- 0:11Speaker 1: on the air were there's pract control live from the
- 0:17Speaker 1: Raising Caine Studio.
- 0:18Speaker 3: It's off the Bench.
- 0:44Speaker 4: All right, Welcome back in our number three Tuesday edition.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Here on off the Bench Tyler Sharp and Ladra villar
- 0:50Speaker 4: Rel Braxton Risuta. We've been trying to find a caffeine
- 0:53Speaker 4: free drinks for Laundra to drink and haven't found any
- 0:56Speaker 4: winter so far.
- 0:57Speaker 5: But I'll put I'm in the chat if you know us.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Apparently that's what she's gonna give up for lant I
- 1:02Speaker 4: don't participate in lant one.
- 1:03Speaker 5: I'm not Catholic.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Even if I was, though, I don't think I'd be
- 1:06Speaker 4: able to survive. So look, I'm a man that knows
- 1:08Speaker 4: my limitations. Let's go to the phone lines right now.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Our guy Nick Underhill of New Orleans and Dot Football
- 1:15Speaker 4: joins us. Right now, Nick, how are you this morning?
- 1:18Speaker 2: Doing great?
- 1:19Speaker 5: How you doing doing good? Uh?
- 1:21Speaker 4: Make you taking in any Marty girl out there in
- 1:23Speaker 4: the city today?
- 1:24Speaker 5: What you got?
- 1:25Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:25Speaker 2: I live like two blocks off Saint Charles so it's
- 1:28Speaker 2: kind of kind of not optional, like you're you're in it,
- 1:31Speaker 2: even if you don't want to be in it, like
- 1:32Speaker 2: they're bringing it to your house. But you ever, we're
- 1:33Speaker 2: out there, man, we're out there having a good time.
- 1:35Speaker 2: It's great to see the city's the weather has been
- 1:37Speaker 2: great this year. It's been it's been a great time.
- 1:41Speaker 5: Did you see Lane Kivin on Indimian Saturday?
- 1:44Speaker 2: I did, Yeah, And like everything's running on time this
- 1:47Speaker 2: year too, on top of that, so like that's a
- 1:49Speaker 2: major win. Like normally, normally these things are like two
- 1:52Speaker 2: and a half hours behind when they're supposed to start.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Like it seems like everything's running on time to clean up,
- 1:56Speaker 2: spend crazy good. So like New Orleans is on top
- 1:59Speaker 2: of things this year. But as far as Lane goes, yeah,
- 2:02Speaker 2: and then I've seen the video of like everybody coming
- 2:05Speaker 2: up to them to take pictures. I don't know that
- 2:07Speaker 2: I've ever seen someone regretted decision in real time the
- 2:10Speaker 2: same way that looks like in that in that video.
- 2:13Speaker 2: But I mean, I think it's awesome he's out there
- 2:15Speaker 2: and like I feel like the way he handled I
- 2:18Speaker 2: don't know if he saw the float where they were
- 2:19Speaker 2: kind of you know, comming him a little bit fun
- 2:21Speaker 2: and Gale Benson a little bit like him treating it
- 2:24Speaker 2: as a joke just kind of shows that he kind of,
- 2:26Speaker 2: you know, gets it, and even if he doesn't, he's
- 2:28Speaker 2: smart enough to pretend like it doesn't bother him. So
- 2:31Speaker 2: it just seems like Lane's kind of hitting the right
- 2:33Speaker 2: notes right now too, So you know, that's a big
- 2:35Speaker 2: part of being there, Like when people talk about and
- 2:38Speaker 2: all that stuff, like these are kind of the little
- 2:40Speaker 2: things beyond like just the coaching and winning that you've
- 2:44Speaker 2: kind of got to just be cool with and roll with.
- 2:46Speaker 2: And him getting that early on even again, like if
- 2:49Speaker 2: he's just it's smart enough to know that that's the
- 2:51Speaker 2: right pr play, that's good because I don't feel like
- 2:54Speaker 2: Brian Kelly got that right away at all. He tried
- 2:56Speaker 2: and it just came off his face. Like Lane's kind
- 2:59Speaker 2: of you know, he's sit in the right moves like
- 3:01Speaker 2: Kyler shuck. You've seen him at all the right moves
- 3:03Speaker 2: over and over and over. Like that stuff ends up
- 3:06Speaker 2: mattering in the end, you know. Like I'm on a
- 3:09Speaker 2: rank here about Marty drawn out relate some people like
- 3:12Speaker 2: I feel like how like you know, like Dyne Williamson
- 3:14Speaker 2: is someone who never really has felt like our guy.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Like he's never been out there. He's never been You
- 3:20Speaker 2: don't see him at prade, you don't see him wearing
- 3:22Speaker 2: like a Saints jersey anywhere. Like just those little things
- 3:25Speaker 2: when people want to start calling you bat and you
- 3:28Speaker 2: you know it's a guy from Chicago like that, don't
- 3:30Speaker 2: get Louisiana behind you. I'm rallying for But when you're
- 3:33Speaker 2: not that guy, like, they aren't going to show up
- 3:35Speaker 2: for you the same way. So like those little things matter, man,
- 3:37Speaker 2: Like you can just just show up and try to
- 3:39Speaker 2: be part of the community and you're gonna have built
- 3:41Speaker 2: some loyalty forever. So I think I think Layne is
- 3:43Speaker 2: smart to recognize that right away.
- 3:46Speaker 5: All right, nixt think about New Orleans.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Obviously, New Orleans Saints got a draft coming up here
- 3:51Speaker 4: in April, and the name Jeremiah Love.
- 3:54Speaker 5: I keep seeing it pop up.
- 3:56Speaker 4: And I keep seeing people get into heated debates over
- 3:58Speaker 4: this name. Some people like it, some people hate it.
- 4:01Speaker 4: In your opinion, how serious of an option is that
- 4:04Speaker 4: for the Saints in realm.
- 4:04Speaker 2: One, Yeah, I think it's a It's a real option.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I'm running in my computer right now to get you
- 4:10Speaker 2: some spreadsheet because I got some numbers that I want
- 4:12Speaker 2: to uh that I want to rattle off here. But
- 4:14Speaker 2: I think it's a real option. I think I think he's,
- 4:16Speaker 2: you know, in this draft, in this class with that player.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Like I think the thing that people do that drives
- 4:22Speaker 2: me crazy when when they have these conversations is that
- 4:24Speaker 2: they never kind of equate it with what's actually happening.
- 4:28Speaker 2: They just have these hard and fast roles like a
- 4:30Speaker 2: lot would never take a running back in the top ten. Cool,
- 4:32Speaker 2: Like I generally agree with that too, But in a
- 4:35Speaker 2: draft where there's really no quarterbacks besides the one, the
- 4:40Speaker 2: offensive tackles aren't that great. The best pass rusher as
- 4:43Speaker 2: Will Campbell's arms, like, you aren't going to have like
- 4:46Speaker 2: necessarily a ton of guys pushing other people down. So
- 4:49Speaker 2: this is a week top ten draft, so I think
- 4:53Speaker 2: you kind of gotta gotta take that into consideration. And
- 4:56Speaker 2: then when you look at Jeremiah Love, I think he's
- 4:59Speaker 2: just the uh old. I'm looking this up real quick,
- 5:05Speaker 2: But I think when you talk about Jeremiah Love like
- 5:08Speaker 2: he's a special player, like his numbers, like, you start
- 5:11Speaker 2: doing these comparisons to say Kwan to give to uh
- 5:15Speaker 2: bjarn to everybody else that that that you know, you
- 5:21Speaker 2: look at like the numbers that are just stacked them
- 5:23Speaker 2: up incredibly in his favor, and you start bringing it
- 5:26Speaker 2: down by run type, vers top twenty five opponents, all
- 5:30Speaker 2: these things, Like his numbers stand well above everybody else.
- 5:33Speaker 2: The average is eight yards of carry on outside one
- 5:35Speaker 2: runs like those are or numbers that translate to the NFL,
- 5:39Speaker 2: like you're just hitting the crease and you're going and
- 5:41Speaker 2: obviously you know the competition level is a little bit different.
- 5:44Speaker 2: But I don't think that you can. I don't think
- 5:52Speaker 2: that you can just dismiss him in that role. Like
- 5:54Speaker 2: I think he's a special player. And again, like if
- 5:56Speaker 2: you're telling me that that you can get a pass
- 5:58Speaker 2: rusher in the positional value is better there and he's
- 6:01Speaker 2: graded equally to Jeremiah Love, I'm taking that ever least
- 6:05Speaker 2: single time. But if you're telling me that it's a
- 6:08Speaker 2: little bit different, you know, I'm looking at the running
- 6:11Speaker 2: back and I got to look at the special player
- 6:13Speaker 2: and like he does everything, Like all right, I got
- 6:16Speaker 2: it right here, Like Jeremiah Love, is it supposed to
- 6:19Speaker 2: run rate was seventeen percent. Djon Robinson's was sixteen percent,
- 6:24Speaker 2: Ashton Jensen's was sixteen, Barkley was sixteen, Gibbs was sixteen percent.
- 6:28Speaker 2: So you're ahead of all these guys there yards before
- 6:32Speaker 2: contact versus after contact. Saque was pops two before contact.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Love is second at two point oh five. After contact,
- 6:43Speaker 2: Love is at four point three. That's that's the best
- 6:47Speaker 2: among that whole group. Inside zone runs, he's the best
- 6:50Speaker 2: one on those six point nine seven yards per carry
- 6:52Speaker 2: out of the whole group talking about Jeremiah Love, gen
- 6:54Speaker 2: T Dejon, Jamior Gibs, and Taekuon Barkley. Outside zone runs,
- 6:58Speaker 2: he's top of that list too. Power runs, he's a
- 7:03Speaker 2: little he's thirty on the list. The counter runs, he's
- 7:06Speaker 2: he's stirted on the list again, Like he just go
- 7:08Speaker 2: down and you can go through all these and he's
- 7:10Speaker 2: better than people that are, you know, the the top
- 7:14Speaker 2: twelve picks in the NFL drafts, and the numbers just
- 7:16Speaker 2: stack up so favorably on all of them, and then
- 7:20Speaker 2: you know, I think the most impressive thing about him
- 7:23Speaker 2: is is that against loaded boxes, he averaged almost six
- 7:26Speaker 2: yards of carry. Like these numbers are insane, and like
- 7:30Speaker 2: nobody else in this group compares to a lot of them.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I think he's genuinely special. And as you go through this,
- 7:35Speaker 2: so I'm gonna write something on our side, like if
- 7:37Speaker 2: you go through this, like you can start to see
- 7:39Speaker 2: where the GENK case deterior rates as you get like
- 7:41Speaker 2: more on like a molecular level of breaking this down,
- 7:45Speaker 2: and you see where a lot of kind of himself.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I think, I think he's different. I would not recall
- 7:49Speaker 2: him picking him back.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I hear a lot of people say, like the pushback
- 7:54Speaker 4: of drafting to Jeremiah Love that highest, Yeah, we like
- 7:57Speaker 4: the player if he's the final piece for the Saints.
- 8:00Speaker 4: And then they go on to say, yo, you know
- 8:02Speaker 4: you need this this and that's like in your opinion,
- 8:05Speaker 4: not just to Jeremiah Love, like running back in general
- 8:08Speaker 4: for you, how high up is that on the priority list?
- 8:12Speaker 2: I think it's up on the power you list. And yeah,
- 8:14Speaker 2: look I think you do got to have all that.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Like all those things are true. But like if you're
- 8:17Speaker 2: telling me that you can't go in the free agency
- 8:19Speaker 2: and say, hey, look like we want to add too
- 8:21Speaker 2: interior offensive lineman, spend a lot of money on them
- 8:23Speaker 2: so that we can go draft Jeremiah Love. I don't
- 8:26Speaker 2: think it's not hard to do. I don't understand why
- 8:28Speaker 2: it's always talked about in a way where it's like
- 8:30Speaker 2: mission impossible to do it and you just got to
- 8:32Speaker 2: have the full scale plan. But like, I think this
- 8:34Speaker 2: is always a little bit disingenuous too, because anything you're drafting,
- 8:37Speaker 2: if you aren't building the right structure on him, you're
- 8:39Speaker 2: wasting that player, Like Miles Garrett's being wasted in Cleveland, right,
- 8:44Speaker 2: But nobody's like don't draft a pass rusher because he
- 8:46Speaker 2: doesn't change your fortunes immediately. You obviously always have to
- 8:49Speaker 2: build a good team now, Like, yeah, the different perier
- 8:52Speaker 2: is that the positional values lower, like the argument for it,
- 8:55Speaker 2: And I think it's especially true like when you're in
- 8:57Speaker 2: a different cap situation too, Like positional value matters a
- 9:00Speaker 2: ton in that instance, because like if you're the Saints
- 9:03Speaker 2: in twenty nineteen, let's chuse twenty eighteen. It's a real example,
- 9:07Speaker 2: Like if you're the Saints in twenty eighteen, if you're
- 9:09Speaker 2: up against the cap, you don't have the money to
- 9:10Speaker 2: go out to really sign a difference maker or pass rusher.
- 9:13Speaker 2: You got to kind of try to do something to
- 9:14Speaker 2: get Marcus Stavenport because it's going to change your fortunes,
- 9:17Speaker 2: and you have no other way to acquire that player,
- 9:19Speaker 2: and you don't have the cap space to go out
- 9:21Speaker 2: and get it. So you've got to try to do
- 9:23Speaker 2: these things so they become a greater consideration. But if
- 9:25Speaker 2: you're the Saints and you have a rookie quarterback in
- 9:28Speaker 2: your cap, you have the dead money this year, you're
- 9:30Speaker 2: a little iffy on the cap this year. But if
- 9:31Speaker 2: you actually know all the cap works like they're in
- 9:33Speaker 2: the clear next year, nobody's gonna be able to say
- 9:35Speaker 2: they aren't the clear because the numbers are going to
- 9:37Speaker 2: be incredibly obvious. Like, I think you have a little
- 9:39Speaker 2: bit more wig over them because you have five years
- 9:41Speaker 2: from now really until that first bloated cap number hits
- 9:44Speaker 2: on shuck if you sign them to an expection because
- 9:46Speaker 2: of the way you can structure that contract. So like
- 9:49Speaker 2: the idea to me that that like positional value, you
- 9:51Speaker 2: should drive conversation here. No, Like I think the Saints
- 9:54Speaker 2: are in a situation where where just the quality of
- 9:57Speaker 2: the player should be at the forefront of it, because
- 10:00Speaker 2: you have the financial wiggle room over the next five
- 10:03Speaker 2: years to kind of construct it however you want. So,
- 10:07Speaker 2: you know, I just think there's a lot that goes
- 10:08Speaker 2: into it, and I think every situation is unique. Again,
- 10:11Speaker 2: Like if you're telling me Ruben Bain Junior is grated
- 10:14Speaker 2: exactly the same as Jeremiah Love, I'm taking Ruben Bain.
- 10:18Speaker 2: But if you're telling me that Jeremiah Love is higher
- 10:21Speaker 2: and Bain's below, I'm literally drafting Bpa because I just
- 10:26Speaker 2: don't think like I think when you're in a rebuilding,
- 10:28Speaker 2: you have pass space, which is thinks they're going to have,
- 10:30Speaker 2: Like just getting the best players on your team is
- 10:33Speaker 2: this thing that's going to get into the next level.
- 10:36Speaker 2: It's not going to be well, we got good value
- 10:38Speaker 2: on a pass rusher and good value on a running back. Like, no,
- 10:41Speaker 2: go go buy the pass rusher if you think he's better,
- 10:44Speaker 2: and draft the running back if you think he's better.
- 10:47Speaker 2: And who cares. Like you got five years to kind
- 10:49Speaker 2: of get everything into place and be ready, But like
- 10:51Speaker 2: right now, you just need to be building a team
- 10:53Speaker 2: to take advantage of this this rookie quarterback. And the
- 10:56Speaker 2: best way to do that is just to build the
- 10:58Speaker 2: best team.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Mc roll.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Those that football our guest right now, Nick, If they do,
- 11:02Speaker 4: in fact go Jeremiah Love round one.
- 11:05Speaker 5: How do you think the rest of the draft falls
- 11:07Speaker 5: were the Saints?
- 11:08Speaker 4: I mean everyone everyone wants to talk receiver, they want
- 11:11Speaker 4: to talk pass rusher, Like, where do you think it
- 11:13Speaker 4: falls after Jeremiah Love?
- 11:15Speaker 5: If they do go that way, I.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Think it's a good draft, like for those two two
- 11:19Speaker 2: like those two positions specifically, Like I think it's kind
- 11:22Speaker 2: of deep on on pass rushers, Like I think second
- 11:26Speaker 2: third round, like the Illinois guys will probably be there.
- 11:28Speaker 2: There's a tennesseee pass rushers that will probably be there.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Both those guys are pretty good, you know, they got
- 11:33Speaker 2: from Millais. I think I had like eleven and a
- 11:34Speaker 2: half stacks last year, eleven stacks like and he's probably
- 11:38Speaker 2: around there. Got to show you can do a little
- 11:39Speaker 2: bit more in the run game. But like I think
- 11:41Speaker 2: you can hit. I think you can hit on wide
- 11:43Speaker 2: receiver and as rusher in rounds two and three and
- 11:46Speaker 2: get guys that can that can help, you know, and
- 11:50Speaker 2: also like probably hear the end of the first round,
- 11:52Speaker 2: like if if you really wanted to get a difference maker,
- 11:56Speaker 2: like the uh the other Miami pass Rusher is probably
- 11:59Speaker 2: gonna be available mess with Orf like probably probably in
- 12:01Speaker 2: the twenties. Like as things look right now, I won't
- 12:04Speaker 2: be surprised if he actually gets moved up a little
- 12:06Speaker 2: bit if this process goes along. But they guys there
- 12:09Speaker 2: that I think you can go get, like Chris bella
- 12:11Speaker 2: wide receiver coming up to ACL like he could dip
- 12:14Speaker 2: a little bit and he already has built in chemistry
- 12:16Speaker 2: with with Shock. Obviously they were both at Louisville and
- 12:19Speaker 2: twenty twenty four. I think he averaged like almost eight
- 12:21Speaker 2: yards after the catch per reception like that. That's something
- 12:26Speaker 2: they badly need in this offense. Like Surrat from uh
- 12:30Speaker 2: Indiana's going to be there. You know, there's a ton
- 12:33Speaker 2: of guys that I think you can get it either
- 12:34Speaker 2: one of those positions that can probably help. Obviously, you know,
- 12:38Speaker 2: Jordan Tyson and Makaya Lemon and Karnil State are like
- 12:41Speaker 2: way better than the rest of the group, and they're
- 12:43Speaker 2: gonna probably be top ten, top twelve pix. But you know,
- 12:46Speaker 2: I think you wait a little bit, you can get
- 12:48Speaker 2: a difference maker. It's some of those spots. So however
- 12:51Speaker 2: you kind of want to do it, I think just
- 12:52Speaker 2: think fit in a really good spot. Like, I think
- 12:54Speaker 2: they can get somebody at eight to help their offense.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Look if if if a lot, say Taylor goes like
- 13:00Speaker 2: and you told me they took Blaine, Like, I wouldn't
- 13:03Speaker 2: hate that pick at all. Like, I think that would
- 13:05Speaker 2: be a good pick too. Caleb Downs would be a
- 13:06Speaker 2: good pick there, you know, David Bailey, Ruben Baying, Like
- 13:10Speaker 2: there's a lot of stuff they can do. But yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 2: if they go running back at eight, I still think
- 13:13Speaker 2: they can check off those other things, probably grab a
- 13:16Speaker 2: garden round four. Like, there's just so many needs good
- 13:19Speaker 2: that if you just start drafting the best players at
- 13:22Speaker 2: every spot, the guys that you think are actually the
- 13:25Speaker 2: best players, instead of chasing we got to get this,
- 13:27Speaker 2: we gotta get this. I don't think they can screw up.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Like I think your odds of hitting on your picks
- 13:33Speaker 2: like go way up if you aren't chasing that stuff.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Like every single time we talk about one of these
- 13:37Speaker 2: guys and it's like, ah, like this pick didn't work,
- 13:40Speaker 2: Trevor Penning, they felt like they had to go get
- 13:42Speaker 2: a tackle. The squad has been a little bit ify
- 13:44Speaker 2: with the health and you know everything overall, I still
- 13:47Speaker 2: am very high on his potential, but like they backed
- 13:50Speaker 2: themselves from the corner where it was like they have
- 13:51Speaker 2: to take a tackle whether it's the third best one
- 13:54Speaker 2: available or the fourth best one available, Like andres Peek
- 13:57Speaker 2: kind of fell into that box a little bit. Like
- 14:00Speaker 2: every single time Sheldon Rankins was like they got to
- 14:03Speaker 2: get the interior pass rusher, they got to every single time,
- 14:06Speaker 2: like they chase that like that, that's where the mistakes
- 14:09Speaker 2: end up getting made. So if they really do DPA,
- 14:12Speaker 2: like I feel like they're in a way better situation.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Nick, you got a couple of big time veterans on
- 14:18Speaker 5: this team. Who's uh.
- 14:20Speaker 4: The Saints have to make a decision on their future.
- 14:22Speaker 4: And of course I'm talking Cam Jordan and to Mario Davis.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Where do you think things stand with them? I mean,
- 14:27Speaker 4: I imagine the Saints and Saints fans would love to
- 14:30Speaker 4: have both of them back, But where do things kind
- 14:31Speaker 4: of stand right now?
- 14:33Speaker 2: If I had to make a production prediction today, I
- 14:35Speaker 2: would predict Cam back to Mario the Mario leaves, and
- 14:39Speaker 2: I think they want both of them back. I just
- 14:41Speaker 2: think they want both of them back at a specific price.
- 14:44Speaker 2: And you know, I think to Mario is somebody who
- 14:46Speaker 2: is incredibly intentional with with his words and what he says,
- 14:50Speaker 2: like his postgame press conferences or pre playing sermons. A
- 14:54Speaker 2: lot of times like they'll come them with his talking
- 14:56Speaker 2: points for his weekly media session that that he's you know,
- 14:59Speaker 2: saying for well, yeah, he wants fansy here because it's
- 15:02Speaker 2: intended for everybody in the building to hear it. And
- 15:04Speaker 2: you can you can just tell he prepares and he
- 15:06Speaker 2: thinks about everything, and he's thoughtful. So when he's out
- 15:09Speaker 2: there talking about you know, the business things to do
- 15:11Speaker 2: a line and you know he's looking at his options
- 15:13Speaker 2: and his door is open. I thank him at his word.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I don't think he just says those things. And every
- 15:18Speaker 2: other time this put track is aspiring, like there wasn't
- 15:21Speaker 2: that stuff he wasn't going on, you know, Ay Adams
- 15:24Speaker 2: Show and doing these press scores, and you know, I
- 15:27Speaker 2: think it's all very intentional. I don't think the doors
- 15:29Speaker 2: closed on him coming back. I think he'd be open
- 15:31Speaker 2: to coming back. But I do think that you know,
- 15:34Speaker 2: he's looking for just that that right combination of situation,
- 15:39Speaker 2: playing time, coach, money, opportunity. And I also think, you know,
- 15:44Speaker 2: he's very aware that he's you know, in the backside
- 15:47Speaker 2: of his thirties, he's stacked up a lot of accolades
- 15:50Speaker 2: and he's probably right on that touch to getting into
- 15:53Speaker 2: the Hall of Fame and another all Proud would probably
- 15:56Speaker 2: do it. And you know, if you're playing for you know,
- 15:59Speaker 2: I let the Rams. Like, if you're playing for the
- 16:01Speaker 2: Rams and you're on Monday Night football, Sunday night football,
- 16:04Speaker 2: you're in the playoffs, Chris palins Worth saying your name
- 16:06Speaker 2: every night when everybody, you know, all the voters are
- 16:09Speaker 2: watching and you're making plays and they're highlighting you, I
- 16:13Speaker 2: think the odds of getting those accolagues goes up a
- 16:15Speaker 2: little bit. And you know, I think that fit where
- 16:17Speaker 2: he's at. I think he's he's at that legacy point
- 16:21Speaker 2: in the Saints are on the up and up, and
- 16:22Speaker 2: look going back to him being intentional, like him constantly
- 16:26Speaker 2: talking about how it was the happiest he's been playing
- 16:28Speaker 2: football in a long time. Like, I think that means
- 16:31Speaker 2: a lot too. I think he really enjoyed playing for
- 16:34Speaker 2: Brandon Staley, and I think things with the previous regime
- 16:37Speaker 2: kind of you know, started to wear out and it
- 16:39Speaker 2: took the joy out of the game a little bit,
- 16:42Speaker 2: so I think, you know him feeling that like probably
- 16:44Speaker 2: as to his ability to chase out on Jesse. So
- 16:46Speaker 2: I think there's a lot of things about here that
- 16:48Speaker 2: he likes. But I also think that he's definitely open
- 16:51Speaker 2: to the opportunity elsewhere. And I just think he's too
- 16:54Speaker 2: good of a player, and I think he's he's someone
- 16:57Speaker 2: that could definitely help the contender get over the hum.
- 17:01Speaker 2: So I disrespect his game too much to assume that
- 17:03Speaker 2: that good offer isn't going to come. So my guests
- 17:05Speaker 2: would be that he goes. But you know, I think
- 17:08Speaker 2: the door is definitely open both ways.
- 17:10Speaker 4: Nick Conderhill of New Orleans Dot Football. Nick, thanks so
- 17:13Speaker 4: much for hopping on with me today.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Yeah, no promise.
- 17:17Speaker 4: All right, That wasn't that counder Hill talking all things

- 20:31Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in tuesday edition of Off the Bench,
- 20:35Speaker 4: Tyler Tarump here with you, Elandravillarrial Braxton.
- 20:38Speaker 5: Risuto here as well.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Well, guys, Lane Kiffin wins again because it was reported
- 20:46Speaker 4: on Friday, reports its surface that safety's coach Jake Olsen
- 20:51Speaker 4: would leave LSU to become the safety's coach with the
- 20:55Speaker 4: Washington Commanders. Well, yesterday afternoon, Pete Nacos of one three
- 21:00Speaker 4: reported that Olson will remain with the Tigers on the
- 21:03Speaker 4: coaching staff.
- 21:06Speaker 5: Again.
- 21:06Speaker 4: It's just another win for Lane Kiff. I mean, think
- 21:09Speaker 4: about it. Shortly after Kiffin got this job. I mean
- 21:12Speaker 4: it was just a few days before that early signing period.
- 21:15Speaker 4: And remember all the talk was Labar Brown, Richard Anderson.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Are they going to sign in the early signing period
- 21:20Speaker 4: or are they going to wait? The reason they were
- 21:22Speaker 4: considering waiting was because the status of Blake Baker was
- 21:26Speaker 4: up in the area it interviewed for the two lane
- 21:28Speaker 4: head coaching job. Everyone here really expected Blake Baker to
- 21:32Speaker 4: take that job. Well, at the last second, Lane Kiffin
- 21:35Speaker 4: convinced him one way or the other to stay here.
- 21:38Speaker 4: In Ben rude. So Blake Baker back as LSU defensive coordinator.
- 21:42Speaker 4: That means that Corey Raymond stays. That means that Jake Olsen,
- 21:46Speaker 4: who came with Blake Baker from Missouri, is over here.
- 21:50Speaker 4: I mean, basically, your entire defensive staff stayed outside of
- 21:55Speaker 4: your D line coach because Blake Baker did not take
- 21:58Speaker 4: that two lane job, and he goes far beyond the
- 22:02Speaker 4: coaching staff. Lane Kiffin said at his press conference a
- 22:07Speaker 4: few weeks ago recapping the entire signing class, whether it
- 22:10Speaker 4: was the transfer portal to high school players back in
- 22:14Speaker 4: you know, about three weeks ago that he was asked
- 22:16Speaker 4: the question, why did you feel the need to follow
- 22:20Speaker 4: Sam Levitt to Knoxville and talk to him one more time?
- 22:25Speaker 5: And then Kiffin was very blunt.
- 22:27Speaker 4: He said, you know, I really thought I should have
- 22:29Speaker 4: sealed the deal and not let him leave Van Rouge
- 22:31Speaker 4: without committing. I wasn't able to do that, and I
- 22:34Speaker 4: realized my mistake, so I flew out to Knoxville to
- 22:37Speaker 4: talk to him. Kiffin said, I don't like being told no.
- 22:40Speaker 4: When someone tells me no, it only makes me want
- 22:43Speaker 4: to keep going even more so he did that with
- 22:46Speaker 4: Sam Levitt he went up to Knoxville. He talked to him, Boom,
- 22:49Speaker 4: Sam Levittson Ulshu Tiger. He did it with Blake Baker.
- 22:54Speaker 4: He talked to Baker. Baker pulled his name out of
- 22:58Speaker 4: contention for the two lane job, and he convinced the
- 23:02Speaker 4: other two quarterbacks after sam Levitt side like you got
- 23:06Speaker 4: Landon Clark and sam Levitt pretty much.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Back to back.
- 23:08Speaker 4: Clark was actually first, but it was within about a
- 23:10Speaker 4: twenty four hour window of each other. And then you
- 23:13Speaker 4: still convinced Hussan Longstreet from USC to come over. There's
- 23:18Speaker 4: a lot of schools who's on Long Street could have
- 23:19Speaker 4: went to that had a much easier path, a much
- 23:22Speaker 4: less competitive path to the field, to that starting job.
- 23:25Speaker 4: But Lane Kiffin has a way of convincing people, Hey
- 23:29Speaker 4: buy into my vision. There's a chance we do special
- 23:31Speaker 4: things here. And Jake Olsen's just the latest pulls his
- 23:35Speaker 4: name out of contention to be the safety's coach with
- 23:39Speaker 4: the Washington Commanders.
- 23:40Speaker 5: We saw this with Charlie Wysh Jr.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Remember Charlie White Junior was going back and forth between
- 23:45Speaker 4: Ole Miss and LSU due to the playoff run, and
- 23:47Speaker 4: Tiger fans were like Okay, well, when he's done with
- 23:50Speaker 4: the old miss Rod, he'll come over here. Then multiple
- 23:53Speaker 4: NFL teams he was linked to them for the offensive
- 23:56Speaker 4: coordinator position. A lot of people thought he was going
- 23:58Speaker 4: to take that Pittsburgh Steel offensive coordinator position.
- 24:01Speaker 5: And what does Charlie Wise Jr.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Do.
- 24:04Speaker 4: He ultimately pulls his name out and wants to stay
- 24:06Speaker 4: here at LSU. To me, that shows the buy in
- 24:10Speaker 4: of everyone involved. You got Baker to stay. Baker turned
- 24:13Speaker 4: down a head coaching job. Charlie Wise Junior turned down
- 24:16Speaker 4: the same position, but in the NFL most people would
- 24:20Speaker 4: consider that a step up. Jake Olsen turned down the
- 24:22Speaker 4: same position, but in the NFL, all of them to
- 24:26Speaker 4: come back and work under Lane Kiffin because they all
- 24:31Speaker 4: going in the same direction.
- 24:32Speaker 5: They all believe in this goal.
- 24:33Speaker 4: He got Sam Levitt to leave and come back to
- 24:36Speaker 4: LSU after you let him leave this building without committee.
- 24:39Speaker 4: You landed not one, not two, but three quarterbacks who
- 24:42Speaker 4: probably could have went to all other programs and started.
- 24:44Speaker 4: But they have that much belief in Lane Kiffin and
- 24:46Speaker 4: what he's building here in Baton Rouge and this system
- 24:49Speaker 4: he is putting in place to take a chance and say, hey,
- 24:52Speaker 4: I'll push that down the road a little bit.
- 24:54Speaker 5: I'll kick that can down the road.
- 24:56Speaker 4: I'm gonna come in here and I'm gonna see what
- 24:58Speaker 4: we got here in Baton Rouge. And I think that's huge,
- 25:01Speaker 4: Like safety's coach, you know, safeties coach. Like some schools
- 25:04Speaker 4: don't even have a safety coach. Some schools will just
- 25:06Speaker 4: do the dB coach, like Corey Raymond did that here
- 25:08Speaker 4: for a while. Corey Raymond was not always just corners coach.
- 25:11Speaker 4: He was the dB coach. So you could say, okay,
- 25:14Speaker 4: well you didn't lose the safety coach, a great it's
- 25:17Speaker 4: always nice to have him back. You could replace him,
- 25:19Speaker 4: or even if you don't, Raymond could just be the
- 25:21Speaker 4: dB coach. But it's bigger than that. You've convinced multiple
- 25:25Speaker 4: people like Kayden Durham pulled his name out of the portal.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Harlan Barry announced he was coming back to school. That's
- 25:32Speaker 4: when losing your running backs coach Frank Wilson to an
- 25:34Speaker 4: SEC rival in Ole, miss. Both of those guys decided
- 25:38Speaker 4: to stay here at LSU. There were multiple guys that
- 25:41Speaker 4: put their names in the portal and came right back out.
- 25:45Speaker 5: I mean, I think like to me.
- 25:47Speaker 4: Kyle Parker was a big loss in the portal that
- 25:50Speaker 4: one hurt, and a Carrius Kern. You would have liked
- 25:53Speaker 4: to have kept both of them. Outside of those guys,
- 25:58Speaker 4: you didn't lose any of your big time players in
- 26:01Speaker 4: the transfer port and the ones that did enter came back.
- 26:05Speaker 4: I mean Treda's Green was one of the first people
- 26:07Speaker 4: to announced he was coming back. DJ Pickett coming back.
- 26:10Speaker 4: Like you had the cornerstone. You had the big name
- 26:13Speaker 4: pieces of this program all buy into Lane Kiffin, and
- 26:17Speaker 4: now the coaches are doing it as well. Whether it's
- 26:19Speaker 4: Blake Baker, whether it's Charlie Weis Junior, whether it's Jay Colson.
- 26:26Speaker 4: All of these guys have such a big buy in
- 26:28Speaker 4: because they believe in what Lane Kiffin is doing here
- 26:31Speaker 4: in Baton Rouge. You love to see it. As an
- 26:33Speaker 4: LSU fan, you gotta be excited because the guys in
- 26:36Speaker 4: that built again, the returning players, whether it's a Leavitt
- 26:40Speaker 4: or a land In Clerk or who's on Long Street
- 26:42Speaker 4: or now multiple coaches on this staff turning down positions
- 26:46Speaker 4: at other spots. And for like Blake Baker, that's a
- 26:47Speaker 4: step up. Charlie Wis Jr. Like you had a chance
- 26:50Speaker 4: to be an NFL offensive coordinate. Same with Jake Colson.
- 26:53Speaker 4: That's an NFL job. A lot of people would love
- 26:57Speaker 4: to have those jobs, all of them to return to
- 27:01Speaker 4: LSU for one reason or another. And I think it
- 27:03Speaker 4: all boils down to Lane Kiffin and what he's building
- 27:06Speaker 4: here in Beton Rouge. A. Right, we'll take a time out,
- 27:08Speaker 4: we get back. We just got a few more segments
- 27:10Speaker 4: left on this Tuesday. We'll talk a little Saints. We
- 27:12Speaker 4: got a new team joining the Mountain West. It's a
- 27:14Speaker 4: big time name that you're probably pretty familiar with if
- 27:17Speaker 4: you follow college football. And then we'll close it out
- 27:19Speaker 4: with ask the Bench. That's all coming up next here
- 27:21Speaker 4: on OTB Off the Bench, all.

- 29:52Speaker 8: dot Com.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Welcome back in Tuesday edition of OOTB We got about
- 29:57Speaker 4: two more segments left landra Bangers today. It reminds me
- 30:03Speaker 4: of like all these different eighties movie soundtracks. It's incredible
- 30:08Speaker 4: eighties Tuesday. You know what I was listening to the
- 30:10Speaker 4: other day of all bands Abba?
- 30:14Speaker 9: I mean, they're like having a resurgence.
- 30:17Speaker 5: Are they really? I didn't even know that though, I
- 30:19Speaker 5: don't know. I went to.
- 30:22Speaker 9: Chelsea's Yeah, just randomly, and I didn't know that it
- 30:26Speaker 9: was like a themed night or anything like that, and
- 30:29Speaker 9: it was like they were playing Abba basically, I think
- 30:33Speaker 9: it was like a disco or a seventies vend or something,
- 30:36Speaker 9: and they were playing Abba and like all the kids
- 30:38Speaker 9: knew all the words to it, and I was like,
- 30:41Speaker 9: where are y'all getting this from?
- 30:42Speaker 5: Right? Like, that doesn't seem like a band that gets
- 30:44Speaker 5: talked about a lot.
- 30:45Speaker 3: I guess Mama Mia.
- 30:47Speaker 4: So when I was younger, we wouldn't sell Mama Mia.
- 30:49Speaker 4: And then like you know, it was like, okay whatever,
- 30:52Speaker 4: And looking back on it, I'm like they had one
- 30:54Speaker 4: band of an entire movie just based off of their songs. Yeah,
- 30:57Speaker 4: like that that's pretty because it wasn't a biopics based
- 31:00Speaker 4: off Abba.
- 31:01Speaker 5: It's just I mean, that's pretty cool.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Like the other day, I was washing dishes and Victoria
- 31:06Speaker 4: witten home, so I was like, I'm putt my headphones
- 31:07Speaker 4: on and have some.
- 31:08Speaker 5: Some Abba come up. I listened to Abba for like
- 31:11Speaker 5: an hour.
- 31:12Speaker 4: I mean, you want to talk about some good songs
- 31:15Speaker 4: there with Abba, and like, what I like about them
- 31:17Speaker 4: is like every song's different, but they also have their
- 31:19Speaker 4: own unique sound. At the same time, great agreed and
- 31:23Speaker 4: listen to some more Abba. Okay, right now, I wanted
- 31:27Speaker 4: to bring this up for a little bit just hit
- 31:29Speaker 4: on this for just just a few minutes here. North
- 31:32Speaker 4: Dakota State football is going to join the Mountain West.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Now this is football only pretty much immediately. It's going
- 31:39Speaker 4: to take into effect July twenty twenty six, so they
- 31:42Speaker 4: will be in the Mountain West for the foreseeable future
- 31:46Speaker 4: in football only. And you know, a lot of people
- 31:48Speaker 4: look at this and be like, oh, yeah, okay, it's
- 31:50Speaker 4: a it's an FCS school moving up a level of competition.
- 31:54Speaker 5: We've seen it before, Like we've seen it the other
- 31:56Speaker 5: way too.
- 31:57Speaker 4: Idaho the Vandals, you know, they couldn't quite compete on
- 32:00Speaker 4: the FBS level.
- 32:01Speaker 5: They move down a level.
- 32:03Speaker 4: They're kind of an FCS power right now. So mean,
- 32:05Speaker 4: we've seen it the other way, but I mean a
- 32:07Speaker 4: lot of recent memory. James Madison's done this, Coastal Carolina,
- 32:10Speaker 4: did this, Missouri State, Delaware State, like there's been some
- 32:14Speaker 4: teams Sacramento State as in the process of doing that
- 32:17Speaker 4: as well. But North Dakota State moving up to me
- 32:19Speaker 4: is interesting. Like every time I look at North Dakota
- 32:22Speaker 4: State on someone's schedule, on like a big name program schedule,
- 32:25Speaker 4: like why are you scheduling North Dakota State Because they're
- 32:28Speaker 4: an absolute wagon, Like, don't schedule North Dakota State.
- 32:32Speaker 5: North Dakota State has.
- 32:34Speaker 4: Ten Division one national championships between twenty eleven and twenty
- 32:38Speaker 4: twenty five.
- 32:39Speaker 5: I mean that's a fourteen year period.
- 32:41Speaker 4: They had eight titles in a nine year period from
- 32:44Speaker 4: twenty eleven to twenty nineteen, and then they had another
- 32:46Speaker 4: in twenty twenty one another in twenty twenty four. This
- 32:50Speaker 4: is not your run of the mill program, like, oh,
- 32:54Speaker 4: you know they're gonna this is cute. They're gonna try
- 32:55Speaker 4: to move up a level of competition. The Mountain West
- 32:58Speaker 4: better watch out. I mean, because they've had sustained success
- 33:03Speaker 4: for a number of years. A number of their coaches
- 33:05Speaker 4: have gotten bigger jobs and they've they've still done this.
- 33:10Speaker 4: They've went to a turnstyle of coaches. Think about all
- 33:12Speaker 4: the quarterbacks that have come through there. Carson Wentz was
- 33:14Speaker 4: the number two pick out of North Dakota State, and
- 33:18Speaker 4: before he messed up his knee in Philadelphia, he probably
- 33:20Speaker 4: would have been the MVP of the NFL that year. Now,
- 33:24Speaker 4: he never quite rebounded properly from that from an injury.
- 33:27Speaker 4: But I mean, look, Carson Wentz has had a solid
- 33:29Speaker 4: NFL career, and he was a really good NFL starter
- 33:32Speaker 4: for a number of years. He comes out of North
- 33:34Speaker 4: Dakota State. Trey Lance, I mean, his NFL career hasn't
- 33:38Speaker 4: worked out like a lot of people thought it would.
- 33:39Speaker 4: But he was the number three pick. Yeah, he's bounced
- 33:42Speaker 4: around team to team, But I mean, forty nine ers
- 33:46Speaker 4: sold the farm to get Trey Lance. We always talk
- 33:48Speaker 4: about it saying, hey, they're lucky they hit on brock
- 33:51Speaker 4: Party in the seventh round because they gave up a
- 33:52Speaker 4: lot to move up to number three, and it was
- 33:54Speaker 4: specifically to take Trey Lance. Christian Watson with the Packers,
- 33:59Speaker 4: he was a second round pick. He's a really good
- 34:01Speaker 4: NFL receiver. He set some injury issues, but when he's
- 34:03Speaker 4: out there, he's as good as anybody on the field.
- 34:07Speaker 4: This is a program that you got to watch out for.
- 34:10Speaker 4: I mean, this is not your your run of the mill. Oh,
- 34:13Speaker 4: let me see if we can make something happen here
- 34:16Speaker 4: and try to move up. They're going to be They're
- 34:18Speaker 4: going to be a problem for the Mountain West, I think.
- 34:23Speaker 5: For a while.
- 34:24Speaker 4: I mean just this year at the Senior Bowl, Jacob
- 34:26Speaker 4: Matt interviewed Cole Payton he's one of the good performers
- 34:30Speaker 4: at quarterback. He's a North Dakota State guy. The Tama
- 34:33Speaker 4: Bay Buccaneers have Cody Mout starting on their offensive line.
- 34:36Speaker 4: North Dakota State guy. I mean, this is a school
- 34:39Speaker 4: that time and time again just continues to churn out
- 34:42Speaker 4: an fl talent. When you know, I heard a lot
- 34:44Speaker 4: of people when when Idaho moved down from FBFS to
- 34:48Speaker 4: FCS a few years back, everybody said, oh, this is
- 34:50Speaker 4: gonna be good for them. They can't compete in the FBS.
- 34:53Speaker 4: They're gonna be a lot stronger of a program.
- 34:55Speaker 5: I get it.
- 34:55Speaker 4: I think this is a great move for North Dakota
- 34:57Speaker 4: State and they're gonna get extra money out of this deal.
- 35:02Speaker 4: I mean, you know, it's not a power for conference,
- 35:04Speaker 4: but I mean the Mountain West has been around for
- 35:06Speaker 4: a long time for some good programs in the Mountain West,
- 35:11Speaker 4: and I think North Dakota State's gonna come in right
- 35:13Speaker 4: away and compete.
- 35:14Speaker 5: This is a team to look out for.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Like again, Sacramento States in the process of doing this
- 35:19Speaker 4: as well, moving up and they're gonna try to move
- 35:21Speaker 4: up in football first, but they hope to have multiple
- 35:24Speaker 4: sports move up. North Dakota State. They're ready to go
- 35:27Speaker 4: right now. I mean up in Fargo, they love this team.
- 35:31Speaker 4: You've ever seen a game inside the Fargo Dome on TV.
- 35:34Speaker 4: I've obviously never been in person, but that place is rocky.
- 35:37Speaker 4: That's one of the toughest places to play. I mean,
- 35:39Speaker 4: I remember when I was at Southeastern in a really
- 35:42Speaker 4: good year. One season they make it to the postseason.
- 35:45Speaker 4: Everybody's like, Okay, all roads, all roads leads to the
- 35:47Speaker 4: Fargo Dome.
- 35:48Speaker 5: Get ready.
- 35:49Speaker 4: If you want to make the National Championship, you got
- 35:50Speaker 4: to go through the Fargo Dome. And I mean they've
- 35:53Speaker 4: been the gold standard on that level of ball for
- 35:55Speaker 4: quite some time now. I mean schools have caught up
- 35:57Speaker 4: to him, like Montana, Montana State in Illinois State like
- 36:01Speaker 4: teams have caught up to them. But I think this
- 36:04Speaker 4: is a huge move for the Mountain West because despite
- 36:07Speaker 4: the fact that their FCS, that's a huge brand that
- 36:09Speaker 4: everybody knows about. You have a lot of big time
- 36:12Speaker 4: NFL players that have went through that school. I think
- 36:15Speaker 4: that is a big time move for the Mountain West.
- 36:17Speaker 4: We'll see how they compete, how long it takes them
- 36:20Speaker 4: to adjust. Again, I kind of think it's gonna happen
- 36:24Speaker 4: right away. But I mean, I am really excited to
- 36:27Speaker 4: see what North Dakota State can do in the Mountain West.
- 36:30Speaker 4: Remember they played Colorado opening game of the year two
- 36:34Speaker 4: years ago, and I mean there were people picking Colorado,
- 36:37Speaker 4: I mean Northdakota State to win that game, and they.
- 36:39Speaker 5: Almost did, and probably should have. Colorado came back.
- 36:42Speaker 4: They won that game. I think it was about a
- 36:43Speaker 4: four or five point win, kind of a come from
- 36:45Speaker 4: behind winning overtime. But North Dakota State had them on
- 36:48Speaker 4: the ropes. They beating a number of big time programs.
- 36:50Speaker 4: This is a big time get for the Mountain West,
- 36:53Speaker 4: and I think North Dakota State is a team to
- 36:55Speaker 4: keep an eye on coming up here in the near future.
- 36:58Speaker 4: All Right, we'll take a time out. We'll close this
- 37:00Speaker 4: thing out like we do every day. Get your questions
- 37:02Speaker 4: in the chat. We got asked the bench. Coming up
- 37:04Speaker 4: next here on o TV Off.
- 37:06Speaker 1: The Bench Tigers Turn Talkers. This is Off the Bench.
- 37:23Speaker 5: Welcome back.
- 37:24Speaker 4: In final segment here on a Tuesday edition of OTB.
- 37:27Speaker 4: Taylor Sharp sitting in for Jacob Pastor and Matt Flynn.
- 37:31Speaker 4: We'll close up today like we do every day. A
- 37:33Speaker 4: little bit of ask the bench. First one here, ask
- 37:37Speaker 4: the bench, favorite Marty Girl throw to catch?
- 37:41Speaker 5: First off? Wondro w what'd you catch at Spanish tap?
- 37:45Speaker 9: Mostly just beads. That one jello shot that I took
- 37:49Speaker 9: from the float. Let this man just inject one into
- 37:52Speaker 9: my mouth. I don't know why I did that. I
- 37:55Speaker 9: got some cups, but they were mostly just beats.
- 38:00Speaker 5: I like the light up beads, and they got like
- 38:01Speaker 5: the little like the mortar girl hat or something. Yeah,
- 38:05Speaker 5: I like those.
- 38:07Speaker 6: I wish I went to the one this last weekend finish.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the one where Drew Brees was.
- 38:12Speaker 5: Oh he was?
- 38:16Speaker 9: It seemed like there was it No never mind because
- 38:19Speaker 9: Lane was in Demian.
- 38:21Speaker 5: Speaking of leads us right to the next one. Ask
- 38:24Speaker 5: the bench. Would you rather be on a float with
- 38:26Speaker 5: Drew Brees or Lane Kiffin?
- 38:27Speaker 6: Drew Brees, Lane Kiffin sober, Yeah, I mean Drew Brees
- 38:31Speaker 6: is now orland like in.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Case, I'm gonna go a little That's true. So like
- 38:36Speaker 4: for me, like a lot of Saints fan, I'm not
- 38:39Speaker 4: I'm gonna go Lane Kiff because I'm a lot bigger
- 38:41Speaker 4: LSU fan than i am a Saints fan.
- 38:43Speaker 5: So like like would I pester Lane Kiffing a lot more?
- 38:45Speaker 4: Yeah, probably, he'd probably want to get rid of me
- 38:48Speaker 4: by about ten minutes. But uh yeah, No, I'm picking
- 38:50Speaker 4: Lane Kiffin just because I mean, my l shoe ties
- 38:53Speaker 4: are a lot bigger than my Saints on just like chunking,
- 38:56Speaker 4: Like that's somebody. I want to be on the parade
- 38:59Speaker 4: float with Tyler Shuck.
- 39:00Speaker 5: You kidding me? You see him walking?
- 39:02Speaker 4: He was so before that parade, Like I know, the
- 39:04Speaker 4: video went went viral of him chucking the beads of people,
- 39:08Speaker 4: but before that, he was just walking down the street
- 39:11Speaker 4: with everybody else, carrying a case of a beer in
- 39:14Speaker 4: one hand and a King Cake in the like are
- 39:16Speaker 4: you kidding me? From Derek Carr saying his favorite restaurant
- 39:20Speaker 4: in New Orleans with Chipotle to Tyler Shuck rocking the
- 39:23Speaker 4: King Cake, carried a case of beer and pelted people
- 39:25Speaker 4: with beads like you want to talk about a one
- 39:27Speaker 4: eighty and like you could see it, like the vibes
- 39:29Speaker 4: are so much higher.
- 39:31Speaker 5: New Orleans, right, depend on that?
- 39:33Speaker 4: That's my answer. I'm taking an option three. I'm going
- 39:34Speaker 4: Tyler Shuck. I want to be on a I want
- 39:36Speaker 4: to be on a parade float with Tyler Shuck. Ask
- 39:43Speaker 4: the bitch, what is wrong with a closet nursery? Guys,
- 39:47Speaker 4: it's not big enough.
- 39:48Speaker 9: Do you really need that much space for a baby?
- 39:51Speaker 4: Well, what's the whole like dresser next to it with
- 39:55Speaker 4: the changing table on top. Yeah, and then so I mean,
- 39:58Speaker 4: like a lot of these things coming sets, like it's
- 40:01Speaker 4: not just a crib. You would think it's just a crib.
- 40:03Speaker 4: It probably should be just a crib, it's not. Most
- 40:05Speaker 4: of these are going to come in sets where it's
- 40:06Speaker 4: like a crib. You got a dresser with a built
- 40:09Speaker 4: in changing table on top, and then a second dresser
- 40:12Speaker 4: on the other side, Like it's a decent sized closet.
- 40:16Speaker 4: You know, I don't think all blank Space Razor Sharp's
- 40:20Speaker 4: gonna be able to uh to make that.
- 40:22Speaker 5: Happen after me.
- 40:23Speaker 4: Yeah, there you go. His first name would be blank space.
- 40:26Speaker 9: Your middle name is uh is okay, So you know
- 40:30Speaker 9: what I was thinking about. I forgot to mention this.
- 40:33Speaker 9: So I listened to I watched the game on TV
- 40:37Speaker 9: on or yesterday, right the base the baseball game. So
- 40:40Speaker 9: I got to listen to Ben and Lynn on the call,
- 40:43Speaker 9: and I texted y'all yesterday, and I was like, what
- 40:45Speaker 9: are Ben and Lynn even talking about? Is this how
- 40:47Speaker 9: people feel listening to OTV? Like I didn't hate it,
- 40:50Speaker 9: but I was like, is this how people feel when
- 40:53Speaker 9: they listened to us?
- 40:54Speaker 5: That was the tripod? Was the tri sure?
- 40:57Speaker 9: And then also he said, wait what did he say they? Lynn?
- 41:02Speaker 9: I think it was whenever Mylam threw to first and
- 41:07Speaker 9: York had that pick, he was like, that place needs
- 41:11Speaker 9: to go straight to Broadway. And I was like, that's elite.
- 41:14Speaker 9: I hadn't heard that one before from Lynn, but that's
- 41:17Speaker 9: a great one.
- 41:18Speaker 5: Lynn like has so many sayings and he and he
- 41:22Speaker 5: very rarely repeats the sayings like he's got to roll again,
- 41:26Speaker 5: set to pucker up.
- 41:27Speaker 4: He does puck her up every run, but that's also
- 41:30Speaker 4: kind of becomes his signature now, I kind of.
- 41:32Speaker 5: Over pucker up.
- 41:36Speaker 9: Is oversaturate?
- 41:38Speaker 5: Saturate the pucker up? You can't.
- 41:40Speaker 4: We had this, Me and Braxent had this conversation right
- 41:42Speaker 4: before the show. Not a Rollins guy.
- 41:46Speaker 9: I like Lynn Rollins like Liz.
- 41:49Speaker 5: I get it.
- 41:50Speaker 4: I get that, I get the bucker up thing. But
- 41:52Speaker 4: there's so many sayings like I'm trying to remember. I
- 41:53Speaker 4: think it was it was either Bo or Bryce. I
- 41:56Speaker 4: think it was Bryce and Jordan that that took all
- 41:58Speaker 4: the hits they hit by pitches back when you could
- 42:01Speaker 4: still lean into him. I think he like set the
- 42:03Speaker 4: NCAA single season record or something like that. And uh,
- 42:07Speaker 4: he got hit, didn't even flinch, went down to first base,
- 42:10Speaker 4: and Lynn Rolin said, he's as tough as a green
- 42:12Speaker 4: pine cone.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Some of it doesn't make sense.
- 42:14Speaker 5: Well, no, that one's that one's perfect. That fine because
- 42:17Speaker 5: you stop and thinking.
- 42:17Speaker 4: You're like, yeah, you ever pick up a green pine cone?
- 42:19Speaker 4: Do you realize how hard a green pine coon is?
- 42:22Speaker 4: Like that's perfect because like he gives good ones, but
- 42:25Speaker 4: they're also like kind of thought provoking, Like.
- 42:28Speaker 6: You heard the one about Jake Brown when he got hot,
- 42:31Speaker 6: like hit his second home run.
- 42:33Speaker 9: Wait, no, what was it?
- 42:34Speaker 6: I think was like he hit the second home run
- 42:37Speaker 6: and Lynn was said, uh, he's hotter than a fire
- 42:40Speaker 6: on a ever blister.
- 42:43Speaker 5: Bro, that's elite, I know, but I like.
- 42:47Speaker 9: Right hot. And this one's so obvious, like that play
- 42:50Speaker 9: needs to go straight to Broadway. That's obvious. But I
- 42:53Speaker 9: never thought to say that he's got too.
- 42:55Speaker 5: Much time during the Dude, they're so good.
- 43:00Speaker 4: I mean what's the what's the one used to bring
- 43:02Speaker 4: up the blue stars? The color of like something gatorade? Yeah,
- 43:06Speaker 4: the blue geacier glacier gatorade?
- 43:09Speaker 3: Is that new?
- 43:10Speaker 6: When he comes up with like a different like colors
- 43:12Speaker 6: of the sky like before, like when the game starts,
- 43:15Speaker 6: that's what That's what we're talking about, or that always
- 43:17Speaker 6: been a thing.
- 43:18Speaker 5: He's still a few times. Yeah, he's he's done that
- 43:21Speaker 5: a few times. I think Len's of treasure. I mean,
- 43:26Speaker 5: so I was listening.
- 43:27Speaker 9: To are we talking about the vernal equinox yesterday?
- 43:29Speaker 5: I was wondering, and I was like, this is so.
- 43:32Speaker 9: O t B coded. I'm like, this is how people
- 43:34Speaker 9: feel when they listen to us. Like that was fine.
- 43:38Speaker 9: I didn't care. I thought it was funny. But I'm like,
- 43:40Speaker 9: what are they even talking about right now?
- 43:42Speaker 4: You want to get Flynn locked into l SU Baseball,
- 43:45Speaker 4: Give him that broadcast, Matt Flynn be all over that.
- 43:48Speaker 4: Like I was listening to the radio call uh yesterday
- 43:51Speaker 4: evening because I was out and about. But yeah, I
- 43:53Speaker 4: called I called Lynn game three, uh most of the game.
- 44:01Speaker 4: Game three is the one that I called him the most,
- 44:03Speaker 4: and I mean just incredible stuff, like him and Ben
- 44:05Speaker 4: are great together because like Ben's normally like, you know,
- 44:09Speaker 4: to the point analytical guy, but Lynn brings out the
- 44:12Speaker 4: personality and Ben as well, like Ben's Ben is really
- 44:16Speaker 4: really good. Here's an ask the bench question. Are you
- 44:22Speaker 4: a neutral ground or sidewalk person? I'm assuming you mean
- 44:25Speaker 4: where you stand for the parade. I'm sidewalk. I'm not
- 44:29Speaker 4: big on the neutral ground because you got a cross
- 44:32Speaker 4: to get there and back. I'll park on the same
- 44:34Speaker 4: side of the road as I am on the sidewalk
- 44:36Speaker 4: a lot easier in and out. Again, this is coming
- 44:40Speaker 4: from someone who's not a parade person. So as much
- 44:42Speaker 4: convenience as I could possibly get, That's what I'm going
- 44:45Speaker 4: to go with. And I went to a Christmas parade
- 44:48Speaker 4: out in Denim back in December. But I'm done Marty
- 44:54Speaker 4: Girl parade in a number of years. Guys, kindcakes are
- 44:57Speaker 4: about to go away. I think today is the last day?
- 45:00Speaker 1: Is it?
- 45:00Speaker 5: I'm gonna have to go pick one off. But still,
- 45:03Speaker 5: you know, like Victoria's not big into.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Sweets right now, what's your favorite?
- 45:07Speaker 5: Just strawberry cream cheese.
- 45:08Speaker 4: As far as the filling, like I gotta have some filling,
- 45:10Speaker 4: like I have this This really really. It's apparently hot
- 45:14Speaker 4: take because most people I know love the plain cinnamon.
- 45:17Speaker 4: I think if you eat a plain cinnamon kancake, like
- 45:19Speaker 4: you just like a crappy cinnamon.
- 45:21Speaker 6: Roll, you've had a banana quiddon, dude.
- 45:24Speaker 4: I've had pretty much all of them, but I like
- 45:26Speaker 4: the I like the strawberry cream cheese, so like still
- 45:29Speaker 4: a traditional but not too basic to wear. It's just
- 45:32Speaker 4: a dry and there's no filling, like all the same
- 45:35Speaker 4: people who are like I just like the cinnamon unfilled.
- 45:37Speaker 5: That's all fuugh take. You gotta have a filling in
- 45:40Speaker 5: the middle. Strawberry cream cheese is elite.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Some of them are, but that's why you get the strawberry.
- 45:45Speaker 4: It's got a little bit of the fruit flavor, sweetness.
- 45:47Speaker 3: With the cream cheesecake.
- 45:49Speaker 5: See, I'm out on the show.
- 45:50Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 45:51Speaker 6: I haven't tried.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Heard a lot of hype about it.
- 45:52Speaker 4: Can be it can't be too fruity. That's why I
- 45:54Speaker 4: go the strawberry crea cheese. All right, guys, that's pretty
- 45:56Speaker 4: much gonna do it. For a Tuesday edition of O
- 45:59Speaker 4: T B we Recap LSU Baseball. Nick Underhill of New
- 46:02Speaker 4: Orleans Dot Football just a few minutes ago, hopped on
- 46:05Speaker 4: talk all things New Orleans Saints. They got some veteran contracts,
- 46:08Speaker 4: they're gonna have to work on it. And then Patrick
- 46:09Speaker 4: Ryde more So your LSU Lady Tigers came on to
- 46:11Speaker 4: recap LSU baseball and the big time game between LSU
- 46:14Speaker 4: versus South Carolina that occurred last Saturday. We're back, same time,
- 46:18Speaker 4: same place tomorrow, Stay soon more OTB tomorrow, Doster.
