- 0:00Speaker 1: Enough is enough.
- 0:05Speaker 2: I have had enough.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Why so serious?
- 0:08Speaker 4: And we hold the world ransom for Wayne Gandy.
- 0:11Speaker 5: Excuse me while I whip this out.
- 0:14Speaker 6: Show me.
- 0:15Speaker 7: Broadcasting live in Atlanta, Georgia.
- 0:18Speaker 5: This, this is the Sports Chalk.
- 0:20Speaker 6: Show with Wayne Gandy. You may pick.
- 0:42Speaker 5: Welcome, welcome, welcome!
- 0:46Speaker 8: You're listening to the Sports Shock Show. I am the
- 0:49Speaker 8: Sports Shock, Wayne Candy. Good morning to you out there
- 0:53Speaker 8: in listening land. It is Thursday, Thursday night football coming
- 0:56Speaker 8: to you. The 4-2 Patriots at the 4-2 Bears. Drake
- 1:01Speaker 8: May and the Patriots looking at Caleb. and the Chicago Bears,
- 1:08Speaker 8: the Bears holding it down until Caleb Williams got back
- 1:12Speaker 8: last week against the Falcons and came back. And I
- 1:16Speaker 8: think the one aspect of what Caleb Williams has brought back,
- 1:22Speaker 8: you got to realize he's a mobile, he's not a
- 1:25Speaker 8: running quarterback, a mobile quarterback. He can play off schedule.
- 1:31Speaker 8: He has a little of that Patrick Mahomes in him.
- 1:33Speaker 8: He can play off schedule. He can make it happen outside.
- 1:37Speaker 8: He's not necessarily going to run for a lot of
- 1:39Speaker 8: yards like a Lamar Jackson, but he can stramble, he
- 1:43Speaker 8: can extend plays, and he can punish you when he
- 1:46Speaker 8: does it. So a good game tonight, both teams at
- 1:48Speaker 8: four and two. But we're going to jump right into
- 1:51Speaker 8: the WNBA. Action last night, dream winning the game. But
- 1:54Speaker 8: as always with WNBA, it seems at least in this season,
- 2:00Speaker 8: especially the last three years that Kaitlyn Clark has joined
- 2:04Speaker 8: the WNBA. Every game seems to have some controversy. Every
- 2:09Speaker 8: week has something to do other than that the dream
- 2:13Speaker 8: in the last two games with Angel Reese, very dominant.
- 2:18Speaker 8: And the young lady that was guarding Angel, Angel can't
- 2:22Speaker 8: go left. And she's not going to shoot the jumper.
- 2:28Speaker 8: So why are you letting her go right and lay
- 2:32Speaker 8: the ball in? It's all I would be asking as
- 2:35Speaker 8: a coach.
- 2:38Speaker 5: She is not.
- 2:39Speaker 8: She might shoot it once just because you left her
- 2:42Speaker 8: so wide open and I get you're playing off because
- 2:45Speaker 8: you're daring her to shoot the jumper. But then why
- 2:49Speaker 8: are you letting her drive right or lay up? You
- 2:57Speaker 8: play off. closed down her right hand. She can only
- 3:01Speaker 8: go left or shoot the jumper. I don't get what's
- 3:04Speaker 8: so hard about that. I don't know, but maybe the
- 3:09Speaker 8: coach hasn't really laid down the law with that player,
- 3:12Speaker 8: but it's crazy that you continue. She hits you with
- 3:15Speaker 8: that same pump fake, like she's going to shoot the jumper,
- 3:18Speaker 8: which she isn't, and go right and lay the ball
- 3:22Speaker 8: off the rim. It's like she's killing you with that same,
- 3:25Speaker 8: and she was letting you know, you can't check me.
- 3:28Speaker 5: And I don't know why you can't check her.
- 3:31Speaker 8: It seems, but once again, uh, these two teams, they,
- 3:36Speaker 8: they rush off of the court before the national anthem.
- 3:41Speaker 8: This is a jog off national right before it starts,
- 3:45Speaker 8: they jog off. And then right as an end, they
- 3:48Speaker 8: storm back out for introduction. Uh, it was seen again,
- 3:52Speaker 8: has been reported on again, as I said, the same controversy, um,
- 3:57Speaker 8: even saw a report where it was asking that if
- 3:59Speaker 8: that's how they're going to be, then none of those
- 4:01Speaker 8: players should be viable for the U.S. team if that's
- 4:05Speaker 8: how you feel. Q Parker did the national anthem, which
- 4:09Speaker 8: is an African-American man. So obviously there's someone as you're
- 4:17Speaker 8: running off as though he, I guess he's singing it.
- 4:20Speaker 8: He sees the Liberty. Alanis Morissette did it for the
- 4:23Speaker 8: Valkyries for their game out in California. So I guess,
- 4:27Speaker 8: you know, she's always been a figure in the public
- 4:31Speaker 8: that's kind of stood on social rights. And those people,
- 4:35Speaker 8: I guess, there's some liberty into it. What will the
- 4:38Speaker 8: WNBA do about this? We'll see last week because watching
- 4:43Speaker 8: the NBA game, the kickoff the season with the Sixers
- 4:46Speaker 8: and the Knicks, both teams on the court, doing the
- 4:50Speaker 8: national anthem. The next thing is Ennis Cantor. Asked not
- 4:56Speaker 8: to sit in his seat, was offered a suite where
- 5:00Speaker 8: he didn't feel like he needed to be escorted to.
- 5:06Speaker 5: A suite.
- 5:07Speaker 8: I bought a ticket to sit on the court. Big Kenny,
- 5:12Speaker 8: the funny man himself, Comanche Greg, the bad producer, Good morning,
- 5:17Speaker 8: good morning, sir. In the building this morning. Guys, I
- 5:21Speaker 8: bought a ticket. You didn't give me a ticket. I
- 5:28Speaker 8: purchased the ticket. Sit on the floor. You calling me,
- 5:35Speaker 8: telling me I got some seats in the suite, some
- 5:40Speaker 8: free seats, and I reimbursed you. But that's not the
- 5:44Speaker 8: package I bought, though.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Hold on, hold on.
- 5:47Speaker 2: You called us first saying you were concerned for your safety.
- 5:51Speaker 9: Sure.
- 5:52Speaker 2: So we offered you a suite.
- 5:54Speaker 10: No.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Because you didn't feel safe.
- 5:56Speaker 5: I'm letting you know I'm headed to the game.
- 5:59Speaker 8: You said you didn't feel safe, though, so we tried
- 6:01Speaker 8: to help. I didn't ask you to remove me from
- 6:03Speaker 8: my seat. I'm just letting you know I'm headed to
- 6:05Speaker 8: the game if you need to let your security know.
- 6:10Speaker 11: So you finna get me in a little private room
- 6:13Speaker 11: and set me up? What y'all trying to do? Y'all
- 6:15Speaker 11: trying to box me in? Why I got to go
- 6:17Speaker 11: upstairs when can't nobody see me? We don't need you
- 6:20Speaker 11: as a distraction.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Oh, you don't need me. So what, you going to
- 6:23Speaker 5: eliminate me? As a distraction.
- 6:25Speaker 8: But let's do one thing on this subject real quick
- 6:28Speaker 8: before we get to the comedic part. You bought a ticket.
- 6:35Speaker 8: Comanche Greg, not Enos Cantor. Comanche Greg buys a floor ticket.
- 6:40Speaker 8: You spent your money to sit on the floor. Where
- 6:48Speaker 8: you want to sit? Yeah, I want to sit on
- 6:51Speaker 8: the floor. Where do you want to sit?
- 6:53Speaker 12: Where I paid for. Where do you want to sit?
- 6:57Speaker 12: Where I paid for the ticket to sit.
- 6:59Speaker 5: Okay, in this workshop, I want to sit where I
- 7:02Speaker 5: want to sit.
- 7:03Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 7:04Speaker 8: I'm informing you with a call that I have been
- 7:08Speaker 8: getting death threats from the FBI. I'm just letting you
- 7:11Speaker 8: know what is coming to your arena. I didn't call
- 7:16Speaker 8: you to ask you for some different seats.
- 7:18Speaker 5: He didn't even ask for security. Or security. I'm just letting,
- 7:22Speaker 5: alerting you. What you call us for? I just told you.
- 7:25Speaker 5: I literally just told you what I call. What you
- 7:27Speaker 5: want us to do then? I didn't ask you to
- 7:28Speaker 5: do anything. I was just alerting you.
- 7:31Speaker 8: The same way you call the airport and tell them
- 7:34Speaker 8: that you have a peanut allergy.
- 7:39Speaker 4: We didn't know that. We didn't need to know that.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Is that not what they do for the airport?
- 7:50Speaker 13: Yes.
- 7:50Speaker 5: They don't have that on the ticket, do they? No,
- 7:52Speaker 5: they don't. Do they have a box that says, check? No.
- 7:57Speaker 5: You inform. My daughter has a peanut allergy.
- 7:59Speaker 8: And then the PA lady says, or the flight attendant says,
- 8:02Speaker 8: we're not going to serve peanuts because so-and-so, they don't
- 8:06Speaker 8: even tell you who it is, has a peanut allergy.
- 8:10Speaker 8: So I was just doing you a service in case
- 8:12Speaker 8: you wanted to increase your.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Or to let you know what's happening in the building.
- 8:23Speaker 8: In his canter, as you know, issues in Indiana, he's been,
- 8:26Speaker 8: Emmitt Royce White have been very vocal about transgenders playing
- 8:32Speaker 8: in the WNBA. I just don't know why I can't
- 8:36Speaker 8: sit in the seat I purchased.
- 8:40Speaker 5: You either avoid my ticket And let me sue you.
- 8:47Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Or that's all you. You don't get to offer me.
- 8:51Speaker 5: Go ahead, Big Kenny.
- 8:51Speaker 11: Well, if I could put on the bad producer's hat
- 8:56Speaker 11: and play devil advocate for just a moment. If I'm
- 8:59Speaker 11: getting on an airplane and I have a peanut allergy,
- 9:05Speaker 11: nine out of ten times the Peanuts do not sponsor
- 9:11Speaker 11: the airlines, nor is the destination a peanut production facility.
- 9:18Speaker 11: If I'm getting death threats from the WNBA, And I'm
- 9:24Speaker 11: coming to a WNBA game. And I tell you, hey,
- 9:28Speaker 11: you know, y'all be on me, but I'm coming to
- 9:31Speaker 11: your game. Maybe you would feel some liability and you
- 9:34Speaker 11: want to minimize that. Look, man, we ain't finna let
- 9:36Speaker 11: nobody get out of hand here.
- 9:38Speaker 5: Maybe we ought to protect them because if something happened
- 9:40Speaker 5: to them, they're going to.
- 9:41Speaker 11: Blame it on us. And it's been building. They're going
- 9:44Speaker 11: to say that we aren't considering his point. We live
- 9:49Speaker 11: in political times. So to prevent ourselves from looking bad,
- 9:53Speaker 11: We're going to offer him a degree of safety that
- 9:56Speaker 11: he didn't even ask for.
- 9:58Speaker 12: Because like he said, I didn't. a security officer. No,
- 10:02Speaker 12: he did not.
- 10:02Speaker 5: Yes, he did. Okay. That's from the WNBA. Let me finish.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Go ahead. Let me finish. So if he did, in fact,
- 10:07Speaker 5: ask for it, you say he did, he say he didn't.
- 10:17Speaker 11: All I'm saying is, if you need a security officer,
- 10:22Speaker 11: one security officer to mind one fan decreases their efficacy
- 10:28Speaker 11: in minding everybody else at this event. We're going to
- 10:32Speaker 11: put you in a place where it's easier to protect
- 10:36Speaker 11: you and do our job, which is protect the fans.
- 10:42Speaker 3: You!
- 10:43Speaker 11: Who decided to come to this game.
- 10:45Speaker 8: That's a real- All you can offer me is the
- 10:48Speaker 8: security guard. I say I don't want the security guard.
- 10:51Speaker 8: You cannot kick me out. This is my seat.
- 10:54Speaker 5: No, no.
- 10:54Speaker 12: It's a seven-minute video, and he was saying it in
- 10:57Speaker 12: his own voice.
- 10:58Speaker 8: Now, see, that's a nuance. Kick me out and take
- 11:01Speaker 8: me to a suite is different. Because I won't go
- 11:03Speaker 8: to the suite, then you ask me to leave.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Oh, I see. I didn't know that part. Yeah, they did.
- 11:07Speaker 5: I didn't know that part.
- 11:08Speaker 12: They did.
- 11:08Speaker 5: That's what I was trying to tell you.
- 11:09Speaker 11: No, what I'm saying is when the story was set up,
- 11:13Speaker 11: That part was not mentioned.
- 11:14Speaker 5: That is a critical piece of information. But I was
- 11:18Speaker 5: trying to tell you that... No, no, the question was asked,
- 11:21Speaker 5: where would you want to sit? Okay. My thing was
- 11:24Speaker 5: where I paid for it. Okay, where you paid for it.
- 11:26Speaker 12: But what I'm saying is a seven-minute video, the whole incident,
- 11:29Speaker 12: I watched it. They had APD around them, and then
- 11:32Speaker 12: the lady came to them. She offered her money back.
- 11:34Speaker 12: There's another gentleman. He said, I don't want their money.
- 11:37Speaker 12: Just as the sports jock said. They said, put them
- 11:39Speaker 12: in their suites. He said, I don't want to.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Be caged in.
- 11:42Speaker 11: Sir, the last part of the story was, and so
- 11:45Speaker 11: they kicked him out. I did not know that part,
- 11:49Speaker 11: which is to me the most critical part of the story.
- 11:52Speaker 11: I don't want to go where you think I should go.
- 11:55Speaker 11: So now I got to leave.
- 11:57Speaker 8: Even if I don't want my money back, you going
- 12:00Speaker 8: to make me leave because you can't box me in.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Was, is, now the story for me. That's what I'm saying.
- 12:07Speaker 11: And in that instance, somebody ought to face some sort
- 12:11Speaker 11: of accountability.
- 12:12Speaker 2: You called about having security concerns. This is how we charge.
- 12:16Speaker 5: What do you want?
- 12:18Speaker 2: What do you want? So now I got to go?
- 12:21Speaker 2: You didn't want that. We have an officer assigned. So
- 12:25Speaker 2: let me sit in my seat. So let me sit
- 12:28Speaker 2: in my seat.
- 12:28Speaker 5: And take my chances. You're unwilling to let me.
- 12:32Speaker 2: What you calling us for? Just show up to the game.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Why you calling us about security concerns? Everybody calls. Everybody calls.
- 12:40Speaker 12: Hold on, sir.
- 12:42Speaker 8: Everybody calls. Two chains calls. Every celebrity in that first
- 12:49Speaker 8: row called.
- 12:50Speaker 5: Comanche Gray.
- 12:51Speaker 8: I'm coming to your house for your birthday party. Watch
- 12:54Speaker 8: your dog. I'm coming to your house for your birthday party.
- 12:58Speaker 8: Please watch your dog. Best believe Beyonce called for security.
- 13:03Speaker 2: She don't just walk on the court. I don't know.
- 13:06Speaker 2: I'm an idiot. I'm sorry.
- 13:08Speaker 8: And we'll be back with more of the Sports Chalk
- 13:09Speaker 8: Show right after this. We agree on the idiot part, though.
- 13:14Speaker 9: Don't go away.
- 13:14Speaker 5: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby.
- 13:16Speaker 14: Is coming up next.
- 13:17Speaker 5: Returning military vets. They've served our country at home and abroad.
- 13:21Speaker 4: They've slept in tanks, foxholes.
- 13:25Speaker 5: And even out in the weather. They've had our backs. Now,
- 13:27Speaker 5: they've had our backs.
- 13:42Speaker 2: We have theirs.
- 13:43Speaker 7: The Sports Chalk Man of Honor, Mr.
- 13:44Speaker 15: Scott Holliday, CEO of Mattress Heroes USA, is giving back
- 13:48Speaker 15: to the vets by giving away a free mattress to
- 13:51Speaker 15: returning vets every single week on the Sports Chalk Show.
- 13:55Speaker 7: You had our backs. Now we have yours.
- 13:57Speaker 15: To register your returning vet, email heroes at thesportschalk.com or
- 14:02Speaker 15: visit mattressheroesusa.com.
- 14:04Speaker 7: And click on the Sports Chalk banner.

- 14:09Speaker 15: Mattress Heroes USA Vet of the Week. If your vet
- 14:12Speaker 15: is coming home within the next 90 days, write and
- 14:14Speaker 15: tell us why they should be the Mattress Heroes USA

- 14:29Speaker 16: Talking about guns with others might not always feel comfortable,
- 14:32Speaker 16: but it could save a life. Here's a way to
- 14:34Speaker 16: start a conversation. Your family is going over to your
- 14:36Speaker 16: neighbor's home for dinner for the first time. How would
- 14:39Speaker 16: you ask if there are any unlocked guns in the home?
- 14:41Speaker 5: Hey. Hey, we're so excited for tonight.
- 14:44Speaker 17: Before we come over, though, may I ask if there
- 14:46Speaker 17: are any unlocked guns in your home?
- 14:48Speaker 18: Our guns are stored securely, locked in a safe that
- 14:51Speaker 18: the kids can't access.
- 14:53Speaker 5: Awesome.
- 14:54Speaker 16: Learn how to have the conversation at agree2agree. org. Brought to
- 14:57Speaker 16: you by the Ad Council.
- 14:59Speaker 19: There's danger out there. It lurks on highways and quiet
- 15:02Speaker 19: neighborhood streets. It's more likely to kill you than a
- 15:05Speaker 19: shark and more terrifying than the biggest snake. Distracted driving
- 15:09Speaker 19: claims lives every day. Every notification, swipe, social post, video,
- 15:14Speaker 19: or selfie while driving risks your life. So while you
- 15:17Speaker 19: might think public speaking or the zombie apocalypse is scary,
- 15:20Speaker 19: what's really terrifying and even deadly is distracted driving.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Eyes forward.
- 15:26Speaker 19: Don't drive distracted. Brought to you by NHTSA and the
- 15:28Speaker 19: Ad Council.
- 15:31Speaker 5: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Ganty.
- 15:36Speaker 15: The Jock of the Day is sponsored by MattressHeroesUSA.com.
- 15:40Speaker 7: The sleep you deserve at a price you can afford.
- 15:43Speaker 15: Now, it's time to present the Jock of the Day
- 15:46Speaker 15: on the Sports Jock Show.
- 15:47Speaker 7: He's taken it to a completely different level this year.
- 15:50Speaker 15: Where we highlight an athlete that has taken their game
- 15:53Speaker 15: to the next level.
- 16:09Speaker 20: Welcome back to the.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports Shock Wayne Gandy.
- 16:23Speaker 8: I know some of you out there for a moment,
- 16:25Speaker 8: like the bad producer wanted to cancel Drake. But I'm
- 16:28Speaker 8: going to ride with him. The little young Thundercat. Remember
- 16:32Speaker 8: he tried to cancel him when.
- 16:33Speaker 5: They was in a little battle with Meek Mill because
- 16:35Speaker 5: he was on Meek Mill's side.
- 16:36Speaker 8: And then tried to go at him with Kendrick.
- 16:39Speaker 5: Then tried to bury him with Kendrick. Some people chose Gucci.
- 16:43Speaker 5: Some people chose G. We're not talking about Gucci. We're
- 16:45Speaker 5: talking about Drake. But we're talking about Drake.
- 16:49Speaker 8: And you chose a side. Now you're saying you didn't.
- 16:51Speaker 8: Run that bass line back, Commander.
- 16:53Speaker 5: You, Greg. Let Twitty know what time it is up
- 16:56Speaker 5: in here. Bad producer.
- 16:58Speaker 4: No, no, don't do it.
- 16:59Speaker 5: Now stay on your side.
- 17:01Speaker 21: No, no, no.
- 17:02Speaker 5: Don't bob your head. Metro Boomer.
- 17:05Speaker 8: No, no, no.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Don't be doing that. Hey, that's Georgia. Look how you're moving. Hey,
- 17:08Speaker 5: that's Georgia, baby. Hey, that ain't cancel culture.
- 17:13Speaker 12: He just put the words.
- 17:15Speaker 8: Welcome back to the show. Good morning to you out
- 17:18Speaker 8: there in listening land. NBA season is is off to
- 17:23Speaker 8: a fast start. We will talk about that in a second.
- 17:28Speaker 8: WNBA last night, the Dream taking a 2-1 lead over
- 17:32Speaker 8: the Valkyries. And right now, the Valkyries just don't have
- 17:35Speaker 8: an answer for Angel Reese's ability. And if you remember
- 17:40Speaker 8: a couple of months ago when I was saying if
- 17:43Speaker 8: Angel Reese would just slow down when she went to
- 17:46Speaker 8: shoot the ball, like just, you're there. Why are you
- 17:49Speaker 8: like still rushing? She would hit that 22, 25 mark
- 17:53Speaker 8: because she gets a lot of rebounds. When you get 10,
- 17:56Speaker 8: 12 rebounds a game, about six of those, she's right
- 17:59Speaker 8: up under the basket. She would just miss them because
- 18:02Speaker 8: she would be rushing it like she's 5'11 or 5'9
- 18:08Speaker 8: where she's 6'3. Scared somebody about to block her shot. Yeah,
- 18:11Speaker 8: just go up and put the ball in. And that's
- 18:13Speaker 8: what she's been doing in these last two games and
- 18:16Speaker 8: really driving things. her team to a victory to take
- 18:20Speaker 8: a two one. We left talking about Enos. You got
- 18:22Speaker 8: the church finger up. It's about Angel Reese.
- 18:25Speaker 5: You did.
- 18:26Speaker 11: And I wanted to preface what I'm about to say with,
- 18:29Speaker 11: I wanted to bring that up. When you said Angel
- 18:31Speaker 11: Reese playing like she five 11, just stretch your arms out,
- 18:35Speaker 11: slow down and you'll hit that. And now she's doing that.
- 18:38Speaker 11: And earlier you said like, she can't go to the right.
- 18:41Speaker 11: Is it to the right? She can't go to. So
- 18:43Speaker 11: all you got to do is get, but she still
- 18:46Speaker 11: go and she do the head fake and, Is that
- 18:49Speaker 11: the Jeff Teague-ness of Angel Reese?
- 18:52Speaker 5: Like when you see.
- 18:53Speaker 11: Her from where you at, everybody go, man, all you
- 18:56Speaker 11: got to do to stop her is butt.
- 18:59Speaker 5: Didn't you get on her?
- 19:00Speaker 11: And ain't no stopping her that way. Like maybe she's just...
- 19:04Speaker 11: Where's she at? Cause she just.
- 19:06Speaker 9: No, I'm not.
- 19:07Speaker 8: Well, I wasn't talking about me as Wayne Gandy Gardner.
- 19:11Speaker 8: I'm talking about another WNBA player. That's what I'm saying.
- 19:15Speaker 8: With all the information she got, she's unable.
- 19:17Speaker 5: To do it. Well, it's lazy. It's just like Ryan
- 19:20Speaker 5: Howard does not like to go left.
- 19:23Speaker 12: Okay.
- 19:23Speaker 8: And I literally see teams force her into that. She's
- 19:26Speaker 8: the other superstar for, and they, you can see her.
- 19:32Speaker 8: She'll even go over two steps dribbling to get around
- 19:37Speaker 8: with the right hand. Where I'm actually giving you the left,
- 19:41Speaker 8: she still will take the hard path. uh and i'm
- 19:44Speaker 8: not saying enough anything no no i was i was.
- 19:47Speaker 11: Going to ask you said that uh the coach hadn't
- 19:49Speaker 11: probably talked to the player garden angel reese we see
- 19:52Speaker 11: how the wnba is you think the players just like
- 19:56Speaker 11: the same way they are with the national anthem you
- 19:58Speaker 11: think they like that with their coach look i know
- 20:00Speaker 11: what i'm doing i'm gonna do what i want to
- 20:02Speaker 11: do anyway but the scouting report said It's a lack
- 20:06Speaker 11: of discipline, yeah. Like we showed you the scouting report. Yeah,
- 20:09Speaker 11: I know what you showed me.
- 20:10Speaker 5: And she goes right.
- 20:11Speaker 2: She left-handed, but she's going to go right.
- 20:13Speaker 11: And I'm saying, I don't stand for anthem, and I
- 20:17Speaker 11: don't listen to coaches.
- 20:18Speaker 2: She goes to the right.
- 20:20Speaker 5: And as Greg said, she's literally left-handed.
- 20:23Speaker 8: But her move is that she likes to go right
- 20:26Speaker 8: when she goes to the rim. So it just kept
- 20:31Speaker 8: happening last night. where it's like you're getting half the
- 20:34Speaker 8: job done. Now, why are you letting me do that?
- 20:38Speaker 8: But she's on fire right now and really taking advantage
- 20:41Speaker 8: of the one weakness the Valkyries do have is inside.
- 20:46Speaker 8: And that's what's so great to see the Dream and
- 20:48Speaker 8: any team when they start really exposing, as Greg said,
- 20:51Speaker 8: the scouting report. They're not shying away from y'all aren't
- 20:55Speaker 8: really good down low.
- 20:58Speaker 5: They have all the.
- 20:59Speaker 8: Guards and Gabby Williams and all those players, but they
- 21:02Speaker 8: don't really have, and that's where they're really beating them
- 21:05Speaker 8: up inside. But with the Enos Cantor, one thing, the
- 21:11Speaker 8: State Farm Arena, they are set up because they're in Atlanta.
- 21:15Speaker 8: They invite a lot of people, as you could see
- 21:17Speaker 8: at the game last night, from Monica to T.I. to–
- 21:23Speaker 8: little baby, different artists. We're a musical city. They always
- 21:27Speaker 8: have people. They have a VIP VIP lounge. They meet
- 21:33Speaker 8: all these people at, these people get access to the
- 21:37Speaker 8: players entrance. You come down, the security takes them to
- 21:44Speaker 8: the court. halftime, if they want to go to the
- 21:47Speaker 8: lounge area, they don't go to the Delta Club where
- 21:50Speaker 8: the season ticket holders are. They go back to a
- 21:53Speaker 8: private club that you would think was set up for
- 21:56Speaker 8: the owner where there's pool tables, there's a private bar.
- 22:00Speaker 8: So all that is what's delivered to remove them from
- 22:05Speaker 8: the crowd and to help State Farm with security.
- 22:10Speaker 11: We have an online comment from Uncle Charlie. He said,
- 22:12Speaker 11: could they have been concerned for the safety of the
- 22:15Speaker 11: fans and the team because his seat was on the floor,
- 22:19Speaker 11: so they offer him a more safe and less threat
- 22:22Speaker 11: to other face?
- 22:25Speaker 5: Like, that's why. Because if somebody coming after you, they
- 22:28Speaker 5: could very well. He's the one who thinks he's going
- 22:29Speaker 5: to be threatened.
- 22:30Speaker 11: Well, no, I'm saying if you, as we saw, in
- 22:35Speaker 11: the situation where someone attempted to take the president's life.
- 22:39Speaker 11: They missed the president. He was wounded, but another person
- 22:43Speaker 11: lost their life. When people are determined to harm other people,
- 22:47Speaker 11: sometimes there is what law enforcement and military people call
- 22:51Speaker 11: collateral damage. That usually results in the loss of life
- 22:54Speaker 11: of unintended victims. And that's what I think this comment
- 22:58Speaker 11: is about. If he, Enos Cantor, is in danger, then
- 23:03Speaker 11: surely people within arm's length of him are in danger
- 23:07Speaker 11: as well. So we want to move you somewhere where
- 23:09Speaker 11: we can keep you safe. But more importantly, keep these
- 23:12Speaker 11: folks that ain't got nothing to do with this.
- 23:14Speaker 5: Out of it.
- 23:15Speaker 8: And he didn't want that and that is great that
- 23:18Speaker 8: you have decided that that's your plan but i paid
- 23:22Speaker 8: my money and you can't make me leave yeah you
- 23:24Speaker 8: can't make me no you cannot you cannot in that
- 23:27Speaker 8: situation sure you can offer me the suite but if
- 23:31Speaker 8: i go but if i say i'm cool then i'm
- 23:34Speaker 8: cool then i am cool.
- 23:36Speaker 12: I paid my money and you gave all these other
- 23:37Speaker 12: people never mind i said i was cool To me,
- 23:41Speaker 12: that's an all of comps.
- 23:42Speaker 5: That's it.
- 23:43Speaker 8: You explained that you can't offer me whatever I'm asking,
- 23:46Speaker 8: and I still choose.
- 23:48Speaker 5: And the conversation is over at that point. That's it.
- 23:51Speaker 5: I said I was cool.
- 23:52Speaker 12: And whatever happens, happens. Because we got enough cameras here.
- 23:55Speaker 12: We're going to see who.
- 23:56Speaker 5: I said I was cool. We'll be back with more
- 23:59Speaker 5: of the Sports Chalk Show right after this.
- 24:05Speaker 20: As veterans, we're no strangers to helping others. That's what
- 24:10Speaker 20: we were taught, service before self.
- 24:14Speaker 5: But we do have.
- 24:17Speaker 10: One question for the veterans listening. When is the last
- 24:20Speaker 10: time you reached out for help?
- 24:35Speaker 22: If you or someone you know needs resources, whether it's
- 24:38Speaker 22: for stress, finances, employment, or mental health, don't wait.
- 24:43Speaker 9: Reach out.
- 24:44Speaker 23: Find more information at va.gov slash reach.

- 26:51Speaker 20: and my wreck is moving out the store.
- 26:55Speaker 8: Welcome back to the sports shop show i'm the sports
- 26:58Speaker 8: shop wayne candy good morning to you out there listening
- 27:02Speaker 8: when uh jay-z has decided that jay-z We'll do the
- 27:06Speaker 8: halftime show for the Super Bowl out in L.A.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Using his power to install himself.
- 27:13Speaker 8: And I don't think you will find anybody having an
- 27:16Speaker 8: issue with Hove doing the show. I'm quite sure a
- 27:21Speaker 8: lot of people from the time that the NFL got
- 27:25Speaker 8: in to bed with Roc Nation and Jay-Z to help
- 27:32Speaker 8: with the halftime show of the Super Bowl. Everybody's been
- 27:35Speaker 8: anticipating when this part would happen, not just for Jay-Z,
- 27:40Speaker 8: but people that he is connected to that they want
- 27:44Speaker 8: to see. Super Bowl will be on February the 14th, 2027,
- 27:51Speaker 8: out in L.A.
- 27:54Speaker 5: Sorry L.A.
- 27:55Speaker 8: Doesn't look like you're going to get that Charger team
- 27:57Speaker 8: in there. And if my Rams don't wake up with
- 28:01Speaker 8: the injuries that they have in that division, With San Francisco,
- 28:08Speaker 8: they might not even make the playoffs, especially now that
- 28:13Speaker 8: Devontae Adams will be out six to ten weeks. Their
- 28:17Speaker 8: star receiver in Miles Garrett is not back as of yet.
- 28:22Speaker 8: So they got a lot of work to just make
- 28:24Speaker 8: it to the playoffs.
- 28:28Speaker 11: I don't know if you've ever had a project to do.
- 28:33Speaker 11: And you be thinking, man, I'm going to knock this
- 28:36Speaker 11: out pretty quick. Then when you show up, they start
- 28:38Speaker 11: explaining stuff like that to you. Look, it's been raining
- 28:41Speaker 11: for three days, and the electrician didn't show up, so
- 28:44Speaker 11: we can't touch nothing for the first seven hours, and
- 28:47Speaker 11: then we don't have a tractor. And then you be like, man,
- 28:50Speaker 11: we ain't never going to get done with this.
- 28:52Speaker 2: I have a quick question about Devontae Adams' injury. If
- 28:55Speaker 2: he's out six to ten weeks– I don't know, that
- 28:59Speaker 2: just sounds like too much of a range because they're
- 29:01Speaker 2: going to wait six weeks and, like, he's going to
- 29:03Speaker 2: be out for another month. And who knows, like, what
- 29:09Speaker 2: would determine, like, if he's going to, at six weeks, okay,
- 29:13Speaker 2: I'm ready. Or, like, you know, they're anticipating him coming back.
- 29:19Speaker 2: But then after six weeks, if they're, like, two and ten,
- 29:22Speaker 2: then he's not going to come back.
- 29:25Speaker 8: Well, it's like any injury, especially a hamstring injury, For
- 29:29Speaker 8: what he, I know that he was diagnosed with, it
- 29:32Speaker 8: will take him minimum that long. The six weeks part
- 29:36Speaker 8: will be surprising. And they do this with all injuries.
- 29:40Speaker 8: They give you a window of when you should be able.
- 29:44Speaker 8: Patrick Mahomes was a little more ahead of schedule than
- 29:50Speaker 8: Michael Pennix because everybody heals different. Everybody's rehab takes differently. So,
- 29:57Speaker 8: and it's based on how frequently you have had problems
- 30:00Speaker 8: with that.
- 30:01Speaker 11: Is there any gamesmanship in that, in the revealing of
- 30:06Speaker 11: the estimated time? Like Comanche Greg actually going to be
- 30:10Speaker 11: ready in three weeks, but we say four to six
- 30:13Speaker 11: weeks to make them people think they ain't got to
- 30:15Speaker 11: prepare for him right now.
- 30:18Speaker 5: No, I think they are gauging four.
- 30:20Speaker 8: What they have on the books of someone else having
- 30:24Speaker 8: this injury and as fast as we might have seen
- 30:27Speaker 8: this come back is six weeks. But it could take
- 30:30Speaker 8: up to 10 weeks for this to actually heal based
- 30:35Speaker 8: on what he can, the pain and the tolerance and
- 30:38Speaker 8: how all these things and he dedicates himself to however
- 30:43Speaker 8: these things take.
- 30:44Speaker 5: Everything takes differently. I don't care what kind of, whether
- 30:48Speaker 5: it's a drug or whether it is the exercise.
- 30:52Speaker 12: Yeah, you got the treatment. He's got to be able
- 30:53Speaker 12: to get in there and get treatment.
- 30:55Speaker 5: And then you have to add his age in.
- 30:58Speaker 8: Devontae Adams is like 33.
- 31:01Speaker 5: 34 years old, somewhere in there. He's not like a
- 31:04Speaker 5: young guy.
- 31:04Speaker 8: So I'm giving you the six weeks is somebody that's 25.
- 31:09Speaker 8: The 10 weeks is somebody that's 35. But I don't
- 31:13Speaker 8: know how your healing process will go how much you
- 31:16Speaker 8: will let us push you how far you how much
- 31:19Speaker 8: pain you can endure for.
- 31:21Speaker 11: That to happen you've always made me aware of the
- 31:24Speaker 11: fact that like with quarterbacks some of them have certain
- 31:27Speaker 11: injuries and they can play with them because of it's
- 31:30Speaker 11: just a lateral motion it's side side something like that
- 31:33Speaker 11: but uh do different positions recover at different rates like
- 31:38Speaker 11: if you're an old lineman do you recover faster than
- 31:40Speaker 11: a wide receiver would for the same injury Or is
- 31:44Speaker 11: it because of your muscles responsibility going to take you
- 31:47Speaker 11: longer because I got to do this with my thighs.
- 31:50Speaker 5: All he got to do is run. Yeah.
- 31:51Speaker 8: You talk about a receiver. Most of them have lower
- 31:55Speaker 8: body fat. When you look at them, they're at that
- 31:59Speaker 8: maybe nine, eight, nine percent body fat.
- 32:03Speaker 6: Right.
- 32:03Speaker 8: So they're pulling full muscle. They don't have no lubrication.
- 32:07Speaker 8: Inside the muscle. Ain't got no marbling. Yeah, no marbling
- 32:11Speaker 8: in the muscle.
- 32:12Speaker 5: They're just pulling straight up muscle tissue. Right, right.
- 32:16Speaker 8: So all that indifference and based on what that injury is,
- 32:20Speaker 8: like it's ACL versus a receiver having that or a
- 32:29Speaker 8: DB is different than a quarterback because a quarterback can limit.
- 32:35Speaker 8: Kirk Cousins being back with that Achilles, if that was
- 32:39Speaker 8: another position, they might have needed another month or six
- 32:42Speaker 8: weeks because they need to actually hold weight up. I'm
- 32:47Speaker 8: trying to push 320 pounds with my Achilles. Kirk is
- 32:51Speaker 8: just moving back seven yards and moving up, you know,
- 32:55Speaker 8: and he can kind of manage it. There's just certain
- 32:58Speaker 8: things that you can't. We've seen guys play with like
- 33:01Speaker 8: an MCL sprain. and be able to brace it up.
- 33:04Speaker 8: But that's based on what position. MCLs and things like
- 33:08Speaker 8: that don't allow for a lot of lateral movement.
- 33:13Speaker 5: That's a lot of lateral strain that you put on
- 33:15Speaker 5: your knee. So as a lineman, it might not be
- 33:17Speaker 5: something you can play with. Whereas somewhere else, you can
- 33:22Speaker 5: get away with it, just going forward and back. So
- 33:25Speaker 5: Devontae Adams is out. But with Jay-Z, guys, you're looking
- 33:29Speaker 5: forward to Super Bowl halftime. What do you think Jager
- 33:31Speaker 5: can do other than.
- 33:33Speaker 8: The obvious, maybe have Beyonce come out, but do you
- 33:36Speaker 8: think he's just going to bring all his friends?
- 33:38Speaker 11: Young'uns, ice grilling me. Oh, you're not feeling me fine.
- 33:42Speaker 11: Cost you nothing. Pay me no mind.
- 33:44Speaker 8: He could do the whole show by himself, but he
- 33:46Speaker 8: doesn't have the, he's not flashlights and attraction.
- 33:52Speaker 11: He's content. He's got the content. He's got the body
- 33:56Speaker 11: of work. hits after hits, but will you sit here
- 34:00Speaker 11: and watch him sidestep for 15 minutes and just, you know,
- 34:06Speaker 11: do the cool thing and have somebody repeat him? That's
- 34:09Speaker 11: not what we've become accustomed to with Super Bowl halftime show.
- 34:13Speaker 8: Greg, how much of it has been that he's already
- 34:15Speaker 8: had these select shows he's been doing around the world.
- 34:19Speaker 2: And he's prepared? Yeah, I think that was the warm-up
- 34:22Speaker 2: to this. He probably decided this.
- 34:25Speaker 11: When he closed Yankee Stadium. Or when he did the
- 34:29Speaker 11: Roots picnic.
- 34:31Speaker 2: That's when he's like, okay, this is the warm-up to
- 34:35Speaker 2: get on stage again and people will be ready. So
- 34:39Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, the Super Bowl has a
- 34:42Speaker 2: real can't look like not the Roots picnic. Maybe the–
- 34:46Speaker 2: I haven't seen really the Yankee Stadium shows.
- 34:49Speaker 5: But there has to be some kind of spectacle. And
- 34:52Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 34:54Speaker 2: I think that he is limited as a performer only
- 35:00Speaker 2: because like, it's not what, what's the, what's the rest
- 35:04Speaker 2: of the show going to look like? Because his shows
- 35:06Speaker 2: have just been like him on stage. So we know
- 35:11Speaker 2: that he will make it the show.
- 35:13Speaker 5: We know that he will.
- 35:14Speaker 12: Have a, a, probably a band, the roots band, or
- 35:18Speaker 12: in prior concerts, he had Timbaland as his MD.
- 35:21Speaker 5: And then there's, The other 1,500 or nothing.
- 35:24Speaker 12: So we should expect to see a live instrumentation along
- 35:29Speaker 12: with him and the guests.
- 35:31Speaker 11: This is something I also wonder about is he's been
- 35:34Speaker 11: involved in all of the halftime.
- 35:36Speaker 5: Performances, and we've seen.
- 35:39Speaker 11: a lot of the spectacle that when it was Dr.
- 35:44Speaker 11: Dre and Eminem and 50 Cent, then when Beyonce came
- 35:48Speaker 11: out with flying cars and all of this, we've seen
- 35:52Speaker 11: these things incorporated into shows before. So we can't repeat
- 35:56Speaker 11: that stuff because this is, you know, people are critical
- 36:00Speaker 11: in their judgment and these are going to be advertising dollars.
- 36:04Speaker 11: I think one of the things that he was strategic
- 36:06Speaker 11: about is, is waiting until all of the willingness to
- 36:10Speaker 11: put in the advertising money and do the streaming attachments
- 36:13Speaker 11: was solidified.
- 36:15Speaker 2: There's going to be some kind of aesthetic.
- 36:19Speaker 5: With Dr.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Dre, it was about L.A. And with Kendrick, it was
- 36:26Speaker 2: the video game. With Bad Bunny, it was about Puerto Rico.
- 36:30Speaker 2: So there has to be some theme or.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Something with it to make it a show because not
- 36:37Speaker 2: only is it being seen by people around the world,
- 36:39Speaker 2: in the stadium.
- 36:40Speaker 8: It's gotta look like something. Does he have a big
- 36:42Speaker 8: hit with any artists out of L.A.? Yeah, he.
- 36:45Speaker 12: Wrote all the, that's why I was gonna say that
- 36:48Speaker 12: they've already got people crying about that he didn't pick
- 36:50Speaker 12: an L.A. artist, but he wrote the whole just about
- 36:53Speaker 12: the album with Dr. Dre's album that won Oh, no,
- 36:56Speaker 12: Snoop Dogg. He got a lot of writing credits.
- 37:00Speaker 5: All he has to do. So he can bring them out. Well,
- 37:02Speaker 5: hold on, because you didn't answer my question. Yeah, he
- 37:04Speaker 5: can bring. You said he wrote. Does he have a
- 37:07Speaker 5: hit where he actually performed? Run this town tonight. No,
- 37:12Speaker 5: with an L.A. artist. Oh, no. With an L.A.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Artist.
- 37:15Speaker 11: I'm sorry, because I was going to say just the
- 37:16Speaker 11: biggest artist, Kanye and Ree, but a Los Angeles artist?
- 37:23Speaker 5: You know, to give that little bit of... To give
- 37:25Speaker 5: that spark.
- 37:27Speaker 11: I mean, is it one of those remixes where he
- 37:30Speaker 11: does it with a rock band?
- 37:30Speaker 12: Well, I said the only thing you can do is
- 37:31Speaker 12: like when he... The songs that he make that have.
- 37:35Speaker 5: Been platinum hits. He did a remix of a song
- 37:36Speaker 5: with Kendrick a long time ago.
- 37:37Speaker 8: I mean, with Bad Producer. Yeah, I realized something. You
- 37:40Speaker 8: and Comanche Gregg. are educated as DJs, me as the fan,
- 37:48Speaker 8: I'm not understanding why Dre is on the stage. Because
- 37:53Speaker 8: I don't remember that hit. Yeah, he don't remember when...
- 37:56Speaker 8: You're telling me that he wrote it.
- 37:57Speaker 6: Right.
- 37:58Speaker 5: He wrote Still D.R.E.
- 37:59Speaker 2: He ghost wrote Still D.R.E. for Dr.
- 38:01Speaker 9: Dre.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Right.
- 38:02Speaker 8: But most people want to know a song that you perform.
- 38:08Speaker 13: Right.
- 38:08Speaker 2: And I'm saying.
- 38:09Speaker 5: You're a DJ. I'm in entertainment.
- 38:12Speaker 11: And I didn't know he ghost wrote Steel Dre.
- 38:16Speaker 5: I didn't even know that.
- 38:18Speaker 8: Jodeci doesn't pull Missy Elliott out on the stage for
- 38:22Speaker 8: the song she wrote for them.
- 38:24Speaker 15: No.
- 38:25Speaker 5: And you just taught me that too. She ruined a
- 38:27Speaker 5: couple of them. Exactly. That's what she said, Puff. I
- 38:31Speaker 5: run that money, Puff.
- 38:32Speaker 8: And that's what I mean. Why Missy out there? Oh,
- 38:35Speaker 8: it's Jodeci. I'm saying, but why Missy out there? I
- 38:38Speaker 8: made my money, Puff. We'll be back right after this.

- 41:31Speaker 27: Oh, log on so you can see the sports J-O-C,
- 41:35Speaker 27: even Big Candy. Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show.
- 41:40Speaker 8: I'm the Sports Talk Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you
- 41:42Speaker 8: out there in listening land. It's been a very energetic
- 41:45Speaker 8: hour here to start the show off. A lot of
- 41:48Speaker 8: conversation about Enos Cantor freedom in the WNBA. We left
- 41:53Speaker 8: off talking about Jay-Z and that situation. And I think
- 41:58Speaker 8: also with Enos Cantor, as we've been talking about it,
- 42:01Speaker 8: some of I think what he was trying to do
- 42:03Speaker 8: was also we have to realize we live in a
- 42:08Speaker 8: LGBTQ city. So some of that definitely put an alert
- 42:14Speaker 8: that he understands the hostility of the crowd. that he
- 42:18Speaker 8: was going to walk in, not that the LGBTQ community
- 42:22Speaker 8: is completely for what he's talking about, which is transgender,
- 42:27Speaker 8: but he was very aware of the arena in which
- 42:31Speaker 8: he walked into. We talked about Jay-Z in the halftime
- 42:35Speaker 8: of this year's Super Bowl out in L.A. on Valentine's Day.
- 42:39Speaker 8: Yay or nay? Does Kanye come out and perform a
- 42:44Speaker 8: song with Jay-Z at the Super Bowl, bad producer.
- 42:48Speaker 13: Yes.
- 42:48Speaker 5: Yeah or nay? Yes?
- 42:49Speaker 10: Yes.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Comanche? They should, but nay. Yeah or no?
- 42:55Speaker 28: No.
- 42:56Speaker 5: Nah, nah, nah. Yeah. Nah, nah, nah.
- 43:01Speaker 19: Church.
- 43:02Speaker 5: Nah, nah, nah. I'm going to go with yay. Easy.
- 43:07Speaker 25: Easy.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Yay.
- 43:08Speaker 5: That's going to be bigger than Beyonce.
- 43:10Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 43:11Speaker 5: Period. That's bigger than Beyonce. I hope it does. With
- 43:14Speaker 5: his mask on and his super weirdness. I don't know.
- 43:17Speaker 8: He going to have a mask on. His shirt will
- 43:19Speaker 8: be off. He's going to be waved.
- 43:22Speaker 5: No, you got to have the boots on. The big
- 43:23Speaker 5: thick fur boots. I'm saying thick fur. The moon boots.
- 43:25Speaker 11: The moon boots with pants. Bad body, no shirt. Blue
- 43:29Speaker 11: Ivy behind him with.
- 43:33Speaker 11: Uh, North and her doing a choreographed dance and him
- 43:39Speaker 11: with the mask on rapping verse clear. I'm talking about
- 43:44Speaker 11: still got the flow. Then he'll bus out into a
- 43:48Speaker 11: college dropout. One song, do half of it and then
- 43:52Speaker 11: disappear for about six years. And they'll sell that stream.
- 43:56Speaker 11: I got something about 80 billion to what?
- 43:58Speaker 8: Some kind of way, blue Ivy and Northwest, uh, end
- 44:04Speaker 8: up on the stage with their dads.
- 44:06Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. They do the song, one of
- 44:09Speaker 2: their songs. They do one of Jay-Z and Kanye's songs.
- 44:13Speaker 8: You mean she come out as her dad rapping his verse?
- 44:22Speaker 5: And the other daughter comes out. How old is Rihanna's kid?
- 44:25Speaker 5: How old is Rihanna's kid? She's not old enough. They
- 44:28Speaker 5: got two. They got 22, three. They got about two
- 44:31Speaker 5: and three. That oldest kid is about nine.
- 44:34Speaker 15: Nine?
- 44:35Speaker 5: That's good. Oh! Hold on now.
- 44:38Speaker 6: Nine?
- 44:39Speaker 5: My daddy had me on the base at nine years old.
- 44:42Speaker 5: I'm just saying.
- 44:42Speaker 12: I'm just saying.
- 44:43Speaker 5: Northwest come out. They doing the ends in pairs. Yeah.
- 44:47Speaker 8: And.
- 44:49Speaker 5: Beans don't lie. And they're back, you know.
- 44:52Speaker 8: Why can't the nine-year-old go run some town tonight?
- 45:00Speaker 5: Come on, man. It's limitless. It's limitless. Of what they
- 45:04Speaker 5: could be putting out there. Jay-Z's a mad genius.
- 45:07Speaker 8: Josh Jacobs for the Packers is going to be allowed
- 45:11Speaker 8: back this weekend to play. Guys, why in the short window?
- 45:16Speaker 8: since the Ray Rice of Baltimore incident, has society decided
- 45:23Speaker 8: that the Josh Jacobs of the Green Bay Packers, who
- 45:27Speaker 8: was charged and pled guilty to reduce charges, pled guilty
- 45:33Speaker 8: to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property. His charges
- 45:39Speaker 8: were higher than that when he was charged. And he
- 45:45Speaker 8: pled guilty. If you remember, Ray Rice was charged with
- 45:49Speaker 8: felony aggravated assault. But those charges were actually dropped. And
- 45:55Speaker 8: he never pled guilty. He was basically banished and blackballed. Initially,
- 46:00Speaker 8: he was only suspended two games. But as you know,
- 46:04Speaker 8: Ray Rice was never allowed back to an NFL field.
- 46:10Speaker 8: Josh Jacobs will be back. Why in that short window
- 46:15Speaker 8: of 12 years, Ray Rice incident happened in 2014. Josh
- 46:20Speaker 8: Jacobs happened this year.
- 46:22Speaker 5: Why is it.
- 46:24Speaker 8: That Josh Jacobs will be getting the ball on Sunday
- 46:34Speaker 8: for the Packers?
- 46:36Speaker 5: Honest answer.
- 46:38Speaker 11: Because 12 years ago, uh, The world wasn't ready to
- 46:43Speaker 11: accept that this ain't that and that ain't this. Your
- 46:47Speaker 11: relationship with your wife ain't got nothing to do with
- 46:49Speaker 11: your job on the field.
- 46:51Speaker 5: I mean, I get it. I get it. I get it.
- 46:53Speaker 11: I get it. It looked bad, but we have a
- 46:57Speaker 11: judicial system to handle it. What did the judge say?
- 47:01Speaker 5: Okay.
- 47:02Speaker 9: Okay.
- 47:03Speaker 5: Well, lay ball, sir. Was there video footage?
- 47:08Speaker 8: There was some surveillance system at Jacob's house that caught
- 47:15Speaker 8: some of the imagery, but it was never, I guess
- 47:19Speaker 8: it was just shown in court or whatever, of whatever happened.
- 47:23Speaker 5: Okay, so it's not public. Not that I know of, no.
- 47:27Speaker 5: I think that's a major part of it. That's the
- 47:29Speaker 5: key of it. Bad producer?
- 47:30Speaker 12: Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out how in this
- 47:33Speaker 12: age of, You were seeing Ray Rice. At that time,
- 47:36Speaker 12: it would have been, he possibly got back in. Now,
- 47:39Speaker 12: it seems like it will be hard. Like, everybody protesting,
- 47:43Speaker 12: knocking down the doors. Oh, no, a Green Bay's game.
- 47:47Speaker 11: Well, I think the difference is, when we saw it
- 47:50Speaker 11: happen with Ray Rice, it was.
- 47:53Speaker 5: But you know.
- 47:54Speaker 11: No, no, I'm saying... You're saying that he's been charged.
- 47:57Speaker 11: And when I say when we saw it happen with
- 47:59Speaker 11: Ray Rice, when we saw them.
- 48:03Speaker 11: See Ray Rice and his wife have a domestic incident
- 48:06Speaker 11: and that turned into him being banned from the NFL.
- 48:09Speaker 11: Those kinds of incidents were limited to celebrities and athletes.
- 48:14Speaker 11: Then 12 years later, We see regular old bus drivers
- 48:19Speaker 11: getting to it with his wife on the corner. And
- 48:21Speaker 11: now the Internet searching him and getting him canceled from
- 48:24Speaker 11: his job and all. And people are thinking, wait, wait,
- 48:26Speaker 11: maybe we open the door too far. Maybe people don't
- 48:29Speaker 11: deserve to lose their jobs forever for one bad judgment.
- 48:34Speaker 11: Look at the rest of the stuff we let slide.
- 48:36Speaker 5: Yeah, but we're firing people over verbiage. I'm saying, I'm saying,
- 48:40Speaker 5: and maybe that's going too far.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Maybe we need to pull.
- 48:44Speaker 5: Yeah, we fired the guy from high school.
- 48:47Speaker 11: For some he said when he was 15, but they haven't,
- 48:52Speaker 11: and this is going to be unpopular, racism will never
- 48:56Speaker 11: move forward in its ideologies. Everything else, the way people
- 49:01Speaker 11: view sexuality and gender identity and all of those things
- 49:06Speaker 11: have evolved in 12 years. Racism will always be racism
- 49:11Speaker 11: because it's a hot button topic and the people who
- 49:13Speaker 11: benefit from pushing that narrative will never let it mature ever.
- 49:19Speaker 8: Very surprised that the nfl uh only four games uh
- 49:24Speaker 8: domestic violence for josh jacobs i understand you learned that
- 49:28Speaker 8: you overreach maybe but how do you handle ray rice
- 49:33Speaker 8: uh but for a lot of other Four games for
- 49:36Speaker 8: domestic violence, and you're giving those same four games for
- 49:40Speaker 8: a PED. Does that seem equal? With just a minute ago.
- 49:45Speaker 8: We'll be back with more of the Sports Jock Show

- 50:11Speaker 23: but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is killing people.
- 50:14Speaker 23: It's a powerful opioid, often made illegally and commonly mixed
- 50:17Speaker 23: with illicit drugs. It can even be pressed into counterfeit
- 50:21Speaker 23: pills that resemble prescription medications. Just two milligrams, about the
- 50:25Speaker 23: size of a few grains of sand, can potentially be lethal.
- 50:28Speaker 23: This isn't an ad to scare you, but it is

- 54:04Speaker 8: on my Stiller Nation. 9.30 Sunday morning.
- 54:09Speaker 5: And if you love.
- 54:10Speaker 8: High school football, please tune in tomorrow, 730 GPB. I
- 54:14Speaker 8: got a good one for you that I'll be calling
- 54:17Speaker 8: the 8-0 Carrollton Trojans, ranked as high as number eight
- 54:22Speaker 8: in the country, taking on Pac-Man Jones, Cam Newton, the
- 54:28Speaker 8: Terrell brothers that play for the Falcons, Westlake. And over
- 54:33Speaker 8: the years, without you even knowing, there's been years where
- 54:36Speaker 8: Westlake has had up to eight Ten players in the NFL.
- 54:40Speaker 8: Last Sunday, you didn't really know between the Terrell brothers
- 54:44Speaker 8: and the two players on the Ravens, which they almost
- 54:49Speaker 8: need to call themselves DBU because they can put some
- 54:52Speaker 8: DBs in the league now. Westlake at 6-1. Both of
- 54:57Speaker 8: these teams are top five in scoring in 7A, so
- 55:00Speaker 8: should be a lot of points. I think Carrollton scores. Well,
- 55:04Speaker 8: I don't think I know. 56 points a game. And
- 55:08Speaker 8: Westlake puts up 46.8 points a game.
- 55:12Speaker 5: So it could get out of hand. It could just
- 55:14Speaker 5: be that.
- 55:16Speaker 1: That.
- 55:16Speaker 2: First team to 100.
- 55:17Speaker 5: Go win.
- 55:19Speaker 8: Kind of game. But Kenny, we got a little traction online.
- 55:23Speaker 11: Our online list is always checking in with a sports jock.
- 55:27Speaker 11: And Keith Ramsey checked in this morning. He had a question.
- 55:30Speaker 11: He said, with Jay-Z performing the halftime show, are you
- 55:33Speaker 11: looking– forward to the game itself, the halftime show, or
- 55:38Speaker 11: the commercials? Which one will be your preference this year?
- 55:42Speaker 11: We've seen some games. I remember a couple of seasons ago,
- 55:47Speaker 11: it was the Chiefs and somebody else, and people were
- 55:51Speaker 11: more excited about the halftime show than they were the
- 55:53Speaker 11: actual game.
- 55:54Speaker 8: I'm 100% all about the game. You could keep the commercials.
- 55:59Speaker 8: You could keep halftime. I really don't care about those things.
- 56:04Speaker 8: My crowd that I typically watch, they demand the halftime show.
- 56:10Speaker 8: I've been to Jay-Z concerts and all that is cool.
- 56:13Speaker 8: I mean, the NFL threw the dice against the wall,
- 56:17Speaker 8: came up with another way to suck you in, whether
- 56:20Speaker 8: you're a fan of the teams or not, because that's
- 56:22Speaker 8: who they were trying to make sure they got to watch.
- 56:25Speaker 8: When your team's not in it, I'm going to still
- 56:27Speaker 8: give you some reason to watch it.
- 56:30Speaker 5: Right.
- 56:31Speaker 8: And that's what they did with the halftime show. But
- 56:34Speaker 8: I'm a purist. I like the game and I want
- 56:37Speaker 8: a great game. That was my answer to the game.
- 56:40Speaker 8: Do you ever feel peer pressure to enjoy the halftime show?
- 56:43Speaker 8: You ever just been sitting there waiting on the game
- 56:45Speaker 8: to come back and people be.
- 56:46Speaker 5: Like, man, you need to be more excited. Well, I
- 56:49Speaker 5: think last year with Bad Bunny, there was a lot
- 56:52Speaker 5: of pressure for you to. embrace an artist you don't know.
- 56:58Speaker 5: And I didn't have a knock against Bad Bunny. I
- 57:00Speaker 5: just didn't know his music.
- 57:02Speaker 8: And that doesn't mean that he couldn't, like he was
- 57:05Speaker 8: the number one artist in the world.
- 57:07Speaker 5: But that doesn't mean that everybody's music, and I'm more
- 57:11Speaker 5: of a performer-based person. I think the halftime show should
- 57:15Speaker 5: always be the Usher type, the Beyonce type, the people who,
- 57:19Speaker 5: they're performers. Rap concerts are hard, like we were just discussing.
- 57:25Speaker 5: Hard to translate into spectacle.
- 57:27Speaker 8: Kendrick Lamar's halftime did not necessarily thrill me because that's
- 57:32Speaker 8: not what rap does. I'm always about any artist, the Pinks,
- 57:37Speaker 8: the Lady Gagas, that's what they do anyway. They already
- 57:41Speaker 8: got people jumping on high wires.
- 57:43Speaker 5: Right, right, right. In clown suits. In clown suits.
- 57:48Speaker 11: And our good friend Donnie Brown said, thanks for the question,
- 57:52Speaker 11: Sports Jock, about Josh Jacobs. Now, I wanted to ask
- 57:56Speaker 11: you about that, too. You said that you thought four
- 57:58Speaker 11: games wasn't enough. Now, I would imagine, just like with
- 58:04Speaker 11: the earlier Enos Cantor, once he said, this is settled
- 58:08Speaker 11: with me, they– deemed it for themselves that that wasn't
- 58:14Speaker 11: good enough for them. Him being satisfied didn't satisfy them.
- 58:18Speaker 11: The law being satisfied, the NFL being satisfied that this
- 58:22Speaker 11: is enough, why does that not satisfy the fans? Well,
- 58:26Speaker 11: I didn't say it didn't satisfy the fans. Well, you personally,
- 58:29Speaker 11: why does that not satisfy you that they've.
- 58:31Speaker 5: Worked it out?
- 58:32Speaker 8: Because I want to eradicate something that I know that
- 58:35Speaker 8: most of the time it's completely in your control. hitting
- 58:39Speaker 8: another person is completely in your control, especially if you
- 58:45Speaker 8: want as far as pleading guilty to it. If somebody
- 58:50Speaker 8: hit you first and you hit them back, then there
- 58:53Speaker 8: probably are no charges or you can prove that that
- 58:56Speaker 8: was the instigating of it.
- 58:58Speaker 5: Right, right. You actually hitting someone. Because you can't control
- 59:02Speaker 5: your emotions. It's your control.
- 59:04Speaker 9: Right, right.
- 59:05Speaker 8: Well, I need to let it be known around the
- 59:07Speaker 8: league that that's eight games then. Now, let's see if
- 59:11Speaker 8: that helps you control yourself.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 59:15Speaker 8: Make better decisions. Get you a plan together. They give
- 59:19Speaker 8: all the scenarios at the beginning of the year. They
- 59:22Speaker 8: have actors and actresses come in and they put on
- 59:26Speaker 8: different schemes and different situations where you might find yourself
- 59:32Speaker 8: in some kind of tension with family members, with your wife,
- 59:37Speaker 8: with your girlfriend, and how to react. You think they're
- 59:40Speaker 8: just putting those on for jokes? Because it don't happen, right.
- 59:43Speaker 8: So Josh Jacobs and the people, four games, eight games,
- 59:49Speaker 8: eight missed checks. You're making $ 40 million this year and
- 59:54Speaker 8: $ 20 million of it you don't get? I think I'm
- 59:58Speaker 8: just going to move. Girl, leave me alone. I'm just
- 1:00:01Speaker 8: going to move.
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: Go get out of my face. You are right. You crazy.
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: You talking about? You are right.
- 1:00:09Speaker 8: I don't even need that cell phone back for $ 20 million.
- 1:00:12Speaker 9: $ 20 million.
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: I'm going to move. Hey, could you call me an
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: Uber on my phone so I can get up out
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: of here?
- 1:00:18Speaker 11: And move to someplace I can afford. Because I can
- 1:00:21Speaker 11: afford a lot of places. But I'm not going to
- 1:00:24Speaker 11: lose all of that because I can't keep my hands
- 1:00:26Speaker 11: off you.
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: And we'll be back with more of the Sports Jock
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: Show right after this. I actually drive better when I'm high.
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: If anything, I'm more careful.
- 1:00:52Speaker 29: That's probably what the driver who killed a four-year-old told himself.
- 1:00:55Speaker 29: And now he's in prison. If you feel different, you
- 1:00:58Speaker 29: drive different. Don't drive high. Brought to you by NHTSA
- 1:01:01Speaker 29: and the Ad Council.
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance.
- 1:01:06Speaker 15: Three-quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:01:09Speaker 15: of financial security, yet only 49% actually have life insurance.
- 1:01:14Speaker 30: When I was 25, me and my wife were just
- 1:01:16Speaker 30: getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:01:18Speaker 30: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 1:01:20Speaker 7: What about you? Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:01:23Speaker 30: When I was 40, with a kid in college and
- 1:01:25Speaker 30: bills piling up, I was worried how my family would
- 1:01:27Speaker 30: survive without me. That's when I made an appointment with
- 1:01:29Speaker 30: the insurance informant.
- 1:01:31Speaker 15: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family security,
- 1:01:34Speaker 15: no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:01:36Speaker 30: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:01:38Speaker 30: leave my family with bills or benefits.
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: The answer is easy.
- 1:01:41Speaker 15: Whether you're 25 or 50, whether you earn a little
- 1:01:44Speaker 15: or a lot, all you need is the insurance informant
- 1:01:47Speaker 15: to help you build a foundation of security. Because without you,
- 1:01:50Speaker 15: your family will have two options, benefits or bills.
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: Which legacy will you leave behind? Log on today. BenefitsOrBills.com.
- 1:01:59Speaker 7: That's BenefitsOrBills.com.
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: Enough is enough!
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: I have had enough!
- 1:02:09Speaker 7: Why so serious?
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: And we hold the world ransom for Wayne Gandy.
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: Excuse me while I whip this out. Broadcasting live in Atlanta, Georgia. This,
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: this is the Sports Chalk Show.
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: With Wayne Gandy. You may build me up.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Build me up, yeah. Yeah, you build me up, yeah.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: But you won't break me down. I've come too far.
- 1:02:33Speaker 9: I'm too far, yeah.
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I've come too far, yeah.
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: So just throw.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: In the towel. Hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 1:02:40Speaker 6: It's a new day.
- 1:02:41Speaker 9: I'm a, I'm a doobie.
- 1:02:42Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna go all the way.
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: You may build me up. Welcome back to the show.
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: I'm the Sports Shock, Wayne Candy. Good morning to you.
- 1:02:52Speaker 8: A great weekend of sports lined up again. Football season
- 1:02:55Speaker 8: just keeps delivering. Thursday night football, 4-2 versus 4-2. A
- 1:03:01Speaker 8: quality game with two quarterbacks and two organizations. The Patriots
- 1:03:07Speaker 8: just was in the Super Bowl last year.
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: Lost to the Seahawks.
- 1:03:10Speaker 8: I know it seems like that was 20 years ago,
- 1:03:12Speaker 8: but they did make it back to the Super Bowl.
- 1:03:14Speaker 8: And the Bears with Caleb Williams and those guys really
- 1:03:17Speaker 8: trying to change the mindset and the winning ways in Chicago.
- 1:03:23Speaker 8: And the World Series kicking off tomorrow, as I said.
- 1:03:26Speaker 8: The Dream will take on the Valkyries once again on
- 1:03:30Speaker 8: Saturday at 3.30.
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: Y'all be making it hard on.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: You, don't you?
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: What time Saturday?
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: I think it starts at 1.
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: Oh, that's even worse. That's Auburn.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: They're trying to play both.
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: Oh, I'll be at the Auburn game. I can't even
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: catch any of that.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: Dream and Hawks both playing. I'll just be checking the score.
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: The Dream and the Hawks both played last night.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: Well, no, they're both playing at State Farm on Saturday.
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: At State Farm. Okay, I was going to say they
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: both played last night. That was the exception that they
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: had to make to fit them in. Is it going
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: to be a one o'clock game?
- 1:04:05Speaker 8: On a Saturday football Saturday, it's just tough to get
- 1:04:10Speaker 8: a real audience from viewership. You know, you're going to
- 1:04:15Speaker 8: get your fans that are going.
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: To the game.
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: But the viewership part is just hard on a daytime
- 1:04:23Speaker 8: on Saturday.
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out why aren't they playing Friday,
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: even though it's Friday night? Like, why aren't they playing?
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: How come I can't play on Saturday?
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: Why can't it be Saturday afternoon?
- 1:04:34Speaker 8: Well, we got to look to see if State Farm
- 1:04:36Speaker 8: is booked Friday night. Maybe they have a concert or something.
- 1:04:40Speaker 11: Doja Cat says she ain't giving up but one concert.
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: Let me look right here real quick. State Farm Arena
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: with the tap. Thursday tonight, they have somebody named Sumber.
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: Yeah, because the game was going to, game three was
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: going to be tonight, but they were able to move it.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: back one day to Wednesday.
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: So Sombra and then, nope. Right now, from what I'm
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: looking at, Greg, you're right. There's nothing on Friday night.
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: I told you. Who are we doing? I told you.
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: The WNBA has a identity match.
- 1:05:18Speaker 11: Issue where I demand you want to see me as
- 1:05:25Speaker 11: much as I think I deserve to be seen.
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: I'll keep getting in a slot. But LSU playing Auburn.
- 1:05:32Speaker 8: What does that mean to female basketball fans? That means
- 1:05:36Speaker 8: that as a sports jock, as much as he would
- 1:05:39Speaker 8: like to see the dream play in the Valkyries, there
- 1:05:43Speaker 8: will be like 100,000 people that will be at the stadium,
- 1:05:49Speaker 8: that all these stadiums feel.
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: And that makes them sexist. Think about it.
- 1:05:54Speaker 8: They're taking all those people away from, and I'm talking
- 1:05:57Speaker 8: about the college fan is not like the pro fan.
- 1:06:02Speaker 8: The pro fan sits there with their phone in hand.
- 1:06:05Speaker 8: College fan is still kind of a little more old school.
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: Yeah, just watching the game. They got a beer and
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: a little something in their hand. And I'm going to
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: be disappeared for three hours. That doesn't feel different. You
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: ever notice that? The college fan be full participating. When
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: they say white out or black out, they really be.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: Do you remember?
- 1:06:27Speaker 8: I'm like, dang, I ain't getting email. I'm in here
- 1:06:30Speaker 8: just in all purple. And if you're not wearing it, yeah.
- 1:06:33Speaker 8: And they looking at me, and you be feeling some
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: kind of way like, dang, man, I'm almost all out of.
- 1:06:37Speaker 8: Social media will let you know.
- 1:06:39Speaker 11: But do you remember when the WNBA was complaining about
- 1:06:42Speaker 11: equity and they had smaller exercise facilities and all of that?
- 1:06:46Speaker 11: with female sports, then I believe that's when they started
- 1:06:50Speaker 11: trying to know and we want equal time slots too.
- 1:06:56Speaker 11: And the truth of the matter is ain't nobody finna
- 1:06:58Speaker 11: turn to WNBA. And can we touch this too?
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: Greg is right.
- 1:07:01Speaker 8: They could have moved to Friday and then just added
- 1:07:04Speaker 8: an extra day of rest because this is the best
- 1:07:07Speaker 8: of seven series, right? So as we go back to California,
- 1:07:13Speaker 8: then we'll play Friday and we will play game five
- 1:07:16Speaker 8: and Tuesday. But at least I would have gotten you
- 1:07:21Speaker 8: a true open window where your only competitor would have
- 1:07:24Speaker 8: been small market World Series.
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: And high school football.
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: And high school football. But they insist on going against
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: college football and the NFL.
- 1:07:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: Phil, I don't know.
- 1:07:39Speaker 12: Let's make sure that we do, as Atlanta fans, for
- 1:07:42Speaker 12: the dream. I know we're selling out.
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: Hold on, hold on, hold on. Please don't give no
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: fan advice. No, no, no, no, no. We don't know
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: you to be a dream fan. Please, please.
- 1:07:56Speaker 8: We know you to be an Angel Reese fan, but
- 1:07:59Speaker 8: we don't know you.
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: That is different.
- 1:08:02Speaker 8: I just want to make sure out there before he
- 1:08:04Speaker 8: makes this statement and put it on record. I know
- 1:08:07Speaker 8: you to be an Angel Reese fan. I don't know
- 1:08:11Speaker 8: you to be a Dream fan. Remember, your loyalties move around.
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: You're a Yankee. You're a Laker.
- 1:08:17Speaker 8: You're a Georgia football. You're a North Carolina basketball. So
- 1:08:23Speaker 8: you're not just a city person.
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: I got proof, though.
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: But as I say. Where's your proof? Oh, I got pictures.
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: I pulled them up during the break. I'll show you.
- 1:08:33Speaker 12: When it first started, I was going to the Dream
- 1:08:36Speaker 12: Games when Ty Young was on the team, even before
- 1:08:41Speaker 12: Andrew McConaughey.
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: When they first came in. Well, that doesn't mean you
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: still ride. No, I've been riding. I've been back in Chicago.
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: I've been riding with a dream. B-I-K-E. I've been riding
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: with a dream. I've been blessed. In Chicago.
- 1:08:54Speaker 8: So right now, Big Kenny's friend from 10 years ago
- 1:08:57Speaker 8: thinks he a J-E-T-S.
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: Jets.
- 1:08:59Speaker 19: Jets.
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: Jets fan. I've been a dream. And you would have
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: to explain.
- 1:09:03Speaker 11: Why all my Jets stuff in a black bag at
- 1:09:05Speaker 11: the house.
- 1:09:06Speaker 12: I've been blessed enough. What you doing with them T-shirts?
- 1:09:09Speaker 12: To officiate some of their scrimmage games in the past.
- 1:09:11Speaker 12: So I am a dream fan.
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: That's just making money.
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: No.
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: What's your point, sir? What did you want to say?
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: What I wanted to say is.
- 1:09:18Speaker 12: Let's sell out during the regular season, besides just when
- 1:09:21Speaker 12: Kaitlin Clark or Asia Wilson come to town.
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: Well, you can't do that, Babadook.
- 1:09:26Speaker 12: I'm saying we bragging about the $ 17, 000.
- 1:09:29Speaker 8: Where are you going to spend your money? If you
- 1:09:33Speaker 8: got $ 1, if you got one ticket to have, where
- 1:09:39Speaker 8: are you going to take your ticket?
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: Sports.
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: No, one ticket for all the sports teams. You're going
- 1:09:46Speaker 5: to buy one ticket.
- 1:09:47Speaker 8: You got the Falcons, the Braves, the Hawks, Georgia football,
- 1:09:51Speaker 8: Georgia Tech. Where are you taking your dollar? Because that's
- 1:09:54Speaker 8: the thing and mistake people make.
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: Rise up. Exactly.
- 1:09:58Speaker 11: So that ain't no Atlanta Dream ticket?
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, no. I'm saying that's how most
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: households are. We got to make a choice. We got
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: to make a choice.
- 1:10:08Speaker 8: I'm going to get these Falcon tickets and I'm going
- 1:10:11Speaker 8: to catch a couple of Dream games.
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: But that's typically how it really works.
- 1:10:18Speaker 8: The Georgia Bulldog fan buys those seven home, eight games, whatever.
- 1:10:24Speaker 8: They spend their money there. And then maybe once a year,
- 1:10:28Speaker 8: they get the catch if Matt Stafford comes to play
- 1:10:31Speaker 8: the Falcons.
- 1:10:32Speaker 11: I was just about to say, because for the average
- 1:10:34Speaker 11: fan like myself, I'm going to spend mine with the Falcons,
- 1:10:38Speaker 11: but it's when the Bears come to town. I ain't
- 1:10:41Speaker 11: got no Falcons, Ravens, Titans money. A lot of people
- 1:10:46Speaker 11: don't have budgets like that. And so that's my thing
- 1:10:49Speaker 11: with the dream is you keep trying to get into
- 1:10:52Speaker 11: these premium slots when you got whole windows of unoccupied time.
- 1:10:59Speaker 8: And this is just a lesson I learned when I
- 1:11:01Speaker 8: played with the Steelers because the Steelers fans, they talk
- 1:11:04Speaker 8: and you learn– that as much as they love the Penguins,
- 1:11:10Speaker 8: they work in a household where I'm going to get
- 1:11:13Speaker 8: a ticket, my neighbor going to get a ticket. We've
- 1:11:16Speaker 8: been doing this for 30 years and they occasionally catch
- 1:11:20Speaker 8: a Penguins game, but the household can only afford. They
- 1:11:25Speaker 8: go to six games together Then one game, one of
- 1:11:30Speaker 8: them takes it and takes their kid, and the other
- 1:11:33Speaker 8: one takes their kid, and then at some point the
- 1:11:35Speaker 8: two wives go.
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: And that's really how it breaks down.
- 1:11:40Speaker 8: But they don't have penguin season ticket money and still
- 1:11:45Speaker 8: a ticket money.
- 1:11:46Speaker 11: And they ain't going to go catch the pirates three,
- 1:11:48Speaker 11: four times over the summer now.
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: Especially with the price of these tickets now. Especially with
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: the price of parking. Oh, yeah. Parking. Wait, wait, wait.
- 1:11:56Speaker 5: Parking costs more than tickets.
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: Wait, wait, wait.
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: You can get a.
- 1:12:00Speaker 12: $ 20 ticket still paying $ 50 to park.
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: You hear about the kids pocketing the money?
- 1:12:04Speaker 11: Every time we start talking about hustles and scams and schemes.
- 1:12:10Speaker 11: And we go where they could have just put that
- 1:12:11Speaker 11: money into something legal. Parking lots of the. legalist hustle
- 1:12:16Speaker 11: scam scheme that I've ever seen.
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: It's just a lot. It's just a lot.
- 1:12:20Speaker 8: This man say $ 150 and everybody look at me and
- 1:12:23Speaker 8: then we give him $ 150 and we.
- 1:12:25Speaker 11: Park on the lot and the car just sit there.
- 1:12:28Speaker 11: They don't do nothing special. They don't wash it. Ain't
- 1:12:29Speaker 11: nobody going to put no gas in it. There's no
- 1:12:32Speaker 11: dancing or a hamburger. It don't come with nothing but
- 1:12:34Speaker 11: the space.
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: And that's it. And then when I come back, some
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: dude done peed right next to my car. We'll be back.
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: You want this space, don't you?
- 1:12:43Speaker 8: Hey, I'm saying, you'd have thought that the $ 150 came
- 1:12:46Speaker 8: with a no.
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: Pee here clause. I went to a Hawk game against
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: the Knicks in the playoffs, and the parking was $ 250.
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: And the lot was full. And I said, man, y'all
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: are crazy.
- 1:13:03Speaker 8: If I didn't have a parking thing, I would have
- 1:13:06Speaker 8: just went home.
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: On the principle alone. No, no, no, on the principle alone.
- 1:13:13Speaker 8: I feel that's insulting. I'm not that big a fan.
- 1:13:17Speaker 8: I'm not that fan of a natty.
- 1:13:35Speaker 7: Don't go away.
- 1:13:36Speaker 10: More of the Sports Jot Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 1:13:39Speaker 10: coming up next.

- 1:15:48Speaker 5: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, Shawty.
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: It's your birthday. We're going to party like it's your birthday.
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: We're going to sip a card like it's your birthday.
- 1:16:05Speaker 5: And you know we don't give a fuck because that's
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: your birthday. You can find me in the club.
- 1:16:09Speaker 8: Welcome back to the Sports Jog Show. I'm the Sports Jog,
- 1:16:11Speaker 8: Wayne Gandy. A couple of birthdays here going into the weekend.
- 1:16:14Speaker 8: We talked about Drizzy. I'm quite sure on Monday's show
- 1:16:17Speaker 8: we'll be able to talk about his 40th birthday. It's
- 1:16:20Speaker 8: going to be something, you know, on that floor at Mayweather.
- 1:16:23Speaker 8: Some endangered species in a cage when Comanche Greg walks in.
- 1:16:27Speaker 11: And by the time he leaves. He got a woolly mammoth.
- 1:16:32Speaker 11: When he walks in, the woolly mammoth will be in
- 1:16:35Speaker 11: a cage. When he walks out, it'll be a belt
- 1:16:37Speaker 11: and some matching shoes. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: The big 4-0 for Drake. London artist Ray. She's 29
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: years old. Jalen Brown in the Sixers. We're going to
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: talk about the Sixers here in a second. He's 30.
- 1:16:51Speaker 8: That is JB. Monica, who we said we saw at
- 1:16:55Speaker 8: the Dream Game.
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: It's funny.
- 1:16:57Speaker 8: Atlanta is just one of those places where all of
- 1:16:59Speaker 8: a sudden, whatever's hot, everybody has to be at it.
- 1:17:05Speaker 8: Monica at the Dream Game. Everybody at the Dream Game.
- 1:17:08Speaker 8: If you say so.
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: 46 years old.
- 1:17:11Speaker 8: Amon Raw St. Brown, which is a great name. The
- 1:17:15Speaker 8: receiver for the Lions, 27 years old. Jalen Ramsey, right
- 1:17:20Speaker 8: there on that cusp.
- 1:17:21Speaker 5: Hall of Famer for the Steelers, 32 years old. Who
- 1:17:27Speaker 5: else do we have here?
- 1:17:28Speaker 8: Mystical is 57. And I felt sorry for Mystical when
- 1:17:32Speaker 8: I saw 57. Not in the sense that he should
- 1:17:35Speaker 8: not be put in the cage for the rape. But just,
- 1:17:40Speaker 8: you know, when you As men, and especially as black men,
- 1:17:44Speaker 8: you sit around and you've had these conversations where at
- 1:17:48Speaker 8: a certain point.
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: You're just too old to go to jail. And 57,
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: one of them ages. And you'd be like, man, I
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: thought you was about that life, Vic Kenny.
- 1:17:58Speaker 8: Nah, I mean, no, no, no. I am about that life.
- 1:18:03Speaker 8: It's just not the jail life.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: For the same thing you went to jail for the
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: last time.
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: It's just like, sure, you've had that conversation where you
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: could have done something at 25 and gave them that
- 1:18:13Speaker 5: 10 years. Yeah, but you can't give them nothing.
- 1:18:19Speaker 8: You can't give them, you don't have 10. At 25,
- 1:18:20Speaker 8: they could have got a dime out of me. I'm
- 1:18:23Speaker 8: talking about on some gangster gangsta.
- 1:18:25Speaker 11: I wasn't scared to do 10. At 25, I would
- 1:18:28Speaker 11: have done 10 and laughed about it. But right now,
- 1:18:31Speaker 11: it's the big 5-9.
- 1:18:33Speaker 5: You snitching. All us going to jail. They caught us. Yes,
- 1:18:38Speaker 5: they did.
- 1:18:38Speaker 8: No, man, I was on vacation. How did they get
- 1:18:41Speaker 8: my name? I told them, sir. I told them your
- 1:18:44Speaker 8: name and your address and all of that. That's why
- 1:18:47Speaker 8: I stay out of crime because that's against my principles.
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: I ain't finna sniff. on nobody, so I ain't finna
- 1:18:51Speaker 5: do no crime.
- 1:18:51Speaker 8: Mike Tomczak, former Bear, former quarterback with me with the Steelers, 64.
- 1:18:56Speaker 8: Doug Flutie, 64 as well. Nick Bosa, part of what
- 1:19:01Speaker 8: we talked about, if the 49ers can be healthy. They
- 1:19:05Speaker 8: got pieces like Nick Bosa. They were 6-0, and Nick
- 1:19:08Speaker 8: Bosa hasn't played in like four games.
- 1:19:10Speaker 11: 49ers be injured like they be scheduling paid time off.
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:19:15Speaker 11: Like I'm going to miss the first three games, then
- 1:19:17Speaker 11: you be injured like the second half of the season
- 1:19:21Speaker 11: because they all, at some point, all the key pieces
- 1:19:24Speaker 11: be out.
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: For a game.
- 1:19:25Speaker 8: Yeah, Debo Samuel was out last week. They always have
- 1:19:29Speaker 8: somebody missing.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: That's why they say that substation at the practice facility–
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: That's why everyone's getting hurt.
- 1:19:36Speaker 8: And I told you, it's been like this for a
- 1:19:40Speaker 8: good five, six years that if they can ever get
- 1:19:44Speaker 8: to the championship game with everybody, I don't know anybody
- 1:19:49Speaker 8: can beat them, but it's rare that it ever happens.
- 1:19:52Speaker 8: Brock Purdy is on the field because somebody got hurt
- 1:19:56Speaker 8: and they learned that he could play ball. That's the
- 1:19:58Speaker 8: only reason he is on the field. Because they had
- 1:20:01Speaker 8: to go. The first two quarterbacks got hurt, and they
- 1:20:04Speaker 8: had him over there. Who else do we have? LeVar
- 1:20:06Speaker 8: Ball is 59. Miguel, 41. Game of Thrones, Emily Clark.
- 1:20:14Speaker 8: Excuse me. Amelia Clark is 40 years old. Ryan Reynolds
- 1:20:17Speaker 8: is 50. And Swim Cash is 48. The former WNBA
- 1:20:29Speaker 8: Ballers win cash.
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: Big Kenny? I'm going to go with Emilia Clarke. Clarke.
- 1:20:35Speaker 19: Okay.
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: You can ride a dragon. You can hang with me.
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying? The queen. The queen. Of
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: the Andals. I'm saying. And the first man. I'm saying.
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: And the Rydnar. And the Rydnar.
- 1:20:45Speaker 11: That's what I'm saying. Any chick queen of the Rydnar,
- 1:20:50Speaker 11: she not going to get chose.
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: You feel me? You feel me, Sports Chalk? The breaker
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: of trains. Come on, man. The Khaleesi.
- 1:20:56Speaker 11: The Breaker of Chains and the Queen of the Riding Arm.
- 1:21:00Speaker 11: Them two right there alone was like, you need to
- 1:21:03Speaker 11: be with me.
- 1:21:04Speaker 5: That's right there. If you never watched Game of Thrones,
- 1:21:05Speaker 5: you don't get it.
- 1:21:06Speaker 11: It would make no sense to you, but if you do,
- 1:21:08Speaker 11: you know I chose right.
- 1:21:11Speaker 5: Is Emilia Clarke. And those are the birthdays for the week.
- 1:21:18Speaker 8: Sean Marion ordered to pay $ 4 million in a case
- 1:21:22Speaker 8: where he.
- 1:21:26Speaker 8: Was part of what they sang now. I guess they
- 1:21:29Speaker 8: found the group. The story, when I read it, Sean
- 1:21:32Speaker 8: Marion's friend was the one who supposedly had drugged the
- 1:21:38Speaker 8: young lady, put something in her drink. She was a playboy,
- 1:21:42Speaker 8: former playboy employee. But the judgment is that he's supposed
- 1:21:47Speaker 8: to pay for it. I'm interested if this case continues
- 1:21:51Speaker 8: because I don't know how I'm on the hook for
- 1:21:54Speaker 8: the four-meal... And you're saying, and.
- 1:21:59Speaker 5: How did you prove I told him to do that
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: in this case?
- 1:22:04Speaker 8: So look that up, Sean Marion. See, and that's why.
- 1:22:08Speaker 8: But in civil cases, we've learned.
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: You have less evidence. Yeah, the burden of proof is
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: less strenuous.
- 1:22:15Speaker 11: But I still think that even with the guy from
- 1:22:17Speaker 11: the Detroit Lions, I pause and move slowly when they
- 1:22:22Speaker 11: start talking about people masterminding things. generally in court that's
- 1:22:28Speaker 11: called hearsay or something like that you can't prove that
- 1:22:34Speaker 11: I told you just based on your word he said
- 1:22:37Speaker 11: that I should do this or I thought that he
- 1:22:40Speaker 11: told him and then I'm actually in court for that
- 1:22:43Speaker 11: is concerning to.
- 1:22:44Speaker 8: Me yeah that part of just because he said I
- 1:22:47Speaker 8: said how does that get me how is that proof
- 1:22:52Speaker 8: y'all called him on the drug he said I told
- 1:22:54Speaker 8: him And I mean, and even different than the Armstead
- 1:22:58Speaker 8: case with the Tarion Armstead, where he's watching from video.
- 1:23:04Speaker 5: He's on.
- 1:23:05Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: On FaceTime.
- 1:23:06Speaker 5: So. And the victims were able to corroborate that.
- 1:23:09Speaker 11: But if someone had said he called me on FaceTime
- 1:23:13Speaker 11: and then told me to kidnap them, I'd still be somewhat.
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: And you did it. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:23:19Speaker 11: That seems like a stretch that someone's words would activate
- 1:23:23Speaker 11: your actions.
- 1:23:24Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:23:25Speaker 8: Fans didn't want Miley Cyrus as we go to break, guys.
- 1:23:29Speaker 8: Why do you think the fans didn't want Miley Cyrus
- 1:23:31Speaker 8: for the Super Bowl?
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: To sing what? For the Super Bowl halftime. To sing what?
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: To party in the U.S.
- 1:23:41Speaker 5: All her songs. The stuff that Mike Will made and produced.
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: Get like me. She's on tour now, right?
- 1:23:51Speaker 11: Right, but I think she's a I think that she
- 1:23:54Speaker 11: is a byproduct of that generation of social media where
- 1:24:00Speaker 11: everything had to be fresh and new and current, and
- 1:24:03Speaker 11: they see her as new.
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: It would have been like a lot of different styles.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: It would have been a lot of different styles. It's pop,
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: it's country.
- 1:24:14Speaker 5: She did the R & B stuff.
- 1:24:16Speaker 11: Yeah, but what I'm saying, my core fans, when I
- 1:24:20Speaker 11: was doing those styles, When I was doing those styles,
- 1:24:24Speaker 11: my core fans were into that music. Now they've evolved
- 1:24:28Speaker 11: onto something else, and they don't have an identity with me.
- 1:24:32Speaker 5: I'm there. Remember my country phase. I'm there. Remember when
- 1:24:35Speaker 5: I did Wrecking Ball. I'm there, and I ain't there
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: no more.
- 1:24:39Speaker 12: But there's guys who— She's just as current as Jay-Z.
- 1:24:41Speaker 12: That's what I was going to say. There's people who
- 1:24:43Speaker 12: still throw in a reasonable doubt. I throw in a
- 1:24:45Speaker 12: reasonable doubt every once in a while. I might hear
- 1:24:48Speaker 12: the Mary song, and I say, man, I need to
- 1:24:49Speaker 12: listen to the reasonable doubt.
- 1:24:50Speaker 5: We'll be back. More of the Sports Talk show right
- 1:24:51Speaker 5: after this.
- 1:24:53Speaker 8: It's a new season, and we still breathing.
- 1:24:57Speaker 20: And I got a really big team, and they need.
- 1:24:59Speaker 5: Some really big rings. Don't go away.
- 1:25:02Speaker 10: More of the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gamby is
- 1:25:05Speaker 10: coming up next.
- 1:25:08Speaker 18: Choosing to buy a gun was not a decision I
- 1:25:10Speaker 18: took lightly. But with everything going on, I really wanted
- 1:25:14Speaker 18: to feel like I could protect myself. I hadn't thought
- 1:25:16Speaker 18: about the danger of an unlocked gun in my own home, too.
- 1:25:20Speaker 5: Mia, where are your napkins? Not that drawer. Unless anyone
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: needs a gun.
- 1:25:28Speaker 18: Now, I always lock my gun to keep everyone safe.
- 1:25:31Speaker 18: Visit nfamilyfire.org to learn how to store your guns more securely.
- 1:25:36Speaker 18: Brought to you by Brady and the Ad Council.
- 1:25:37Speaker 14: I'm a pretty great multitasker. I can wash dishes and
- 1:25:41Speaker 14: do laundry. I can roller skate while walking my dog.
- 1:25:45Speaker 14: I can even order lunch while doing my homework. But
- 1:25:48Speaker 14: I can't use my phone while driving. A distracted driver
- 1:25:52Speaker 14: is one of the leading causes of death in the
- 1:25:54Speaker 14: United States. So when it comes to driving, please, don't
- 1:25:57Speaker 14: be a multitasker.
- 1:25:58Speaker 7: Don't drive distracted.
- 1:25:59Speaker 13: A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic
- 1:26:02Speaker 13: Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light, and the Ad Council.
- 1:26:07Speaker 5: All right, son, time to put out this campfire. Dad,
- 1:26:10Speaker 5: we learned about this in school. Oh, did you now?
- 1:26:13Speaker 7: Okay, what's first?
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: Smokey Bear said to.
- 1:26:16Speaker 9: First, drown it with a bucket of water, then stir
- 1:26:18Speaker 9: it with a shovel.
- 1:26:19Speaker 5: Wow, you sound just like him. Then he said.
- 1:26:23Speaker 9: If it's still warm, then do it again.
- 1:26:25Speaker 5: Where can I learn all this?
- 1:26:27Speaker 9: It's all on SmokeyBear.com with other wildfire prevention tips. Because
- 1:26:32Speaker 9: only you can prevent wildfires.
- 1:26:34Speaker 7: Brought to you by the USDA Forest Service, your state forester,
- 1:26:36Speaker 7: and the Ad Council.
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Ganty.
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the eighth one to the world.
- 1:26:52Speaker 7: The flow of the century.
- 1:26:55Speaker 6: Oh, it's timeless. Oh, thank you. Coming out tonight.
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: You could have been anywhere in the world.
- 1:27:14Speaker 8: Put your head with me. Welcome back to the Sports
- 1:27:18Speaker 8: Talk Show. Is there something that happened?
- 1:27:20Speaker 11: Oh, no, I was looking at a comment that I
- 1:27:23Speaker 11: thought was interesting.
- 1:27:24Speaker 5: Okay, what's that comment on mine?
- 1:27:25Speaker 11: Uncle Charlie said, why won't they put Kirk Franklin and
- 1:27:28Speaker 11: the Williams Brothers mixed with some country artists for 15
- 1:27:32Speaker 11: minutes halftime? No naked dancer, just music and performance. Anyways,
- 1:27:38Speaker 11: just too old-fashioned. And do you think that there's a large...
- 1:27:43Speaker 11: section of the country that feels that way.
- 1:27:45Speaker 5: Well, Kirk Franklin is dumbed down to Glorilla.
- 1:27:49Speaker 11: Well, I'm saying, and maybe it won't be Kirk Franklin particularly,
- 1:27:53Speaker 11: but that the Super Bowl halftime show has become a
- 1:27:57Speaker 11: little bit.
- 1:27:59Speaker 5: Too secular, maybe.
- 1:28:01Speaker 11: And I'm not saying a gospel artist, but maybe take
- 1:28:04Speaker 11: away in their performance some of that nudity and gyration
- 1:28:09Speaker 11: and those types of things.
- 1:28:13Speaker 8: I don't know what music that you can find that,
- 1:28:18Speaker 8: what area.
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: That won't lend itself to that.
- 1:28:22Speaker 8: Because now gospel has returned themselves into gospel rap.
- 1:28:26Speaker 5: So who do I bring? Yeah. That would. No, I
- 1:28:31Speaker 5: get it. I'm 100% understand.
- 1:28:33Speaker 12: So you can't, Shirley, we got a song with Anthony
- 1:28:36Speaker 12: Hamilton that you can, it's, you know, you could tell
- 1:28:40Speaker 12: it's got a little bit of that secular with it,
- 1:28:43Speaker 12: but you couldn't even bring Shirley.
- 1:28:46Speaker 8: I completely get it. That ship has definitely sailed. That
- 1:28:49Speaker 8: old ship of Zion has sailed.
- 1:28:51Speaker 11: And the one thing that we were saying earlier was
- 1:28:53Speaker 11: it has to have some sort of sensationalism attached to it.
- 1:28:59Speaker 8: There's got to be um theater jalen hurts uh in
- 1:29:05Speaker 8: his uh situation he has been shut down for the
- 1:29:07Speaker 8: eagles uh for the season we talked about his blood
- 1:29:12Speaker 8: clots that it started off with one in his leg
- 1:29:16Speaker 8: and they found one in his lung and the eagles
- 1:29:19Speaker 8: have decided to shut him down Now you start all
- 1:29:23Speaker 8: the conversation about whether this is a career-ending injury. As
- 1:29:28Speaker 8: we talked about, there's been a couple of cases over
- 1:29:30Speaker 8: the recent years. Most famously, I would say, was the
- 1:29:34Speaker 8: situation with Kenny's best friend, Chris Bosh, of the heat
- 1:29:39Speaker 8: where his blood clots basically stopped his Hall of Fame career.
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: And where is he now? That he had put together.
- 1:29:46Speaker 5: And Chris Bosh right now is.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: I think he's doing... He's on the NBA... Coverage for Prime,
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: for Amazon Prime.
- 1:29:54Speaker 5: And that's been about eight years? At least. At least eight. Yeah.
- 1:30:01Speaker 5: About eight years. So Chris was maybe about 32, 33
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: when this happened. Jalen Hurts now will have to go
- 1:30:13Speaker 5: through a lot of scrutiny. The NFLPA is investigating where
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: the proper steps take in.
- 1:30:20Speaker 8: Roger Goodell says... The NFL welcomes. And this just is
- 1:30:24Speaker 8: about timing. And I kind of said that in the
- 1:30:28Speaker 8: last show about fault. I don't know why you think
- 1:30:31Speaker 8: that the Philadelphia Eagles would try to endanger Jalen Hurts
- 1:30:40Speaker 8: or why there has to be some conspiracy that every
- 1:30:44Speaker 8: answer for every situation has already been thought about. or
- 1:30:49Speaker 8: everybody reacts and this is just where Jalen Hurts had
- 1:30:52Speaker 8: said he had an issue.
- 1:30:53Speaker 5: He was in the hospital. They thought maybe he could play.
- 1:30:57Speaker 8: They got him out there, but okay, we missed it for,
- 1:31:02Speaker 8: I don't know that this is negligence or anything other
- 1:31:05Speaker 8: than how did you want me to always react perfectly
- 1:31:11Speaker 8: from your hindsight? I'm glad the NFLPA, which they have
- 1:31:15Speaker 8: to go and investigate. Don't let them when they say that.
- 1:31:20Speaker 8: They have to investigate everything, every fine, every suspension, every
- 1:31:24Speaker 8: medical thing that happened. Thankfully, they found and shut Jalen
- 1:31:33Speaker 8: Hurts down, to me, is the first and foremost part
- 1:31:38Speaker 8: that we should be concerned about. Then it becomes the procedurals.
- 1:31:42Speaker 8: Did they know an hour before or two hours later?
- 1:31:45Speaker 5: I don't know. Just know that he had to be
- 1:31:47Speaker 5: shut down. Yes.
- 1:31:50Speaker 11: Now, I think what a lot of people, and this
- 1:31:52Speaker 11: is what I'm gathering because every time I hear the coverage,
- 1:31:56Speaker 11: everyone prefaces the story with they found a clot in
- 1:32:02Speaker 11: his calf before he got on the plane. And the
- 1:32:09Speaker 11: conventional wisdom, the established reality is everybody knows that without
- 1:32:14Speaker 11: clots existing, air travel can produce clots and be dangerous
- 1:32:19Speaker 11: for people because they sit for long periods of time immobile. Now,
- 1:32:23Speaker 11: having found a clot in his legs, most people's physicians
- 1:32:29Speaker 11: would advise them to not travel by air. They're saying
- 1:32:33Speaker 11: that they knew he had a blood clot and they
- 1:32:35Speaker 11: let him fly anyway, is what most people are upset
- 1:32:39Speaker 11: about and want to have unraveled. Again, I would think
- 1:32:43Speaker 11: that would be between him and his doctors, but that's
- 1:32:46Speaker 11: what I thought people were mad about is you knew
- 1:32:48Speaker 11: he had a blood clot and you risked it anyway
- 1:32:50Speaker 11: by flying, which could have led to these further blood
- 1:32:55Speaker 11: clots in his lungs because had he not had to
- 1:32:58Speaker 11: go eight hours over and eight hours back, that was detrimental.
- 1:33:03Speaker 8: And you knew it could be detrimental. Why would you
- 1:33:05Speaker 8: let him go? The same way that they let any
- 1:33:08Speaker 8: of us do anything. They sit around and they do
- 1:33:13Speaker 8: the evidence and they tell you the situation and then
- 1:33:16Speaker 8: they make a call of how they're going to handle it.
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: So.
- 1:33:24Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying. He grown.
- 1:33:26Speaker 11: I used to think that that had weight in the world.
- 1:33:30Speaker 5: Like, hey, man, you shouldn't go.
- 1:33:32Speaker 28: What?
- 1:33:33Speaker 11: I'm grown, bro. You ain't my daddy. And you would
- 1:33:35Speaker 11: go because you wanted to. And then no one could
- 1:33:37Speaker 11: stop you because you over the age of consent. And
- 1:33:41Speaker 11: I thought that used to count. But now we've been
- 1:33:44Speaker 11: having that conversation today. Like, when does me saying I'm
- 1:33:48Speaker 11: cool stop? Be enough. When can I just be in
- 1:33:51Speaker 11: control of myself and my own actions, even if I'm
- 1:33:55Speaker 11: participating with you? Big Kenny, I don't know, man. You
- 1:33:58Speaker 11: don't need to be having that other drink. I'm good,
- 1:34:00Speaker 11: Comanche Greg.
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: Back off.
- 1:34:03Speaker 8: Lift Every Voice and Sing starts being sung at arenas,
- 1:34:08Speaker 8: and a certain crowd gets up and leaves the arena
- 1:34:13Speaker 8: until the song is over. Then they come back. What's
- 1:34:15Speaker 8: the storyline, Comanche Greg, after that happens? There would be
- 1:34:25Speaker 8: a conversation on whether it needs to be sung before
- 1:34:28Speaker 8: or after the national anthem. Some people are going to
- 1:34:35Speaker 8: be looked at as racist or leaving.
- 1:34:42Speaker 5: Big Kenny? Big Kenny? Similar to the WNBA players.
- 1:34:49Speaker 11: I'm saying, maybe I'm going to the bathroom. Maybe I'm
- 1:34:54Speaker 11: going to get some concession.
- 1:34:57Speaker 5: And why do you care?
- 1:35:00Speaker 11: If people can walk out doing the national anthem, we
- 1:35:02Speaker 11: can walk out anytime.
- 1:35:04Speaker 5: Bad producer? Yeah. They're going to call them racist. They're
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: going to call them everything.
- 1:35:10Speaker 12: But child of god they're gonna accuse them of everything
- 1:35:15Speaker 12: you're gonna be accused of everything just because you knew
- 1:35:19Speaker 12: that was the negro national anthem and you did it
- 1:35:21Speaker 12: on purpose how did you know that they announced.
- 1:35:24Speaker 8: Because i didn't know that until recently when y'all been
- 1:35:28Speaker 8: telling me because i didn't i never i never and
- 1:35:30Speaker 8: i grew up singing the song in church yeah uh
- 1:35:33Speaker 8: and they never introduced it as uh our national anthem.
- 1:35:39Speaker 12: I don't remember the vote.
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: It was never official on anything. It was just, people
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: just started saying it's the black national anthem.
- 1:35:48Speaker 11: And I'm saying, and I'm saying, and you just said
- 1:35:52Speaker 11: the Black National Anthem.
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: I didn't know about Juneteenth.
- 1:35:55Speaker 11: They just said the Black National Anthem and rarely, if ever,
- 1:35:59Speaker 11: say with the name of the Black. Like, the National
- 1:36:02Speaker 11: Anthem is a star-spangled banner. We know that. You just
- 1:36:05Speaker 11: say the Black National Anthem. What's the name of the song?
- 1:36:09Speaker 11: What is the name of the song? And you rarely
- 1:36:11Speaker 11: hear that part of it.
- 1:36:12Speaker 5: We'll be back with more of the Sports Talk Show

- 1:37:28Speaker 5: Everyone needs to take care of their mental health, even
- 1:37:30Speaker 5: running back B. John Robinson. When I'm on the field
- 1:37:33Speaker 5: and feeling the pressure, I usually just take a deep breath.
- 1:37:36Speaker 9: When I'm just breathing and seeing what's in front of me,
- 1:37:38Speaker 9: everything just slows down.
- 1:37:40Speaker 5: It just makes me feel great before I run the play.
- 1:37:42Speaker 5: Just like Bijan, we all need a strong mental game
- 1:37:45Speaker 5: on and off the field.
- 1:37:47Speaker 8: Make a game plan for your mental health at georgia.loveyourmindtoday.org.
- 1:37:51Speaker 5: Love your mind.

- 1:38:00Speaker 9: But early detection allowed us to take control of the
- 1:38:02Speaker 9: situation together.
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: Talk to your family about seeing a doctor.

- 1:38:08Speaker 5: A message from the Alzheimer's Association and the Ad Council.
- 1:38:15Speaker 5: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy. It's
- 1:38:28Speaker 5: Wayne Gandy.
- 1:38:29Speaker 6: It's Wayne Gandy. It's Wayne Gandy.
- 1:38:39Speaker 27: Oh, log on so you can see the sports J-O-C,
- 1:38:43Speaker 27: even Big Candy.
- 1:38:44Speaker 8: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:38:48Speaker 8: Talk Wayne Gandy. One question real quick, guys. We forgot
- 1:38:51Speaker 8: to answer on Monday's show. It was on me that
- 1:38:55Speaker 8: I forgot to bring back up during the show. Do
- 1:38:58Speaker 8: the Sixers win the championship of the NBA this season?
- 1:39:05Speaker 8: Yes or no, Comanche?
- 1:39:08Speaker 9: No.
- 1:39:09Speaker 5: Big Kenny? Yes. Bad producer?
- 1:39:15Speaker 10: No, no, no.
- 1:39:17Speaker 13: No.
- 1:39:17Speaker 5: Sports job. I'm going to go with yes. Yes. After
- 1:39:21Speaker 5: what I saw the other night, I'm kind of glad you.
- 1:39:23Speaker 11: Didn't bring it up because I got a chance to
- 1:39:26Speaker 11: see them play the defending champions.
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: Should we ask why the bad producer said no?
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: And LeBron was playing.
- 1:39:36Speaker 11: And if this makes sense, LeBron was playing like a
- 1:39:39Speaker 11: grown man.
- 1:39:41Speaker 5: Usually he'd be playing like LeBron.
- 1:39:44Speaker 11: He was out there playing on some y'all act like
- 1:39:46Speaker 11: y'all don't know who you dealing with. And I haven't
- 1:39:51Speaker 11: seen that spark in him for a while. And then
- 1:39:55Speaker 11: the game got tight, which I expected it to get.
- 1:39:57Speaker 11: And then Philly refused to go down, which used to
- 1:40:01Speaker 11: be their Achilles heel. We'll take you deep into the
- 1:40:05Speaker 11: last quarter and we'll put up a good fight, but
- 1:40:08Speaker 11: eventually get knocked out.
- 1:40:09Speaker 5: It ain't happening no more. Why do you say no?
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: I think they're going to have a lot of chemistry issues. Like,
- 1:40:19Speaker 2: who are we supposed to play through?
- 1:40:21Speaker 5: Is it Maxie?
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: Is it Jalen Brown? Can Jalen Brown take a step
- 1:40:25Speaker 2: back again after last year? Is Embiid going to be there? Yeah.
- 1:40:32Speaker 5: Be healthy. Who's going to take control?
- 1:40:36Speaker 12: And all the other distractions from flying in from New
- 1:40:40Speaker 12: York to Philly for games.
- 1:40:43Speaker 5: All of that's gone wrong. I'm just saying, oh, that's gone.
- 1:40:48Speaker 8: You got Embiid. If he's going to be there, I'm
- 1:40:52Speaker 8: getting more sleep now. I got LeBron. I'm in the
- 1:40:55Speaker 8: gym 30 more minutes, an hour longer now because we
- 1:41:00Speaker 8: got LeBron.
- 1:41:00Speaker 11: They told him to trust the process. I don't need
- 1:41:03Speaker 11: sprinkles on my ice cream. Matter of fact, just give
- 1:41:06Speaker 11: me Greek yogurt. We got LeBron.
- 1:41:09Speaker 5: It's different. Mindset is everything. There are people who shouldn't be.
- 1:41:14Speaker 5: He has dropped about 20 pounds. Come on, man.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: He's back to his rookie weight.
- 1:41:20Speaker 5: He looks lighter.
- 1:41:21Speaker 11: They can't call him fat boy no more.
- 1:41:23Speaker 8: All I saw, and I think they played tonight, but
- 1:41:28Speaker 8: when they played the defending champs and.
- 1:41:34Speaker 5: I watched King work, he's done his.
- 1:41:43Speaker 8: Michael Jordan impression in 24 years. He's done his Magic
- 1:41:48Speaker 8: Johnson impression in 24 years. He's done his Isaiah Thomas impression.
- 1:41:58Speaker 5: Now he's on to his Carl Malone. And it's scary.
- 1:42:04Speaker 8: If he's going to just be this team's anchor and
- 1:42:11Speaker 8: let these young boys Guide the ship. Where he's just
- 1:42:17Speaker 8: going to score 18 points and do the other stuff.
- 1:42:21Speaker 5: Y'all in trouble.
- 1:42:24Speaker 8: Like Big Kenny has said, if you're going to let
- 1:42:27Speaker 8: him just play power forward.
- 1:42:29Speaker 11: Because he's there. Tyrese Maxey ain't touching the ball no less.
- 1:42:32Speaker 11: He's still down there guiding that action. He led the
- 1:42:35Speaker 11: team in scoring. LeBron passed the ball to him and Jalen.
- 1:42:38Speaker 11: He had 14 points. He had like 11 rebounds, 7 assists.
- 1:42:43Speaker 11: If he's going to be that.
- 1:42:44Speaker 8: And he's still got that.
- 1:42:46Speaker 5: They clear out the lane.
- 1:42:48Speaker 8: They pass it to him and everybody under the basket goes, move.
- 1:42:52Speaker 2: That's not even my hesitation of, like, what LeBron can do. It's, like,
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: how effective can Jalen Brown be? Can he accept whatever
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: role that they have for him? And in B's health, like,
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: I don't think he's automatically healthy.
- 1:43:09Speaker 8: But doesn't it start with them seeing that LeBron is
- 1:43:12Speaker 8: okay not making his number?
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: That's fine. Like, I can see that. I can expect that.
- 1:43:21Speaker 2: But it's with the other players. My concern is not
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: with LeBron.
- 1:43:25Speaker 8: Well, hasn't Jalen Brown been understanding how to play the
- 1:43:29Speaker 8: second role?
- 1:43:30Speaker 5: I was going to say, didn't he come?
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: But after last season, can he go back to doing that?
- 1:43:34Speaker 8: Well, at least on Tuesday night, he was cool with
- 1:43:37Speaker 8: whoever got the hot hand.
- 1:43:39Speaker 11: I imagine Jalen Brown left Boston. got traded from Boston,
- 1:43:46Speaker 11: which is even worse to me because they didn't see
- 1:43:50Speaker 11: any future value in him. Now he's somewhere where not
- 1:43:54Speaker 11: only he feels valued, but he's producing. So, aha, y'all
- 1:43:58Speaker 11: got rid of me while I still had a lot
- 1:44:01Speaker 11: of gas in the tank, and now I don't have
- 1:44:05Speaker 11: to use all my gas every game. We got all
- 1:44:08Speaker 11: of these other people and LeBron. Again, we got LeBron,
- 1:44:11Speaker 11: which means that.
- 1:44:12Speaker 8: Some nights– Some of us might just feel like sitting
- 1:44:15Speaker 8: down and load manage.
- 1:44:18Speaker 5: The biggest key from.
- 1:44:19Speaker 8: One game, and it's just a one game sample size.
- 1:44:23Speaker 8: It seemed like all the talents just want to win
- 1:44:26Speaker 8: a ring. They're stealing a page from the Knicks. This
- 1:44:32Speaker 8: is a year that numbers being voted to the all-star game,
- 1:44:37Speaker 8: all that stuff does not matter. The biggest thing that
- 1:44:41Speaker 8: will matter for this season is is that we win
- 1:44:44Speaker 8: the championship. It almost made me feel like an Olympic team.
- 1:44:50Speaker 8: You know, our guys go to the Olympics, and it
- 1:44:52Speaker 8: stops being about needing to be 30 points. It's just
- 1:44:56Speaker 8: how we're going to win. That's what I saw, and
- 1:44:58Speaker 8: that's what Nick's won because it's just a thing of
- 1:45:04Speaker 8: following to try to get a ring, and that sometimes
- 1:45:07Speaker 8: is lost. the determination of getting the ring. I'm surprised
- 1:45:10Speaker 8: because that's your dad team and you're going against your dad.
- 1:45:14Speaker 12: Hey, look, my good friend, 76ers, I've been giving him
- 1:45:19Speaker 12: a hard time.
- 1:45:20Speaker 5: Like you said, you got an Olympic team. Let me
- 1:45:22Speaker 5: see what y'all going to do.
- 1:45:24Speaker 8: The Milwaukee Brewers are facing some backlash because Comanche Greg
- 1:45:29Speaker 8: bought Timeless Ticket promo back 11 years ago. And now
- 1:45:36Speaker 8: some of those thousands of fans, a little bit over
- 1:45:39Speaker 8: a thousand people, did purchase and buy into the promo.
- 1:45:43Speaker 8: The timeless ticket allowed them to redeem up to three
- 1:45:47Speaker 8: tickets for future games. And really, it's not that they
- 1:45:51Speaker 8: didn't let them redeem them. As I saw Comanche, Big Kenny,
- 1:45:54Speaker 8: Bad Producer, it's just the people didn't appreciate the seating.
- 1:46:00Speaker 5: Oh, you wanted behind the home plate. I guess they
- 1:46:03Speaker 5: wanted it on the third.
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: They wanted it.
- 1:46:05Speaker 5: On the third baseline. You wanted it behind home plate,
- 1:46:09Speaker 5: third baseline. Third baseline. Fourth row. No, they was on
- 1:46:13Speaker 5: third baseline.
- 1:46:14Speaker 11: That's where you wanted it. But they was in section 300. No,
- 1:46:16Speaker 11: but I'm saying you got in, though.
- 1:46:18Speaker 5: I would say the Brewers, if they were smart, they
- 1:46:20Speaker 5: would pick like the 200 level, a certain section, almost
- 1:46:23Speaker 5: like the family section, and just say this is the time.
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: Right there in the middle. This is the time section
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: where I just put all of them. So you would
- 1:46:31Speaker 5: actually know. It would be roped off. Yeah, we all together. Hey, man,
- 1:46:35Speaker 5: what's up, y'all?
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: They were told the seats weren't available. They were told
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: that certain seats weren't available. It's the first time in
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: 44 years. There were better seats than what they got
- 1:46:44Speaker 2: that were available. So they could have got better seats.
- 1:46:49Speaker 5: I'm like you, Sports Jock.
- 1:46:50Speaker 11: I would put a commemorative towel or t-shirt or something
- 1:46:54Speaker 11: in the section when you sit down, you've got your cup,
- 1:46:56Speaker 11: you've got your t-shirt, and then we know not to
- 1:46:59Speaker 11: do this again. We know not to run this kind
- 1:47:02Speaker 11: of promotion again, but you can't risk a female having
- 1:47:07Speaker 11: to sit in section 20 and a guy sitting in
- 1:47:11Speaker 11: section 5 and now the Brewers are sexist.
- 1:47:14Speaker 5: And We'll be back with more of the Sports Talk
- 1:47:16Speaker 5: Show right after this.
- 1:47:18Speaker 8: Don't go away.

- 1:48:41Speaker 5: And now, back to the sports jar, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:48:44Speaker 3: Now, it's time for the scoreboard, where we put a
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: spin on life and sports and how they intermingle on
- 1:48:55Speaker 3: the Sports Jock Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:49:00Speaker 5: One song, one song only.
- 1:49:18Speaker 8: Welcome back to the Sports Talk Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:49:21Speaker 8: Talk's Wayne Gandy. Good morning to you, Tennessee Titans. Head
- 1:49:25Speaker 8: coach Robert Sala is trying to defend Jordan Elliott. Jordan Elliott,
- 1:49:30Speaker 8: the big defensive tackle, dismissed from the team.
- 1:49:35Speaker 5: Didn't really know why.
- 1:49:37Speaker 8: He was dismissed, but the Titans and different outlets are
- 1:49:41Speaker 8: saying that Jordan Elliott got into an altercation during practice
- 1:49:50Speaker 8: and then decided that after practice or after the meeting,
- 1:49:57Speaker 8: he was going to get his gun. That's weak, Jordan.
- 1:50:06Speaker 8: It started with hands or whatever it was going. Where
- 1:50:09Speaker 8: are you taking this? First of all, as I was
- 1:50:13Speaker 8: telling you guys about how the NFL and the FBI
- 1:50:15Speaker 8: and all this, they put on the workshops at the
- 1:50:19Speaker 8: beginning that half of us fall asleep. Tell them about
- 1:50:21Speaker 8: the workshop, boss. Well, the workshop typically is after a
- 1:50:25Speaker 8: long practice at 7 o'clock at night right after dinner
- 1:50:31Speaker 8: during training camp. And you're tired. And they start putting
- 1:50:34Speaker 8: on these skits. And the three things that was commonly
- 1:50:39Speaker 8: in all those years that they addressed, first and foremost,
- 1:50:43Speaker 8: as I have shared with you, they started off with gambling. Now,
- 1:50:49Speaker 8: we've seen them change their attitude, but the first thing
- 1:50:52Speaker 8: they want to let you know, Commander Greg, above all
- 1:50:55Speaker 8: the things that you could do, don't mess my money up.
- 1:51:00Speaker 16: Uh-uh.
- 1:51:00Speaker 5: Don't mess the money. Put this game up.
- 1:51:02Speaker 8: Now, you're thinking, oh, no, a little murder, a little
- 1:51:04Speaker 8: lightweight sexual assault. Because we done all done a little
- 1:51:08Speaker 8: murder and a little lightweight sexual assault.
- 1:51:11Speaker 5: Am I right?
- 1:51:11Speaker 8: But they would start off with gambling. Then they would
- 1:51:16Speaker 8: move to domestic violence situations.
- 1:51:20Speaker 5: And then the third was always about guns. They would
- 1:51:23Speaker 5: let you know. That guns are not permitted.
- 1:51:27Speaker 8: Bad thing. Guns bad. They're not even permitted in the
- 1:51:31Speaker 8: car at anything that's officially teamed. It means that if
- 1:51:37Speaker 8: we're going to Target to hand out Christmas toys. I
- 1:51:42Speaker 8: could be leaving from my house.
- 1:51:44Speaker 5: You cannot bring your gun. Don't bring your gun. It's
- 1:51:48Speaker 5: not permitted. Guns bad. Period. Period. Can't even have it
- 1:51:52Speaker 5: in the car. That's how extreme it was.
- 1:51:53Speaker 8: If we're going over to talk to some kids, you
- 1:51:57Speaker 8: cannot bring your, that makes it an official team event
- 1:52:01Speaker 8: and you can't bring your gun.
- 1:52:03Speaker 5: You can't bring it to the facility. You can't bring
- 1:52:05Speaker 5: it to the airport. It can never be on your possession.
- 1:52:08Speaker 5: Anything team. So right there is the violation. That right
- 1:52:14Speaker 5: there is just, you know, wait and see. Even if
- 1:52:20Speaker 5: they let him go, but the NFL, I'm quite sure
- 1:52:22Speaker 5: we're going to see a suspension. That is just the
- 1:52:25Speaker 5: gun wasn't even supposed to be out in the car.
- 1:52:27Speaker 5: You don't even have the ability.
- 1:52:31Speaker 8: Because the hands weren't quick enough at practice to go
- 1:52:34Speaker 8: to your car. Now, we saw this with the young
- 1:52:40Speaker 8: man with the Chiefs. That got overlooked because he killed himself.
- 1:52:45Speaker 8: But that gun wasn't even supposed to be in the
- 1:52:48Speaker 8: car at the facility. It's just something they have stamped.
- 1:52:52Speaker 8: So right there, that's where the Tennessee Titans just have
- 1:52:55Speaker 8: to cut bait on that and let that ride. Hopefully
- 1:52:59Speaker 8: he gets another chance. Doesn't mean he's a bad guy.
- 1:53:02Speaker 8: It just means that. they were definitely within the framework
- 1:53:06Speaker 8: of something they need to remove.
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: This was an HR issue.
- 1:53:09Speaker 5: This. And what's his name again? Jordan Elliott. Jordan Elliott.
- 1:53:14Speaker 11: And this is a philosophical question, but what exists? Or,
- 1:53:20Speaker 11: better question, what is there missing that you, a person
- 1:53:25Speaker 11: who has earned your way onto an NFL team, with
- 1:53:29Speaker 11: the established reality that this is up there with the dice.
- 1:53:33Speaker 11: Don't mess up my money. The dice and the guns.
- 1:53:36Speaker 11: Them two things, the rest of that stuff, they was
- 1:53:38Speaker 11: on some aim, bro. I play it by ear. But
- 1:53:40Speaker 11: they told us no dice, no guns. And I didn't
- 1:53:44Speaker 11: not only got into.
- 1:53:45Speaker 8: A fight at work, but I'm finna go past all
- 1:53:48Speaker 8: of these established rules to do something I know I
- 1:53:51Speaker 8: shouldn't be doing.
- 1:53:52Speaker 5: Where does that lack of emotional control come from?
- 1:53:56Speaker 8: The fact that he brought the gun means to me
- 1:53:59Speaker 8: he must have fell asleep in the meeting. That's what
- 1:54:03Speaker 8: I'm trying to say. It's not just your emotions to
- 1:54:06Speaker 8: go get the gun. The gun is not even supposed
- 1:54:10Speaker 8: to be in the car. And that's what I'm saying.
- 1:54:12Speaker 8: And this is my thing. That's a team violation.
- 1:54:15Speaker 11: And personal story, there's someone in my neighborhood who has
- 1:54:19Speaker 11: one of those cars with a loud muffler. My mama
- 1:54:22Speaker 11: say she prayin'. that they make enough money that they
- 1:54:24Speaker 11: can get their muffler fixed. And I explained to her, mama,
- 1:54:27Speaker 11: they paid to make the muffler sound like that. Like,
- 1:54:31Speaker 11: this is not anybody in a struggle. This person wants
- 1:54:35Speaker 11: their muffler sounding like that. So for us to somehow
- 1:54:38Speaker 11: assume that.
- 1:54:41Speaker 11: This dude fell asleep or missed anything.
- 1:54:45Speaker 5: Maybe he just thanked himself.
- 1:54:47Speaker 2: He's smarter than.
- 1:54:48Speaker 5: The rest of the NFL. I'm going to put the
- 1:54:49Speaker 5: gun in the car. Like, they're not going to check
- 1:54:50Speaker 5: my car. Correct. That's all. And then he told on himself.
- 1:54:54Speaker 8: I'm saying. How you get that emotional? You got in
- 1:54:57Speaker 8: with the gun. So since you that dumb, I would
- 1:55:00Speaker 8: like you to leave.
- 1:55:01Speaker 5: How you get that dumb? Security.
- 1:55:03Speaker 8: That's my point. How you get that dumb? I done
- 1:55:06Speaker 8: snuck in with the gun.
- 1:55:08Speaker 5: And then I'm.
- 1:55:09Speaker 8: Going to go, hey, hey, I tell y'all what, you
- 1:55:11Speaker 8: kicking him out, but I got a gun too. And
- 1:55:15Speaker 8: that's why he just checked all the boxes to be released.
- 1:55:20Speaker 8: Miles Smith, the son of Lovey Smith and Lovey, the
- 1:55:24Speaker 8: former Bears head coach, longtime NFL coach, defensive coordinator. They
- 1:55:29Speaker 8: are two and six out at Desert Ridge High School
- 1:55:32Speaker 8: in Arizona. But they have both stepped down out of
- 1:55:36Speaker 8: their position. Miles Smith was the head coach, had Lovey on.
- 1:55:40Speaker 8: They were coaching together. And all this then comes from
- 1:55:46Speaker 8: that Miles and Lovey decided to dismiss Gunnar Brewer, the quarterback.
- 1:55:55Speaker 8: He pulled a Hollywood movie stunt where he decided to
- 1:56:00Speaker 8: change the play Now, the play succeeded, and they won
- 1:56:06Speaker 8: the game, but Lovey and his son still felt like
- 1:56:10Speaker 8: they were disrespected.
- 1:56:11Speaker 5: Don't be thinking for yourself.
- 1:56:14Speaker 8: They decided to release him, and the players on the
- 1:56:17Speaker 8: team did not agree with it. I guess the players
- 1:56:21Speaker 8: felt like, hey, maybe that's a game suspension or something.
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: They asked the players, like, who thinks we should bring
- 1:56:29Speaker 2: Gunner back on the team? And like 12, 13 players
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: raised their hands like, okay, y'all off the team too.
- 1:56:35Speaker 8: Yes, and I think that they were just– that's a
- 1:56:38Speaker 8: reflection of just not being happy with Generation Z right
- 1:56:43Speaker 8: there and how they perform and the frustrations of losing
- 1:56:47Speaker 8: when you're two and six. But it's funny, and you
- 1:56:51Speaker 8: see it all the times at the end of the
- 1:56:53Speaker 8: movie where the quarterback– defies the coach and calls what
- 1:56:58Speaker 8: he wants.
- 1:56:58Speaker 5: That's varsity blues. That's varsity blues. I'm saying, and as
- 1:57:03Speaker 5: a coach. It didn't happen. Remember the Titans.
- 1:57:05Speaker 11: As a coach, as a coach now, a lot of
- 1:57:08Speaker 11: people would put pressure on you to not make those
- 1:57:12Speaker 11: kinds of decisions because they somehow see the players as
- 1:57:15Speaker 11: as equal or even greater than the coaches. But when
- 1:57:18Speaker 11: you're talking about taking control of a team, does that
- 1:57:20Speaker 11: make sense to you?
- 1:57:21Speaker 5: Like, I don't care how well it worked. You didn't
- 1:57:25Speaker 5: do what I asked you to do.
- 1:57:27Speaker 11: Now, had it not worked, the responsibility would have still
- 1:57:31Speaker 11: been the burden of mine to bear, and I couldn't
- 1:57:34Speaker 11: have been hard on you because you're just a kid.
- 1:57:36Speaker 2: Reportedly, the year before, like this saying where it said, well,
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: the last coach let me do it.
- 1:57:42Speaker 5: Oh, see, there we go.
- 1:57:43Speaker 2: But it had been established that, no, no audibles.
- 1:57:46Speaker 8: And it's no surprise that Lovey Smith, and it's no
- 1:57:50Speaker 8: surprise that his son Miles, because Lovey would have taught
- 1:57:53Speaker 8: him that. It's a true old school, coaches would pull
- 1:57:57Speaker 8: you for taking a bad three. They didn't care whether
- 1:57:59Speaker 8: you made the three. Coaches would pull you from the
- 1:58:04Speaker 8: baseball diamond for just deciding you're going to steal the
- 1:58:07Speaker 8: ball steal the base they don't care whether you made
- 1:58:12Speaker 8: the steal or not it's the same thing in football
- 1:58:16Speaker 8: you could have a great thing going you could do
- 1:58:19Speaker 8: but it was the principles that they felt like their
- 1:58:21Speaker 8: part is also to teach you the chain of command.
- 1:58:25Speaker 12: That's why you should play individual sports instead of a
- 1:58:29Speaker 12: team sport because you fall in that.
- 1:58:32Speaker 5: When you're on the team, you got to go with
- 1:58:33Speaker 5: the team. And that's why.
- 1:58:34Speaker 8: And that's just a little kind of old school. That's
- 1:58:38Speaker 8: that Nick Saban, never letting you, regardless of the outcome,
- 1:58:42Speaker 8: unless you did the outcome in the way that it
- 1:58:44Speaker 8: was supposed to be done, it still was wrong. The
- 1:58:48Speaker 8: results of the scoreboard did not matter. I don't care
- 1:58:53Speaker 8: if you picked the guy up and threw him over
- 1:58:55Speaker 8: the fence, Wayne. You still did it with your right hand.
- 1:59:00Speaker 8: You were supposed to be doing it with your left hand.
- 1:59:04Speaker 8: And you're in there trying to explain that you picked
- 1:59:07Speaker 8: him up and threw him over the fence. That's not
- 1:59:09Speaker 8: what the coach sees. He sees it as, yeah, but
- 1:59:13Speaker 8: when the competition is better and you try to do
- 1:59:17Speaker 8: that with your right hand, you're going to fail. So
- 1:59:22Speaker 8: you didn't do it right. And that's just that old
- 1:59:25Speaker 8: school coaching that Lovey, whatever Lovey is, probably about 70 now,
- 1:59:31Speaker 8: they just don't let you do. And you hear a
- 1:59:33Speaker 8: lot of coaches when I do games, they understand, especially
- 1:59:37Speaker 8: based on where they live.
- 1:59:39Speaker 11: And his son was the head coach, but he's scared
- 1:59:42Speaker 11: to say something because he don't want to get a whooping.
- 1:59:44Speaker 5: And we are in the ocean. The truth is, he
- 1:59:49Speaker 5: will throw your a * * in the ocean.
- 1:59:51Speaker 3: It's time to wrap things up.
- 1:59:54Speaker 5: On the Sports Jack Show with Wayne.
- 2:00:25Speaker 8: When you hear the sounds of the ocean, it gives
- 2:00:26Speaker 8: the Sports Talk Chess a minute to vent. We'd like
- 2:00:28Speaker 8: to thank you for tuning in at any point today,
- 2:00:31Speaker 8: this week, any show. We appreciate all the comments to
- 2:00:36Speaker 8: help us have a better show. Comanche Greg, Big Kenny.
- 2:00:40Speaker 8: Bad producer, thank you for your contributions today. If you
- 2:00:44Speaker 8: missed any of the show, you can go to Amazon Podcasts,
- 2:00:47Speaker 8: Apple Podcasts, Audible, Deezer, iHeartRadio, Spotify, and hit a replay
- 2:00:54Speaker 8: of the show. One of the guys on the show,
- 2:00:58Speaker 8: the bad producer, sent me a story that I had
- 2:01:00Speaker 8: already written down. So that's why, this gentleman. Because if
- 2:01:05Speaker 8: the bad producer sent something, I'm scared that me and
- 2:01:08Speaker 8: him had the same information.
- 2:01:11Speaker 5: But it is a delight. I understand.
- 2:01:16Speaker 8: But I still have to put you in the ocean.
- 2:01:19Speaker 8: And that's 64-year-old. Terry Ward out of Virginia. Terry was
- 2:01:27Speaker 8: arrested last Sunday because he said she going to learn today.
- 2:01:35Speaker 8: Terry wanted to watch sports, NFL action. Wife was getting
- 2:01:43Speaker 8: on his nerves. Terry duct taped her to a chair. Ha, ha, ha, ha.
- 2:01:51Speaker 5: And Big Kenny, even you. I ain't judging.
- 2:01:55Speaker 8: I ain't judging because we done all duct taped my
- 2:01:58Speaker 8: wife to a chair.
- 2:01:58Speaker 5: Am I right? Not even you.
- 2:02:00Speaker 8: I thought about it. I put the tape on the
- 2:02:04Speaker 8: little table between us. Terry, for about an hour, 45
- 2:02:10Speaker 8: minutes to an hour, officials say his wife was duct
- 2:02:14Speaker 8: taped to a chair. They could see the adhesive around
- 2:02:18Speaker 8: her arms.
- 2:02:22Speaker 5: He had had enough. I don't know why he just
- 2:02:24Speaker 5: didn't get his car keys and leave.
- 2:02:25Speaker 21: I mean.
- 2:02:26Speaker 5: Went to the Buffalo Wild Wings. Went to the Wild Wings.
- 2:02:28Speaker 5: Went to the Tavern. Went to the Sports Bar. Buffalo
- 2:02:33Speaker 5: Wild Wings. Terry.
- 2:02:34Speaker 11: Terry name on all these bills. Why Terry got to
- 2:02:38Speaker 11: leave the house for some peace and quiet.
- 2:02:40Speaker 5: Back up, Terry.
- 2:02:40Speaker 13: Terry.
- 2:02:41Speaker 5: Watch out, Terry.
- 2:02:42Speaker 8: This Terry house. Terry has been arrested. A little lightweight
- 2:02:47Speaker 8: kidnapping and holding somebody. But I ain't judging because Whedon
- 2:02:53Speaker 8: R done a little lightweight kidnapping on my right. A
- 2:02:57Speaker 8: little holding somebody against their will. Back up, Terry. Terry Ward, 64-year-old.
- 2:03:04Speaker 8: I guess she going to learn today.
- 2:03:05Speaker 5: They never did say who his team was.
- 2:03:07Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 2:03:15Speaker 5: Things y'all go to jail for. This is crazy, man.
- 2:03:18Speaker 5: Just leave.
- 2:03:19Speaker 8: Just get your keys and leave.
- 2:03:22Speaker 6: 8-9.
- 2:03:23Speaker 5: 8-9. For Big Kenny.
- 2:03:25Speaker 8: Every time I open up one of these pieces of
- 2:03:28Speaker 8: paper with folks asking for money, it got Terry's name
- 2:03:32Speaker 8: on it.
