- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:00Speaker 2: That Uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The
- 0:06Speaker 2: rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:09Speaker 2: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go to eighty. It was
- 0:14Speaker 2: bo wow that prime time. Maybe I had a crush
- 0:18Speaker 2: on Betty Rubbele. I honestly, until after the segment ended
- 0:21Speaker 2: and we went to commercial break, had no idea that
- 0:24Speaker 2: Jonathan Coachman was black. He caught them the game last night,
- 0:27Speaker 2: although they won the game.
- 0:29Speaker 3: You're listening to Stu Godson Company.
- 0:41Speaker 2: He's a busy man. He works seven days a week.
- 0:44Speaker 2: He just finished up the Golcks on ESPN Radio. He
- 0:46Speaker 2: has Notre Dame football on Saturday, NFL football on Sundays.
- 0:50Speaker 2: He's not taking a day off. His wife must be
- 0:52Speaker 2: so happy. He's Mike Goli. Good morning to you, Mike.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Yeah, you're right. I think my wife's getting a lot
- 0:59Speaker 4: of joy on being gone. That's very, very true. I
- 1:02Speaker 4: need to look into that.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Did you notice money? Yeah, out of money? Right? Did
- 1:07Speaker 2: you notice?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:08Speaker 2: Was she pushing you towards the Notre Dame job or not? Like,
- 1:11Speaker 2: did you notice that at all? Yeah?
- 1:13Speaker 4: Actually, she was pushing me toward that, but that more
- 1:16Speaker 4: as a bucket list thing, quite honestly got it. Yeah,
- 1:19Speaker 4: as a kind of a very a cool thing to do.
- 1:21Speaker 4: I'm really really happy to do that.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Was she trying to tell you not to do Westwood
- 1:26Speaker 2: one this season?
- 1:27Speaker 4: I mean, well, basically, we're gonna see how it all goes.
- 1:31Speaker 4: We're gonna see me doing actually doing the games. Two
- 1:35Speaker 4: games is not going to be an issue. It's the travel.
- 1:38Speaker 4: As you guys know, when you travel a lot, right,
- 1:41Speaker 4: you know you're crossing your fingers all the time. We're
- 1:44Speaker 4: gonna we're gonna have to see what the travel does
- 1:46Speaker 4: to my sixty three year old body.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Have you started to look at that like a game
- 1:50Speaker 2: in South Bend on Saturday and you got to be
- 1:52Speaker 2: in New York or Florida? Unlike.
- 1:56Speaker 4: That's the one thing my wife is as good as
- 1:59Speaker 4: any travel agent getting the flight set for me to
- 2:03Speaker 4: tell that the people that are paying for the flights.
- 2:06Speaker 4: I have all my flights done through the college season,
- 2:10Speaker 4: for college and NFL.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Oh my god, what a ridiculous time we are
- 2:16Speaker 2: in sports when you have the Kwan Wright who's drafted
- 2:21Speaker 2: by the Cleveland Browns, played at Old Miss and now
- 2:24Speaker 2: has decided he's going to go back to LSU. What
- 2:27Speaker 2: it's not By the way, this is the first, it's
- 2:29Speaker 2: not going to be the last. What do you make
- 2:31Speaker 2: of this?
- 2:32Speaker 4: Well, I mean, I think everybody needs to take a
- 2:36Speaker 4: breath on this one. Because A he was undrafted, he
- 2:41Speaker 4: wasn't drafted. You're not going to happen to drafted players. Two,
- 2:45Speaker 4: this is only for twenty twenty two twenty twenty three
- 2:50Speaker 4: academic year players who have played four consecutive seasons looking
- 2:56Speaker 4: for their fifth year. Let me preface this all by saying,
- 2:59Speaker 4: this is adults in the room not taking charge when
- 3:03Speaker 4: they should have right when they should have included these
- 3:06Speaker 4: guys in the five for five, but they didn't. So
- 3:09Speaker 4: what And I don't blame the players for this. What
- 3:12Speaker 4: do the players do? They go to court and they win.
- 3:14Speaker 4: So I do not blame the players at all for
- 3:17Speaker 4: doing this. But guys, this is so specific to the
- 3:21Speaker 4: twenty twenty two class who played four years consecutively. This
- 3:26Speaker 4: is only going to affect a couple of players in football,
- 3:30Speaker 4: maybe some players in other sports, and then it's over.
- 3:34Speaker 1: It's now.
- 3:35Speaker 4: Does that mean down the road there might be some lawsuits?
- 3:38Speaker 4: Who knows but as far as this situation, this is
- 3:41Speaker 4: a one year, finite thing that will affect a couple
- 3:45Speaker 4: of people. It looks odd because you're going to the NFL,
- 3:49Speaker 4: then you're going back to college. But where have we
- 3:52Speaker 4: seen it already? We've seen it in the NBA. A
- 3:54Speaker 4: college basketball player declares for the draft, doesn't get drafted,
- 3:58Speaker 4: and goes back into college. So we're seeing it now
- 4:02Speaker 4: for this one specific year in college football. I do
- 4:06Speaker 4: not think this is gonna We're gonna run rampant with this, Mike.
- 4:09Speaker 5: My only problem in this situation is the coaches in
- 4:12Speaker 5: college that are sounding off about NFL players returning to
- 4:16Speaker 5: college football, the Dan Lannings of the world, saying that
- 4:18Speaker 5: it's not fair if some of these guys wanted to
- 4:21Speaker 5: go to Oregon. I don't think Dan Lanning would have
- 4:23Speaker 5: a problem with Now that's my only thing. Nope, Yeah,
- 4:26Speaker 5: I mean there's one thing to saying it's not fair.
- 4:29Speaker 5: There's another thing to saying, Listen, the season starting, there's
- 4:33Speaker 5: no room on the roster because if you put one on,
- 4:35Speaker 5: you gotta take one off. I would buy more that
- 4:38Speaker 5: more than saying how fair it is fair? Is is
- 4:42Speaker 5: you know what we buy fried oreos.
- 4:45Speaker 4: At that's a fair there's no more fair in college
- 4:49Speaker 4: football again again because the adults in the room years
- 4:53Speaker 4: ago didn't put up any guidelines, they're the cause.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Of all this.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Wow, Taylor put it on the poll, is fair where
- 5:00Speaker 2: you buy fried oreos from? He's right, that was a
- 5:04Speaker 2: great line.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:06Speaker 2: The least surprising thing in all of this he's so
- 5:08Speaker 2: proud of himself. The least surprise anything, you should have
- 5:12Speaker 2: saved that for your son. The least surprising thing in
- 5:18Speaker 2: all of this is that Lane Kiffin is capitalizing on this, right, Yes, and.
- 5:22Speaker 4: He could have two of the players. And oh, by
- 5:24Speaker 4: the way, you know there's a rule from transferring from
- 5:29Speaker 4: school to school in the SEC. But is he really
- 5:33Speaker 4: transferring from Ole Miss to LSU? Or is he transferring
- 5:37Speaker 4: from the Cleveland Browns to LSU. I mean, it is
- 5:41Speaker 4: so convoluted right now, but this is this is again
- 5:45Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin. Now, Dan Lanning doesn't have a roster to turnover.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Marcus Freeman said, there's no room for players like that
- 5:52Speaker 4: in our team doesn't have a roster to turnover. LSU
- 5:56Speaker 4: is turning over their roster. So again, while it's going
- 5:59Speaker 4: going to be a few plays. It's only going to
- 6:01Speaker 4: be to a few specific teams who are turning their
- 6:03Speaker 4: rosters over.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Mike.
- 6:05Speaker 2: What'd you make here? Adam Schefter reported today that Deshaun
- 6:08Speaker 2: Watson will be the brown starting quarterback. What do you
- 6:11Speaker 2: make of that decision?
- 6:12Speaker 4: Oh, I think it's the wrong decision. I had said
- 6:14Speaker 4: all along, if it was close, I would give it
- 6:18Speaker 4: to Shador and see what he could do. Now, I
- 6:21Speaker 4: have not seen them at practice. I have not seen
- 6:24Speaker 4: them when they practice with other teams, So full disclosure.
- 6:27Speaker 4: I've just watched the preseason games, and we know they
- 6:29Speaker 4: go on more than that. But I still don't think
- 6:33Speaker 4: there was anything where you said, oh, Deshaun Watson won that,
- 6:38Speaker 4: and I thought, if it was close, they should see
- 6:40Speaker 4: what they have in Shadoor Sanders. I'm somewhat amazed at this,
- 6:44Speaker 4: But you know what I'm amazed at. It's not just
- 6:48Speaker 4: with Todd Munkin in this quarterback situation. Go back how
- 6:51Speaker 4: many head coaches and how many quarterbacks where this team
- 6:56Speaker 4: has been an absolute disaster in the quarterback room. So
- 7:01Speaker 4: and at the end of the day, if you're a
- 7:04Speaker 4: betting man, aren't you betting they're going to draft someone
- 7:07Speaker 4: out of the twenty seven class to take over the
- 7:09Speaker 4: quarterback spot. But I would definitely be seeing We know
- 7:13Speaker 4: Shidoor Sanders is in the fifth round talent, we know
- 7:15Speaker 4: he's higher than that. We just know he had some
- 7:18Speaker 4: issues at the combine and dealing with coaches that dropped
- 7:23Speaker 4: him too the fifth ront. But we know he's a
- 7:24Speaker 4: better talent than that. I would absolutely see what you
- 7:28Speaker 4: have in him. By the way, you have the hometown fans.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Deshaun Watson talking about being booed by the hometown fans
- 7:36Speaker 4: and cheered when he was hurt. My son brought this
- 7:38Speaker 4: up on the show, and it's true. They don't have
- 7:41Speaker 4: a home game until the third game of the season.
- 7:45Speaker 4: What are the odds by the time they get to
- 7:47Speaker 4: that first home game, he's not even starting anymore.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Well, if they're two and oh one percent, he's going
- 7:53Speaker 2: to be the starter, oh yeah. And if they're o
- 7:56Speaker 2: with two probably not, you know.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean, it's just an amazing situation.
- 8:02Speaker 2: There if you're Todd Monkin and you're trying to win
- 8:05Speaker 2: football games. Because you're right, Mike, we're not there every
- 8:08Speaker 2: single day. We're just seeing him in the preseason. He
- 8:11Speaker 2: didn't make the trade. He inherited this player and this problem.
- 8:15Speaker 2: He didn't make the trade, for all we know, if
- 8:17Speaker 2: he were in charge, the trade never happens. But it happened,
- 8:21Speaker 2: And so he wants to give himself and the team
- 8:23Speaker 2: the best chance to win football games. Do you blame
- 8:25Speaker 2: him if he thinks the guy right?
- 8:28Speaker 4: No? No again, if he is allowed to just make
- 8:31Speaker 4: the coach's decision and there was no influence by the
- 8:34Speaker 4: GM or the owners, and you're right, he has no
- 8:38Speaker 4: tie to either one of these guys, right. He's just saying,
- 8:41Speaker 4: who gives me the best chance to win? And that's
- 8:44Speaker 4: all he should be concerned about. Between that and the
- 8:47Speaker 4: rest of the players in the locker room. It's just unfortunately,
- 8:51Speaker 4: you know, the choices aren't great choices. But again, I
- 8:54Speaker 4: would have gone with Shador to see what I had
- 8:56Speaker 4: in him, saying.
- 8:58Speaker 5: Mike, I know you you love football in the trenches.
- 9:01Speaker 5: You on the defensive side, your son on the offensive side.
- 9:05Speaker 5: I'm sure you saw this. The Joe Moore Award, they
- 9:08Speaker 5: recognize the most outstanding offensive line unit in college football.
- 9:12Speaker 5: All these awards put out their watch list. Did you
- 9:15Speaker 5: see what team made the watch list for the offensive line?
- 9:18Speaker 5: Joe More Award.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I did not.
- 9:20Speaker 4: I know Mike has a vote in that, but I
- 9:23Speaker 4: did not.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Who do they have any guesses what teams made the
- 9:26Speaker 5: watch list?
- 9:27Speaker 4: I would say Notre Dame made the watch list.
- 9:30Speaker 5: Notre Dame made the watch list, But so did all
- 9:33Speaker 5: one hundred and thirty eight FBS offensive lines. Because this
- 9:37Speaker 5: award has never been about predictions. It's about what shows
- 9:40Speaker 5: up on tape. That's what they said.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Woo, I got tingles?
- 9:44Speaker 4: How about that? But how about that?
- 9:47Speaker 2: Well, how about Ojo having a vote.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Oh yeah, no, Mike has a Heisman vote too. Jesus,
- 9:54Speaker 4: But I like that, no preconceived notions like the preseason
- 9:57Speaker 4: Paul always gets ripped.
- 9:59Speaker 1: They don't.
- 10:00Speaker 4: One hundred and thirty eight teams have a chance for it.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I love that.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Yes, that that sounds very O lineish.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Play it out all.
- 10:07Speaker 6: Them, can't wait for for Mike to vrope for a
- 10:10Speaker 6: card for hide.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Mean yeah that's true too, Yeah, play it out on
- 10:15Speaker 4: the field.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Goal Like that's what you're saying. You like that, right,
- 10:18Speaker 2: prove it on the field, Yes, absolutely, go ahead, mikeyek
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah what uh?
- 10:23Speaker 6: Going back to the NFL, I've been looking at this offseason,
- 10:26Speaker 6: and it's felt really weird to me and I couldn't
- 10:28Speaker 6: quite put my finger on it.
- 10:30Speaker 1: And then somebody pointed it out to me.
- 10:32Speaker 4: The Cowboys haven't had any.
- 10:33Speaker 6: Drama, Like there's been no massive holdout, Like even George
- 10:37Speaker 6: Pickens is just kind of doing it quietly showing up.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Could did they like get it right now? Like?
- 10:43Speaker 6: Are we finally going to see a Cowboys team that
- 10:46Speaker 6: lives up to the expectations.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Like West We say no drama. We mean Jerry Jones
- 10:51Speaker 4: hasn't spoken up a lot.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yes, has it a word?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Yes?
- 10:54Speaker 4: So here's my thought on the on the Cowboys. Their
- 10:57Speaker 4: offense is super Bowl caliber, no doubt about it. I mean,
- 11:01Speaker 4: it's a fantastic offense. The defense they and the Cincinnati
- 11:06Speaker 4: Bengals kind of mirror one another. Great offense, tough defense.
- 11:10Speaker 4: Both put a lot of effort into the defense. Now
- 11:14Speaker 4: that being said, I still never would have traded Michael Parsons.
- 11:17Speaker 4: You don't trade a player like that in my opinion.
- 11:20Speaker 4: But they've gotten a lot of pieces for him, and
- 11:23Speaker 4: then they've added on pieces. Now, the thing about that
- 11:27Speaker 4: is it's all on paper right now. On paper, do
- 11:30Speaker 4: they look better on defense? Absolutely? We have to wait
- 11:34Speaker 4: and see if practical application. They are same with Cincinnati.
- 11:38Speaker 4: They loaded up on the defense, especially d line, and
- 11:42Speaker 4: what we have to wait and see does that pan out,
- 11:46Speaker 4: because the offense isn't an issue for either one of
- 11:48Speaker 4: those teams. But it has been quiet, and I doubt
- 11:53Speaker 4: anybody got to Jerry because Jerry is not like he's
- 11:56Speaker 4: going to listen to anybody. He's gonna do what he.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Wants to do.
- 11:59Speaker 4: But maybe he is letting him and Steven Jones' action
- 12:02Speaker 4: speak now of all the talent that they brought it
- 12:05Speaker 4: on defense, which would be kind of wild.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Mike will get you out here on this Mendoza,
- 12:12Speaker 2: who's the nicest quarterback I've ever seen. Too nice. Some
- 12:16Speaker 2: would say it has to be Kirk Cousins though, that
- 12:18Speaker 2: has to be the starter for the Raiders, right, Oh.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, he'll start. I think it's going to
- 12:23Speaker 4: go down like any And remember normally first overall pick
- 12:29Speaker 4: quarterbacks have started Week one, but they absolutely should start
- 12:34Speaker 4: Kirk Cousins. I think if you bring in a Kirk Cousins,
- 12:37Speaker 4: you owe it to the other fifty two guys in
- 12:39Speaker 4: the locker room to make an attempt to be competitive.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Everybody zero and zero.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Everybody has aspirations. But I think what will happen is
- 12:48Speaker 4: is you'll play it by ear. Even if Kirk Cousins
- 12:51Speaker 4: is playing well, if the team is not winning, and
- 12:54Speaker 4: the team is not competitive in the division, at some point,
- 12:58Speaker 4: week seven, week eight, week ten, at some point you say, Okay,
- 13:03Speaker 4: we need to start getting the young guys some reps.
- 13:05Speaker 4: We need to start getting his eyes watered and his
- 13:08Speaker 4: nose bloodied. Let him finish the season as the starter
- 13:11Speaker 4: and the key. Let him go into next offseason as
- 13:15Speaker 4: the number one quarterback to let them build the offense
- 13:19Speaker 4: around him.
- 13:20Speaker 2: All right, Mike, we appreciate it, as oweys. Mike, Yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 2: you know, Helse has been rather quiet and on good
- 13:26Speaker 2: behavior this offseason. The Jets.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Don't agree.
- 13:33Speaker 4: I mean, I think they've been quiet for different reasons
- 13:37Speaker 4: than the Cowboys.
- 13:39Speaker 2: The Golic's ten to noonies doing on ESPN radio. He's
- 13:43Speaker 2: got Notre Dame football, He's got West Woodward NFL football.
- 13:47Speaker 2: He's got no time for his wife, and that's the
- 13:49Speaker 2: way she likes it. Mike Golick, thank you very much.
- 13:53Speaker 2: We appreciate it. We'll talk to you soon.

- 15:38Speaker 2: In Louisiana, michaelic Senior was short on time. We didn't
- 15:52Speaker 2: get enough football there, so we'll get to more in
- 15:54Speaker 2: just a second. He's short on time because the man
- 15:56Speaker 2: doesn't stop working. I mean, Mike ya, do you remember
- 15:59Speaker 2: him tell us years ago that he was going to
- 16:02Speaker 2: get it down to three to four days a week.
- 16:06Speaker 1: And now he just added two more. There was an
- 16:08Speaker 1: eighth day a week, he'd work it.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Put it on the pall. If there was an eighth
- 16:13Speaker 2: day in the week, would Mike Golick be working it?
- 16:16Speaker 2: I'm with you on that he would be so now
- 16:18Speaker 2: he's taking out He's always done wes Wood one. It's
- 16:20Speaker 2: the Notre Dame part of it that surprised me. But
- 16:23Speaker 2: I guess we shouldn't be surprised. As he said, that's
- 16:26Speaker 2: a dream job for him. So we have big deal
- 16:29Speaker 2: or not a big deal. The NFL is a couple
- 16:31Speaker 2: of weeks away. College football is starting up soon. We
- 16:35Speaker 2: are getting there, guys. It's slow, but we are getting there.
- 16:40Speaker 2: So we're playing big deal or not a big deal?
- 16:42Speaker 2: Mikey take it away.
- 16:45Speaker 6: All right, And it is very okay to just say
- 16:47Speaker 6: this is not a big deal. Well, okay, we'll start here.
- 16:50Speaker 2: The game is big dealer not a big deal. That's
- 16:52Speaker 2: one of my options.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I mean, all right, all right, we'll start here. Yeah.
- 16:57Speaker 6: Las Vegas running back Ashton Genty went down with what
- 17:01Speaker 6: was thought to be a big injury, but it turned
- 17:04Speaker 6: out to be a sprained angle.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Big deal or not a big deal.
- 17:07Speaker 2: So sprained ankle. He'll be ready for the regular season.
- 17:11Speaker 1: To be determined.
- 17:12Speaker 2: All right, I'll say not a big deal because Ashton
- 17:14Speaker 2: Genty is not a big deal. I mean I thought
- 17:18Speaker 2: he was going to be better. It's why you don't
- 17:20Speaker 2: take a running back that high in the NFL draft
- 17:23Speaker 2: If it's just a sprained ankle, not a big deal, Taylor.
- 17:25Speaker 5: Ashton Genty, though, still has potential to be no special
- 17:29Speaker 5: at the running back position. I think with that Raiders
- 17:31Speaker 5: team from last season, you can't judge anybody from that
- 17:35Speaker 5: Raiders team in terms of giving them an evaluation whether
- 17:38Speaker 5: or not they're something special or not. That team was
- 17:41Speaker 5: so historically bad and it seemed like that coaching staff
- 17:44Speaker 5: was so checked out with Pete Carroll that I'm willing
- 17:47Speaker 5: to look past the fact that Ashton Genty wasn't in
- 17:50Speaker 5: a thousand yard rusher. But I'm also going not a
- 17:53Speaker 5: big deal because the talk of Ashen Genty yesterday, I
- 17:57Speaker 5: was reading some of the reports. Yeah, I thought he
- 18:00Speaker 5: was close to death. The way they were talking about
- 18:03Speaker 5: him going down and needing help off the field, I
- 18:06Speaker 5: was like, we might lose Ashton Genty.
- 18:09Speaker 6: They a prayer circle, yes, yes, the entire practice one
- 18:13Speaker 6: to a knee and raid for a sprained ankle.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Taylor put it on the polls at the only time
- 18:18Speaker 2: you've seen a team in a prayer circle for a
- 18:21Speaker 2: sprained ankle.
- 18:24Speaker 5: Anytime you start talking about players going.
- 18:27Speaker 4: To a knee in football.
- 18:28Speaker 5: Yes, it seems like a very very serious situation. That's
- 18:33Speaker 5: why when it comes out today that it's only a
- 18:36Speaker 5: sprained ankle, there is a lot of confusion on what
- 18:40Speaker 5: actually happened in this injury.
- 18:41Speaker 2: All Right, I didn't see it. Did it look gruesome.
- 18:43Speaker 2: There was nothing to the head, right, So it's just
- 18:45Speaker 2: the knee and the ankle essentially, because I remember players
- 18:49Speaker 2: taking a knee. When Nick Chubb got hurt, I did
- 18:51Speaker 2: because it was so gruesome and a lot of people
- 18:53Speaker 2: were thinking to themselves, he's never going to be the
- 18:55Speaker 2: same again, if indeed he ever plays again, you know.
- 18:59Speaker 6: And he was also the engine for that team like that.
- 19:02Speaker 6: That Browns team had a really good defense and they're like, oh,
- 19:04Speaker 6: and we can run the ball with Nick Chubb and
- 19:06Speaker 6: they're like, oh, wait, there goes.
- 19:07Speaker 1: He's like the.
- 19:09Speaker 5: Injuries that we've seen in the past of players taking
- 19:12Speaker 5: a knee for an injury. It's the Kevin Waars at Louisville,
- 19:15Speaker 5: it's DeMar Hamlin in Buffalo Ashton gent He sprained his ankle.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Right, but didn't look gruesome at the time. That's all
- 19:24Speaker 2: I'm saying.
- 19:25Speaker 4: It was practice. We don't. We don't. We don't have footage, all.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Right, so there's no footage. I'm just asking if it
- 19:29Speaker 2: was taken knee worthy. That's all.
- 19:31Speaker 5: The only thing we got was was the Raiders beat
- 19:34Speaker 5: reporter saying he cannot put any pressure on his leg
- 19:38Speaker 5: while he's leaving the field.
- 19:39Speaker 6: Okay, I have a question for you too, that's can
- 19:42Speaker 6: you have a gruesome ankle sprain?
- 19:45Speaker 2: I think you can.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I don't think you can.
- 19:47Speaker 6: I think if you have a gruesome ankle injury, it's
- 19:50Speaker 6: dislocated or it's broken.
- 19:52Speaker 1: If you sprained your ankle, it wasn't gruesome.
- 19:55Speaker 2: No, not a sprain, But you can break your ankle
- 19:58Speaker 2: and have it be gruco agreed, right, agreed? Okay, But.
- 20:02Speaker 1: So it couldn't have been a gruesome injury.
- 20:04Speaker 2: No, you're right. But at the time, the players don't
- 20:06Speaker 2: know that. They're not doctors, they're just NFL players, and
- 20:09Speaker 2: they wanted to take a knee like I'd like. They
- 20:12Speaker 2: were clearly concerned about him, So maybe they thought it
- 20:15Speaker 2: was broken, Maybe it looked worse than it actually was.
- 20:17Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying. The fair or else why else
- 20:21Speaker 2: would they take a knee.
- 20:23Speaker 5: I think it's part of it is because of how
- 20:25Speaker 5: much expectations are on Ashton Genty this season for making
- 20:29Speaker 5: this Raiders team relevant when your quarterback battle is Kirk
- 20:33Speaker 5: Cousins in Fernando Mendoza, right, And for this, I don't
- 20:37Speaker 5: think anybody here is sitting thinking that the Raiders are
- 20:40Speaker 5: going to be some kind of contenders this season.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Right. It's odd that anyone would take a knee and
- 20:43Speaker 2: concern for Ashton Jenty like that's our season right there.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Our season just went up in smoke.
- 20:47Speaker 5: But I do think the Raiders, when you draft Ashen
- 20:49Speaker 5: Genty as high as the Raiders did, do look at
- 20:52Speaker 5: Ashen Genty from that perspective of we need this guy
- 20:55Speaker 5: to be good. We need this guy to be a
- 20:57Speaker 5: Saquon Barkley level running back to justif when we picked him.
- 21:02Speaker 6: You don't want to go into year three of the
- 21:04Speaker 6: Ashton Genty era and think he had a disappointed year
- 21:07Speaker 6: and then he sat out all year. Right now, we're
- 21:10Speaker 6: in year three and we really don't know.
- 21:12Speaker 1: What we have.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Who's worthy of a knee in a prayer circle, if
- 21:15Speaker 2: it's just an ankle or a knate, meaning because your
- 21:18Speaker 2: season is going up as smoke Josh Allen, Josh Allen
- 21:22Speaker 2: is Josh.
- 21:22Speaker 6: All Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes.
- 21:27Speaker 5: I think Caleb Williams is there for Bears.
- 21:29Speaker 2: I think he might be, Yeah, he might be.
- 21:32Speaker 6: I'm trying to think of Stafford any non quarterback right.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Although ty Simpson has looked good two weeks in a
- 21:37Speaker 2: row here, but Stafford would probably be one of them.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Isn't it Stetson Bennett, You're right, I mean anyone does
- 21:42Speaker 2: in that system. Is there a non quarterback that would
- 21:48Speaker 2: be Mark Chase Chaser?
- 21:51Speaker 5: I think they have, they have Higgins. I'm trying to
- 21:53Speaker 5: think on the defensive side of the.
- 21:54Speaker 6: Ball with holes Garrett er busts.
- 21:57Speaker 5: With how much the Broncos count on pats er yehes
- 22:00Speaker 5: to be like the focal point for their defense.
- 22:03Speaker 2: That's a good one.
- 22:03Speaker 5: And when you have patser Tan out there, it almost
- 22:06Speaker 5: eliminates half the field. So I do think pats are
- 22:09Speaker 5: Tan is probably at that level. Maybe Will Anderson with
- 22:12Speaker 5: the Texans.
- 22:13Speaker 2: That's pretty good. Is bo Nicks there? I mean the
- 22:15Speaker 2: drop off his Stidham.
- 22:19Speaker 4: And we saw how bad that dropping.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Well, it kept them in the game, though I he did.
- 22:23Speaker 2: We discussed this.
- 22:24Speaker 1: I had them tied at half.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yep, I'm trying to think if there's any just looking
- 22:30Speaker 2: through the rosters here to see if there's anyone else
- 22:32Speaker 2: who is worthy non quarterback position, worthy of a Braer
- 22:36Speaker 2: circle if they hurt their near ankle. It's a ridiculous
- 22:40Speaker 2: conversation at a play. We're having it August. Yeah, all right,
- 22:46Speaker 2: let's get to the next one. Big deal? Are not
- 22:48Speaker 2: a big deal?
- 22:49Speaker 1: Big dealer? Not a big deal?
- 22:51Speaker 6: The forty nine Ers traded running backs a mere White
- 22:54Speaker 6: to the New Orleans Saints.
- 23:01Speaker 1: That's the end.
- 23:02Speaker 6: This is where you guys answer and we know we're
- 23:04Speaker 6: just we're staring at the choke.
- 23:07Speaker 4: I thought you were going to take the ball first.
- 23:09Speaker 2: I thought you were. I went first. Last time, I
- 23:12Speaker 2: would say, who's the deer White?
- 23:16Speaker 5: The mere White, the former running back, the former Georgia
- 23:19Speaker 5: running back? What the meres the deer? I mean he
- 23:21Speaker 5: at one point was a massive recruit in North Carolina.
- 23:25Speaker 5: There was a time where the tar Heels thought they
- 23:27Speaker 5: were going to get him, and then he got the
- 23:28Speaker 5: Georgia offering, and everybody's like, Okay, you don't go you
- 23:32Speaker 5: don't go to North Carolina. If Kirby smart and Georgia
- 23:36Speaker 5: are knocking on your door. Yeah, I would say it's
- 23:39Speaker 5: it's not a big deal because if you're looking at
- 23:42Speaker 5: this from the forty nine ers perspective, it feels like
- 23:47Speaker 5: you would want as much insurance as possible with Christian
- 23:50Speaker 5: McCaffrey always being on the fence when it comes to injuries.
- 23:54Speaker 2: The last year he was healthy, but the injury is coming. Yeah,
- 23:56Speaker 2: what you're saying.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Yeah, And if if you're that confident to make the
- 24:00Speaker 5: trade of trading away running back depth, even if Zamir
- 24:04Speaker 5: White is the second or third running back in San Francisco,
- 24:07Speaker 5: you at least have to feel somewhat good about where
- 24:09Speaker 5: Christian McCaffrey enters this season, even though he's right now
- 24:13Speaker 5: listed as questions.
- 24:14Speaker 2: So I'm confused, big deal are not a big deal?
- 24:16Speaker 4: I'm saying, not a big deal?
- 24:17Speaker 2: Yeah, Zamir White, not a big deal. I mean, I'm sorry, just.
- 24:21Speaker 6: Yeah, that's all we needed. Tail It's just not a
- 24:22Speaker 6: big deal. History of it, Just say, not a big deal.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Now, Listen, listen, we're criticizing him for not being into football.
- 24:29Speaker 2: He's trying to get into football, and.
- 24:32Speaker 1: He never criticized Tailor.
- 24:33Speaker 2: That was me.
- 24:34Speaker 1: You're right, Well, he played football.
- 24:36Speaker 2: It was me.
- 24:36Speaker 1: You're sat on the bus with him to the media.
- 24:40Speaker 4: I love football.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Let me try it this way. Okay, it's clearly not
- 24:44Speaker 2: a big deal. We're in the business of filling time.
- 24:47Speaker 2: You gave him a question and he filled time for you.
- 24:49Speaker 2: How about that. I appreciate it, Taylor.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Have you guys seen what next up?
- 24:53Speaker 5: Have you guys seen what Deshaun Stribling's been doing for
- 24:55Speaker 5: the forty nine ers? Who is that? That's that's that's
- 24:59Speaker 5: a segment. He's a wide receiver from Old Miss. I'm
- 25:02Speaker 5: pretty sure he's a rookie wide receiver.
- 25:04Speaker 6: Yeah, the first pick of the second round.
- 25:07Speaker 2: I'd be going back to LSU. Anyway.
- 25:10Speaker 4: This is a segment I've been saving guy or not
- 25:12Speaker 4: a guy?
- 25:13Speaker 2: None but the Old Miss guy? What Dell is you?
- 25:14Speaker 2: They go wherever Layton goes?
- 25:16Speaker 1: Anyway? What is that?
- 25:16Speaker 5: This is a segment I've been saving Deshaun Stribling guy
- 25:19Speaker 5: or not a guy because I'm watching him play for
- 25:21Speaker 5: the right now. Guy, he looks like a guy. Guy
- 25:24Speaker 5: eleven catches one and nine yards two preseason games.
- 25:28Speaker 6: Guy.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Not a guy? I like that. Stribling's a guy.
- 25:33Speaker 5: I'm stamping Stribling as a guy right now.
- 25:36Speaker 6: Okay, those are some Victor Cruz preseason numbers.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Can we drive that game out? Guy or not? A guy?
- 25:44Speaker 1: Prepared?
- 25:45Speaker 4: We're only prepared.
- 25:46Speaker 1: We'll get there, all right. It's later in the week.
- 25:48Speaker 2: But Stribling is a guy, just so I'm.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Clear right, definitively a guy, all right.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Next one, Mikey big dealer, not a big deal.
- 25:54Speaker 6: Big dealer, not a big deal. George Kittle activated from
- 25:57Speaker 6: the pup.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Hmmm, I mean that's a big deal, right. George Kittle
- 26:05Speaker 2: is a top five tight end when healthy. He's not
- 26:07Speaker 2: healthy all the time, but when he is on that field,
- 26:09Speaker 2: he changes the game for San Francisco. And so yeah,
- 26:13Speaker 2: that's of course that's a big deal. He's one of
- 26:15Speaker 2: the best tight hands we've ever seen. I love Kittle. Yes,
- 26:18Speaker 2: big deal.
- 26:18Speaker 5: It's a big deal because you pair him with Stribbling
- 26:20Speaker 5: in that offense.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Two guys, two guys, Yeah, a couple of guys cutting
- 26:26Speaker 2: it up.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Stribling, Stribling, McCaffrey.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Stribling going to make the team.
- 26:32Speaker 6: I mean, you know, come on, the first pick of
- 26:36Speaker 6: the second round makes the team.
- 26:38Speaker 2: He's well all the time.
- 26:39Speaker 5: He's borderline like wide receiver one right now for them,
- 26:42Speaker 5: I think, Mike Evans man, I'm putting a little flyer
- 26:45Speaker 5: on the forty nine ers team.
- 26:48Speaker 2: We're arriving at a different time where you know, second rounds,
- 26:51Speaker 2: it might not be enough, the money might not be enough,
- 26:53Speaker 2: and then boom, you're back at lship. I mean, anyway,
- 26:57Speaker 2: go ahead, next.
- 26:58Speaker 1: One, next one.
- 27:00Speaker 6: Michael Pennix cleared to start eleven on eleven drills.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Big deal or not a big deal?
- 27:06Speaker 2: Tail take it away.
- 27:07Speaker 5: This is not a big deal because I am at
- 27:10Speaker 5: the point with this Falcons quarterback competition. Calling it a
- 27:14Speaker 5: quarterback competition is disrespectful to quarterbacks across the country. Really,
- 27:18Speaker 5: I think two is done. I think Michael Penix is done.
- 27:20Speaker 5: I think they're both cooked. I think they're both finished.
- 27:23Speaker 5: Both not guys. I would not want either one of
- 27:26Speaker 5: them to be in my quarterback competition. If Michael Pennix
- 27:29Speaker 5: or Tua can rehabilitate their career and eventually become something
- 27:33Speaker 5: in the NFL, I will be the first one to
- 27:35Speaker 5: throw my hands up and say I was wrong about this.
- 27:38Speaker 5: I think these two are are done and finished.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Not a guy, not a guy. Michael Penix not a guy.
- 27:45Speaker 4: Different game. But these two are not guys.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Yeah two is not a guy. Huh No, huh. Interesting,
- 27:53Speaker 2: we haven't seen enough of I would say it's a
- 27:55Speaker 2: big deal because I'm not certain, not too. I don't
- 27:59Speaker 2: think Pennis is made enough starts for us to make
- 28:02Speaker 2: any sort of determination as to whether or not he's
- 28:05Speaker 2: going to be good. They have weapons on that offense.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Pennis has a big arm. I need to see more,
- 28:11Speaker 2: and so only because of their other options. I will
- 28:14Speaker 2: say Michael Pennock's being healthy and returning to practice and
- 28:17Speaker 2: playing is a big deal for the Falcons, A big deal,
- 28:21Speaker 2: big deal. Do we have more? Yeah, it's a big deal.
- 28:26Speaker 1: I got one more for you.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I have one more him.
- 28:29Speaker 6: Bill's players have called the new stadium grass quote ass really.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Big deal or not a big deal?
- 28:44Speaker 2: Called it ass?
- 28:44Speaker 6: Huh it's never wheeled his ass? Right now, said one
- 28:49Speaker 6: player who didn't want to be identified.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Well, I know the game is not good thing, not
- 28:53Speaker 2: a good thing. But it's not a good thing. But
- 28:56Speaker 2: is it a big deal?
- 28:56Speaker 1: But is it a big deal? Right?
- 28:58Speaker 5: Yes, I'm gonna say it's not a big deal, even
- 29:01Speaker 5: though it's never good for your players to have these
- 29:03Speaker 5: reviews about your new field and stadium that you spent
- 29:07Speaker 5: all this money to build. The reason why it feels
- 29:10Speaker 5: like if you have to change something, having to change
- 29:13Speaker 5: the field seems the easiest, Like you just bring in
- 29:16Speaker 5: the sod Father. The sod Father could assess your field
- 29:19Speaker 5: and then you get on the right track. Whereas we've
- 29:23Speaker 5: seen this with MetLife, where the players complain about the turf,
- 29:26Speaker 5: if you really want to do something, if the owners
- 29:28Speaker 5: of the Jets and the Giants really wanted to do
- 29:30Speaker 5: something right, if you replace the turf, replacing the turf,
- 29:33Speaker 5: replacing the playing surface is a lot easier than replacing
- 29:37Speaker 5: the entire infrastructure of the stadium.
- 29:40Speaker 2: This is an interesting one. A new stadium you want
- 29:44Speaker 2: to go into it feeling good about it. You're not
- 29:47Speaker 2: really happy you left the old stadium even though you
- 29:49Speaker 2: knew you needed a new stadium. And the players it
- 29:52Speaker 2: feels like a built in another built in excuse for
- 29:55Speaker 2: Josh Allen in the event that they don't play well. Hey,
- 29:58Speaker 2: the field was as but I would say, and I
- 30:01Speaker 2: don't think you just bring in George Toma to fix it.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Did that guy wreck the Super Bowl field? I mean,
- 30:07Speaker 2: wasn't there controversy around that.
- 30:09Speaker 1: He tried to blame him. He was like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 30:14Speaker 2: No, right, well that's not because he's a sodfather and
- 30:16Speaker 2: he won't have any of that. Course, I would say
- 30:19Speaker 2: it's actually a big deal. I believe I'm a big
- 30:21Speaker 2: believer in the mental part of sports, and to go
- 30:24Speaker 2: into a new stadium and have the players questioning the
- 30:28Speaker 2: field that they're going to play on, to me, is
- 30:30Speaker 2: when you're trying to win a Super Bowl to end
- 30:32Speaker 2: a new coach with Joe Brady. To me, it's a
- 30:34Speaker 2: big deal, big deal about that.
- 30:37Speaker 5: I think the most obvious thing in this is that
- 30:39Speaker 5: the anonymous player that complained was not Josh Allen, because
- 30:42Speaker 5: if Josh Allen goes to the owners and say, hey,
- 30:45Speaker 5: we need a new field, I think that gets changed.
- 30:47Speaker 5: And Stu, what you did to George Tooma there was
- 30:50Speaker 5: just disgraceful and disgusting. I'm Atoma, I'm Atoma Truther. It
- 30:54Speaker 5: was Ed Mangum. It was Ed mangar fault who got
- 30:58Speaker 5: the NFL on the wrong footing with the field.
- 31:01Speaker 1: And get your gardeners right.
- 31:03Speaker 4: I'm sorry he blamed Thoma.
- 31:05Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Listen, sodfather I apologize, Okay, Sodfather by the way,
- 31:12Speaker 2: George Thoma, he's a man.
- 31:16Speaker 1: He's a guy.
- 31:17Speaker 2: I mean, he really is.
- 31:18Speaker 6: Yes, I will say this as a as a Jets fan.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Who is sod Father. Frankly a little bit sick.
- 31:24Speaker 6: Of listening to Bills fans talk about how great they
- 31:28Speaker 6: were despite no Super Bowls, the fact that every single
- 31:31Speaker 6: broadcast of every single Bills game you watched last year
- 31:35Speaker 6: talked about how great this stadium is going to be
- 31:38Speaker 6: and how the community rallied around it.
- 31:41Speaker 1: The sight lines are terrible. There are so many obstructive.
- 31:45Speaker 6: View seats that that people are like, wait a minute,
- 31:48Speaker 6: right man, this isn't good. And now even the players
- 31:52Speaker 6: are complaining. Yeah, I feel a little vindicated. Well, it's
- 31:54Speaker 6: one player. It's one player who can play. Wasn't Josh Allen?
- 31:57Speaker 6: Who was There's more, There's more than one. I just
- 32:00Speaker 6: like the quote of that grass is ass.
- 32:03Speaker 2: I like the idea of Josh Allen not being able
- 32:05Speaker 2: to go up to management and saying, hey, the grass
- 32:08Speaker 2: is ass, this field is terrible, the stadium sucks, and
- 32:11Speaker 2: just paying players to do it on his behalf. How
- 32:13Speaker 2: about that.
- 32:15Speaker 5: It's amazing that in the year twenty twenty six, the
- 32:18Speaker 5: stadium can open with obstructed views.
- 32:20Speaker 6: How it's they didn't think someone was gonna be there
- 32:26Speaker 6: to look.
- 32:28Speaker 5: It's almost like just have somebody sit in every seat
- 32:31Speaker 5: and give a thumbs up or thumbs down, like ingladiator.
- 32:34Speaker 5: Do you have an obstructive view or not? And if
- 32:37Speaker 5: you do, take that chair out?
- 32:40Speaker 2: Would you pay for obstructed view tickets to a game?
- 32:43Speaker 2: Meaning if normal seats are two hundred dollars and you
- 32:46Speaker 2: have an obstructed view for I don't know, eighty eight
- 32:50Speaker 2: dollars and it's Bill's chiefs, you would rather not pick. No, Mikey,
- 32:54Speaker 2: there's no scenario.
- 32:55Speaker 6: Huh, controversial take here. I'd always rather watch the game
- 33:01Speaker 6: on television always. The NFL is a TV product. Most
- 33:06Speaker 6: of the time, when you go to a bunch of
- 33:08Speaker 6: these games, it is either too hot or too cold, right, Frankly,
- 33:14Speaker 6: I'd rather just stay at home and watch it. So No,
- 33:17Speaker 6: I wouldn't pay to see half of the game from afar.
- 33:20Speaker 2: How about a Yankees World Series game Game seven? Obstructed view?
- 33:25Speaker 2: You could still see. You just have to like stand
- 33:27Speaker 2: on your tiptoes. You have to lean slightly to the left.
- 33:30Speaker 2: There's a pole there there's a tall man in front
- 33:33Speaker 2: of you. You're paying like fifty bucks for those.
- 33:35Speaker 5: No, if the requirement was I have to stay in
- 33:38Speaker 5: the seat the entire time, then I'm not taking that.
- 33:41Speaker 5: If the requirement was I just have to buy the
- 33:43Speaker 5: ticket and it gets me into the stadium, then I'll
- 33:45Speaker 5: buy the ticket and then just you know, linger around
- 33:48Speaker 5: the conder.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 33:50Speaker 2: But Baseball, because there's no seats in this scenario. It's
- 33:52Speaker 2: a World Series game, You're not gonna find an empty seat.
- 33:54Speaker 5: So Baseball does have this problem. I'm gonna show this
- 33:57Speaker 5: for the video audience right now. One time I too,
- 34:00Speaker 5: and this was my seat in Oh jeez, just a
- 34:06Speaker 5: nice beam.
- 34:08Speaker 1: At least that is not obstructed to you. That is like,
- 34:11Speaker 1: just put a TV on.
- 34:12Speaker 2: There that's no view, Watch a poll, watch paint dry.
- 34:17Speaker 2: At least you have fifteen seats to your left and right.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Did you sit somewhere else?
- 34:21Speaker 5: I mean yeah, that was during a rain delay, so
- 34:24Speaker 5: a lot of the crowd left.
- 34:25Speaker 4: And then I just found somewhere else to say.
- 34:27Speaker 2: How much did you pay for that seat?
- 34:30Speaker 4: It couldn't it couldn't have been that much. It was
- 34:31Speaker 4: with a group of guys.
- 34:35Speaker 2: How upset were you when you got there to that seat.
- 34:38Speaker 5: Not really that upset because I could already tell we
- 34:40Speaker 5: would have plenty of We had plenty of seats to
- 34:44Speaker 5: move around from. And then it almost just became like
- 34:46Speaker 5: a funny thing, like the second you see your seat
- 34:48Speaker 5: and it's it's directly behind a beam.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Are we done with a big deal or not a
- 34:56Speaker 2: big deal?
- 34:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we're done. Okay,
