Speaker 1: Let's close out today's show with a special edition of
• 3:57
Speaker 1: On This Day in Bill's History, because this date marks
• 4:00
Speaker 1: an absolute foundation of everything we know and love about
• 4:03
Speaker 1: Bill's Mafia. Back in October of 1959, a young businessman
• 4:07
Speaker 1: out of Detroit named Ralph C. Wilson Jr. was looking
• 4:10
Speaker 1: to get into professional football as part of Lamar Hunt's
• 4:12
Speaker 1: struggling American Football League, the famous group of owners known
• 4:16
Speaker 1: as the Foolish Club. Originally, Wilson had his sights set
• 4:20
Speaker 1: on Miami. When Miami turned him down, he pivoted north
• 4:23
Speaker 1: to western New York. and professional football with Buffalo was
• 4:26
Speaker 1: officially born. From those early days in the AFL to
• 4:29
Speaker 1: two straight championships in 1964 and 1965, anchoring the AFL-NFL merger,
• 4:34
Speaker 1: and Ralph Wilson keeping the team rooted in Buffalo for decades,
• 4:38
Speaker 1: it all traces back to this foundational vision of football
• 4:40
Speaker 1: in western New York. Without that move, there is no
• 4:43
Speaker 1: Bills Mafia. Pretty cool day on Bills history. Before we
• 4:48
Speaker 1: close things out today, if you haven't checked it out yet,
• 4:50
Speaker 1: make sure you go back and watch our latest breakdown
• 4:52
Speaker 1: with Cody Alexander over at Match Quarters. Cody and I
• 4:56
Speaker 1: put Jim Leonard's defense on trial. With the defense sitting
• 4:59
Speaker 1: 30th in defensive EPA through the first five weeks, we
• 5:02
Speaker 1: dug into the film and data to find out what
• 5:04
Speaker 1: is actually fixable versus what might be a fatal flaw
• 5:07
Speaker 1: of this unit right now. Cody brings unbelievable insight to
• 5:10
Speaker 1: the defensive side of the ball, so if you want
• 5:12
Speaker 1: a real deep dive at what's gone wrong so far
• 5:15
Speaker 1: and if there's a plan to fix it, go to
• 5:17
Speaker 1: our YouTube channel and check that out. That's going to
• 5:19
Speaker 1: do it for us today on The Morning Charge. Do
• 5:22
Speaker 1: us a quick favor and hit that subscribe button. Leave
• 5:24
Speaker 1: a five-star review, and if you're enjoying the show, share

Speaker 1: it with a fellow Bills fan. For Colin Ritchie, I'm
