- 1:30Speaker 1: I'm your host, Rachel Yucatel, and I'm with Kelly Brink
- 1:33Speaker 1: for our Happy Hour Fridays. Hi, Kelly.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Hi. No happy hour for me today. I'm drinking water. Yes.
- 1:40Speaker 2: You want to know why?
- 1:41Speaker 3: Why?
- 1:41Speaker 1: Tell me.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Because I'm hungover as fuck.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Oh, my goodness.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Okay, well, I can't- We'll get into that later.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't wait to hear that story. So, first
- 1:50Speaker 1: of all, I just wanted to give a shout out
- 1:52Speaker 1: to my daughter because today, this morning, she graduated from-
- 1:56Speaker 1: lower school. And it's a big deal for all the
- 2:03Speaker 1: kids for celebrating 2023 and finishing lower school. We all
- 2:08Speaker 1: got nervous that they would not know how to read
- 2:11Speaker 1: or count because of COVID. And so finally she graduated.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I'm very excited. And then she will be moving with
- 2:17Speaker 1: me to Palm Beach, Florida for school next year. And
- 2:21Speaker 1: I think she's really excited. So I just wanted to say,
- 2:24Speaker 1: I'm really proud of her and all her friends and
- 2:26Speaker 1: her grade in Manhattan. They worked really hard and they, um,
- 2:30Speaker 1: looked beautiful at the ceremony today. I couldn't be there
- 2:32Speaker 1: cause I'm in Florida, but, um, I watched it live
- 2:35Speaker 1: streamed on their school, um, feed and it was super
- 2:39Speaker 1: cute and I'm just really proud of her. So congratulations,
- 2:41Speaker 1: Wyatt and Reese and Olivia and Charlotte and Liv and Sloan,
- 2:48Speaker 1: all her little friends. So I'm really proud of them.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Congratulations, Wyatt.
- 2:53Speaker 1: So I wanted to start off by talking about some
- 2:57Speaker 1: of the news that is out today that is so, well,
- 3:00Speaker 1: not today, but all week that has been consuming me
- 3:03Speaker 1: because I feel like I haven't slept in the last
- 3:06Speaker 1: like at least two nights, but maybe more because I
- 3:09Speaker 1: wake up in the middle of the night and I'm
- 3:11Speaker 1: constantly looking at my phone to see if there's an
- 3:14Speaker 1: update on what's going on with this submersible, the Titan, who's,
- 3:20Speaker 1: you know, has five passengers on it. And it's so interesting.
- 3:22Speaker 1: It's like, I can't remember the last time that the
- 3:25Speaker 1: world sort of rallied and was paying attention to what
- 3:29Speaker 1: happened to five people. Do you know what I mean? Like,
- 3:31Speaker 1: I know there's a lot of tragedies and crisis and whatever,
- 3:34Speaker 1: but usually it's related to something much bigger. I mean,
- 3:38Speaker 1: it surrounds five people that they've sent so many, you know,
- 3:43Speaker 1: rescue missions out to get them because, you know, we're
- 3:47Speaker 1: under time constraints. I think to, you know, we're filming
- 3:50Speaker 1: this on Thursday. It's going to air Friday. But as
- 3:53Speaker 1: of today, in about an hour from now hits their
- 3:56Speaker 1: 96 hour mark where they are going to run out
- 3:59Speaker 1: of oxygen. I know that all those times are approximate,
- 4:03Speaker 1: but you know, it's, you know, a looming time that
- 4:08Speaker 1: we all have today at noon. And I just, I
- 4:10Speaker 1: keep hoping that there will be some sort of miracle
- 4:13Speaker 1: because miracles do happen, but it seems very dire and
- 4:18Speaker 1: upsetting and it's like so hard to to imagine what
- 4:21Speaker 1: these guys are going through. So like I'll be sleeping
- 4:24Speaker 1: at night and I'll wake up and I'll look at
- 4:25Speaker 1: the news and see what's going on. And then think
- 4:28Speaker 1: about how awful that would be, you know, to be
- 4:32Speaker 1: in that predicament. I mean, what are your thoughts?
- 4:35Speaker 2: Oh, I mean, yeah. Like you said, you normally don't
- 4:37Speaker 2: see the whole world rallying around five people. You see
- 4:41Speaker 2: that in natural disasters, earthquakes, tsunamis, things like that. But
- 4:46Speaker 2: this is five people rallying everyone's thoughts and hopes and
- 4:49Speaker 2: prayers and everything are with these five people. But there's
- 4:53Speaker 2: also been a lot of really negative stuff on the internet,
- 4:57Speaker 2: a lot of like really negative comments, a lot of
- 5:00Speaker 2: backlash that I've been seeing, which is horrible. Like people
- 5:03Speaker 2: saying things like, I don't care about five billionaires, you know,
- 5:08Speaker 2: they deserve to die for making such a stupid decision,
- 5:11Speaker 2: things like that. I mean, so terrible. And first of all,
- 5:16Speaker 2: anyone saying that obviously couldn't afford a fun adventure like that. So,
- 5:21Speaker 2: you know, if it's in your price point, you know,
- 5:24Speaker 2: you want to go see the world and explore everything.
- 5:27Speaker 2: So that's just crazy. Those comments. And then there's a
- 5:31Speaker 2: lot of people kind of making light of the situation too,
- 5:34Speaker 2: because it's just kind of so surreal. So people are
- 5:36Speaker 2: kind of joking around about it. I think at first
- 5:39Speaker 2: people thought they were going to rescue them. Like they
- 5:42Speaker 2: were going to find them, bring them back and everything
- 5:45Speaker 2: was going to be okay. But like you said, it's
- 5:47Speaker 2: looking really grim right now, but- I saw you commented.
- 5:52Speaker 2: So Barstool Sports, KFC Barstool, Kevin Clancy from Barstool Sports.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I love him.
- 5:58Speaker 2: He's so funny.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I know.
- 5:59Speaker 2: He's great. So he's been posting about the Titan all week.
- 6:05Speaker 2: His posts have been really good. There's been a little
- 6:07Speaker 2: bit of humor in it, though. But I saw that
- 6:10Speaker 2: you made a comment. One of your big concerns is
- 6:14Speaker 2: how are these people going to the bathroom in this submersible?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, well. It's so crazy because I ended up like
- 6:21Speaker 1: Googling it because I was really stressed out about it.
- 6:24Speaker 1: But this was like on day one, right, that we
- 6:26Speaker 1: heard that. That was like one of my first questions.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And it's funny because as of this morning, it has
- 6:31Speaker 1: like almost 14,000 likes and 200 comments. And most of
- 6:36Speaker 1: the comments are like, oh my God, that's what I
- 6:37Speaker 1: was wondering too. But since I, you know, I commented
- 6:41Speaker 1: about that, I've actually seen that they've posted or added
- 6:44Speaker 1: to the stories, you know, real journalists are saying that
- 6:47Speaker 1: they found out that there is a small type of bathroom.
- 6:53Speaker 1: It's not really a bathroom, but a place you can
- 6:54Speaker 1: go to the bathroom. And I think it's similar to
- 6:57Speaker 1: what they call heads, you know, on boats and they
- 6:59Speaker 1: can just like go in something. But like I was,
- 7:01Speaker 1: that would make me so anxious, you know, and. Also,
- 7:05Speaker 1: like how cold it is down there and how dark
- 7:10Speaker 1: and out of sorts you are with what's going on. So,
- 7:15Speaker 1: you know, who knows if something really awful happened two
- 7:19Speaker 1: hours in or an hour and 45 minutes into their
- 7:21Speaker 1: journey and they died right then and there, or if
- 7:24Speaker 1: they're still holding on and hoping they'll be rescued because
- 7:27Speaker 1: they have no other options. It's just so terrible.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I've been feeling very claustrophobic this week too, hearing
- 7:34Speaker 2: this story. So I was reading a lot about it too.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And it's not, there are, okay, so there's a few possibilities,
- 7:40Speaker 2: they say, of what could have happened. They may just
- 7:42Speaker 2: be at the bottom of the ocean floor, 13,000 feet below.
- 7:46Speaker 2: It may have imploded. It may have blown up, but
- 7:50Speaker 2: they're not seeing any debris. So they really don't think
- 7:53Speaker 2: that happened. Obviously, everybody's heard about the tapping sounds, the
- 7:56Speaker 2: knocking sounds, which made it sound like they were still.
- 8:00Speaker 4: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 8:03Speaker 4: for it?
- 8:03Speaker 3: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with. They have
- 8:06Speaker 3: more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 8:09Speaker 4: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 8:11Speaker 5: It's Dunaidial.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Where?
- 8:15Speaker 3: Dunaidial.
- 8:16Speaker 5: There's an accent on the E.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Do you mean.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Yes, I got it on Dundale Cars.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Lift?
- 8:22Speaker 2: Please.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Are you going past Kimmage?
- 8:24Speaker 2: Oh, Kimmage.
- 8:25Speaker 3: No.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Dundale Cars.
- 8:27Speaker 3: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Alive and okay. Uh, another option would be, they could
- 8:33Speaker 2: have resurfaced somewhere far away and just be floating around.
- 8:38Speaker 2: And in that case, that would be, that would be
- 8:40Speaker 2: terrible because, you know, there's.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Not a hatch. No, they've been locked in. They had
- 8:45Speaker 1: to be bolted.
- 8:46Speaker 5: Yes.
- 8:46Speaker 1: 17 volts. So yeah, I mean, all scenarios are pretty awful.
- 8:50Speaker 1: I think the best one would be that they're already
- 8:53Speaker 1: floating on top of the water because then they just
- 8:55Speaker 1: need to get to them and undo the, the hatch
- 8:58Speaker 1: that was bolted from the outside, but the others seem
- 9:02Speaker 1: pretty grim and awful. And, you know, who knows if
- 9:06Speaker 1: they were caught on something, who knows if those taps
- 9:09Speaker 1: were just floating debris down near the Titanic that are
- 9:13Speaker 1: making the sound. So like, I have so many questions.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I want to know, you know, I'm, I wish that
- 9:18Speaker 1: journalists would be getting to the point more of like
- 9:21Speaker 1: what the conversations were like the first hour and 45
- 9:23Speaker 1: minutes that they did have contact with them. Did it
- 9:26Speaker 1: seem like anything was wrong up until then? Did they
- 9:28Speaker 1: know exactly where they were when they disappeared from, you know, communication?
- 9:35Speaker 1: How did they seem to be doing for the first,
- 9:37Speaker 1: you know, hour and 45 minutes? I'm curious about all that.
- 9:39Speaker 1: And then I'm curious if a submarine or submersible like
- 9:44Speaker 1: that implodes, does it make something like a sonic boom?
- 9:48Speaker 1: Does it make some sort of noise that you would
- 9:50Speaker 1: hear somewhere or that would be registered somewhere in the atmosphere?
- 9:56Speaker 1: Would you see debris? I mean, I don't really know
- 9:58Speaker 1: how that would happen. So, and also, you know, there's
- 10:02Speaker 1: been a lot of talk that this was not made
- 10:05Speaker 1: properly and didn't have the right specifications to go that deep.
- 10:09Speaker 1: And so, you know, I'm just curious if they are
- 10:13Speaker 1: still in there, if they're just minute to minute, you know,
- 10:16Speaker 1: so worried that they're just going to you know, implode.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I mean, it's just so awful.
- 10:21Speaker 2: That's a good point. One of the, one of the
- 10:24Speaker 2: crazy things. Well, so it sounds like there were some, like,
- 10:28Speaker 2: don't quote me on this, some sort of like code
- 10:30Speaker 2: violation things, or, you know, they weren't following things to specifications,
- 10:35Speaker 2: like you said, and this contraption, it's kind of like
- 10:39Speaker 2: made out of random parts, like that like upcycled, recycled parts,
- 10:46Speaker 2: like the steering is from an Xbox controller. There's no
- 10:50Speaker 2: like emergency location device on it. Like there is on
- 10:55Speaker 2: an airplane, like no black box or anything like that,
- 10:58Speaker 2: where they can, you know, find you and locate you,
- 11:02Speaker 2: no tracking or anything, which there should be. And all
- 11:05Speaker 2: of the steering and navigation was done by text message,
- 11:10Speaker 2: which is kind of there were a lot of things.
- 11:12Speaker 1: That I feel like- Well, it makes no sense because
- 11:14Speaker 1: my Wi-Fi doesn't even work half the time in my
- 11:16Speaker 1: own house, much less if I went underwater. I mean,
- 11:19Speaker 1: I just think that's crazy. And if the Xbox or
- 11:22Speaker 1: PlayStation control wasn't charged properly, how would they use- I
- 11:27Speaker 1: just think the whole thing sounds absurd, sort of.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I know. I know. So yeah, would you go? Okay,
- 11:34Speaker 2: I do love the Titanic. I think it's amazing. What
- 11:37Speaker 2: an experience. What an opportunity for these people. But so iffy,
- 11:42Speaker 2: would you ever, would you.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Ever go on an excursion like that? No, if someone
- 11:47Speaker 1: paid me $ 10 million, I wouldn't go because they're not
- 11:50Speaker 1: even getting out and swimming with it or like looking
- 11:53Speaker 1: for things. They're looking through a glass little window and
- 11:57Speaker 1: taking pictures with their phone. I mean, they can sit
- 11:59Speaker 1: in the comfort of their bed or their couch and,
- 12:03Speaker 1: you know, log on to what the submersible is seeing
- 12:07Speaker 1: and be safe and drinking wine or a beer. And like,
- 12:11Speaker 1: it makes no sense. I mean, I just am so
- 12:14Speaker 1: shocked that anyone would want to do that. But, you know,
- 12:16Speaker 1: I did speak to somebody last night who is a
- 12:18Speaker 1: major adventurer and does go on things like this and
- 12:22Speaker 1: is someone who's registered on the wait list to go
- 12:25Speaker 1: up into space and all this stuff. So he says
- 12:28Speaker 1: that they're very aware when they do these things of
- 12:31Speaker 1: how dangerous it is and how they could lose their life,
- 12:34Speaker 1: but that it doesn't, that doesn't deter them obviously because
- 12:38Speaker 1: they are such adventurers and they love this kind of thing. And, um,
- 12:42Speaker 1: you know, I just, I hope they had food. I
- 12:44Speaker 1: hope they had water. I hope they had a lot of,
- 12:46Speaker 1: sweaters and warm things that they could have, you know,
- 12:49Speaker 1: they were layered and could have taken off depending on
- 12:52Speaker 1: the heat. I just, you know, it's also really sad
- 12:54Speaker 1: that a 19 year old boy was down there because
- 12:56Speaker 1: no matter how much experience the other guys have, um,
- 12:59Speaker 1: in this kind of thing, um, that 19 year old
- 13:03Speaker 1: kid was just a kid is just a kid and, uh,
- 13:06Speaker 1: must be terrified. I mean, they're all terrified, but anyway,
- 13:09Speaker 1: father and son. Yeah. So father and son.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Yeah. I, I can only imagine like the conversation, the
- 13:16Speaker 2: conversations that are taking place too, between this father and son,
- 13:19Speaker 2: probably like heartbreaking, like, I love you, you know, all
- 13:23Speaker 2: these big, meaningful.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I would hope. I mean, hopefully they're not mad at
- 13:27Speaker 1: each other and blaming each other about how they got
- 13:29Speaker 1: there in the first place. So, but maybe by the
- 13:32Speaker 1: time this airs, there will be some answers. I would hope.
- 13:36Speaker 1: If not, I hope that there are answers at the end,
- 13:39Speaker 1: no matter what the outcome is, because Remember how long
- 13:43Speaker 1: it took to find, like, to get answers to the
- 13:45Speaker 1: missing airplane that disappeared?
- 13:49Speaker 2: Malaysian.
- 13:50Speaker 1: The Malaysian air. Yes.
- 13:52Speaker 2: That's a crazy story.
- 13:54Speaker 1: That's a crazy story. And I actually recently watched the documentary.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I actually didn't know that they found the plane. Did
- 13:59Speaker 1: you know that?
- 14:00Speaker 2: No.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:01Speaker 2: I thought it just disappeared.
- 14:03Speaker 1: No, I thought so too. But in the documentary, they
- 14:05Speaker 1: made it seem like they did find it. wreckage and
- 14:08Speaker 1: fuselage from it somewhere, but they kind of don't know
- 14:12Speaker 1: what happened or why, you know, why the flight ended.
- 14:15Speaker 1: So anyway, I love all that stuff. I think it's
- 14:18Speaker 1: really interesting, but no one likes to not know what happened.
- 14:21Speaker 1: The not knowing is the worst. I've been through that
- 14:25Speaker 1: when I lost my fiance in September 11th and I
- 14:29Speaker 1: had to not know for a long time what happened. And,
- 14:33Speaker 1: you know, obviously your brain tells you that, when it's
- 14:37Speaker 1: like not okay to hope anymore, you know, but you,
- 14:41Speaker 1: you want to give up hope until you, you want
- 14:42Speaker 1: to keep hope until you know, um, some tangible facts.
- 14:47Speaker 1: So I, it really is the worst feeling of not knowing.
- 14:49Speaker 1: So I do, um, I will follow this story and
- 14:52Speaker 1: I hope you all do too, because it's just an
- 14:54Speaker 1: awful thing. And I hope that we will, um, learn
- 14:57Speaker 1: a lot from it, I guess. Yeah. I'm so excited
- 15:04Speaker 1: to tell you guys about our new sponsor, green chef.

- 17:14Speaker 1: slash understood60 and use code understood60 to get 60% off
- 17:20Speaker 1: plus free shipping. Maybe we should talk about this week's
- 17:22Speaker 1: guests that we had on. Yeah, for sure. So we
- 17:25Speaker 1: started Monday. We had Lilo Brancato, who was the actor,
- 17:31Speaker 1: the 16-year-old in A Bronx Tale, which have you seen
- 17:35Speaker 1: the movie?
- 17:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you made me watch it and I'm so glad
- 17:38Speaker 2: you did. I watched it the day before he came
- 17:42Speaker 2: on the show.
- 17:43Speaker 1: But you hadn't seen it 30 years ago.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I did, but I really didn't remember it. I remembered
- 17:49Speaker 2: bits and pieces of it, but I had to rewatch
- 17:52Speaker 2: it again. Then I remembered, but yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 1: It's such an interesting film because it's just as good
- 17:57Speaker 1: now as it was 30 years ago. I mean, it's timeless.
- 18:00Speaker 1: It's such a good film. And C is the part
- 18:03Speaker 1: that he plays. It's Robert De Niro's son. And he's
- 18:07Speaker 1: such a breakout actor. And I loved having him on
- 18:09Speaker 1: the show because he talked about how he got found
- 18:12Speaker 1: or noticed, whatever. He was swimming in the ocean. His
- 18:15Speaker 1: brother pulled him out and said, you should try out
- 18:17Speaker 1: for this cold casting call. And he ultimately got the
- 18:21Speaker 1: part and it made him ridiculously famous. I mean, he, he, he,
- 18:26Speaker 1: by the way, is a natural talent. He is a star,
- 18:29Speaker 1: but you know, people all have their demons and he
- 18:32Speaker 1: was struggling with his. And especially when he got the
- 18:35Speaker 1: notoriety and the fame from this movie, people started coming
- 18:39Speaker 1: out of the woodwork and the, mostly the way that
- 18:42Speaker 1: people wanted to, you know, show their, you know, appreciation
- 18:46Speaker 1: of him or act like they were his friends was
- 18:48Speaker 1: to get him involved in partying and drugs, ultimately leading
- 18:52Speaker 1: to the fact where he got so addicted that he
- 18:54Speaker 1: was looking for drugs one night with another person who,
- 18:59Speaker 1: and they went to someone's house to break in and
- 19:03Speaker 1: get some drugs that he had. It was a friend
- 19:07Speaker 1: of Lilo's, so he knew that the guy would be there,
- 19:09Speaker 1: and he knew that the guy had stuff. And I
- 19:14Speaker 1: don't even think they made it into the house, but
- 19:16Speaker 1: they just broke the glass. And there was an off-duty
- 19:19Speaker 1: cop living next door who heard, came out, and the
- 19:22Speaker 1: accomplice that was with Lilo Lilo shot and killed the cop. And, um,
- 19:30Speaker 1: the accomplice got shot. I think a bunch of times
- 19:32Speaker 1: Lilo got shot a few times and it was horrible.
- 19:35Speaker 1: He went to, he went to jail for 10 years,
- 19:38Speaker 1: got out after eight and is spending his life right now, um,
- 19:42Speaker 1: working in the treatment and addiction and recovery, um, community
- 19:47Speaker 1: really helping others. And it was really interesting to talk
- 19:50Speaker 1: to him and hear his whole story. What did you think?
- 19:52Speaker 2: Oh, it was great. It was such a beautiful story
- 19:55Speaker 2: of a rise and a fall, but then redemption afterwards
- 19:59Speaker 2: and serving others and things like that, helping others in
- 20:02Speaker 2: the future. And you said in the interview, it's like,
- 20:06Speaker 2: life imitates art. That, that famous quote from the movie, the,
- 20:11Speaker 2: the saddest thing in the world is wasted talent. And
- 20:14Speaker 2: his life was going on that kind of course, but he,
- 20:18Speaker 2: he brought.
- 20:18Speaker 4: It all back.
- 20:19Speaker 2: So he was great. He was great. And he was fun.
- 20:21Speaker 2: And I love the way he just lays it all
- 20:24Speaker 2: out there. He doesn't, he doesn't make excuses. He doesn't
- 20:27Speaker 2: try to put it in a prettier little package or
- 20:30Speaker 2: anything like that. He's like, here's what I did. And
- 20:33Speaker 2: he just says it all and doesn't hide anything or,
- 20:36Speaker 2: you know, he just tells his full story. It was great.
- 20:41Speaker 2: And we've been getting great feedback on that episode too.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Everybody just really loved it.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Yeah. And so if you haven't listened to it yet,
- 20:48Speaker 1: you should go back and listen to it when you can.
- 20:50Speaker 1: He's really interesting. It's a really compelling story. And especially
- 20:54Speaker 1: if you've seen A Bronx Tale, it makes it even
- 20:56Speaker 1: more worthwhile because then you feel like you really get
- 20:58Speaker 1: to understand him. So Then the episode that came out
- 21:01Speaker 1: Wednesday was the famous Rudy Giuliani episode that we did.
- 21:06Speaker 1: We went to see him at WABC radio and did
- 21:09Speaker 1: a sit down with him for about an hour and
- 21:10Speaker 1: 10 minutes, which was fantastic because he had been on
- 21:13Speaker 1: my bucket list before I even started this podcast as
- 21:16Speaker 1: one of the people I wanted to speak to. And
- 21:18Speaker 1: when I would tell people that I wanted to interview
- 21:21Speaker 1: Rudy Giuliani, they said, why? That's crazy. I'm not going
- 21:25Speaker 1: to listen to that episode. He's completely nuts. But the
- 21:30Speaker 1: first question people asked after my interview when they heard
- 21:33Speaker 1: I met him that day was, you know, could he
- 21:36Speaker 1: form a sentence? And yes, he was completely normal. He's
- 21:40Speaker 1: not like what you read about. I know that he
- 21:43Speaker 1: does make a lot of, you know, offhanded comments, crazy,
- 21:47Speaker 1: you know, some comments sound crazy. Things he does have
- 21:50Speaker 1: been a little bizarre with the, you know, showing up
- 21:54Speaker 1: at the Four Seasons event. landscaping company instead of a
- 21:58Speaker 1: hotel to do a press conference or having the hair
- 22:01Speaker 1: dye sweating out of his head and you know all
- 22:04Speaker 1: these weird things, I guess, but just means to me,
- 22:07Speaker 1: you have really bad people around you because they're not
- 22:09Speaker 1: helping you. So now he has a really good, um,
- 22:13Speaker 1: publicist or, you know, assistant or manager that he works with.
- 22:17Speaker 1: And frankly, my experience with him was fantastic. He spoke
- 22:20Speaker 1: all about, um, his experience with 9-11. Obviously I have
- 22:23Speaker 1: my own. So it was so great to talk to him, um,
- 22:26Speaker 1: and go through that day with him. And then I
- 22:27Speaker 1: was able to ask him questions, even though I wasn't
- 22:29Speaker 1: really supposed to, but about the current accusations that have
- 22:34Speaker 1: been you know, in the news and also talk to
- 22:37Speaker 1: him about the state of New York because there's been
- 22:39Speaker 1: so much going on in New York. And I just
- 22:40Speaker 1: moved from New York to Florida to get out of
- 22:43Speaker 1: being in New York, but I'm really a New Yorker.
- 22:44Speaker 1: So it was nice to talk to him and get
- 22:46Speaker 1: his perspective. And he's such a smart man. He's done
- 22:49Speaker 1: a lot. So like him or hate him. It's a
- 22:51Speaker 1: great episode to listen to because I think you get
- 22:54Speaker 1: a new perspective of who he is and give, have
- 22:56Speaker 1: a little forgiveness, you know, and empathy from it. So
- 22:59Speaker 1: I hope people listen to that.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, what a sweet.
- 23:03Speaker 4: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 23:06Speaker 4: for it?
- 23:06Speaker 3: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with. They have
- 23:09Speaker 3: more cars for more dealerships than, like, anywhere else.
- 23:12Speaker 4: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 23:14Speaker 5: It's Dunaidial.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Where?
- 23:18Speaker 4: Dunaidial.
- 23:19Speaker 5: There's an accent on the E.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Do you mean.
- 23:23Speaker 5: Yes, I got it on Dundiel Cars.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Lift?
- 23:25Speaker 2: Please.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Are you going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage.
- 23:28Speaker 1: No.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Done deal cars you couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Part two and the same thing everybody who's like oh
- 23:36Speaker 2: my god you you met rudy is he absolutely just
- 23:39Speaker 2: batshit crazy i'm like what no he's very articulate and
- 23:43Speaker 2: well-spoken and a gentleman and just a wonderful like he
- 23:47Speaker 2: was a great person yeah and ted his his right
- 23:52Speaker 2: hand man is wonderful too so yeah it was it
- 23:55Speaker 2: was awesome and we all as americans have our own
- 23:59Speaker 2: story that we went through on 9-11, whether we lived
- 24:02Speaker 2: in New York or Iowa or wherever, you know, we
- 24:06Speaker 2: all felt the emotions and we were all scared and
- 24:10Speaker 2: we all saw Rudy as a leader during that time.
- 24:14Speaker 2: So the story resonates with everyone. I think whether you
- 24:17Speaker 2: like his politics or not, it's a great episode. Yeah.
- 24:20Speaker 1: And obviously what he said is still important enough because
- 24:24Speaker 1: it was, you know, front page story this morning on
- 24:26Speaker 1: the Daily Mail and got picked up everywhere. And people
- 24:29Speaker 1: are interested in what he has to say. And I
- 24:30Speaker 1: think for a long time, he's gotten really bad press about,
- 24:33Speaker 1: you know, the fact that people are like, what happened
- 24:35Speaker 1: to him? So, you know, I do think it was
- 24:39Speaker 1: very interesting to be able to talk to him and
- 24:41Speaker 1: hear his thoughts on what's going on in terrorism and
- 24:45Speaker 1: how it's changed or hasn't changed since then, you know?
- 24:48Speaker 1: So he's a really interesting figure to just pick his
- 24:52Speaker 1: brain anyway. So it was such an honor to have
- 24:54Speaker 1: him on the show, you know? So anyways, I thought
- 24:57Speaker 1: that was great. It was great.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:00Speaker 1: So I wanted to actually talk about one other thing
- 25:01Speaker 1: that has been consuming my week. Have you, well, I
- 25:04Speaker 1: know you did because I'm asked you to, but, um,
- 25:07Speaker 1: who has seen, um, this new documentary? Uh, it's like
- 25:12Speaker 1: a top show right now on documentary. It is called
- 25:14Speaker 1: take care of Maya. Um, I know that you saw
- 25:17Speaker 1: it and, um, but people that are listening, I really,
- 25:21Speaker 1: next time you go on Netflix, this is a documentary
- 25:23Speaker 1: you should see, but be prepared. It's going to affect you.
- 25:26Speaker 1: So I, as I mentioned at the and all of that.
- 25:34Speaker 1: But I also didn't sleep the night that I watched
- 25:37Speaker 1: Take Care of Maya, because it affected me in a
- 25:39Speaker 1: way that I wasn't prepared for. I mean, I was
- 25:41Speaker 1: crying from like the first two minutes in, and then
- 25:45Speaker 1: at different parts throughout, I was so affected that I
- 25:47Speaker 1: found myself just like beyond upset. And it's, you know,
- 25:51Speaker 1: it's about a family that this is the first time
- 25:53Speaker 1: they've gotten to have their narrative and share their side
- 25:56Speaker 1: of the story. But technically, it was a family who
- 26:01Speaker 1: happened about 10 years ago, the there was a Two kids,
- 26:04Speaker 1: a brother and a sister and two parents. The Kowalskis
- 26:08Speaker 1: is the name of the family. And the daughter started
- 26:11Speaker 1: suffering from some interesting symptoms that they couldn't figure out.
- 26:15Speaker 1: And they took her to five different doctors. And two
- 26:18Speaker 1: doctors actually decided to prescribe her with ketamine as a
- 26:24Speaker 1: way to treat what she had. And it was a
- 26:27Speaker 1: disease that many people hadn't heard of. And the ketamine was...
- 26:31Speaker 1: helping her and she had a relapse and they took
- 26:34Speaker 1: her to Johns Hopkins. Johns Hopkins believed that the mom
- 26:40Speaker 1: had Munchausen's by proxy, which is where you are basically
- 26:45Speaker 1: lying about your kid being sick to get more attention
- 26:48Speaker 1: for yourself is sort of the layman's terms for it.
- 26:51Speaker 1: And long story short, child protective services came in and
- 26:56Speaker 1: took the child and got the courts involved. And, um, Maya,
- 26:59Speaker 1: the daughter who was only 10 and was in a
- 27:03Speaker 1: ton of pain and they weren't giving her the ketamine
- 27:05Speaker 1: that she was used to getting to subside the pain.
- 27:08Speaker 1: And she was in the hospital by herself for three
- 27:10Speaker 1: months under the care of the state. And, you know, um,
- 27:15Speaker 1: basically could not see her mom, could see her dad
- 27:18Speaker 1: on a limited basis. And they really blamed the mom,
- 27:21Speaker 1: like she was making this up and making her daughter sick.
- 27:24Speaker 1: And the last sort of straw that broke the camel's
- 27:29Speaker 1: back is the judge decided that this was going to
- 27:32Speaker 1: continue on and that she could not even go in
- 27:35Speaker 1: and hug her daughter. And that night, the mother, her
- 27:41Speaker 1: name was Beta Kowalski, she killed herself. She hung herself.
- 27:45Speaker 1: And long story short, Maya has this disease. It's been diagnosed.
- 27:52Speaker 1: The hospital agreed. They gave custody back to the father.
- 27:56Speaker 1: And now in 2023 is where we are. Obviously, September,
- 28:01Speaker 1: they are going to court, but it's taken them five
- 28:03Speaker 1: years to get a court to agree to take this
- 28:07Speaker 1: to trial, and they are suing Johns Hopkins for negligence, basically.
- 28:13Speaker 1: And I hope they get every penny that they ask for.
- 28:15Speaker 1: It's such an upsetting story. And they also found out
- 28:18Speaker 1: that this one Child Protective Service woman had taken away
- 28:23Speaker 1: almost 30 kids from their families, and some parents are
- 28:27Speaker 1: still in jail from it. And I've actually had two
- 28:29Speaker 1: friends that have told me stories like this, that they've
- 28:32Speaker 1: gone to the hospital, And something happened with their kid.
- 28:35Speaker 1: One of them in particular, I remember her son had
- 28:38Speaker 1: taken the microwavable macaroni and cheese out of the microwave
- 28:42Speaker 1: really quick. And the water that's in it sprayed all
- 28:45Speaker 1: over his neck and stomach because he wasn't prepared that
- 28:49Speaker 1: it was like burning water. And she took him to
- 28:52Speaker 1: the emergency room and she died. was basically accused of
- 28:55Speaker 1: child abuse. And yeah, yeah. And it was a whole investigation.
- 29:00Speaker 1: And she's like, this is crazy. I'm bringing him here
- 29:03Speaker 1: to get treatment. But he had third degree burns on
- 29:06Speaker 1: his body. And it was really bad. So they didn't
- 29:08Speaker 1: believe her. And She's a great mom, you know, and
- 29:13Speaker 1: it's just so scary because it could happen to anyone.
- 29:16Speaker 1: What happened to the Kowalskis could happen to anyone. And
- 29:19Speaker 1: it's so frightening when the control is taken away from
- 29:25Speaker 1: you and the power and when these big businesses get
- 29:29Speaker 1: involved and the courts get involved because the courts are
- 29:32Speaker 1: not really prepared to listen to all the facts and
- 29:36Speaker 1: listen to the emotion and listen to why people do
- 29:38Speaker 1: things and they end just a judge that's making these decisions.
- 29:42Speaker 1: And the damage has already been done. I mean, this
- 29:44Speaker 1: poor girl grew up without a mother. And her mother
- 29:47Speaker 1: killed herself because of what was happening, not because she
- 29:50Speaker 1: had any mental illness. She could not be with her daughter.
- 29:53Speaker 1: And she was devastated. And it was so upsetting to
- 29:56Speaker 1: me because Maya at the time was my daughter's age.
- 29:59Speaker 1: that she is now. And I was so affected by
- 30:02Speaker 1: it that I stalked her and figured out how to
- 30:05Speaker 1: get a hold of her. And within 20 minutes of
- 30:08Speaker 1: me reaching out to her, I was talking to her
- 30:10Speaker 1: on on my phone, we were texting back and forth
- 30:12Speaker 1: and she's such a sweet girl. And I just really
- 30:14Speaker 1: wish the best for her and her family. Um, we
- 30:17Speaker 1: made a request for them to come on the show
- 30:18Speaker 1: and it seems like Netflix doesn't want them to be
- 30:21Speaker 1: doing press that they're not setting up right now. So
- 30:23Speaker 1: we'll see if eventually we can get her on, but
- 30:25Speaker 1: I just really am going to follow that story and
- 30:27Speaker 1: I hope for the best for her and people that
- 30:29Speaker 1: haven't seen the documentary really should, if they can stomach
- 30:32Speaker 1: that kind of thing.
- 30:33Speaker 2: I agree. It was heartwarming.
- 30:35Speaker 4: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 30:38Speaker 4: for it?
- 30:39Speaker 3: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with. They have
- 30:41Speaker 3: more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 30:44Speaker 4: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 30:46Speaker 5: It's Dunaidial.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Where? Dunaidial.
- 30:51Speaker 5: There's an accent on the E.
- 30:54Speaker 4: Do you mean.
- 30:55Speaker 5: Yes, I got it on Dundiel Cars.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Lift?
- 30:57Speaker 2: Please.
- 30:57Speaker 4: Are you going past Kimmage?
- 30:59Speaker 5: Oh, Kimmage.
- 31:00Speaker 2: No.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Done deal cars you couldn't possibly.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Go anywhere else breaking I'm I'm pretty tough I was
- 31:07Speaker 2: like I'm not gonna cry oh I was crying through
- 31:10Speaker 2: the whole thing too so sad I can't imagine being
- 31:15Speaker 2: prevented from seeing my child I I just felt her
- 31:18Speaker 2: pain it was just it was just horrible and these
- 31:23Speaker 2: these the court system the social workers they have so
- 31:26Speaker 2: much on their plate they have so many case files
- 31:29Speaker 2: that I was frustrated because they can't possibly give Maya's case.
- 31:37Speaker 2: They could not have possibly given Maya's case the time
- 31:40Speaker 2: and attention that Maya's own parents did over the course
- 31:43Speaker 2: of her lifetime. They looked at a file, read through it,
- 31:46Speaker 2: and decided like that, they're going to take parental custody away.
- 31:50Speaker 2: It was just infuriating to watch the end. The ending is...
- 31:57Speaker 2: I mean, you need a box of Kleenex.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. But, you know, also what's interesting is to
- 32:02Speaker 1: play devil's advocate. It's happened in the opposite way. I mean,
- 32:05Speaker 1: remember the story with Gypsy? What was it? What was this?
- 32:09Speaker 2: Gypsy Rose Blanchard.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Yes.
- 32:11Speaker 1: And the mother was taking the child in and doctor
- 32:13Speaker 1: shopping and made the kid think she was sick, I think. And, um,
- 32:19Speaker 1: because she did have Munchausen's by proxy and eventually the
- 32:24Speaker 1: daughter kind of got her wits about her. She got
- 32:26Speaker 1: older and got a boyfriend and they decided to create
- 32:29Speaker 1: a scheme to kill the mother. Right. Uh, so I
- 32:32Speaker 1: don't even know what happened there. Do you know how
- 32:34Speaker 1: that ended up?
- 32:36Speaker 2: I don't know how it ended up, but I'd But.
- 32:38Speaker 1: They've made movies about it. It obviously was a big
- 32:40Speaker 1: enough story that it gripped the nation and it was crazy.
- 32:44Speaker 1: But in this scenario, the mother was abusing the child
- 32:47Speaker 1: because she had Munchausen's and was getting a lot of
- 32:49Speaker 1: attention because her daughter was so sick. At the end
- 32:52Speaker 1: of the day, I think she made it seem like
- 32:53Speaker 1: her daughter couldn't walk. She was paralyzed. The kid could
- 32:55Speaker 1: walk because she's walking fine. So, I mean, these scenarios
- 33:00Speaker 1: do happen.
- 33:00Speaker 2: They do.
- 33:02Speaker 1: But you have to be so careful, obviously. I mean,
- 33:05Speaker 1: we're not involved in it, but it's just so painful
- 33:07Speaker 1: to watch.
- 33:08Speaker 2: It is. And I know that the court system has
- 33:11Speaker 2: a really difficult job to do. I know they do,
- 33:15Speaker 2: but they don't always get it right. There's no way
- 33:17Speaker 2: they can always get it right. And in this case,
- 33:19Speaker 2: in Maya's case, they got it terribly wrong and there
- 33:23Speaker 2: is just a tragic ending. So it's a great, it's
- 33:26Speaker 2: a great documentary. Don't watch it if you want to
- 33:28Speaker 2: be in a good mood, but do watch it. It's,
- 33:31Speaker 2: it's a, it's really good. Okay.
- 33:32Speaker 1: And actually I'm going to tell you right now, I
- 33:34Speaker 1: have a text message from her right here. She just
- 33:36Speaker 1: texted me as we're literally talking.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Oh my gosh.
- 33:40Speaker 1: This show is all about people that are misunderstood. So
- 33:43Speaker 1: I'm really hoping to, you know, if she doesn't do
- 33:45Speaker 1: the interview, that's fine. I would just would actually like
- 33:48Speaker 1: to have her in my life because I really want
- 33:49Speaker 1: to support her. So I'm going to continue to talk
- 33:51Speaker 1: to her and wish her the best.
- 33:53Speaker 2: That's wonderful.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Yes.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Well, you're great at booking guests.
- 33:56Speaker 1: So we'll see what happens. Thank you. Yeah. Who are
- 33:59Speaker 1: our guests that we have next week?
- 34:01Speaker 2: Oh, next week we've got one guest in a two-part episode.
- 34:04Speaker 2: We've got Sarma.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Oh, speaking of Netflix. Yes. So wait, we'll tell you,
- 34:11Speaker 1: you have a couple of days now, you guys, if
- 34:12Speaker 1: you haven't seen Bad Vegan on Netflix, I feel like
- 34:16Speaker 1: I'm working for Netflix right now. If you haven't seen
- 34:18Speaker 1: Bad Vegan on Netflix, go and watch it this weekend
- 34:21Speaker 1: and I believe there's four parts to the docuseries. Is that?
- 34:27Speaker 2: I think that's right. Yep, yep.
- 34:28Speaker 1: You can binge it because it's that good. And Sarma
- 34:33Speaker 1: is a woman who lived in New York, got into
- 34:38Speaker 1: the hospitality business, the restaurant business, was a partner in
- 34:42Speaker 1: something called Pure Food and Wine. And long story short,
- 34:47Speaker 1: I mean, I don't even want to give it away
- 34:48Speaker 1: because it's so interesting, but she ended up going to
- 34:52Speaker 1: prison because of a guy. The restaurant was closed. It
- 34:55Speaker 1: was all over the news. It was national news. And
- 34:58Speaker 1: we have it on our show next week. And it's
- 34:59Speaker 1: one of the first times she really spends a lot
- 35:01Speaker 1: of time telling her side, because when you watch the documentary,
- 35:05Speaker 1: you come away with it, not knowing is this girl
- 35:08Speaker 1: complete criminal? Is she, um, mentally unstable or, you know,
- 35:14Speaker 1: was she psychologically abused by a guy who created this
- 35:19Speaker 1: world in her head and she did not know how
- 35:21Speaker 1: to get out of it. And unless you've been through
- 35:23Speaker 1: some sort of cult, um, under, you know, unless you
- 35:27Speaker 1: understand cults, unless you've been exposed to cults, you can't
- 35:30Speaker 1: really understand what that's like to be so psychologically abused
- 35:33Speaker 1: because people will look at you and say, Oh, you're
- 35:35Speaker 1: so smart. Like, how could you not get yourself out
- 35:38Speaker 1: of that? It doesn't work.
- 35:39Speaker 2: They'll say, why didn't you leave? Why did you not leave? Like,
- 35:41Speaker 2: it's a choice, you know? Yeah. I don't understand.
- 35:43Speaker 1: It's much more than that. And it's, um, And so
- 35:46Speaker 1: you don't know whether or not she was just brainwashed
- 35:48Speaker 1: and fell into this spell and ruined her whole life
- 35:51Speaker 1: because of it. But, uh, I've become friends with her
- 35:54Speaker 1: through doing these interviews with her. I genuinely like her. Uh,
- 35:58Speaker 1: I wish her the best. She has some really exciting
- 36:00Speaker 1: things coming up for her in her life, which she deserves.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Cause I think she's had a really hard time for
- 36:04Speaker 1: many years with the stigma of what happened to her
- 36:07Speaker 1: and what she went through and what she, she did
- 36:09Speaker 1: cause other people. So, um, I think she's trying to
- 36:12Speaker 1: make amends and she's got a lot of work to
- 36:13Speaker 1: do and a lot of money to pay back. Um,
- 36:16Speaker 1: in retribution to the government. As a matter of fact,
- 36:18Speaker 1: I think at the end of the day, they owed
- 36:21Speaker 1: about six, she owed personally over $ 6 million. And so
- 36:25Speaker 1: I think she has to be giving that back and
- 36:27Speaker 1: dealing with taxes and all sorts of things. So to
- 36:30Speaker 1: get your credibility back and people to trust you again
- 36:33Speaker 1: is a really hard thing, especially when it's been portrayed
- 36:36Speaker 1: in the papers and in the movies or, you know,
- 36:40Speaker 1: in streaming service. So I think it'll be really interesting
- 36:42Speaker 1: to hear her story. You guys are going to love it.
- 36:44Speaker 1: The first part of the episode comes out Monday. The
- 36:46Speaker 1: second part comes out Wednesday so that you have time
- 36:48Speaker 1: to catch up, but I think you will enjoy it.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:52Speaker 2: I'm super excited too, because right when Bad Vegan came
- 36:55Speaker 2: out on Netflix, I was all about it. I binged
- 36:58Speaker 2: the whole thing right away. And for the people who
- 37:01Speaker 2: haven't seen it, there's really no way you could explain
- 37:04Speaker 2: it quickly. It's unbelievable, the story. So it's just, it
- 37:07Speaker 2: gets pretty crazy and Definitely worth the watch.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Yeah. So you guys will have a good show come
- 37:12Speaker 1: out on Monday. All right. So you said earlier that
- 37:15Speaker 1: you are hungover. I think you look great. I just
- 37:18Speaker 1: want to get a quick update on how your dating
- 37:20Speaker 1: has been going on because if people are just tuning
- 37:23Speaker 1: in now or if you've been watching for the last
- 37:25Speaker 1: three weeks, Kelly is getting married on New Year's Eve
- 37:27Speaker 1: of 2024. So the catch there is that we don't
- 37:31Speaker 1: have a husband for her yet. So we're looking for one.
- 37:34Speaker 1: So we've been setting her up on dates. We put
- 37:36Speaker 1: her on all these online dating sites. And she's just
- 37:39Speaker 1: been inundated with men and dick pics and all this
- 37:42Speaker 1: really fun stuff. So she is having a hard time
- 37:46Speaker 1: working the last two weeks because all she's doing is
- 37:48Speaker 1: going out on dates and texting me at four in
- 37:51Speaker 1: the morning being like, I'm driving home now, da, da, da.
- 37:55Speaker 1: So I can't wait to hear the quick update from you.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Yeah, quick update. It's going well. I embarrassed myself, I
- 38:02Speaker 2: feel like, on my first date last night. I forget
- 38:06Speaker 2: that like, I've lost a lot of weight recently. I
- 38:09Speaker 2: can't really drink. I don't have much of an alcohol tolerance.
- 38:12Speaker 2: So I don't really drink a whole lot. I had
- 38:14Speaker 2: a little too much. I wasn't silly or anything, but
- 38:17Speaker 2: I threw up.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Oh my God. Amateur.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Amateur.
- 38:22Speaker 2: I know he was so sweet. I ended up, I
- 38:25Speaker 2: had to, cause I live an hour away. I had
- 38:27Speaker 2: to stay at his house first date. I had to
- 38:30Speaker 2: stay at his house. I had to get me a toothbrush.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Oh my God.
- 38:35Speaker 2: He was, I know he was so sweet. So this
- 38:38Speaker 2: is okay. Maybe there's a reason why I'm single. Anyway,
- 38:41Speaker 2: but the date went well. We went bowling and he
- 38:45Speaker 2: is a super cutie, smart, smart nerd, nerdy guy, my
- 38:49Speaker 2: kind of nerd.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 38:50Speaker 2: But that went great. So that was a great date
- 38:53Speaker 2: other than.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Was he who he said he was? I mean, I
- 38:56Speaker 1: know when you meet somebody online, they can be a
- 38:58Speaker 1: lot different. So did he live up to who he
- 39:01Speaker 1: said he was?
- 39:02Speaker 2: And more.
- 39:02Speaker 4: Yes.
- 39:03Speaker 3: Oh, cute.
- 39:03Speaker 2: He was a very, very quality person. So that was exciting.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Do you think you will go out with him again?
- 39:11Speaker 2: Yes, I will. He asked me already.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Wow.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Even though you threw up in his house and he
- 39:17Speaker 1: had to give you a toothbrush and you had to
- 39:19Speaker 1: spend the night on the first date, he asked you
- 39:21Speaker 1: out again. Well, something's going right for you.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Yeah. It must be my amazing bowling skills.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Yes. Did you did you win?
- 39:29Speaker 2: No, no, I'm a terrible bowler. So yeah, but it
- 39:34Speaker 2: was fun. We had a great time. I'm going to
- 39:36Speaker 2: a concert tonight.
- 39:38Speaker 1: With somebody else.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:40Speaker 2: With a, with a, on another date, I will not
- 39:42Speaker 2: be drinking. So that should go well.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Okay.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Uh, And then, oh, Sunday I have a date, a
- 39:50Speaker 2: dinner date. There's a man lying his airplane here to
- 39:55Speaker 2: meet me for dinner.
- 39:56Speaker 4: Yes.
- 39:56Speaker 1: That's what I like to hear. Okay. That's my kind
- 39:59Speaker 1: of guy.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I've never had anybody do anything like that before. So
- 40:04Speaker 2: that's pretty exciting. I'm very excited about that.
- 40:07Speaker 1: So yeah, it's going well.
- 40:08Speaker 3: All right.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Well, he seems like a person that I'd like to
- 40:11Speaker 1: put on your short list, but I don't even know
- 40:13Speaker 1: his name, so we'll have to hear his qualifications. But
- 40:15Speaker 1: at least he's making the effort by coming all the
- 40:18Speaker 1: way to see you. I like that. Because the last
- 40:20Speaker 1: couple of dates you've gone on, you live in a
- 40:22Speaker 1: small town and you've had to drive at least an
- 40:24Speaker 1: hour to go to them.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 40:26Speaker 1: So, you know, I don't know if, uh, if I
- 40:29Speaker 1: love that. I like that, that he's making the effort
- 40:31Speaker 1: to see you.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Yes. I mean, in flying a plane, he's not even driving.
- 40:34Speaker 2: He's just, he's like, okay, I'll fly to meet you
- 40:37Speaker 2: for dinner. I'm like, who are you? So yeah, that's exciting.
- 40:41Speaker 2: And I love it when a man will put in
- 40:43Speaker 2: the effort. Yeah, that's great. I think that's treat a woman. Yeah. Chivalry.
- 40:47Speaker 2: I like that. So, yeah.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 40:50Speaker 2: I'll keep you guys posted.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Please do. And if anyone has any suggestions for Kelly,
- 40:56Speaker 1: what's the email that you can send?
- 40:58Speaker 2: It's gettingmarriedatmisunderstoodpodcast.com.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Perfect. Okay, guys. So if you have any suggestions, it
- 41:05Speaker 1: doesn't matter where they live in the country, please send
- 41:08Speaker 1: in a suggestion, who the person is, how we get
- 41:11Speaker 1: in contact with you or them, because it would be
- 41:13Speaker 1: really funny. We'll put it on the show. We'll make
- 41:15Speaker 1: sure they go on a date or at least try
- 41:16Speaker 1: and get them to talk. So that would be great.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do it. Okay.
- 41:22Speaker 1: All right. So anything else that we want to cover
- 41:24Speaker 1: before next week?
- 41:26Speaker 2: No, I don't think so. Everybody tune in for SARMA
- 41:29Speaker 2: next week, Monday and Wednesday. And then of course, happy
- 41:32Speaker 2: hour on Friday again. Yeah. So thanks for watching.
- 41:36Speaker 1: And so I am leaving on my exciting weekend is
- 41:39Speaker 1: I'm going to Vegas for an event this weekend.
- 41:42Speaker 2: That is exciting. Who are you going to meet up
- 41:45Speaker 2: with there?
- 41:45Speaker 1: Oh, well, on Sunday, I'm actually going to meet up
- 41:47Speaker 1: with Perez Hilton. He's coming over to my friend's house.
- 41:50Speaker 1: And I'm very good friends with Shelly Berkeley, who's running
- 41:53Speaker 1: for mayor in Nevada. And she's working on getting the
- 41:57Speaker 1: young vote. And she's really a great woman. She's a Democrat.
- 42:00Speaker 1: She represents a lot of good, you know, first of all,
- 42:04Speaker 1: she has a lot of good people on her side,
- 42:06Speaker 1: but she, you know, all the The things that she
- 42:09Speaker 1: represents are very smart and she's been somebody in Congress
- 42:13Speaker 1: there and in politics in Nevada for almost her whole life.
- 42:18Speaker 1: And by the way, she's like in her 80s. So
- 42:20Speaker 1: she may look a little old to be running for
- 42:22Speaker 1: this position, but she's been doing this forever. She's fully qualified.
- 42:25Speaker 1: So Perez just moved to Las Vegas and I am
- 42:28Speaker 1: setting them up on a lunch date so that they
- 42:32Speaker 1: can meet because I believe that Perez will be very helpful.
- 42:35Speaker 1: in her campaign. So that's what I'm doing Sunday. And
- 42:38Speaker 1: then I have an event Sunday night through Wednesday, which
- 42:42Speaker 1: is going to be interesting because this is a group.
- 42:45Speaker 1: I don't want to even talk about what the name
- 42:46Speaker 1: is because it's all very secretive. I'm just a friend
- 42:49Speaker 1: of somebody who's a member. And so I'm going as guests.
- 42:51Speaker 1: This is the second time I've been invited. But they
- 42:54Speaker 1: sort of kidnap you for the weekend. You know the
- 42:57Speaker 1: town or the city that you're going to, but you
- 42:59Speaker 1: don't know anything else. And they send you like what
- 43:01Speaker 1: you're So it's to pack and bring to where it's
- 43:04Speaker 1: all very, you know, high net worth individuals, men and women.
- 43:08Speaker 1: And so they do a very white glove type of
- 43:14Speaker 1: three-day thing. You have seminars where you're getting to hear
- 43:18Speaker 1: from super interesting, super important people. And then you get
- 43:22Speaker 1: to see the town you're in. And so this time,
- 43:26Speaker 1: it's Las Vegas, which I'm very familiar with because I
- 43:29Speaker 1: lived there for five years. I opened up the number
- 43:30Speaker 1: one nightclub there. So it's going to be interesting to
- 43:34Speaker 1: see what kind of guests they have, what kind of
- 43:36Speaker 1: events they have scheduled for us. I know we have
- 43:38Speaker 1: a black tie evening. We have something outdoors. We have,
- 43:43Speaker 1: you know, a bunch of different dinners and events. So
- 43:46Speaker 1: I can't wait to see what happens. I'll have to
- 43:47Speaker 1: tell you about it next week, but then I'll be
- 43:48Speaker 1: back on Wednesday night.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Cannot wait to hear about that. That sounds amazing.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:54Speaker 2: I guess that's all we've got for this week, but...
- 43:57Speaker 2: We need everybody to make sure they, if they have

- 45:12Speaker 3: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with. They have
- 45:15Speaker 3: more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 45:18Speaker 4: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 45:20Speaker 5: It's Dunaidial.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Where?
- 45:24Speaker 3: Dunaidial.
- 45:25Speaker 5: There's an accent on the E.
- 45:28Speaker 4: Do you mean.
- 45:28Speaker 5: Yes, I got it on Dundale Cars.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Lift?
- 45:31Speaker 1: Please.
- 45:31Speaker 4: Are you going past Kimmage?
- 45:33Speaker 5: Oh, Kimmage.
- 45:34Speaker 4: No.
- 45:35Speaker 5: Dundale Cars.
- 45:36Speaker 3: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
