Latest / Luke's English Podcast / S1E6 - A Mother_s Burden - The Murder of Jody Kilgore
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: In this podcast, we discuss unsolved cases that may be
- 0:04Speaker 1: violent in nature in an effort to keep the cases
- 0:07Speaker 1: in the public eye and continue the stories of the victims.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Those who choose to or choose against participating are not
- 0:14Speaker 1: indicative of involvement in any crimes we discuss. Listener discretion
- 0:19Speaker 1: is advised. Today's episode is both deeply personal and profoundly important.
- 0:38Speaker 1: We're honoured to be joined by Gladys Kilgore, the mother
- 0:41Speaker 1: of Jody Kilgore, who tragically lost his life to an
- 0:44Speaker 1: unsolved homicide, a violent crime that forever changed her world
- 0:49Speaker 1: and left her searching for answers that have yet to come.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Since that devastating day, Gladys has shown extraordinary strength and resilience.
- 0:58Speaker 1: She's become a tireless advocate for justice for Jody. Her
- 1:02Speaker 1: voice is one of courage, love, and unwavering determination. In
- 1:06Speaker 1: this conversation, Gladys shares her journey through grief, the pain
- 1:10Speaker 1: of living without closure, and how she continues to fight
- 1:13Speaker 1: for justice while honoring Jody's memory every single day. Gladys,
- 1:32Speaker 1: thank you for being here and for your bravery and
- 1:35Speaker 1: speaking out. And we have just a few questions that
- 1:38Speaker 1: we wanted to ask you, and we'll just start off
- 1:40Speaker 1: with what do you want people to know about Jody?
- 1:47Speaker 2: Oh, I just wanted to let everybody know what kind
- 1:50Speaker 2: of manny really rose and though still is in my sight,
- 1:56Speaker 2: but I just want to know you know one, No,
- 2:01Speaker 2: he was a good daddy of a son, a husband,
- 2:10Speaker 2: had lots and lots of friends.
- 2:13Speaker 3: And so on the day that Jody was killed, what
- 2:17Speaker 3: was that day like for you? What do you remember.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Much? For a horrble day in my life? First of all,
- 2:26Speaker 2: I wasn't even here. I was on a trip going
- 2:30Speaker 2: up north and never even dreaming that nothing like this
- 2:35Speaker 2: would have me turning around and come straight back, which
- 2:39Speaker 2: I didn't care nothing about nothing else. Then I just
- 2:43Speaker 2: wanted to get back to try to find out what
- 2:45Speaker 2: they found out about Jody. It was a rough, rough day.
- 2:57Speaker 1: One of the things that's really most important to us
- 3:00Speaker 1: is that we're telling Jody's story and we are.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Getting the community involved again in the way that they
- 3:07Speaker 3: were at the beginning.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And what would you like to say to the community,
- 3:11Speaker 1: What would you like for the community to do to
- 3:13Speaker 1: support you and your family.
- 3:19Speaker 2: At all the things that we do on his birthday,
- 3:23Speaker 2: on his the day that he got murdered. We always
- 3:29Speaker 2: have a well get together and I'd love to see
- 3:33Speaker 2: as many people there as they were the first time
- 3:37Speaker 2: we did first, the second, third time we did it,
- 3:41Speaker 2: but it seemed like it just whittling the way and
- 3:44Speaker 2: nobody's asking any questions from nobody and under understanding y'all
- 3:51Speaker 2: have how much y'all mean to me to be doing this.
- 3:59Speaker 4: Well, that part is our pleasure. Like I said, it's
- 4:01Speaker 4: one you know, we've talked about several times in the
- 4:04Speaker 4: in the podcast, and one of the things that really
- 4:07Speaker 4: stands out is every time your name comes up, you
- 4:11Speaker 4: are extremely well liked in the community, and so that's
- 4:16Speaker 4: that's always good to hear, and of course all those
- 4:19Speaker 4: good things we hear about Jody as well, so we
- 4:20Speaker 4: this was this was our pleasure.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I know that there is a Facebook group that people
- 4:28Speaker 1: can join, and I think that is you.
- 4:31Speaker 3: I believe Cindy runs that page and does a really
- 4:34Speaker 3: great job of.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Posting where those vigils are going to be. So I
- 4:38Speaker 1: would really encourage everyone to join that help us solve
- 4:41Speaker 1: the murder of our brother George Jody Kilgore, And graciously
- 4:47Speaker 1: Cindy has also added me as a moderator and admin
- 4:50Speaker 1: of that group, so I can continue to post and
- 4:53Speaker 1: allow people in because that seems to be one of
- 4:55Speaker 1: the best ways for people to keep up on those vigils.
- 4:58Speaker 1: And I know one is October sixth, and can you
- 5:02Speaker 1: remind us when the other vigital is.
- 5:06Speaker 2: His birthday is August fifteenth.
- 5:12Speaker 1: August fifteenth, and then October six October.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Yeah, And what we can do as well is we'll
- 5:20Speaker 4: include a link to that Facebook group in the description
- 5:24Speaker 4: of this particular episode so people can have direct access
- 5:27Speaker 4: to it.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a really great idea.
- 5:31Speaker 1: We understand from talking to Captain Sarracha Sachi last week
- 5:38Speaker 1: is that you had a chance to sit down with
- 5:40Speaker 1: them and chat with them a little bit. And I
- 5:42Speaker 1: think that's because you you went in. From what I understand,
- 5:45Speaker 1: what would you like from the Wakala County Sheriff Office,
- 5:48Speaker 1: what can they do to continue to support you?
- 5:53Speaker 2: God, just keep going over stuff from trying to find
- 5:58Speaker 2: out who slipped, who, who messed up or whatever, because
- 6:04Speaker 2: when from from what I heard, I wouldn't hear at
- 6:08Speaker 2: that time, but they the h and probably most airflight
- 6:14Speaker 2: that was on Jody's case in are probably already gone.
- 6:19Speaker 2: But they got it all right down. How bad they
- 6:24Speaker 2: made a mistake of going in there and just walking
- 6:28Speaker 2: all through Judy's yard and the dead man laying there,
- 6:32Speaker 2: and who knows how many different all things they thought
- 6:39Speaker 2: they had had, but there wasn't nothing to do with it,
- 6:42Speaker 2: just because they were walking around all of the yard
- 6:46Speaker 2: and throwing down cigarette butts and sandwich stuff and Jenny.
- 6:54Speaker 2: If Jody wasn't dead, he would have would have died
- 6:57Speaker 2: if he's seen all that, because he took very, very
- 7:01Speaker 2: good care of his yards and stuff.
- 7:04Speaker 1: And then we do understand that quite a few people
- 7:08Speaker 1: in the community have been listening to the podcast. We're
- 7:11Speaker 1: hearing from people close to us that the podcast is
- 7:15Speaker 1: being discussed at some of the local restaurants. So we
- 7:20Speaker 1: know that there are people who are listening to this
- 7:23Speaker 1: podcast who may be people that you would like to
- 7:27Speaker 1: say something to. So is there anyone that you would
- 7:30Speaker 1: like to address or say anything specific.
- 7:33Speaker 3: That we haven't really talked about already.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I'll just well anybody, everybody. I usually say I have
- 7:42Speaker 2: my bracelets on. Today some of them come up and
- 7:45Speaker 2: ask me what that is, Oh, and I said, it's
- 7:49Speaker 2: my son's been murdered for eleven years now, and I
- 7:54Speaker 2: just wonder if you want to join in with us
- 7:58Speaker 2: and try to help us, uh to find out more
- 8:02Speaker 2: things about it. But I just can't understand I mentioned
- 8:11Speaker 2: his his I mentioned his name probably lots and lots
- 8:19Speaker 2: of times, but everybody would, especially when I wore my
- 8:24Speaker 2: shirts and with Justice for Jodie, I got a bunch
- 8:30Speaker 2: of those made up and taking you know, end up
- 8:38Speaker 2: giving him to everybody because of the the people that
- 8:43Speaker 2: might want to pay no money.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I'm really encouraged to hear about the bracelets when we
- 8:49Speaker 1: talked to him'll call County Sheriff office. I think last
- 8:51Speaker 1: week we were told that they would be working with
- 8:55Speaker 1: you to get some more of those bracelets. So I
- 8:57Speaker 1: hope that's the bracelets that you're talking about. And yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 1: through good they came through on you. They specifically said
- 9:04Speaker 1: that that was something that was in the work, So
- 9:06Speaker 1: I'm really glad to hear that that they followed through
- 9:10Speaker 1: on that.
- 9:10Speaker 3: That's good news.
- 9:13Speaker 2: And the share now and surat you both. Oh, they
- 9:20Speaker 2: know they came in and the im mediate middle of it,
- 9:22Speaker 2: but they've never refused to see me or talk to
- 9:26Speaker 2: me about it. And I just wish one day that
- 9:32Speaker 2: they would just I'm glad as you need to come
- 9:36Speaker 2: to the Sheriff's warmer and we have something do we
- 9:41Speaker 2: need to let you know? That would be one of
- 9:44Speaker 2: the happiest days in the world.
- 9:49Speaker 4: I know we're looking forward to that as well. We were.
- 9:51Speaker 4: You know, while again that wasn't the focus of the podcast,
- 9:54Speaker 4: you know I would I'd be lying if I didn't
- 9:57Speaker 4: say we were hopeful that we'd get some crazy phone
- 10:00Speaker 4: call that would break the case and something we could
- 10:02Speaker 4: provide the Shriff's office and finally know for sure. Again,
- 10:06Speaker 4: not the goal, but you know we we were hoping
- 10:09Speaker 4: that would happen.
- 10:11Speaker 5: Yeah, we're hoping through telling Jody's story and having the
- 10:19Speaker 5: support that we've had from you, that maybe something will
- 10:23Speaker 5: spark or someone you know and we'll get you a
- 10:27Speaker 5: phone call.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I wish that we would come in. I
- 10:35Speaker 2: got an extrovert buddy in back.
- 10:39Speaker 4: He's gonna be famous because and edit that out, so
- 10:44Speaker 4: all the walk up and he's going to hear some
- 10:46Speaker 4: crazy kid in the back.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, if we can just as after Jody
- 10:54Speaker 2: to his name is Jody, That's exactly right.
- 10:59Speaker 4: One thing we are going to do as well, as
- 11:01Speaker 4: you know, Alisa and I talked about this and we
- 11:03Speaker 4: were you know, we we want to make sure that
- 11:06Speaker 4: we keep this in the front. And you know, this
- 11:08Speaker 4: is going to wrap up the last episode of the
- 11:10Speaker 4: series unless some new evidence comes out that we're that
- 11:14Speaker 4: we can talk about. But what we are going to
- 11:17Speaker 4: do is release this entire series on Spotify one week
- 11:21Speaker 4: before the next vigil and we're going to market that
- 11:24Speaker 4: again throughout Walkll.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Accounting, and that'll make it go bigger.
- 11:28Speaker 4: It'll make it go bigger, it'll go global at that point.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Yeah, And I have actually reached out to there's a
- 11:34Speaker 1: particular podcast that I listened to and they take listener suggestions,
- 11:39Speaker 1: So I have reached out to them and told them
- 11:41Speaker 1: about this case, and hopefully I'll get.
- 11:44Speaker 3: A good email and they'll want to cover this case.
- 11:46Speaker 1: And this is a really well known podcast, and so
- 11:49Speaker 1: that would get it out even bigger.
- 11:51Speaker 3: So, you know, just because we're getting.
- 11:55Speaker 2: We're getting bigger, bigger.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Bigger, bigger.
- 11:58Speaker 3: That's what we want.
- 12:00Speaker 1: So even though we may not be releasing any more
- 12:03Speaker 1: episodes a week to week like we have, we're still working.
- 12:05Speaker 3: In the background and when we get good news, we'll
- 12:08Speaker 3: come back and give a little update.
- 12:09Speaker 4: That's correct, yep, okay.
- 12:11Speaker 1: And we look forward to meeting you when we get
- 12:14Speaker 1: on back down there.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll be back down in their winter. And I
- 12:19Speaker 4: know we've never met face to face, and that's going
- 12:21Speaker 4: to change.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Ye already certainly appreciate everything y'all doing.
- 12:29Speaker 4: Do you have any of the questions of Lisa.
- 12:30Speaker 3: I don't. I just appreciate her time so much.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Is there anything else you wanted to tell us? So
- 12:34Speaker 4: maybe we didn't think to ask.
- 12:35Speaker 2: About until the other day the other time when we
- 12:44Speaker 2: were doing this before, I never knew that Jetty would
- 12:48Speaker 2: And then we're having trouble with the with the company.
- 12:56Speaker 3: What the company?
- 12:58Speaker 2: The company that he had, I didn't know it was.
- 13:01Speaker 2: They closed it down.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Yeah, we discovered a lot of interesting stuff. I'm not
- 13:06Speaker 4: sure if you've had a chance to listen to all
- 13:08Speaker 4: the episodes, but you know, I was surprised to hear
- 13:11Speaker 4: that too, because when I when I was originally before
- 13:14Speaker 4: this podcast was even the thing. When I was originally
- 13:17Speaker 4: told the Jody story, it was, you know, he was
- 13:21Speaker 4: being picked up for work and they were headed out
- 13:23Speaker 4: in the truck and then you know, so I was
- 13:26Speaker 4: like Okay, well, why was Toby picking him up?
- 13:28Speaker 6: And that?
- 13:28Speaker 4: Then when we started doing the research, I'm like, wow,
- 13:31Speaker 4: that LLC had been closed down for two years. But
- 13:34Speaker 4: you know, I don't think they stopped working. I just
- 13:36Speaker 4: think they closed the LLC. That's that's the impression I got.
- 13:41Speaker 4: They were still doing jobs for people, still doing a
- 13:43Speaker 4: lot of electrical work.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Yes, sir, Let's start with where we left off in
- 14:05Speaker 1: episode five, which was about listener and community feedback about
- 14:09Speaker 1: the role that infidelity may have played in this crime.
- 14:13Speaker 1: We covered the two thousand disappearance and eventual homicide of
- 14:17Speaker 1: Mike Williams, which involved his wife and infidelity, and over
- 14:21Speaker 1: the past few weeks we've heard from several listeners who
- 14:23Speaker 1: gave us names of people whom they believed or heard
- 14:27Speaker 1: they believed were involved with Jodie's wife before the homicide,
- 14:31Speaker 1: around the time of the homicide, and in the weeks
- 14:34Speaker 1: and months that followed. We've spent some time looking into
- 14:37Speaker 1: many of those names that we were given, but we
- 14:39Speaker 1: are very hesitant to go much farther with these names
- 14:42Speaker 1: at this time, obviously because this is hearsay and conjecture.
- 14:47Speaker 1: We will, however, be reaching out to Captain Sarachi and
- 14:50Speaker 1: Lieutenant Western to share this information. And additionally, a second
- 14:54Speaker 1: Freedom of Information Act or FOYA has been requested and
- 14:58Speaker 1: we've had no response to that question. It's been about
- 15:00Speaker 1: a week.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Wow.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Yeah, now let's discuss what we do know.
- 15:07Speaker 4: So what we know is there was definitely various types
- 15:13Speaker 4: of infidel I depend on how you want to how
- 15:15Speaker 4: you want to classify it. Well, we can't really substantiate
- 15:18Speaker 4: is there was a separation. Also, we know there was
- 15:22Speaker 4: a separation, it's really kind of muddled on how long
- 15:25Speaker 4: that separation was. And we know that there was relationships
- 15:30Speaker 4: on both sides here during that time. We also know
- 15:34Speaker 4: that Susan file for divorce.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we do know that Jody was not living in
- 15:40Speaker 1: the house for we believe to be about several months.
- 15:43Speaker 1: We do know that Susan did file for divorce on
- 15:47Speaker 1: December fifteenth, twenty eleven. However, there was a request to
- 15:53Speaker 1: hold that filing by both parties on January seventeenth, twelve.
- 16:01Speaker 1: And these dates align with what a primary source told
- 16:06Speaker 1: us about when Jody did not live in the home
- 16:09Speaker 1: and when he moved back in, so that we have
- 16:11Speaker 1: alignment there with when we believe he wasn't living at
- 16:14Speaker 1: the house and when the divorce filing happened.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Okay, what we don't know is is this a contributing
- 16:21Speaker 4: factor or not. We know that there was a reconciliation,
- 16:25Speaker 4: we talked about that before. We know that he went
- 16:27Speaker 4: back to the home, but we also know that there
- 16:31Speaker 4: was still a lot of infighting. There was still a
- 16:33Speaker 4: lot of problems, still a lot of challenges. So this
- 16:36Speaker 4: doesn't feel very resolved at all.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I would agree. Now, let's talk about the drug use. Right,
- 16:43Speaker 1: Here's what we do know. We do know that they're
- 16:45Speaker 1: surrounding a lot of the people in this family. We
- 16:49Speaker 1: have evidence of use of drugs. We have evidence of
- 16:52Speaker 1: possession of drug paraphernalia, we have evidence of even dealing drugs.
- 16:58Speaker 3: And we know this.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Because we have been looking at arrest records, reading a
- 17:02Speaker 1: lot of news reports, done several background checks the clerk
- 17:07Speaker 1: of the court web page. We were able to find
- 17:09Speaker 1: lots of good information there evidence of drug use in
- 17:14Speaker 1: this family, and we also have eyewitness accounts of drug deals,
- 17:19Speaker 1: phone calls that people overheard related to drugs. So those
- 17:23Speaker 1: are things we absolutely know.
- 17:24Speaker 4: And let's keep in mind too that it's both sides
- 17:27Speaker 4: of the family. So when we're talking about this, we're
- 17:31Speaker 4: talking people that were related primarily to Jodi, and we're
- 17:34Speaker 4: talking about people that were related primarily to Susie in
- 17:37Speaker 4: that side of the family as well.
- 17:41Speaker 1: And then we want to talk a little bit about
- 17:43Speaker 1: our experiences because that we're the primary source for our
- 17:46Speaker 1: experiences and we haven't really shared those.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Yeah, one thing that at least and I've talked about
- 17:51Speaker 4: that was really disappointing when putting this podcast together. Let's
- 17:57Speaker 4: start at the beginning. You know, we originally aproach Susan
- 18:01Speaker 4: to make sure that this is something that she would
- 18:03Speaker 4: be okay with, because we wanted to be sensitive to
- 18:05Speaker 4: how she felt about it. And there was no problem here.
- 18:09Speaker 4: This is something that it seemed like it was exciting,
- 18:11Speaker 4: something that we're definitely interested in. And then as we
- 18:14Speaker 4: started to progress, things started to get a little strange,
- 18:18Speaker 4: and then she withdrew almost entirely did not want to
- 18:21Speaker 4: really be involved with it at all.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and we saw that same pattern of behavior in
- 18:27Speaker 1: the twenty twenty three theater that was LinkedIn episode that's right,
- 18:33Speaker 1: I think it was three, And we see Gladys at
- 18:37Speaker 1: the end of that Facebook Live at the theater discuss
- 18:41Speaker 1: her experience with Susan and how she had invited Susan
- 18:44Speaker 1: to come to that event, and Susan's response was felt
- 18:50Speaker 1: a little bit odd to us, Gladys, what are you
- 18:52Speaker 1: trying to do here? You know, it's another example of
- 18:55Speaker 1: a lack of active engagement in moving this case forward.
- 18:59Speaker 4: Now we have to acknowledge. You know, you don't have
- 19:03Speaker 4: to engage with us on the podcast at all. That's
- 19:05Speaker 4: not required. I just, again, like I said earlier, I
- 19:08Speaker 4: just feel like part of the story is missing, and
- 19:10Speaker 4: I'd prefer Jody's story be told properly and in its entirety.
- 19:14Speaker 4: So at some point, if if anyone on that side
- 19:18Speaker 4: the family wants to help us with the remainder of
- 19:19Speaker 4: this story, will gladly open up another episode and tell
- 19:23Speaker 4: that side of the story and make sure that we're
- 19:25Speaker 4: covering this because thoroughly as we.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Possibly can, and as we get to kind of a
- 19:32Speaker 1: wrap of where we are in this case. Right now,
- 19:34Speaker 1: at this point, listeners, you might be expecting us to say,
- 19:37Speaker 1: here's what we think happened, here's all the evidence, and
- 19:40Speaker 1: we feel strongly that this happened, and making a firm
- 19:43Speaker 1: statement about our opinion. But that's not what we're going
- 19:47Speaker 1: to do.
- 19:48Speaker 4: Yeah. Instead, we're going to move forward with a call
- 19:51Speaker 4: to action.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Yeah, we really want to stay true to our original purpose,
- 19:56Speaker 1: which is to tell Jody's story as opposed to point
- 20:00Speaker 1: fingers and be investigators.
- 20:02Speaker 3: So we have some.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Calls to action. We're going to start with some calls
- 20:05Speaker 1: to action for the community. Speak up.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Even if you think.
- 20:11Speaker 1: What you have heard, or what you recall, or even
- 20:14Speaker 1: possibly what.
- 20:15Speaker 3: You saw isn't relevant.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Please let law enforcement decide what.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Is relevant and what is not relevant.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Attend the vigils. You heard Gladys talk about the importance
- 20:28Speaker 1: of the vigils. We know they're in August and they
- 20:31Speaker 1: are in October. Join the Facebook group that we talked about.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Attend those vigils. Where the bracelets. We also heard Gladys
- 20:41Speaker 1: talk about how the Walcoala County Sheriff's Office generously provided
- 20:45Speaker 1: her with additional bracelets to hand out to people to
- 20:50Speaker 1: keep this story active. You walk around, you have that
- 20:53Speaker 1: bracelet on and people might say, hey, what is this
- 20:55Speaker 1: bracelet about, and you can tell them and that keeps
- 20:57Speaker 1: the story going. Finally, please don't be intimidated.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Yeah, it goes back to what we said earlier is
- 21:06Speaker 4: we know there are people out there that are not
- 21:07Speaker 4: wanting you to speak, not wanting to be involved. Do
- 21:11Speaker 4: not let anyone intimidate you. This murder can be solved.
- 21:16Speaker 4: We've seen then we have the ingredients to solve the murder.
- 21:20Speaker 4: The evidence is there, the conversations are there. It just
- 21:25Speaker 4: all needs to come together. If you know anything, go
- 21:28Speaker 4: to law enforcement and tell them.
- 21:31Speaker 1: And speaking of law enforcement, we have some calls to
- 21:33Speaker 1: action for law enforcement. We would we and Gladys's family
- 21:38Speaker 1: would really like to see more initiative from the Sheriff's
- 21:41Speaker 1: office with actively scheduling communication with the family. We know
- 21:46Speaker 1: that they have said anytime Gladys comes, she's welcomed, she
- 21:51Speaker 1: feels welcomed, But we don't really know that law enforcement
- 21:55Speaker 1: is actively scheduling meetings with Gladys. It seems to be
- 21:58Speaker 1: on her to go to them, and we would like
- 22:00Speaker 1: to see that. We'd like to see that change, and
- 22:03Speaker 1: please update the family.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Law enforcement when you were meeting with them.
- 22:08Speaker 1: What is the status of that DNA testing that Captain
- 22:11Speaker 1: Sarachi discussed in twenty twenty three. He talked about the
- 22:15Speaker 1: private labs and all of those kinds of things, and
- 22:18Speaker 1: I personally I don't need to have this information, but
- 22:21Speaker 1: the family does please share the status of that. There
- 22:24Speaker 1: was thousands of dollars that went into that testing, and
- 22:27Speaker 1: I'm not really sure that anybody knows what's gone on
- 22:30Speaker 1: with that or where it stands right now. We also
- 22:33Speaker 1: would like to be sure that the family is updated
- 22:37Speaker 1: on what leads are actually being followed up on. If
- 22:40Speaker 1: we're being told that this is an active case and
- 22:43Speaker 1: that is the reason why we are not getting much
- 22:47Speaker 1: contact with law enforcement and we are not getting any
- 22:49Speaker 1: records and what is actively being followed up on. There's
- 22:53Speaker 1: a difference between an open case and an active case,
- 22:55Speaker 1: and I think the family needs to know what is
- 22:57Speaker 1: actively being worked on within the scope of what law
- 23:00Speaker 1: enforcement is able to tell them.
- 23:02Speaker 6: That's right.
- 23:17Speaker 1: We do want to let listeners know that we have
- 23:21Speaker 1: another case coming up while we are not letting this
- 23:24Speaker 1: case go. We will not forget about this case. We
- 23:27Speaker 1: will not forget about Jody. We do have a listener
- 23:30Speaker 1: who recommended another case out of the Wacola County Sheriff's office,
- 23:35Speaker 1: and this is the case of a missing man named
- 23:38Speaker 1: Ian Rogers, and he disappeared just August of last year.
- 23:43Speaker 1: It wasn't even that long ago, and so that will
- 23:47Speaker 1: be our next case and we're excited to get into
- 23:49Speaker 1: that case and tell Ian's story and.
- 23:53Speaker 4: To finalize this episode. We thought a long time about
- 23:58Speaker 4: how we wanted to do this, how we wanted to
- 23:59Speaker 4: close out the Joby Kildore murder case, and we thought
- 24:02Speaker 4: of no better way to do it than for you
- 24:05Speaker 4: to hear from Gladys one more time talk about Jody.
- 24:10Speaker 6: Oh.
- 24:11Speaker 2: I just wanted to let everybody know what kind of
- 24:13Speaker 2: man he really was. I know still is in my sight,
- 24:19Speaker 2: but I just want to know, you know, I want
- 24:24Speaker 2: to know he was a good daddy of son, a husband,
- 24:33Speaker 2: had lots and lots of friends.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Despite extensive investigations by the Waucolla County Sheriff's Office and
- 24:54Speaker 1: the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, no arrests have been
- 24:58Speaker 1: made and the case remains unsolved. It is the only
- 25:01Speaker 1: unsolved homicide in Walcolla County. Authorities continue to seek information
- 25:06Speaker 1: from the public to help solve the case. The Kilgore
- 25:09Speaker 1: family has been vocal in their pursuit of justice, keeping
- 25:13Speaker 1: the case in the public eye and urging anyone with
- 25:16Speaker 1: information to come forward. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement
- 25:20Speaker 1: has also shared appeals for assistance on social media, emphasizing
- 25:25Speaker 1: the importance of community involvement in resolving this case. If
- 25:30Speaker 1: you have any information related to George Jody Kilgore's murder,
