- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone, welcome back to the Astrology for Beginners podcast.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Stephanie Kate Boucher, and I am so happy to have you here.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: This is the podcast for you if you have ever wanted to learn how to read a natal chart,
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: or were kind of interested in astrology and wished that you understood more about it,
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: but didn't know where to begin,
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: or it seemed too complicated and you didn't have the time or the resources to
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: invest in learning it.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: My goal is to break things down for you episode by episode in the most simplified
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: way that I can so that you can learn to speak the language of the stars.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: Thank you for learning astrology with me.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Welcome astrology friends!
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: We are here today to talk about a couple, and just a couple, of the minor aspects in astrology.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: We've spent the last few weeks talking about the major aspects like conjunctions,
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: trines,
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: sextiles,
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: oppositions,
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: and squares,
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: all of which tend to shape our personalities and experiences in pretty big ways.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: And when you're reading your chart,
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: or anyone else's chart for that matter,
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: these are the aspects that you will want to look at,
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: focus on,
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: and make meaning from.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: That being said, there are some other aspects, though, which are called minor aspects.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: And minor aspects,
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: as you might guess from the name,
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: are called that because they are,
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: in fact,
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: minor,
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: which is to say they have a very mild effect.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: That doesn't mean they don't have any effect,
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: but they have a mild or minor effect in the overall grand scheme of things.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: So much so that I've heard a lot of astrologers say they don't really pay that much
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: attention to them in a reading.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: For a couple of reasons, I think.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: One being that because these aspects create a more minor influence...
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: there's a good possibility that that energy is going to be overshadowed or
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: overwritten by other stronger,
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: more powerful parts of the chart.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: We all have parts of our personality, for example, that are there,
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: But they don't necessarily have the final say in our biggest moments in life, right?
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Like maybe you're someone who tends to feel a little bit cautious or you have some
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: trepidation on the inside whenever you have an opportunity to take a risk or try
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: something brand new.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: But even though you may have that tendency to feel cautious or fearful,
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: you tend to be someone who ultimately is going to take that risk anyway.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: And so which of those traits ends up being more significant in your life?
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Is it the fact that you feel that initial sense of fear or trepidation?
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Or is it that tendency to be a risk taker?
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: And I think many of us would probably agree that the risk-taking ends up becoming
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: the more defining trait.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: So minor aspects can be a bit like that.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: They can tell you a little something about someone,
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: but it's not the most powerful piece of information about them that you have access to.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: The other reason some astrologers don't really use the minor aspects that much is
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: that even when these minor aspects do end up becoming a bigger theme in a person's life,
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: it's probably the case that that particular energy from that minor aspect or a very
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: similar energy to that minor aspect is going to show up in other parts of the chart
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: where it's more obvious and more potent.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Because the major parts of our personalities and the major themes that we
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: experience in a lifetime don't simply show up in one place in the chart and in that
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: one place only.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Typically,
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: the biggest themes for our lives generally are going to be things that show up in
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: our charts repeatedly in multiple different ways.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: And in fact,
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: one of the key guidelines that many people say to use when you're reading a chart
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: is to look for an idea or a theme to show up three different times or in three
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: different places in the chart before you attribute a lot of meaning to it.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: That is how you're going to know that a concept is going to be a major thread in someone's life.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: So we always want to look for the ideas that show up repeatedly because those that
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: do are going to have a much bigger impact on someone than something that only shows
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: up once or just perhaps shows up in a minor way.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: So for example, maybe you'd see in a chart that someone had their son in a conjunction with Uranus.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: And because it's a Uranus conjunction,
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: you suspect that this is going to be a person who is differently minded.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: They're unique in some way.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: But you're wondering if that aspect is more likely to manifest as someone who is quirky or eccentric.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: or perhaps metaphysical even, because Uranus rules things like astrology and metaphysics, for example.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Or if it's someone who is maybe rebellious and really wants to buck convention and
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: go their own way in life.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Now, in some ways, those are the same thing, because it can take a lot of courage to be quirky.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: But in some ways, they're different, distinct things.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: I think rebelliousness tends to have a more fiery quality to it, for example.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: So what you could do in that case is you could look at the chart to see if that
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: rebellious energy shows up in more than one spot.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Maybe you look at the north node and you see that it's in the sign of Aquarius.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Aquarius is ruled by Uranus and the North Node is where you're headed and where the
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: universe will typically always supply you with opportunities for growth when you
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: seek them out.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: So there's more of that Uranus energy showing up in a really significant way.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: It still by itself doesn't necessarily tell you which of those two directions that
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: we talked about is going to be the most prevalent.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: But maybe, maybe it's also true that this Aquarius north node is in the eighth house.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Now,
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: not only could this placement be about embracing uniqueness or spirituality,
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: but there's also a power dynamic that gets dealt with in the eighth house.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: So you've got this north node in a really individualistic sign,
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: a potentially rebellious sign in a house that deals with power dynamics.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: So this really could be someone who's here to shake things up and look at issues around authority.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: And then maybe you keep going and you keep looking around and you see that you've
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: got Mars forming a square with Saturn.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: And wow,
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: that's really going to create a lot of tension for someone around their actions
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: being in conflict with the rules of society or the societal structures that feel
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: restrictive or confining.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: And there's also likely going to be some pushback from authority figures with that
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: aspect because Saturn represents authority.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: So that's looking like a really rebellious nature now, or at least the potential for it.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: And at this point, it's pretty safe to say that this will be someone who is unique, yes,
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: but also very much inclined to buck tradition and throw out old norms and
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: conventions and do things differently.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: This really could be someone who sees the world differently and is not afraid to
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: push the envelope,
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: so to speak.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: And you know this is true because you see it cropping up in their chart repeatedly.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: That's three times, right?
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: Which is typically what happens.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: I recommend you try this out in your own chart to see which themes are popping up
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: for you three or more times.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: I think you'll find some.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: So by now, you might be asking the obvious question, which is, why cover these at all?
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: If they are minor and they don't necessarily tell us anything that we haven't
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: perhaps already seen in some other aspect,
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: why cover them?
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: Well,
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: people do hear about the minor aspects,
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: and particularly people hear about the semisextiles and the quincunxes,
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: which is what I'll discuss today.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: And they do want to know what these things mean.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: I do think it's worth having a basic understanding of them,
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: or at least being able to define them,
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: if you're serious about studying astrology.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: They may or may not become important to you and your astrology practice.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Some people see them as insignificant, but some people think they matter.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: And if they matter to you, then they matter.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: I am very much about encouraging people to use their instincts about what feels
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: right and significant to them.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: As with all things in astrology, you get to decide whether this is something you find useful.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: So I would say play around with these,
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: play around with the semi-sextiles and the quincunxes,
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: and see if you think they impact your life.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: And where I think they could be useful is in those moments when you are looking to
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: confirm some information that you saw somewhere else,
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: but you want to see how many different places it might show up.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: You can certainly use them for that.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Okay, so let's talk about semisextiles and quincunxes briefly.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Those are the only minor aspects I'm going to address right now.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: There are several others, but they're not commonly talked about or used that much.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: So I think that they'd really just be more of a distraction at this point than anything else.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: But the semisextiles and quincunxes do come up a bit more.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: and particularly the quincunxes,
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: which will also be something you'll want to know about when we start talking about
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: aspect patterns soon,
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: because then we're going to talk about yods,
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: among other things,
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: and yods are an aspect pattern that involves quincunxes.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, so semisextiles.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: A semisextile occurs when two planets are 30 degrees or one whole sign apart.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: So if you were to have Mercury at 17 degrees Leo and Mars at 17 degrees Virgo,
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: which is exactly one sign over,
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: that is a semisextile.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Or really just...
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: one half of a full sextile because a sextile is two signs apart, if you think back to our prior episode.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Semi-sextiles are pretty common,
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: and that's because we typically will always,
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: at any given time,
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: have a cluster of planets that are close together in the sky.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Mercury and Venus, for example, never get that far away from the Sun.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: Mercury never gets more than one sign away from the Sun in either direction, for example.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: And Venus never gets more than two signs away from the Sun.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: So it's fairly common to have semisextiles between the Sun and Mercury,
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: or the Sun and Venus,
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: or Mercury and Venus.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: And the Moon also,
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: because the Moon moves so fast,
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: it passes over every single planet and hits every single sign once every month.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: So the Moon is often in semisextile with other planets.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: So they're not rare.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: What's interesting about them is that when you have two planets in neighboring
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: signs or one sign apart,
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: they are always going to be in both different modalities.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: So cardinal signs versus fixed signs versus mutable signs.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: And they're going to be in different and also incompatible elements.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: When we're talking about elements,
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: we think of fire signs and air signs as being compatible,
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: and we think of earth signs and water signs as being compatible.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: But with semisextiles,
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: the modes and the elements are not only going to be different,
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: they're going to be considered incompatible.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: So in the Mercury-Mars example I just talked about, you have Mercury in a fixed fire sign,
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: and Mars in a mutable Earth sign.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: Fixed signs are very different from mutable signs.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Fixed signs don't really like change.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: They're more on the stubborn side or even close-minded at times, notoriously.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: And mutable signs are always looking for innovative new ways to do things.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: It's different.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Similarly, fire signs are not considered all that compatible with Earth signs.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: Air signs, those are easier for them to work with.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: Earth signs, water signs, not quite as much.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: And what you get out of that are two planets that have the potential to mildly annoy one another.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: Now, this isn't going to be the worst or most contentious relationship in the world.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: It's not like the square where there's a lot of dynamic energy and tension that
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: really needs to find a point of release somehow and ends up creating a lot of
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: ambition or action in a person's life.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: And it's not like the opposition where there's this continual push-pull dynamic creating frustration.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: It's not that either.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: This is more like knowing a person who is just mildly annoying to you sometimes
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: because they're just a little different than you is all.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: But they're okay.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: You don't have that much of a problem with them or anything.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: You just don't particularly gel with one another either.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: So going back to my example of Mercury and Leo, semi-sextiling Mars and Virgo, you're
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: You could have an intellect or train of thought that is very Leo-like with big
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: flamboyant ideas or grandiose thoughts about what you want to do in life or how to
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: communicate with other people.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: But it could be difficult to execute this because Mars in Virgo is not a thrill
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: seeker or an attention seeker.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: This Mars is a bit more cautious because of its need to do things perfectly.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: It's not going to act as quickly because it wants to be diligent and take care of all the details.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: It may be very service-oriented and prefer to work behind the scenes, which does not line up
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: with the more flamboyant nature of Leo.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: So Mercury and Leo, or all this grandiose thinking, is going to be reined in by Mars in Virgo.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: And if it wants to get its way, it's going to have to address Mars's concerns and meet it halfway.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: So there's a little bit of an inner negotiation taking place in this person's psyche.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: And that can be a good thing because this way there's an opportunity to strike a
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: balance between the loftier desires of Mercury and Leo and the practical approach
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: of Mars and Virgo.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: And maybe these two characters will be able to accomplish more together than they
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: would otherwise if they can manage to work together and extract the best sides of
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: both of them.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: Now, quincunxes are something else.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Quincunxes can also be called inconjunct.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: So if you hear that term, just know that they're the same thing as quincunxes.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: And two planets are considered inconjunct when they are about 150 degrees or five signs apart.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: So it's getting close to an opposition, which is six signs apart, but it's not quite there.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: Like the sextile and other minor aspects,
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: this aspect doesn't show up by default in most online birth chart calculators.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: I probably should have said that before.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: In most cases, you'll have to find the extended settings and specifically ask for that.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: I know in astroseek.com,
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: you can pull up your birth chart,
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: and then right below the chart,
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: you can click on the
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: piece that says Extended Settings, House Systems, Aspects, Orbs.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: You'll click on that.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: And then in the third column that pops up, you'll see that the name of the column is Minor Aspects.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: And you can check the box for quincunxes or any of the other minor aspects.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: If you have a quincunx in your chart, it will then show up as a long green line.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: But not everyone is going to have a quincunx in their chart.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: Lots of people won't have one.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: Some people may have more than one.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: Semisextiles, by the way, will show up as the shorter green lines.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: Now,
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: if you see a quincunx in your chart,
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: it's similar to a semisextile in that planets involved are also going to be in
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: different incompatible modalities and elements.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: They're just like the semisextiles in that respect.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: So again, these planets will have different ways of approaching life.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: If you think about the term inconjunct that we use for this aspect and what that
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: means logically for a second,
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: If planets being conjunct means that there's a blending of energies,
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: a fusing of energies,
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: then inconjunct has the exact opposite meaning.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: Inconjunction is two energies that are,
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: for better or worse,
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: distinctly separate and perhaps irreconcilable.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: At least that's the feeling that people are likely to get.
- 18:42SPEAKER_00: You can't blend them.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: And so they end up creating discomfort and there's this awkwardness between these two planets.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: Again, it's not like the hard aspects like squares where there's open conflict.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: It's just more that they feel uncomfortable around each other.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: They can't find a way to talk to one another.
- 19:02SPEAKER_00: It's too awkward.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: And so they aren't really communicating with each other.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: It's like information gets tripped up and wires get crossed.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: There's a disconnect.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: So if Mars and Venus were in conjunct,
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: for example,
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: there could be a disconnect between what you want,
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: Venus,
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: and the way you go about getting what you want,
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: Mars.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: They're not lining up or working well together.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Or maybe you have your sun in Gemini,
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: which by sign should indicate a tendency to be more lighthearted,
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: more social,
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: moving from one thing to the next thing all the time,
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: being really curious,
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: but also just looking at things from a more surface level because your curiosity
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: keeps you hopping from one thing to the next all the time.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: But on the other hand, your moon could be in Scorpio, like my moon is.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: And that seems to be the opposite of all those things.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: Scorpio is not lighthearted.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: It is anything but that.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: It feels things intensely and it has a piercing level of focus and depth to it.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: It does not hop from one thing to the next thing and stay on the surface.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: Scorpio digs deep and mines for anything and everything it can find down in those depths.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: And so when it learns something,
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: it's going to stick around and dig up everything it needs and wants to know.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: So this is the sun and the moon, both representations or different parts of your identity, right?
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: But they're in totally different spots with really different intentions and
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: different ways of operating,
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: right?
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: And then the question becomes, if these are both parts of your identity, which of these things are you?
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Are you the light, curious, happy-go-lucky, mutable air sign of your Gemini sun?
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: Or are you the deep and soulful fixed water sign of Scorpio?
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: Which one gets their way?
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: And the answer is both.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: It has to be both.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: The answer is that life is complicated.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: People are complicated.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: Nothing is always exactly what it seems.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: And people can be many different things all at once.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: More than one thing can actually be true, even when those things seem to contradict each other.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: And life becomes richer and more mysterious when we can come to terms with that.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: Now,
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: it might not always be easy to reconcile these two different parts of yourself,
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: but there are some constructive ways that you can handle it.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: One is that this would give you a chance to practice radical self-acceptance.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: Loving yourself, not despite, but because of all of the different beautiful facets of yourself.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: Another way is humor.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: Life is complicated and we contradict ourselves sometimes.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: And some parts of our personalities can get in the way of other parts.
- 22:19SPEAKER_00: And isn't that hilarious, right?
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: Like it's actually quite funny.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: And you can bring some levity to it.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: This is an extension of radical self-acceptance.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: Yet another way is through creativity.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: Much like any exercise in conflict resolution,
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: like say a conflict resolution between two people,
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: sometimes you have to look at your life creatively and see if you can find new and
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: different ways to organize your life and exist.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: So it's possible that innovation can be one of the big lessons you wanted to take
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: on with this chart of yours.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: And you can really lean in to that creative energy if you choose to.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: And finally, there's compassion.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: When we have parts of ourselves that feel awkward to us or don't feel particularly
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: easy to deal with,
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: we then have the opportunity to become compassionate towards other people and also
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: very wise.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: Because you can see the world for the complicated, intricate place that it is.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: And you develop all of these different interesting perspectives that not everyone has.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: And that has the potential to help you grow faster if you stay aware of it.
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: And self-awareness is always, always the key with everything.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: That's why we want to get to know our charts in the first place,
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: because if we understand them,
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: we can choose to use them well.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: Okay, that wraps up today's discussion on the minor aspects.
