- 0:02Speaker 1: Oh, this is going to be a good day or
- 0:04Speaker 1: elimination games today. We could have four teams bounced, or
- 0:07Speaker 1: we could keep moving on with a couple of those series.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Scott Braun, Eric Kratz, Trevor May will talk more about
- 0:12Speaker 1: a postgame show that we're going to do, but right
- 0:15Speaker 1: now we are at pregame show because there's four games
- 0:17Speaker 1: starting at three o'clock East Coast time as the first one,
- 0:20Speaker 1: but we'll focus on a night matchup as we hit
- 0:23Speaker 1: the Inside Scoop. The Inside Scoop is presented by Lidd's
- 0:33Speaker 1: primetime FT senior insider Ken Rosenthal with us right now.
- 0:36Speaker 1: As the Yankees Blue Jays series continues. Ken, I'm sure
- 0:39Speaker 1: they'll ask you about Game two and Judge and all that.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I actually want to game three. I actually want to
- 0:44Speaker 1: start with Game four pushing forward, How do you think
- 0:48Speaker 1: the script is set for the Blue Jays? What has
- 0:50Speaker 1: to happen for them to pull off what many would
- 0:53Speaker 1: look at as a pretty big upset in this game
- 0:56Speaker 1: for the way the pitchings matched.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Up, I'm not exactly sure how the pitching is going
- 1:01Speaker 2: to unfold. They're starting Lewis Varland, which is a bit
- 1:04Speaker 2: of a surprise, I would say, considering he allowed the
- 1:06Speaker 2: game tying home run to Judge three run shot and
- 1:09Speaker 2: the go ahead home run last night by Jash Chisholm Junior.
- 1:12Speaker 2: But I'm sure it's a matter of get right back
- 1:16Speaker 2: on the horse and let's go.
- 1:17Speaker 3: It's gonna be one inning.
- 1:18Speaker 2: It's gonna be the first inning most likely, obviously one inning,
- 1:21Speaker 2: most likely, and from there I'm not exactly sure. And
- 1:26Speaker 2: we talked about this a little bit on the broadcast
- 1:27Speaker 2: last night. Treya Savage will be on two days rest,
- 1:30Speaker 2: coming off seventy eight pitches on the road in a
- 1:32Speaker 2: hostile environment. Kevin Gossman, we don't know exactly if he's
- 1:37Speaker 2: in play. He would be on three days rest, and
- 1:40Speaker 2: clearly he is someone who has done this before. He's
- 1:42Speaker 2: more experienced than you. Savage is Which of those two,
- 1:47Speaker 2: if either of them will come into play or both,
- 1:49Speaker 2: we don't know exactly yet. John Schneider said last night,
- 1:53Speaker 2: as you might expect that everyone is in play, and
- 1:56Speaker 2: I would expect that to be the case. I'm sure
- 1:59Speaker 2: they have a plan, and I'm sure it involved their
- 2:01Speaker 2: lefties and probably Eric Lauer for a good chunk of
- 2:04Speaker 2: this game. But we'll see how this plan unfolds, because
- 2:07Speaker 2: of course what happens on the field is going to
- 2:09Speaker 2: dictate in part how Schneider runs his pitching staff.
- 2:14Speaker 4: You mentioned Louis Arland is starting tonight. Louis Arland's reaction
- 2:18Speaker 4: to the pitch that you threw that when you talked
- 2:22Speaker 4: to him that he threw to Aaron Judge, who ended
- 2:25Speaker 4: up hitting the home run.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Well, actually I wasn't the one to talk to him,
- 2:28Speaker 2: but he did give this quote out to a number
- 2:31Speaker 2: of writers and he said it was a really good
- 2:33Speaker 2: pitch that Judge made look really bad. And that's a
- 2:37Speaker 2: great assessment of it, because the pitch was well inside,
- 2:41Speaker 2: as Sarah Lang's reported last night, it was one point
- 2:45Speaker 2: two feet inside from the center of home plate. That's
- 2:49Speaker 2: a good distance and it was astonishing to me when
- 2:53Speaker 2: I looked at the game day and saw where the
- 2:56Speaker 2: pitch was that far in that Judge was able to
- 2:59Speaker 2: get his hand in and he was able to keep
- 3:02Speaker 2: the ball fair hit it off the foul pole. And
- 3:04Speaker 2: when I went into the Yankees clubhouse afterward, my intent
- 3:07Speaker 2: was to ask as many players as I could just
- 3:10Speaker 2: their impressions of that. And Paul Goldschmidt one of the
- 3:13Speaker 2: more understated guys in the game. He says, it's the
- 3:15Speaker 2: best swing I've ever seen, definitely in person, maybe of
- 3:19Speaker 2: all time. When Paul Goldschmid says that, that to me
- 3:22Speaker 2: means something and the other players were equally astonished. I
- 3:25Speaker 2: asked Stanton, I said, hey, could other players do that?
- 3:29Speaker 2: And he goes, show me video, show me video of
- 3:31Speaker 2: someone else doing that. That's how impressed his own teammates
- 3:35Speaker 2: were by that particular swing, in that particular moment, and
- 3:40Speaker 2: that whole thing that went down right then.
- 3:44Speaker 5: You it was one of the more impressive homers I've
- 3:47Speaker 5: ever seen. I mean, the guy swings a two tone
- 3:49Speaker 5: bat and it hit the handle side and he still
- 3:53Speaker 5: hit it out. There's not many guys who could do
- 3:55Speaker 5: that big home run, but I think it was even
- 3:58Speaker 5: bigger because of the very palpable momentum swing that it represented.
- 4:02Speaker 5: With the game being tied at that point, the guy
- 4:05Speaker 5: with all the homers doing it finally in the playoffs,
- 4:09Speaker 5: and from your perspective, that momentum shift obviously went through
- 4:14Speaker 5: for through the rest of the game. What is it
- 4:17Speaker 5: going to take offensively for Toronto to pull that back
- 4:20Speaker 5: like they had in the first two games. What are
- 4:22Speaker 5: you looking for to have that tone set early in
- 4:25Speaker 5: this game?
- 4:26Speaker 3: For Trevor, it's a good question.
- 4:28Speaker 2: And Cam Schlitzler is someone who is coming off one
- 4:31Speaker 2: of the best starts we've ever seen in the postseason
- 4:33Speaker 2: or any other time, the eight inning performance against the
- 4:36Speaker 2: Red Sox. But you go back to September fifth, that
- 4:40Speaker 2: was his second start against the Blue Jays of his career.
- 4:43Speaker 2: This tonight will be the third time he is facing
- 4:45Speaker 2: the Blue Jays, and it's the first time he's ever
- 4:47Speaker 2: seen a team three different times.
- 4:49Speaker 3: That's where we are.
- 4:51Speaker 2: And in that game against the Blue Jays, they fouled
- 4:53Speaker 2: off twenty four pitches. He threw sixty six pitches and
- 4:57Speaker 2: ending in two thirds. So I don't know that he's
- 5:00Speaker 2: going to be the same guy tonight that we saw
- 5:03Speaker 2: in September. He's going to have to make some adjustments
- 5:06Speaker 2: and he won't be the same guy he was in
- 5:08Speaker 2: Boston when he overwhelmed or against Boston when he overwhelmed
- 5:11Speaker 2: them with his fastball. So they obviously had some degree
- 5:16Speaker 2: of success against Schlitler. They knocked him out of the
- 5:18Speaker 2: game after one and two thirds innings, and the cat
- 5:21Speaker 2: and mouse game resumes tonight, right, how is he going
- 5:24Speaker 2: to adjust to them?
- 5:25Speaker 3: How will they adjust to him?
- 5:27Speaker 2: They have been an offensive juggernaut in this series until
- 5:31Speaker 2: the latter innings last night, when the Yankees bullpen shut
- 5:34Speaker 2: them down pretty well. So that, to me is the
- 5:38Speaker 2: interesting part, how the Jays kind of rebound. All teams
- 5:42Speaker 2: experienced tough losses during the season, the Jays, the Yankees,
- 5:45Speaker 2: every team. They're accustomed to doing this. It's not like
- 5:49Speaker 2: they're devastated psychologically. But at the same time, they had
- 5:53Speaker 2: a six to one lead and a potential sweep in
- 5:56Speaker 2: their hands and it didn't happen.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Ken more questions for you about Toronto's pitching Number one.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Do you think there was any consideration for going with
- 6:06Speaker 1: Gossman here on short rest or there's just too much
- 6:09Speaker 1: history with this not working, because you do have your
- 6:11Speaker 1: Savage for Game five on full rest if you wanted
- 6:14Speaker 1: to go that way. And part two. And I was
- 6:16Speaker 1: on Toronto Radio this morning and they asked, and I
- 6:18Speaker 1: was trying to ask them back, like what is the
- 6:20Speaker 1: status of Chris Bassett and Schurzer? I think was healthy.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Do you think that they could have used one of
- 6:25Speaker 1: those guys even if they didn't feel like the stuff
- 6:27Speaker 1: looked as crisp as it normally does for Shurzer at
- 6:29Speaker 1: the end of the year. And I don't know what
- 6:31Speaker 1: Bassett situation was, but now you're looking like a bullpen
- 6:33Speaker 1: game here.
- 6:36Speaker 2: As for Gossman, yes, they could use him, but they're
- 6:39Speaker 2: not going to use him as a starter.
- 6:40Speaker 3: And Scott, you're absolutely right.
- 6:42Speaker 2: The history of starters on three days rest is abysmal
- 6:45Speaker 2: in the postseason, and I was surprised the Cubs did
- 6:47Speaker 2: it with Boyd. I know they had limited options obviously,
- 6:50Speaker 2: so I don't expect Gossman to pitch in that kind
- 6:53Speaker 2: of role if he pitches at all. And he is
- 6:57Speaker 2: a guy also who has said he prefers extra rest,
- 7:00Speaker 2: and he would be on extra rest in Game five
- 7:02Speaker 2: if necessary, so maybe he's Savage is the choice tonight,
- 7:05Speaker 2: but again Gossman is the more experienced pitcher now. As
- 7:08Speaker 2: for the decision on Scherzer and Bassett, Scherzier hasn't pitched
- 7:13Speaker 2: all that well, so they felt that they preferred four
- 7:17Speaker 2: lefties in the bullpen in this scenario with the Yankees
- 7:20Speaker 2: left handed hitters to give John Schneider more weapons to
- 7:23Speaker 2: play with.
- 7:24Speaker 3: As these games proceeded.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Chris Bassett was coming off an injury, not fully built
- 7:29Speaker 2: up yet, so he wasn't as much of a consideration.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I would expect both will be considerations if the.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Blue Jays advanced.
- 7:35Speaker 2: But the key thing was they wanted the four lefties
- 7:38Speaker 2: in the pen, and tonight, as they play this matchup
- 7:42Speaker 2: game with the Yankees, which is what this is going
- 7:44Speaker 2: to be, it could work to their advantage.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Can the bullpen stop this lineup? They have scored nine
- 7:54Speaker 4: I think it's fourteen runs against the bullpen and they
- 7:56Speaker 4: have a bullpen game if they do stop this lineup.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Is this bullpen built to continue to push the Blue
- 8:06Speaker 4: Jays on the rest of the way, because you can't
- 8:09Speaker 4: continue in a seven game series the way they've been going,
- 8:12Speaker 4: because they're just gonna get depleted.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Absolutely right, Eric, And we didn't see Sir Anthony Domingez
- 8:20Speaker 2: last night. We didn't see Jeff Hoffman, we didn't see
- 8:22Speaker 2: some of their other relievers who we will see tonight.
- 8:26Speaker 2: It's going to be interesting because the bullpen was a
- 8:29Speaker 2: question coming into it, not so much because of the.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Setup types like Varlin and Domingas. They're pretty happy with
- 8:35Speaker 3: those guys.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Hoffman has been a guy who allowed I believe, the
- 8:39Speaker 2: most home runs by an American League reliever fifteen home
- 8:42Speaker 2: runs this season, So he is a concern. But as
- 8:46Speaker 2: for holding the Yankees down tonight, I don't know. It's
- 8:49Speaker 2: not going to be easy.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Obviously.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yankee Stadium is a much different environment clearly than Rogers Center,
- 8:56Speaker 2: and it's going to be a challenge for the Blue Jays.
- 8:59Speaker 2: They're not in an ideal situation here against Cam Schlitzler,
- 9:02Speaker 2: for sure, But at the same time, trying to predict
- 9:06Speaker 2: these games, trying to predict what might happen is a
- 9:09Speaker 2: fool's errand and I'm not even going to attempt it.
- 9:13Speaker 1: It is full of decision making. Ken, We'll be watching
- 9:16Speaker 1: have a great broadcast tonight, Thanks for swinging by.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Thanks Scott.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So that's Ken rosenthal f t Senior insider. Of course

- 10:35Speaker 1: information at Fox O n E dot com. That's the
- 10:40Speaker 1: spot there. It is, Trevor, you're the only one that
- 10:43Speaker 1: hasn't seen that one yet. Do you like what we
- 10:45Speaker 1: did there with the graphic?
- 10:47Speaker 5: Love it? Love it? Anytime I can look at Tom
- 10:50Speaker 5: I'm I'm happy.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Yes, Tom looks back. Jaw wow, chiseled. Chiseled Tom on
- 10:58Speaker 1: Sundays pier Zink on many weekdays on games and Saturdays
- 11:04Speaker 1: throughout the regular season. Hey, Trevor, we talked a lot
- 11:07Speaker 1: yesterday about Quinn Priester and jameson ty On and the
- 11:11Speaker 1: next matchup for the Cubs and Brewers Game three. Thoughts
- 11:13Speaker 1: on this series so far? And do the Cubs have
- 11:16Speaker 1: a chance.
- 11:18Speaker 5: Well, I was high on the Cubs. I thought this
- 11:19Speaker 5: would go down to the wire. They're still hopeful that happening.
- 11:23Speaker 5: And I think the Cubs have come out swinging right.
- 11:26Speaker 5: They set the tone early in the game. It's just
- 11:28Speaker 5: you got to get those shutdown innings. The pitcher has
- 11:31Speaker 5: to go out and throw a zero so that you
- 11:32Speaker 5: can hold that momentum. And got to give credit to
- 11:35Speaker 5: the Brewers. They're doing exactly what they've been doing all year.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Like this is they are as advertised. First game they won,
- 11:41Speaker 5: they gave up three home runs and they hit only
- 11:43Speaker 5: two extra base hits and they won nine to three.
- 11:45Speaker 5: So that's like the way they play the game, and
- 11:47Speaker 5: they've they've been playing it this series so far. So
- 11:51Speaker 5: it's gonna be interesting to see how if they were
- 11:52Speaker 5: able to whittle down tie On. He threw their last
- 11:55Speaker 5: elimination game, got the job done against the Padres. So
- 11:58Speaker 5: looking for that magic again. But you know, the Cubs
- 12:01Speaker 5: can they can swing it, and they can put up
- 12:02Speaker 5: crooked numbers, but they need to put up more than
- 12:06Speaker 5: the just the one inning. They're able to do that
- 12:08Speaker 5: a couple of times. They maybe scrape the game across here.
- 12:12Speaker 5: I mean, you gotta go to one before you can
- 12:14Speaker 5: go three two, you know what I mean?
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe some wind on their side, some dangers, use
- 12:19Speaker 1: them dangers to try and win.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Take when is it coming in? Blowing in, blowing in
- 12:26Speaker 4: sixteen miles per hour.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Thanks mostly hitting postseason stuff, but breaks give us an
- 12:32Speaker 1: opportunity to mix in news, Dana Brown and Joe Spota
- 12:36Speaker 1: GM and manager are returning for twenty twenty six. A
- 12:39Speaker 1: source confirming to Chandler Romy said there had been growing
- 12:42Speaker 1: uncertainty within the organization for the last week about their futures.
- 12:46Speaker 1: We Taggert was first on it. Hmmm, Kratz, that's weird.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Joe Spota and Dana Brown. What the Asters missed the
- 12:53Speaker 1: playoffs one time?
- 12:55Speaker 4: I mean they just barely missed the playoffs. They were
- 12:58Speaker 4: in it if the Mariner and cal Raley didn't get
- 13:01Speaker 4: absolutely scorching hot and they didn't have Hater, they essentially
- 13:06Speaker 4: didn't have your Don Alvarez, and the ownership made them
- 13:10Speaker 4: get rid of Kyle Tucker Alex Bregman, and then they
- 13:14Speaker 4: lost ISA parades like there was a lot of big
- 13:17Speaker 4: boy injuries and they came really close. I was really
- 13:20Speaker 4: confused that that mctiger said that though it was like,
- 13:24Speaker 4: oh yeah, you know, there was growing concerns something would change.
- 13:28Speaker 4: What like was somebody to come and poach those dudes?
- 13:30Speaker 4: Somebody wants to win.
- 13:34Speaker 5: It's weird, Trevor, I mean it's weird. But also at
- 13:39Speaker 5: the same time, like like five different teams fire sailed
- 13:42Speaker 5: all all teams that didn't perform as well as they
- 13:45Speaker 5: would have this last year, a lot of managers and
- 13:47Speaker 5: jams were going. So you know, when you see a
- 13:50Speaker 5: bunch of other organizations, like I don't know, like a
- 13:52Speaker 5: sixth of the organizations in the league doing it, a
- 13:55Speaker 5: lot of which that were supposed to be contenders and
- 13:57Speaker 5: fell out of the contention right at the end, similar
- 13:59Speaker 5: to the Astros. I mean, it's it's understandable that the
- 14:02Speaker 5: people maybe in question, we're starting to question that. I mean,
- 14:05Speaker 5: that makes sense to me, but they're good. Keep what
- 14:08Speaker 5: you got, hey.
- 14:11Speaker 1: A reminder to anyone that is making plans for spring
- 14:14Speaker 1: training to maybe make it revolve around the Playmaker's Classic
- 14:18Speaker 1: fourth edition. It's Tuesday, February eighteenth at Warehouse two fifteen
- 14:23Speaker 1: in downtown Phoenix. So if you want to go see
- 14:25Speaker 1: your favorite team out in Arizona or just any spring
- 14:29Speaker 1: training action, great access out there. Many of the parks
- 14:32Speaker 1: are very close by, then maybe you make it start
- 14:35Speaker 1: with the Playmaker's Classic Crafts. You've been give us the goods.
- 14:40Speaker 4: This is the time of year to go out to Arizona.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Usually I tell people to go to Florida so you
- 14:43Speaker 4: can go beach game, beach game. But Arizona you go
- 14:47Speaker 4: at the beginning. Most of the complexes. Everybody's using the
- 14:50Speaker 4: minor league fields and the big league fields. This is
- 14:52Speaker 4: right at the start of spring training, so the players
- 14:55Speaker 4: are more affeable, they're more like, they're not pissed off
- 14:57Speaker 4: at spring training. And then you can be at the
- 15:00Speaker 4: games and you can get your autographs, you can hang
- 15:03Speaker 4: out there and everything, and then playing it around coming
- 15:05Speaker 4: to the Playmakers Classic, because that's where the players always
- 15:09Speaker 4: say this about this event we went two years ago.
- 15:12Speaker 4: It is one You're like you're rubbing elbows with current
- 15:16Speaker 4: big leaguers, former stars, future prospects that are out there,
- 15:20Speaker 4: and it's not a like it's not like an event
- 15:23Speaker 4: where the players feel like they're forced to go. They
- 15:27Speaker 4: feel like they're like just hanging out. They're playing games.
- 15:30Speaker 4: I think they had like a ball game. They had
- 15:32Speaker 4: a few card games that you could play. They had
- 15:34Speaker 4: music like it's it is a great time. Like if
- 15:39Speaker 4: big lead players weren't there, it would still be an
- 15:41Speaker 4: awesome party. But the fact that the big lead players
- 15:43Speaker 4: are there and you just get to hang out with them,
- 15:46Speaker 4: like it's the real environment. You get to see how
- 15:48Speaker 4: they're real people, and you can.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Check out where to get tickets, the whole deal. More
- 15:53Speaker 1: information by either smacking the q QR code on the
- 15:57Speaker 1: screen or going to Players Trust or Okay, we have
- 16:01Speaker 1: one minute. I just need one word answers from both
- 16:04Speaker 1: of you. I'm trying to mix in some questions. On YouTube,
- 16:06Speaker 1: Jena Boss said which parking lot is best for tailgating?
- 16:10Speaker 1: Out of the four games today.
- 16:22Speaker 4: None of them. They're all terrible. They're all terrible for tailgating.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Maybe La, That's what I was gonna say.
- 16:31Speaker 3: La.
- 16:31Speaker 5: La is the best one.
- 16:32Speaker 4: I mean right, But you're can be sitting traffic to
- 16:35Speaker 4: go tailgate, So I guess it has to be La.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Everybody else is like a parking garage.
- 16:40Speaker 5: Detroit parking garage. There's yeah parking in the Bronx. Are
- 16:43Speaker 5: you kidding?
- 16:44Speaker 1: No tailgate at a bar in the Bronx.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Charge?
- 16:54Speaker 1: Okay, let's charge first off, Trevor, I need your take
- 16:57Speaker 1: on Louis Varland against Aaron Judge. It changes the series.
- 17:01Speaker 1: It's judges big pop moment.
- 17:03Speaker 5: Right.
- 17:03Speaker 1: He had been smacking singles left and right. What happened here?
- 17:09Speaker 5: He just got them like he just got got I
- 17:13Speaker 5: mean one hundred miles an hour foot in off the plate. Judge.
- 17:18Speaker 5: The slow mo on the umpires cam, right, we have
- 17:22Speaker 5: that in the playoffs a lot, and which is awesome
- 17:23Speaker 5: to see. They have a point of contact. Judge uses
- 17:26Speaker 5: the two tone bat with the dark barrel and the
- 17:29Speaker 5: lighter wood on the handle, and he hit this thing
- 17:32Speaker 5: on the light side of the bat like he hit
- 17:35Speaker 5: off the handle. There's nobody in the league. I think
- 17:38Speaker 5: that it is. Besides, maybe there's maybe a handful of
- 17:40Speaker 5: guys that are strong enough hit the ball there and
- 17:43Speaker 5: keep it fair and get it over the fence. Like
- 17:47Speaker 5: he just does stuff like that and it's really frustrating
- 17:50Speaker 5: and you don't want to do it in that situation.
- 17:51Speaker 5: And yeah it was of course it was a misspot,
- 17:54Speaker 5: but that's the spot that you're supposed to be safe
- 17:55Speaker 5: and so you know, and then it to be one hundred.
- 17:59Speaker 5: I mean, we know JD just can hit fastballs, but
- 18:01Speaker 5: he also swings and miss his plenty at him as well.
- 18:03Speaker 5: So it's just one of those things where he did
- 18:06Speaker 5: it right at the right moment and you just got
- 18:10Speaker 5: you just got beat on a pitch that you're not
- 18:12Speaker 5: going to get beat on very often. You may not
- 18:14Speaker 5: get beat on that pitch again in your career.
- 18:17Speaker 4: I mean, not at one hundred. I Actually, we can
- 18:20Speaker 4: pull his hands in. That's incredible. It's incredible. So many
- 18:25Speaker 4: things are incredible. A lot of guys can get to
- 18:27Speaker 4: this ball and it might go over the over The
- 18:31Speaker 4: visiting team dugout into the upper deck and everyone's like, whoah,
- 18:35Speaker 4: that's amazing for him to be able to keep this
- 18:38Speaker 4: fair and hit the fair pole is amazing. And I'm
- 18:41Speaker 4: looking at his true media plot chart that dots every
- 18:46Speaker 4: one of his home runs, and obviously it's a freaking
- 18:49Speaker 4: cavalcade of home runs. But in that exact same area,
- 18:53Speaker 4: he has seven other home runs this year in that
- 18:57Speaker 4: exact same area. Eighty six mile an hour slider, a
- 19:01Speaker 4: ninety seven min hour fastball from Kevin Graveman. That was
- 19:06Speaker 4: actually no, I'm sorry, that was two thousand and that
- 19:08Speaker 4: was twenty two.
- 19:09Speaker 5: That he hit that.
- 19:10Speaker 1: That's Kendall.
- 19:10Speaker 4: But yes, what I say, Kevin, Kevin Kendall Graveman, Kevin's
- 19:16Speaker 4: in the miles. Oh yeah, bo brisky bo briskey eighty
- 19:19Speaker 4: nine miles per hour, seventy seven from Dean Kramer back
- 19:23Speaker 4: in twenty one. So you get the idea, nobody's throwing
- 19:26Speaker 4: that joint ninety nine, let alone keeping it fair. And
- 19:30Speaker 4: like there's I will go against what Trevor said. There
- 19:34Speaker 4: is nobody you like, you kind of hesitated, You're like
- 19:36Speaker 4: trying to think throughout the game.
- 19:38Speaker 5: I mean I show nobody, I mean show hey, yeah,
- 19:43Speaker 5: show but show hey. You're right, he has more of
- 19:46Speaker 5: a he has to pull the barrel through, more like
- 19:48Speaker 5: he more of a you know Judge stays inside the
- 19:51Speaker 5: ball's better, so like he would have probably pulled a
- 19:53Speaker 5: foul I just the way he swings and where that
- 19:57Speaker 5: pitch was and where he hit it on the bat
- 19:59Speaker 5: only Aaron Judge swing and him being six to seven
- 20:01Speaker 5: and the strongest human being in the league, those two
- 20:04Speaker 5: things combined pretty sound. Run and nobody and he chased.
- 20:08Speaker 4: He chased the pitch all the time. Everyone's like, oh,
- 20:10Speaker 4: it's the postseason, Like he wants to do more for
- 20:13Speaker 4: his team. Duh, he wants to ring. He wants to
- 20:19Speaker 4: do more for his team. He knows, like we get like,
- 20:22Speaker 4: you can't have it both ways. You can't be like
- 20:25Speaker 4: Juan Soto never swings out of the zone. So that's
- 20:28Speaker 4: why he doesn't come up huge for his team. Aaron
- 20:31Speaker 4: Judge is swinging out of the zone. That's why he
- 20:33Speaker 4: doesn't come up huge for his team. No, he knows
- 20:37Speaker 4: what is at stake. Aaron Judges known what is at
- 20:40Speaker 4: stake all last offseason or all postseason, last year, the
- 20:44Speaker 4: year before. He knows that he's struggled, but he also
- 20:47Speaker 4: knows he's got to get the job done. If they're
- 20:49Speaker 4: throwing to him, he's got to get the job done,
- 20:51Speaker 4: so hey, he chased, but you know what else. I
- 20:53Speaker 4: think he's in five seventy one this series, so layoff
- 20:57Speaker 4: Aaron Judge and his legacy is still dictated on him
- 21:01Speaker 4: winning a World Series or not winning a World Series.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Ft FAM. Another reason why you should love Arena Club
- 21:10Speaker 1: is the grading system. So you recently pulled a slap
- 21:13Speaker 1: pack and then you said, hey, it's not graded. Great
- 21:17Speaker 1: it for me. They gave you an eight point five
- 21:18Speaker 1: out of ten on your Auto whitey Ford card and
- 21:21Speaker 1: then they show you all the details of the grading system.
- 21:24Speaker 1: It's very interactive within the app, and then you're done.
- 21:27Speaker 1: If you want to sell the card or you want
- 21:28Speaker 1: to know what it's worth, you've got it.
- 21:30Speaker 5: It's like getting taken a school on cards.
- 21:32Speaker 6: And I think that's the coolest part of it. If
- 21:33Speaker 6: you're young or old, you understand, Hey, this is how
- 21:36Speaker 6: it gets deciphered all the way through. It shows you
- 21:38Speaker 6: the numbers and how they went through it. I think
- 21:41Speaker 6: that's the coolest part about this whole thing. And then
- 21:42Speaker 6: you can keep it traded or sell it or whatever
- 21:44Speaker 6: you want.
- 21:45Speaker 1: And it's so much more efficient to do this through
- 21:49Speaker 1: Arena Club. Whether you're ripping a pack, there's the slab packs,
- 21:52Speaker 1: buying a card, selling a card, grading a card. It's
- 21:54Speaker 1: all there for you. We talk about it all season long.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Arena club dot com slash foul where you can go
- 22:00Speaker 1: to give it a shot. Twenty percent off your first
- 22:02Speaker 1: card purchase. Arenaclub dot com slash foul. Use the code
- 22:05Speaker 1: foul at checkout and get twenty percent off. It's one
- 22:08Speaker 1: of the best chases of all time. Guys, it truly is.
- 22:11Speaker 1: The statistics back it up. I mean, we haven't had
- 22:13Speaker 1: the stats forever, but the pitch tracking era two thousand
- 22:15Speaker 1: and eight regular season or postseason home run off ninety
- 22:19Speaker 1: nine plus. That was one point two feet from the
- 22:23Speaker 1: center of the zone. That's the only time it's happened
- 22:26Speaker 1: one time ever, you know, meaningless regular season game, nothing, nothing,
- 22:31Speaker 1: just judge. That's how incredible it was.
- 22:33Speaker 3: You know.
- 22:33Speaker 1: It also stood out. The Blue Jays won the team
- 22:36Speaker 1: Gold Glove the last two years and their defense was
- 22:40Speaker 1: still rated very high.
- 22:41Speaker 5: This year.
- 22:41Speaker 1: They debt with some injuries like Barshow missed a good
- 22:43Speaker 1: chunk of time. But he's here now, right, Barshow's here,
- 22:46Speaker 1: Kirk's here. Jimenez might be the best or one of
- 22:48Speaker 1: the best at his position or one of the best
- 22:50Speaker 1: middle infielders, right, Like, there's plenty of good defenders there,
- 22:53Speaker 1: but their defense was atrocious last night, Trevor. I mean
- 22:57Speaker 1: they looked like what some people make fun of the
- 23:00Speaker 1: Yankees about more last year, right, but a little bit
- 23:02Speaker 1: this year. You've had some sloppiness. The Yankees had that
- 23:04Speaker 1: in a series against the Blue Jays. How uncharacteristic was that?
- 23:08Speaker 1: And did one of them stand out to you? You know,
- 23:11Speaker 1: the IKF error right away gets you a run. Of course,
- 23:14Speaker 1: the Barger miss or you could blame the left fielder
- 23:17Speaker 1: at that point, I think it was Schneider out there
- 23:19Speaker 1: and left your thoughts on what you saw defensively.
- 23:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I think the IKF was the most
- 23:26Speaker 5: surprising one. And it's again, you want to set the
- 23:28Speaker 5: tone early. You're going to make the player you're supposed
- 23:30Speaker 5: to make. And you the Yankees are a team. You know,
- 23:33Speaker 5: I played against them a lot and Kratz can back
- 23:36Speaker 5: me up on this, like they are, they have always
- 23:39Speaker 5: been and they will continue to be. Give them an
- 23:41Speaker 5: inch and they'll take a mile. Like, just don't give
- 23:44Speaker 5: them an opening, and that's how you beat them. You
- 23:45Speaker 5: have to you have to make the player you're supposed
- 23:47Speaker 5: to make. If you make errors in the Bronx, like,
- 23:51Speaker 5: it just feels like it's ten times worse than it is.
- 23:54Speaker 5: And so I would say that one kind of was like, uh,
- 23:57Speaker 5: I don't I don't like the tone that that set.
- 23:59Speaker 5: And then obviously we have the judge Homer that then
- 24:01Speaker 5: flips some momentum even more their way even after they've
- 24:03Speaker 5: been swinging it right. The Barger one was interesting, but
- 24:06Speaker 5: I would say that it's probably Schnyder didn't look the
- 24:10Speaker 5: most comfortable I've ever seen anyone in left field. Right,
- 24:13Speaker 5: he caught a couple of balls that were iffy coming
- 24:16Speaker 5: in the wind. Maybe was a little bit weird, but
- 24:19Speaker 5: Barger was calling off a ball that he probably shouldn't
- 24:21Speaker 5: have been catching with how wonky everything was being. And
- 24:25Speaker 5: then you know they had centend aeron right. We saw
- 24:27Speaker 5: the weird dive lay there, belly flop thing that happened
- 24:31Speaker 5: there as well that looked awkward. So like, it's not
- 24:34Speaker 5: like they had their best options in the corners and
- 24:36Speaker 5: they just happened to have the plays that they needed
- 24:39Speaker 5: to make hit in those directions. So they still had
- 24:41Speaker 5: bar shown center and I would say I would still
- 24:43Speaker 5: put my money on them being very defensively sound starting
- 24:46Speaker 5: tonight as well. Just there was just a couple very
- 24:49Speaker 5: There were momentum shifts as well as miscues, and you
- 24:54Speaker 5: can get away with a couple of miscues sometimes, but
- 24:57Speaker 5: if it's a if it shifts a momentum or doesn't
- 24:59Speaker 5: set the tone in the right way, that's just going
- 25:01Speaker 5: to be played up, you know, times ten in the Bronx.
- 25:04Speaker 5: It's just it's really hard to get it out of
- 25:05Speaker 5: your head if you were the one that does it.
- 25:08Speaker 4: I thought the play by Vlad was a good play.
- 25:11Speaker 4: You got the out, didn't let the run score. But
- 25:14Speaker 4: if that's an automatic double play and you're up by
- 25:17Speaker 4: I think at that time they were up by two
- 25:21Speaker 4: no three. To me, you get the two outs because
- 25:24Speaker 4: the ball was hit really hard to him and he
- 25:26Speaker 4: decided to cut the run down and try to get
- 25:29Speaker 4: greedy and not let not let judge score. But you
- 25:32Speaker 4: could have had bases empty, one run in and two outs.
- 25:36Speaker 4: That is a huge to me. That was a momentum
- 25:39Speaker 4: shift too.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I want to hit the bullpen situation, Trevor. The Yankees
- 25:47Speaker 1: bullpen went six and two thirds scoreless three, it's nine
- 25:52Speaker 1: punch outs. You're like, damn, this bullpen looks like it's
- 25:55Speaker 1: back on for this one, and it's actually the Blue
- 25:57Speaker 1: Jays bullpen. They get smashed and then has to roll
- 25:59Speaker 1: out a bullpen game against the Yankees. I think a
- 26:02Speaker 1: lot of people are looking at this matchup as lopsided. Yes,
- 26:06Speaker 1: Schlitzler got hit pretty good by Toronto about a month ago.
- 26:09Speaker 1: He's learned a little bit since then. But thoughts on
- 26:12Speaker 1: where we stand with pitching.
- 26:16Speaker 5: It's definitely interesting because I think that the one of
- 26:18Speaker 5: the weaknesses going into the playoffs where the Toronto specifically
- 26:22Speaker 5: was their bullpen. We knew about, you know, the Yankees
- 26:24Speaker 5: and there their struggles. But Devin Williams has been good
- 26:27Speaker 5: so far and Bednar has rose to the occasion, which
- 26:30Speaker 5: was a question mark, you know, career career has been
- 26:32Speaker 5: in Pittsburgh. They haven't even sniffed a playoff series, so
- 26:35Speaker 5: what was going to be like in this situation. And
- 26:37Speaker 5: he's been great. He's been as advertised, He's done a
- 26:40Speaker 5: great job in that role. So I think they're feeling
- 26:43Speaker 5: more and more confident those guys. Honestly, the X factor
- 26:45Speaker 5: for me, the guy who didn't pitch as much in
- 26:47Speaker 5: the first couple of games in the first series. Kimill
- 26:51Speaker 5: He's he's a he is a tough guy to face
- 26:53Speaker 5: in the playoffs because he's just there's no one like him.
- 26:56Speaker 5: He doesn't throw hard like everyone else is hard. He
- 26:57Speaker 5: throw a submarine like and he's he's funky. And there's lefties,
- 27:01Speaker 5: some bopper lefties that they need to get out, you know,
- 27:04Speaker 5: get rid of Barger out of there, get Ernie clement
- 27:06Speaker 5: in like he's gonna he's kind of been that a
- 27:08Speaker 5: little bit. He's thrown well, so like they're getting quality
- 27:12Speaker 5: outings devolves a little bit better. Uh, it's just going
- 27:15Speaker 5: to come down to can Louis Varlin set the tone again?
- 27:19Speaker 5: Is this going to be another two run inning to
- 27:20Speaker 5: start the game and then a three nothing? Then you
- 27:22Speaker 5: got to figure it out because if they're working from behind,
- 27:24Speaker 5: you're putting more pressure on the offense against a guy
- 27:27Speaker 5: who is dialed in, Like that's for me what it's
- 27:30Speaker 5: going to come down to. And then how are they
- 27:31Speaker 5: going to finish the game with Jeff Hopmin going to
- 27:33Speaker 5: be the guy they go to or they just waiting
- 27:34Speaker 5: to give it to him? When do they deploy their
- 27:36Speaker 5: leverage guys in Sir Anthony deming guys like they have
- 27:39Speaker 5: these options. But it's going to be it's gonna be
- 27:42Speaker 5: really interesting to see if this is a tie game,
- 27:44Speaker 5: if that changes, or if they're just running, you know,
- 27:47Speaker 5: every single inning from the third inning on its leverage.
- 27:49Speaker 5: If they have a lead, my guess is they will
- 27:51Speaker 5: do that. They will, they will fully lean in on that.
- 27:54Speaker 5: But if they're behind, how much does that change things?
- 27:57Speaker 5: And then how does that set them up for Game five?
- 28:00Speaker 5: I you know the Yankees can push the momentum here,
- 28:04Speaker 5: it's dangerous for the for the Blue Jays.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Thirty seconds krats, last word, Cam Schlitzler, Rerack what you
- 28:11Speaker 1: told us recently? And do you think that it will
- 28:14Speaker 1: play out that way? How much more difficult would the
- 28:16Speaker 1: Blue Jays be than the Red Sox.
- 28:19Speaker 4: They showed it last time. Twenty foul balls they faced
- 28:22Speaker 4: some last time of twenty foul balls. He kept trying
- 28:24Speaker 4: to run the ball high up in the zone. He's
- 28:26Speaker 4: going to have to get out at the bottom of
- 28:28Speaker 4: the zone. Strikeouts and sing and swings and missus.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, last time was not good for him. It
- 28:35Speaker 1: was September fifth against Toronto regular season, though for Schlitler overall,
- 28:39Speaker 1: the numbers are good and the wild card was one
- 28:42Speaker 1: of the better performances in the playoffs that we've seen.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Eight innings nowhere and runs and twelve strikeouts for him
- 28:50Speaker 1: in that matchup against Boston. We'll see part two for
- 28:52Speaker 1: him on our way out here. Promo for Pinstripe Territory
- 28:58Speaker 1: one more time, please yes, Derek Lewandowski after this one
- 29:02Speaker 1: again either talking about what will be a Game five
- 29:05Speaker 1: if the Yankees win, or he will be nailing the
- 29:08Speaker 1: coffin on the Yankees twenty twenty five season. Yankees are
- 29:12Speaker 1: pretty heavily favored in this one. Yeah, the pressure cooker
- 29:23Speaker 1: is at a red alert right now for the Philadelphia
- 29:26Speaker 1: Phillies as we talk about the Dodgers and Phillies matching up.
- 29:28Speaker 1: That's the late game tonight and it's a chance for
- 29:30Speaker 1: the Dodgers to sweep Philly. So, Trevor, first off, the
- 29:36Speaker 1: stars haven't been stars for Philadelphia. Do you think that
- 29:39Speaker 1: has more to do with the Dodgers pitching or with
- 29:41Speaker 1: Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Trey Turner not showing up
- 29:44Speaker 1: in big spots right now? Two for twenty one to
- 29:45Speaker 1: eleven strikeouts in the NLDS.
- 29:49Speaker 5: You know, I'll say it's fifty to fifty. I mean,
- 29:51Speaker 5: you know to say Kyle for like, what come on, man,
- 29:54Speaker 5: show up. It's only Otawni and Lake. Snell was the
- 29:57Speaker 5: hardest lefties for lefties to hit. The exists right, who
- 30:01Speaker 5: was absolutely sharp as I've seen him in a while.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Think the ball was jumping out of his hands, so
- 30:07Speaker 5: it didn't surprise me. Lazaro is the same way frankly.
- 30:09Speaker 5: So we're seeing a trend here in the playoffs, right,
- 30:13Speaker 5: We're like the Mariners have won won some games. Juli
- 30:16Speaker 5: Driguez and Ralely need to be leading that charge. They
- 30:20Speaker 5: have been. The Aaron Judge leading the charge he has been.
- 30:24Speaker 5: Vladimir Gara Junior needs to leave the charge. He has
- 30:26Speaker 5: been like, you need your guys that you that you
- 30:29Speaker 5: pay to do that job to lead your lead the charge.
- 30:33Speaker 5: And they just haven't gotten it yet. But there is
- 30:35Speaker 5: always still time. There's a right in the Mount of Yamamoto,
- 30:39Speaker 5: a better matchup for both Harper and Schwarber with the lefties. Right.
- 30:43Speaker 5: So you know we were a four hit, four or
- 30:45Speaker 5: five hits from them. Those two away from taking a
- 30:47Speaker 5: game at their place against a tough a tough starting pitcher.
- 30:51Speaker 5: If you can shift that momentum, you can get you
- 30:54Speaker 5: can get a get going. But like it's it's we're
- 30:57Speaker 5: now back against wall. This is the final chance. The
- 30:59Speaker 5: first two times didn't work. You had a lead, it
- 31:01Speaker 5: didn't happen. We got Ti Oscar and Ez is just
- 31:04Speaker 5: he's turning the miss October as well at this point.
- 31:06Speaker 5: So like they're there are need and the Dodgers are
- 31:10Speaker 5: also getting the production that they expect from the top
- 31:12Speaker 5: of their own lineup right. It's not like everyone needs that.
- 31:15Speaker 5: They only need the top three guys to do all
- 31:17Speaker 5: the work. Hek is doing what he always does, which
- 31:20Speaker 5: I can't wait till the studies for that come out
- 31:23Speaker 5: when he's retired and we get to see that thirty
- 31:25Speaker 5: to thirty. But like, you know, it's got you need it.
- 31:29Speaker 5: You Ney, Bryce Harper is the MVP, and you need
- 31:31Speaker 5: Kyle Sharber to to, you know, be the guy who's
- 31:35Speaker 5: probably going to be second place in the MVP body,
- 31:37Speaker 5: and they just they can't win without it.
- 31:39Speaker 4: It doesn't take much, just takes one swing. Takes one swing,
- 31:43Speaker 4: but you got to hit a dinger off of a
- 31:45Speaker 4: dude in. Yamamoto really has so many different weapons. To me,
- 31:51Speaker 4: if I look at the matchup, I say Phillies can't
- 31:54Speaker 4: hit spin. They really struggle with spin. It's not fair
- 31:56Speaker 4: to say Blake Snell's spin because he was throwing it
- 31:59Speaker 4: in ninety one mile hour slider that was breaking more
- 32:04Speaker 4: than a pitch that's looking like that should break. And
- 32:07Speaker 4: he's nasty all the time because that curveball is always
- 32:09Speaker 4: in there and he'll go left or left change ups.
- 32:11Speaker 4: But Yamamoto, if he just sticks fastball split, I think
- 32:16Speaker 4: the Phillies have a better chance because they stay out
- 32:19Speaker 4: through the ball a little bit. If he's spinning it,
- 32:21Speaker 4: if he's running that cutter up and in to those guys,
- 32:24Speaker 4: they can't get up there. And I have a tough
- 32:28Speaker 4: time seeing Yamamoto and Rovett if he's back there, or
- 32:32Speaker 4: Will Smith if he's back there, saying oh yeah, we're
- 32:35Speaker 4: not going to really spin him to death. We're just
- 32:37Speaker 4: gonna throw a lot of splitters and see if we
- 32:39Speaker 4: can get the heater by them. Phillies got to come
- 32:41Speaker 4: out early and get the lead like they have, but
- 32:45Speaker 4: then they have to put them away. They've not done
- 32:48Speaker 4: a good job of stringing at bats together. It's going
- 32:51Speaker 4: to be so tough tonight.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Pitching wise, do you guys feel like this is the
- 33:00Speaker 1: right move with Nola and then Ranger Suarez And how
- 33:06Speaker 1: quickly that could shift from Nola to Ranger Suarez. I
- 33:09Speaker 1: mean some people are thinking Nola might be an opener
- 33:13Speaker 1: like three to six or nine outs, you know, first
- 33:18Speaker 1: one to three innings maybe right, Does that sound on track,
- 33:22Speaker 1: because I mean Suarez can get on a roll.
- 33:25Speaker 5: They both can. I mean, Nola was good at the
- 33:27Speaker 5: end of the year. He had had a great start
- 33:29Speaker 5: against the Mets. His last three starts were strong. It
- 33:33Speaker 5: was not a great year for him. But one thing
- 33:35Speaker 5: you're gonna not see is him. He's not gonna melt down.
- 33:38Speaker 5: He's not gonna show any emotion. He's gonna have zero
- 33:40Speaker 5: motion on his face. Maybe a little disappointment from timetime,
- 33:43Speaker 5: but he's not going to be overwhelmed by the by
- 33:46Speaker 5: the atmosphere or the situation. And neither is Ranger Suarez.
- 33:50Speaker 5: So those two guys are going to, at least from
- 33:53Speaker 5: the mental side of the game, be as dialtant as
- 33:55Speaker 5: they can be at this point, and they're just such
- 33:58Speaker 5: different looks that that those are two webs you can
- 34:00Speaker 5: have now you're you would love to not have to
- 34:02Speaker 5: go to Rangersuarros and have him for game potential game
- 34:06Speaker 5: four that I think that's ideal. But Nola has, you know,
- 34:12Speaker 5: every every opportunity in the world to get going, get
- 34:15Speaker 5: cruise and get guys to hit it at people, get
- 34:18Speaker 5: the get your just he he can absolutely paint that
- 34:21Speaker 5: zone and that I feel like that is that is
- 34:25Speaker 5: better than stuff at this point in the year because
- 34:27Speaker 5: everyone's throwing a hundred, they're seeing everyone seeing every other
- 34:30Speaker 5: pitches one hundred miles an hour. Maybe a little bit
- 34:32Speaker 5: of the other other way might be more effective in
- 34:35Speaker 5: this situation, you might be economical and really take some
- 34:38Speaker 5: wind out of the sales. So that's what they need
- 34:39Speaker 5: to do. They need that out of Nola. If he
- 34:41Speaker 5: only goes nine hitters, things probably aren't going good for
- 34:44Speaker 5: the Phillies.
- 34:45Speaker 4: I would disagree. I think as soon as anything happens,
- 34:49Speaker 4: Nola's out. And I think that's why Nola's starting, because
- 34:52Speaker 4: if Nola's starting, or if Rangers starting, then Nola would
- 34:57Speaker 4: come in afterwards and you just never Nole has had
- 35:00Speaker 4: so many one inning blow ups that here in the postseason.
- 35:04Speaker 4: As soon as he gets anything, as soon as he
- 35:07Speaker 4: gets anything out there, bang, you're going right to Ranger.
- 35:11Speaker 4: And to me, if you get six innings out of
- 35:13Speaker 4: the two of them, that is a win and the
- 35:15Speaker 4: Phillies move on to Game four.
- 35:20Speaker 1: The Philly Show has been talking about this team, and
- 35:23Speaker 1: they're also therapeutic for those Philly fans that need it
- 35:26Speaker 1: with the way that the home environment has been not
- 35:31Speaker 1: just in the postseason, but really all regular season long,
- 35:35Speaker 1: and fans are feeling pissed off. I mean, it doesn't
- 35:38Speaker 1: take much to piss off a Philly fan and make
- 35:40Speaker 1: them boo. And you're certainly getting it right now. So
- 35:42Speaker 1: make sure you check out The Philly Show part of
- 35:45Speaker 1: the FT Network YouTube wherever you get your pods. Okay,
- 35:49Speaker 1: a little news off the field. Paul Toboni takes over
- 35:52Speaker 1: for the Washington Nationals. He's leading the front office and
- 35:57Speaker 1: apparently there are a lot of changes going on. This
- 36:00Speaker 1: is the perfect time to do it. I mean, I
- 36:01Speaker 1: know it's not fun, but when there's postseason baseball going on,
- 36:05Speaker 1: most other baseball news gets pushed under the rug. Andrew
- 36:08Speaker 1: Golden said the Nats are making sweeping changes to their
- 36:11Speaker 1: front office today, Among them, assistant GM Mark ski Laba
- 36:15Speaker 1: and farm director Eddie Alangos have been formed they aren't
- 36:18Speaker 1: returning next season, and Parry ver Luga a lot of
- 36:23Speaker 1: tough names here, guys. I mean, come on, Barry's been
- 36:27Speaker 1: around covering the team for a while. He said, one
- 36:30Speaker 1: scout told him it's a bloodbath. I mean, he's going
- 36:33Speaker 1: to get his own people in there. Trevor. Plus, we're
- 36:35Speaker 1: going through changes, as it is with the sport, so
- 36:40Speaker 1: it's not good. And the Nats are making this change
- 36:42Speaker 1: because they weren't happy with how many players were being
- 36:45Speaker 1: produced through the system. Whether it's fair or not for
- 36:49Speaker 1: the team to be quietly up for sale and them
- 36:52Speaker 1: just trying to do things to tread water until the
- 36:55Speaker 1: next CBA when they can actually sell the team.
- 36:59Speaker 5: All right, there's a lot of moving pieces going. You
- 37:02Speaker 5: have to do something. We're seeing this a lot like
- 37:05Speaker 5: remember with the Twins. Before the season, they're like, are
- 37:07Speaker 5: we selling or we're not selling? Can we sign any players?
- 37:10Speaker 5: Can we do anything? And then we have the season
- 37:12Speaker 5: go of the way and they're like, ah, we're gonna
- 37:13Speaker 5: get rid of everybody and we're going to kind of
- 37:15Speaker 5: sell the team like that kind of uncertainty makes running
- 37:18Speaker 5: a major league organization and trying to win almost impossible,
- 37:21Speaker 5: especially if you are the one making personnel decisions. So
- 37:25Speaker 5: the least you can do is bring in a group
- 37:27Speaker 5: of people that are all on the same page and
- 37:29Speaker 5: that are comfortable communicating their process moving forward, and that
- 37:34Speaker 5: everyone is going to be able to put that process
- 37:37Speaker 5: in play so they can develop players. You're going to
- 37:39Speaker 5: need that no matter who owns the team and no
- 37:42Speaker 5: matter who's making the decisions, you need that. So a
- 37:45Speaker 5: lot of these decisions come down to that. Really the
- 37:48Speaker 5: big interesting ones are there's a lot of teams that
- 37:51Speaker 5: also got rid of their or front offices all the
- 37:55Speaker 5: way down to the manager. Also when they had that
- 37:58Speaker 5: kind of change of the command kind of lined up
- 38:00Speaker 5: and and it was a lot of execution. And sometimes
- 38:02Speaker 5: it's optics. Sometimes it's actual like process that they don't like,
- 38:06Speaker 5: or the communications batter if there's someone in there that's
- 38:09Speaker 5: not being stubborn or whatever. Like it's hard to tell,
- 38:13Speaker 5: but you know, it's it's a wait and see situation
- 38:16Speaker 5: and and you just kind of try to guess what
- 38:19Speaker 5: your ownership is trying to do or what kind of
- 38:21Speaker 5: they're kind of play they're trying to make as best
- 38:24Speaker 5: you can. But you know, at least this is something happened, right,
- 38:28Speaker 5: something something new is there. So it's wait and see
- 38:32Speaker 5: what kind of process they have.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Okay, let's slap shall we. First off, we'll get to
- 38:51Speaker 1: a little bit of news here. So the Rays have
- 38:55Speaker 1: a new ownership group. Patrick Zelevsky spoke and he said
- 39:01Speaker 1: item number one new ballpark. Shocker. We can show the
- 39:07Speaker 1: tweet from Mark Topkin, but I mean that is what
- 39:09Speaker 1: the city is waiting for. You had a lot to
- 39:12Speaker 1: say in the intro press conference, but most interesting, aggressive
- 39:16Speaker 1: and perhaps audacious.
- 39:17Speaker 5: That's his quote.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Plans to build a fixed roof stadium in a one
- 39:21Speaker 1: hundred plus acre world class live work play experience that
- 39:25Speaker 1: will open for the twenty twenty nine season. So you
- 39:28Speaker 1: would think that the Rays have that on their mind.
- 39:31Speaker 1: What what are you confused about? Well, you're muted, come back,
- 39:38Speaker 1: come back.
- 39:39Speaker 4: What he was going to say was what he was
- 39:41Speaker 4: going to say was no way ownership should worry about
- 39:44Speaker 4: winning first. Like the first and foremost thing was don't
- 39:47Speaker 4: you bought a sports team. You didn't buy a freaking
- 39:50Speaker 4: real estate investment, save it meet, Like, tell me what
- 39:53Speaker 4: you're gonna do and put money into the team, and
- 39:56Speaker 4: then I'll look at your fixed roof stadium. That's that's
- 40:01Speaker 4: irritating to me.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm gonna go against you guys a little bit,
- 40:04Speaker 1: just because I would imagine and hope that he brought
- 40:07Speaker 1: that up as well during the press conference. We have
- 40:10Speaker 1: not seen the whole press conference. We were just told
- 40:12Speaker 1: about some standouts from Mark Hopkins, so maybe that was included.
- 40:15Speaker 1: But you also might have a point that he did
- 40:18Speaker 1: make his money in real estate and MLB's number one
- 40:21Speaker 1: goal is to be a real estate Bahamath behemoth Bahamath
- 40:26Speaker 1: maybe in the Bahamash final thoughts here crats yeah with
- 40:30Speaker 1: a minute ago final thoughts for these four games. I mean,
- 40:35Speaker 1: are you going to be on the postgame show by
- 40:37Speaker 1: the way, or it's a TVD. I know we have
- 40:39Speaker 1: Trevor TVD schedule pending. Okay, everybody will be looking at
- 40:46Speaker 1: YouTube for the beginning of the postgame show like is
- 40:49Speaker 1: he there?
- 40:51Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 40:54Speaker 1: We got like thirty seconds.
- 40:58Speaker 4: Maren has finished show you okay, m that's what I think.
- 41:03Speaker 4: Amazon Mariners and if they show this team finishes it
- 41:07Speaker 4: tonight wow ooh baby, I think the blue for everybody
- 41:16Speaker 4: who's listening.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Blue Jays Schlittler, Hey there he is, just in time.
