in the hospital.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh, like twelve.
- 28:39Speaker 4: You spend more time.
- 28:40Speaker 3: I never missed a game at LSU, not one.
- 28:43Speaker 4: You spend more time in a hospital waiting room. That's
- 28:46Speaker 4: not even like seeing a doctor, just sitting there waiting,
- 28:48Speaker 4: either in the waiting room or in a tube, magnetic tube. Yeah,
- 28:53Speaker 4: then you do speaking with the teams, which is which
- 28:56Speaker 4: is a little wild.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, I see, you had a meniscus surgery
- 28:59Speaker 2: and high school. Even though you didn't miss any games
- 29:02Speaker 2: in college, we're still going to have you in this
- 29:04Speaker 2: tube for three hours.
- 29:05Speaker 3: We've got to get some good pictures of it. Yeah,
- 29:07Speaker 3: because of a niscus tear.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Yeah, and I was coming off of ac AC injury
- 29:14Speaker 4: on my right shoulder and which is feeling really good
- 29:17Speaker 4: going to the combine. But that's why I didn't play
- 29:19Speaker 4: in like the East West game was because it was
- 29:20Speaker 4: right after the National Championship game. I wanted to rest
- 29:22Speaker 4: it up for the combine, and I get there. I'm
- 29:25Speaker 4: feeling great. About day two, after thirty two team doctors
- 29:30Speaker 4: had been pressing on it and twisting and stretching and
- 29:35Speaker 4: pulling on my shoulder, I was like, my shoulder hurts
- 29:38Speaker 4: now that you've been doing all this stuff. But so
- 29:41Speaker 4: thank you for that right before I got to go
- 29:43Speaker 4: throw Yeah whatever, Oh well, what a fun time you
- 29:47Speaker 4: sit on it.
- 29:47Speaker 2: You sit on the table like Matt's talking about, and
- 29:50Speaker 2: every doctor of every team comes and just grabs whatever
- 29:55Speaker 2: injury you might have and pulls it and tugs it out.
- 29:59Speaker 2: It might give you an injury by the end of it,
- 30:01Speaker 2: like every one of them.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Like you sit on one table, doctor, there's there's thirty
- 30:06Speaker 4: two team doctors that come in and while you're on
- 30:08Speaker 4: this medical table, and they all have a job to do.
- 30:11Speaker 4: They're all getting paid. They don't want to be the
- 30:13Speaker 4: one that that screws up, so they all give you
- 30:16Speaker 4: the own separate evaluation. So you're on that. You're on that, uh,
- 30:20Speaker 4: you're on the doctor's table for like two hours. It's
- 30:22Speaker 4: fantastic anyway, what a fun time, What a great time
- 30:26Speaker 4: to be alive. Great memories, am all right.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, I love it. Glad, glad, glad. I'm
- 30:32Speaker 3: here to uh to cover it and not be a part.
- 30:35Speaker 4: Of it again. Yeah, we know, we know what you're
- 30:36Speaker 4: excited about. You're except about weigh ins. We'll get it.
- 30:41Speaker 3: I can't wait.
- 30:43Speaker 4: It's gonna be electric.
- 30:45Speaker 3: The beat market. Why do you think I'm here?
- 30:49Speaker 4: All right? Are you gonna stick around with us for
- 30:51Speaker 4: a little bit?
- 30:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll be here, all.
- 30:53Speaker 4: Right, fantastic. All right. I want to tell you about

- 32:34Speaker 4: Around.
- 32:36Speaker 5: I didn't want to know the girly. She wanted to get.
- 32:41Speaker 3: The all I think.
- 32:42Speaker 2: I thought the.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Next one place or yours kick some base behind.
- 32:52Speaker 5: You, Reckon, I'm not really from the back of her.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Ships to get out of this plankrobably.
- 33:04Speaker 4: I'm liking this a lot. Stupid. Oh yeah, I think
- 33:14Speaker 4: you might just bring this song back and bad. It's
- 33:16Speaker 4: just like heat carpool time. Right now, kids driving to
- 33:19Speaker 4: school probably hearing this for the first time.
- 33:22Speaker 5: No Beastie Boys for the kids. Well, I mean I
- 33:26Speaker 5: was doubt it listening to girls.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Yeah, well, like, I'm sure there's some teenage kids driving
- 33:32Speaker 4: to school right now.
- 33:34Speaker 3: What is it?
- 33:34Speaker 5: Child? Probably listening to Beastie Boys way too early?
- 33:37Speaker 3: What is this betie boys?
- 33:39Speaker 4: You mean what is this?
- 33:40Speaker 7: Right?
- 33:40Speaker 4: Well, I know what this is. I'm saying there are
- 33:43Speaker 4: people might be hearing this for the first time.
- 33:46Speaker 5: I just blew a teenage boys mind.
- 33:48Speaker 4: I got some fresh sixteen year olds driving to school
- 33:51Speaker 4: right now, blew his mind with his music tuning in.
- 33:56Speaker 4: It's off the bench. What's wrong? It's going on behind
- 34:00Speaker 4: the glass over there? Jake, let me get a well
- 34:04Speaker 4: technology check on you, right? Can you see us or
- 34:07Speaker 4: can we just see you?
- 34:08Speaker 3: He can just see the I can kind of see
- 34:11Speaker 3: like the studio.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, like the little the.
- 34:13Speaker 5: Little cameras pointing to the studio, gotcha the little down there.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Yeah, it feels like you know when you take a
- 34:21Speaker 3: picture and you like zoom all the way out.
- 34:23Speaker 4: Yeah, got it perfect?
- 34:25Speaker 3: Yeah, like a point live yeah yeah yeah.
- 34:31Speaker 4: All right, welcome back here off the bench. It was
- 34:34Speaker 4: a hell of an intro to this segment.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Great song.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Jack and Pastor joined us from the combine. I want
- 34:42Speaker 4: to talk a little bit about the LSU boys at
- 34:45Speaker 4: the combine. I'm kind of been reading some articles looking
- 34:50Speaker 4: at it. There's some people talking about nus Meyer, what
- 34:52Speaker 4: he's kind of has to prove, what he can gain
- 34:55Speaker 4: from this week. L s U really just with one consensus,
- 34:58Speaker 4: like first round in Monsieur Delaine and then kind of
- 35:03Speaker 4: the next two people up that they're saying day two
- 35:05Speaker 4: AJ Halsey and potentially Nussmeyer on day two. Of those
- 35:11Speaker 4: of those two guys, of any of the LSU guys,
- 35:13Speaker 4: really who is the who could potentially improve their stock
- 35:17Speaker 4: the most this week? And we talked to yesterday about
- 35:19Speaker 4: like you really go to the combine not to make
- 35:22Speaker 4: sure you don't hurt yourself. There's very little you can do.
- 35:26Speaker 4: But I do think Nussmeyer is still in that position
- 35:29Speaker 4: because of such a poor showing in twenty twenty five
- 35:33Speaker 4: season that anything he does well and can show that
- 35:37Speaker 4: he's above people talent wise or is going to help
- 35:41Speaker 4: him tremendously. So like of any of the guys been
- 35:44Speaker 4: specifically Nesmier to start with, like what what do you think?
- 35:47Speaker 4: What are you looking forward to seeing from the LSU guys?
- 35:51Speaker 2: Well, I think for Garrett, like Mobile was probably more
- 35:53Speaker 2: important than this is going to be. I he'll probably
- 35:58Speaker 2: throw and he'll maybe impress some people here and there,
- 36:02Speaker 2: But for him, like it was Mobile, like he had
- 36:05Speaker 2: to go out there and kind of show with a
- 36:07Speaker 2: week of practice that he be the guy that we
- 36:12Speaker 2: I've all seen him be when he was a junior
- 36:14Speaker 2: at LSU. So like this, for him, it's the meetings right,
- 36:18Speaker 2: and he'll blow that out of the water. Like he'll
- 36:20Speaker 2: go in there and he'll impress them once he gets
- 36:22Speaker 2: on the white board. So for him, I think the
- 36:25Speaker 2: hardest part is over. For other guys, like this is
- 36:27Speaker 2: a great opportunity for all the burners. You've got a
- 36:30Speaker 2: receiver with Aaron Anderson and Thomas and Chris Hilton, like
- 36:34Speaker 2: all those guys Berry on Brown, they're fast, like really fast,
- 36:38Speaker 2: and so they're going to come in here and they
- 36:39Speaker 2: can be impressive with their forty times. But if you
- 36:43Speaker 2: ask me, like which one can gain the most, I
- 36:45Speaker 2: think AJ Hawsey is probably that guy.
- 36:49Speaker 3: When you talk to NFL people, they love aj Hawsey.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Now like NFL draft guys that sit there and do
- 36:55Speaker 2: that all year long, you don't see his name as
- 36:59Speaker 2: much as some of the other safeties. But I think
- 37:02Speaker 2: NFL people value aj Halsey a little bit more.
- 37:05Speaker 4: I think I think I think football people probably like
- 37:08Speaker 4: football guys that have played before and evaluate not just
- 37:14Speaker 4: based on hand size and forty times. Are you just
- 37:19Speaker 4: turn it like he's a guy that I don't know
- 37:21Speaker 4: how you can change your opinion on him after the
- 37:24Speaker 4: last game of the season, But somebody's gonna change it.
- 37:27Speaker 4: He's going to drop in somebody's eyes. He's gonna like
- 37:29Speaker 4: whatever it is. But like that's the that's one of
- 37:31Speaker 4: the epitome of just turn on the tape, get that
- 37:34Speaker 4: cowboy remote in your hand and press rewind a bunch
- 37:37Speaker 4: of times on a bunch of plays like and you're
- 37:38Speaker 4: going to see a dude that can just flat out
- 37:41Speaker 4: don't overthink aj Halsey. I can play. He got to
- 37:43Speaker 4: play football.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm right there with you, and so I guess
- 37:47Speaker 2: they won'tant to get a time on him. I don't
- 37:50Speaker 2: think he has to be a Blazer by any means.
- 37:52Speaker 2: He's a bigger safety, but they just want to get
- 37:55Speaker 2: a verified time on him. And so I think like
- 37:57Speaker 2: this week for him, the testing is probably more important
- 37:59Speaker 2: than other guys coming out of L s U.
- 38:01Speaker 4: So you're right.
- 38:02Speaker 2: I mean the tape kind of shows what he can
- 38:04Speaker 2: be as a player. He's very physical safety. Too many
- 38:08Speaker 2: times he had to make.
- 38:09Speaker 3: The tackle, it felt like there for a couple of
- 38:12Speaker 3: games stretch, but he did. Right, he got to that
- 38:14Speaker 3: third level and he was always.
- 38:16Speaker 2: There and always would play a big hit in the
- 38:18Speaker 2: Vaderbilt game kind of comes to mind of unfortunately he
- 38:21Speaker 2: had to make a ton of tackles, but he did,
- 38:23Speaker 2: and he did so violently.
- 38:24Speaker 4: You know. Yeah, he don't definitely don't want him to no,
- 38:28Speaker 4: I mean, don't want.
- 38:28Speaker 2: To get to the third level that many times, but
- 38:30Speaker 2: he had to and look he did, so I think
- 38:33Speaker 2: I think he'll have a lot to gain here. I
- 38:35Speaker 2: mean again, like if he runs a good four to five,
- 38:39Speaker 2: he'll be okay, Like he didn't have to go out.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Here even a four to six. To me, He's not
- 38:44Speaker 4: going to be like Earl Thomas free safety where he
- 38:47Speaker 4: covers sideline to sideline. That's not That's not him, right,
- 38:50Speaker 4: He's going to be a guy that no that especially
- 38:53Speaker 4: with all the hybrid hybrid cover threes and cover one
- 38:56Speaker 4: combos that they that defense is run right now and
- 39:00Speaker 4: disguising and playing playing low safeties that are kind of
- 39:02Speaker 4: playing a hybrid linebacker. I mean it all kind of
- 39:05Speaker 4: started with like a Camp Chancellor types back and back
- 39:08Speaker 4: with the.
- 39:09Speaker 3: What do they call that now? That hybrid linebacker?
- 39:12Speaker 4: What do they call it now? Hybrid safety linebacker? Like
- 39:14Speaker 4: it's just you you play lower, you call it free
- 39:17Speaker 4: safety or strong safety, just playing in a different position.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Don't do that to me.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Kind of like a star a little bit.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Now he can be a star, but it's not a position. Pal.
- 39:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I know, I know.
- 39:32Speaker 2: I just want to see if you'd say it, Uh,
- 39:34Speaker 2: what about what about Harold Perkins? How about that guy?
- 39:38Speaker 2: You know, like we don't know what position he's going
- 39:40Speaker 2: to play in the NFL. We never really knew a
- 39:43Speaker 2: position year to year he was gonna play at LSU.
- 39:46Speaker 2: He obviously again we've we've explained he's not an edge player. Uh,
- 39:51Speaker 2: he can dabble in that from time to time. But uh,
- 39:55Speaker 2: you know, we talked to coaches that Jimbo Fisher, He's like, yeah,
- 39:59Speaker 2: he's per was great off the edge, but as soon
- 40:01Speaker 2: as he got there, we were checking run right at him,
- 40:03Speaker 2: right right, and so like that can't be where he
- 40:06Speaker 2: lives and.
- 40:07Speaker 3: Seeing off the ball linebacker? Does he play some nickel
- 40:12Speaker 3: sam in the NFL?
- 40:14Speaker 2: Is that position that's even valuable enough like in the
- 40:18Speaker 2: NFL right now, like compared to what it is in college.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Like, I don't know where he plays. I think he'll
- 40:23Speaker 3: probably test well, like I would assume he'll test well.
- 40:26Speaker 2: But for a guy that's played a lot of football
- 40:29Speaker 2: we've talked a lot about has been a star and
- 40:32Speaker 2: not the position, but an actual star at times in
- 40:34Speaker 2: his LSU career, Like where does he go? Like where
- 40:39Speaker 2: where is he going to play?
- 40:41Speaker 3: Uh?
- 40:41Speaker 2: You know how it is like there is going to
- 40:44Speaker 2: be a team that turns on his freshman tape and
- 40:46Speaker 2: falls in love with what he did there.
- 40:48Speaker 4: It's just like the Nutmeyer thing right that you've seen him,
- 40:51Speaker 4: Like you can't do it right? Right, So.
- 40:55Speaker 3: I don't know what position that guy plays in the NFL.
- 40:58Speaker 2: But I have to imagine somebody is going to fall
- 41:01Speaker 2: in love with the tape that's out there, the good tape,
- 41:03Speaker 2: and they're gonna take a shot at it.
- 41:05Speaker 4: Yeah dude, hey listen, don't be coming out here and
- 41:08Speaker 4: talking about star position. Like if you're doing NFL radio
- 41:11Speaker 4: this week, you can't say the star position because that's
- 41:13Speaker 4: not a thing in the NFL. Okay, it's just it's
- 41:17Speaker 4: just dumb college football lingo.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna be chopping it up with all these coaches,
- 41:22Speaker 2: So tell me about your star position.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, they're gonna be like, Okay, well you're an idiot,
- 41:30Speaker 4: Like we know you play. You're gonna be like, yeah, hey,
- 41:33Speaker 4: Ben Johnson, tell me about your star Parsis. He's gonna
- 41:35Speaker 4: be looking to the guy like his his person, like like, hey,
- 41:39Speaker 4: what's this guy's deal? Who is this guy? Is a
- 41:41Speaker 4: college guy?
- 41:42Speaker 3: I really like.
- 41:44Speaker 2: I wanted to do it with a guy with a
- 41:46Speaker 2: defensive background. Jeff Haffley, who just got hired by the Dolphins.
- 41:52Speaker 2: J's a defense coordinator.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Hey, Joe, Joe, implement the star there in Green Bay.
- 41:57Speaker 4: What were the some of the dumb positions that Alabama
- 41:59Speaker 4: has listed for their linebackers like the wolf wolf uh god,
- 42:07Speaker 4: was more. What do you call a wolf?
- 42:10Speaker 3: Was definitely one.
- 42:11Speaker 4: Though, Hey, Jim Schwartz, what do you call the linebacker?
- 42:15Speaker 4: That's kind of like a place he can also cover,
- 42:18Speaker 4: but he can also play linebacker. What do you call that?
- 42:20Speaker 4: I'll be like, what do you mean? It's a sam,
- 42:23Speaker 4: it's the will, it's a linebacker, you idiot.
- 42:27Speaker 3: I'm gonna get one of them to say start today.
- 42:30Speaker 4: You probably will. You probably will because you're gonna pay him.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, these NFL coaches need my local radio money.
- 42:38Speaker 4: Yeah, no doubt. All right, we're gonna go to break
- 42:42Speaker 4: you guys. During the breakout, just think about that star
- 42:44Speaker 4: position and how dub it is. And we're gonna come
- 42:46Speaker 4: back and keep talking with Jake from the common and
- 42:48Speaker 4: talking all things sports, and the next hour we're gonna
