- 0:00How are things on this fine Tuesday morning, Sir?
- 0:03Very good. I guess there's not going to be
- 0:05a resumption of hostilities. Well, Trump is in China.
- 0:09He's leaving this morning. So few days, few days of not not
- 0:14having to wonder about what you're going to wake up to in
- 0:17the morning and after sleeping through the night, you know?
- 0:21Suppose not. I did hear about a gas tax
- 0:23holiday though. What do you think about that?
- 0:24Howie Carr. That would be great.
- 0:27I mean, it's, you know, again, it's there won't be, there won't
- 0:30be any gas tax holidays in Maine or Massachusetts or any of the
- 0:34blue states, although, you know, Ned Lamont has talked about it
- 0:38in Connecticut. But oh, they're all these,
- 0:41they're all these structural problems for, you know, somehow
- 0:44there's never a structural problem when they want to raise
- 0:47taxes, right? They're always able to find a
- 0:51workaround, but when it comes to cutting taxes, that's it's a
- 0:54problem that's too much. Yeah, I can't do that.
- 0:57No, for sure. It is kind of funny.
- 0:58I was watching the, I was watching the news like a couple
- 1:01days ago or whatever, just talking about the gas prices
- 1:03everywhere else. And obviously they're not great.
- 1:04But to see the difference between what I paid when I was
- 1:07complaining about it the other day and what California pays.
- 1:10I mean, it pretty much all is gas taxes.
- 1:12I mean, you're talking about 3-4 dollars worth, you know, per
- 1:15gallon. It's kind of ridiculous at this
- 1:17point. Yeah, or, or regulations.
- 1:19I mean, Spencer proud, I thought there was a good line in the
- 1:21debate there was it? No, Steve Hilton the other night
- 1:23when the gubernatorial debate, he said, look, Trump is a
- 1:27president of all 50 States and we're the only ones that have
- 1:30have gas prices $2.00 higher than the other 49 states.
- 1:34How is that Trump's fault? And of course it isn't that.
- 1:37That's why they don't want to, That's why they don't want to
- 1:39debate the the issue. It's just, it's ridiculous.
- 1:42They used to have what, 40 refineries in California and now
- 1:45they're down to a handful and some of them are trying to get
- 1:48out. It's so, it's so bad.
- 1:50And you know, people, people are going crazy.
- 1:52I don't blame them, you know, especially if you got a long
- 1:54commute. But you know, about the prices
- 1:57and they're saying, you know, if we're the biggest, if we're the
- 1:59biggest producer in the world, if we're the biggest exporter,
- 2:02why, why, why, why are we having these gas prices?
- 2:06Well, you know, you know the answer.
- 2:08I mean, we, we don't have enough refining capacity.
- 2:11You know, it's to say, yeah, Iran has the same problem in it
- 2:14for the same reason, ideological problems.
- 2:17You know, they they haven't play Iran and the US haven't let the
- 2:21free market operate to produce the refineries that we need to
- 2:24put to, you know, distill the the oil into gasoline.
- 2:29And it's I don't know. I mean, you know, I've been
- 2:32thinking more and more that how it the Democrats seem to have a
- 2:37lot in common with the IRDC, don't they?
- 2:42There's a couple full philosophies that crossover on
- 2:44the Venn diagram. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely
- 2:47they do. I don't know how as you consider
- 2:50Iran, what do you think is ultimately going to happen
- 2:52there? I'm kind of sick of asking about
- 2:54it, but it's it's still out there.
- 2:56And I, you know, I we look at these midterm elections coming
- 2:58up and what not. I'm just curious about when it
- 3:01ends and what that looks like. And I know we still have plenty
- 3:04of time left here, but I know that people also don't like
- 3:07paying that extra gas price. So do you think that he is
- 3:11feeling some kind of pressure to actually draw this to some kind
- 3:14of conclusion or is it just? He's got a pressure, but it's
- 3:17nothing like the pressure they have, you know, I mean, I, I
- 3:20think they just, you know, every, they're just looking.
- 3:23I think a lot of them are just looking for ways to get money
- 3:25out of the country and just figuring out how they're going
- 3:28to survive as the bombing starts again.
- 3:30Could you, you know that Mossad and CIA have been, you know,
- 3:33just drawing up diagrams just to take out this, this next group
- 3:37of these people? I, I don't know, I mean, I
- 3:40don't, I don't, I don't think it can go on that much longer,
- 3:43especially if they get they get really seriously hit.
- 3:47I mean, I think because I think they did a lot of damage last
- 3:50last week with a what he, what did he call it a love tap?
- 3:53The Love Tap Yes. They took out, you know,
- 3:56hundreds of those, those boats. I mean, those those boats are
- 3:59like, you know, and again, looking back for historical
- 4:03precedents, I mean, those boats, the way they're operating,
- 4:06they're like kamikazes. And The thing is, the kamikazes,
- 4:09you know, on rare occasions got through and heard a boat.
- 4:12I mean, there's so far they so far these boats have done
- 4:15nothing. It's just, they're just suicide
- 4:17missions against, against the Americans And I and you know,
- 4:22would you be going out with one of those boats?
- 4:24No, but we're logical people. I mean, like, that's one of the
- 4:27things about this conflict, which is to me sort of stood
- 4:30out, is that it's it would have been rational for this to end
- 4:33and for them to surrender and give up and try to preserve
- 4:36their regime and whatever like a month ago.
- 4:39You know what I mean? Like, they don't seem to me to
- 4:43be, like, thinking rationally about any of their calculus
- 4:46about any of this. I mean, what is that nuclear
- 4:48program worth to you? Honestly, if you're Iran at this
- 4:51point, clearly no one in the world wants you to have it, even
- 4:54if you got it. I mean, like, what are you gonna
- 4:55do with it? Like, what is the point of this
- 4:58anymore? Like, preserve your power,
- 5:00preserve your regime. Just cut the crap and just get
- 5:03out. But they are not doing that
- 5:04firing. Missiles at UAE, Yeah.
- 5:07No, exactly. They have a military and now
- 5:09they're and now they're hey, hey, UAE is not about to fight a
- 5:12ceasefire. You know, let's go and bomb a
- 5:15couple of their refineries. And they have, I mean, why would
- 5:19you go out of your way to make an enemy out of everybody and
- 5:23every neighbor you have? You're right.
- 5:25It's it's insanity. Yeah.
- 5:27So I don't have a good explanation for it, but I
- 5:29suppose we'll see where it goes. I'll probably ask you about it
- 5:30for the next 17 weeks. So we'll see how are you, I'm
- 5:34sure that you saw the Supreme Court on Monday basically gave
- 5:38the green light to the Alabama redistricting stuff, which is,
- 5:41you know, in the wake of the Louisiana decision and
- 5:43everything else. I've been talking about this for
- 5:44basically two weeks now. But it's just amazing to me what
- 5:48an what a poorly thought through fight to pick this was for the
- 5:53Democrats. They just didn't have they never
- 5:55had enough tools in the toolbox to make this smart for them.
- 5:58They were always going to lose seats and now they're really
- 6:01losing seats and might imperil any opportunity for them to take
- 6:04back the the majorities. I, I know, and, and you know,
- 6:07the other thing is too, that some of the, some of the, the
- 6:10gerrymandering that's, that's going on up here, like for
- 6:13instance, New England, I mean, nobody was paying attention to
- 6:15the fact that, you know, the six New England states, 21 members
- 6:19of Congress, not a single Republican, even though 40% of
- 6:22the population votes for Trump. I mean, nobody knew about that
- 6:25outside outside of a handful of people like us.
- 6:28You know, they didn't know that Illinois votes 3540% for for
- 6:34Trump and has 11% Republicans. I mean, The thing is that
- 6:38Democrats say we're going to gerrymander just like the
- 6:40Republicans. Wait a second, You already have.
- 6:43Yeah. Where are you?
- 6:44Where are you going to gerrymander further?
- 6:46I mean, that's that's that was the whole thing about the
- 6:48Virginia overreach. And now I love the fact that
- 6:50they're going to the Supreme Court.
- 6:52Remember, versus Pennsylvania, you know, there was a case,
- 6:56there was a case that cried out to be addressed.
- 6:59There was voter fraud. There were there were multiple
- 7:02violations of the law in Pennsylvania.
- 7:05I mean, just overriding state statutes, the statutes to put
- 7:09the, to put more of these, you know, fraudulent voters on the,
- 7:13on the blocks. And, and the, the Supreme Court
- 7:16said Texas has no standing to go in because it's all, it's all,
- 7:19it's all a state elections are state law.
- 7:23So everyone said, oh, this was brilliant jurisprudence.
- 7:27This is what America is all about making this decision.
- 7:30So, so now the decision has gone the other way.
- 7:33And they they, they asked the Supreme Court to totally flip
- 7:35everything on its head. Yeah, of course.
- 7:38The Supreme Court must intervene, even though it's a
- 7:40totally a state issue. And then they they're the
- 7:43defenders of democracy. They want to get rid of two,
- 7:47five of those seven members of the Supreme Court in Virginia.
- 7:51Two of them are black. One is the first black woman.
- 7:54They're going to fire black people who didn't do anything
- 7:58wrong so that they can help out these white losers who are going
- 8:02to get lost 2, three times in, in congressional races in
- 8:06legitimate districts so they can get elected.
- 8:10I mean, it's, it's just, it's just insane.
- 8:13And and again, they're being cheered on by, by by the regime
- 8:18controlled media. Oh, this is what democracy looks
- 8:22like, right? You know, we must destroy
- 8:24democracy in order to save it. How is this different from the
- 8:28from burning down the village in Vietnam?
- 8:30Years ago. Of course it is not.
- 8:32Of course it is. You know, Howie, I saw something
- 8:33I think 2 days ago, maybe one or two days ago, that was somebody
- 8:37had done a study on sort of like what like fair redistricting
- 8:41would look like across the country.
- 8:42Like if you just did what the Constitution says, like compact
- 8:45districts, you know, make everything a square, basically.
- 8:47Do you know what the actual orientation of Congress would be
- 8:49right now? It was like 246 Republicans
- 8:53right now. Like, you know, it's like, it's
- 8:55a net gain of like 30 compared to what we have or 20 compared
- 8:58to what we have right now. You know, that's, that's what's,
- 9:02that's the, the, you know, when you get back to the beginning of
- 9:04all this and stuff like that, everybody says it's Texas's
- 9:06fault or whatever. But like, why do you think the
- 9:08Democrats had 40 years of uncontested control in the
- 9:12latter half of the 20th century? Like there was, there was 3
- 9:15elections where massive landslides happened.
- 9:19You had Nixon in 72, you had Reagan in 80, and you had Reagan
- 9:21in 84. You know what?
- 9:22You want to know what the average number of Democrats that
- 9:24won in Congress was for those 3 elections where Nixon won 60% of
- 9:29the vote in 49 States and Reagan won 49 and 84?
- 9:32It was like 250. It's like 250 Democrats in years
- 9:35where everyone voted for a Republican.
- 9:38That's how bad the gerrymandering has been for the
- 9:41course of 100 years. So I really don't, you know,
- 9:44like, I don't like this either, but like, I don't want to hear
- 9:46you whine about it at this point.
- 9:48Like, turnabout's fair play. So be quiet.
- 9:51That's right. And then they and then Hakeem
- 9:53Jeffries, I mean, he really is dumb.
- 9:55I mean, I thought maybe, you know, Trump was overstating the
- 9:59low, low IQ Hakeem. But every day he goes out there
- 10:02and just says these crazier things.
- 10:04I mean, again, he sounds like, you know, one of the commanders
- 10:08of the IRDC. You know, we will fight that.
- 10:12We will show them weapons they have never seen before.
- 10:18He's he's a dramatic guy and he is pretty.
- 10:20He's doing the, he's doing the Joe Namath thing too.
- 10:23He's like, I will win, I guarantee.
- 10:25Well, not so sure about that. With these redistricting plants
- 10:28that are happening right now. I think you're going to have a
- 10:30tough go of it, Hakeem. We'll see.
