Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Kenneth Mosley back here with Pastor Rob Rocha at All Access.
- 0:07Speaker 1: He's teaching me a little Spanish back here, y'all. We'll
- 0:09Speaker 1: see how this works out. But Pastor Rob Rocha is
- 0:11Speaker 1: the pastor of Casa de Fe, the Hispanic ministry at
- 0:15Speaker 1: the Potter's House Church. How are you today, sir?
- 0:17Speaker 2: I'm doing well. How about yourself?
- 0:18Speaker 1: I'm doing well. Thank you for stopping by.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Thank you for having me. A lot of what.
- 0:22Speaker 1: The focus of this particular conference has been talking about
- 0:25Speaker 1: bridging the gap between certain generations, certain times, certain cultures.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Talk to us a little bit about how the mainstream
- 0:32Speaker 1: church can begin to understand and embrace what it is
- 0:35Speaker 1: that the Latino church brings to the body of Christ
- 0:39Speaker 1: at large.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you know, it's a very interesting dynamic. And
- 0:42Speaker 2: it's one, I think the main thing that Bishop Jakes
- 0:44Speaker 2: wants everyone to know concerning our Latino ministry in particular
- 0:49Speaker 2: is that it is not separate. We are together. It
- 0:53Speaker 2: is the Potter's house and we are the Spanish church
- 0:56Speaker 2: of the Potter's house. And so I'm very intentional when
- 0:59Speaker 2: I talk to our Casa de Fe folks that we
- 1:02Speaker 2: are Potter's House, Bishop is our Bishop, and that we
- 1:06Speaker 2: operate under the same vision and mission as Potter's House does.
- 1:10Speaker 2: What we bring to the mainstream church and our church
- 1:13Speaker 2: is that we're able to just kind of bring the
- 1:16Speaker 2: whole cultural element, the spice, if you will, you know,
- 1:20Speaker 2: to use that word. But we bring the spice to it.
- 1:23Speaker 2: We were able to bring in the the influences of
- 1:27Speaker 2: our music and of the way that we worship. Many
- 1:30Speaker 2: times on Sunday mornings, we are educated on a lot
- 1:34Speaker 2: of the way that the Black Gospel Church worships in
- 1:37Speaker 2: the music and in the style. And what we get
- 1:40Speaker 2: to do is just bring a little bit of our
- 1:41Speaker 2: element into it, too. And I think it mixes really well.
- 1:43Speaker 1: What do you think is one of the major, if
- 1:46Speaker 1: you want to call it a selling point, what is
- 1:48Speaker 1: the major benefit of pastors and leaders coming to a
- 1:51Speaker 1: conference like this?
- 1:52Speaker 2: Oh, well, you know, you get fresh information, first of all,
- 1:55Speaker 2: because I know that a lot of us at times
- 1:57Speaker 2: can get stuck in a rut and we just don't
- 1:59Speaker 2: know how to get out. Second of all, the networking,
- 2:01Speaker 2: the people that you come and connect with from all
- 2:04Speaker 2: over the place. Just this morning, I met pastors from London,
- 2:08Speaker 2: from India. I met one that came all the way
- 2:10Speaker 2: from Pakistan. So just the networking opportunities you get to
- 2:16Speaker 2: meet people, fellowship with them, and then just be in
- 2:19Speaker 2: that same atmosphere together where you can just kind of say, yes, yes,
- 2:23Speaker 2: this is what I needed. Encourage one another. I think
- 2:25Speaker 2: it's awesome.
- 2:25Speaker 1: We're always getting pastors from all around the globe coming
- 2:28Speaker 1: to this particular event. Why do you think people from
- 2:31Speaker 1: all around the world come to this conference?
- 2:33Speaker 2: I will tell you, it's three words. It's T.D.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Jakes.
- 2:37Speaker 2: He, of course, we know he's our bishop. He's our pastor.
- 2:39Speaker 2: And he's just the influence that he has around the world.
- 2:44Speaker 2: And his message and the way he presents it has
- 2:48Speaker 2: not diminished. And it's still attracting people. pastors, leaders from
- 2:52Speaker 2: all over the world.
