- 4:00Speaker 10: not empty here in the studio. We've got quite a
- 4:03Speaker 10: full studio this morning. We have got the girls under
- 4:06Speaker 10: twelve folks on the in Victor team. We've got Emmy,
- 4:10Speaker 10: Abby and Raya. Good morning girls, how are you?
- 4:13Speaker 6: I'm good and we're more for them in a bit.
- 4:16Speaker 10: And we've also got the coaches at Craig Smith and
- 4:19Speaker 10: Liam Flannery. Good morning guys, Good morning, how are you doing.
- 4:24Speaker 10: It's a lovely, lovely day out there. Okay, I'm still
- 4:28Speaker 10: the first song on and then we'll be back and
- 4:31Speaker 10: having a chat with the girls and Craig and Lamb.
- 4:34Speaker 6: First one up this morning.
- 4:35Speaker 10: It's simple Minds and that sums me up really and
- 4:40Speaker 10: this one is called One Night Only.
- 4:56Speaker 6: All the way from Scotland.
- 4:57Speaker 10: They go Simple Minds and one night Only, one of
- 5:00Speaker 10: my favorite songs by Simple Mind don't you Forget about Me?
- 5:03Speaker 10: Brilliance Jim as I say, we've got the girls under
- 5:06Speaker 10: twelves in from Folks in Victory. We've already said good
- 5:09Speaker 10: morning to them, but we'll speak to first the captain
- 5:12Speaker 10: of the team.
- 5:13Speaker 6: Emmy, how are you doing. I'm very good, thank you,
- 5:16Speaker 6: and very expect to be here.
- 5:18Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, I understand that you've got a massive game tomorrow.
- 5:24Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 5:24Speaker 5: So if we win tomorrow, we've won the league under twelve.
- 5:28Speaker 10: Yeah, the league, that's I mean, that's fantastic. I mean
- 5:31Speaker 10: the ladies team of folks in the Victor they won
- 5:34Speaker 10: their league as well. So you know, two could have
- 5:38Speaker 10: two champions and they're both female. That says a lot
- 5:41Speaker 10: for the man, doesn't it. Guys, they've got a lot
- 5:44Speaker 10: to answer for next week. Emmy, you know you're the
- 5:48Speaker 10: captain of the team. What's he like to lead the
- 5:51Speaker 10: team out every every time you play?
- 5:54Speaker 5: It's really the Yeah, it's really fun. Honestly, a brilliant team.
- 5:58Speaker 5: It's really good.
- 5:59Speaker 10: And so you know, the catches say you must be
- 6:02Speaker 10: the best player in the team. You've got the leadership
- 6:06Speaker 10: qualities though. Obviously that's really good.
- 6:09Speaker 6: Abby. I believe it's your birthday today.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Yeah, it was on Thursday Thursday.
- 6:18Speaker 10: Are you still under twelve? Yeah, so we don't want
- 6:22Speaker 10: no ringers. She's shaking their idea. Yeah, I understand that there.
- 6:30Speaker 6: Is an eligible player. What's your position and in the team.
- 6:39Speaker 5: I'm a midfielder.
- 6:42Speaker 10: Are you the ball winner or you are the what
- 6:44Speaker 10: I used to call the spread? Oh, you get the
- 6:46Speaker 10: ball and you play it to your other players.
- 6:47Speaker 5: I'm a bit of both. I like winning the ball
- 6:49Speaker 5: and I like playing it to the wing and playing
- 6:51Speaker 5: it to all other players all round.
- 6:54Speaker 10: Star then raya good morning. Did you be having to
- 7:02Speaker 10: be with the mic about here? A little bit here?
- 7:05Speaker 10: And what's your position in the team?
- 7:06Speaker 11: In right wing?
- 7:08Speaker 6: Right wing? Oh?
- 7:09Speaker 10: Girl, there goes on my phone. I've turned it off.
- 7:16Speaker 10: You play a right wing? You scored many goals this year.
- 7:19Speaker 11: I've scored one and it was my first goal last week.
- 7:23Speaker 6: Brilliant. And how did you celebrate? How did you celebrate?
- 7:26Speaker 11: All the team just came rushing over to me.
- 7:29Speaker 6: It's the best feeling in the world, isn't it? When
- 7:30Speaker 6: you score? A girl?
- 7:31Speaker 10: It really is hopefully you're going to get a goal tomorrow, hopefully,
- 7:36Speaker 10: And I understand you're playing the team from Island Sheppey
- 7:40Speaker 10: tomorrow and Firefly by all accounts, it's a strange name
- 7:43Speaker 10: for a team.
- 7:44Speaker 6: It certainly is. Certainly is.
- 7:47Speaker 10: In the away fixture you beat you beat them three
- 7:50Speaker 10: near I believe we did.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Yeah, So we played them at their grounds over in Sheerness.
- 7:57Speaker 6: It was not the breaks, the pitches like a play field.
- 8:02Speaker 6: I think it was a pitch. It was the girls
- 8:06Speaker 6: where they come up trumps. Yeah.
- 8:09Speaker 10: It's no easy thing to go away at any any
- 8:11Speaker 10: sort of ground, and obviously when you're playing on a
- 8:14Speaker 10: not particularly good surface and you come away with the
- 8:16Speaker 10: victories makes it even better, it does.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yeah, And all seasons they've they've been doing that. They've
- 8:22Speaker 4: had some really tough fixtures against some brilliant teams and
- 8:27Speaker 4: as a team they've come together and beat and everybody
- 8:30Speaker 4: in the league so far, and I'm sure that they'll
- 8:31Speaker 4: they'll continue that tomorrow.
- 8:33Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't forget. They just need a point.
- 8:35Speaker 10: Will We'll let you know where they're playing and what
- 8:38Speaker 10: time and kick off and everything.
- 8:39Speaker 6: But Emmy, well on the last all three of you
- 8:42Speaker 6: girls what.
- 8:43Speaker 10: You obviously love your football, football teams you support, apart
- 8:45Speaker 10: from Folks in the victory of films.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Moving on, I support the best team in west hamulated, Okay, I.
- 8:56Speaker 11: Support Spurs.
- 8:59Speaker 10: Now they there's no fighting. What about the dads and
- 9:04Speaker 10: the coaches? Two teams you support them.
- 9:07Speaker 4: So yeah, I'm a I'm a Spurs fan waiting for
- 9:11Speaker 4: that Folks victim, of course.
- 9:13Speaker 2: But we had tickets for west Ham Spurs. They moved
- 9:19Speaker 2: to Sunday, so oh no, his choice at birthday and
- 9:23Speaker 2: of course with hopefully when the league's taking president.
- 9:26Speaker 6: So commitment to the teams.
- 9:28Speaker 4: That is commitment that it certainly is West Stadium and
- 9:32Speaker 4: watched West against Toham.
- 9:34Speaker 6: Live, I'd probably be Neil Neil, But no, no, no,
- 9:42Speaker 6: many many many years ago, early eighties.
- 9:43Speaker 10: I used to go and watch Spurs quite a lot
- 9:45Speaker 10: with my friends and yeah, West Ham Spurs games were
- 9:48Speaker 10: always pretty lively, shall we say? Yeah, I mean obviously
- 9:53Speaker 10: you you support those teams. Of you Actually, I was
- 9:56Speaker 10: just going to ask if you if you're actually gonna watch them,
- 9:58Speaker 10: but obviously you can't go tomorrow because you're playing in
- 10:01Speaker 10: that massive game.
- 10:03Speaker 6: Have you been before, Yeah.
- 10:05Speaker 5: I've been quite a lot of times. I think I went.
- 10:07Speaker 5: In a young age, I went quite a lot, and
- 10:10Speaker 5: since I was four, I've been going to west Ham
- 10:12Speaker 5: with Ames every year.
- 10:14Speaker 10: So yeah, okay, well I can honestly say I've got
- 10:18Speaker 10: my hands in their I've actually seen in west Han
- 10:19Speaker 10: Winter Trophy. I was at Wembley in nineteen eighty when
- 10:24Speaker 10: they beat Arsenal one nil. The Trevor Brooking falling over,
- 10:28Speaker 10: hit his head and went in, okay, what can another
- 10:34Speaker 10: tune and then we'll be back and we'll be speaking
- 10:36Speaker 10: to Craig and Lamb and the girls as well. So
- 10:39Speaker 10: but this one of these called Sunshine on a rainy Day.
- 10:42Speaker 10: Hopefully there'll be no rainy day and just only sunshine.
- 10:45Speaker 10: This is Zoe Zoe there Sunshine on a rainy day
- 11:23Speaker 10: from nineteen ninety blow me all right, remember that's if
- 11:26Speaker 10: that was yesterday. Anyway, moving on, as I said, we
- 11:30Speaker 10: got Leam and Craig in in this morning. Good morning, gentlemen,
- 11:33Speaker 10: how are we doing. It's a lovely day out there
- 11:36Speaker 10: and looking forward to tomorrow's game.
- 11:39Speaker 6: Can't wait? I am.
- 11:41Speaker 4: I said this morning to Emmy when I picked her up,
- 11:45Speaker 4: that I've been like a little kid all week where
- 11:47Speaker 4: I've just been so excited for tomorrow's game. I can
- 11:50Speaker 4: only imagine how how they feel. But yeah, we can't wait,
- 11:55Speaker 4: can't wait, have built up for it all season. It's
- 11:57Speaker 4: in their hands now. So yeah, it's gonna good.
- 12:00Speaker 6: Long, hard season.
- 12:01Speaker 10: And I mean last night I was at I was
- 12:04Speaker 10: at Sitting Boorn versus Burgess here in the playoff final.
- 12:07Speaker 10: We covered there for Seaside's radio, and you know, Sitting
- 12:12Speaker 10: Boorn had got one hundred and nine one hundred and
- 12:15Speaker 10: one points and they didn't get promotion. I mean, it's
- 12:19Speaker 10: a hard whole season and you know, to go down
- 12:22Speaker 10: it ended up in penalty kicks in the end, but
- 12:25Speaker 10: not to get promotion, and that it was awful. And
- 12:28Speaker 10: I'm sure that you know, even from the late men's
- 12:32Speaker 10: adult teamed right down to the kids under fives and
- 12:35Speaker 10: the sixes, you know, everybody puts in the same sort
- 12:38Speaker 10: of effort and you put the commitment into your team
- 12:43Speaker 10: and you know, obviously you want to do well.
- 12:45Speaker 6: But it doesn't always happen, does it? In football?
- 12:48Speaker 10: That's I think that's why we love it, isn't it.
- 12:51Speaker 10: You can't always be winners and there always has to
- 12:54Speaker 10: be a winner. And a loser as you draw. But
- 12:56Speaker 10: at the end of the day, I mean the team
- 13:00Speaker 10: you're playing tomorrow. We believe the bottom half of the league,
- 13:04Speaker 10: the team in second place that could compete you for
- 13:08Speaker 10: the title.
- 13:10Speaker 6: How many points are they behind you?
- 13:12Speaker 4: So it's actually the team in third. So it's Witsta
- 13:15Speaker 4: Ball Reds, who are a fantastic team. We played them
- 13:19Speaker 4: three times this season, they've all all every game has
- 13:23Speaker 4: been really close. So they've got they've got three games
- 13:28Speaker 4: to play. We've got just the one. Okay if if
- 13:31Speaker 4: which I can't see it happening. But if we were
- 13:34Speaker 4: to lose tomorrow, we can still only come joint top.
- 13:37Speaker 6: Okay, not that that's going to happen.
- 13:39Speaker 4: There's nowhere in The girls are going to smash its.
- 13:42Speaker 6: Splash it, Emmy.
- 13:44Speaker 10: You're going to lead your team out there tomorrow, and
- 13:46Speaker 10: you know you're got to. You've got to give another
- 13:48Speaker 10: extra ten percent from somewhere you get behind them. Even
- 13:51Speaker 10: if you do go down the goal early, don't panic
- 13:53Speaker 10: and get the girls going. And I understand that you
- 13:57Speaker 10: know there's only three of you here this morning, but
- 13:59Speaker 10: you are a team, aren't you. So I'm gonna give
- 14:02Speaker 10: a shout out to any of your other players that
- 14:04Speaker 10: you've got there.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Shout out to Evelyn, our goalie, I owner, Mikayla Autumn
- 14:08Speaker 5: and Either and also my other coach, Harry Nunn, who
- 14:13Speaker 5: got me into football.
- 14:14Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Okay, carrying on, I shout out Beth, Jessica Carr, Suky
- 14:22Speaker 5: and Lottie Jesse.
- 14:26Speaker 11: I shout out Tessie, Poppy and Amelia.
- 14:31Speaker 6: They're all your teammates, are they.
- 14:33Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 14:33Speaker 10: Yeah, hopefully we haven't missed anybody out.
- 14:37Speaker 6: We didn't do that one. And don't forget girls.
- 14:41Speaker 10: No raving tonight, no parties in bed by nine, lights out, no.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Phones, three weeks of books for breakfast.
- 14:52Speaker 6: Yeah, and I've.
- 14:53Speaker 10: Got the Lucas aid or is it these days? It's
- 14:56Speaker 10: not Lucas, I is Red but no, don't don't.
- 14:59Speaker 12: Go too young for Red Bulls.
- 15:03Speaker 10: How did you two get into the coaching the under
- 15:06Speaker 10: twelve teams in boys, Liam Craig.
- 15:10Speaker 6: Asked me last last summer. So my daughter was playing
- 15:13Speaker 6: for Folkston before then.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I was coaching boys another team for about nine years,
- 15:18Speaker 2: probably a little bit similar sself, but you was Folksing
- 15:20Speaker 2: before me, and as a dad, I mean I did
- 15:23Speaker 2: have boys football for years and my daughter came since
- 15:25Speaker 2: she was kind of four years old, tested me to
- 15:28Speaker 2: play when she got to seven, and then you kind
- 15:30Speaker 2: of naturally as a parent, falling to you your daughter's team,
- 15:33Speaker 2: so I kind of followed her with kind of craigs.
- 15:38Speaker 6: Yeah, sim of the thing.
- 15:38Speaker 4: And I think with coaching youth football, it's it's a
- 15:43Speaker 4: majority of the time it's one of the dads or
- 15:46Speaker 4: two of the dads of the the boys or girls
- 15:49Speaker 4: that played football.
- 15:50Speaker 6: And it was.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Three beginning of the first season that Raya joined, had
- 15:59Speaker 4: too fantast that coaches Dave and keV Kelly, who I
- 16:02Speaker 4: know has been in on the radio a number of times.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Dave unfortunately needed to move on because they were both
- 16:08Speaker 4: coaching their son's team as well, and I was helping
- 16:13Speaker 4: out kind of from from the day that I joined.
- 16:16Speaker 6: I it's a big commitment, isn't it.
- 16:18Speaker 10: When you take on any sort of sport and you
- 16:21Speaker 10: know you're obviously one hundred percent behind it or and
- 16:25Speaker 10: you're very committed. So you know that obviously is shown
- 16:29Speaker 10: through with the girls this season and then the doing
- 16:31Speaker 10: well in the league.
- 16:32Speaker 4: It is a massive commitment, but it's one that is
- 16:35Speaker 4: an absolute pleasure, especially when we've got a team like
- 16:37Speaker 4: we have.
- 16:38Speaker 6: The group of girls that we've.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Got are probably sitting over there with big smiles brushing them.
- 16:44Speaker 5: They are.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Every single one of them is absolutely amazing and it's
- 16:48Speaker 4: really what's what has kept them going all season and
- 16:51Speaker 4: that's why they're in the position that they are to
- 16:53Speaker 4: win the league tomorrow because they're such a great bunch
- 16:55Speaker 4: of girls and they really kind of support each other.
- 16:58Speaker 6: Yeah, obviously fantastic to hear with.
- 17:01Speaker 10: You know the lots of changes Folks in the Victor
- 17:04Speaker 10: with Josh Healy taking over. Are you flying under the
- 17:09Speaker 10: literally the Folks in the Victor banner under Josh and
- 17:11Speaker 10: the receipt Because I know there's a lot of change
- 17:14Speaker 10: in the youth set up at folksing the Victor this season.
- 17:18Speaker 6: How would that go? How would that be for you
- 17:20Speaker 6: going forward? And to be honest with.
- 17:23Speaker 4: You, the new setup at Folcusing has been absolutely amazing.
- 17:27Speaker 6: I agree.
- 17:28Speaker 4: We've seen it this year with the first the first
- 17:31Speaker 4: season that we've had the women's team you mentioned earlier
- 17:33Speaker 4: that they have gone on to win the league and
- 17:35Speaker 4: the support the Josh the rest as the director's first
- 17:39Speaker 4: team all the way through the support that they provide
- 17:42Speaker 4: to us as coaches, but the girls as well is unbelievable.
- 17:47Speaker 4: And getting the opportunity to be ball girls for both sides.
- 17:51Speaker 6: For the season.
- 17:52Speaker 10: Yeahot, I thought, I seeing a few of you out
- 17:54Speaker 10: there ball people.
- 17:58Speaker 6: We can't say ball boys now, can we.
- 18:00Speaker 2: And they regularly attend the games anyway, as well as
- 18:02Speaker 2: well as the winning women's games.
- 18:04Speaker 4: You mentioned earlier about Hayley coming in. So Mark's daughter
- 18:08Speaker 4: Izzy actually coaches along with Paul under thirteens yep, and
- 18:13Speaker 4: we will will play each other on a Monday.
- 18:16Speaker 6: We'll play friendly.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Against our under thirteens and Easy will do a lot
- 18:19Speaker 4: with the girls, so she will take so the ones
- 18:21Speaker 4: that aren't playing on the pitch at the time, she'll
- 18:23Speaker 4: come and do some drills with the girls every single
- 18:26Speaker 4: mon Monday. She makes a point of coming to speak
- 18:28Speaker 4: to all of the girls as well.
- 18:29Speaker 6: So brilliant. That's fantastic. I mean, that's great.
- 18:32Speaker 10: I mean next year, I know that the pitch will
- 18:35Speaker 10: be gone in the next few days. I believe it's
- 18:37Speaker 10: been dug up next week and the new click pit,
- 18:41Speaker 10: a new pitch, will hopefully be down for the start
- 18:44Speaker 10: of the season. Will you be hopefully using that one
- 18:46Speaker 10: as your your home games.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Well they so where we're going to we'll have the two.
- 18:51Speaker 4: So we're going to be fortunate enough not just have
- 18:53Speaker 4: one free g We're going to have the two within
- 18:55Speaker 4: the club, which I think where we've gone away to
- 18:58Speaker 4: play against teams that nowhere near as fortunate as what
- 19:01Speaker 4: we are to have the training facilities, plus the game
- 19:04Speaker 4: the match day facilities that we do. Adding a second pitch,
- 19:08Speaker 4: second free t pitch to that is it is absolutely brilliant.
- 19:11Speaker 4: I think it actually speaks volumes for what the football
- 19:14Speaker 4: club are doing in the local area.
- 19:16Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, as you know, I'm quite involved with
- 19:21Speaker 10: folks in the Victor as well and the media side,
- 19:25Speaker 10: but I'll probably wait fifty years for this to happen.
- 19:28Speaker 10: And you know, some people of the all moments agrees.
- 19:34Speaker 10: Some people don't like change, but I think you've got
- 19:36Speaker 10: to have change for the for the better. And I
- 19:39Speaker 10: could only applaud Josh Heedy for what he's doing at
- 19:42Speaker 10: the club and obviously he's putting a lot of money
- 19:45Speaker 10: into the club for it to be successful. I think
- 19:47Speaker 10: quite work out for the first team this year as
- 19:51Speaker 10: I've suffered home and away week in weeut. But you know,
- 19:56Speaker 10: hopefully now new managers in and new teams and new
- 19:59Speaker 10: players and hopefully we'll get to the goal that he
- 20:03Speaker 10: wants to get. And you know, even with the Ladies,
- 20:06Speaker 10: I mean we said about that earlier. They've won their league.
- 20:11Speaker 10: I think if they could have sparted a team in
- 20:14Speaker 10: our folks in Victors League Lewis, I mean they're Lewis
- 20:17Speaker 10: Ladies playing the Championship, which is the one under for
- 20:19Speaker 10: the Premier League, which you know your money unit is,
- 20:22Speaker 10: you know, Arsenal Spurs, let's say west Ham Tottenham's and
- 20:28Speaker 10: you know what, why can't the ladies do that? And
- 20:30Speaker 10: then obviously with the girls coming forward from what do
- 20:34Speaker 10: they start? Is this the youngest team under twelves or
- 20:37Speaker 10: is there a younger ladies of girls teams?
- 20:39Speaker 6: This is the youngest team at the moment. But we've
- 20:42Speaker 6: got open.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Training session to recruit for more players coming up on
- 20:45Speaker 2: the seventeenth of May, and then we're going from year four,
- 20:49Speaker 2: so this is year six and seven at the moment,
- 20:52Speaker 2: but we're going to recruit for the for the next wave.
- 20:55Speaker 10: I mean, that's great. You know, you've obviously started somewhere.
- 20:58Speaker 10: They're obviously a good team.
- 20:59Speaker 6: You don't.
- 21:00Speaker 10: You're not a bad team if you win the league.
- 21:01Speaker 10: At the end of the season, the best team wins
- 21:03Speaker 10: the league. That's I don't care. Blackburn Rovers beat by
- 21:09Speaker 10: the United ninety five to win the championship.
- 21:11Speaker 6: Were we the best team? Of course we were. We
- 21:13Speaker 6: won the league. Only man United fans out there, haha, Okay,
- 21:18Speaker 6: we'll never wrap it again. But there you go. That's
- 21:20Speaker 6: another story. It's even been longer for you.
- 21:27Speaker 10: Yeah, only I mean, you know the girls under twelves,
- 21:31Speaker 10: they're going to response obviously to hopefully play for the
- 21:33Speaker 10: Lazies first team. For folks off, it's whatever league that
- 21:36Speaker 10: is that will be in it, and you know Lionesses.
- 21:41Speaker 6: It could go on. Years ago it just used to
- 21:43Speaker 6: be a hobby for the girls. Now it can be
- 21:46Speaker 6: a career.
- 21:47Speaker 4: It is, and I think one of the things you
- 21:49Speaker 4: just mentioned a moment ago about change, people not necessarily
- 21:51Speaker 4: liking it. I think change from we mentioned it earlier
- 21:55Speaker 4: with the Lionesses winning the Euros. That brought about a
- 21:58Speaker 4: lot of change, and it did it folks then where
- 22:01Speaker 4: they were probably very I think there was one or
- 22:04Speaker 4: two girls teams now that's grown to five plus obviously
- 22:08Speaker 4: the ladies, and it's forever growing, so you know, hopefully
- 22:14Speaker 4: it does.
- 22:15Speaker 6: It just continues.
- 22:16Speaker 4: It does continue to evolve, and I think it will do,
- 22:18Speaker 4: and I think there'll be. One of the great things
- 22:21Speaker 4: about folks the women's side is there's some there's some.
- 22:24Speaker 4: There were teenagers playing within the side already. You know
- 22:27Speaker 4: a few of these girls could be knocking on.
- 22:29Speaker 6: That door exactly. This is what they got to inspire to.
- 22:33Speaker 10: If you put the training in and you what you
- 22:36Speaker 10: want it enough, and you're good enough, you you'll get there.
- 22:39Speaker 6: Definitely.
- 22:41Speaker 10: You mentioned that you've got an open day coming up,
- 22:43Speaker 10: so obviously you're going to be looking for more players
- 22:47Speaker 10: across the spectrum.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, so Liam's got the details here. I would
- 22:53Speaker 4: say there's the it's an open open session for all
- 22:57Speaker 4: years from year four current year of fours through to
- 23:01Speaker 4: year ten, So the year fours and year five's will
- 23:04Speaker 4: be from twelve to one pm on Saturday to seventeenth,
- 23:09Speaker 4: and then years six through to ten to six we're
- 23:13Speaker 4: six and seven through to year ten from one thirty
- 23:16Speaker 4: until three pm. I think we're in a really fortunate
- 23:19Speaker 4: position where you know, when you've got a great team
- 23:23Speaker 4: there's very little that you need to do, and actually
- 23:26Speaker 4: you really don't want to upset the apple cart as well.
- 23:28Speaker 4: So we're fortunate enough. It might be unfortunate for some goals,
- 23:31Speaker 4: but we're not really looking for many players. Maybe one
- 23:35Speaker 4: player to come into the team maybe, but I know
- 23:38Speaker 4: that the club are really actively looking to bring in
- 23:43Speaker 4: as many goals as they can do, and if that
- 23:44Speaker 4: means forming other teams or whatever it might be, then.
- 23:48Speaker 6: Are very active.
- 23:49Speaker 2: We get we get football and dads as well like
- 23:51Speaker 2: ourselves as build them up as coaches and then they
- 23:54Speaker 2: can take take a control of the team. And so yeah,
- 23:58Speaker 2: any any young girls listening and if aspiring to be
- 24:02Speaker 2: a footballer or whatever, I just want to come down
- 24:04Speaker 2: and kick it out, please come down the seventeenth of
- 24:07Speaker 2: mynd and join us.
- 24:08Speaker 10: You've said the dating, you haven't actually said the venue
- 24:12Speaker 10: that might help.
- 24:14Speaker 2: It's our home at the three Hills, at the three
- 24:16Speaker 2: Hills on the three D at the back of Folksing Victor.
- 24:20Speaker 6: Okay, so you've heard it first here you get done. It.
- 24:22Speaker 10: Is there any on social media or anything like that
- 24:24Speaker 10: where people can actually look at and and do find
- 24:28Speaker 10: out about this? Obviously we just said it, but you know,
- 24:31Speaker 10: some people might need to look it up if they
- 24:33Speaker 10: want to.
- 24:34Speaker 6: It will it will be.
- 24:36Speaker 4: It'll be on the folks Victor facebook. It is already
- 24:40Speaker 4: on the folks In Victor website. I believe following this
- 24:44Speaker 4: we will share it. Liam and I will both share
- 24:46Speaker 4: it on our social media as well. Okay, but we
- 24:49Speaker 4: will make sure that you know it will be it'll
- 24:52Speaker 4: be widely spread.
- 24:53Speaker 6: Yeah, obviously, that's that's what it needs to do.
- 24:55Speaker 4: It's down to other people as well to spread that
- 24:58Speaker 4: spread that message.
- 24:59Speaker 10: You you've got You've got the platform here on radio
- 25:02Speaker 10: folks In this morning, So hopefully two of our three
- 25:05Speaker 10: listeners might have increase Yeah, the girls here, Yeah, maybe
- 25:13Speaker 10: the other other team players listening in as well.
- 25:16Speaker 6: Okay, well, thank you guys listening.
- 25:18Speaker 10: Another song on this is fairly appropriate because it's somebody's birthday, Abby,
- 25:25Speaker 10: Happy birthday to you. We're gonna we've been asked to
- 25:28Speaker 10: play happy Birthday, so unfortunately on our playlist we don't
- 25:31Speaker 10: have it yet, have Happy Birthday to you, but as
- 25:34Speaker 10: we're all here, we are actually going to sing Happy
- 25:36Speaker 10: birthday to you, and then we're going to play a
- 25:38Speaker 10: song for you.
- 25:38Speaker 6: How about that Okay, she doesn't know very very well.
- 25:44Speaker 6: So I'll start off be birthday.
- 25:47Speaker 9: To Happy birthday too, Happy birthday, deer hay b birthday too.
- 25:59Speaker 6: It's cringing or what daughter on her birthday?
- 26:03Speaker 2: What can you do?
- 26:06Speaker 6: This is Stevie Wansar and this is called.
- 26:09Speaker 12: Lovely enough. Happy birthday.
- 26:37Speaker 10: There you Happy birthday Stevie Wonda from nineteen eighty.
- 26:40Speaker 6: Happy birthday, abby girl. Okay, you that.
- 26:47Speaker 10: This hour's slowly becoming towards the end. Okay, girls, you've
- 26:53Speaker 10: got that game tomorrow, twelve thirty kickoff, run us through
- 26:58Speaker 10: how you actually got into the game? And yeah, we'll
- 27:02Speaker 10: actually we're start with Ray. She's been sitting there very
- 27:04Speaker 10: patiently there. How did you get into football?
- 27:07Speaker 6: Rail?
- 27:09Speaker 11: It was ever since I saw my dad and my
- 27:12Speaker 11: brother leaving for football, I've ever wanted to follow their
- 27:17Speaker 11: dreams and their footsteps.
- 27:18Speaker 10: Okay, and you're you're obviously you're doing that at the
- 27:23Speaker 10: moment and hopefully tomorrow you'll be a crown to champion.
- 27:25Speaker 6: How does that actually feel to you? And what you know?
- 27:28Speaker 6: What advice can you give to girls.
- 27:30Speaker 10: Of your age that want to actually play football and
- 27:32Speaker 10: what it means to you and just the you know
- 27:36Speaker 10: runs through that.
- 27:38Speaker 5: I would say, do your best, don't worry about what
- 27:41Speaker 5: other people say, just do what your heart does, like,
- 27:45Speaker 5: just follow your heart.
- 27:46Speaker 6: Abb He's nod in her head. There. She totally agrees
- 27:48Speaker 6: with that one.
- 27:49Speaker 10: You know, I know there's true words and Emmy and
- 27:53Speaker 10: obviously you're the captain of the team.
- 27:57Speaker 6: Do you play football at school?
- 27:59Speaker 5: Yeah, because I go to Sangate Primary. There's a lot
- 28:01Speaker 5: of football there. Our coach, our school coach, Harry One.
- 28:05Speaker 5: That's when I first got into football. And like when
- 28:07Speaker 5: I was five six, okay, there was a school football
- 28:10Speaker 5: and then it progressed a Herald Cup and then I
- 28:11Speaker 5: joined the victor and it went on from there.
- 28:14Speaker 10: So yeah, I mean that's obviously, but that's it's great.
- 28:19Speaker 10: I mean under twelves and as I said, tomorrow you're
- 28:21Speaker 10: going to be You're going to be crown champions. There's
- 28:23Speaker 10: no two ways about it goes that, there's no there's
- 28:26Speaker 10: no good, there's gonna.
- 28:27Speaker 6: Be no defeat.
- 28:27Speaker 10: Tomorrow, You're gonna you're gonna smash it.
- 28:30Speaker 5: It's just been brilliant all the way through, really really good.
- 28:33Speaker 10: Yeah, And obviously the parents of all the the children
- 28:36Speaker 10: that you mentioned earlier on.
- 28:40Speaker 6: You get a lot of support from all those as well.
- 28:42Speaker 10: They all come along and watch you rain and shine,
- 28:45Speaker 10: and I could imagine it's not very nice on a
- 28:48Speaker 10: note for Ember day when it's raining or snow.
- 28:52Speaker 6: Okay, I mean that that. I mean, that's fantastic.
- 28:54Speaker 10: I mean the best of that to to any of you,
- 28:58Speaker 10: not any all of you tomorrow, anything else you'd like
- 29:01Speaker 10: to say, girls, before we finish and we go on
- 29:04Speaker 10: to Craig and Limb, I.
- 29:07Speaker 5: Would just say, go for it. Don't be scared of well,
- 29:10Speaker 5: don't be scared like what Raya said, don't be scared
- 29:12Speaker 5: of people think and just go for it and like
- 29:15Speaker 5: follow your dreams, fullow it your heart and just yeah.
- 29:18Speaker 10: And most of all, what you're going to do is
- 29:21Speaker 10: enjoy it. You've got to enjoy the football, win, lose
- 29:25Speaker 10: or draw.
- 29:26Speaker 6: It is I hate. So I can't say, I can't
- 29:28Speaker 6: say it's just a game, because it's not. It's more
- 29:30Speaker 6: important than that.
- 29:31Speaker 10: But you know, you've got you've got to enjoy what
- 29:33Speaker 10: you like, and you've obviously you enjoy what you do.
- 29:36Speaker 10: And as I say, tomorrow, you're going to be champions.
- 29:39Speaker 10: You're going to win the game, even if you don't
- 29:41Speaker 10: win it, you draw, you're going to be champions. How
- 29:43Speaker 10: are you I was wanting, I mean you, I know
- 29:45Speaker 10: you're twelve. How are you going to celebrate when you
- 29:48Speaker 10: win Tomorrow?
- 29:50Speaker 5: I think we're just going mad, dug out, go crazy. Yeah,
- 29:54Speaker 5: it's a break water around it. Everyone pour it and Craig.
- 30:00Speaker 6: Oops.
- 30:02Speaker 11: Tomorrow, boys, I think we're probably just going to mess around,
- 30:06Speaker 11: play some more football maybe, and just have fun.
- 30:10Speaker 10: That's what it's all about. Okay, guys, thank you girls
- 30:14Speaker 10: for coming in. We'll finish off with Craig and Liam.
- 30:19Speaker 10: Anything else you'd like to point put forward and like
- 30:22Speaker 10: to like to say before we finished this.
- 30:25Speaker 2: L this morning, I just want to thank all our parents, really,
- 30:30Speaker 2: all the children's parents.
- 30:33Speaker 6: Were all the driving. We've done a lot, quite a
- 30:34Speaker 6: little miles.
- 30:35Speaker 2: They've done a lot of miles this this this season
- 30:37Speaker 2: of the way games all across the across the county.
- 30:40Speaker 2: So and they're their commitment and support. So haven't been
- 30:42Speaker 2: possible without them.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Yeah, just echo, so excuse me echoed that. Really we've
- 30:48Speaker 4: got we're very fortunate to have not only an amazing
- 30:51Speaker 4: set of goals within the team, we've got a fantastic
- 30:55Speaker 4: bunch of parents that and they're week in week out
- 30:58Speaker 4: supporting the goals but also supporting Liam and I. So
- 31:01Speaker 4: whether it be helping out the goals, running the line,
- 31:03Speaker 4: there's wherever it might be, they're always there, like you say,
- 31:07Speaker 4: come rain or some sign, they're there to support the girls.
- 31:12Speaker 4: And I think tomorrow is not going to be just
- 31:16Speaker 4: and it's definitely going to be a day of celebration,
- 31:18Speaker 4: There's no two ways about it. These bunch of girls
- 31:20Speaker 4: have got it, but it's going to be a celebration
- 31:22Speaker 4: for all the players, all of the parents, us as coaches,
- 31:26Speaker 4: which there's also got a huge thank you two. A
- 31:30Speaker 4: lot of work goes behind the scenes and it's not
- 31:33Speaker 4: you don't see it at all, but we have. We've
- 31:36Speaker 4: got stando supporters. We've got Kat Morris and Tracy Nunn
- 31:40Speaker 4: who do an amazing amount of work for the youth
- 31:45Speaker 4: football and it's completely behind the scenes. Unfortunately, you know,
- 31:49Speaker 4: even as coaches we're seeing there on the sidelines week
- 31:52Speaker 4: in week out, but these people put in ten times
- 31:55Speaker 4: the work that we do. Because there's twenty four teams
- 31:57Speaker 4: within the folks the new setup, they've got support each
- 32:00Speaker 4: and every one of those. So huge, huge thank you
- 32:03Speaker 4: from us as coaches, but also from all of the
- 32:05Speaker 4: girls to those three because they do an amazing the
- 32:08Speaker 4: map work well.
- 32:09Speaker 10: Thank you very much guys for coming in this morning.
- 32:11Speaker 10: It has been much appreciated. keV will do a podcast
- 32:15Speaker 10: when he becomes back off of his Sunday in his
- 32:17Speaker 10: holiday in Cyprus. Twelve thirty tomorrow, Three Hills is the
- 32:23Speaker 10: place to be. Folksing in Victor girls under twelves versus
- 32:26Speaker 10: far fe eyes and they only need a point, but
- 32:30Speaker 10: they also need your support down there. Say get down
- 32:33Speaker 10: there tomorrow afternoon twelve thirty kickoff.
- 32:36Speaker 6: I'm free to get in. Yeah, free to get in.
- 32:39Speaker 6: Come along and watch.
- 32:40Speaker 10: Grab a beer from the dugout take it over watch
- 32:43Speaker 10: the girls should just say beer, other beverages are available.
- 32:49Speaker 10: Get down there, cheer the girls on hopefully another champions
- 32:54Speaker 10: team wearing folksing in Victor colors. As I say, thank
- 32:58Speaker 10: you very much Craig Leil for coming in. Any final words,
- 33:02Speaker 10: just thank you.
- 33:03Speaker 4: I do really appreciate not a problem being given the
- 33:05Speaker 4: platform to be to come and speak about girls football
- 33:08Speaker 4: in particular. Are fantastic folks in being too under twelves goals? Yeah,
- 33:12Speaker 4: just about to go and win the championship, so we
- 33:15Speaker 4: really really appreciate it.
- 33:16Speaker 6: Yeah, thank you, not a problem, You're more than welcome.
- 33:19Speaker 6: We like to.
- 33:21Speaker 10: Get anybody doesn't have to be football, any sort of sport.
- 33:23Speaker 10: If you've listening in this morning and you have been
- 33:25Speaker 10: inspired by that, you've got a football team, you've got
- 33:29Speaker 10: a netball team, whatever they, whatever sport it is, get
- 33:31Speaker 10: into contact with us here at radio folks then, and
- 33:34Speaker 10: if you like to come in and plug yourself I
- 33:37Speaker 10: hear on the show, we'll be more than happy for
- 33:40Speaker 10: me and keV to have you come in and talk
- 33:42Speaker 10: about your your particular sport. Anyway, I'm going to play
- 33:46Speaker 10: another couple of tunes here now while we say goodbye
- 33:49Speaker 10: to the under twelves and yeah, here we go. This
- 33:53Speaker 10: is one of my favorite bands. You get this every week.
- 33:56Speaker 10: I'm actually going to go see a tribute band of
- 33:58Speaker 10: this lot tonight. This is madness and it is the
- 34:01Speaker 10: sun and the rain, hopefully more sun than rain. Okay,
- 34:19Speaker 10: I'll just say goodbye to the girls and the Liam
- 34:23Speaker 10: and Craig they've now departed, and get some training in
- 34:28Speaker 10: for tomorrow.
